i genuinely dont know how to explain this story bc honestly half of it is just vibes rn 😭 its not really a romance but it is pretty dark so CW: murder, obsession, a shit ton of sexism and cults 🤞

gizelle and clay got married solely because their parents forced made them because honestly, they barely knew each other, but their parents saw them more as an extension of their image and getting married young was encouraged in their church 🧍‍♀️ they barely interact in their house besides dinner. clay's blind but all his other senses are very strong so he manages. while gigi stays home and takes care of the farm and house, clay teaches the kindergarten class in their very very small town so basically everyone knows him.

DARK STUFF !!

After seeing her little sister Jolene get murdered by her husband Wyatt for seeking a divorce, Gizelle realizes how fucked up her town is because everyone was making an excuse for him! After Wyatt makes a particularly insulting comment about the entire situation while the two of them are alone, she gets so mad that she shoots him dead in the stables. After breaking out of her catatonic state, Gigi leaves his dead body there and goes back home. She bumps into Clay and then realizes that he literally can't see the blood on her hands.

Anyway, this starts a chain of murders across South Meadows where known objectively terrible men are found dead with a scar across their face with their crimes.
