It had taken Theodore and Charles Elias a few weeks of travel to get there, and although the fish harbour in Stockholm was a noisy, smelly place Charles Elias welcomed the opportunity to not be cooped up on the boat with wild glee.

Stockholm was so much bigger and busier than Charles Elias could ever have imagined, and he spent the first day simply marveling at the sights while Theodore began to sell their fish and barter with the fishmonger that Mr. Isak traded with.

As evening rolled around things hadn't exactly calmed down as such, but Theodore decided it was time for him and Charles Elias to stop for the day and seek out food.

But first! They would meet with Émile Gustaf.

It took much longer than anticipated to wind through the cobblestone streets, walking up and down hills and navigating around carriages and people, but finally they arrived at the correct adress.

Once they asked the house's maid to let Émile Gustaf know they were there, it only took a minute before the door opened and he came bounding out.

"Charles Elias!" He said, lifting his brother into a hug, "And Theodore! I'm so happy you're here!"

It felt so strange to see Émile Gustaf after all this time. He had grown his beard out, and now wore a pair of glasses.

When asked about it Émile Gustaf laughed slightly and said: "That's what pouring over old books does to a man!" as he led Charles Elias and Theodore up to his attic room.

"Pardon the mess," Émile Gustaf said, "I usually don't have much company over."

"No lady friends, then?" Theodore grinned and Émile Gustaf rolled his eyes slightly.

"Hardly," he said, "Not for a lack of trying, mind you. My friends have been trying to set me up for as long as I can remember."

"Shame," Charles Elias said, "I know mum wants nothing more than to see us all settled."

"Oh," Émile Gustaf said, moving some old letters aside, "Trust me, I am very aware of that. But! Enough about ladies and my room - how are you? How did the journey go? Are you all well? How's Åland?"

After some time of catching up, joking around and telling stories, Émile Gustaf clapped his hand on his knee and stood up.

"What a poor host I've been!" He said. "You must all be famished. Come, let me take you to one of my favourite haunts."

Barbie is a fashion doll created by American businesswoman Ruth Handler, manufactured by American toy and entertainment company Mattel and introduced on March 9, 1959. Barbie has been an important part of the toy fashion doll market for over six decades.

I had the idea to play @sims-himbo's Barbie Legacy Challenge (after watching @vixellacc's YT series) but as a mini-Decades challenge. 50's era Barbie is iconic. I'm so happy with how she turned out!

Not only have I been having so much fun writing Many Moons Ago, but much to my surprise, I've also been having a blast with gameplay! And if you know me, you know that it is impossible for me to simply play without accumulating pictures. So naturally, adorable Darling Gen 1 retro photos that weren't quite suitable for the story have accumulated. I know I've already got so many ongoing stories and posts, so I actually considered making a seperate gameplay blog just for said posts but then I was like why? yk? this is literally a simblr, what's the point in making a new blog for other sims posts lol??? So with that being said I'll be sprinkling your dashboards with vintage gameplay posts alongside my regular posting schedule. If you'd like to avoid these posts, they'll be tagged as "MMAgameplay" but honestly why would you, look at dem 🥺

Mr. and Mrs. Wilder - Windenburg 1913

Maggie aged up into a beautiful young woman. Her parents commissioned a portrait to commemorate the moment!

She had started helping out more around the house, giving Ellie more time to knit. However, the meal quality was definitely suffering while Maggie kept practicing.

She also took frequent walks to the nearby market for that cooking, which was a welcome break from her brothers loudly fighting and playing all day.

Maggie ran into an old classmate, Lloyd, on one of her walks, and he seemed equally as excited to see her!

The pair talked for hours in the square until the sun began to set. They didn't want the conversation to end, but her family would worry if she wasn't home soon.

WIP - Historical City, Circa 1930s-40s

Day #3 of multiple intricate object finding, locating and deleting models and/or recoloring with period appropriate textures to convert San Myshuno into a semi-realistic big city. I'm really excited about it though, especially for the upcoming pack.

I am a perfectionist and of course I cannot play a decades save without full immersion therapy, so the pretty colors and billboards had to go (again, they're gorgeous but not realistic).

This birth seemed to be a little bit harder on Margaret but John tried to do his best for her.

They welcome another boy they named Henry.

(Both mom and son survived their rolls.)

As Autumn turned to Winter, Bea was so happy in her current predicament.

There was no fighting...there were no slaps across the face...there were no blatant insults about anybody's personality or characteristics...Bea had found peace

...and love

that night she kissed Florence's hands for the first time. Feeling her lips press against the skin of this remarkable woman filled her with jitters. Her stomach was full of fluttering...as if there were butterflies freshly emerged from their cocoons inside of her. And here she was, emerging from her cocoon herself.

She knew she could find herself here.

The elder of Alexandrea Cole Morales' two children, Sal is a young man of many interests who is discovering himself and his place in the world while attending high school in Los Angeles. He mostly wears shorts and cropped pants due to his age and the warm LA weather, and likes neutral, versatile colors. Sal's traits are Creative and Loves the Outdoors.

The boys walked under the summer sun through the woods towards a nearby beach, across soft sand, through tall reeds and past hawthorne bushes.

The sky was bright and cloudless and several of the boys removed their jackets.

Once there they sat down on some nearby granite rocks, heated to perfection in the sunshine. The cool breeze coming from the nearby sea doing wonders to shelter them from the heat.

They were all quick to undress, taking some time to enjoy the ocean before climbing back up on the rocks to dry.

Charles Elias hung back slightly, watching the other boys talk and joke amongst themselves.

He wasn't sure when to join in, or how, and every time he felt he saw the perfect moment to say something it passed him by.

Eventually, however, Alfred must have noticed Charles Elias' silence, because he turned to him with a smile.

"I'm so curious about how you live," he said, "I mean, do you only talk to the other men at home? Given how Laura's practically mute."

Charles Elias opened his mouth so say something, to tell them that actually she spoke just fine and not only that but she was very nice to talk to.

But before he had a chance one of the other boys interjected.

"Yeah!" He said. "Tell us, have you managed to get her to make any noise yet?"

"I bet I'd be able to if she stopped being such a stuck up--" The youngest boy of the group spoke up and was kicked at by an older boy.

"What would you know, anyhow?" The boy said. "As if you've ever spoken to a girl properly."

Alfred looked at the youngest.

"Yes, do tell," he said, "Have you actually spoken to any girls that aren't your sisters?"

"Sh-shut up!" The youngest said, his face turning red. "I have!"

"No way, you don't even have chest hair yet! You're just a baby!" "Aww, look, he's turning red!"

The boys, all except for Charles Elias and the youngest, laughed.

"What do you think?" Alfred suddenly turned to Charles Elias, with a look that he couldn't quite place.

Somewhere between inviting and calculating, as if he wanted Charles Elias to say something specific but with no indication of what.

Charles Elias looked back at the younger boy, his fists clenched and face red, and back to Alfred.

"I--" He licked his lips. "I think perhaps it's getting a bit heated."

Alfred and the rest of the boys were silent for a moment, before Alfred grinned broadly.

"You're so right!" He said, turning to the others. "Let's get him to cool down!"

The other boys let out a cheer at that, and a couple of them got up and immediately grabbed the younger boy, carrying him towards the water even as he trashed and swore at them.

"Don't toss me!" The boy screamed. "Stop!"

Despite his protests the boys threw him in, cheering and laughing as the youngest climbed back out of the water sputtering and coughing.

"I said don't toss me!" He whined.

"Aw, relax," Alfred said, "It was just a joke."

But the younger boy just stood there for a moment, clenching and unclenching his fists, looking like he was on the verge of tears.

"W-Whatever!" He finally said. "I didn't want to be here anyway!" He rushed out of the water, grabbed his clothes, and stormed off

Some of the boys jeered and let out a few scattered 'boo's at his retreat, and then they began talking about something else as if nothing ever happened.

But Charles Elias sat there on his sun-warmed rock and felt cold and weird and out of sorts, even as he half-heartedly laughed at some joke he couldn't fully understand the context of.
