Background: Friday noon (8 Nov 2019), a HKUST student, Alex Chow Tsz-lok, passed away in hospital after sustaining severe injuries from falling, said to be caused by the force behind police tear gas. People have come out en masse to mourn him, and on Sunday, due to severe vandalism at HKUST, the university cancelled classes today (on Monday). As a result, protests are likely to run rampant throughout the day.

HK (all over): Roads have begun blocking (by who-knows) since 7am. They are still ongoing.

MTR: Parts of the East Rail Line (Fo Tan to Lo Wu/Lok Ma Chau segment) and Ma On Shan Line (Shek Mun to Wu Kai Sha have been suspended for the day.

Students have been reportedly late to school (functions) or even unable to attend, due to transportation inconveniences. (I confess, I am one of the latter.)

Due to all the previous facts, evidence, police lies, police talk and witness accounts as presented in all previous posts related to HKUST student Chow Tsz-Lok's death, there is rising speculation that Chow might have been pushed off by the police or already severely beaten before being dropped.

Besides the speculations below in the pics, I would also like to add that:

A spot of blood was near the top of the outer side of the ledge of the 3rd floor where Chow fell off. Why was there blood when he should have only injuries when he landed on the second floor?

The height is 4m between 3rd and 2nd floor. A natural reaction is to risk breaking your limbs to buffer as much impact as you can from torso and head. The height isn't THAT great either. However, Chow had such an impact that his brain shifted to one side and his grey and white matter are mashed such that they are no longer discernible from each other. How did his brain suffer such huge injury from a 4m fall that he could break with his limbs?

Especially since Chow plays sports, and his reflexes must be good, so he should have been able to shield himself. Even normal ppl can break a fall when falling from a ladder.

He also vomited a lot of blood before swiftly becoming unconscious, and suffered incontinence.

Link Reit has released some CCTV footage but none show much. Note that Link Reit has ties to government, police, courts and triads. In 2016, they hired triads to harrass shop owners for rent-related issues and police arrested citizens but not the triads. The next day, the triads hired by Link Reit came and beat up citizens while the police stood by the side and prevented other citizens from saving the victims. Then a citizen was arrested. Constraints on $f(R)$ and nDGP Modified Gravity Model Parameters with Cluster Abundances and Galaxy Clustering. (arXiv:2101.08728v2 [astro-ph.CO] UPDATED)

We present forecasted cosmological constraints from combined measurements of galaxy cluster abundances from the Simons Observatory and galaxy clustering from a DESI-like experiment on two well-studied modified gravity models, the chameleon-screened $f(R)$ Hu-Sawicki model and the nDGP braneworld Vainshtein model.

A Fisher analysis is conducted using $\sigma_8$ constraints derived from thermal Sunyaev-Zel'dovich (tSZ) selected galaxy clusters, as well as linear and mildly non-linear redshift-space 2-point galaxy correlation functions. We find that the cluster abundances drive the constraints on the nDGP model while $f(R)$ constraints are led by galaxy clustering. The two tracers of the cosmological gravitational field are found to be complementary, and their combination significantly improves constraints on the $f(R)$ in particular in comparison to each individual tracer alone.

For a fiducial model of $f(R)$ with $\text{log}_{10}(f_{R0})=-6$ and $n=1$ we find combined constraints of $\sigma(\text{log}_{10}(f_{R0}))=0.48$ and $\sigma(n)=2.3$, while for the nDGP model with $n_{\text{nDGP}}=1$ we find $\sigma(n_{\text{nDGP}})=0.087$. Around a fiducial General Relativity (GR) model, we find a $95\%$ confidence upper limit on $f(R)$ of $f_{R0}\leq5.68\times 10^{-7}$. Our results present the exciting potential to utilize upcoming galaxy and CMB survey data available in the near future to discern and/or constrain cosmic deviations from GR.

The Pledge of Allegiance, which was written in 1892 and adopted by Congress in 1942 as the official pledge, even makes reference to the fact that the U.S. is a republic:

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

The Anti-Federalists and Federalists, as the new nation was being formed, could not agree on how involved the federal government should be in citizens’ lives; a decision on a pure democracy could never be reached. Alexander Hamilton, himself a Federalist, stated that the government being created was a “republican government,” and that true freedom would not be found in a dictatorship nor a true democracy, but in a moderate government.

Due to length, I will cut this at 1946 and continue in another post.

Context: HKers have called for a general strike to protest police violence (m*rder, r*pe, impr*gnation, sh*oting, t*rture, beat*ng, etc.) and death of HKUST student Chow Tsz-Lok, and have been blocking roads + disrupting traffic and services to enforce strike. Police action is in response to that. The 11 Nov 2019 operation is codename Dawn, from the very first line in HK’s own national anthem Glory to Hong Kong.

Night before: Plainclothes man drew his gun. Is he police? I don’t know.

0700: Operation Dawn begins. Roadblocks, arrests. Some police shouting and waving pepper spray cans

0700: Wong Tai Sin. A woman is subdued on ground near WTS Square. She is in black clothes and drinking a box of chocolate milk. Wearing black is not a crime nor does it indicate any intention to commit crime.

0710: Shatin. Tai Chung Kiu Rd is blocked off.

0711: Tseung Kwan O. Roadblock outside Sheung Tak carpark.

0715: Sheung Shui. Police attack a reporter with baton.

0715: Sai Wan Ho. 3 shots fired, live bullet! 2 hit: 1 black-clad youth in torso, 1 in arm. - None of the youths were holding any weapons nor being aggressive. - The police officer who shot is dressed as an ordinary traffic police and appeared to be in the act of trying to apprehend someone he believed to be blocking the road when approached by others. - He took his gun and directly placed it over the heart of the white-clad youth before the black-clad youth came up from behind, at which point the officer took the gun off and aimed at the black-clad youth’s right-side torso and fired. - Black-clad youth goes into shock. - Police then pepper spray onlookers. - Police officer had 0 justification for drawing firearm out. - Threat faced way too low to warrant a gun. - Fired without warning and also at extreme close range. - 2 taxi drivers exit their taxi and applaud the shooting, which means that they are pro-Beijing.

0730: Tai Wai. Live guns drawn and pointed.

Before 0730: PolyU. Students and citizens begin to gather at around slightly after 0700, large amounts of riot police chase into PolyU and illegally enter, raising orange flag warning of firing. Insults thrown from both sides, riot police enter again 10mins later to fire tear gas and beanbag rounds 10mins later. 1 black-clad young man injured by beanbag round.

0730: PolyU. Police point live guns.

0733: Shatin. 55-10 arrests, police threaten pepper spray at press and commuters, eye rinsing so maybe they sprayed.

0733: Hung Hom. Lots of black bloc on road with umbrellas and fences out.

0733: Tuen Mun. Press on road, not sure what is happening.

0735: Hung Hom. Tear gas.

0735: Tung Chung. Police driven off by citizens under a hail of projectiles and multiple de-arrests are made. Police had arrived while the citizens were setting up roadblocks and arrested a few.

0747: PolyU. Teargas fired on campus. First time teargas fired on HK uni campus.

0747: Tolo Highway blocked.

0747: MTR - East Rail line from Fan Ling to Fo Tan closed.

0753: Sai Wan Ho. Shot youth looks really bad, face pale and still in shock and police moving him around really roughly despite serious injury. They are trying to cuff him behind his back.  Black-clad youth taken to ambulance.

0755: Shatin. Tate’s Cairn Tunnel entrance blocked on Shatin side.

0805: Sai Wan Ho. A distraught woman rushes over to check on the youth, police pepper spray, then slam her to the ground with great force.

0809: Sai Wan Ho. Police pepper spray local residents, using them like water guns.

0812: Kwai Fong. Viral video circulates showing a police motorcycle doing a Charlottesville-style attack and ramming into a crowd of escaping citizens multiple times and hitting a number of them. Later reports interviewed one of the victims. He said he became unconscious for 15 mins when back of his head hit the pavement when he fell, and he was carried away by fellow citizens. Dizziness persisted. Probably concussion. He said that police officer even accelerated motorcycle when ramming into crowd. Another citizen was hit and fell, hurting their foot.

0813: Shatin. Live guns also drawn at Hilton Plaza next to Red Cross Building. 3rd location where live firearms have been drawn.

0819: Sai Wan Ho. Police pepper spray angry crowd in Sai Wan Ho, calling them to stay back.

0820: PolyU. Liberate Hong Kong, Revolution of Our Times flag hoisted at PolyU. Police have retreated from camps but still surround it. Citizens and students have barricaded the entrances.

0822: Police briefing undercovers on rooftops of buildings, exactly like in films. Helicopter also heard (used to spy on citizen movements and plan police attacks).

0823: CUHK: Police standing outside, point guns at students. Classes cancelled.

0825: Hang Hau. Citizens vandalise MTR stn, damaging facilities for a few mins before leaving.

0834: Sai Wan Ho. Blood vaguely seen on ground where sho*ting was earlier. Large number of ppl surrounding the crossing locked down by riot police.

0835: Wong Tai Sin. 1 man pepper sprayed by riot police at a bus stop near WTS Square.

0837: PolyU. Hong Chong Rd flanking the campus is blocked in both directions. A man threatens the citizens with a metal bar.

0840: Shatin. Police point live guns at people.

0857: PolyU. Citizens paint bus windshields red on Hong Chong Rd next to campus. Buses side by side blocking traffic are the best barricades. Police have just arrived.

0858: Eastern Hospital. Shot youth arrives at hospital, conscious, likely internal organ injured.

So in addition to shooting an unarmed and non-aggressive kid, police run over people with a motorcycle. Multiple times. And raise real guns with live bullets at people. Actual pre-meditated attempts to cause harm. Police out to kill today. It is only 0900.

0906:  Eastern Hospital. Police officers outside operating room where sho*ting victim is being treated. He is conscious though judging from the vids of him on the scene post-injury seems to indicate shock.

0914: Sai Wan Ho. Netizens identify officer who shot young man at close range.

0917: Netizens say that sheer number of incidents in the last couple of hours mean that it cannot be a coincidence. They conclude that police have been let off a leash and instructed to intensify use of force.

0918: Sham Shui Po. Students of Ying Wa College staged a sit-in at school gate and riot police detain a Form 2 student because they played Glory to Hong Kong on their phone. His schoolmates chant “release”. Now police are going after schoolchildren.

0918: CUHK. Shots heard, tear gas probably. Police closing in on HKU too.

0920: Sai Wan Ho. The whole area is furious after the shooting of a young man. Angry residents yell “eat sh*t!” at riot police as they come out of the MTR stn.

0921: CUHK. Over a dozen police and around 50 citizens+students in stand off on edge of campus

0921: Sai Wan Ho. Black flag after one object hurled from height.

0922: PolyU. ‘Redecoration’ on PolyU campus with pro-democracy slogans and historical quotes spray pained on pro-China shops on campus.

0925: Tseung Kwan O. Riot police point shotguns (note: live rounds will only be from handguns) at a crowd gathering inside the carpark where HKUST student Chow Tsz-Lok died. Crowd chants “Leave!”

0929: Sai Wan Ho. Citizens have found a name of one of the officers, they yell it and call “murderer” at the live round scene.

0929: HKU. Traffic blocked on Pok Fu Lam eastbound outside HKU and traffic in that direction backed up past the HKU MTR stn.

0934: HKU. Riot police on Pok Fu Lam outside HKU and The Belchers.

0940: CUHK. No staff around and police open fire after petrol bombs are tossed in their direction after the police invaded the campus, which is private property. That’s the equivalent of arresting you in your own house.

0941: HKU. A lot of riot police heading for HKU. West/southbound on Pok Fu Lam blocked by police so that they can clear road to move down.

0950: Yuen Long: Citizens stop train doors from closing, forcing eventual close of station. Long queues at nearby bus stops. Traffic chaos across the city as trains and roads are blocked.

1000: As of 10am, 13 ppl sent to emergency at public hospitals, age range 12-49yo.

1001: Tseung Kwan O. Police point pepper spray and demand ppl to remove masks.

Posted 1005: Riot police equipment in HK police car passing by the video owner is filmed to bear Guangzhou logos.

1010: Sai Wan Ho. Evidence collection by police at live round scene.

Unknown: Unknown. Resident: “[You used] three live bullets!” Police: “That’s too few!” Other resident: “Who is provoking people here?”

1005:  Eastern Hospital. Gunshot victim shot at point blank range undergoes surgery on liver and kidneys but bullet remains inside for quite a while. Needs right hemihepatectomy and right nephrectomy. Right kidney total laceration, right lobe liver laceration with right portal vein crushed. Bullet stuck near spine.

1008: Eastern Harbour Tunnel. Police set roadblock outside.

1019: HKU. Entrance is like a battlezone with riot police and students throwing rocks at one another (yes police throwing rocks too), while one block away, another entrance has students taking graduation photos.

1020: Yuen Long. Major road to urban area in Yuen Long blocked by citizens, traffic completely paralysed.

Posted 1022: Kwun Tong. Police stand in line at Kwun Tong MTR stn, refuse to allow paramedics to enter to save ppl. Paramedics forced to find alternative route.

1026: HKU. Student interviewed said that students were just going to stop traffic but police shot 2 at Sai Wan Ho, so that was why all strike actions across the city escalated.

1027: Sai Wan Ho. Tear gas.

1040: Yuen Long. Minor scuffles as people anxious to go to work try to remove road block set up by citizens.

1042: Sai Wan Ho. Citizens vandalise Sai Wan Ho MTR stn, police left scene earlier after firing tear gas at a heckling crowd.

1043: Wong Tai Sin. Many residents near a bus stop on Lung Cheung Rd shout “ki*llers” “r*pists” at police as they warn of using tear gas.

1045: Sai Wan Ho. Citizens form human chain to stop firefighters from putting out fire on a barricade, while apologising and thanking them at the same time.

1046: Tseung Kwan O. Multiple rounds of teargas fired at intersection of Tong Ming St and Tong Chun St.

1050: Tseung Kwan O. Tear gas at Sheung Tak carpark.

1051: Sai Wan Ho. Tear gas.

1052: HKU. Supply stations set up on campus.

1053: Sai Wan Ho. HK01 reporter breaks down and cries and screams at police to stop firing more tear gas as their daughter lives upstairs. “My daughter is upstairs! MY DAUGHTER IS UPSTAIRS! Stop firing teargas!”

1054: Tseung Kwan O. Police fire tear gas into Beverly Garden, some believed to have gotten into the residential building’s podium area.

1055: HKU. HKU MTR stn exit being vandalised and barricaded.

1055: Tuen Mun. Citizens push a bus out as a roadblock.

1055: Tseung Kwan O. Riot police go inside wet market of Beverly Garden and fire pepper spray at shop keepers and pedestrians, also contaminating all the produce and goods in the process.

1055: PolyU. Teargas at bridge connecting PolyU to Hung Hom MTR.

1057: PolyU. Multiple shots of tear gas and rubber bullets fired.

1100: Eastern Hospital. 21yo gunshot victim surnamed Chow in critical condition with liver injury. Upper abdominal was shot, right kidney and liver has been ruptured. Artery near liver is damaged leading to severe blood lost and currently in coma. Kidney removal is possible and bullet is now stuck on his back. Currently in surgery and medical staff have to perform CPR.

1105: HKU. 2 professors entreat students to seek non-violent means. Students are emotional, crying and shouting, because police are attacking and laying siege to campus even though students didn’t attack them. The shots were fired to kill judging from the aim. Conversation continues for several minutes before students disperse. Problem: There are many levels of violence. Are the profs claiming that only students are violent? Are shooting live bullets and chemical weapons and bashing heads violent? You can’t tell students to stand down when it is obvious that the moment they stand down, the police will come in to kill!

1105: PolyU. Students barricade the university as riot police prepare to storm.

Posted 1111: HKU, PolyU, CUHK: Riot police entered multiple university campuses in an unprecedented action since the protests began. It is against the law and the law forbades police from doing so unless with valid documents or permission.

1112: HKU, CUHK, PolyU. Police fire bullets and tear gas at multiple university campuses as they lay siege to them. Students form barricades and umbrella defence lines.

After 1100: PolyU. Police fire teargas towards university, causing a fire.

1112: Wong Tai Sin. 1 man tried removing the roadblocks and was beaten up.

1114: CUHK. Police fire bullets and students return with petrol bombs. Police unable to advance despite attacks.

1115: Sai Wan Ho. Riot police arrive to disperse crowd and later fired tear gas.

1116: PolyU. Multiple rounds of tear gas. Someone shot by unknown projectile.

1121: Choi Hung, Sai Wan Ho, Tseung Kwan O, HKU. Tear gas. Barricades up across city.

1125: Chinese troops found dressed like HK Police in a barrack this morning.

1127: CUHK. Teargas within campus. Earlier on teargas fired in PolyU and HKU.

1127: PolyU. Riot police still on bridge outside of PolyU.

1153: PolyU. PolyU Council student rep Owan Li said police entered campus earlier without permission.

1154: CUHK. Police fire beanbag rounds at students while they are INSIDE campus.

1156: CUHK. Sustained volleys of tear gas at CUHK. The volleys were done so that several van loads of police that remained could mount up and drive off. There was no need for the teargas to be fired and no need for police to even be there in the first place.

1158: PolyU. To enter the campus, riot police will have to dismantle creative barriers set up at every single exit. More than a dozen officers are stationed on both bridges connecting to the uni.

1200: Throughout New Territories region - Tin Shui Wai, Fanling, Sheung Shui, Shatin, Kwai Fong, Tung Chung, Tseung Kwan O etc.. Clashes between police and citizens.

Unknown, morning: Mongkok. Riot police point guns at ppl.

1205: Tseung Kwan O. A very very old lady is arrested and cuffed with hands behind back. She is very old...estimate mid 80s to 90s. She’s so shrunken due to old age that she is only half the height of the officer.

1205: CUHK. Police shoot teargas into campus after students’ defence line advances towards entrance. Exchange of bullets and bricks. Then police drive off. Traffic on Tai Po Rd still blocked.

1210: Police say that claims that police management have ordered frontline officers to use firearms recklessly today are false and malicious. Right~~~~How can you even use them recklessly without being allowed to by the higher-ups? What they say doesn’t match with what is happening.

Unknown: MTR - Ma On Shan line (Shek Mun to Wu Kai Sha) are closed.

Unknown: Tsuen Wan. Men in black hoodies (identity unknown) out on streets.

Unknown: Hung Hom. Ppl in black throw stuff down from overhead bridge by the Cross-Harbour Tunnel, tunnel has been blocked.

1217: Central. Ppl shout at riot police across Pedder St. Angry flashmob gathering, ppl accuse officers of “m*rder” after the sho*ting,

1222: Central. Blue flag at Pedder and Connaught. Leaving office to get lunch is now an illegal assembly.

1230: Central. Blue flag at Des Voeux Rd. Pedder St blocked by thousands of citizens staring down riot cops on the corner.

1232: Central. Many more riot police arrive, appear to be preparing for offensive action.

1234: PolyU. Riot police fire teargas in direction of university from the footbridge over Cross-Harbour Tunnel tollbooth. There are 2 parallel bridges, one is the PolyU.

1235: A man set on fire. Man gets into quarrel with black-clad citizens. Video captures him chasing after the group of citizens, who appear to run off in great and unusual panic as if he has a weapon, though the video does not show much of him except at the start and end. Both sides are on a footbridge and then continue altercation. Someone suddenly douses him in flammable liquid and sets him on  fire. He is sent to hospital. Swift condemnation across political spectrum and citizens reiterate importance of bottom line of decency. HK gov immediately issues statement condemning “rioters” although identity of attacker is unknown and investigations have not begun. Seem pretty eager to push it onto protesting citizens.

1236: Central. Orange and black flags together. The entire area is full of lunchtime office workers. When even the most passive office lady in the financial district is this angry, you know smth is very wrong with the city, the gov and the police.

1240: Eastern Hospital. 21yo gunshot victim out of surgery, bullet removed. Right kidney and liver ruptured. In ICU.

1240: Central. Pepper spray, police move towards Lan Kwai Fong direction from Pedder St. Police rush forward and subdued a few person. Heavy use of batons. One person has shirt torn.

1242: 100 police standing right smack in the main intersection of Central threatening firearms and gas to citizens as police accuse citizens of blocking the road???? Look who’s blocking the road?

1245: Central. Huge crowd chanting and flipping off police in the heart of the business district. They had no gear, knew they were going to get tear gassed, and sarcastically applauded.

1248: Central. 6 shots of teargas.

1252: Central. Office workers flee into malls and office towers to get medical treatment after police gas them.

1253: Central. Volleys of tear gas on Pedder St and Des Voeux Rd when riot police are outnumbered.

1253: 1 office worker hit in back of head by teargas canister, he is bleeding quite a lot.

1253: Ma On Shan. A man set on fire. He was in a quarrel, then chased protesting citizens to footbridge. The citizens appear to be fleeing in unusual panic as if he has a weapon but the vid I looked at isn’t clear about this. He chases them to the bridge and quarrel continues. Then someone douses him in flammable liquid and sets him on fire. Swift condemnation across political spectrum. Gov immediately issues statement condemning “rioters” but the identity of the attacker is unknown and the accusation is made without conducting an investigation.

1309: Citizens return to Pedder St after teargas attack. Police also have reinforcements.

1312: Tung Chung. Riot police came out and briefly brutalised ppl walking on the square. Then left. Absolutely pointless.

1314: Central. Citizens chant defiantly in front of riot police cordon on Pedder St. Crowd is getting bigger and people are spilling over to nearby streets.

1315: Central. Police attempt to capture a black-clad girl, citizens cover her with their bodies and umbrellas as police spray countless rounds of pepper spray at super close range and try to grab her.

Posted 1321: Choi Hung. Road outside MTR stn covered in thick opaque black smoke. Road barricades ablazed.

1325: Central. For a long while of the post-gas standstill, the guy in greyish blue shirt was standing in front of the crowd on Pedder alone, facing riot police. Slogan flag is flying on the front line. All of a sudden people behind him began to walk to police and the protest frontline advanced 100m, prompting tear gas warning. Standoff ensues.

1329: Sai Wan Ho. Police storm Catholic church (Sai Wan Ho Holy Cross Church) to arrest 5 ppl. First time police enter religious place of worship without warrant and permission. Police plant hammer into backpack of one of the arrested. One has white liquid running from nose. Ambulance called but police block rescue. Church deacon 陈玉強 lied to crowd that he would send those 5 to ambulance but sent them to police van instead. He says that police told him that police have right to enforce law inside church. Police immediately sped off to police station and point riot gun at crowd left on road. Parishioners and other staffers slam this deacon for betraying the church. Deacon Chen said that he can’t do anything and had no power to stop them - which is a lie because said church issued a document detailing protocols on how to deal with this possibility. He then says that police have the right to enter and arrest ppl and there is uproar from the church members. Angry crowd encircled and questioned deacon for 15 mins, “Why didn’t you protect us?” Church is private property. Similar to homes, residential estates and buildings, and universities. If police wish to enter but do not have court-issued warrant and at the same time, permission from church, police cannot enter. If police force entry, church staff on duty have responsibility to inform the head in-charge, who will in turn inform the management board and lawyer. The lawyer will speak to the police and staff are allowed to film the process as evidence. This has very great implications for freedom of religion. CCP has a very nasty ongoing history of suppressing religion. For anyone pro-China, Party and regime loyalty always overrides everything, including religion and humanity. This is backed by a lot of evidence, history, observation and my own experience.

1330: Kwun Tong. Riot police charge heckling crowds, making arrests and beating arrestees nonstop even after subduing them.

1331: Unknown. Riot police just charged an escalator, grabbed a girl in black from behind and started beating her brutally. Heartbreaking screams.

1334: Central. Black flag.

1334: The Education Bureau has dismissed a suggestion by the Hong Kong Professional Teachers’ Union to suspend classes of all schools on Monday afternoon, saying it is not necessary at the moment. Gov wants to maintain facade that everything is ok, and is willing to put lives of young kids at risk just to do that. Then again, the gov and police have been so actively targeting the young that it’s not surprising that they are willing to make them suffer this risk. They can’t wait for the youth to just die, judging from how they are sho*ting and beating them.

1338: Central. Several rounds of teargas on Pedder St. Police charging. Difficult for citizens to disperse due to traffic jam on Queen’s Rd. Many badly affected. Expiry dates on canisters have all been rubbed out in recent weeks.

1341: Central. Tear gas, rubber bullets.

1347: CUHK. Police shoot numerous rubber bullets, sponge bullets at No.2 bridge. Police point guns and warn citizens that they are in illegal assembly. Ridiculous. Students in university are exempt by law.

1349: Central. More tear gas and chase. Police leave.

1351: Eastern Hospital. Hospital staff stage protest against police brutality. This is where the gunshot victim is.

1355: Central. Protesting citizens as far as the eye can see. All sorts of ppl.

1356: Eastern Hospital. Parents and children arrive at hospital to make signs to send well-wishes to gunshot victim.

1358: Central. Tear gas in Central only begets a more daring crowd, now on Connaught Road.

1400: Wong Tai Sin. Crowd not very big.

1407: CUHK. Constant barrage of tear gas and projectiles fired towards students. Countless shots fired.

Shortly after 1400: CUHK. Riot police storm CUHK again, making multiple arrests.

1410: Central. Thousands now marching east on Connaught Rd.

1418: Central. Thousands march through streets. “Hongkongers, revenge!” 1419: Central. March gets near PLA Garrison HQ and then turned around and headed back west toward Central.

1430: Tai Po. Teargas.

1440: Wong Tai Sin. More gun-pointing without any flag raised. Only drew more heckling from crowd.

1446: CUHK. More teargas. Police storm campus and make at least 3 arrests. Police continue to fire endless amount of sponge grenades, rubber bullets and tear gas. Students are asking “Where are our school representatives?” At least a hundred are guarding campus as school leadership continues being MIA.

1506: MTR-  North and southbound services on the intercity through train closed.

1506: CUHK. Police charge into the CUHK campus in Sha Tin again to fire more tear gas rounds and rubber bullets at students, who hit back by throwing bricks.

1526: Central. Central is quiet but not done yet - ppl lay bricks out on road to slow police advance.

1527: Tai Po. Multiple rounds of tear gas are fired in Tai Wo Road, near to the Mega Mall in Tai Po. Citizens are refusing to leave the area and gather in On Pong Road.

1544: Central. A Bank of China branch was lit. Police advance eastward from Sheung Wan to Central on Des Voeux Rd and shoot teargas at mostly empty street. Most citizens have cleared out.

1558: Kwai Hing. Multiple rounds of tear gas are fired in Tai Wo Road, near to the Mega Mall in Tai Po. Citizens are refusing to leave the area and gather in On Pong Road.

1558: PolyU. Student union strongly condemns police, accusing them of descending on the campus to make arrests without advanced notice. A statement accuses riot police and plainclothes officers of using batons to attack students and passersby, before firing rounds of tear gas and beanbag rounds. The union also criticises university management, saying it was too slow to cancel classes during the unrest.

1621: Central. Riot police are advancing on Chater Garden in Central, removing barricades as they go.At the other side of the square, citizens retreat to outside Cheung Kong Tower. The two sides are 20 metres apart.

1622: HKU. Roads around campus have been blocked for hours although clashes with riot police have not continued into the aftnn unlike at CUHK.

1624: Police say officer that carried out Charlottesville attacks on motorcycle has been suspended. However, said officer has been singled out for praise by Chinese state media and on Weibo. Also, officer only on leave, not fired nor disciplined.

1624: Tai Po. Tear gas. Affected citizens move quickly to reclaim Tai Wo Road outside Mega Mall.

1628: Central. An electricity box on Queensway is lit as protesters retreating from Central towards Wan Chai.

1636: Police presscon. Police said some citizens tried to steal the gun of one of the officers, so he fired the first live round as a warning, but the shot hit one of them. Police presscon says officer’s life was under serious threat. This is contrary to video evidence and eyewitness accounts.

1636: Gunshot victim out of surgery and in stable condition.

1646: Police presscon. Police mention claims by a woman that she was raped by four officers inside Tsuen Wan Police Station in September.“We have gone through CCTV footage inside the police station in the relevant didn’t find the presence of the woman.” This is contrary to evidence and accounts.

1651: It is announced that Carrie Lam will speak at 1800.

1655: Tai Po. Tear gas outside Tai Po Police Station.

1703: Police presscon. TVB (pro-China) asks for apology for shooting tear gas at cameraman. Police do not apologise and blame reporters for standing between police and citizens.

1709: Wanchai. Barricades on Hennessy Rd with bamboo pole. Citizens wer chased by police from Central to Wanchai.

1713: Police presscon.  Reporters ask police several times why an officer manhandled the shot protester into a sitting position in Sai Wan Ho. Police say case will be thoroughly investigated - they are playing Taichi with reporters’ questions. Police also defend their entry into university campuses, claiming that officers can enter upon reasonable suspicion that an offence is committed. This is false. As mentioned many times, university campuses are private and require warrant and permission of heads for them to enter. Campuses have campus security to take care of many things. Also, there is no offence being committed. Police claim illegal assembly, but law states that students on campus are not considered under it.

Unknown: Unknown. Video circulating - CCTV footage showing HK police breaking into private residences to arrest innocent tenants in the middle of the night by climbing over iron fences.

1714: Wanchai. Police arriving rapidly, most citizens have fled towards Causeway Bay.

1727: Wong Tai Sin. Riot police left a square in Wong Tai Sin at around 5pm, after spending three hours there. Immediately after they left, protesters went to a nearby bus stop and loosened paving blocks and threw them onto Lung Cheung Road to block traffic.They also threw blocks onto the other carriageway.

1734: Kwun Tong, Tai Po, Tin Shui Wai. Protests continue, tear gas fired intermittently.

1736: Causeway Bay. Tear gas on Hennessy Rd. Police charge.

1739: Nathan Rd. 50 riot police at Waterloo Rd and 10+ Special Tactical Squad with gas masks on at intersection with Nathan Rd.

1746: Tseung Kwan O. Hundreds of secondary school students, many masked and wearing uniform, have joined a rally to protest against police violence and to support calls for a class strike until Wednesday.

1751: Tseung Kwan O. Citizens set up a roadblock.

1752: Causeway Bay. Police pull out of area, most head to Tin Hau, 2 vans to Wanchai. As soon as they leave, residents and shoppers re-block Hennessy Rd. Still no traffic moving either way.

1752: Mongkok. Teargas on Nathan Rd.

1803: Causeway Bay. Police return in large numbers again. Harass bystanders as they try to unblock road again. Same old pattern.

1809: Carrie Lam calls Hong Kongers “enemies of the people”, which is a very Communist phrase. Considering that 80% of the population is in revolt, Lam ought to retake Mathematics so that she can correctly see who is truly the enemy of the people. Tens of thousands of people getting attacked every day by police and gov and here she calls the victims, “enemies”.

1820: Causeway Bay. Teargas at a few hundred ppl on the pavement.

1846: North Point. Most protesters appear to have called it a day. They have changed clothes in a dark corner while police clear barricades in the area.

1846: Wong Tai Sin. Traffic on Lung Cheung Road has returned to normal after about 30 police officers cleared debris, including paving blocks, from the carriageway at around 1730.

1848: Causeway Bay. Paterson St tear gas.

1851: Causeway Bay. Police arrest a girl in school uniform who is in the vicinity just outside SOGO.

1853: Eastern Hospital. Gunshot victim Chow remains in critical condition, but is stable in that “there is no immediate risk of death, though things may change at any time”.

1854: Causeway Bay. Hennessy Rd, tras abandoned.

1900: Chai Wan. Tear gas, near wet market.

1901: Mongkok. Bricks and barricades laid out.

1901: Causeway Bay, Sheung Shui. Tear gas.

1902: As of 1600, 64 people have been injured in the clashes today and sent to hospitals for treatment, according to the Hospital Authority. These include two in critical condition, five in serious condition and 35 who are stable. The remaining 22 have been discharged.

1907: Causeway Bay. Yee Wo St, tear gas. Police charge, arrest several.

1910: MTR has announced that the following eight stations will be closed from 9pm: Yau Ma Tei, Mong Kok, Wong Tai Sin, Causeway Bay, Siu Hong, Long Ping, Sha Tin Wai and Heng On. As of Monday evening, 18 stations have already been closed: Kwai Fong, Kwai Hing, Kwun Tong, Whampoa, Sai Wan Ho, Tsueng Kwan O, Hang Hau, Sha Tin, Fo Tan, University, Tai Po Market, Tai Wo, Fanling, Sheung Shui, Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau, Ma On Shan and Tung Chung.

1916: MTR -  Yau Ma Tei MTR station, which was originally set to close at 9pm, is now ending services.

1921: Yau Ma Tei. Barricades have been set up again in Yau Ma Tei, with more than 100 protesters throwing bricks on the road. They also pull out road signs.

1946: Mongkok. Water cannon sprays protesters at the junction of Nathan Road and Argyle Street. The jets of water are laced with tear gas. Protesters hurl bricks at riot police in return, who respond with volleys of tear gas.  

Universities cancel classes and graduation ceremonies.
