Tumblr bots and scammers really need to learn how to cater to their Tumblr audience. Look, all I'm saying is they'd be much more successful at robbing people if their spam messages/asks looked like this:

PSA for New Users/Blank Blogs/Ageless Blogs

If you keep getting blocked from content creator blogs there are three major reasons and ways to fix them.

🚩🚩🚩This is a Huge RED flag!🚩🚩🚩

1. Update your avatar. Anything besides the default picture.

2. Update your blog title and description. "Untitled" is a red flag that you are a bot. Something as simple as "Here for the fanfic! 18+" will do it. If you want to follow an 18+ blog, add your age range or 18+ to the blog title/description to let them know you are an adult.

3. Reblog or post something to let us know you aren't just a bot. You can reblog some of your favorite content or make a post that just says "Human. Please don't block me!"

4. Please respect others' boundaries. If a blog says they are 18+, don't follow them if you are a minor. If a blog posts things you aren't interested in, unfollow or block them.

Most of all, be kind. Kindness costs nothing and means everything.

I don't know how they're doing it, but bot accounts are following me without me getting a notification.

According to Tumblr, I have gotten 9 new followers in the last month but I found 15 bots that have followed me within the last month.

So I guess this is a friendly PSA. Check your followers list for bots even if you're not getting notifications of new followers because they're slipping past Tumblr's notification system.

FYI to everyone, I've been getting a lot of new bot followers lately, but they don't show up on my activity feed at all. No 'you've got a new follower' email. Nothing. The only reason I've noticed them is because my follower count has gone up randomly. I've already blocked like 5 or so in the last couple days. Watch out for yourselves.

um, hey @staff, I’ve been on his hellsite for over a decade and never reached out like this before but this situation requires it. There’s a serious bot following spam problem right now. It’s worse than the previous spam bot issue.

They pop up in batches of like 10+ and for every block and report more appear and they multiply. today alone I went from 777 followers to 1090 and all of those are bots.

I’m not even joking. It’s frustrating, and blocking and reporting takes such a long time when you’re combing through literally hundreds of bots on your follow list tapping through the report and block process

I’m not the only blog this is happening to. I’ve messaged support but got the automated message saying y’all are working on a permanent solution, but can y’all please come up with a patch or a temporary solution because this is out of hand? Can you make it so we can batch block and report at least? I appreciate the work you’ve done so far, and I hope this can be resolved because this is sucking the fun out of this hellsite I’ve called home since 2010
