She’s a script editor for movies and tvvvv SO CLOSE to what her original goal was but no cigar. I imagine she does freelance editing and stuff on the side too, ambitious rascal that she is. And she fosters her sewing hobby so maybe he looks longingly at the costume departments doing their thing too lol. I really think she’s happy here, doing creative behind the scenes stuff. It’s not what she wanted before, wanting to be the one in front of the camera for the attention money and fame, but I think she finds it fulfilling to help things along in a creative project like this even if she resents the fact no one ever notes the names in the credits that aren’t the director and actors. Because casey really does genuinely like film and cinema and tv and stuff so she does like being in the atmosphere in some way.

Maybe early on she struggles with feel like she’s “giving up” by taking on another job that wasn’t an acting one (this mentality is also why she’s resistant to job hunting early in roommate arc) but life has to move on. After Nell is injured and retires as a stupidhero she has to get a job to help with finances. She hasn’t completely given up on her acting dream because she still goes to the occasional audition but at this point it’s .. taking a back seat. But she doesn’t feel like she’s failed or her life is empty the way she did when booster fired her and she started to spiral WHY? Well because Nell is with her -_- .. at this point in their relationship she realizes she loves nell more than she wants her to keep playing bodyguard as a superhero to her and even if things are uncertain with her day job she doesn’t feel like ditching her cuz she can no longer give her anything at the moment because of her injury. So she doesn’t mind being the breadwinner for a minute while nell heals up because of that.

She genuinely enjoys busywork and having something to do during the day and somewhere to put all that crazy drive and ambition, so she’s much happier.. it brings a tear to my eye.

One must imagine casey and nell going to a basically mediocre movie neither of them really liked all for spotting caseys name in the credits at the end after everyone left the theater
