It's completely baffling to me the difference between Twitter and Tumblr that I've personally experienced.

On Twitter I saw a cute little c!beeduo fan art that got deleted like 2 days later becauss "it could maybe be taken as romantic I'm so sorryyyyyy :((" (I have edited that for dramatization purposes, no hate to the artist).

Here I could post "c!beeduo in gay love forever they're smoochin as we speak" And the crowds would cheer

(Just adding a little note here this is in no way hating on the artist that made said fan art, they have every right to post and delete their art as they please. I just used it as an example. Also if you're reading this go hydrate ^^ )

People harassing LavenderTowne

I've seen people on Twitter harass LavenderTowne for making Velma Korean. And I think a lot of you guys need to think and consider several things:

All of you who think she made her white, she didn't.

Velma is only Indian in this series because it's Mindy Kaling's vanity project, not for genuine reasons, so frankly making her Indian isn't mandatory. I don't see people coming at her for making Daphne black rather than Chinese.

Many Indians actually pointed out the rep in this series is poor and they didn't want a racebent Velma. So, again, stop bullying her. She can make her own hcs, it's her version. If you want to make her Indian in your version, be my guest, but she wasn't made Indian for good reasons, you must remember that.

She clearly was basing them on the actual versions, the originals, she literally put a picture of German Jewish Velma in the video beside her redesign.

She isn't being whitewashed not only because LT didn't make her white, but her canon default background is German Jewish, so she technically wasn't Indian in the first place.

While Indian Jews exist, Velma probably isn't Jewish in this version, which might be seen as antisemitic.

Velma has been Japanese, so I don't see the fuss people are making as necessary.

You're just being rude and half of the Twitter posts are calling her design "problematic", when the VELMA SHOW is problematic, for many reasons beyond race. Remember in this show, Shaggy is black and a druggie in denial, they fetishize gay relationships by having Velma and Daphne become a couple right after they fight with each other, Daphne is Chinese and now not only joins the trens of Chinese Mean Girls in cartoons, but also is a drug dealer with hints of Dragon Lady. So, this is not something people should be triggered over.
