More Diasomnia Arc goes on, more I wanted to do an illustration with Malleus's Overbolt form inspired by one of Evylind Earle's Maleficent concept art for Maleficent and Sleeping Beauty. When I started to sketch some ideas, Part 4 has been released and... I wasn't expected so such angst, such much sadness. There was since the beginning of that Arc but... It's just... I cannot find the words. Certainly, with Idia, Malleus's Arc is and will one of the most saddess and emotional.

I think that the song To Edge of Night fits well with all of this...

While Malleus becoming that dangerous, dark Dragon-Fea Lord, like in old fairies tales, he try desperately to protect the lasts gleam of light... The ones of his family, friends and love ones... Even if the price to pay is that all in plunged in darkness and dream world...

funny thing happened while i was playing the last chapter of diasomnia’s book.

my game got disconnected and it took me a little while to reconnect. it was already the time for the reset when i reconnected and i got into the daily log in screen only to find idia there (i didn’t think to take a screenshot since i was still short circuited after that ending).

like, where were you sir? this whole island is now your responsibility.

Just to recap Lilia’s absolute love for his children:

Dragon eggs can’t hatch without “true love” aka “parental love.” Lilia believed he wasn’t capable of having those emotions, therefore he could not hatch Malleus’s egg if both of his parents died. And yet, and yet, Malleus hatched under the love and care of Lilia.

Lilia learned to love with Malleus (or a better way to say this, learned that he could love with Malleus)

Lilia sings Mallenore’s (Malleus’s mother) lullaby to Malleus often as a child

Silver was put under a spell by the fairies to sleep until the war was over. He could only be woken up by someone who truly loved him. Lilia finds him sleeping as a baby, still under the spell. Guess who wakes up?

Lilia upon meeting baby Silver, talks gently to Silver and says he looks a lot like Malleus when he was a baby. Lilia sings Mallenore’s lullaby to Silver too

He blesses Silver to be blessed by the night. He names him Silver because Silver radiates light, and “like the moon that lights the dark sky, Silver will light the dark path.”

Lilia does everything to learn how to raise a human, including buying baby formula/milk powder. He sings him to sleep.

Child Silver gives Lilia an acorn bracelet so that he can live a long time. Lilia responds, “…I feel I can live another thousand years with this bracelet.”

Anyways, a huge shout out for Mama Maleanor for doing all the hard work in creating the most beautiful dragon fae ever after herself. Your hard work is very much appreciated by me and the rest of Malleus fanatics.

well, I can't say I expected the new chapter to feature Idia (metaphorically) going to (metaphorical) hell, getting a pep talk from his (metaphorical) Phantom brother which helps him finally move on once and for all from his brother's death, and (metaphorically) overblotting again to fight his way back out of (metaphorical) hell, only to have his darkest fear (non-metaphorically) come true when his mom goes through his computer and finds all his secret files. but I am glad it did!

also this is all a flashback for the purpose of explaining to our group what the heck is going on (whether or not any of it is getting through is another matter)

After all that happened this december during the last part of Chapter 7, I really wanted to paint some Malleus's birthday art with a hope note.

I always love Enya's work for Lord of the Rings: the Fellowship of the Ring. I think “May it be“ suit well to Malleus about his current personal journey.

It's about departures, of being far away, ... About friendships and all the persons we meet and bond with.

About love and new beginnings... Just as a warm dawn during winter.

you know in book 7, malleus’ um put everyone into a deep sleep with each of their own dreams where their wishes come true. i wonder if my dream would be like those reverse harem yandere fanfic featuring the whole twst cast because ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ yeah, that’s where my wish would come true.

but if i ever found out that either malleus or silver (or anyone) walked into my dream and see the whole thing, i probably would never recover and be able to face reality anymore. malleus would easily achieve his goal to have the subject of his curse to never want to wake up anymore because i wouldn’t be able to live with the shame.
