Not me thinking about how after book 7 meeting Maleficia is going to be way more stressful for Yuu.
Malleus is having the "but mother I love him" moment with his grandma and Yuu is standing there sweating bullets having flashbacks to Meleanor and hoping to not get a repeat of that.

A little mini-comic I made for fun and after a long conversation with my best friend about malleus's family and Episode 7 which made me plan to adopt malleus ಥ‿ಥ (although he could adopt my grandparent as his children and it will work but we aren't here to judge ◉‿◉)

“It won’t be easy being with him.”
You paused from drinking your tea before raising your eyes to the Queen.
You were having tea with Malleus’ Grandma, Queen Maleficia.
The Queen looked at you with a solemn stare.
You knew what she was referring to.
Humans and Fae, eventually one will live without the other. The end result would always be pain…
…but you believe otherwise.
You straightened your posture and stared the Queen on.
“It won’t be easy but there will always be love. I would rather live till the end of my days by his side then run away from the fear of pain.”
You closed your eyes and smiled as you recalled your fiancée’s face from that morning.
“Besides, I believe no matter how many lifetimes I live, I will always find and love him.”
The Queen stared you, the echoes of her daughter and son-in-law could be seen in your and her grandson's form.
The Queen recalled the determined stare and words her grandson had stated when she had told him the same.
Queen Maleficia smiled, the love that had been missing for so long in the castle, in Briar Valley, has finally returned.
“In you two, I can believe true love exists again.”

happy april fools!!!
my joke for today... maleficia being forced to wear minimalist clothes so as to disguise as an employee.... inspired by that voiceline of Malleus being uncomfortable to clothes he doesn't wear XD
also ... a little hc where Maleficia is the type of grandma to say "its because you're always on that phone" (bcs i think she dislikes technology esp bcs its a human invention that give power to the humans to defeat the faes lol)but in her case, its just malleus and his little gao gao dragon 😭😭💥💥 its confiscated from him now for all eternity,,,😔😔💔💔
and the funny thing is,, she aint wrong XDD Gao Gao was one of the perpetrators in overblotting Malleus,, giving him ideas of eternally cursing us to a repeated happy dreams😭😭💥💥
you'd think Yuu would be better but they also said "yes" if there's a way to keep everyone with you 🧍🏻‍♀️💥 why are Malleus' friends such a bad influence to him....
ALSO YES IM STILL NOT OVER GUYS. IM MANIFESTING IT SO BAD, I KNOWWW THEY'LL REVEAL QUEEN MALEFICIA... IN QUEEN DRACONIA, WE TRUST 🙏🏻🙏🏻✨💖💖
also I still believe that Queen Maleficia IS THE MOST FITTING person to beat Malleus... Think about it, shes aware of the pressures of being a royalty, shes a person who loses loved ones, and shes someone who has troubles fitting with the average because of her power, like I'm JUSTTSJFGK She's so relatable to Malleus 🥹 If there's any character that would COMPLETELY understand Malleus' struggles, it would be HER. ALSO because she's more powerful than him XD ALSO because if theres anyone that could crush Malleus' prideful attitude rn, ITS HER. 😭
the way I jaw dropped when Malleus seems to be ready to go against Maleficia ☠️☠️☠️ like oh.... hornton.... thats not going to end well for him isnt it skdgkd,,, 🙏🏻🙏🏻☠️💥 plus isn't pridefulness the downfall of Maleficent in the original movie... Malleus' pride increasing so much, he convinced himself to turn against his grandparent WHOSE teaching like "you must always protect the smiles of your people" has been his life oath.... 😭😭😭

True Love’s Kiss
M!reader x Malleus Draconia, Reader is partially inspired by Stephan from the Maleficant movies.
Tumblr media
A small hair ornament was the last he possessed of him; it had a peculiar shape, resembling one of a butterfly‘s, made of the finest of silvers and its rims decorated with the rarest of jewels. He had hidden it out of plain sight, placing it deep inside the drawer by his desk. This way, He had thought, he would never have to set his eyes on the cursed object again— one tainted with the past, because after all, Malleus didn’t like the bittersweet feeling of nostalgia.
His hand rested on the handle of the drawer— feeling the cold and smooth surface on his bare skin. Malleus gave it a final thought before pulling it open, he was greeted with the usual sight; notes and books.
Suddenly a small object fluttered out of the drawer. When the hair ornaments had not just flown, but even landed on the shoulder of the prince, saying that he was surprised was an understatement. As if it had a mind of its own, the silver butterfly landed, flapping its wings twice before flying in the direction where the door stood. When it noticed Malleus hadn’t done what it wanted, it stopped midtrack before flying back — pulling on his sleeve in the direction it was originally heading. Malleus stared perplex, unknowing what to do, while the butterfly mustered up all its strength to pull on his sleeve one last time. As if feeling its desperation, Malleus decides to do as instructed and followed the sentient hair ornament.
It led a path, one he wasn’t sure where it would bring him. He walks carefully, taking in his surroundings. The sun had already set, and darkness had already blanketed all across its lands; the only remaining light source on this path being that of the butterflys, as it shimmered alongside the moon and the stars.
Unexpectedly the journey came to a halt, the hair ornament landed back on Malleus’ shoulder. The building in front of him was one he had never seen before— Its age and history showing within the condition the prince found it in, nature had already attempted to return and break its material back to what it once was. Malleus reaches out, before gently pushing the gate open.
Vines, flowers, and ivy had already decorated the cathedral-like building— it was unmistakably a place that had very few visitors, but he didn't mind, he liked the solace in places such as this. He had thought of this as nothing more than another abandoned building he would explore.
The sound of his footsteps was the only thing to be heard. There was a narrow path that led to the main entrance. Without much force, the door pried open revealing its insides. Just like the exterior, the interior was pleasant to look at. Many intricate frescoes adorned the walls and ceiling, each painted with care and thought by a skilled artisan.
The space within was vast— high-vaulted ceilings held up by towering pillars; a combination of both created a sense of grandeur and awe. Malleus was taken aback, as this place did not look to be abandoned. Fresh flowers decorated the hall, smelling intoxicatingly sweet.
Suddenly the butterfly left his side again— flying toward the heart of the building. It landed on an object of peculiar shape, wrapped in a dark velvet fabric. Without much thought, Malleus approaches the object— each step careful as not to crush the bouquets of fresh orchids and lilies laying on the ground. His pale hand that seemed to illuminate under the moonlight, reaches out for the velvet before removing it in one swift motion.
Malleus’ eyes widen, an unexpected face appeared; one he was familiar with and had grown fond of in the past, one that was especially strange to see under these circumstances. Behind the glass panel was the face of his beloved— no this couldn’t be. It had been nearly five centuries— surely a mere human wouldn’t be intact for that long, not in this condition. It was as if the one within the coffin was in a deep state of slumber; nothing pointed to the cause of death, nothing was decomposing, not a single sign of discomfort that he might’ve had before his death lingered in his face nor in his aura— it was truly as if he was just asleep.
Malleus’ thoughts were interrupted with a loud thud. The sentient hair ornament had flown against the glass, as if not learning a lesson it continued flying against it, only to be rejected again and again. “Do you wish to return to your owner?” he asked even tho he knew the answer; after all this was everything that (M/n) left behind for him, this very piece of jewelry. Magical clouds began circling the coffin, Malleus motioned with his finger before lifting the case with a spell. Immediately, the butterfly rushes to (M/n)’s side— nuzzling against the crook of his neck as if it searched for a warmth the corpse couldn't provide.
Before him stood evidence that the hatred Malleus bore deep within his heart, whom he directed at this individual, had emerged from a false accusation : It wasn't (M/n) who parted with him, it was death himself who had taken him by force.
As he watched the butterfly readjust it's position, Malleus’ heart grew numb, his mind hazy and his body heavy. He now wished (M/n) had lived the life he had imagined for him: One where he got to witness all the wonders of life, achieve all the goals he had told him about on that faithful night under the night sky, and most importantly, one where his body grew and changed alongside him.
But this (M/n) laying so lifelessly before Malleus, looked no older than when he last saw him.
Malleus sits down on the edge of the coffin— his head hung low. He had known for a long time that it was impossible for (M/n) to return, after all it's been centuries, but now he was being forced to face it head on, the tiny amount of hope he had, borne by denial was crushed.
“Child of man, I wasn't able to bid you farewell during our last meeting, so I shall make it up to you this time..” He spoke, his voice echoing throughout the halls in an eerie manner. The prince leans down, gently tucking (M/n)’s hair before placing a soft kiss on his forehead. “Rest well, my dear (M/n)” he whispers, before pulling away.

It wouldn’t be surprising if people had given up on Malleus, especially after supposedly spending how long in his egg? And without his parents to supply him with the love he needed to hatch
Imagine the relief and joy Lilia must’ve felt when the first crack in Malleus’s egg appeared. The absolutely disbelief as the shell began to crack away and a lil baby Malleus appeared, looking like a healthy little boy
Grandma Maleficia too! Like that’s her grandson! So much time has passed and she finally gets to hold the child her daughter left behind
It’s no wonder that his birthday is a national holiday

Just how old is Malleus’s grandmother? A total(ally) serious rant.
Words cannot explain about the sudden rant rush in my head during the most random moments.
Like what do you mean this woman survived a war, has been reigning for centuries, outlived her own daughter AND is near outliving her own grandson’s guardian?
WHY IS NO ONE RANDOMLY THINKING OF THIS??
IS NO ONE CONSIDERING HOW LILIA WAS LITERALLY TAKEN IN BY THIS WOMAN???
Plus, the whole age ranges of fae in twisted wonderland sometimes doesn’t make sense to me 😭
This woman is well over a millennium old cause ain’t no way
Not to mention I fear this woman will disintegrate in any second.
SHE’S BEEN REIGNING FOR TOO DAMN LONG
Remember the jokes about how old Lilia was BEFORE we found out his canon age???
CAN WE GO BACK TO THAT EXCEPT DO IT WITH MALLEUS’S GRANDMOTHER???
IT WAS NEVER LILIA THAT SAW THE DINOSAURS IT WAS QUEEN MALEFICIA ALL ALONG
QUEEN MALEFICIA HAS BEEN THE QUEEN ELIZABETH II OF TWISTED WONDERLAND ALL ALONG.
Istg if twisted wonderland reveals she’s anything less than a millennium old I’m jumping out a window.

she should hate the boy.
she should despise him with a vengeance known only to the raging wildfires and wailing widows; he is the living, breathing, defiant symbol of all that she has lost, a near millennia of promised, joyous future destroyed by the cruel, greedy hands of his kind—
and her own.
she should hate the boy, but it is difficult to feel any emotion other than pity and sorrow as she gazes upon those vulnerable, hunched shoulders as he leans over the balcony railing from the rooms that he had been given, staring out across the dreary landscape of a blustery winter's eve in the briar valley hinterlands.
they are both alone now; ancient queen and newfound prince. the boy had taken the loss of malleus and sebek to the fae's overblot with appropriate grief and devastation, but not even she could have imagined the outpouring of desolation from the human at the realization of vanrouge's passing. there had been bleak whispers from the palace servants that they should be so lucky that the boy did not possess malleus' talent for the elements— briar valley would have never again seen the sun.
perhaps it would have been deserved, a punishment for the damage her grandson had wrought. a punishment borne by the living, borne so disproportionally by a boy who wished to fall asleep once more and never wake to a world where he had been cursed to be alone, in a future where no one but he had survived.
she steps out gracefully to the veranda, the ghost of her breath bleeding warmth into the air around the frigid limbs of the boy who takes his watchful place along the railing every evening at nightfall.
maleficia cannot hate him.
"have you success tonight?" she asks, as she has for every night since.
the boy shakes his head, unable to pry his eyes away from the dark treetops as they smudge the horizon, as dark as the bruises beneath his eyes.
she hums, and they stand there quietly together, exposed to the bitter chill— no longer royal, no longer a species apart. merely two hearts alike in grief and ruined by the passage of time.
"perhaps tomorrow," she replies, as she has for every night. "perhaps the bats will return then."

I think Ch. 7/4 may have just given us both Crowley's identity as well as the identity of his "dear esteemed benefactor"
Obvs. Spoilers Ahead in this analysis and speculative hypothesis (which will link the prologue to the current events in Ch. 7):
This moment is the moment that sent me down this rabbit hole:
Tumblr media
General Lilia essentially calling Lady Malenore Briar Country's "most evil" princess.
I went over the prologue again semi-recently to see if the knowledge we have gathered since the start of the game recontextulizes some things. And while the purpose of the analysis then was different, what I did take special note of was that Crowley is speaking to a different but very specific person. To quote the man himself (from the English version):
"Ah, my dear esteemed benefactor...
My proud, beautiful flower of evil.
You are truly the fairiest one of all."
The way Crowley addresses this person is very interesting because it at once seems very subservient and almost intimate.
But what is even more interesting is the original Japanese phrasing. I will go through the lines one by one to point out the notable details:
ああ‥‥‥愛しい我が君
"愛しい" (itoshii) is generally used to describe something that is lovely, dear. "我が君" (waga kimi) is generally understood to mean "my lord/ruler/master". The translation as "my dear esteemed benefactor" is... alright, though it does seem to detract a bit from the portrayal of this person as someone that has a lot of power over Crowley.
What I'd like to note though is that since Japanese is a very context dependent language this line might also be read a very different way: if "kimi" was used in the context that Crowley knows this person very well, being allowed to address them directly like this... then the line could also be read as Crowley calling this person "My beloved." There is still the underlying power dynamic underneath but it is more finely tuned and something that reminds me more of a pair of royals.
This would certainly not be the first way for someone to understand this line but subtext and double meanings can reveal a lot.
気高く麗しい悪の華
Notable here is mainly that Crowley is using a lot of archaic words to describe the person he is speaking to (e.g. using the kanji "華" instead of the modern "花" - both pronounced "hana," meaning flower). This may indicate that this person is of a people whose culture does not move as fast as the rest of the world's - still bound to old ways of speaking and thinking.
貴女こそが世界で一番美しい
Now, this last line is spicy. The English version of this line is pretty gender neutral after all - the fairest of them all. But what the original line makes very explicit is that Crowley is talking to/about a woman.
"貴女" (anata) - not "貴方" (anata), not "我が君" (waga kimi) but "貴女"
Crowley is addressing a noble woman directly in a manner that implies they are of equal standing. Like a husband addressing his wife.
Now let's circle back to that conversation Lilia, Silver, Sebek and co. are having about Malenore for a minute.
Because what Lilia also calls Malenore is this:
Tumblr media
Malenore is the only daughter to Queen Maleficia and she the ruling Lady of "Wild Rose Castle" (野ばら城). Which is known to Silver only as "Black Scale Castle" (黒鱗城).
Tumblr media
In other words, Malenore is one of the most powerful noble women in the Twisted Wonderland, she is strongly associated with with Wild Roses/ Briar Roses, and on top of that described as the "most evil" princess by her own general (whether in jest or not is of little consequence).
And this description should ring very familiar after going over Crowley's introductory monolog. A noble, beautiful "Flower of Evil" as it were.
But if that is the truth, then the familiar way Crowley addresses Malenore can only mean that Crowley's true identity is Malenore's husband. Who else would be allowed to speak to her im such an intimate and familiar manner.
Malenore's husband whose status hasn't actually been confirmed, other than he is missing in some capacity. And while I have seen a many transcriptions of his name, no one seems to have gotten it right yet:
Tumblr media
"竜眠公レヴァーン"
The Sleeping Dragon Lord Raven
And what is the associated animal of our dear Night Raven's headmaster?
A crow.
A corvid.
A raven.
Crowley did always had something of the mad hatter to him, didn't he? And he might just have something with a raven and a writing desk..
After all, a raven is nevar the same front to back as back to front.
And thus, at the end, we have the lost parents of a little dragon, summoning a human with no magical ability to this Twisted Wonderland - a human that cannot be influenced by blot.
Curious, curious...
Curious indeed...

*Spoilers for chapter 7*
So we learn in chapter 7 that dragon eggs can only hatch with the love and magic of their parents
Tumblr media
Credit to Otome Ayui on YouTube
And I've been thinking about it for a while but are arranged marriages just not a thing in Briar Valley (at least in the royal family)? Or is it just pairing the two at a young age and hoping it works out? It's particularly interesting when you take into consideration how classist the Senate is in the story
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
again credit to Otome Ayui
And while the Draconians have no obligation to actually listen to them their words seem to be taken into consideration quite a lot, especially by Queen Maleficia.
Anyway, those are just my thoughts that I wanted to share on the topic feel free to share yours as well.
P.S Sorry for any bad English it's not my native language

Malleus's mother and grandmother
I made his mother look more youthful
As for the grand mother i also didn't want to make her look too old since fae don't age regularly like humans
I'm currently drawing a mini-comic with them as main characters

Where’s Maleficia Draconia?
I think one of the mysteries that is in all our minds is “Where’s Malleus’ grandmother?”
We know she cares about Malleus. She did, despite being busy, try to provide magic for Malleus’ egg. We know from Malleus, that besides Lilia, she give him affection through head pats.
She also sends him birthday cards and rose seeds despite always being busy. She allowed Lilia to see Malleus as an egg again.
And we know, from prior updates and from the recent update, they have “Briar Valley’s Cooperation” but yet we haven’t seen her at all or heard from her directly.
Even Ortho brings up the point saying (jokingly), “Malleus, your grandmother is really sad and she’s crying.”
Another emphasis on the missing Queen.
So I can’t help but wonder…
Does she even know?
Or is this the senate acting up again? Just because they have the cooperation of Briar Valley, it doesn’t mean we know exactly who is the one providing info and who is informed or not.
We don’t know if she’s in the dark while someone acts on her behalf.
Someone like the senate. The senate, who once Malleus was strong enough, couldn’t control Malleus anymore (to a certain degree like Meleanor) but somehow has some power or control with Maleficia.
Maybe they never told her? She might be in the dark as to what is happening at NRC.
Or she might know, and just like before, she has limited power to leave and help.
But how can she not know? I would assume Lilia would keep her updated on Malleus but then again Lilia was planning to leave all of them.
How can she be held back? When Lilia himself said that Malleus’ temperament is nothing compared to that of Meleanor and Maleficia?
So it makes me wonder? What is going on in Briar Valley?
[Why does the title make it seem like I’m trying to solve her mysterious disappearance/murder 🤣🤣 I mean, technically I am 😂]

(uh please click so that the quality wont be as blurry lol-- my phone can only take so much pixels 🥲)
Since Queen Maleficias interference with Malleus' overblot is very likely now,,,
I'm starting to see that this scene from the trailer wasn't Malleus feeling trapped bcs of his royalty— (my guy even emphasizes it jajdjs "governing is a responsibility of a king, yes?" -malleus overblot 2023💥) rather its Maleficias magic trapping him--
if thats just the gist of her prowess, then i can barely supress my excitement for meemaw draconia reveal😳🙌✨‼️
