#ughhh I’ve been having so much trouble keeping my thoughts in order lately

Ok so people seemed to like my ocd dirk post (found here) and it’s a perfectly respectable 6:30 in the evening so I don’t have an excuse but I DO have a few more ideas (I’ve been having a go of it lately) so I’m gonna put some here. As a warning, this strays more into headcanon territory than the other one, and probably won’t make sense without the context of that first post. Also, to reiterate: cw for in depth descriptions of compulsive behaviors regarding scrupulosity (moral), violent intrusive thoughts (alluded to, non-graphic), and contamination, as well as mentions of self harm and pica. Moreso than the other post I am going to stress that if you are prone to picking up obsessions or compulsions through reading about them, then I would skip out on this one.
-obligatory disclaimer: I am only an expert on my own experiences. While these headcanons draw from those, there are some key differences (which I will not be disclosing for reasons of personal privacy), and it is important to note that ocd can look very different depending on the person. That said, let’s jump in!
- so for context, a common-ish way for morality compulsions to manifest is in researching what makes a good person vs a bad one. While I don’t think that Dirk’s interest in philosophy started as a compulsion, I definitely think that it- much like everything else- gets roped into it in that he turns to texts that explicitly deal with morality and its limits in a more exclusive and (of course) obsessive way than he might have otherwise. He also strikes me as someone who has a good enough memory to turn these texts over and over in his head even when he can’t outright access them
-this gets upsetting in that it’s a bastardization of something you enjoy by something else that’s dominating your life in an extreme and overtly negative fashion. Lots of very complex, complicated feelings in that visiting these texts/ideas would still serve as a form of relief for him, but it would be in a way that honestly feels a little like mockery. As in, the co-opting of a hobby by a compulsion would inevitably lead to lots of shame in the attempt to engage with that hobby even if you're actually trying to do it for fun, or have done it for fun in the past.
-a difficulty I’ve found in this same vein is that sometimes material that doesn’t trigger you at the time comes back to bite you months later, especially if you’ve got a decent memory for it. In terms of reading as i've mentioned it here, that might be like guilt for having read it in the first place or immediately conflating actions in the text with things that you have done (or in some cases haven’t), just general confusing boundary blur stuff. I can see that being an issue with him too.
-splinters time!! Hal often makes mention often of his existence specifically as a machine in the same way that dirk makes direct reference to himself as ‘a stone cold motherfucker’ (quoting from memory please excuse if I’m a little off). A good chunk of dirks splinters are robots of some sort, and some- like brobot- serve as something that is intended, at least in part, to enact controlled- this is key- violence. Now, keeping in mind that I’m approaching dirk with the hc that he has moral obsessions w/violent intrusive thoughts, and that people who fall under this category are-to sum it up- afraid of losing control, we get:
- my personal favorite set of headcanons, in which dirk develops a fear of strong emotion as it leads to impulse and impulsive people do stupid things. He then immediately connects this fear to physicality because there are some parts of your body that you inevitably cannot control- if you are hungry you might get angry, there are physical effects of stress, the physical effects of guilt, there’s a lot- and so turns to creating these robot versions of himself in an attempt to mitigate and control not only his emotion but also their attached physical responses. In doing so, he attempts to create a version of himself wherein that capacity for both violence and emotion is completely under his control. It’s also important to note that this does not work. Think brobot ripping out his heart- that’s not exactly logical, emotionless behavior, now is it?
- I love this one. It forces him to confront his own humanity, and thus imperfection; as well as the fact that there are some things- on a fundamental level- that you just can’t change. I mean this in the nature/nurture sense, but also in that like. He’s gonna have to breathe. His neurons fire, his neurons misfire, things go right and things go wrong. There’s a lot going on in homestuck in terms of permanence and physicality; sometimes, you just have to accept things as they are, and then of course accept that those same things might someday change. Again, it’s a control thing
-also, i imagine this line of thinking takes place like a solid couple of years after he started exhibiting full-blown symptomatic behavior which is why it’s a completely disordered and What the Fuck way of thinking. I’d like to reiterate: this is a very intense set of feelings that you are sitting with constantly, in one way or another, and in this case dirk is smack in the middle of his developmental years. Trying to navigate identity development is difficult enough; trying to do navigate identity development when you’re doubting everything down to the way your neurons fire off is near impossible. Shit gets weird.
-ok this one’s just straight projection and also not ocd (there is an overlap! Sometimes. Not always.) but. Pica. Also, I have a personal curiosity in regards to how this would be dealt with, as it’s potentially very dangerous for a good number of reasons and again: there’s not much to fall back on here in terms of like medical assistance. There’s the matter of his being god tier of course, but that doesn’t prevent physical damage, and there are plenty possible complications. This is a lot of questions and very few solutions. Sorry about that
-another fun one: it’s common enough for people with ocd to equate thought directly with action. Dirk’s enough of an overachiever that I like to think he starts equating OTHER people’s actions directly with his own. Starts off small enough, like someone he’s close to does something not great (not terrible; just normal human mistakes) and he’s like fuck ok gotta go back through my memories and see if I contributed to that and then this escalated of course and like a year later he’s feeling guilty for things a hypothetical character in a thought experiment he read about two years ago did.
-of course this denies the actual people he’s thinking about their autonomy, or at least in direct relation in regards to how he thinks about them. Right back to the self-fulfilling prophecy
-I made direct mention of this in a semi coherent meta post (found here but like at your own risk) but in canon dirk seems to trust his actions more than anyone else’s, but doubts his motives, which basically just sums up everything. Hm.
-this is some more overt projection, but I was heavily influenced by my having consistent, unrestricted internet access from a very young age, which is to say that while my obsessions did not originate with my gaining access to the internet, it was instrumental in shaping them into what I’ve ended up at now. Dirk’s in a similar situation in terms of the internet, moreso in that he can’t just up and walk away- it’s literally his only connection with humanity. A warped one, granted, because the internet highlights and encourages extremes, which isn't great in this particular context. There’s a lot there, but it’s a… very complex topic that I’ll probably make a third part for if the urge strikes
-to wrap it up: while I sincerely doubt it was intended, there’s a lot to be said about the concept of splintering as exhibited by dirk as an allegory for ocd, as for many people it facilitates an intense separation from the self. There’s you, your thoughts, you-and-your-thoughts (this is different), your actions, your memories, so on, so on. This isn't the only interpretation, of course- I’ve seen lots of other good ones, DID, NPD, BPD, but I am much less qualified to comment on those so I’m just standing off to the side and waving in enthusiastic encouragement- but if nothing else its one that ive found a lot of comfort in and on that I hope other people might to, so. That’s all I’ve got.
-well, as good a place as any. Thanks for reading ocd dirk hour 2: this time it’s personal. Last time it was also personal. If you read the meta I linked to, you will find that that is personal as well. There is a theme here. With any luck, the inevitable ocd dirk hour 3 will feature a celebrity cameo. This will not be personal, but that’s just business.

Six [Ate] Ain’t Seven Ch. 2: Repairing the Seam
Summary: The Host and Patton go into the tear to save their future, and fight their past along the way.
Chapters: 1, 2
The two heroes were standing back outside the warehouses, but this time right in the parking lot to the east side of the warehouses. Logan and Virgil nowhere nearby. Patton was still in the suit, but the Host had changed.
He was in a pinstripe black shirt, a notebook in hand, but the thing that caught Patton were his eyes.
Namely that they weren’t just black sockets covered by bandages. They were there, his pupils the same color of brilliant gold that was normally streaked into the front of his hair.
“Ughhh!” The seer shielded his recently restored eyes from the sun. It had been a long time since light had hit his nerves like that. His visions and narrations had been his eyes but now having his old ones back were agony.
“Host!” Patton gasped, rushing to the Host’s side. “What can I do? Should I call Iplier?”
“He would not recognize the Host, and if the Host and Patton leave the warehouse parking lot without this reality’s anomaly they will have to re-enter and try again.”
“Yeah, but,” Patton began before the Host’s aura wrapped around his eyes to lessen the pain and disorientation. After a couple minutes he shakily got up, helped by Patton.
“I could go in alone,” Patton offered.
“Morality would not be able to find his way to the anomaly to retrieve it,” the Host denied. “Being alone would only increase the likelihood of failure.”
With that the Host began to lead Patton towards Dark’s main warehouse, with each step he gained strength, but also felt the Author trying to smother him out. People parted for them at even the sight of the Author. Dark was out dealing with a problem, the Host had made sure of it before even setting foot into this reality. So entering the office was easy.
The Host walked over to the huge family portrait and used his aura to tip it out of the way far enough to crack the safe open and extract a single black day planner. He then closed the safe and restored the portrait to its natural position.
“Is that what you were looking for?” Patton asked in confusion.
“Yes,” the Host answered. “Morality should not be fooled by the anomaly’s current appearance. This is a magical artifact that has the ability to destroy realities if used improperly.”
“Okay, so, we have it, then we can leave?” Patton looked around uneasily.
“Yes, and the Host and Morality should be quick,” the Host checked over the office to make sure everything was in order before starting to lead the Side out. But as they started leaving the warehouse the pull to return was only getting stronger.
Patton was mentally fading in and out of himself, like he was drowning at sea and barely able to keep his head about the frothy depths of his own mind. It felt like some part of him, some gaping, empty hole in his soul wanted to pull him back in. It was some cautious, hungry creature and Patton didn’t like him.
All it would take was the lightest shove to his attention, and he would be gone. He could see the parking lot in the distance. They were almost safe.
The Host was doing so well, the Author was trying to steal back control. But he was distracted when Illinois came stomping out of a portal with King following him. An errant squirrel scurrying off of him, and out into a random warehouse. King’s usual cape was gone, as was his child that typically clung to King. He was in his suit instead.
Illinois looked pissed, as if he’d kill the next person who spoke to him. As Illinois and the Host passed, the seer’s newly restored eyes tracked of their own volition and as he glanced at Illinois a sadistic sense of victory came over him. King was glancing between them in uncertainty.
“How’s it going lover boy,” the Author baited, the distraction giving him the push he needed. His feet stopped.
“Not now, shitbag,” Illinois grumbled, glaring at him as he kept walking.
“Not my fault you dug your grave with Mr. Right,” Author dared. “I mean, he gave you everything and you burned his base down. I’m a certified sadist, but at least I clean up after myself and don’t fucking get involved with my food.”
“Shut up,” Illinois seethed.
“I mean, did you see his face?” Author continued to goad, “I mean the one fucker you don’t kill and instead you fuck up so badly that he dumps your ass.”
“Shut up!” Illinois shouted, King and Patton looking between each other in unease. The two young men were attracting a crowd.
“I mean, you should have just fucked him and run, would have saved you both the trouble,” Arthur dared and Illinois screamed in a heartbroken fury before throwing himself at his brother and the two starting a fistfight.
Patton and King both called for Dark with their stars, not wanting the two to kill each other.
Dark immediately ripped open and portal and froze when he saw the fight. He saw the screaming and knew he’d been wrong to leave Illinois alone with his brothers while he was still so emotionally raw.
“Philly!” Dark shouted and yanked his adopted son through a portal. “A word!”
“He started it!” Illinois shouted in a rage before the portal closed.
Author had the good sense to wait until he was sure Dark was gone, reprimanding Illinois, to start cackling like a madman. The weight in his pocket was almost nonexistent.
“Did you see his fucking face?” Author laughed. “I think he was crying.”
“You’re a fucking dick, Art,” King glared at him. “You know that right?”
“Come on,” Author stood up and brushed himself off. “He deserved it. Besides it’s not like one slip up is going to kick Daddy’s favorite off his pedestal. I need to try much harder for that.”
“If you weren’t such a complete asshole, I might agree with you,” King glared at him. “Come on, that hero he was dating was the best partner yet.”
“And Phills chose his side,” Arthur reminded. “We all did. I don’t get why he’s so upset that his boyfriend didn’t like his choice.”
“Just once I’d like you to get a taste of your own medicine,” King sighed, before he turned to see a couple squirrels rush over and he let them climb up his leg and onto his shoulder while they chittered at him. “Gotta[1] go, one of the heroes is causing trouble over by warehouse six.”
“I’ll come with, it’s been a while since I had some fun,” Arthur grinned.
“Hey, maybe we should,” Patton began to suggest as the two other Lost Ones looked towards him, “go back inside, Author. I think you’ve had enough fun for now. We can fight them next time.”
Author was about to protest before Patton sent a calming wave towards him, and immediately there was this glazed look to Author’s eyes. He huffed out, already stomping away, “Yeah, whatever fun police. I hate that the Old Man stuck me with you.”
Patton rushed to catch up with his adopted brother, “I just don’t want you to get in trouble, or get hurt.”
“Too late for that Pat-attack,” Arthur reminded.
Patton smiled warmly, a smile that despite Author’s best efforts he couldn’t hate. The guy was sunshine personified. “Come on, I’m gonna[2] lose my touch if you keep smiling like that. I’m gonna[2] have to punch you in the gut or something.”
Still smiling, the two were about to head into Dark’s main warehouse, when someone walked over to them.
“Umm, Author?”
Author and Patton turned to see a young man standing not too far from them. He had an oversized purple hoodie with a green swirl on the front and back. He had a thick book held to his chest.
“You talking to me?” Author asked, pointing to himself.
“Yeah,” the young man nodded with a smile before pulling out a folded up note from his hoodie pocket. “Philly wanted me to pass this on. You know, to keep it off the record.”
“Oh,” Author smiled, suddenly overly smug and sure of himself. He plucked the note out of the young man’s hand and opened it.
Written in Illinois’s handwriting was:
“I want you outside 5th and Center St. We can settle this where Dark won’t see. I’m sick of your shit. Be there, or I WILL find you.”
Author chuckled, writing his bat back into his hands, “Well, well, if Daddy’s favorite wants his teeth kicked in, I’m more than happy to oblige. Hey buddy, you wanna watch a narcissistic asshole get his hopes and dreams crushed?”
The young man’s left eyebrow hitched up as he gave the Author a knowing look, “That’s certainly one way of putting it. Sure, I like watching a train wreck in motion.”
“Alright,” Author smiled. “I like you, I promise not to kill you immediately.”
“Thanks, I guess,” his tone clearly insulted. “You gonna[2] go, or should I go and jump off the roof of the closest warehouse? I got stuff to do.”
“Hmmm,” Author hummed. “You got a name?”
“Karl Jacobs,” Karl smiled again as he watched Author write down his name. “With a “K” and it’s not short for “Carlton” either.”
“Boy, aren’t you just dumb as shit?” Author chuckled to himself as he crossed out the first spelling and wrote the correct one.
At that Karl just glared at him, but didn’t say anything.
“Not my fault this is your first day on the job,” Author smiled.
“Hey, uh, maybe we shouldn’t,” Patton began but stopped when he saw the look in Author’s eyes.
“Not my fault Ills wants his teeth bashed in,” Author waggled his finger before he turned and started heading towards the parking lot again, moving quickly to get to where he thought Illinois was. “Come on, I’ve been dying for a rematch.”
“Yeah, but,” Patton tried to interject.
“So give me some motivation,” Author told Karl as they kept walking, ignoring Patton completely. “What makes you tick?”
“Well, one of your dads killed my dad,” Karl admitted.
“Well, Wil kills a lot of people so you’re going to have to be specific,” Arthur shrugged, slugging his bat over his head, causing Patton to quickly duck as he was racing to keep up.
“No, I meant Dark,” Karl corrected. “My dad was doing some dumb things, hoping to blackmail him. But he died and now I have to deal with the bridge.”
“Ohhh, that was your dad,” Author realized. “Man, he was an idiot.”
“So do have, like, a grudge against us then?” Patton asked as they were weaving around cars.
“Kinda,”[3] Karl admitted, “but only to Dark, and don’t worry it’s not enough to screw you guys over. You guys weren’t even adopted yet and Dark was just looking out for his kid.”
The suspicious part of Arthur’s brain lit up like a series of waved semaphores, how did this asshole know I’m adopted and not their actual kid‽
“How—” Arthur asked as his feet finally crossed the invisible barrier of the parking lot, and the Host woke back up. He had just enough time to pull Patton along with him as their exit ejected them out of the little pocket reality.
The three of them stepped into the white of the In-between. Patton suffered the most disorientation.
“You back to normal?” Karl asked.
“Yes,” the Host started coming back to himself more and more, fighting the vestiges of the Author still left inside of him. His eyes were gone again and covered with bandages, but blood was coming from the sockets. “The Host is in control.”
“Good,” Karl told him, before slapping him in the arm with his huge book. “That’s for being a jerk.”
“The Host deserves that,” the Host flinched away from the blow.
“Yeah, yah[4] did,” Karl agreed.
“Is everyone still okay?” Patton asked fearfully.
“Yes,” the Host answered, talking out the day planner. “There is still time for the Host to fix their mistakes. Thanks to Karl, the Host and Morality can still remember everything.”
The Host turned his attention towards where his aura was telling him Karl was, “The Host cannot thank Karl enough for intervening.”
Karl shrugged, “You’re the one who gave me the note, I’m just here to help.”
“So we’re going back home, right?” Patton asked. “I want to go home.”
“The Host has what they need,” Host promised. He turned to Karl. “Does Karl need assistance in returning back to the city?”
“I’m stuck here until I die again,” Karl sighed, looking at the castle in the distance, his breath stuttering a bit. He was not looking forward to the pain, nor the disorientation, that always followed moments like this. Usually dehydration or starvation got him.
“The Host can help with that,” the Host’s aura gripped the back of Karl’s head. “After all, Karl did save the Host, it’s only fair for the Host to return the favor.”
Karl felt the sensation of failing before his mind fell out of this reality, right into the white void of the In-between, and then he was yanked back upwards and into a hospital room where he was weak but alive. Hospital machines beeping and giving him life, and the dull chatter of a nurse talking with another doctor.
He stirred and the hospital room flew into action, the nurse immediately paging Quackity who would rush from a meeting to sit by his fiancé’s side as he started his recovery treatment.
Back in the In-Between, the Host used the anomalies to keep the hole he’d ripped open for Karl pried open so that they could easily step through.
“Morality should go first,” the Host ordered the Side. “The Host is hesitant to take the anomaly through before Morality. In case it strands him alone in the In-between.”
“Oh, thanks,” Patton said and stepped through, his suit changing back to his superhero outfit and his freckles fading behind his mask. He felt a hum of his magic surge back, and a connection with Thomas was restored as if he was waking back up from a terrible dream. Patton hadn’t even realized he’d been disconnected from it in the first place.
The Host stepped through after, two black day planners in his hand. The tear was still there but fragmenting by the second. Curling his aura around the day planners they began to turn into dust and swirl together until a single planner was held in the Host’s aura.
With that the tear that had been long since been a nuisance and a threat to the Host was fully disconnected. It became one of the hundreds of thousands of alternate worlds loosely ringed around theirs. No more a danger to him than the dark mirror world that the Host and his allies had found themselves in not so long ago.
“Morality!” Logan yelled as he and Virgil were running over.
With a couple narrations, the Host sent the Sides back to their home to rest, Virgil would be salty and upset at the Host. But the Sides would be together, and that was what was important.
The Host ripped a portal into Dark’s office and saw Illinois sitting and talking with Dark. The Entity was discussing some Network business and some details about Illinois’s upcoming wedding.
The seer stalled a bit, not expecting to see Illinois at this moment. He felt apprehension, his actions under the Author’s insidious influence came back to his mind.
“You okay?” Illinois asked, noticing the hesitant way the Host was holding himself.
“No,” the Host answered. “The Host does not deserve the adventurer’s kindness, nor his consideration. The Host is a terrible brother, he always continues to be so.”
“Hey, hey,” Illinois kicked his feet up and walked over to the Host. He signaled over to Dark, who summoned a portal and seamlessly sent them to the Manor. It was not ideal for the Host but the action had already been done. “What’s this about?”
The Host began explaining to Illinois, to the best of his physical abilities, what he had done. The situation of their missing brother. That Patton had been the price to keeping them safe, but also he told Illinois of his barbed words to Illinois. How at his core he was not any different than the Author.
“Host, Host,” Illinois cut in, curling his aura around the Host, instead of suddenly grabbing onto him, so he didn’t startle him. “Yeah it does concern me that you can just make one of us permanently disappear. I don’t know who this “Patton” was but I’m certain that if he helped you then he was one of the best brothers we ever had. But you’re not a terrible person, you’re doing your best. You were just trying to look out for us.”
“That does not excuse what the Author has done,” the Host cut him off. “Or what the Host has done.”
“No, it doesn’t,” Illinois agreed seriously. “Artie was a lot of things: a pain in my ass, desperate to reenact “Lord of the Flies” and kill me. But he was my brother, and besides Kay, he knew what it was kinda[3] like to be unwanted for a long time. I think both of us forgot that. But now you’re here, and you’re my brother too.”
A smile came back to Illinois’s face, “Besides, you being so worried about me proves that you don’t mean to hurt me. That we’re brothers.”
“The Host supposed that Illinois may have a point,” the seer reluctantly agreed.
“Of course I do,” the adventurer gave him a smug smile. “Trust me more, we’re both in this together. Although, I should admit, I do appreciate not being attacked or threatened with a bat on a regular basis. That, plus you helping me protect 아빠[5] makes you a much better brother than he ever was. If that makes you feel better?”
“The Host is somewhat eased by the adventurer’s words, yes,” the Host agreed.
“Alright, you want to spend the rest of the day with me, or should I take you to the heroes, your eyes are bleeding pretty badly.” Illinois was looking in concern at the seer’s face.
“The Host originally had important matters with the Entity, ones that he cannot put off,” the Host corrected. “The Host was not expecting to see Illinois in his office.”
Illinois lightly whistles, a huge smile splitting his face. “I threw you off your game? Never thought I’d see the day.”
“The Host was pressed for time, he couldn’t check before he opened the portal,” the Host snapped back.
“Sure, I got yah[4],” Illinois chuckled, taking off his hat and tapping on the bronze star hidden inside. “you’re still seeing your boyfriend after this though, your eyes need cleaning before they get infected.”
Dark came to them in an instant, a flurry of overprotective worry.
“Is everything alright?” Dark asked as he portaled in, he was looking Host over for any wounds or signs of a fight. The Host let him fret as he looked at him.
“Yes, the Host was merely discussing something with Illinois,” the Host reached into one of his pockets with his aura and pulled out a plain black day planner. “The Host merely wished to return this to the Entity.”
“Oh,” Dark patted himself down to find his planner was missing and quickly took it back. “Thank you, I didn’t realize it was gone.”
“Yes, the Host had to borrow it for a little while,” the Host told him. “He thanks the Entity for his assistance.”
Dark paused to think about that, confused and suspicious, but he chose not to comment on his thoughts. He turned and headed back to his office.
Host watched him go, aware of the presence watching them. Watching Dark’s every move. Carefully the Host spoke wards into being and they quietly curled around the Entity, protecting him from harm. The Host would have eliminated the threat completely, but such was not in his power. He wasn’t strong enough to disrupt the anomaly entirely, but he would protect what was his. He would protect his family from the Actor, or any other threat.
No matter the cost.

Post A/N: Information on Lost One Patton: his superpower was empathy manipulation. He was the emotional heart of his family and helped keep Author from getting too violent with his siblings. As such Patton and Author were close. His codename in the Network was: Pathos.  Also since he has a January birthday, and Author had a February one, that makes him the eldest Lost One, by barely a month.

Reactions to Yu-Gi-Oh: Dark Side of Dimensions
Okay so, this started as one reaction to something, but then I had more reactions and just kept adding on aaaand... Yeah. XD
Now obviously there will be some spoilers, but most should be fairly out of context.
I have no idea if this will even be of any interest to anyone, probably not, but I had fun doing it so eh. *shrug*
I'll keep the first few visible but will hide the rest under a read more cause this got kinda long. Whoops. >.>
Also, I intend to write a proper review of this movies because I have many thoughts on things, but that will be tomorrow. Is quite late, much later than I had intended on staying up, and I need sleep.
(Also I will apologize now to anyone who likes Kaiba that happens to read this. I distinctly am NOT a fan of Kaiba and it very much shows throughout this.)
---
"It's true, I went through a great deal of trouble recreating the Pharoah's deck, strategies, even his perfectly quaffed hair. In fact that part is what took the longest."
Oh my god what even is this movie??? XDXD
(Quick note, this was the original reaction I was going to post on it’s own, but shortly after I had another and that’s how this whole thing came about. After this they’re in order as the occurred in the movie, it’s just this one that’s out of place since it started the whole thing.)
---
*movie opens with us flying through space, comes to a space station with the letters KC on the side*
Me: Oh dear god, his ego had reached space!
---
Uh... Excuse me what? Why do you have that???
---
*people digging stuff up, dude has a picure of the Millennium Puzzle on his phone*
Me: Uh... Okay... So are these Kaiba’s guys or...
---
*Yugi and his grandpa talking about Tea*
Me: Oh? Will there finally be some eluding to Yugi and Tea?
*little further along*
Me: Guess not.
---
Sploosh!
---
*Bakura surrounded by girls, completely flustered*
Me: XDXDXD
(I’m glad they included this because it’s never played up in the show despite being canon)
---
*gang goes around, talking about what they’re going to do after graduating*
Me: But what about Bakura? (No I’m not a Bakura fangirl, no not at all >.>)
---
*Aigami is introduced, gang standing around trying to remember his name*
Me: He hasn’t been in their class the whole time has he.
---
Geh, what is up with these character designs? What’s with that dude’s head??
---
What is this these characters and jumping off things?
---
*Joey tumbles into his landing*
Me: *snort* Nailed it.
Joey: Dat was on purpose!
Me: Close enough. XD
---
Aigami: You’re Joey right? And Tea? And you... You’re Yugi Moto, am I right?
Yugi: Yeah but, don’t we already know each other?
Me: Yeaaah... He definitely hasn’t been around this whole time.
---
That whole thing was a set up wasn’t it?
---
Joey: How do we know him and not know him at the same time?
Yugi: I wish I had an answer.
*conspiracy theory continues to grow*
Dirty water dogs...
---
Seriously this dude’s head!
---
Well. They certainly didn’t waste any time revealing you as the villain did they?
---
*shadow people start showing up*
Is... Is that Bakura??? The hell???
---
Aand the whole thing was recorded.
*Aigami picks up the camera after having been seen walking away through it*
Wait. How did-But you just- HUH???
---
Pharaoh? Uhhhh... what?
---
*Kaiba immediately summons three blue-eyes*
Me: Doesn’t anybody know the rules of this game? (Throwback to Yu-Gi-Oh abridged. XD)
---
*Kaiba internal monologuing about how he’s better, how he’s done so much to get to this moment, how he’ll finally show he’s the best*
Me: *groans and rolls eyes so hard it’s a wonder they didn’t pop out of my skull*
---
Kaiba: You set me up. *attack happens, things explode, Kaiba still stands* But I knew you’d set me up.
Me: Aand of course. Wouldn’t be Yu-Gi-Oh if there weren’t constant, “But wait!” moments.
---
*Kaiba unleashes attack, Pharaoh doesn’t try to counter, things explode*
Me: ... This wasn’t real was it?
*world begins to fade away*
Me: Yup. Only way he’d actually beat the Pharaoh.
---
Crystal cloud network... How far does that go exactly? Dear god that’s a terrifying thought...
---
Okay so wait he... doesn’t... have it yet? Then what was up with the beginning of the movie?
---
Duke! Wasn’t expecting to see you.
---
Kaiba: It is I! Seto Kaiba and once again I am about to change your lives.
Me: Oh lord here we go...
---
Huh... Well that’s certainly interesting how they played this.
(This was in reaction to Diva and his friend overlooking Yugi and his friends at the mall. I went into this movie having seen a rather key scene involving Diva and Bakura so was impressed at how they mislead us early on)
---
Kaiba can't you just wait for the plane to land like a normal person? You really had to jump out of it? Seriously, the characters in this series and jumping from things.
---
The guns aren't invisible!
---
Kaiba... Only you would be extra enough to have an automatic trap door build into your coat.
---
"There are no limits when you're as brilliant as Seto Kaiba!"
Me: Ugh...
---
How may different types of Blue-eyes White Dragons does this guy have???
---
*Kaiba internal monologuing about how it can't end here, I've come too far done too much*
Me: I swear to god if he says something about the heart of the cards I'm done.
---
Uh... Whut.
Whut
Kaiba you're breaking the world.
---
What is that? Wait... Is that...
Aigami: It's Obelisk the Tourmentor!
Me: WHUT. He still has that???
---
*glowing coming from the hole the items fell into, dude teleport down, Millennium Ring is poking out of the rubble*
Oh dear.
---
Huh. So they're actually graduating.
---
Kaiba why... WHY do you need a space station?
---
*computer goes through a bunch of techno babble*
Kaiba: Don't you think I know that? I invented the blasted thing.
Computer: Affirmative. But my AI has recognized your affinity for being reminded of your genius.
Me: UGHHH!!! MY GOD YOUR EGO.
---
Huh. Well THAT just threw a bunch of my Bakura head canons out the window.
---
Oh dear. Well that's not good.
---
Tristan: Come on! Something's happened to Joey!
Me: How do you know that?!
---
*Aigami’s friend shows up acting all creepy*
Oooh snap.
---
Okay so is the ring manipulating this dude's emotions or is this the spirit talking and he's pissed at Bakura.
---
Aigami: The ring didn't do it it was you!
Aigami: *2 minutes later* Manny the ring is doing something to you!
Me: Dude! Make up your mind!
---
*Yugi and co. running around, calling for Joey*
Me: No concern for Bakura though. As usual. *sigh*
---
Friendship is magic!
---
Kaiba. Go. AWAY.
Seriously, I feel like I'm watching two different movies here.
---
HOW DO YOU KNOW HE HAS THE PIECES?!?!?!
---
Mokuba: Hey Yugi what's up? Lookin good!
Me: How are these two related...
---
Mokuba: *cocky* We know were the second piece is and it's practically ours.
Me: ... Okay now I see the family resemblance.
---
I swear to god just when I start to think Kaiba can't get any more extra...
---
*Kaiba goes through long-winded, ego boosting speech that I've already forgotten most of*
Me: Ughhhhhh......
---
Kaiba: Behold! The Millennium Puzzle!
Me: Dude, you are LITERALLY one of 7 people in that entire stadium who even knows what that thing is.
---
Yeah Yugi! Put that egotistical prick in his place!
---
These poor people have NO IDEA what's going on.
---
Yugi: Dimension dueling? Guess I'll have to learn as I go.
Me: Ladies and gentlemen, Yu-Gi-Oh in a sentence.
---
Must we do the DBZ power up scream?
---
Oh boy, these things again.
---
Ah... But... He... Hm... *me trying to work out a plot point*
---
Kaiba: (card name)'s ability allows me to to summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon!
Me: Of course it does.
---
Seriously, HOW MANY DIFFERENT BLUE EYES DOES THIS GUY HAVE???
---
APPLE Magician Girl??? Dafuq?
---
And now Lemon Magician Girl. He's got a magical fruit salad in the works here.
---
*Diva comes across Millennium Ring*
Me: Oh shit.
---
*Kaiba plays Monster Reborn*
Me: Oh hey, a card I know!
---
Geehh.
---
EIGHTH Millennium Item??? Sure why not.
---
Yugi and Kaiba having a back to back bad ass moment to team up against the bad guy... Not sure how I feel about this.
---
*Kaiba shows concern for Yugi, Kaiba sacrifices himself for Yugi*
The ease in which he changes his focus depending on the situation is... Something else. Because I know when this is all over he'll be right back to, "Yugi I will defeat you!" mode.
---
When did you pick that up?!
---
Heart of the cards. Knew that had to come up at some point.
---
Return of the Pharoah! (?)
---
He's... Not gonna say a word is he?
*Pharoah poofs*
Nope.
---
HIS SPACE STATION IS SHAPED LIKE A K AND A C. HOW DID I MISS THAT. Dear lord this guy...
---
*Kaiba is shown to have Diva's cube thing*
Me: Uh oh...
---
... Whut...
SERIOUSLY DUDE??? DEAR GOD GET A LIFE!
---
*credits roll, remixed version of original theme plays*
Me: *cackles*
---
*credits scroll through songs, three of which were on the shows soundtrack*
How did I miss those??? (Though to be fair its been a LOOOONG time since I last listened to that soundtrack)
---
THERE WAS NO POT OF GREED.
On one level, I’m relieved. Back when I watched the show I came to despise that card because despite it being played ALL THE DAMN TIME they STILL felt the need to explain that it, “Allows me to draw two cards” EVERY.FRIGGIN.TIME.
But on the other hand, because of that it became such a part of the series that it almost seems wrong for it to have not been included.

Title: Hospital Stay Rating: G Series: Inazuma Eleven GO Characters: Shindou Takuto, Kirino Ranmaru, Taiyou Amemiya, Yuuichi Tsurugi Summary/Note: Shindou has to spend three months at the hospital while recovering from his injury. Post GO, Pre CS. I've been playing GO Shadow and I just went up against Taiyou's team. I'm so sad I can't have Shindou on the team since he's stuck in the hospital :'c and that sort of motivated me to just sort of write this thing. It was initially supposed to be more shippy and if you squint I guess it can be.
Being confined to a hospital for three months were more agonizing than Shindou had thought. The first month wasn't terribly bad. The finals for the Holy Road were ongoing and it kept his mind preoccupied with worries and encouragement for the team. But after that had ended, there wasn't anything else to keep his attention. And the number of visitors slowly dwindled down. It was hard to make time for practice and hospital visits (although Tsurugi seemed to be a pro at that).
Going to see Taiyou and Yuuichi were options, but they were both busy with their own treatments (both going through more tests in order to recover, one from pushing himself more than he should have, the other from his operation). And the maestro would not want to interrupt anything serious or halt their recovery (even if they might argue otherwise). So, he was left to sit in his bed, on the second floor of the hospital with nothing to do. Except homework, but he had found himself quickly finished with it.
It pained him that he couldn't play soccer, even more that he was unable to have his fingers rest upon the ivory keys of his piano back home. A piano he could play in this condition; it was just a shame that the hospital was lacking in one.
There are so many things I could be doing right about now, and yet...here I am, confined to a bed, away from my own home. For another two months...I don't know if I can handle it here without something to do.
The brunette let out a sigh to his thoughts. He knew that he shouldn't be complaining about his condition. He was getting better after all. That was a good sign, he only wished that it was faster than usual.
Just as he was about to turn over and try to nap (again) there was a knock at his door.
"Not a bad time, is it?" A too familiar voice asked. As Shindou looked over, he caught the sight of his best friend. Azure eyes met with brown ones and he could feel joy lifting in his heart.
"Not at all." He replied while sitting up in his bed. "I would love your company actually."
With a smile, Kirino walked over by his bed side, taking the seat that was left for visitors right next to the patient's bed. "It looked like I was going to interrupt you sleeping. I'm glad I didn't."
"I get enough of sleep these days," Shindou replied. "Anyway, how are things going? The team still holding up? Practice going well?"
"Mhmm. The team is going great. Tenma has been getting the hang of the whole captain thing. And we're still waiting for our Virtuoso to return."
"I will return, once I manage to recover..."
"Now, how about you, Shindou? I heard from the nurse that you're really getting better." And he would have to agree. That pale look in his face had gone away completely now. He could only guess it was his leg that was the difficult part healing. It really must have been a nasty hit and Kirino could only wonder how he had managed to keep going during the rest of that match. Imagining the pain he had to be going through during that time, it really must have been unbearable.
"I feel fine. I do when I'm lying down anyway. Moving my leg is still...painful. But, not as much as it used to be. I still need to use the crutches when I want to move around."
"That's...good news though. Even if its little by little, you'll be standing and on your feet in no time." Kirino wanted to be optimistic for his friend. He could tell how much it bothered Shindou to stay here and admit that he wasn't up to par as he normally was. It even hurt him seeing Shindou confined to this bed. This wasn't how things were supposed to be.
"Yeah..." Shindou gave a half hearted reply, glancing out the window to his other side. "How long can you stay, Kirino?" He asked, voice wavering a little. As much as he loved seeing his best friend, there was only so much time one was allowed to spend at a hospital. He knew eventually that he'd have to leave. Be alone once again.
"Oh. I was hoping as long as I could. Until you have some examinations or visiting hours are over."
"I see..." Shindou went quiet for a moment. Kirino, curious and worried, tilted his head to the side, ready to ask him if he was alright. But, then the brunette spoke up.
"May I ask that you come visit again?" I know its so selfish of me to ask for his time. He has practice to attend to and I...have nothing.
Kirino chuckled to his request. He was expecting something worse, but this was good compared to what was racing through his mind. "You know, you don't need to ask something like that. Of course I'll come visit again."
"No, not like that, I mean..." Shindou frowned for a moment, repeating how selfish he was to be asking this in his mind. "Can you visit me everyday? As long as you have time to, that is..."
"Everyday...?" Kirino stared at him as he clarified that.
"I know, I know, its too much to ask. I'm sorry, you don't have t-"
"Sure."
"What?"
"I'll come visit everyday." Kirino smiled as he reaffirmed that statement. "It gets kinda lonely here, right? So, I'll come and see you every single day."
Now Shindou was staring at him, just for a moment before a smile was on his face now. "Thank you, Kirino."
"Anything for you, Shindou."
~...~
Taiyou absolutely hated having to remain in one single spot, even more in just one room in theis boring hospital. It really, really did suck. He knew that he should have gotten used to it by now, but even after years of staying in the hospital, he never did. It just wasn't in him to give in and lie down like they wanted. Yes, he was ill and thats what he needed, but he also need to get out of this cramped room and do something. Anything. (Play soccer was one of those things).
Playing in that match against Raimon had made things worse on his body. Did he regret it? No. Did his body get back at him for using way too much energy? Yes. He had been told it was a miracle that his heart was still beating after pushing himself to the limit in that match. Maybe it was, although it didn't change the fact that he was still receiving tests and treatments, even more than before that match. But, it was all worth it. He truly had the time of his life during that game and if he was going to die after that match, a part of him would have been fine with it. But, he was still alive, still kicking, still having his body practically hate him for what he did.
"Ughhh...I can't believe I have another test in just one day..." He groaned while looking up at the ceiling. "I just want to go out! Even to the balcony would be fine!"
"You know that you'll just be causing yourself and the nurse more trouble."
"Yuuichi?" Taiyou turned his head as the older Tsurugi brother entered his room. He was still pushing himself around in his wheelchair. "I thought you had the operation? So, why aren't you..."
"Walking?" Yuuichi filled in. It wasn't the first time he had heard that question. "I had my practice at using them earlier today. It'll take a few months before I can really get out of this thing."
"I can't wait to see you out of it!" Taiyou replied with a smile. He always loved how casual the other was about his disability. It was as if it didn't bother him, even if it held him back from his dream. While there were times he had seen the other grow frustrated with his injuries, he kept onto a small piece of hope that he'd recover. And now, that was becoming true. "You have to play with me once you're better, okay? You're keeping that promise, right?"
"I am. But you have to get better as well." Yuuichi laughs lightly as the smile on Taiyou's face turns into a pout. "You will get better. You have to play against Tenma again, don't you?"
"I do and I will. I intend to keep that promise...I just wish I could be super healthy already!" And not live everyday as if it were my last. "One day I will. And I'll be staying on the pitch no matter what."
"And I look forward to that day." Yuuichi replied. He was always amazed at how optimistic the other was. As far as he knew, Taiyou's condition was always wavering, especially now. Even if he seemed fine, he occasionally noticed little things, a shortness of breath, a little less spunk in his usual energy. But today, he looked well. "By the way, I've been meaning to ask you...have you seen one of the Raimon members around lately? The pink haired one?"
"Hm? You mean...Kirino?" Taiyou asked and then shook his head. "No, why?"
"My brother said that he's been seeing Kirino here a lot lately. I did guess it was for his friend on the floor above us, but I thought he might be seeing you to."
"Nah. I hardly get visitors." Taiyou shrugs while lying back against his bed. There were some occasions when his teammates would visit, but not for lengthy periods of time. The lack of visitors never bothered him greatly. "He doesn't visit you either?"
"No. Only Kyousuke." He wanted to add Tenma to, but he hadn't come by for a while. And if he did, he was certain that Tenma would end up visiting Taiyou as well. "He must be really dedicated to come as often as Kyousuke." Probably even more, but he didn't keep track of Kirino's visits.
"He must be a great friend." Or completely in love with that guy. "Hey! I think we should go and see Shindou sometime. What do you say?"
"I say thats a good idea. From what I heard he has some time here left...maybe after you're done with your tests we can."
"I'd rather go and see him then take some stupid tests..." The younger sighed out. "But alright, it'll be another couple of days before I'm done. I'll head over to your room when I'm free!"
~...~
"I'll see you tomorrow, Shindou. I might be a little late though," Kirino said while waving to his friend as he was leaving his room. Meanwhile, Taiyou and Yuuichi were hiding nearby, waiting for Kirino to leave. Neither one had wanted to interrupt their time together.
"I think he's gone..." Taiyou whispered to Yuuichi before beginning to push his wheelchair forward.
"Then its our turn to provide him with some company," Yuuichi smiled. I just hope he doesn't mind more visitors after Kirino's departure.
"Right." Taiyou grinned as he began to push the older one towards the door to the other soccer fan's room. "Shindou~! You have guests!" The boy chirped excitedly.
"Ah!" Shindou quickly turned to the door, surprised to see those two coming to be his guests. "Taiyou, Yuuichi! Its...good to see you both."
"Didja miss us?" Taiyou asked as he set Yuuichi beside Shindou's bed. While he knew there was a seat for him, the boy preferred to stand, only leaning against Yuuichi's wheelchair to relax. "We missed you, you know."
"How are things lately, Shindou?" Yuuichi asked. "You really seem to be getting better. You even look better to." And happier. He could only assume that was due to the constant visits of Kirino.
"I missed you both as well. I should have made time to see you while I'm here. But, things are great. My leg is feeling much better and I might even be let out early at this rate. And you two?"
"Oh you know, the same old tests and all that junk." Taiyou waved a hand, dismissing how serious things were for him. "Yuuichi isn't letting me sneak out any more though." He pouts.
"I want you to get better, Taiyou," He replied before looking to Shindou. "I still have a way to go before I'm walking without support. But, so far there haven't been any repercussions on my end."
"I'm glad to hear that. I'm sure soon you'll both be out of here." Shindou replied. Being polite, he knew Yuuichi would get out sooner. He could hardly guess when Taiyou would be released.
"You got that right! And then I'll be playing you both on the field!" Taiyou practically shouted. "And I wont lose to Raimon another time!"
Shindou smiled and let out a little chuckle. "I look forward to that match. I'd also love to go against you to, Yuuichi."
"I can say the same. Seeing both of your teams play, you're both very talented players and tough teams. I suppose I'll have to find one of my own and then play against each one. I guess it'll have to be a friendly match to. I don't think a team comprised of those my age would be able to properly compete against yours."
"Sometimes I forget your a bit older than us," Taiyou says. "I never knew I'd be pals with an old man."
"I'm still young, just not as young as you two."
"No matter your age, we'll gladly accept a friendly against you and whatever team you may be on." Shindou answered. "I'm sure it'll be an experience to play wi-"
"Taiyou! Taiyou, where are you?" A worried female voice was calling out for the boy and said boy's face paled slightly to it. It was Fuyuka and he already knew what this was for. While Shindou raised a brow, Yuuichi was already giving him a stern look.
"I thought you said you were done with tests today?" Yuuichi asked.
"I-I was!" Taiyou laughed nervously before sighing. "Okay, theres just one. Just a checkup and I thought it would be fine to skip it and see Shindou instead..."
"Taiyou..." Yuuichi sighed as well, shaking his head. "Sorry, Shindou. I should make sure this boy goes and gets his test."
"It's fine. It was nice seeing you two again." Shindou replied. "Would you mind if I go and visit you next time? My leg is getting stronger, so I think I can manage walking around on your floor."
"Yes!" Taiyou was quick to answer. "Come by any time!"
"Except during our tests. But, we'll see you again Shindou. See you later." Yuuichi said before dragging Taiyou off. And as they left, the brunette could hear Taiyou complaining throughout the hall.
~...~
"Is it true, Yuuichi?" Taiyou asks while flipping through a soccer magazine. Though his focus was more on the other who was struggling with his physical therapy. Admittedly, he had gotten better on his legs, though it was obvious how much it strained his body. "Is he leaving tomorrow?"
"You mean Shindou, right?" Yuuichi asked while pausing for the moment. Taking in a breath to recover some stamina. "Yeah. I'd like to see him off, but I don't think I can..."
"Me either..." Taiyou sighed. "But we can congratulate him when we're out of here."
"Yeah. We'll both go. Have a little get together with him and reminisce about our days here," Yuuichi replied.
"Is it sad that I wish he were here longer?" Taiyou asked. "I mean, that month flew by pretty quickly. It's going to suck with one less soccer fan around here."
"I'm sure you mean you wish he were here and better," Yuuichi said before taking in a breath. "He'll come to visit. I'm sure he'll bring Tenma along to." He replied before beginning to start his routine again. Hand gripping onto the bars for support while his legs were carrying his body across this short path. Each step was using more energy than he would like, but it was necessary for his recovery.
"I do. And you're right about that. Shindou is a great guy and I know he'll come visit..." He's our friend after all.
~...~
"Shindou!" Kirino's bright smile was a sight to behold as he entered this hospital room for the last time. "You have everything ready?"
"Of course," he answered while putting a bag over his shoulder. In it contained the many gifts that had helped him get through his three months here. Along with the get well soon cards and other little things he had been given during his stay. "I can't believe its finally time to leave."
"I know. Hey, need me to carry that for you?" Kirino asked, pointing to the bag.
"I'm fine, Kirino." Shindou reassured. "I'm better now." He said, taking a few steps around his friend to prove that he was completely fine now. Of course he was told not to do any serious movements immediately, which meant no soccer for a couple of weeks, but he could wait for that. He had this long, a couple of weeks would be nothing. "See?"
"I guess you are. It really is good to see you moving again. Anyway, the rest of the team wants to see you and I promised I'd take you to them." Kirino replied, slipping his hand into Shindou's, feeling the warmth from his hand was comforting, especially now that when the brunette gave it a squeeze, it wasn't out of desperation for company.
"I can't wait to see them either. I suppose I should check out and go then," Shindou replied with a smile. And as the two set out to leave, the boy found himself hesitating as they reached the floor below them. His eyes glanced down the hall, knowing that the other two boys resided here. He wanted to tell them good bye, wish them well for their recovery (again), and tell them he'd be back for a visit. Yet, when he asked Fuyuka the day before, he heard that both would be busy today.
"Shindou?"
"Hm?"
"Is something wrong? You just stopped for a moment. Is your leg still hurting?" Kirino asked, worry evident in his voice and expression.
"Sorry. I was just thinking that I wanted to say bye to some other patients, but they're busy."
"You can come back and see them. Don't worry," Kirino replied. "I'm sure they'd like to see you off to."
~...~
Taiyou let out a sigh as he was waiting for results from his latest examination. He was still peeved about being held up in a different room and having more physical tests being done on him today. He was supposed to be seeing his friend off, not being stuck in here. He even tried begging to push it back a couple of hours, but there really was no room to negotiate when the risk of dying was so high.
So, he was left in a room, just walking around (even though he was told to remain seated) and stopped at the window. A sad smile formed on his lips as he saw the familiar pink haired boy accompanying the brunette out of the hospital, hand in hand. I couldn't say good bye to him...Ah! What a pain...If I leave now, I could still catch up to them. Give him my own special farewell!
"I hope you're not thinking of leaving."
Taiyou sighs upon hearing that. "You know me too well, Yuuichi..." He said, losing his mischievous look as he turned to see Yuuichi at the door. This time, he wasn't in his wheelchair, rather using crutches to get around. "Whoa! Are you alright to be using those?"
"I'm fine. I was told I could use these while around in the hospital. Only for an hour at most." And with supervision, but no one seemed to be around to keep a close eye on him. Perhaps the other boy's sneaking habits were rubbing off just a little on him. "I heard you were almost done, so I came to see you on my way back."
"Almost. Just one more test." And another one after that. Wouldn't be surprised if that were the case. "Shindou left already. Kirino came to escort him back home I guess."
"Ah. I knew we would just miss him..."
"We'll see him again."
"Usually I'm the one that says that."
"I guess I beat you to it!" Taiyou grinned before plopping himself down on the bed in this room. "Anyway, I'll see you after my tests are over? I'm sick of being locked up in here and I really could use some interesting conversations to brighten my day."
"I'll gladly help make your day shine. Although I think it might be night by then."
"Then I'll have a shining night with you!"
"You really can make day or night shine. Well, I'll be waiting for you, Taiyou."
