one issue i have with i guess american wrestling (cause i see it here the most) , is the weird pressure to shed "unserious" gimmicks in exchange for something more badass or whatever. like you are just stripping something unique and dooming the wrestler to just be another generic first name/last name.

part of what makes wrestling fun is the suspension of disbelief, the cooky little characters that play with what's possible and what's not! and i think the mistake that american wrestling makes, (specifically now talking about aew) is the assumption that the crowd doesn't like that.

jungle boy was awesome, the crowd loved it it was cool that a man from the jungle was thrown into the ring. luchasauras was rEALLY awesome, everyone loves a big beast of a man who protects the little guys. danhausen is incredibly big with the crowd, he;s one of the top merch selling wrestlers. kris statlander is awesome, but like i do feel like if she were still an alien (or had some semblance of it) she'd be even more over than she is now...and STING HELLOOO??

i really hope they quickly stop doing this to wrestlers and realize it's doing more harm than good to a lot of their talent.. let them work with their gimmick, if a few guys online hate it who gives a shit?? they're not the one buying tickets!
