Projecting my own trauma onto Undertale Sans AUs as headcanons as a vent <3

TW: SA, P4R3NT4L N3GL3CT, EATING DISORDERS, VOMIT.

PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

This is after everybody gets together and become friends again

1. Nightmare and Dream were both SA'd badly by the villagers in the village. YEARS, and I mean 500 years later they simultaneously remembered the events that happened to them including what the villagers did and it quickly snapped in their heads. And because of that, they've been distancing themselves from everybody instead of each other bc only they know what happened.

2. Nightmare neglected his kids with Killer for the first few years of their existence. He still sorta loved them but didn't really care for them are all and Killer had to take care of 4 kids until the oldest became 17 or smth and Nightmare realized that he is practically a stranger to his kids and should take care of them. So yeah, happy ending this time. [For those who don't know, their kids are called Dark Moon, Angst, Merciless and Crescent.]

3. Cross has an issue with food. He eats and feels guilty so he proceeds to throw up out of guilt for eating. Dream has been worried about him and did everything he could to help him stop but it's a habit that can't be stopped now.

4. Blueberry felt as if though he is nothing compared to Dream and Ink and it's why he was careless about himself in a lot of fights against the bad guys, he always put Dream and Ink before him and that made him almost die multiple times before. He's slowly getting better, but he still instinctively takes hits for Dream and Ink sometimes.

He scoffs, a wisp of a shadow flicking across his form. "Why should I?"

The boy grins while tucking himself deeper into the roots, the gap in his teeth on full display. "Well! You must have something to tell!"

"I do not."

"Oh. Are you sure?"

The shadow turns to face Dream with a disapproving look, which does nothing to dampen the younger's smile. Though, he stops pushing and closes his eyes, his thoughts quieting.

When the boy has almost lulled himself to sleep, a hushed voice speaks to the night. "...Once, there was a sacred tree. And for the tree, a guardian to protect and care for it. This guardian was named Nightshade..."

Dust would say that most of the mental stuff would be the worse - fucking with his perception of reality can SERIOUSLY destabilise him for a LONG time. the uh, R-word, situations and SA are most CERTAINALLY up there.

the worst, full stop, was when Nightmare FOUND him for the first time after he ran. he crucified him. he was held like that , upside downs, for 48 hours.
