I’ve been watching a LOT of mediocre vampire movies lately and I’d like to bestow upon Michael Sheen the “you’re the most interesting character in this movie”  acting award for

playing Lucien the werewolf in Underworld & Underworld: Rise of the Lycans for being shirtless revolutionary most of the time

and Aro the vampire from the Twilight series who’s entertaining because this asshole is would fit right in with Game of Thrones

Can we talk about Percy seeing his mom in the underworld?

Look at how horrified he is.

There isn’t even a sliver of relief at seeing his mom again. The only thing on his face is wide-eyed terror.

Now look at what Sally looked like:

Did anyone else think that it seemed kind of familiar?

Did anyone else think that it kind of looks like she’s frozen in gold?

Percy saw his mom and it instantly reminded him of being encased inside Hephaestus’s trap in Waterland. Paralyzed and awake while he suffocated slowly and painfully. He’s remembering the panic he felt when he thought he was going to die and how much it hurt when he was freed; Even though he was alive, his lungs burned with every inhale and his head spun from lack of oxygen.

Now he’s putting his mom in that position

luke fumbling in recruiting percy has to be one of his greatest failures. a beautiful thing the show does regarding luke and percy's relationship is building rapport between them through shared moments like settling into camp, eating meals together, but especially through swordfighting lessons. the swordfighting scene at the beginning of episode 8 not only reveals that percy and luke already share similar beliefs about the fear-based system the gods have cultivated, but it's clear the conversation stays with percy when he fights ares and later calls out zeus on his waning skills as a father and a king. however, luke's plan fell through the moment percy learned that the winged-shoes were meant to drag him to tartarus. not only that, but the shoes nearly killed grover, a friend percy cared for deeply. if nourishing loyalty and trust was the key to ensuring a partnership with percy, then it was luke's faulty planning, arrogance, and impatience that cost him the greatest ally he could ask for.

Okay but I would've folded to hades so quick. You would protect me, my mom, and my goat friend against Kronos? And I get to maybe live in this cool underworld place and play with cerberus without having to worry about the gods and their quarrels bc that's just so much drama? Bring me that pomegranate snack, I'm staying

I can’t stop thinking about the fact that Grovers Pearl is inside Cerberus.

What if his digestive system crushes it? Is there suddenly going to be a three headed dog appearing on this Santa Monica pier?

really though why would they cut doa records and make the waterbed store the entrance to the underworld? it should've been the other way around imo. like i remember rick admitting the movie making the hollywood sign the entrance to the underworld was a cool idea, and that worked bc it functioned similarly to the book—a record studio, hollywood, either way it's the same wink wink commentary on fame and glamour actually being a gateway to hell ('selling your soul to the devil'). sure it's cliche but at least there's a thought pattern you can follow there. that was a big part of the fun of the books, seeing the ways the real world and the mythological world blended, and in the show we're losing that. the entrance to the underworld is a goddamn waterbed store because...? no good reason.

Okay so obviously so far the show is following the structure of the book while changing/adding new details into each chapter (which I love btw) and I was rewatching the trailer and found these couple of shots from (I believe) the underworld episode that have me nervous for my girl Annabeth…

Like where is she?? Maybe she gets separated from them during the Cerberus distraction (which was also briefly shown in the trailer)? Would love to hear any theories
