the burnout is real. i have to do smth about it b4 it gets worse bc i really want to enjoy the courses i'm taking rn and i WAS able to enjoy it in the beginning... but the only way i can feel okay doing smth other than study is if i finish this week's stuff by friday... wish me luck cuz the motivation and willpower are quickly draining! 😅😣 (also the fact that the sun's setting noticeably earlier is NOT helping [as much as i love autumn, this is my least favorite part XD])

finished biochem notes for today + watched ninja nerd video on tca cycle bc i didn't feel like reading (and it actually surprisingly helped reduce the overwhelm bc he included a lot of info i got to skip over cuz we don't need to know it for this course 😅)

parting thoughts on ragna crimson (first cour)

i think it was... the first episode? that i didn't really vibe with. felt like a decent enough fantasy, but unremarkable in just about every way

THEN A WEIRD GUY APPEAR

iirc it wasn't until the second week that we really met crimson, which is kind of a shame because imo the show doesn't really start to come together until then. i like ragna well enough, but it's really the combination of the two of them that compels me

always love a duo where they have the same goal, but drastically different personalities/values/modes of operation/etc

always extra love a duo that's like "team up with me, a dragon, to kill all dragons then once we've achieved our goal you'll kill me too"

(like vanoe but with dragons. i think. my memories of vnc are actually very hazy)

and always extra extra love when ayu gets to just do his thing, playing guys who are girls who are guys who are etc etc etc

it's certainly not the best of the season, and still overall fairly unremarkable imo, but also not really bad in any way. if there's one thing i find lackluster i guess it's that i feel like they don't lean enough into this... pseudo-past life thing that ragna has going on (with the powers and presumably memories of his 'older self' passed down to him)

like ragna is still more or less his 'normal' self in terms of personality, which is fine, he's got a fun enough personality, but if he had some like... old man tendencies mixed in there, or if we saw more of his memories with crimson maybe? i don't know, just feels like something more could have been done with that fusion of past and present (or rather future and present)

looking forward to the second cour but at the same time... hoping this series won't be too long lol

Sometimes I don’t mind looking at canon x canon ships with my f/o because I can just put myself in the other character’s shoes or just focus the loving expression my f/o has.

Other times, when I have those moments of struggling when seeing canon x canon ships, it turns into a bit of angst which may lead or may not lead to comfort scenarios.

Quick and genuine question: how did you get into the bowuigi train anyway? Just curious is all :)

I will give you a genuine but maybe not so quick answer. Years ago I happened upon @cousineggplant's bowuigi art on twitter. I don't remember under what circumstances I found them but I remember thinking the pairing was cute and buying their doujin when it was available online (this was like 2019?2020?). At the time there was like no community for this ship, I think AO3 had like 8 works back then? I'm still following @cousineggplant, I actually found out that bowuigi had made a resurgence because they started posting about it again. In reality if it wasn't for them y'all probably would have never gotten all these comics out of me!

Actually this may come as a surprise for the people who know me from Asoot/the Nijiue siblings but i really don't like Iroha at all, i remember not liking her that much even back in the day when chapters were still coming out.

And it's crazy because i would never have made them if it wasn't for the voidswap au where i was like "huh since Iroha is taking Yoruko's place who could she talk to in that scene from chapter 6?" Then i started thinking and working on Hitaru, Jiro and Akemi to use for that, which ended up not even happening since voidswap was canceled.
