Tag Game: Dig a Little Deeper
Thank you for the tag, @theproblemwithstardust! These are always fun to think through!
1. do you prefer writing with a black pen or a blue pen? Blue
2. would you prefer to live in the country or in the city? Depends on the city - I was very happy in Edinburgh, but wouldn’t be able to live in New York, I think, at least not for long. In general, the happy middle is ideal - big enough to get most of the advantages of a city (big shops with long opening hours, good travel connections, some cultural options), but small enough and close enough to the country side to have a garden and a short way into a forest
3. if you could learn a new skill, what would it be? I think I’d like to be better at handy man type things, and just feel more confident to try them out? Other than that there are so many instruments I’d love to learn!
4. do you drink your tea/coffee with sugar? I very, very rarely drink coffee, and if I do I’ll often add some sugar. But I drink tea every day and take no sugar there.
5. what was your favorite book as a child? An old book of my grandma’s, from when she was a child, which I used to read every single time we visited! It was about four sisters and their coming of age and I just loved it! I really need to reread it. Other than that our fairy tale books (good old German bloody versions, no disney sugar in this household!), and Max Kruse’s Urmel series!
6. do you prefer baths or showers? Showers for sure! I pretty much only take a bath in winter and then I’ll usually take a quick shower afterwards to wash my hair, because washing my hair in the bath is a pain that will lead to flooding.
7. if you could be a mythical creature, which one would you be? A DRAGON!!!!! If that’s for some reason not an option, then a selkie!
8. paper or electronic books? Paper books and electronic fics - though I’ve seen some book binding tutorials making the rounds and I’m very tempted now to print out my favourites and bind them prettily!
9. what is your favorite item of clothing? Gosh, I don’t even know? Probably a dress, but I wouldn’t be able to choose between them...
10. do you like your name? would you like to change it? I like it and wouldn’t want to change it! It’s relatively rare here (though not world wide, so not some strange invention from my parents), but not to the point of being incomprehensible (usually - there have been some interesting spellings, especially from English speaking people) and I think it fits me!
11. who is a mentor to you? My mum? But she’s my mum, so does she really count as a mentor? Singing wise perhaps my conductor, but she’s also a pain, so there’s that? I can’t really think of someone I’d truly call my mentor!
12. would you like to be famous? if so, what for? To do Dancing with the Stars! (Or Strictly, or Let’s dance, wherever they’ll take me!) No seriously, I’d love to do one of the dance shows, and that’s the only reason I’d like to be famous. I’d like to be reasonably rich of course, to be financially secure enough to be able to easily help family and friends and causes close to my heart (and buy and uphold a Scottish castle), but you don’t necessarily need to be famous for that. But just being famous for famous-sake? To be recognised wherever you go? No thanks. That sounds absolutely horrible.
13. are you a restless sleeper? That’s a pretty resounding yes unfortunately.
14. Do you consider yourself to be a romantic person? Oh god, I don’t even know. Do I enjoy romance? In fic yes, in books and films often not, in realy life excessive PDA creeps me out and honestly, my threshold for that is super low, so excessive probably means more like ‘any PDA’. As for whether I’m personally romantic? I’ve never been a romantic relationship and I’m not sure I even want to be!
15. which element best represents you? Earth perhaps? I’m not really sure what the elements even represent, though, so who knows! Probably not fire, though :p
16. who do you want to be closer to? I’m good actually, I think!
17. do you miss someone at the moment? Not in a particular ‘I miss you right now and won’t miss you in an hour’ way. I always miss my dad and grandpa, but that’s a different kind of missing, I think.
18. tell us about an early childhood memory. I remember the blinds and doors of the holiday home we stayed in when I was ... four? five? And the path to the beach!
19. what is the strangest thing you have eaten? I’m not the most adventurous eater admittedly, but as far as ‘I’ll never eat it again’, I took a bite out of a pickled egg once and it was properly disgusting!
20. what are you most thankful for? My family and my living circumstances (is that a word? term? It sounds weird)
21. do you like spicy food? Not reallyyyyyy - some spice is okay, and some spiciness is worse than others, but in general I’m a total wuss.
22. have you ever met someone famous? I said good morning to David Tennant, but I’m not sure I’d call that “having met him”.
23. do you keep a diary or journal? Nope! I’ve started one a couple of times, but never made it beyond three days or so!
24. do you prefer to use pen or pencil? Generally a pen, but a pencil is fine, too!
25. what is your star sign? Leo
26. do you like your cereal crunchy or soggy? Crunchy! (though I haven’t had actual cereal in ages)
27. what would you want your legacy to be? Positive, if I’m to have a legacy at all
28. do you like reading? What was the last book you read? Very much so! I last read Cornelia Funke’s Reckless series.
29. how do you show someone you love them? I try to tell them, and I try to make sure they know I’m here to listen or help or talk or whatever they need. I’m not sure I always succeed, though...
30. do you like ice in your drinks? No.
31. what are you afraid of? Not being good enough.
32. what is your favorite scent? My roses - individuals with a superb scent are The Lady of Shalott, Rose de Resht and Sweet Juliet, but there’s something really special about that first breath of rose air when Frühlingsduft (scent of spring), the first rose of the year blooms!
33. do you address older people by their name or surname? Surname! Unless they offer their first name and the ‘Du’, and even then I’ll probably try to avoid using either^^°
34. if money was not a factor, how would you live your life? I’d buy a Scottish castle and plant so many roses!
35. do you prefer swimming in pools or the ocean? Definitely pools, I’m always just a little afraid something is going to happen in natural water^^°
36. what would you do if you found $50 in the ground? I’d collect them (Unless I just saw who lost them) but try to put it towards something charitable (not 50, but one day I found two pounds on the ground, gave them to the homeless person with the kitty on Princes Street, found another pound, gave that to the one with the pupper and found another three, I think! That was a really nice day)
37. have you ever seen a shooting star? did you make a wish? Yes and yes!
38. what is one thing you would want to teach your children? To be kind? To themselves and others
39. if you had to have a tattoo, what would it be and where would you get it? A watercolour tattoo probably, perhaps of a dragon or fox, or a flower, and somewhere not always on display
40. what can you hear now? If I opened the window I’d probably hear at least some birds (some woke me up this morning with unholy yowling)
41. where do you feel the safest? At home.
42. what is one thing you want to overcome/conquer? My perfectionism that usually appears through some really strong procrastination. I also wish I was better at talking to people, especially people I don’t know or who are intimidating (which is everyone I don’t know and quite of those I know a little). I’ve mostly come to terms with my shyness, but that doesn’t make everything easy suddenly, unfortunately.
43. if you could travel back to any era, what would it be? There’s way too many! But for just one I’d love to see a Shakespeare play in the Globe when it was performed originally, ideally Twelfth Night or Hamlet! And I’d like to meet Queen Elizabeth I!
44. what is your most used emoji? 😘 probably or 😊
45. describe yourself using one word. overwhelmed (I am also hungry and tired right now, and that plays a big part in that - ask me again in an hour or so when I’ve eaten and the world will look a little more rose-y again^^°)
46. what do you regret the most? I can’t think of anything I truly regret - there are things I wish I’d done differently, but what’s done is done and I have to do the best with what I have now
47. last movie you saw? The Martian!
48. last tv show you watched? Die purpurnen Flüsse/Les rivières pourpres (the purple rivers), a French (German co production?) series based on the novel the Jean Reno film was based on!
49. invent a word and its meaning. This is hard because in German you can just compound away, so for every thing I think of, I’m like ‘but you could just put these three words together for the same effect!!!’ But this is English, so I’ll go with “pflundering” - the sound a bird makes when it takes a very enthusiastic bath!
This took quite a bit, and my brain is no longer able to come up with people to tag, so I’m tagging you, person who actually read through this! Do it (be honest, you already thought up most of your answers while reading it^^) and tag me, I’m curious!

100 Reasons to Love Vivia Nihar
Inspired by @wrongshatteredrealms and their post about 100 reasons why Destin Karn is their favorite character from Shattered Realms.  This post took a while to make, but Vivia really deserves it.  It’s quite long, I warn you.
1. She loves her country even after everything the people in it put her through
2. She is a feminist icon
3. Her nickname is “Little Fox” and that’s just adorable
4. She’s so strong in spite of her mental health issues
5. Her mother committed suicide and she still manages to go past the place where it happened all the time without breaking down each time
6. She just cares about Stix so much and would die for her
7. When she realized just how much Serafin has been manipulating her, she tried her best to do something about it
8. She is a pirate princess who also happens to be a lesbian, and honestly you can’t get any cooler than that
9. “Do I look like I care about plums?”
10. “Now would be the right time for the gardener to complain about his plum trees”
11. She has that habit of patting the sides of her face like she’s checking to make sure her mask is in place
12. She calls Merik “Merry” and it makes me laugh every time
13. She’s the Chosen Daughter of the VOID WELL, which nobody thought existed
14. The lack of patience she has with the vizers is amusing, but she takes it to an art form with Serrit Linday and it’s priceless
15. Her annoyed internal monologue about how it seems like five thousand servants have stopped to talk to her, interrupted only by another servant coming to talk to her before she mentally changes the count to five thousand and one
16. All the pining for Stix in her POV chapters with the constant repetition of “Too good for me”
17. When she saves Merik’s life by showing up out of nowhere and cutting off Garren’s head
18. When, upon cutting off Garren’s head, she gloats by saying “Come back from that”
19. Even when Merik constantly misgenders Cam in Windwitch, Vivia still has a hard time believing he’s a girl
20. Later in Bloodwitch when Cam is introduced as a boy, Vivia immediately believes it (Merik, take lessons from your sister)
21. Her own brother thinks she’s intimidating and trying to have him killed, but she really just needs a hug
22. “I could have just as many titles if I wanted”
23. The way that as soon as she realizes Stix is missing, she goes into an absolute panic because what if something happened to her???
24. How she gets chills when Vizer Sotar calls her “My Queen” because no one’s ever called her that before
25. She put in so much work for the under-city but got recognized for none of it
26. She came up with a really awesome speech but didn’t get to say it
27. When Cam is talking about Paladins and magical doorways in Bloodwitch and externally Vivia is like, “Yeah, okay” when internally she’s basically saying, “What in the world is he talking about - ”
28. She completely tricked Merik into believing that the boat miniature was actually representing a Dalmotti trade ship
29. She also tricked Merik into believing that she believed him when he lied about where the miniature was
30. When she’s just so done with Linday in the council meeting and she keeps mentally making her ideal punishment for him even worse
31. Until she’s thinking about how he should be drawn, quartered, eviscerated, and burned to ashes and she gets distracted from the actual meeting
32. How flustered she gets when Stix kisses her on the cheek
33. How she constantly refers to that moment as “the kiss” even though it wasn’t a real kiss because it was so emotional for her
34. She quite literally jumps into a valley filled with seafire to save the people of Lovats
35. When Merik saves her from dying as she plummets through the valley of seafire, she acts like it’s an everyday occurrence and proceeds to just go about her business
36. She has a hard time trusting Cam at first, which makes sense, but as soon as he mentions the message that Stix sent her, Vivia immediately trusts him because it’s better than risking the chance that Stix might not need help
37. “You may lower your water” “Oh may I?  I’m so glad to have your permission”
38. She has plans to put more women on the High Council once she’s officially queen
39. When Vivia, a person who has never had a real conversation with Safi, knows within about five seconds that the reason Safi wants Marstok to trade with Nubrevna is because of Merik
40. Over the course of Bloodwitch, she goes from barely interacting with Vizer Sotar to going to talk to him for literally everything and asking for advice and help
41. Anybody could say any random thing and she’d find a way to connect it to the fact that Stix is perfect and amazing
42. When she gets the message from Vaness suggesting a meeting over trade, she just starts laughing because she thinks it’s a trick, then when Stix says she should go she’s like “okay”
43. That kind of infuriating thing where she writes a message to Vaness via the Wordwitched paper after telling the empress she got home safely and we don’t get to know what she said
44. “You can keep [the pencil].  I have others” “As do I.  We’re not that poor”
45. How she bickers with Vaness for well over two pages about whose fault it was that the Truce got broken and who needed help more
46. When she thinks Merik is dead, the extent of her reaction is pretty much “Aw, that’s too bad” but when Stix goes missing for a day, she’s in an utter panic and asking Vizer Sotar where she could possibly be
47. How she learns to stop apologizing to Serafin and stop feeling guilty over the things he does to her
48. When she’s anxious over something, she stops and remembers [insert advice from her mother].  It doesn’t sound like a lot but when you remember that the whole country thinks her mother was insane and you remember their mother-daughter relationship, it’s sweet
49. That moment in Bloodwitch where her thought process is basically “I like how Stix always calls me ‘sir,’ it shows we respect each other but not in terms of royalty...wait why is she calling me ‘Your Highness’ now, does she not think we’re friends anymore?...oh thank God she called me ‘Viv,’ we’re friends for sure”
50. Nubrevna needed food, and it wasn’t getting food, so she just decided to steal it
51. She’s unbelievably calm when Merik holds a pistol to her head
52. She tries so hard to stop the Fury but doesn’t realize that the Fury is a reincarnated Paladin who happens to be pretty much immortal
53. For all those times Merik thought about how she treated her crew like servants, you don’t see her chaining people to the deck for 10 hours at a time
54. She is shameless about her piracy because she knows it’s for the greater good of Nubrevna
55. When she orders the generals to do something and they refuse, and she realizes that her crown was taken away and she hadn’t even been there for the vote like...poor Little Fox
56. When she has that realization that Jana had managed to bear with the shadows instead of nurturing them as Serafin had, and that made her even stronger than him
57. “Vivia was ready to be Queen” yes!!!
58. No matter what Merik does, chances are her response would be “ugh” or rolling her eyes because they are Siblings™
59. She doesn’t have as many of the action or fight scenes as the other characters, but I’m still always so excited for her next chapter because she’s just so amazing
60. When she decides it’s time to stop trying to be a good daughter and start trying to be a good ruler
61. When she mentally agrees with Vizer Sotar that Cam’s “door” is, in fact, a wall
62. When she’s simultaneously annoyed and impressed by how much clay and water Vaness put out before their meeting to make her feel safe against the empress’s Ironwitchery
63. That trick she does with the water at the meeting with the vizers
64. She reminds the High Council that it was Jana and not Serafin who signed the Truce, so he should not get the credit
65. When she stands up to her father and says that there is no way he’s fit to lead an army after having almost died
66. “I decide who holds the title of Admiral and I haven’t appointed you”
67. When she basically tells Serafin that he’s a pathetic soldier and he exaggerated all of his accomplishments, like Vivia, you tell him
68. The internal jealousy when she thinks Stix is seeing someone else
69. When she canonically thinks that Vizer Sotar is the only one on the council who has a fully operational brain
70. She does such a good job of pretending that Merik is dead at his funeral
71. For all she was talking about how the meeting with Vaness would be pointless, she actually stayed in touch with the empress and it’s a good thing she did
72. For that matter, she didn’t give up on Vaness’s negotiations when the empress had to end their meeting abruptly to talk to Habim
73. She isn’t physically described too much in the books, so the reader gets to have their own image in their head of what she looks like, more or less
74. Even though she’s proven to be good with a blade, most of the time she honestly doesn’t need one because of her Tidewitchery
75. When she sends Linday off to do something menial just so she can have a moment alone, but (unfortunately) he barks at some servant to do it instead, and she has to put up with Serrit Linday for even longer
76. When she internally calls Linday “slimy”
77. She stays so remarkably composed while the vizers tell her that her throne has been reclaimed by Serafin, even though her life is falling apart
78. She still goes to Jana’s garden sometimes
79. Most of the country thinks she is weak because she’s a woman and because her mother committed suicide, but omg Vivia can GET THINGS DONE
80. When Vaness dropping the pencil is actually reassuring to her because it means that she’s a human and not 100% perfect, 100% of the time
81. Her friendship with Stix is just amazing - so much mutual respect and support
82. Her self-esteem is nonexistent, but Stix trying to boost it always seems to make her day
83. She worked so hard to get the food for Nubrevna that it was so heartbreaking when she realized it was all for nothing
84. For that matter, the same goes for her efforts for the under-city
85. In Windwitch she mentions how she hates spiders, but later she gets a spider off Merik when he doesn’t notice it’s there #SisterlyLove
86. After Stix kisses her on the cheek, she literally just stands there because she’s just so 😍 overwhelmed 😍
87. When Serafin jokes about Vivia possibly having arranged for Vaness’s death and she’s horrified at the idea but externally is like “yeah...ha ha ha”
88. When she was a kid, she found an abandoned room in one of the palace wings and she decorated it herself and called it her fox’s den, which is the cutest thing ever
89. When she realizes that the Void Well is the Void Well and she knows she should bring her father down to heal him but some part of her doesn’t know if she should...she’s just so confused and, I repeat, really needs a hug
90. That moment where she’s so busy that she doesn’t try to put on a façade and Stix actually notices and she’s just so touched
91. When Vivia decides that even though she doesn’t know Cam, there is no way she’s going to stand there and do nothing while Garren cuts off his finger
92. When she has no idea what just happened but she’s glad she saved Merik’s life, so this one time she has no regrets
93. When she is so overwhelmed by all the negative things happening that she thinks to herself that this must be what drowning feels like, and it’s just so painful to read
94. That moment in Windwitch where she’s so scared that something might happen to Merik or her crew and she feels like she’s somewhere between Serafin and Jana and she doesn’t know which side is the better one, so she makes that decision to save the city even though she thinks it’ll kill her
95. When she manages to start over with Merik and put everything in the past
96. How all of her irritation towards the vizers goes out the window whenever she talks to or thinks about Stix
97. How she’s so frustrated by Vaness at first but by the end has a lot of respect for her
98. The way she acts in front of the council in comparison to the way she acts when she’s alone
99. She’s part of Vix, an amazing ship!!!!
100. In conclusion, Vivia is such an incredible character and deserves all the love in the world.  Thank you for reading 🙂

@alienfuckeronmain tagged me in a super long list of questions to get to know me, which I’m THRILLED about! Since I don’t think many people will want to read through 49 things about me, I’m going to tag @jessiohhh, @armiteggio, and @watsonmoony up here, to do if you want! (Yes I’m tagging you all again, but still, no pressure!)
1. Do you prefer writing with a black pen or blue pen? black pen all the way
2. Would you prefer to live in the country or city? I had to actually think about this because I have always loved cities so much. BUT. I think I like the idea of living in them more than I would actually like it. I definitely prefer the peacefulness of living in the country though, especially if it’s near a body of water. Could even just be a stream or pond.
3. If you could learn a new skill what would it be? Hmmmm. Most of the skills I want to learn wouldn’t be useful?!? Like, learning Elvish. I suppose it would be nice to actually learn to draw. OR GROW PLANTS.
4. Do you drink your tea/coffee with sugar? Coffee, yes, with creamer too. Tea is had black though.
5. What was your favourite book as a child? How are we defining child? Because like. Under 10 age, it was the book called The Witches and the Singing Mice by Jenny Nimmo about these two tom cats that save the children in a village from witches who put them in a coma like thing. I fucking loved it and yes, I still have it on my shelf.
6. Do you prefer baths or showers? showers! I’ve never been a bath person. I don’t understand it. Showers are the ultimate for chilling out and winding down, and mine tend to last like thirty minutes or as long as we have hot water.
7. If you could be a mythical creature, which one would it be? I... have no fucking clue. Fairy?? (unless we’re including hobbit in mythical, which I think we should because that’s my choice)
8. Paper or electronic books? Paper. I’ve found that if I read published books electronically, I tend to not take it as seriously or judge it more harshly. Or maybe the books I’ve read electronically just sucked. IDK.
9. What is your favourite item of clothing? I stole a hoodie from my dad when I moved out. I’m pretty sure he’s had since the nineties. It’s just light blue and soooooo soft.
10. Do you like your name or would you like to change it? I used to not like my name (Robyn), but I’ve learned to love it and I wouldn’t want it to be something else.
11. Who is a mentor to you? One of my professors, probably. I still check in him with once a year, despite not having him as a teacher in about seven years. He helped me understand the psychology field a lot better, and I felt more prepared becoming a therapist because of him.
12. Would you like to be famous and if so, what for? fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck no. If I get famous for anything, it will be for having a trademarked expression showing my displeasure.
13. Are you a restless sleeper? Yes, indeed. I’ve had insomnia for about fourteen years. It’s worse when I’m going through the PTSD season (roughly September-December), and the rest of the year I tend to move around a lot or talk in my sleep.
14. Do you consider yourself a romantic person? yesssss but I think other people would disagree
15. Which element best represents you? water!
16. Who do you want to be closer to? I have gotten better at pursuing friendships, and those things take time, so I’m not sure if there’s anyone in particular that I’m like, scared to approach.
17. Do you miss someone at the moment? my parents, always. Living twelve hours away sucks balls.
18. Tell us about an early childhood memory. Okay. I was once brought home by a police officer when I was nine for loitering at a pet store down the street. The employee (who had to be like seventeen or something) called the fucking cops instead of just talking to me. And then I panicked and tried to run, IMMEDIATELY got caught, and then tried to lie about where I lived. Needless to say, by the time the cop got me home, he was thoroughly unimpressed and was very rude to my dad as a result and apparently made some comment about him not being a fit father because he was covered with tattoos (???). (Also, I recognize that me getting away with this is peak privilege)
19. What is the strangest thing you have eaten? All of freshman year, a friend and I would combine our breakfasts/snacks in our English class. This typically was strawberry poptarts, cheetos, and pink lemonade. It’s actually really fucking good. Super bad for you.
20. What are you most thankful for? the support of my partner, even though I’m currently annoyed at him.
21. Do you like spicy food? Nooooo, I cannot handle it at all
22. Have you ever met someone famous? Yes! Mostly from Cons and stuff, the highlight of which was meeting Nicholas Brendan.
23. Do you do you keep a diary or journal? not usually, but I will write things down to help with processing them. After my grandma died and the subsequent family drama, there was a lot of ‘journaling’
24. Do you prefer to use a pen or a pencil? Pen! Can’t stand pencils.
25. What is your star sign? Sagittarius
26. Do you like your cereal soggy or crunchy? What kind of question is this? Who likes soggy cereal?
27. What would you want your legacy to be? That I tried my best, honestly. I don’t think about it much beyond that.
28. Do you like reading, what was the last book you read? i LOVE reading. I’ve fallen out of the habit since I went through college and haven’t been able to get back up to where I was. The last book I read all the way through would have been Hunchback of Notre Dame, which I actually thoroughly enjoyed! Currently I’m reading my way through the History of Middle Earth, which means jumping between seven different books to do chronologically.
29. How do you show someone you love them? my love language is quality time or physical touch, so spending time and lots of hugs!
30. Do you like ice in your drinks? In lemonade or juice drinks, yes. Everything else no - especially not water
31. What are you afraid of? Oh, so many things. Top of the list is the loss of my family or cats.
32. What is your favourite scent? Lavender, sandalwood, or the ocean
33. Do you address older people by their name or surname? I don’t tend to address anyone by their name...
34. If money was not a factor, how would you live your life? I would honestly be home a lot more and not have a TBR pile consisting of over a hundred books.
35. Do you prefer swimming in pools or the ocean? I don’t really have a preference! I love water and swimming, so any body of water works for me. I won’t, however, swim in a pool when I’m near an ocean. That just seems weird to me.
36. What would you do if you found £50 on the ground? Probably spend it, honestly. Buy a meal for myself or something a bit fun.
37. Have you ever seen a shooting star? I think so?
38. What is the one thing you would want to teach your children? I am except from this question because that will not be happening! I do try to make sure my niece accepts herself for how she is and that she doesn’t have to BE anything to be loved
39. If you had to have a tattoo, what would it be and where would you get it? Well, I have tattoos already. And I have one planned for next month! I’m getting a Sweet Pea on my forearm for my grandma, because she always called me a sweet pea. Other than that, I have plans to the ring poem by tolkien around my ankle in the black speech.
40. What can you hear now? I can’t do anything without listening to music, which is currently Pirateship by Rumahoy, because @alienfuckeronmain has gotten me into metal like I’ve never been before
41. Where do you feel the safest? In my partner’s hugs
42. What is the one thing you want to overcome/conquer? hating my body
43. Of you could travel back to any era, what would it be? I don’t want to chooooooose. All of them. All of them.
44. What is your most used emoji? the crying laughing face
45. Describe yourself using one word. Random!
46. What do you regret the most? Regrets.... I guess I regret not being closer to the side of the family that has always liked/supported me until I was an adult. I could have had so many more memories with them and been closer to those cousins! Instead of the ones that straight up abandoned me. Good times.
47. Last movie you saw? King of Staten Island, actually. It was pretty good, but I felt like it ended too early
48. Last tv show you watched? It’s always New Girl, technically, because I fall asleep watching it. Other than that, probably John Oliver last week.
49. Invent a word and it’s meaning. I don’t invent words. I do, however, invent a sign language of my own that involves gesticulating wildly while trying to convey my meaning. I have no way to describe these signs in text, unfortunately.

Ace Mindhunter - 1st Interview
Characters: Simon Blackquill, Athena Cykes, Shi-Long Lang, and a rogues gallery of AA villains. Fandom: Ace Attorney. Pairings: N/A. Warnings/rating: 16+, I would say. Talk of heavy themes such as death and abuse, plus cursing. Spoilers for every AA game up to Spirit of Justice, AAI2 included. Gratuitous amounts of headcanon for antagonists. Summary: Simon Blackquill is roped into a Behavioral Analysis project along with Athena Cykes. They must sit down with convicted murderers for interviews, in hopes of finding out just what drove them to their convoluted crimes.
((A/N: This fic is based on Mindhunter, which is not only a good series on Netflix but an actual book written by John Douglas, the FBI agent who played a very important role in the Behavioral Science Unit from 1977 to 1995. Behavioral Science aimed towards serial killers is a real thing and it’s fascinating. As an additional note, the prison’s setup is based on AAI2′s explanation of how it all works over there, so if you never absorbed any info from that game, you might be a bit lost.
Anyway, mind the warnings up there and enjoy!))
1st Interview Dee
Date: June 5th 2028 Time: 2:02 PM Location: Interview Room. Dee Vasquez was a woman in her mid forties, though the only reason Simon Blackquill knew this was because the paperwork in front of him told him so. Her short hair was as black as could be and her features showed virtually no wrinkles. Just as most other convicted felons, she was wearing the standard prison uniform of black and white stripes. There was also a metallic bracelet around her wrist, which ensured she couldn't leave the room without suffering a nasty disciplinary shock. Harsh as it seemed, that measure still paled in comparison to the shackles Simon had worn up until half a year ago. His own wrists itched at the mere memory of it. He had seen her around death row during his own incarceration, but he'd never paid her any mind. She had been very adapt at keeping to herself, just as he himself had been. There was something to be said about the company of fellow inmates, but that 'something' was not Simon's cup of tea. He'd had Taka. As far as he could recall, Vasquez had never been in the company of a therapy animal. “I will be recording this conversation. Is that all right?” he asked, sliding a device towards the center of the table which stood between them. As he felt it best to have her agreement on tape as well, it was already cementing the sounds in the room. Vasquez glanced down at it from the corner of her eye, but said nothing. Her expression, one of boredom, implied that this interview would be more troublesome than advertised. 'An easy start', Lang had told him. 'A pain in the arse', Simon concluded at this time. “... I shall accept that as confirmation.” “Hm.” Simon drew in a quick breath through his nose, then peered down at the prepared statement he was meant to give. Even looking at those words made him feel more formal than he would ever hope to be. Still, it was expected of him to say these things out loud. “Now, I am here on behalf of Interpol's Behavioral Analysis Unit,” he ultimately began. “What you discuss with me is subject to Interpol's confidentiality clause and cannot be used against you in your applications for parole. I'll be asking you about your family history, antecedent behavior and thought patterns surrounding the crime you have committed. Our goal is to compile several psychological profiles and, ultimately, use them to create a statistical analysis which will not include your name.” Vasquez crossed her arms over her chest, sitting back in her chair. “What is the meaning of this? I was convicted almost twelve years ago.” “The lady is quite observant,” Simon replied dryly. “As I've already stated, your answers will not serve as a weapon we may wield against you. Rather, by delving into your history and psyche, we hope to corner and disarm others like you.” “Others like me?” “Those who would take another's life and avoid their responsibility in the matter. Specifically, those who go to asburd lengths to shift the blame of that crime onto an innocent bystander.” “Innocent? Hardly.” Simon felt his eyes narrow at the statement. “You don't believe that Will Powers was unrelated to Jack Hammer's death?” “That is not what I said. However, I believe that no man is innocent.” The air with which Vasquez had uttered that statement was so very nonchalant, it came across as a fact of life rather than biased opinion. She still hadn't glanced Simon's way yet, either. She did nothing but stare up towards a far corner of the room. Why she had even agreed to sit across from him was difficult to estimate. Perhaps she'd simply wanted a change of scenery. Simon placed a hand on the table and leaned forward. “Even if no man is innocent, you are the one donning the garb of the common criminal.” “... Shouting.” “I beg your pardon?” “Out in the courtyard. Two men are shouting. Do you hear them?” Closing his eyes and straining his ears, he could indeed distinguish it. A pair of deep voices was engaged in an argument somewhere. That something so faint would catch Vasquez's attention was ludicrous, but then, perhaps anything was more interesting than Simon's words. Taking in a few seconds of the silence which reigned, he thought back to what had roped him into this situation in the first place. ------- Date: June 3rd 2028 Time: 4:23 PM Location: Simon Blackquill's Office. Even with all his past research into the Phantom, Simon had rarely ever spoken to anyone from Interpol. Perhaps it was because he didn't want them to hinder his work, or perhaps it was because Interpol itself hadn't deigned him worthy of their attention. If indeed it was the latter, the events of five months prior must have left such a grand crater that Simon, who was standing in the middle of it all, could no longer be ignored. To have a senior investigator visit him in his humble office would have been considered sudden overkill, were Simon not aware that Shi-Long Lang was long-time friends with the Chief Prosecutor. Simon's first impression was that Lang had walked through the door with extreme reluctance, perhaps even distaste. There was a particularly stiff slouch to his walk which implied as much, but it was the tone of voice which set it into stone. “Simon Blackquill. We meet at last.” “Not for lack of effort from my hand. And that's Prosecutor Blackquill, if you don't mind.” Lang's mouth curled into something of a smirk. As he made no attempt to approach Simon's desk and instead lingered near the door, Simon in turn decided not to get up from his chair. Courtesy was a favor to be repaid, after all. “Quite right. You did not clear your record for nothing. I have to say, though, the image of pencil pusher doesn't suit you at all. Lang Zi says: A wild wolf has no place among tamed retrievers.” “You must have gained the wrong impression of a prosecutor's duties from some of my colleagues. I tend not to push pencils unless the intention is for them to go up a culprit's nose.” “Getting confessions in any way you see fit, huh? That's a Twisted Samurai for ya.” Despite Simon's grin matching Lang's own, there was no covering the elephant in the room. Small talk, no matter how tinged with dark humor, was small talk all the same. The folder clutched in one of the Interpol agent's hands must have been there for a reason. “Agent Lang, humbled as I am that you would travel all the way here to speak with me, I doubt either of us are the sort to beat around the bush. Why are you here?” “Interpol has a project for you.” “I don't work for Interpol. I work for the Chief Prosecutor.” “And that Chief Prosecutor has so kindly agreed to relay all your most challenging cases, so that you may work with Interpol on a part-time basis.” A wild urge to protest dawned on Simon, only to die down as quickly as it'd arisen. If the Chief Prosecutor had agreed to this, it must've been important. Not only that; if Interpol needed assistance from a 'pencil-pushing prosecutor', they must've been desperate. He leaned forward and folded his hands together atop the desk, a very different sort of fighting spirit being born inside him. There was a fire the likes of which he'd never known; a fire which had spent the last five months smoldering due to lack of oxygen. “Is this about the Phantom?” he asked, convinced that he already knew the answer. “No,” was the unfortunate response. Lang finally approached the desk and allowed the folder to drop. It hit the wooden surface with a soft thud. His sharp gaze met Simon's head-on and when he spoke, it was in an impatient manner. “The Phantom is not your concern. It should never have been your concern to begin with.” “Agent Lang-” “Interpol has failed spectacularly in the past, but now that we have that mutt on a leash, I can assure you that the matter is ours to deal with as we see fit. No, you had best forget about it and focus your skills on more pressing, more recent problems.” Simon's eyes flicked towards the folder, then back up to Lang's face. “What is this project, then? Why does Interpol have need for my skills?” “Surely, you must have noticed. Over the past decade or two, Los Angeles has become a hodgepodge of extravagant murders, each more contrived than the next. People can howl all they want about this supposed Dark Age of the Law and how it may or may not have ended, but Interpol sees things differently. There is not a single city in the world which hosts this many desperate and innovative criminals. If there really was some sort of dark age, it was born from the killers themselves. Knowing that much, we need to take into account that fixing the court system won’t do a lick of good.” While disagreement was the first thing on Simon's mind, he decided to give the notion due thought. He visualized Geiru Toneido, who had murdered her own father by suffocating him with udon dough only a few weeks ago. That in itself was already a terrible tragedy, but her attempts to deceive everyone around her instead of accepting her own guilt had bordered on ludicrous. No common killer should have gone that far. If criminals were the ones taking advantage of the Dark Age of the Law to get away with their crimes, then criminals were indeed the root of it all. It came down to people who believed they deserved to get away with their crimes, even if the court system would normally say otherwise. “Then... What, exactly? You believe our water supply to be contaminated?” “I don't believe much of anything, Prosecutor Blackquill,” Lang said dryly, shaking his head. “FBI, CIA, Interpol... They're all scrambling to make sense of it. The Behavioral Analysis Unit-” “Behavioral Analysis?” “No need to act so surprised, I'm sure you know damn well what that unit does. Anyway, they believe the only way to get answers is to take a long, hard look at some of the killers we've caught so far. And I'm not talkin' about means, motive and opportunity- those were already established during the conviction. I mean the actual why of the matter. What drove a human being to that point in their life? Childhood, family, mindset... If we can find a pattern, we can solve murder cases a whole lot faster through profiling. Maybe even prevent them from happening in the first place.” Simon released a deep breath through his nose, closing his eyes. “You believe that I ought to be the one to take this long, hard look.” “Again, I don't believe anything. I just do as I'm told.” Lang stepped back from the desk, instead wandering towards the window. “You have a degree in psychology. You have experience with constructing psych profiles. More important than any of that, you have walked the halls of death row yourself.” “You're barking up the wrong tree, Agent Lang.” “I don't think I am. You were virtually one of these killers yourself. They know your name, your reputation. And you know them.” “It is precisely because I know them that I cannot participate in this project,” Simon insisted, his voice taking on a low growl. “I know what it's like to hear the screams of those less lucid than myself. I have been forced to consume that paltry fare the guards claim to be meals, have had to endure the humiliation of sharing a shower with complete strangers. Every day, I recall how it feels to awaken on a hard cot, asking myself whether today would be the day that I die. I am a free man now, Agent Lang, with no intention of returning to that cage willingly.” “No one said you would set foot in death row. The interviews would take place in a specialized visitor's room and the participants of the study may be rewarded for cooperation if you see fit. Consider it an opportunity to pull these poor saps into more pleasant surroundings for a few hours.” “More pleasant surroundings?” Simon snarled, rising to his feet at last to stare Lang down. “Asking them relive their greatest mistake is considered pleasant to you? They already have more than enough time to reflect on what they've done.” “Which means they should be able to answer your questions with ease,” Lang rebuffed. “Listen, I’m not here because I thought I’d give you a fair shot at the job. It definitely wasn’t my idea to send a prosecutor of all people. If it were up to me, one of my most trusted men- or women- would go in there with a list of questions, but these killers don't open up to just anyone. We need to get just the right information to profile them. You fit the bill perfectly, Power of Suggestion and everything, and that's why it’s my job to persuade you to do it. If we don't find out what prompts these people to jump through hoops for killing, you're going to be taking on a lot more cases where the defense will want testimony from clowns and orcas. The Chief Prosecutor agrees, the LAPD agrees, Interpol agrees...” The hawk feather in the corner of Simon's mouth had seen better days, by now. He'd started chewing the tip of it at the start of Lang's tirade and now, fifteen seconds later, the bite marks were irreversible. The proposition made perfect sense, but that didn't mean Simon wanted to do it. Did he even have a choice? Lang didn't seem like the sort to give up easy and if that was how Interpol wished to play, perhaps it could be used to Simon's advantage. He slammed a hand down on his desk to be certain he had Lang's full attention. “I want the Phantom.” “Come again?” “If Interpol demands that I must be the one to interview these killers, then a humble prosecutor such as I is in no place to object. However, I will do a thorough job of it. As the Phantom has claimed at least two victims within our fair city of Los Angeles and went to extremes to cover it up, they have the necessary attributes to fall within the case study.” “I've already told you the Phantom is not your problem.” “If I am to accept this project-” “That's just an excuse and you know it. No one speaks to the Phantom, do you understand? Not even me- and believe me when I say that I would give an arm for the opportunity to exchange words with them. A high-profile liability like that is out of our league.” “Then, we will have to rise to the necessary level, won't we?” Simon grinned, his fingers curling along the desk's surface. “If you wish for me to compile profiles on these killers, then I will do so. However, my one condition is that should these methods be proven successful, Interpol will arrange for an interview with the Phantom. If they do not agree, they'll have to find themselves another former inmate with a psychology degree who excels at drawing the truth from people.” For a few seconds, there was nothing. Then Lang threw his head back and laughed. “All riiight, that's what I like to hear! A passionate predator is a successful one. I'll see what I can do!” “... Good.” “Looking at it from the official point of view, you'd be aiding Interpol as an external consultant and that involves a healthy helping of paperwork. Confidentiality clause and all that. I've got most of the forms here for you to sign.” Lang meandered back over to the desk to indicate the folder. “But more important than the bureaucracy of it all is the more substantial situations. This project requires discretion. We can't be seen as hassling the inmates, or they’ll take measures against us. You need to keep your head down for the most part and play nice with the other kids.” “I understand.” “We can't have you processing your findings in the Prosecutor's Office, and so, you'll have your own little spot in L.A.'s Interpol headquarters. Report there tomorrow morning and they'll show you where to go. Now, as for the matter of your partner-” “My partner?” “You can't very well sit across from a convicted killer by yourself.” “I fail to see why not. I interact with killers before their conviction on a daily basis. That is part of my job as a pencil pusher.” “It's not a question of your grit, it's a question of what Interpol would say if they knew we weren't taking proper precautions. Needless to say, we got in touch with Athena Cykes-” “You did what?!” “Will you stop barking across my words?” Lang snapped at him. “Athena Cykes has partnered with you before and despite her age, she's supposed to be the best when it comes to processing emotional responses. You can draw out all the answers you want with the Power of Suggestion, but we need to know the feelings hiding within those words and that's where her special ability comes in.” “You refuse to let me meet with killers by myself, yet you claim it's wise to have a 19 year-old girl by my side?” “That 19 year-old girl has more of a reputation than you give her credit for. She's a feisty young pup, too. Ready to jump into the action.” “You've already spoken with her?” “She's already agreed.” “Then I refuse.” “Blackquill-” “Prosecutor Blackquill. And I will not allow that girl anywhere near convicted butchers.” Lang grit his jaw, his nostrils flaring. Then he threw a glance down at his watch and shrugged his irritation off. “Fine then. Have at it by yourself, see where it gets you.” ------- Date: June 5th 2028 Time: 2:05 PM Location: Interview Room. This interview was headed nowhere at the most rigid of paces. Simon would have dismissed further attempts as a waste of his time, were it not for Vasquez's MO. She had been convicted on charges of manslaughter out of self-defense, and if indeed it had been self-defense, why had she not outright admitted to that from the start? Why target Will Powers? Had it been out of a grudge, or had she taken advantage of an opportunity regardless of who she trampled under her heel? In order to construct a proper psychological profile, he would need far more answers than Vasquez was willing to provide. The door slammed open quite suddenly and in walked the one person Simon hadn't wanted to see here. There was not a single shred of intimidation to be found in her, as if she'd walked into a grocery store as opposed to a prison. She pulled up a chair, smiling as brightly as ever, and dropped herself down on it. “Buen día! Sorry I'm late! The subway was delayed!” she proclaimed. A pause, then she leaned in closer to the recording device. “This is Athena Cykes, by the way. In case that's needed for documentation.” While Vasquez didn't turn her head, Simon could see that her eyes had moved towards the newcomer. “What are you doing here?” he asked Athena, as he thought he'd made himself quite clear towards Lang. “I'm here to help with the interview, of course! Looks like you don't have any notes yet... That's great, I was worried I might've missed something important! You've already done the explanation and the statement thing, right?” Simon managed to stop himself from grumbling and hit a button to pause the recording. This next bit didn't need to be saved for posterity: “I told Agent Lang that I would handle the matter by myself.” “Right. And Agent Lang told me that you told him that,” Athena replied cheerfully. She took out a small, colorful notebook even as she spoke. “But he also said that you're my peer, not my boss, so if I wanted to take the job you couldn't stop me.” Once again, Simon had to fight a hard battle to swallow his next words. His fierce gaze moved from Athena to Vasquez, only to note that the subject of their study was no longer looking bored. A hint of a smile had come to being on her face. Was she mocking him? Athena hit the button on the recorder again, then turned her attention to Vasquez. “It's an honor to meet you, ma'am! I have to say, I love your work. Samurai Summer, Dynamite Samurai... The original Steel Samurai is great too, of course, but there's something about those old movies that just can't be replicated.” “... You saw Dynamite Samurai? A young girl like you?” Vasquez sounded almost suspicious of the claim and Athena must've caught onto that in a heartbeat. “I did! I must've seen it ten times! When I was growing up in Europe, those old movies would rerun really often in a whole bunch of different languages. Did you know that in the German version, they changed Uncle Samuel to Aunt Sammy?” “... Because Samuel was so effeminate and close to Hiroshi, it raised questions for some.” “Right! I always thought that was weird. But you were the producer, so I've gotta know. Do you think that the change messed with your artistic vision?” “The decision was not mine to make. A producer has no influence over localization. Men felt threatened by such progressive notions and so, they did as they pleased.” Athena started scribbling down a few notes. Simon attempted to read them, only to find himself unable to decipher her handwriting. Hieroglyphs would've been preferable at this point. “That must've struck you as very unfair,” Athena surmised. Though she stopped writing, her pen remained pressed against the paper. “I'm sorry, I didn't have time to read through the profile Interpol gave us, so I'll have to ask a few obvious questions. Will that be all right?” Vasquez glanced towards Athena, only for a second or so. “... Go on.” “What was your family life like, growing up? Were your parents happily married? Any siblings? Things like that.” “My parents were just fine. I had no problems with either of them. They had no problems with each other.” Vasquez paused and her arms, crossed over her chest as they were, strained visibly. “I have two older brothers.” “Really? I don't have any siblings myself, but I hear that brothers can be a pain sometimes.” “They were exceptional pains.” “So you didn't get along with them, huh? Why not?” “They were bullies. They would destroy my things and walk away without so much as a lecture.” Athena was taking notes again, and Simon found himself doing the same. It was a relief that they were finally getting some answers, but at the same time, he was frustrated. Why was it that Vasquez would respond to Athena, but not to him? Who was the master of the Power of Suggestion, if not him? … Well, he supposed the remainder of the interview would solidify just why Vasquez was so difficult to work with. “What about your family later in life? Did you ever get married?” “I was married four times.” “Four times?!” Athena reached for the folder in front of Simon and flipped through the papers. “But it says here you were only 34 years old when you were arrested.” “No one said they were long marriages.” “What happened? Did you marry them too soon, or were you just fast to settle on divorce?” Vasquez reached for Athena's pen and pulled it from her grasp. Simon reflexively prepared himself to interfere, should there be a need, but violence was not at all Vasquez's goal. She held the pen between her index and middle finger, twirling it up and down even as she regarded Athena with a cold stare. “I was naive. I learned the hard way that men consider themselves stronger than us. The only way to survive is to be stronger than them.” “What do you mean? Did any of your husbands ever hurt you?” “Not with their fists. It was their words, their actions behind my back... My first husband found himself a new girlfriend only three months into our marriage. My second husband squandered our money. The third husband thought I should give up on my career and instead become a mother. My fourth husband was just like the first. What a joke.” “You didn't think to talk these problems through with them before slamming down the divorce papers?” Simon asked. Vasquez ignored him, instead raising the back of the pen to her mouth as if it were a cigarette. “Ah... What my partner is trying to ask is whether you communicated your concerns with them,” Athena said, and Simon felt his nose crinkle at the political wording of it all. “They would not listen,” was the ambiguous response. “Hmm... But you found other men who would listen to you, right? Even if you didn't marry them?” “Are you referring to my friends in the mafia? Or perhaps that spineless director?” “Either, really. If they listened, they listened.” “My mafia friends in particular were very good to me. They recognized my strength. As for Manella, he loved to play the part of my doormat. Masochist that he was, he was inspired by my treatment of him. I didn't even need to lift a finger. A good scolding already served as enough intimidation. One doesn't often meet a man who makes his presence worthwhile simply by being yelled at. His resulting scripts brought in good money. Still, I would not say any one of those men listened. They only did as they were told.” Athena flipped to the next paper in the folder, describing in full detail the crime Vasquez was accused of. Most prominent was a photograph, showing a man impaled on a fence while both Vasquez and another man watched in horror. “What about Jack Hammer? Did he listen to you after you made that accident with Manuel disappear?” “He had to. That does not mean he wanted to. His revenge proves that.” “Right, right... You blackmailed him and-” “Not blackmail. I reminded him of his place,” Vasquez said quite sharply. “Sorry. You kept him in his place and after five years of that, he decided he'd had enough. He came to you in disguise and tried to kill you, so you defended yourself. Or at least... That's what the report says. Could you say in your own words what happened?” “My own words... They are the same. I agree with that statement.” Before Simon could process it was happening, Athena had snatched the pen from his hand. She used it to take a few more notes. When she continued with her questions, her voice was more subdued. “Do you regret how things ended?” “I am in prison. So yes. I regret it.” “But... What about Jack Hammer's life? Do you regret ending it?” “Not at all. Jack Hammer was a murderer who should have been executed for Manuel's death. The way I kept him in line for those five years was too mild a punishment. Perhaps he came to me that day because he knew that as well. Perhaps he wished to die for his crime.” Athena exchanged a glance with Simon, who could give her no proper response. She shook her head, looking frustrated. Perhaps she could see something- or hear something that he could not. Was there a hidden meaning in Vasquez's words? Simon didn't need to ponder the matter for too long, as Athena was the one to bring that truth into the light. “Ms. Vasquez...” she began, her knuckles whitening around the pen. “The way you keep talking about men, you act as if they're all beneath you. You're filled with anger towards them. But whenever you talk about Manuel, your heart betrays grief. You must've taken his death especially harshly. Were you in love with him?” At last, some wrinkles came into being on Vasquez's face, similar to the cracks which formed in the casing of Athena's pen. “... Had Manuel been my fourth husband as opposed to the wretch I did marry, it would have lasted.” And there it was. The grandest portion of the why they'd been searching for. Simon was at a loss for words, though it didn't matter. Just as Athena had led the conversation, she brought it to its proper conclusion. “Thank you for your honesty, Ms. Vasquez. It must have been painful for you to recall such things. I have one more question for you, if you don't mind.” “One more, then.” “If you believed that Mr. Hammer's death was justified and he would have killed you, had you not defended yourself... Why didn't you admit that to the police? Why go to such lengths to frame Mr. Powers?” Vasquez brought the broken pen to her lips again, not realizing that the blue ink was staining her lips. She looked thoughtful, the most minute of frowns tugging at her eyebrows. “Is that not obvious? It is because I didn't want to go to prison.” To Be Continued

Black Widow
This is my first fanfic so please give me any advice you can and I am open if you catch any grammar errors.
This is about the city of Gatlon under the Renegades’ control and takes place one day after chapter 26 of Archenemies. Aubrey is the fourteen-year-old girl on the news who died of a drug overdose from drugs that Hawthorn had stolen. This is her family:
Name - Relationship, Gender, Sexuality, Zodiac, Summary of Personality, Age, Status
Eliza Roosevelt - Mother, 45, Deceased
Joseph Roosevelt - Father, 58, Alive
Abigail Roosevelt - Sister, Female, Straight, Gemini, Logical and Cold, 24, Alive
Emily Caldwell - Brother’s Girlfriend, Female, Bisexual, Pisces, Shy, 24, Alive
Amber Roosevelt - Sister, Female, Lesbian, Libra, Popular and Energetic, 23, Alive
Adam Roosevelt - Brother, Male, Straight, Leo, Literal, 22, Alive
Alexa Roosevelt - Sister, Female, Asexual, Capricorn, 18, Alive
Addison Roosevelt - Sister, Female, Lesbian, Capricorn, Mom Friend, 18, Alive
Shannon Carter - Sister’s Girlfriend, Female, Pansexual, Taurus, Caring, 17, Alive
August Roosevelt - Brother, Transgender Male, Straight, Cancer, Emotional, 16, Alive
Alexander “Alex” Carter - Sister’s Girlfriend’s son, Male, Gemini, 3, Alive
Addison found herself comforting a sobbing August for the third night in a row. She had gone sleepless so she could hold him whenever he shot up from his latest nightmare. At least it was better than him drinking his problems away like he usually did. Slowly but surely, she felt him go limp in her arms, muttering, "Only fourteen years." Their sister had recently overdosed and died. She had only been 14, but she already had anxiety. Aubrey had said that the drugs calmed her nerves, but they all knew how reckless they would make her. They had all tried to talk to her at various times, but they could never convince her to stop.
Addison found herself deep in thought as she walked to Amber's room. Addison was the only one who could see her devastation through the mask she wore. "I'm going out, can you watch August for me?" she asked.
Where are you going?" Amber growled in response, her eyes swollen. They had never been close and that showed in the way they talked to each other.
"Thanks," Addison found herself walking away before she answered. You know where I'm going.
She walked to the garage behind the house, letting the overgrown grass scratch her legs. She'd have to put that chore next on her list, seeing as no one else was getting anything done in the near future.
She let the smell of rust and electricity engulf her as she entered her workshop. Their workshop. Five weeks ago, she had come up with the idea to create a mech suit that could fit all seven of her siblings, plus herself. It was designed to be in the shape of a spider so each one of them could fit in one leg. Unfortunately, plans had changed in the last three days after Aubrey's death. She had already decided that her girlfriend Shannon would take her place designing it with Adam. It was an easy job she could do while she watched Alex, her son. She sat at her computer in the corner and had to hit it for it to spark to life. Shannon, with her power to control electricity, was the main reason it was still running.
"Couldn't sleep?" Adam's voice startled her and she nearly fell back in her chair.
"Not when I share a room with August," she responded.
"How's he holding up? He seems to be taking it harder than everyone else."
"Not well at all." She chuckled grimly. "He still can't stop blaming himself instead of the Renegades."
"Blame the Renegades? How is it their fault?"
Addison turned in her chair to face him. "They cared more about finding the Sentinel than catching Hawthorn. They cared more about resupplying the hospitals than getting the drugs off our streets."
"They don't give a fuck about any part of society that doesn't include a possible recruit. The prodigies are all they have eyes for, " Abigail finished Addison's thought for her as she walked in.
"I guess that makes sense." Adam caved in.
"Once this beauty is done, we can do their job for them. They were never cut out to take on the government of Gatlon or 'save lives'," Abigail continued as she started screwing some bolts into the seventh leg.
The room went silent. Addison looked over her shoulder as she finished her half of the programming. Adam was lying on his back with a pen in his mouth and drawing with a pencil in his sketchbook. Addison suspected he wasn't necessarily drawing designs for the spider. Abigail was already covered in grease as she moved onto the final leg of the spider. Addison sighed as she moved onto Emily's half of the programming. Emily, August, Alexa, and Amber had barely worked on the spider since Aubrey's death. Addison barely noticed as Emily sat next to her, in front of her own computer.
"What, I haven't seen much of you in the last few days and I don't even get a hello?" Adam picked Emily up from her chair in a hug as she started to blush.
"H-hi?"
"How have you been holding up?"
A year started to fall down her cheek and he wiped it away. He hugged her harder. They had only been together for two years now, but it felt like forever. She was as much a part of their family as any of her siblings. Milly smiled as he put her down and reached up and kissed him. Addison suddenly felt like she was intruding on a private moment, so she started walking over to Abigail.
"How's this going?"
Abigail hit the leg she was working on. "Seems to be holding up. I'm working on the finishing touches, but without August and Alexa's help, it's going slow. Are you done with the programming or did the lovebirds scare you off?"
"A little bit of both. Milly's almost done with her portion, too. Can I help?"
Abigail handed her a screwdriver and told her to go ahead.

Questions 11, 12, 22, 23, 31, 37. All directed at Jahaan.
Hey Kethsi! Thanks for the ask :D It’s nice to expand on Jahaan a lil but more here with some unconventional questions. Also I am gonna ramble to no end here, apologies in advance!
Question 11: Intellectual pursuits?
While he’s never been a brains before brawn guy, and didn’t exactly stick around for many of his classes as a child, Jahaan harbours a deep desire to understand the gods and religions of this world in an attempt to find his place among them. He kinda keeps things like that to himself, but would try and get his hands on different ‘bibles’ and philosophy books for some of the gods. With his role as the WG, he’s finally able to meet followers (and the gods themselves) from the more out of the way religions, like Seren, Zaros and Armadyl - finding out about those guys was kinda hard stuck in the Saradominist/Guthixian/desert kingdoms of Gielinor
Question 12: Favorite book genre?
Jahaan is partial to a good ghost story ^_^ Don’t get me wrong, things like that creep him tf out, but the thrill it gives him keeps him wanting more :D He’d frequently trade them around with his fellow soldiers at the Imperial Guard. Bonus: he cannot STAND romance novels - has zero time for that fluffy nonsense. Even on the dreariest of days, he’s rather count the threads in his mattress than pick out a love story
Question 22: Given a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and nothing to do, what would happen?
He’d make an origami swan :) An eastern traveller taught him how to when he was a young kid, he’d teach Jahaan something new every time he came to port, but the only one Jahaan remembers how to do is a swan :) Makes up for the fact he can’t draw for shit xD
Question 23: How organized are they? How does this organization/disorganization manifest in their everyday life?
He kept his bunk at the Imperial Guard fairly neat and tidy, but Jahaan doesn’t really have enough possessions to be disorganised. Everything he owns is on his back, and he travels around too much to clutter up a house. In regards to organising his ‘life’ as such, Jahaan is a ‘have sword’ and ‘will travel’ kinda guy - he lives in the disorganisation, and thrives in it xD Staying in one place for too long would eventually drive him crazy. The Imperial Guard was long enough
Question 31: Most prized possession?
The runite dagger Doric gave to him on his way out of Burthorpe. It helped fell many a foe :) There’s an amulet he was given by his uncle as a child, too, that he keeps more out of guilt than sentimental reasons. He doesn’t know how he’d feel if he lost it, and doesn’t let such thoughts clutter his mind
Questions 37: Are they more analytical or more emotional in their decision-making?
Unfortunately, Jahaan is quite emotional in his decision making, and often lets his emotions (namely his anger) get the better of him in a tense situation. He wishes so much he could take a step back, think things through and be more analytical - as would be fitting of the World Guardian - but it’s simply not in his nature
This was fun! :D I’m gonna sort out my blog and try and get a bio done :) If anyone else wants to find out more about my RS muse, hmu :D

All odd numbers of the cute asks
Oh goodness, this is gonna be a long one but here we go!!
1. Who was the last person you held hands with? Probably one of my roommates, but not in like a walking-talking sense! It was more like she came into my room and took my hand lol
3. Who are you looking forward to seeing? A bunch of people, actually! I’m looking forward to seeing my best friend when she sleeps over this week, and I’m looking forward to seeing my mom and other best friend when I go back home in three months.
5. If you were drunk, would the person you like take care of you? Without question, although I think I’d be okay! I don’t usually get drunk, and I’m generally the friend who’s taking care of people lol. They’d probably be laughing at my ridiculousness a lot.
7. Do you think you’ll be in a relationship two months from now? I mean, I don’t know….. Would I like to be? Ideally, but I’m also in the middle of classes and I don’t really know how that’d work out practically.
9. Does talking about sex make you uncomfortable? Nope~ I’m really open about those kinds of things tbh.
11. What does the most recent text that you sent say? Let me go find it…. “Ohhh okay” (Sorry, I know it’s pretty unexciting)
13. Do you like it when people play with your hair? Yes yes yes yes yessssss it is the number one thing to do that calms me right down (besides hugs).
15. What good thing happened this summer? This past summer, I spent most of my time in camp and with friends, and that was super fun. I got really close with people that I didn’t expect to! Also, I moved to Israel!
17. Do you think there is life on other planets? Define life. Bacteria and other protozoic life forms, definitely. I don’t know if I totally buy into the idea of intelligent life forms on other planets and aliens like the Hollywood movies show.
19. Do you like bubble baths? I love them, but I don’t take them very often. Lush is one of my favorite stores, I love bath time products.
21. What are your bad habits? I bite my nails sometimes, but I’m trying to get over that and I’m managing it really well! I’m also a tapper, and I tend to grind my teeth/hum when I’m not paying attention. I also chew gum a lot and bite the little clip things off of mechanical pencils…..
23. Do you have trust issues? Some, yeah. Depends on with who and regarding what, though. I stopped journaling for a long while because of trust issues, but I’m super open with people and I consider everyone trustworthy until proven otherwise, in most cases!
25. What part of your body are you most uncomfortable with? My stomach. I hate it.
27. Do you wish your skin was lighter or darker? I wish I was more tan, but otherwise not really!
29. Have any of your ex’s told you they regret breaking up? Yeah.
31. Is your hair long enough for a ponytail? I refuse to cut my hair so short that it would not be. So yes, absolutely.
33. Spell your name with your chin. eliusahewv casYes, that is definitely my name. Not too far off tho!
35. Would you rather live without TV or music? TV hands down. I depend on music like you wouldn’t believe.
37. What do you say during awkward silences? Usually nothing tbh…. I’m not really the one to break them. But I usually try and do an “anyway” segway or something like that.
39. What are your favorite stores to shop in? Lush, Bath and Body Works, Barnes and Nobles, Target, Macy’s, Bloomingdales.
41. Do you believe everyone deserves a second chance? Yes, but a limited one. Your second chance with me is usually your last, and if you hurt me again I drop you entirely. I try to keep that my policy, but there are definitely exceptions.
43. Do you smile at strangers? Absolutely. I smiled at a bunch today!
45. What makes you get out of bed in the morning? Talking to my friends, and my alarm clock. Also, eventually I just get fed up with my own laziness too, so there’s that.
47. Have you ever been high? No, and I don’t plan on it.
49. Have you done anything recently that you hope nobody finds out? Yes, and I really hope that they don’t. It was nothing bad, before you get any ideas! It’s just…. Something personal, if that makes sense?
51. Ever wished you were someone else? Yes, and I still do at times. That’s something I’m trying to work on.
53. Favorite makeup brand? The only brand name things of makeup I have come from Bobbi Brown, I think, so maybe I’ll default to them? Or Mac?

61. Ever been suspended/expelled? For what? Oh God no. I think I would die.
63. Ever been in love? This is a complicated question. I’ve had a lot of strong feelings for people before, but I think there’s maybe one person I would say that I’ve been in love with. We broke things off a while ago, and we’re good friends now, but I still have a lot of feelings for her.
65. Are you hungry right now? I’m so hungry tbh I’m waiting for my roommate to get out of the shower so that we can go pick up sushi.
67. Facebook or Twitter? Facebook, but simply because I don’t use my Twitter like ever.
69. Are you watching TV right now? Nope! I’m looking between this answer and the question list lol
71. Craving something? What? Sushi omg I want it so bad I’m so hungry
73. Do you sleep with stuffed animals? I do, actually! I have a teddy bear that my mom gave me when I last was home, and it helps me sleep at night when I’m homesick or in a bad place. I’m a very touchy-huggy person so to me it’s a big help.
75. Favorite animal? Any form of feline. I love cats.
77. Chocolate or vanilla? Chocolate all the way.
79. What color shirt are you wearing? Black, actually! It’s got a pretty blue and white pattern/design thing too!

87. First person you talked to today? It was either @justanotherurl-not or @mizuritamanami but I don’t know for certain.
89. Name a person you hate? A particular girl from high school might fit this description. For her privacy, I’ll just call her Sam.
91. Is there anyone you want to punch in the face right now? At this exact moment, no.
93. How many sweatpants do you have? So many pairs omg. My high school gave them out religiously.
95. Last movie you watched? The Greatest Showman (WHICH EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH IT’S SO GOOD)
97. Favorite actor? Ummm not sure. That’s a very good question. Probably someone like Leonardo DiCaprio, or Chris Evans maybe?
99. Have any pets? No, unfortunately, but I plan on getting a cat sometime soon!
101. Do you type fast? Yeah, and I can more or less touch type now! I’ve memorized my laptop keyboard lol thanks Mavis Beacon!
103. Can you spell well? Usually I’m very good with spelling. My mom likes to joke that it’s because I read the dictionary when I was younger (which I did, so maybe she has a point).
105. Ever been to a bonfire party? The only one that might qualify I’m not going to count, so nope! Maybe someday!
107. Have you ever been on a horse? Yes, and I love horseback riding so much. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t gone- it’s so relaxing and I had the best time doing it.
109. Is something irritating you right now? Someone, but yes. It’s not their fault, though, so I probably won’t say anything to them.
111. Do you have trust issues? I think this was already a question on this ask….?
113. What was your childhood nickname? It’s not really shorter than my name, but my mom used to call me her “princess ballerina.”

117. Do you like chicken noodle soup? Who doesn’t?
119. Favorite book? Right now, probably The Somnabulist by Jonathan Bates, but I love almost every book I’ve read. The Eragon series is also one of my favorites, and I love classical literature, like A Tale of Two Cities and The Sun Also Rises.
121. Are you mean? I can be, if I want to or have to be. But I hate it, so I try very hard to steer clear.
123. Can you keep white shoes clean? I can’t keep any shoes clean.
125. Do you believe in true love? Yes, but I believe that it’s usually something that grows with time and isn’t just magically found.
127. What makes you happy? Music, good food, friends, a good book, a good movie, rewatching old anime series that I haven’t seen in a while, etc. Flowers, cats, pretty things. I’m a girl of simple pleasures.
129. What’s your zodiac sign? Taurus! (April 28th is my birthday!)

10 Make-up Essentials for your everyday makeup kit Part 1
Most women maintain 2 different make-up kits. One that we carry everyday for work, leisure etc. and another bigger kit that we keep at home to prepare for special occasions like going out on parties or attending formal events.
Tumblr media
In this post, let’s talk about what make-up “must-haves” women should carry in their everyday make-up kit + recommendation on good brands that are both affordable and quality...
1. BB Cream or Foundation
This basic make-up essential helps hide imperfection, uneven skin tone and give women a flawless looking face. It also aids in a smoother application of other products like blush, concealer etc.
Depending on your job and lifestyle, you can either carry a simple BB Cream or get more coverage with a good foundation especially if your job involves more people-facing.
I don’t use BB Creams and Foundation a lot but I carry both with me because you never know when situation demands and yes... you can use both at the same time :)
My Recommendation:
Tumblr media
Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream with SPF 42 - I really love this BB Cream because it’s light-weight and it’s great on my skin. It gives me a dewy finish and I love that it works as a moisturizer and sun protection at the same time. I use #23 which is perfect for my skin tone and I can easily apply it on my face even without a brush or a blender.
Tumblr media
L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Protection Foundation -  This one has good coverage and lasting power especially if you want a semi-matte finish. I can never go wrong with L’Oreal. It’s my go-to drugstore brand. The packaging is also a perfect fit if you carry a small to medium size makeup kit. I use #104 Golden Beige.
2. Concealer
A concealer works like a foundation but has thicker consistency to help mask dark circles, age spots, large pores etc.
Since I don’t wear Foundation everyday, concealer is a must-have for me as it is the only make-up product that helps lighten my dark circles. If you are using both Foundation and Concealer, remember to apply foundation first before the concealer unless you are using a powder foundation, then liquid/cream concealer goes first.
My Recommendation:
Tumblr media
The Saem Cover Perfection Tip Concealer - This is my everyday concealer. It’s light-weight and does the job perfectly in covering my dark circles. A little goes a long way with this product and offers SPF 28 perfect for morning errands.
Tumblr media
Revlon Photoready Concealer - This is a very creamy and blendable concealer. I use this under my brows to emphasize my brow shape because it has a highlighting effect. The only problem I have with this concealer is that whenever I use it under my eyes, after some time I feel like it cakes on me.
Tumblr media
Naturactor Cover Face Concealer - I have been using this product for years as it blends very naturally on my skin and is a very good product to cover blemishes. If I want a light-weight make up when attending occasions, I use this product as my foundation as well.
3. Pressed Powder
Pressed Powder is a great makeup item for oil-control and for setting liquid foundations and concealers. It helps leave a more natural finish and prevents liquid make-up from melting on your skin.
My Recommendation:
Tumblr media
Naturactor Pressed Powder - I seriously believe this is the best pressed powder for me. It gives me a flawless finish that works well with minimal application. I also love how it smells on my face.
4. Mascara
I’ve mentioned in my previous posts before that I don’t wear mascara everyday but on some occasion that I do, it gives a strike of elegance in a woman’s look. Mascaras are great as it makes your eyes pop giving a more fresh and active look.
My Recommendation:
Tumblr media
L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise - This is a great mascara as it doesn’t smudge. Mascaras usually transfer to your under eye skin after some time but this mascara doesn’t coz of it’s great waterproof formula. I also love how it makes my lashes look thicker and longer and it’s not messy to remove at the end of the day.
5. Eyebrow Pencil or Eyebrow Mascara
For those of you who are gifted of a nicely shaped, thick eyebrows... good for you. I unfortunately made the mistake in my younger years of tweezing/shaving my eyebrows so it looked more defined. I ended up having an almost bald brows. Back then, I thought the thinner the better but I realized otherwise. So now, an eyebrow pencil is my bestfriend to help shape my brows.
One thing I’ve noticed is that of all the facial features we have, a change on the eyebrow brings about the most significant change on a woman’s look than any other facial feature. So keeping it neat and defined will bring out the beautiful you.
My Recommendation:
Tumblr media
The Faceshop Designing Eyebrow Pencil (in Light Brown)- I’ve tried several eyebrow pencils before but this one gave me the precision and natural consistency that I like. It’s very pigmented so make sure you apply it with feather-strokes and finish it off with the brush of spooly for a more natural look.
Check-out my next post for Part 2 of the 5 remaining make-up essentials for everyday make-up kit and great recommendations that are of excellent quality yet budget-friendly.

24 Coincidences That Couldn't Possibly Have Happened
Have you ever had anything like these moments happen? One of those wildly unlikely, “shouldn’t happen but it does” moments? Bet you didn’t have a camera handy. Which is unfortunate, because it can really make for a cool image. Fortunately, all these folks did.
1. His race number matched the number on his shirt, his hometown zip code, and the time he took to run the race.
Can he play those numbers in the lottery?
Reddit | Sneaky-Goat
2. This person caught his own wallet in a fishing net after dropping it in a lake 20 years earlier.
Which I suppose is a good reason to keep fishing the same spot.
Reddit | -F1ngo
3. As a kid, this guy sat in the cockpit of an OH58 Kiowa helicopter and decided he wanted to be a pilot.
Twenty years later he dug up the old picture and realized he had actually been flying the very same helicopter he had posed for that picture in.
Imgur | RockYourOwnium
4. Six different guests — not bridesmaids — showed up to this wedding wearing the same dress.
Maybe the odds of such a coincidence go down if it was on clearance one week?
Facebook | Debbie Speranza
5. This butterfly landed on a picture of itself.
Maybe the butterfly fluttering by was looking for a familiar face before landing? Or familiar colors and spot patterns on wings, anyway.
Reddit | officialbearbear
6. You don’t get closer calls after a storm than this!
Not even a scratch, not the slightest dent on that car. And it would be hard to fit more than a pencil in that gap!
Reddit | superhero112
7. It’s almost like this tree was designed to not hit the car on its way down.
Still, I’m seeing some great arguments for never parking on the street again, if possible.
Reddit | pincheloca
8. These three puppies were born with sequenced spots on their backs.
No word if that was their actual birth order. “She gave birth in the middle of the night, and when we found out, all 3 were already out,” the person said.
Reddit | chaos_ej
9. The mountains on the back of this truck line up perfectly with the real mountains in the background.
Apparently it took a few tries, but the poster insists there’s no Photoshop trickery here.
Reddit | tomboski
10. A fly found out the hard way why you don’t get too close to a cactus.
It’s kinda crazy to see the cactus’ spikes in action like this, isn’t it?
Imgur | theslainman
11. You can count on your soda to explode if you leave it in the freezer, but not to find the explosion frozen, too.
That’s a seriously cool swirl! Nice pic!
Imgur | paradockz
12. While traveling through Greece, an Australian guy found half an Australian debit card that had the same numbers as his, including the expiration date, and his first name.
Just imagine the cold sweat you’d break out in, and then the sigh of relief when you find your own debit card intact.
Reddit | mortoson
13. Two Toyotas, same color, parked right next to each other, with sequential license plates.
Really, the only difference is one number and the one on the right has a roof rack. Weird!
Reddit | warshadow
14. The door on the left tells you what happened to the door on the right.
Well, there’s probably a longer story to what happened, but you have to admire a succinct sign.
Reddit | ParadiseSquared
15. Six eggs cracked into a pan, and all of them had double yolks.
Now that’s a rare and hearty breakfast! Now, if only you could find a packaging error that gives you double hash browns.
Imgur | williamfollett
16. Capturing the moment a balloon gets too much air and bursts.
Amazing, look at that thing just shred. I always thought it would have one or two rupture points, but that balloon is flying apart.
Reddit | mh00259
17. This would still be pretty good if it was a more flattering picture of Donkey, but now it’s perfect.
I’m not sure if that’s really supposed to be our takeaway from Shrek, but the Fates seem to confirm it.
Reddit |  seanmac92
18. Wow, let’s just say I really hope this one is actually a coincidence.
Whatever, I don’t think we have to worry about this. Honestly, who uses a word search to leak sensitive information?
Reddit
19. I guess this is only a coincidence if the driver doesn’t work here.
Otherwise, we’re just looking at somebody who has a really good sense of humor about what they do. Either way, I’m glad it exists.
Reddit | cricketistic
20. Yup, four white vans just happened to line up this perfectly.
Am I the only one who kind of wishes that Mustang wasn’t there to break the streak? Five is a much more satisfying number than four.
Reddit | VakkudaTribe
21. Oops, it looks like something went wrong and this kid in the Darth Vader shirt was glitched away from his legs.
It’s almost like they were cut off…just like Anakin Skywalker’s right before he became Darth Vader. Spooky.
Reddit | gatting1889
22. I’m not sure what this sign was pointing at before, but its current job is obviously much more important.
Sure, that rainbow is probably a lot more than 500 feet above the sign, but let’s just let this happen.
Reddit | iveiscoo
23. They can advertise whatever they want on this bus, but it obviously has other plans.
From the day they slapped that license plate on it, any company besides KFC started facing an uphill battle here.
Reddit | Vio0204
24. I’m suddenly very glad that I don’t live in a world where Eminem never wrote that “mom’s spaghetti” line.
It’s already brought us so much joy, but it’s heartwarming to see him fulfill his destiny like that.

Crop Sweaters
A rainy day won’t stop me from taking pictures.
TOSAVE Crop Sweater || Wet Seal Pants (SIMILAR HERE) || 599fashion VEST || Primark Shoes (SIMILAR HERE)
Sure, I’m a little crazy for taking pictures in the rain, but that’s okay. The weather here in Boston won’t stop me from taking pictures and going on adventures.
My crop top is from TOSAVE. You’ve probably seen my previous post about their company. If not, TOSAVE is an online e-commerce company that offers so many different categories at such a reasonable price. Some categories include clothing, makeup, electronics, video games, etc. All of their prices are so affordable and you can literally find anything you need on this website.
My crop top is a sweater! It’s so fuzzy, fluffy and warm. It surprisingly kept me warm in the rainy weather in Boston. I know a lot of people think crop sweaters are weird, but I personally like them! I have a couple so when I saw this cropped sweater online, I HAD to get it! The sweater is definitely fuzzy but it’s soft. It’s stretchy and it’s also a turtleneck. It was windy, raining and in the 40s this day, and surprisingly, this sweater did keep me warm. The turtleneck kept me warm and it was pretty stretchy. I didn’t have a problem with putting the sweater on. Sometimes, I get nervous putting on a turtleneck shirt because I think the neck won’t fit, but this sweater was stretchy and it was no problem for me! Of course, I was still a little chilly but for the most part, this sweater kept me warm! The length of the sleeves was great. It wasn’t too long or too short. It went right up to my wrists and was an appropriate length. The quality of the shirt was great, too! I adore it. At first, I thought the sweater might be itchy because of the fuzziness, but it wasn’t at all. It was super comfortable, stretchy and warm. I adore this crop sweater and totally recommend this.
Pants are from Wet Seal. I wear these pants all the time. You can see it in THIS POST. It’s stretchy, soft and great quality. They are mid-rise pants because they’re comfortable. They’re known as “moleton pants” or “stretchy pencil pants.” I paired the black crop sweater with these gray pants because I didn’t want the outfit to be black on black. I thought gray was a perfect neutral color to match with this crop sweater and I adore how the outcome of the outfit turned out! Black and gray are such a great color combination. SIMILAR HERE.
My vest is my favorite part of this outfit. I bought this from 599fashion. I love the color. Army green is such a great color! And army green with black and gray is such a great color combination. I never really wear vests but I decided to branch into them and try them! This vest is super soft and fuzzy! I love how soft is feels. The material is amazing and it’s super comfortable. And I love the length of this vest. Sure, it may be “too long” but I adore the length. I think it’s perfect. This vest can also look good with a crop top and skirt! I totally recommend this vest. It’s cute and it’s pretty thick. It kept me somewhat warm in the rain and cold. The quality is amazing for the price and it’s just different for my fashion sense, so I’m glad I bought this vest and branched into trying vests.
My shoes are from Primark. I have a navy blue version IN THIS POST. They’re pretty much tennis shoes or “fake vans.” But I adore them and I think these shoes make the outfit complete! SIMILAR HERE.
I do recommend tosave.com just because it is so inexpensive, and honestly, it’s somewhat like eBay, because you can find literally anything and everything on it. However, I will say that it is an online store FROM CHINA. Something similar to aliexpress or any Chinese wholesale company. I was a little skeptical at first but the communication with the company was amazing. They answered me in a timely manner and answered all of my questions.
I know what you’re thinking – shopping from China is a hit or miss. YES, IT IS. Same when I buy items from China on ebay or Aliexpress or any other Chinese website. The prices are unbeatable, though. They’re so inexpensive and you literally just can’t say no to the price, which is why I continue to to shop from Chinese websites. Yes, all items are hit or miss, but I think it’s worth taking the risks. And thankfully, I didn’t have that “miss” problem with these two items. I genuinely love these jogger pants and sheer crop top, and didn’t necessarily have a problem with them. I thought the quality was decent and definitely didn't have a problem with them. Sure, it's not top notch quality but the quality wasn't bad either. It was definitely a hit for me, so I do recommend taking that risk with TOSAVE.
However, shipping time may take long, depending on where you are from. I’m from Boston and these products, I believe, were either shipped on March 23 or early April. And I didn’t receive them until the first week of May. I somewhat forgot about the package until I came home and saw it on my doorstep. So if you’re impatient and need your clothing right away, then this website may not be for you. But if you’re patient or easily forget your packages and like being surprised with one when you come home, then I do recommend this site! Unfortunately, they do not offer a tracking number so you WILL have to be patient, but their customer service rep reassured me that it was on the way and even screenshot proof that they shipped it out. A++ for customer service.
And also, make sure to READ YOUR SIZE DESCRIPTION. Asian sizing can be a lot smaller than American sizing (or whichever country you’re from) so double check the sizing charts. I typically wear XS-S so I decided to get a small in these products and I didn’t have a problem with them. It fit me perfectly. So if you’re unsure what sizes to get, double check the sizing charts and maybe order a size bigger, just in case!
I definitely recommend looking into TOSAVE.COM. It doesn't hurt to check the site out and it doesn't hurt to take a risk and buy something. You never know - you might love the product and have a great experience. I totally recommend it.
SEE MY PREVIOUS OUTFIT FROM TOSAVE RIGHT HERE.

Osomatsu-san 17 – 25 | ReLIFE 1
The idea for ReLIFE from now on: Once all 2016 shows are done (rewatches or not), expect the 2016 ranking.
(ep 17)
Apparently Jyushimatsu was pretty popular in Japan, so they went with an entire episode on him…
Cup Noooooooooooodle, LOL.
I didn’t get the Comiket one…both times I saw it.
Oh yeah. This “my little Jyushimatsu” was hella popular after the guitar scene. I think.
Philosophical Jyushimatsu…but it doesn’t work without the volume.
Is Jyushimatsu Pan Jyushimatsu Bread or an actual Jyushimatsu…okay, I know what it is now.
Baseball references galore, so I’ll let this page explain it.
Omohide IIRC is an old fashioned term for omoide (memories).
(ep 18)
Well, it was true that Iyami was the protagonist of the anime in one series, alongside Chibita.
I really don’t want to explain references you probably know, okay?
If you stop at just the right moment (NSFW), it reminds you that “this anime is at your own risk”. There also seem to be comments from most of the other characters, including “fight dayo!”.
Hujistu (sic), LOL.
Three way explosion shot!
Crab shell, LOL. Plus, you’re not, Jyushimatsu.
The phomosis is apparently a piece of skin on the…erhem. Check it up yourself.
Chargin’ my lazor!!! (Once you notice they animated Todo during that lasering, you have to appreciate how much they upped the budget on this…)
Second lazoring!!!
I went back a few times through the ep, only to find Osomatsu’s sign says “Prank successful”.
(ep 19)
If I remember right, the episode was called “Shonosuke Hijirisawa-san” by CR standards, but…there’s no name to this episode for AnimeLab. Update: It’s called “Untitled” by both. My mistake.
Matsuo Basho was a poet who made haikus, hence the “dayon” making it have too many syllables.
Suiton-no-jutsu unfortunately has no Naruto-related resources that are on it, so I had to use the Naruto thing to find something on it…the one about duckweed (on the link) is the one you’re looking for, apparently.
The ghost one…haven’t you heard about the ghost who counts plates, Okiku?
The “Jyushi” in Jyushimatsu means 14, hence the motif.
There sems to be a sad undertone to the Joshimatsu segment this time. Like Showa Genroku or something.
Michiko Yokote was on staff this time. No wonder the Choromatsu Rising  part actually made me laugh both times I saw it.
(ep 20)
There was a flag on the title.
It’s a taco, not a kebab.
There is such a thing as horumonyaki, hence the yakisoba having “hormone” on the sign.
The pigeon is at least well animated.
The school segment is one of the more notable ones…in that it got even more boring the second time around. I know it’s meant to be funny by how spontaneous it is, but it really is a waste of timeto watch twice…part of the joke here is that they’re meant to be yankees (delinquents…Japanese delinquent have a very specific style that takes off after American schools).
Ichimatsu speaks in arrows for the CR subs, but he speaks in mashed keyboard keys in the AnimeLab subs. Doesn’t matter anyway because it’s gibberish, but nice to know.
“Funny” is subjective,so really, Iyami, just do what can garner you the most laughs.
Dekapana and Dayon are treating the sextuplets like novice rakugoka.
Why are Iyami’s audience all girls?...Oh, I answered this question myself on the TV Tropes fridge page.
(ep 21)
There’s something long behind the title (two of them, actually), but I don’t know what they are. Update: They appear to be hachimaki (headbands normally used to psyche a mahjong player – or person doing any sort of other activity – up) or mahjong sticks.
I know nothing about (physical) mahjong…so sorry, I can’t explain anything here. There is a Detective Conan OVA that explains this stuff though (though I can’t remember anything I learnt from it since I watched it a while ago…). Basically, I’m just watching for the sake of (second) completion right now.
ESP Kitty! Hello again!
Is this an Akagi parody?
Karamatsu dabbed!
Okay, now I’m sure it’s an Akagi parody.
I’d like that life too, except with bishonen, Choromatsu. Unfortunately, you speak the truth…
Shehkai Teio appears to be a pun on something that I don’t know…The crowd at the races looks hilarious, though.
(ep 22)
Apparently the name “Totty” was meant to be a one-off.
Where’d the skirt come from? Don’t tell me Totty raided his mother’s closet! Now that’s the lowest of the low!
“…they were thrown off their pace?”
What’s the song for? At least it made me laugh, which in this second runthrough seems to be a lot rarer than the first time.
The mixer is at a place called “Maruya”.
Latematsu can be read “Osomatsu”, if you didn’t get it.
How does Osomatsu fit in a pot?
“Shiei” meaning “Death Shadow”…at least with those kanji. Likewise, “Shiya” means “Death Arrow” and “Shiyu” means “Death Oil”.
Well, these guys have absolutely no geography skillls either…because the globe showed Iyami and co. were in India when they were hauling around Chinese stereotypes.
(ep 23)
Sibling sabotage. Also known as the “bystander effect”.
I wonder whether Choro was barfing at the Dayon girl, too.
I think the Dayon lady on the very left of the chase scene is probably the creepiest one yet…
I never liked vomit humour, by the way.
I still don’t get any of Jyushimatsu’s jokes…
Fear and Drunkenness in Las Vegas…kinda sorta.
There’s a flag on the back wall in the Dayon girl’s house which says “effort”. At least, by the Chinese standard of the word.
You can see the younger three brothers trying to fit in by stretching their mouths, LOL.
Did you ever notice the chalk Matsus are drawn by a person wearing a Matsu suit?
There was a post-ep scene, but it was just a reshowing of Osomatsu sticking a piece of tissue up Ichimatsu’s nose…what.
(ep 24)
Ongaku meaning “music”, so...
First I’ve heard of this song…welp, here you go.
“Bottom feeder” takes on a whole new meaning for the fish idol.
The…the feels…I know all your feels, Choromatsu…
Everyone! Are we all on the feels train right now?
Leaving that half…is surprisingly considerate of Ichimatsu.
Hey! It’s the couple from the Christmas episode.
(ep 25) [Trigger warning: Brief mention of seppuku…but you knew that already, didn’t you?]
Welp. Last ep. I may have complained about how the humour in this is pretty much sucked out by watching (most of) it a second time, but…every anime is an adventure. Remember that.
Wait, what’s an invitational?
Ichimatsu apparently got caught in the flow of “Nice!”s, only to get caught up in Karamatsu’s one. LOL.
The Koushien is a high school baseball tournament. For some reason, baseball is crazily popular in the Japanese world.
Owch, Osomatsu…
Karamatsu! He dabs!
A bean ball?...Oh, a bean ball. Okay. (I don’t quite get baseball, but I understand this, at least.)
French people don’t even play baseball…well, most of them.
Iyami’s shirt has 183 on it…or in goroawase, i-ya-mi.
Apparently Totoko did the male version of seppuku…which suits her character very well.
What in great Dante’s inferno, Karamatsu…?
Welp, that’s the end of that. The JRA special was excluded because I got bored of the series before even getting this far, as well as it not having anything I can talk about.
(ReLIFE ep 1)
Ah…the nostalgia only an anime can bring…It’s always extremely satisfying to see an anime of a manga you’ve known since it was an unknown.
Did you spot the cat on the TV a few seconds into the episode? It’s Hishiron’s LINE cat!
Haha, I know your feels too well, Arata.
The humour in this is quite quick, but it hits when it needs to.
Yoake was my Dazai (Bungou Stray Dogs) before I knew about Dazai. Why? Gadfly traits.
“Yoake” means “daybreak” and is apparently the name of a train station in Japan.
Interesting how they leave Arata in shadow until the reveal. The reason why I decided to start this series was because it was somewhat like Detective Conan.
I’ve always though the showing of a phone is integral to a show set in modern times, but in order for a show to be timeless, you can’t show too much of its or what model it is…That’s why “White Parasite” is the only one to feature a phone out of 3 Honeyfeed stories.
The iconic thing about ReLIFE is the clean, minimalistic designs, so the OP really suits this show.
A-hah. I thought they were organised according to hiragana character (roll number), which is fairly usual in anime…hence the thing I left on the ReLIFE Fridge page.
Formal speech is too formal if you’re using it with classmates (regardless of language)…so yeah.
Note Kariu and Oga are close in physical proximity to Kaizaki.
The Going Straight Home club, as I’ve mentioned in earlier times, is…no club at all.
Scanlations called Oga “Flashy Oga”, but “Showga” seems to work better than that.
Notice the word used in the CR subs is “pencil box”. Pencil case in Japanese is fudebako, the bako bit meaning “box”.
CR subs are acting up sometimes (they change font at the end of sentences)…what in Dante’s inferno…
Rules of Japanese: never use a first name unless given permission. For girls, it’s much more likely you can get permission. Of course, if you’re good friends, you can get permission easily too.

Fishnet Trend
Hopping on the fishnet trends months later.
F21 fishnets (SIMILAR HERE) || TOSAVE Crop Top || TOSAVE Pencil Pants || American Eagle Crop Top (SIMILAR HERE) || Primark Shoes (SIMILAR HERE)
I love seeing what’s trendy, but I always have a bad habit of hopping on any trends months later when it’s not in style anymore. I’ve always worn fishnet tights. I wore them throughout high school and parts of college, and then stopped. But I saw this trend starting it up few months ago and I decided to hop back into it.
My fishnet tights are from Forever 21. They have very affordable tights with many different designs and textures. I think mine were only about $4 and they come in different sizes, too! But they’re also stretchy. I guess what I don’t like about fishnets is that they can be a tad uncomfortable. Stepping on fishnets can be a pain, especially if you don’t like the marks, so I do recommend footless fishnet tights. SIMILAR HERE.
My top and bottom are from a website called tosave.com. It is an online e-commerce company that offers so many different categories at such a reasonable price. Some categories include clothing, makeup, electronics, video games, etc. All of their prices are so affordable and you can literally find anything you need on this website.
My pants were supposed to be somewhat like joggers or trousers, but they're more so pencil pants. However, they are tighter than joggers and somewhat are like leggings instead but with a thicker quality and not as stretchy. I decided to get them in light gray because I wanted to try a different color other than black. I also like how they’re cut out, although the cuts and splits look like you could have easily done them yourself. However, the slits are clean, meaning there were no threads coming out, which is great! It is somewhat stretchy but definitely more so tight. The quality is decent. It isn’t soft or super stretchy, but it’s not patent, wool, or anything that will upset or irritate your skin. It is somewhat of an elastic material. The top of the pants where the drawstrings are, is definitely elastic. I personally do like these pants because they honestly feel good on me. They’re not thin enough to see your underwear line and they’re not see-through at all but the material IS thin. They're like leggings, pretty thin but not see-through but not as stretchy. Nothing to worry about though, because they are comfortable. I purposely bought these because I thought they were joggers but instead, they are just regular pants that can somewhat get confused with leggings. I don’t find a problem with that but I was a little disappointed at first, but I will still continue to wear these pants. They’re also somewhat high waisted, which is great for me because I love high waisted pants. They're comfortable and I didn't have any problems with them when I was out and about wearing them. And I love how they make my butt look good! Definitely a plus!
The top is just a regular white crop top with a twist, literally. I love how you can tie it as well. I think it makes the top cuter. I purposely bought this because I knew it was going to be somewhat see-through. I wanted to wear some sort of bralette underneath but I ended up just wearing a regular black crop top from American Eagle in an extra small. I got this top in white for the see-through effect so you can see my crop top underneath. I had no problems with the crop top, so I genuinely do like it. However, it is pretty thin, so it can be worn to the beach or as a second layer over a bralette. But I didn’t have any problems with it whatsoever. It’s just another basic white crop top but super inexpensive. You literally cannot beat the price, super affordable! And I love the little knot! It makes the crop top more unique and makes it stand out! I totally love this top!
My shoes are from Primark. They’re pretty much like tennis shoes or fake vans. I wore this in a navy blue for a slight pop of color since I was already wearing gray and white. You can somewhat see the black underneath my crop top but I wanted to add a little more color, which is why my shoes are navy blue.
DISCLAIMER: Crop Top & joggers were gifted to me by TOSAVE but all opinions are of my own and as always, completely honest.
