i know it's a holdover from them being invented so that rwby could have a catgirl, but MAN i wish the faunus got to be more bestial. theyre supposed to be a perfect mix between animals and humans, but theyre SO much more human. im gonna start drawing them with more animal traits and fur for fun

I have a big google doc thing where I keep track of media and stuff (putting everything in loosely ranked categories), which is mostly just for my own reference so I know what tv shows I've already seen before, etc. and I never really look back through it, typically just a quick "okay, watched two movie in the past 8 months, need to quickly slap them somewhere in the lists. okay. done. save document. exit". But today I was actually reading through some of the old notes and there are like... MULTIPLE places where my comment is basically "It would have been good if it were about elves" or "I wish there was a fantasy show made in this same style" or "It's well made, but I just keep thinking about how I would like it more if everyone was an elf or was in old 1700s costumes" or etc like...... lol.... Most biased media ranking system on earth blatantly made by someone with an extremely hyperspecific range of narrow interests. It'd be like if a food reviewer only had 5 foods they actually liked, so they'd just go to a pizza place and be like "eh, the pizza was okay, but I just think it would be better if it was cereal instead. :/ ...2 out of 10"

You know what's my second biggest gripe with the latest "fanon is bad, anything that's not canon-compliant is flawed" trend, right behind the fact that it's just rebranded cringe culture?
It just completely shits all over hobbyist and beginner writers. Good characterisation in writing is a skill. A skill that people can be bad at. God knows, it always takes me a while to get a canon character right, I admit I am not the greatest at it or media literacy or reading comprehension - though I try I'm sometimes not the greatest and I still have things to learn. And I hate that we basically went from "hobbyists don't need to improve their skills if they don't want to" to shaming people who aren't good at certain skills.
I hate that fandom as a whole went from "people can enjoy things and do whatever they want as long as if doesn't hurt anybody" right back to shaming and policing people for not having fun the "right" way.
"He would not fucking say that", sorry for being blunt but who gives a shit? Why should you care if somebody rewrites a character for an AU? Why does it bother you if somebody has a version of a character that's nothing like their canon self? How does that affect you in any way?
And it's fine if you don't like fanon, if you prefer canon, we all have different interests and likes and that's fine - but don't pretend like you're better for it.

About DA Legends: I couldn't confirm this but I read that one ending boon in Origins sets up a new Circle in West Hill, and that's the Jainen Circle.
ok this has been in my inbox for 3 months because i never got round to checking this, but im currently going through dialogue files for an unrelated reason and got reminded of this
if the warden dies and they're a mage, alistair/anora will say the following:
I wish to see the Circle restored. However, I understand that the Veil at the tower is too weak. That being the case, I wish a new tower built--with the Chantry's aid. And it will bear the Hero's name.
there's nothing to say it's in west hill (unless that's mentioned in some other media), although jainen is in the waking sea bannorn anyway (but likely off the coast of the west hill bannorn, so it's close)
that said, this is absolutely a contender for the jainen circle. id say it's completely unintended, but im gonna accept it because that's just what you've gotta do with legends lore

Hi! Huge fan of your fics, kinda new to Tumblr. Do you ship any of the engines (if you don’t mind me asking?)
Hey, thanks for dropping a line!
I was a non-shipper for quite a while, then I started dabbling. I'm open to lots of different (and conflicting) ships but some of the ones that I'm most committed to are:
Thomas/Bertie
Edward/BoCo
Henry/Bear
Percy/Harold
Duck/Donald
Douglas/Toad/Oliver
Mavis/Salty
Also, if you trawl my archives long enough, you’ll see occasional references to Toby/Diesel and James/Porter. And you might wonder: Wait, are they f***in' serious? The official answer is that the former is just for a lark (specifically, for a dare)… but the latter I am indeed pretty serious about. ;)

I swear I'm trying to type out the thing about my brain but I'm really not sure how much detail I feel comfortable going into... I used to be so open on here, but then uh, I had several big falling outs with friends and a couple of them started stalking me, so I left my blog on queue since 2014 and then stopped posting from 2016 to 2020. The only place I felt comfortable making posts relating to my personal life or mildly dissenting fandom-related posts was on a locked twt account with only 20-40 people on it.
Anyway, I'm Trying
