Honestly I am not a fan of Steroline. This ship sort of feels like Stefan is settling because he can't be with Elena. I prefer him with Valerie, their previous history makes that relationship more unique.

thinking about damon in s7 being told by anyone and everyone, from the beginning, that he was going to screw things up, that everyone he loved was better off without him, being asked what mess he was going to make next, etc… in a lot of cases before anything had actually really happened yet! is it any wonder that he preemptively goes into damage control mode (and consequently actually does cause damage as a result)? is it any wonder that he thought the only way to save his loved ones from himself, that the only way to not disappoint them was to take himself out of the picture?

and then they were angry with him for that too (and justifiably so, but) it’s not hard to imagine that he would feel like he’s damned either way. that he can’t do anything right. not hard to imagine why he would want to sacrifice himself (take himself out of the picture) again even though it’s objectively Not a Good Idea.

“Ah,” Julian sighs, turning in a slow circle. “Am I to believe my children have finally deigned to make their grand entrance?”

Kai loosens his grip on his cloaking spell, letting Julian see them properly for the first time. 

“Look at you,” Julian whistles, giving them each a slow grin. “Didn’t want to face me alone, Valerie? I never raised you to rely on backup.”

“You’re not my father,” Valerie growls, moving out of Kai’s grasp as she stalks forward. Her fingers twist, sending the crowd of vampires to their knees. Another twist has their necks cracking, a tumble of bodies crashing to the ground as she climbs onto the stage. “You’re nothing but a vile, despicable monster. You took my happiness from me. You murdered my child. I spent years hiding from the truth of what you did to me. But I have been looking forward to this day for a very long time.”

“Such pretty words,” Julian murmurs, his gaze moving slowly over her face. “I suppose I did teach you how to deliver a proper threat.”

“It’s only a threat if you can’t follow through,” Stefan says, joining them on the stage. “We’re going to tear you apart while your people watch. You can consider that a final promise.” 

“I’m curious,” Julian says, turning his back to gaze at the buildings surrounding them. “What does your mother think about all this? Lily will be devastated when she learns you’ve made yet another attempt on my life.”

“Lily knows exactly where we are,” Kai calls from outside the circle, staying back with Beau and Nora. “By the time we’re done here, she’ll be cleaned up and ready to leave you behind for good.”

“I wouldn’t be so sure of that,” Julian taunts. “My darling Lily has an appetite few have rarely seen. Given how easy it was for me to convince her to slip back into her bloodlust, I’d say you’ll be dealing with the aftereffects for decades to come. Centuries, if I’m lucky. What will your coven think of you, boy, when they learn you’ve thrown in your lot with the woman they once set out to destroy?”

HARRY — whenever harry is feeling lonely (aka whenever stefan is off fixing d*mon's messes or out there doing hero hair hot guy shit) he finds himself looking up at the night sky and searching for the north star because it reminds him of his husband. stefan is his north star, shining brighter than any other star in the sky. while the moon is a reminder of his curse, the star is a reminder that he has a safe space and that no matter what happens, stefan will always find his way back to him.

VALERIE — in the 1903 prison world, valerie started journaling, but instead of starting each entry with 'dear diary,' she started them with 'dear stefan,' writing a different letter to him every day. sometimes she would tell him the truth about what happened, other times she would just tell him about her day, or about whatever was on her mind. it was therapeutic for her, and helped her work through her trauma. it was easy for her to write to him, knowing he would never read what she wrote.      ( . . . BONUS FEELS : she would have named their child cassiopeia. )

I was rewatching second season of legacies and seventh season of TVD and I got this crazy idea about Sebastian’s character in legacies. If you forget about his story and change his character a bit… just think about it. What if they went with the plot that he is actually Stefan and Valerie’s son. Like Valerie succeeded with the spell and saved the kid from Julian. There could be the whole plot when they piece it together and all. That would be so good. I might think about fic or something because the idea will stay with me for a while.
