// Oh hello! This is part 2 of a series of small world-building Headcanons I have. I want to point out that while these are the blog’s Mainverse, I do adjust to my partner’s headcanons and will switch them up to fit different verses. These are all Undertale related, by the way.
 While you’re free to be inspired by these, of course, or even integrate them in your blog/story, please message me first. Please don’t just straight out copy ideas from here and use them on your blogs because, as silly as it sounds, I’ve put a lot of work and effort into these and they’re also very specific to my blog and influencing the characters and blog’s storyline. Thanks for your understanding! //
𝒩𝒶𝓉𝓊𝓇𝑒 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒸𝒽𝒶𝓇𝒶𝒸𝓉𝑒𝓇𝒾𝓈𝓉𝒾𝒸𝓈 ;
 Of all Seven Souls, Determination is the only single one in the timeline. Determination Souls can last up to a century. They can be distinguished by their bright red color and they do not function like average SOULS do. A Determination soul’s power is related to time-altering. However, unlike other souls, there are no assigned powers or character traits. Essentially ownership of a Determination soul does not tend to grant its owner certain character features, or shape their character in any way. They remain a black slate and are affected exclusively from outside stimuli.
 The reason for that lies in DT’s purpose. Determination is essentially a substance found in all living beings, the substance that gives them the power to shape their own path in life. Thus the DT soul grants its owner the power to shape, not only theirs, but the entire timeline’s path. It does not grant any characteristics to the owner, for that would disrupt them from naturally growing up in the world, drawing in outside stimuli and become part of it so that they’ll have an idea of what they need to do with its DESTINY. All DT souls have a very strong sense of purpose in their lives, and are constantly looking for a way to define that purpose. That’s perhaps the only character trait the soul grants.
 DT’s nature resembles that of a flame more than it does soul matter. The soul ‘burns’ for a century before its core burns itself out. Because of similarities, humans with a DT soul are often compared to elemental monsters.
𝒜𝓈𝒸𝑒𝓃𝓈𝒾𝑜𝓃 𝑜𝒻 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒟𝒯 𝓉𝓇𝒶𝒾𝓉;
 For a new DT soul to be born in a timeline, the previous one must have died. Unlike most souls, there can never be two DTs in the same timeline. DT souls live up to 100 years and can switch between hosts should their original body be threatened. However, most human bodies are highly unfit to house a DT soul, because of the differences in its nature as well as one very unique feature;
 DT soul hosts are born into bodies with the ability to survive in Frozen time, as well as retain their wounds in their next life in the form of scars. Thus, should one of them die from a stab wound, they’ll return in the next Reset with a scar right where that wound was. This trait has been developed for DT soul hosts to keep track of their death and Reset counts, as there is no other way they can remember how many times they have Reset, other than counting those scars.
𝐵𝒾𝓇𝓉𝒽 𝑜𝒻 𝒟𝑒𝓂𝑜𝓃𝓈 𝒻𝓇𝑜𝓂 𝒟𝒯 𝓈𝑜𝓊𝓁𝓈;
 As mentioned in the first paragraph, DT souls will keep ‘burning’ for at least a century before they tire out and perish. Thus, owners of DT cannot die from natural causes at an age earlier than 100 human years old. However they can, of course, die from unnatural causes; they are mortal and they can be killed.
 The earlier a DT soul is slayed, the more energy it still has to burn before it burns itself out. Thus, even when separated from the body, it will not vanish like other souls would, but instead keep pulsating on its own accord. During that time, if not contained or somehow restrained, the DT soul has a very high chance of attaching itself to a new body and continuing to live in the new owner, overpowering the soul previously inside them.
 However, should the DT soul be contained (i.e. in SOUL containers designed to preserve human souls outside their body) the timeline will experience a lack of DT soul and, naturally, a new DT soul will be born. That technically means there will be two DT souls in the same timeline, which according to paragraph one could cause a rift in the time-space continuum. But, the previous DT soul is still alive and cannot perish before its time is through. Even if the original soul is contained, its presence in the timeline alone will disrupt the function of time-altering abilities.
 The natural mechanism integrated in DT souls for this purpose is to convert into a ‘lesser’ form of a soul; a state of ‘living dead’ that de-activates the soul’s ability but doesn’t stop it from continuing to exist in the meantime. Thus, those ‘lesser’ DT souls can still attach to the souls of other people like parasites and feast on them and still have ‘corrupted’ abilities a DT soul would be potentially able to present (excluding time manipulation). They can, for example, grant their owners telekinetic abilities, shape shifting or thought projection onto other humans (i.e. causing someone to hallucinate). They can alter the space around them, but not the time. Those souls have been branded as ‘Demons’ in older soul-science. Their creation is a very rare occurrence and they are potentially immortal, but can be slayed.
 Popular Demons include Antu’an, the Demon of power, Asmodeus, the Demon of Greed and Chara, the demon of LOVE.
𝒰𝓈𝑒 𝑜𝒻 𝒟𝒯 𝓅𝑜𝓌𝑒𝓇𝓈 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝓇𝑒𝓈𝓉𝓇𝒾𝒸𝓉𝒾𝑜𝓃𝓈:
 The main Power of any DT soul is the ‘Reset’ function. Reset, restores the timeline in the previous Save Point. Reset can be performed manually or automatically when the DT soul dies.
 Other powers unlocked in this specific timeline include;
Rewind: cannot rewind more than a couple of seconds back otherwise you risk a rift in the time space continuum. Rewinding can only happen at will  and cannot be triggered instinctively like Pause or Play or Reset.
Pause: can happen instinctively when the DT soul is in immense shock. Only DT souls and demons can move within the frozen time. The lack of oxygen and air makes it impossible to breathe and entering moving Time too abruptly can squish the lungs of an average human because of pressure change. (* Flowey can understand a pause happened but without soul possession he can’t move either)
Play: happens instinctively if the DT soul is out of breath during pause otherwise can be initiated during Pause. This time the DT soul doesn’t ‘press a button’ but can use a word phrase to help focus on the Act instead. (*like “and time flows again” is Crimsons phrase while “Time moves on” is Steel’s phrase.)
Autosave: The timeline saves automatically every time the DT soul loses 80% of its HoPe.
𝐵𝓁𝑜𝑔 𝒮𝓅𝑒𝒸𝒾𝒻𝒾𝒸𝓈;
 The timeline’s DETERMINATION Soul is Frisk Chett. Thus they hold absolute control over the Reset function, as well as access to *Save files and *Save points. The timeline *AUTOSAVES with every death of Frisk.
 The *Autosave function, as well as the *Rewind are unique to this timeline and have been unlocked after Frisk injected themself with excess Determination, found in the timeline’s True Lab. When Frisk dies, the Autosave and Rewind functions will again become unavailable.
 The sole demon currently inhabiting this timeline is Chara. Chara lives in the body of a man previously known as ‘Herr Miller’, currently referred to as ‘Crimson’. Crimson’s conscience has been infused with Chara’s. However, should the demon choose to remove its soul from the body, it would not be able to carry the new conscience with it.
