The Empress, in Little Rock, Arkansas is gorgeous 1888 Victorian that is currently a bed & breakfast/wedding venue. It has 10bd 10.5ba & is listed for $1.1M.
Isn’t the staircase grand? What a magnificent home.
Central hall with a fabulous fireplace leads off to several rooms on the main floor.
This is one of the elegant sitting rooms.
This sitting room has a writing table before the fireplace.
Stunning library has a map on the ceiling.
Teh formal dining room is off the kitchen, but I searched for an hour and couldn’t find a photo of the kitchen.
This bd. is a suite that has a tub and a kitchenette.
Behind the tub is double shower.
Beautiful 2nd fl. landing. You can’t see much of it, but there’s a stained glass skylight above the stairs.
Very pretting bd.
Some of the baths are vintage, while others are modern.
This bd. has a sink, typical of Victorian bedrooms.
This is another vintage bath.
Room at the top of the turret. How cool is this?
The attic is also finished.
Isn’t this beautiful?
There’s also this cute little pavilion where they do weddings.

I was in a Victorian-style mansion when a weird, scorpion-esque thing crawled out from under a couch. I screamed and stomped on it. My mom poked her head in, spotted the bug, and said, "Oh, there's a ton more of those in here. Real hard to kill, too. Lots of babies." This scared me so bad that I woke up.

Y'all I have a genuine question. Do people with ancestral wealth still exist?
I'm not talking about those with rich grandparents, I'm talking about those with names that were prominent generations ago. Those who owned huge aesthetic mansions and hosted parties and balls, who had immense political power, whose sir name was a symbol of status and held prominence in the society.
Do these names still hold some sort of value in high society? Do they get any benefits because of this? Do they still live in those beautiful ancestral mansions and profit off of inherited wealth? If not, what happened to those things?
I should probably clarify that I'm talking about ppl from the European countries here. The answer is probably obvious, so sorry in advance if it's a dumb question. We have nothing like that in our country because it's been broke as hell from like the 1700s lmao.

Found this bargain today. The 1890 Victorian belonged to a Whiskey Baron and it still maintains the same opulence. The mansion in the Moss Bradley Historic District of Peoria, Illinois has been lovingly cared for and appreciated. It has 4bd. 3.5ba. and is only $375K. You gotta see this.
Check out the original oak doors.
On top of all the hand carved wood and everything else that’s original in the house, they decorated it with Bradbury wallpaper, so it’s even more fabulous.
Pocket doors, wood coffered ceilings and a glorious fireplace in what has been made a pool room.
Look at the wallpaper in the dining room. This home needs nothing- it’s move-in ready and gorgeous.
It’s a beautiful modern bath, but I wish they’d have done it in a vintage style.
The kitchen remodel is so good, I can’t tell if those cabinets are original. The do look it, like they were.
Look at the details on the railing and newel post.
Look at how beautiful the bedroom is.
Now, this bath remodel is spot on.
How cool is this bedroom? It has a nook with columns.
Gloriously beautiful family room.
Cozy finished attic.
They squeezed a shower in up here.
Nice bonus room.
Gated driveway.
In the back is a large deck, area with pavers, and a garden. It’s hard to tell in winter, though.
Doesn’t it look beautiful in late summer, though?
