A list of shitty things that the Skam kids have done

Eva: Stole her best friend’s boyfriend. Cheated on her boyfriend. 

Vilde: Has said too many inconsiderate things to even list. Is definitely hiding something to do with her mom’s wine nights. And lets be honest, is probably going to break Magnus’ heart.

Noora: Dated William despite Vilde. Left William to London without saying anything and lied about it to the girls.

Sana: Didn’t tell Noora about William’s girlfriend. 

Chris: Has definitely done something but we wouldn’t know because she doesn’t get the screen time she deserves.

Jonas: Smoked weed behind her girlfriend’s back and lied about it. Started dating her girlfriend’s best friend. 

Isak: Told Chris’ girlfriend about Eva and Chris. Forgot Magnus’ birthday. Was inconsiderate towards the mentally ill and towards “gay culture”.

Even: Cheated on Sonja. Got with Sonja when he was already with Isak. Has kept a lot of things from Isak.

And I’m sure you got so defensive while reading these, right? That’s because there are reasons and justifications for a lot of these things. There are no villains in skam, but these characters are humans that make mistakes. This human element is what makes skam so relatable and so real. 

So, why are we judging so many of the balloon boys and Noora atm, when everyone else has fucked up as well, and we don’t even know the whole story behind the last episode’s events? We need to wait until we hear the whole story, and even then we need to remember that everyone does shitty things sometimes.

Can we talk about Eva though, 'hey vilde there's some rumours you don't like your boyfriend, isn't that funny vilde, do you like your boyfriend? Maybe you like someone else, wouldn't that be hilarious, like, you like a close friend, maybe, that you've made out with before, speaking of which I went to a party, like those parties we use to always make out at, ha ha funny anyway, russ buss am I right? Hey vilde remember when we made out on that bus, that time? But yeah, apparently you don't fancy Magnus, I don't know, it's just what people are saying. That you don't like your boyfriend. Is that true? Just wondering haha ... '

I think that it’s really funny that Vilde was completely not offended by Elias asking for nudes.  If some random guy that I met a week ago asked me for nude pictures, I’d probably delete him off of facebook and block him.  She was flattered.  She even reported back to Sana and said that she wants to hang out with him and, while she was not offended by the nudes request, she seemed more offended that it was for a YouTube video.

I don’t know how to word this.  Despite Vilde’s obsession with William, I knew that she wasn’t actually sexually attracted to him because of the scene in Eva’s room right before she went off to have sex.  Instead of being attracted to him, she was attracted to everything around him, and she was attracted to the idea of him being into her.

And maybe that’s also the case with Elias, Magnus, and even Eva.  The difference with Eva, I think, is that she admitted to feeling turned on and is in complete denial of what that could mean.  But I never actually shipped Eva and Vilde because apart from them making out in parties, I never got the idea that she was romantically interested in Eva?  Maybe she just likes making out with her?

One thing that I don’t like about a lot of coming out stories that are also love stories is that oftentimes a gay person’s first same sex relationship is with their One True Love.  That’s not always the case in real life.  Sometimes people have sexual or romantic encounters with people of the same sex just to test the waters.  They might know deep down that they aren’t heterosexual, but they might not have any romantic feelings for that particular person.
