Prompt (430)
The hero gave the villain a strange look. “What’s that? In your arms.”
The villain turned pink. “Uh. Nothing.”
Beneath the swathe of blankets they were holding, a distinct meow sounded out.

Hero stares down at the paper in front of them with mounting dread. Their stomach is all tied in knots, and they feel a cold sweat at the back of their neck.
"You know, you don't have to do this if you truly don't want, I'm not forcing you." Villain purrs behind Hero, voice against their ear. The threat is unspoken. If Hero doesn't sign, they'll continue with their rampage. Continue killing, destroying, maiming.
The pen shakes in Hero's hand as they continue staring down at the paper. It's just a piece of paper, made of thick cardstock, cream white. Yet Hero has been staring at it for fifteen minutes, as if it'll bite them.
Certificate of Marriage
The font is too pretty, all stately and official looking. Hero feels as if they may throw up any minute.
"I don't understand why.." Hero finally finds their voice, asking the question that's been bouncing around in their mind since Villain first pulled the paper out as they suggested a truce.
"You already know my terms. In exchange for leaving your hero friends unharmed, for leaving the civilians of the city unharmed, I want you." Villain's voice is something possessive, filled with fire and heat. "This just makes it more official. More binding."
Hero shudders, and they feel as Villain steps closer behind them, a dark shadow looming over them. They know this goes beyond simply wanting to make their agreement more binding and they both know it.
"You know it's not legitimate- it's not legally binding without an officator." Hero stumbles over their words, not even sure if that's true.
Villain snorts, not usually one to be worried about legality of course. They put a hand to Hero's shoulder, warm and rough.
"I can find a priest to threaten. No one needs to know how and when we signed. Unless you'd rather make a big ceremony of this." Villain's tone is now teasing, amused by the idea of a wedding. "That could certainly be done if you prefer."
Flushing hot, Hero shakes their head quickly. No, they would not prefer that. This is already nerve-wracking and humiliating as is. A part of them wants to outright refuse, to tear the paper the shreds, and throw it in their face, but Hero knows this is the chance to get Villain to back down.
"I wouldn't be unkind to you." Villain says, voice suddenly softer and more serious. They lean forward, face resting against Hero's neck. The most terrible part is that Hero knows they mean it. They wouldn't be unkind or cruel, and that makes this all the more difficult. "You'd belong to me, but I'd take care of you."
Hero already knows there's no choice. They knew from the beginning that there was no other option. They have to do what is best for everyone else. Shakily, they finally nod.
"So selfless, so sacrificial to others." Villain says as they place a feather light kiss against the shell of their ear. "We'll have to work on that once you're with me."
They take Hero's hand currently holding the pen in their own, their grasp strong, as they lift it to the paper.

Warmth
"Most absurd is," Hero scowls, "you cuddling me to sleep on the basis of a fever—do you really have a fever?"
"Mmhm, all thanks to you." Villain craddles Hero closer, full lips settling to the top of Hero's head.
"Then, why are you the big spoon?"
"The sick one gets a pass, now hush and sleep."
And they did, a blissful one — surprisingly even to Hero, who has been suffering from recent episodes of insomnia.
Little did Hero know, aside from controlling the flames, Villain can also regulate his body temperature freely.

Prompt #65
“You can’t be serious right? You want to fight me just because I took down your favorite bakery shop?!” The villain exclaimed in disbelief, their jaw wide open.
The hero didn’t falter, frowning with their eyebrows and lips. “It had the best banana bread! You can’t just do that and not expect me to come find your ass!” The hero said, defensively.
The villain couldn’t help but find it cute, as they let out a laugh. “How about I promise to buy you the best bakery shop in the world?”
The hero took a step forward. “It doesn’t matter. I want the one that you destroyed.”
“I didn’t know.” The villain sighed, feeling like a helpless parent that had thrown an old toy of their child away, and now the child wanted it back.
The hero jabbed their finger to the villain’s chest, squinting their eyes. “You pay the owner to build it back, and I won’t fight you.” They demanded, staring daggers into the villain’s eyes.
“Fine.” The villain mumbled, after thinking for a second.
“Fine?” The hero questioned, not being able to believe the villain’s words.
The villain nodded. “Yes, fine.”
“You promise?” The hero asked, smiling slightly, as their hand smoothed over the villain’s chest.
“Yes, I promise, hero.” The villain smiled reluctantly as well.
And they indeed did help the owner rebuild the shop, an even bigger one just to see that gleaming smile on the hero’s face when they suggested it.
Oh, and they also had many dates in the shop.

“Why are you doing this?” Hero spat, panting to catch his breath. “Do you want to rule the empire?”
“What a childish dream for me to have,” villain cupped hero’s chin in his hands. “I want to rule over you.”

Villains who are polite and elegant while commiting crimes. Their fighting looks like a dance form. They're well-versed in how to act for/ preform for/ entertain the rich (they are the rich, "villainy pays well"). Genius (actual braindead idiot).
On the other hand, a hit-hard, ask-questions-after kind of hero. They're a disaster, and quite frankly help others because they don't know how (or don't want to) help themselves. Braindead idiot (accidental genius).
Now make it enemies to lovers.
Hero "hates" villain for their mannerism, but they're really just infatuated with them. Villain's taunts make them think about their actions.
Villain's attraction is "why are people in their midlife crisis so hot" and moronsexual™️. Hero makes their brain shortcircuit.
Hero: "Oh poor you, your perfect, greasy, pretty hair is singed."
Villain: Are they flirting or insulting me? God they're so bad at it no matter which on it is (It's both), that's so sexy
Hero, bruised and bloody, getting up with shaky legs, smiling. It's very attractive: "I've been hit harder"
Villain, nose bleeding: "Hello, sailor"
Villain, dusting off their now riped-in-shambles suit, and straightening the cuffs, "I just got this suit after you destroyed the last one. I would ask you to purchase me a new set of attire, but I doubt you can afford it."
Hero, their brain thinking 'No, I deffinately cannot' to 'I'd like to see them without the suit entirely' to 'Wait, what?' and 'God, I hate them, their lovely voice, their hair that smells like how honey tastes, the way they smile when they reveal their plans' and would really like to see villain without the suit entirely (even through villain looks great in all of their suits): "Just stop wearing suits and wear something that can handle me."
Villain, wondering if Hero is doing this on purpose (they aren't) and what their relationship even is: "Hot"
Hero: "What"
Villain: "What"
Hero: "Did you just call me ho-"
Villain, paniking: "You're on fire"
Hero: "???? No, I'm no-????"
Villain, pulling out a flamethrower and shooting Hero (dw they're flame-proof): hO t.

Villain was staring at the ceiling. They forgot again. They forgot Villain's birthday.
They're used to it. Of course they are. But they hoped that at least Supervillain would remember it. After all, they love them.
Supervillain was working late. Again. As if this day wasn't special at all.
They're not going to be home until midnight. At least that's what they said. But the opening of the front door suggested otherwise.
Villain raised their head. Footsteps echoed through the house and stopped behind them. Before Villain could do anything, someone pulled a sack over their head. They kicked and punched, but the other one was much stronger than them.
"Happy birthday, darling"
Supervillain pulled the sack off of Villain's head. As their eyes adjust to the light, Villain finds themself in front of a set table. In the middle of the table is a black cake with Villain's name on it. Next to the cake is a covered tray.
Supervillain steps next to the tray and lifts the cloth that covered it.
On the tray is the dead body of the Hero, dressed in beautiful clothes, as if smiling. Tied on their wrist is a red bow.
Viialin's eyes fill with tears.
"You don't like it?" Supervillain sounds a little worried.
"That's... the nicest thing anyone ever done for me..."
Supervillain sighs in relief.
"Anything for you, darling"

Prompt (#5)
The hero had been hurt in battle many times before. They were used to the pain, and they accepted it. It came with the job. But, they noticed, their nemesis in particular never hurt them too badly. It came across that way to the public, but it only ever really took some bandages. Subconsciously, the hero began to lighten up on the villain too. Their fights became like a dance, almost. A beautiful, dangerous dance.
Of course, they were bound to step on each other's toes eventually. It came one day when their fight was particularly heated, and their punches were swung harder and faster than normal. The villain caught the hero, and with their strength managed to throw the hero backwards, sending them flying, only to be stopped by a painful collision with the wall. The hero cried out, hitting the floor.
The world spun a little, and it took them a moment to recover from it. Their back was suddenly aching, and they were frozen in shock for a moment.
That wasn't as shocking as what the villain said next, though.
“Fuck,” they breathed, hurrying over to the hero. “How bad did I hurt you? I'm sorry, I–”
“You're… what?”

The feeling was odd, maybe even wrong when hero met eyes with villain.
For two months the villain had completely disapered from the world after their last fight with supervillain, and for once the hero had actually thought supervillain had done it.
The Hero thought supervillain had actually killed villain. however now they knew they were wrong.
How could villain be dead if hero could see villain just standing their from across the street?
The Hero knew something was off when they just saw villain standing their out in the open in their villain attire.
The hero looked around at all the people who were walking by, not a single person was saying a thing not even batting an eye as they walked past the villain.
The villain just stood there like they didn't have a care in the world, it was as if nothing around them matter anymore.
The villain didn't react, not even the slightest bit when they met eyes with hero.
To the hero they saw something aching to hopelessness in villains eyes.
No words, No smile, Nothing. In other words the villain was like a blank slate wiped clean. However the fact still remained, villain was here.
The Hero swallowed as a bitter and sour taste started to linger in the back of their mouth when they spoke.
"What happened to you villain?" The hero had asked.
The way villain flinched when hero had called out to them was as if villain was surprised to hear their own name.
Quickly the villain wasted no time crossing the gap between the hero and themself.
Grasping for straws the villain frantically asked the hero a single question.
"C-can you see me?" The villain had asked with wide eyes.
It was only when a civilian walked through villain did the hero finally realize they were talking to a ghost.

“I’m going to get you one day,” they whispered into the hero’s ear.

"I want the names of who hurt you." Villain's voice was icy and lethal. They held Hero's gaze, not letting them look away.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." Hero huffs, finally breaking eye contact, not liking the murderous intent they saw on their face.
Villain leans closer, not accepting their deflection. "Don't try and lie to me," They grab Hero's chin, lifting their face back up, "I'm not an idiot. I know what's right in front of me."
"And what is it that you think is right in front of you?" Hero tries to bite back, but they can't get the tremble to leave their voice.
Villain sees right through them though, sees the apprehension in their expression. They continue to hold their head in their cold hands.
"An anxious, traumatized mess who can't stop flinching when I so much as raise a hand up." Their fingers let go of Hero's chin, now tugging on the collar of their shirt, revealing their scarred shoulder. "Don't think I haven't noticed this either. I know these aren't from any of our fights."
Hero pulls themselves away from Villain but says nothing, brows furrowed. They have no defense to offer, no lie to spin.
"I'll ask you again. What are the names of who hurt you?" Villain stays close, the heat from their body starting to seep through Hero's clothes, "Are they still hurting you?" Villain's voice is tight, as if they could snap at any moment, though not at Hero.
"And what will you do if I give you those names?" Hero asks, but with a twisting feeling in their gut, they already have a good guess.
Villain scoffs. "I asked you not to downplay my intelligence, and I won't downplay yours either. You already know what I'm going to do, darling."
Hero simply shakes their head. Yeah, they do know. "If i refused to give you any names?"
Leaning forward, they grab Hero's jaw again, not harshly but with a firmness that shows how serious they are.
"I'm not letting you go until then, in that case. I'm not releasing you back to whoever it is that thinks they're allowed to hurt you. To put their hands on what's mine," Villain's possessive words has Hero shivering, though not with fear, "Tell me the names, or you won't ever be leaving my side again."

Enemies with Benefits
"So, let me get this straight," Hero raises a hand, "after throughly beating me out there, you're here now, treating my wounds and my twisted ankle, while also feeding me soup?"
Villain raises a brow, "Is there something wrong with it?"
"Yes," Hero rolls her eyes, hands moving to cover her face—as if hiding an embarassment that shouldn't have been hers. Then, she places them both by her sides, leaning onward to Villain, "have you considered that maybe it's not the usual procedure between the Chosen One and the Harbinger of Ruin?"
"Traditions bore me." Villain wipes a stain of the cream soup on the edge of Hero's mouth, "Now, say ahh."

Prompt #7
"So a siren takes the form of whoever you most desire?"
Supervillain rolled their eyes at Henchman, "It takes the form of whoever you love the most. Love and desire are not the same thing. You would die for someone you love, not someone you only superficially desire."
"Yeah, okay...but Villain is on deck right now and..."
Supervillain whipped their head around, "What do you mean Villain is on deck?! I expressly gave the orders for everyone to stay below!"
"I know but sir...."
"No buts! Go out there and get them back inside!"
"You should really see..."
"Really see what?"
Henchman rubbed the back of their neck, "The form the siren took for Villain, to lore them outside...it looks like..."
Supervillain narrowed their eyes, "Like who?"
"Like Detective."

Loving Names
Hero was perplexed when Villain stopped calling them by their terms of endearment. Things like “honey,” “love,” or “sweetheart,” had made them melt, but they’d never dare show interest to an enemy like that. They were just curious as to why, that’s all.
It was just a bit strange now that they realized after their last few battles with Villain, all the nicknames had disappeared entirely.
In the time they met Villain they always knew there was just something about them that drew them closer. It wasn’t just the way Villain affectionately talked them up or the small remarks that gave them butterflies but also the hints of deeper feelings they left for them with every banter.
It all tore at their heart, of course they can’t openly say something so embarrassing. A hero’s job was to protect the city and its citizens from villains and this one was no exception.
So Hero never reciprocated the behaviour. They couldn’t let themselves become caught up in the emotional drama Villain was leading them in.
At least they should’ve saw it coming. They should’ve known that after denying Villain from the satisfaction of ever knowing how they felt, that Villain would eventually stop pursuing. They would stop the flirting and the lingering gazes. The gentle but brief touches and the high risk close combat that gave Villain a chance to speak soft poems to them.
It was like a reset button had been pressed and Villain immediately returned to how things initially were when they first met.
For that, Hero felt great regret.
Which is why they were planning on confronting them.
~~~
They found Villain sitting casually at the scene of another crime. It almost seemed unusually quicker than normal. It would take at least an hour to detect Villain at any of these attacks, but it looked like the universe had something else in mind.
Determination pushed Hero toward their nemesis, the question still boiling deep inside them.
Hero walked behind them as the other idly sat on the roof, their feet dangling at its edge. “Villain,” they spoke.
They rose from their position, and turned to look at them with sly eyes. “Just in time. Shall we continue where we left off?”
Without much hesitation, Hero pulled out their weapon and readied themselves for the dance they’ve grown so familiar with.
Villain closed the gap and swung in their direction; their hand aiming for their gut. They quickly blocked the attack and backed up, a swift kick sent them back and let Hero breathe momentarily.
As the battle continued against Villain, their heart began to race out of anticipation for the promised conversation. It would be awkward at first, but as soon as they could get it out they would play it all off cool.
“What’s got your mind wandering?” Villain shoved Hero to ground as quickly as they tugged the weapon out of their grasp.
At first, they didn’t acknowledge the concern, but figured if anything, now would be the time to ask. Their eyes warily stared at Villain’s mischievous mask, though words began to fail them, “Uh…” it had to be now. They couldn’t let this stress take hold of them any longer.
The criminal stood just a few feet from them with a curious glint. They were certain they knew exactly what Hero was going to ask.
“I noticed…” Their voice was a lot shakier as they stood, “That you stopped with all the… names.” Their gaze stayed glued to the ground as their face grew hotter.
Villain hummed with an expression that lightened up instantly. “Oh, what do you mean?”
So they were going to play stupid. Was this some kind of punishment for not giving the reciprocation they were looking for?
They should’ve known and yet…
“You know…” They wiped their sweating hands onto their suit. “You always had a way with words.”
“I don’t seem to know what you’re talking about, Hero.”
They pouted slightly at the responses, “How do you not know? You’ve always called me… other things…” They trailed off. Just how long was Villain intending to keep them in this agonizing situation?
A laughter echoed which sent their head spiralling. Villain moved closer, their steps were quiet enough to match any predator. “I’m starting to think there’s something you want from me. I wonder what it is?~”
Hero tightened their lips. Maybe they should’ve kept their mouth shut after all. “I’m only asking a question.”
Villain circled them, still putting on their clueless face, “I can’t answer a question if you won’t make it clearer for me.” They shrugged. The enemy was no where in sight, though they could sense Villain stalking behind them.
A ghostly touch climbed up their spine. With their shoulders tense, Hero spun around to face Villain who was only inches from them. “W-what!?” They stammered.
“You always keep me waiting, Hero. Always guessing your motives.” From their expression Hero caught something change, “A never ending cycle of not knowing…”
They sighed, their heart still hammering in their chest, “Did I do something to upset you? To make you stop… with the terms of endearment?”
Lips curled slowly upwards at their questions. “Oh. So you did like them after all.” They chuckled warmly. “Did you enjoy having cute pet names?”
Hero took several steps back, “What? No!”
“Alright. Then I guess there shouldn’t be a problem then if I stop—”
“No, don’t!” It came out unexpectedly from them. It was enough to make Villain’s eyes go wide, and the air to grow thicker.
Their thoughts tugged at them again, they didn’t want Villain to just stop but they also hated to admit they loved it.
“So you don’t want me to stop? Why?” They chuckled.
Damn it. Villain knew exactly what they were doing.
Their mind fumbled to grab the words they needed to play it all naturally.
“Why? Because uhm…”
“C’mon. I know you can say it for me~”
They nervously tapped their foot to the ground, “Fine…” They said through clenched teeth, “I liked it.”
“You mean you loved it, right?”
They nodded.
Their nemesis’ laughter didn’t stop though, it only increased from there. Villain always went overboard with their teasing. “You loved what?” They leaned in closer.
Their hands tightened into a fist this time, eyes shut as their head hung low. It felt so shameful and exhausting to keep this up. “I loved it when… you call me… your love.”
“Aww… so you aren’t as heartless as it seems” Villain lifted Hero’s chin and brushed the hair from their face, “That’s all I needed to hear from you, my little dove.”
Oh, and there it was again. That satisfying tingle against their skin. That rush of dopamine and excitement.
Villain sensed their change in mood and smiled confidently, “You really take advantage of these pet names, don’t you?”
“Only from you.” Their head tilted into Villain’s palm.
