The Infinity Wall: A Modern Mirage by @MegavisionArts

What happens when old-world Sunni tradition and new-world art and technology meet up in the middle of the Qatari desert? In this case, it was a perfect marriage -- or at least the beginning of a wedding -- which was the reason behind the creation of a stunning 3D video projection, dubbed “The Infinity wall.” Entrance to royal weddings in Qatar are always large statements of one kind or another. In this case the royal family was very modern and tuned into the art world. The event planner, Fahad Signature suggested video mapping and the rest fell into place … fast. With only three weeks lead time, he contacted David Corwin, owner of MegaVision Arts in Santa Monica, California, a premier designer in the world of 3D video projection. “We were asked to design a piece for a 30-foot-high-360-foot-long fabric wall that would cover the entrance to a massive 53,000-square-foot tent,” Corwin says. “It’s one of those projects that every designer dreams about.” In no time, Corwin and producer Amber Bollinger, had assembled a world-class team of artists, designers and technicians and set up a temporary design and animation studio in a Doha hotel conference room. Working around the clock, the team produced a piece of work that perfectly summed up the concept of love, art, marriage and the desert – infinity.

For each ID we made an abstract sculpture representing the content of Discovery which changes, finding a new meaning when changing perspective.
