Dc x dp idea 14
I always pictured Danny as liking galas. Not cause he enjoys the atmosphere but because he can cause subtle chaos. Then one time it’s not subtle at all.
Jack forces Danny to go events with Vlad. Danny just makes subtle remarks to Vlads peers about his bad practices.
Hinting towards how his wealth was massed odly and suddenly. Pointing out things that just went missing and suddenly one day Vlad just had. Overall each event he goes to Vlad looks worse and worse.
Danny has hinted to him being forced to be at event. That he doesn’t like being called little badger. He’s also getting the inside scope on new tech and ideas by playing dumb. Tucker is taking advantage of the inside info.
So there is a huge gala going to happen in Gotham. The masons and vlad are both going to be in attendance. Obviously this means Danny is getting forced into it same as Sam.
Now sam openly causes problems at the gala. Like standing on a table screaming about animal rights or something. She’s an activist she would so do it. Just imagine Damian joining in. He doesn’t like the galas either after all.
Both sam and danny snuck in reporters. Danny did it to ensure sam would never have to go to another gala. He could use them for his fun as well.
Dick is on a chandelier now to add more chaos. Jason is having the time of his life watching it all unfold.
So Danny just “unknowingly” talking to the reporters about vlad. He also starts talking about the masons. Vlad got distracted talking to another rich person he was planning to rob.
Tim assumes Danny doesn’t know he’s talking bad mouthing ti reporters and goes up to him. Danny is just like dude let me trash talk the fruitloop. When Tim subtle pulls him off to the side.
Danny “accidentally” reveals that vlad is trying to kill his father, marry his mom and adopt him. He is so used to people not believing him why would this rando.
So on top of making a gala a madhouse now the bats are investigating Vlad. Not that Danny realizes until the bats show up in amity.

DCXDP prompt
Ok, so there's plenty of Danny laying low or freaking out about the no meta rule, but I have this CRAVING of someone for once just explaining it to him? Like whoever bird or birds he's talking to just leans in and whispers "Wanna know a secret? That's mostly just a mind control precaution. I mean would you want to see Supes jacked up on fear gas? If the league do come over he prefers to be called first so he's close if something happens."
Danny- "Oh... yeah that makes sense actually, that shit isn't fun to be under.."
"Wait is THAT why you have that string of robberies on your record?!"
"That and the time my whole town got possessed in order to make me look bad and get arrested.."
The bird then drags Danny into the cave to open Bruce's file on him, and they both sit down and fill in the gaps on the shadier spots of his record. Heck Danny eventually gives Bats a few thermoses and other less harmful but still disabling device blueprints to add to the contingency file cause even if Dan is in therapy and on probation he knows his shit luck will probably make it needed sooner rather than later and he knows how fast it will go bad.
It comes in very handy at the next gala when Vlad attempts to have a duplicate overshadow Bruce who refuses to take his business propositions. Vlad gets nosey before Danny pulls up his king rights and makes vlad take an Oath (the magic binding kind) to not mess with Bruce or his family or reveal any of their super identities to anyone at all. Constantine is there beforehand to read over the contract and outthink any loopholes before vlad can take advantage of them.
Danny gives them samples of ecto-dejecto for medical emergencies, the Bat's keep them refreshed and in stock especally after they meet Ellie and hear about her stability problems. With help from Frostbite and Danny's ok they start working on a more reliable formula just for Ellie's sake.
Yes Jason is calmer around the halfas and he is slowly stabilizing enough form a proper core from it, (not an instant fix this time!) whether hes becoming a true halfa, more towards a remnant, or both they arent sure. But one night when the phantoms arent around Jason is having a bad time, reacting from something he was hit with during a fight. Tim just grabs one of the ecto-pens on a whim and it just flushes out the toxin so fast Jay passes out. When he wakes up his core has had a good growth spurt, its still not complete yet but he's beginning to get some minor abilities, the Phantom sibs start coaching him before it gets strong enough for Jason to turn completely intangible and if Jay starts complaining? Clockwork whisks them ALL up to the tower for a home movie night of Danny's greatest fails. Grampa has a collection, good and bad XD. Yes Danny is cringing in shame while eating Clockwork's ecto cookies but Jason is slowly starting to understand the importance of getting the basics right cause he does NOT want to accidentally sink completely under the ground without being able to get back out no thank you!!
What core type would he get anyway? Shadow's like Johnny because of the stealth perks? Earth to prevent being buried again? Would he have literature as a secondary obsession cause obviously he's gonna follow Danny into the family/protection category but since Danny also has a space obsession why not?
He puts Jazz's name in the list of superhero safe therapists, the fact she's already making waves at Arkam is only boosting her reputation. Especially once they read her paper on ghost obsessions and how sometimes they are comparable to hyper-fixations in autistics in the way they both satisfy and promote healthy growth for a ghosts physical and mental state but also how being deprived of them or forced to go against them can be severely harmful to their literal health.
And that was one thing the birds kept tripping on to understand whenever they needed to bench one of the halfas but they would end up just hovering around NEEDING to be helpful no mater how much they are told to go back to bed. They also get a whole new understanding on what happened to Dan cause yeah his whole timeline is based on loosing his family and retaliating out of grief.
So from then on the halfas are allowed to help with little tasks as long as they do not strain their recovery at all. Whenever Danny gets sickly and depressed they take him up to the watch tower, Ellie gets lessons in different languages so she can interact more when they let her join them on international trips, Jason gets set loose in a newly discovered bookstore when the manor's or Bab's library isn't enough, and Dan.. they're still figuring him out but he seems to enjoy wrecking little play city set ups and games where you play as the monster like Godzilla or Rampage along with general ghost sibling rough housing. (Lilo and Stitch is his favorite movie but you'd be hard pressed to get him to admit it,)
As for ships, definitely anger management. Jason becomes an unofficial fourth Phantom sib. Platonic everlasting trio cause Danny loves his friends and they will pet him like a cat for hours while his tail coils around them possessively like a giant snake and still make memes of it when he's grumpy. Brain dead is fun also, especially if Danny or the others are capable of Little Baby Man form and Tim has to fight Damian for cuddle rights! Bats has his usual girls but hey superman isn't that bad to hang around either.

Yizuki_Khonsu here! You said that I could message you about the Two-Ghost Motel (One of my favorite fics from you). I've read everything you've posted on tumblr too. My favorites have to be Something to Feel and Ghost!Robin Haunts Jason. Anyway, you offered to give me the deets about your sequel, so hit me!
The comment in question:
My first thought about Jason is one of the reasons he's almost a zombie when he first revives is because the motel took so much from him. He doesn't have enough memories to be present since the entity was eating them. And the reason the Pit brings them back is because the motel was made of that same in-between material Lazarus Water . Question: Does Jason remember what happened in the Motel? Does he remember Danny? Obviously Danny remembers him, but I don't know if he will remember Danny. Lots of angst potential there. I love all iterations of Danny and Jason interactions, platonic or otherwise, and you perfectly capture the sibling vibe with both of them. Also can't wait to see Vlad get punished for luring Ghosts to their End by directing them to the Motel. I bet he has a lot harder time getting lesser ghosts to work for/with him once the deal he made got out. Do Ghosts have a court system? Cause I want to see Vlad get arrested and put on Ghost trial.
I have no promise of a sequel, but I've definitely had sequel thoughts for Two Ghost Motel. So, if the time arises when I can finally revisit this universe, well, here's an idea of what you will see.
Again, under the cut for potential spoilers!
Does Jason remember? Not really. It'll be like a half-remembered dream. He remembers there being something when he was dead. And... a friend? But not the details.
He'll also sometimes feel like he should be able to do impossible things. Like fly or go through walls. But he's just a baseline human. And the lazarus pits don't give powers like that. So he shoves those thoughts to the side. And if he sometimes bangs into a wall when he expects to pass through it or shoots his grapple hook off a moment later than he should have? Well. It hasn't killed him yet.
And the reason the Pit brings them back is because the motel was made of that same in-between material
You got this spot on.
Vlad is a part I haven't fully planned out yet. (And one of the things I'll have to figure out before I go forward with a sequel.)
Anyway, I'm gonna spit ball on him for a sec. Ending a ghost is the worst thing you can do in Ghost culture (headcanon). So Vlad intentionally pushing other ghosts to a being that will End them? And then roping in innocent third parties into his scheme? (By spreading rumors that it's a good place to rest.) Oh, no one is happy.
He'll become a pariah (not The Pariah) among ghost kind. Instant attack on sight. Or, for those who aren't strong enough to attack, he'll be given the ghost equivalent of a Regency England Cut. Which is when you just refuse to acknowledge someone's presence. If they say hi to you, you turn aside and don't acknowledge them. If they come near you, you walk away. Just, total ostracization.
The only people he can get to work for him are the ones he can blackmail or threaten. And they all plan to betray him the first chance they get.
There's also some things I want to explore with the in-between creatures. The motel said that Danny and Vlad are both in-between beings like it is (was). And I want to explore that more. Danny is the only in-between creature to be stable. He was flooded with pure ectoplasm when the portal was opened. Vlad and the motel, however, did not experience that.
Part of their instability, just like the pit madness, is because they are creatures of the in-between. Think of Danny as balanced perfectly on the knife's edge. Vlad and the motel aren't. Vlad is more alive than Danny and the motel more dead. And that is part of why there's issues with them. The motel needs more ectoplasm but cannot make it itself. And the stuff from the Realms directly is too pure and is as poisonous to it as Lazarus Water is to ghosts. So it steals it from ghosts and converts it into something that isn't quite of Earth and isn't quite of the realms (lazarus water) and uses that.
Vlad uses the real stuff, but isn't as good at metabolizing it as Danny or a full ghost. So the ectoplasm is affecting him as much as he's affecting it. And ectoplasm does strange things when it comes in contact with living tissue.
So maybe instead of jail and destruction for Vlad, I'll go the route of "intensive medical care to correct a decades-long problem he's left untreated until it nearly destroyed him."
But that's also a much harder (and longer) plot line, so.... Who knows. Maybe I'll take the easy way out and develop a Ghostly Court. We've already got Ghost Jail and a Prison Warden!
I think that covers everything? Let me know if you have any other questions!

Okay so, just had a thought about Chaos Children: Do any of the UA students outside of 1A know that Himiko needs to ingest blood to transform?
Hm. 1-B probably knows, either through the fact that both classes are getting dragged together, or because they've overheard her and Vlad King talking and connected some dots.
I need to plan exactly how the Sports Fesival goes, but since she replaced Mineta she would at least make it into the Calvary Battle.
How much people see directly on her ingesting blood to transform is up in the air.
It might come out later with the whole thing of like. Her parents getting arrested. Because that's gonna make the general news and word of her Quirk and why her parents acted the way they did would get out, especially if there's a connection back to what happened with Saito.
Some people might dislike her/be wary of her because of it, but since 1-A has a bunch of feral bastards who see her as a friend, they know that trying to say shit about her within earshot is just asking to be blasted into next week.

So it's Christmas Eve and I've been having a think for a couple day so I'm gonna ramble for a little bit about my Mianite Anastasia AU.
A slight warning, this AU is gonna be a tiny bit a mess because this is gonna both be based on the animated film and the Broadway musical because I like the musical. So like it's gonna be a weird messy combo but like this is just a fun little AU mostly to get it out my own brain.
Backstory: There has been growing tensions between the God's and their followers have been growing tense. With the threats of the Shadows, as well as the Gods threatening each other, all the champions know something bad is looming just around the corner.
As a celebration occurs that's meant to be celebrating the unity of the people, the currently teenage champions of Mianite sit upstairs discussing the situation. Both Sonja and Tucker knew that things were bad, and that the celebration would be missing some people (notably Tom was never meant to be there, having business in his own home city), but none of Ianitees, not even Lady Ianite herself have turned up. Tucker is kind is annoyed by this, questioning why everyone seems to have given up on the Gods and unity, but Sonja is more sympathetic given the fact that the Gods typically spend more time bickering among themselves than actually helping anyone.
Before this can turn into an argument, the palace is attacked by Ianite, possessed by the Shadows, and her army. With the attackers quickly getting inside, Tucker and Sonja attempt to make their escape, but quickly find themselves hiding from soldiers inside Sonja's bedroom with no where to go. At this point, Capsize emerges through a hidden servants corridor causing some panic since, well, Ianitee dressed for combat. But then Capsize tells them that there aren't any soldiers the way she came and that there's a train leaving to the city where Tom is. Tucker questions why she's helping them, but doesn't get an answer as the soldiers start turning to break the door down. They escape with Capsize promising to stop anyone from following them.
On their way off the palace grounds, Sonja is grabbed by a creature made of Shadows. They manage to fight it off and seemingly kill it, but they're left shaken and running to the train station. They get there just as the train is leaving, crowded with those fleeing. Tucker manages to climb on, but Sonja loses her grip and ends up falling onto the tracks and falling unconscious.
That night, Mianite and Dianite were killed, along with most of their high-ranking followers. While Tucker escaped and was reunited with Tom, Sonja is presumed dead. The once united lands of the Gods became ruled by Ianite, though the places not originally United still remain.
Around a decade later in the city that was invaded so long ago, a rumor has reached the city that Sonja survived all those years ago and that Tucker is offering a cash reward for her safe return.
The Characters:
To start with the main character, Sonja is in the Anya role. Forgotten past, wants to discover who she is, all that jazz.
Capsize is Dimitri, having turned to bring a conartist after quickly disappearing on the night of the attack so what she did wasn't discovered.
Tucker is in the role of the Dowager Empress.
The Shadows are Rasputin.
Redbeard is in Vlad's role.
Tom is in the Sophie/Lily role, though I have no idea if him and Skipper have actually been in any kind of relationship.
And now Jordan. Jordan is mostly taking on the role of Gleb from the musical, chasing the main trio down with the orders to either arrest them or kill them. However, unlike the actual character, Jordan is reluctant to do the task because of Capsize (who he doesn't know is actually Capsize for quite a while, but looks a lot like his missing/possibly dead old friend/crush) and his final confrontation would be with her, where Capsize would also confess that she was the one that let Tucker and Sonja escape.
Obviously this isn't the most fleshed out, but Anastasia is just a little comfort media for me, especially for this time of year, so I wanted to just write a little of the AU I think about every so often.

Outer banks 1x04
I don't blame John B for not wanting to go into foster care.
"You're taking me away from him. Do you understand that?" I feel like Chase Stokes is an extremely underrated actor. The emotion he put into that line is perfect and it's not talked about enough.
"Yeet" never in my life have I talked to a person who uses that word in day-to-day conversation.
Listening to Topper complain about how his mom is so controlling but the truth of it is, she's tired of his goddamn bullshit and can't wait to get rid of him when he's finally off to college. On one hand can't blame her, on the other if she hadn't raised such an entitled little shit then he wouldn't be an asshole.
I have the biggest crush on JJ... (finally someone my age but we have daddy issues in common. Don't know which is worse Joel Miller who is in his fifties and has no problem calling out my daddy issues or JJ)
"Mad dogged me." I feel like that has a double meaning or maybe I'm just dirty-minded as fuck.
John B and Sarah are fucking cute...
Rafe really just makes me wanna run for the hills. Man is a walking, talking red flag that just reeks of toxicity. And honestly scares me. I've seen people compare him and JJ, uh in what world? JJ is fucking impulsive, but the difference is that JJ has people who actually give a fuck about him.
"Yeah, don't worry I'll sugar mama you." That was cute.
It's the fact that Vlad and Valerie are matching for me.
"If I never get out of the bubble wrap now, I never will." Relatable as fuck.
"Oh shit, i forgot it." LMFAO!! JJ, you had one job darlin.
"Take one more step, I'll rip that prepubescent face off." He has me on my knees... begging, pleading for what I don't know, but I know I want it.
Tumblr media
You know Topper and Rafe have the fucking nerve, the gumption, the gall to feel like victims.
JJ really got some good punches in on Kelce and then I realize the reason he can take those repeated punches from Rafe is because of Luke who apparently hits harder. And it's just heartbreaking.
It's really stupid that Topper pressed charges when he's attempted murder twice. Like we're just gonna look over that shit?
"You're totally ADD." I love how John B tries to deny it at first!
"JJ and Rafe are similiar." Yeah, with daddy issues. But Rafe would never take the fall for something he didn't do to keep his friend from being arrested and kissing a scholarship goodbye.
"Or your boyfriend with his frosted tips." The 90s & 2000s reference.
I kinda wish Sarah had broken up with Topper before kissing John B. Topper is a douchebag but no one deserves to be cheated on. EVER.

Ice-T has weighed in on the recent arrest and indictment of Duane “Keefe D” Davis in connection to the 1996 murder of late rap star Tupac Shakur. In an interview with AllHipHop, the West Coast rap legend gave his take on the latest development in the unsolved case, sharing his belief that Keffe D’s current legal troubles are of product of his own doing.“My initial thought was ‘people talk too much,’” Ice-T said, referring to interviews Davis had done with DJ Vlad, Art of Dialogue, and other platforms in recent years. He also questioned why Keefe D had not been apprehended prior to the arrest given authorities’ knowledge of his involvement.“I think L.A. knew exactly how this thing played out, I just don’t really understand why it took law enforcement so long, because if I say that I’m in a car with somebody that does something, I’m part of the crime. If I go over to your house and ask you for a gun and you give it to me and I go do it, you aided and abetted the crime,” he added.Ice-T speaks on the Keynote Q&A: Ice-T panel onstage during IEBA 2017 Conference on October 15, 2017 in Nashville, Tennessee. The 65-year-old continued to blame Davis’ arrest and indictment on being too forthcoming about his connection to the death of Shakur, who was long believed to have been murdered by Davis’ nephew Orlando Anderson in a drive-by shooting following an altercation in Las Vegas. Shakur, who was shot multiple times on Sept. 7, 1996, ultimately succumbed to his injuries six days later on Sept. 13, 1996.“So my point is that with all the interviews and all the books where dude just happened to say it 100 times on interviews he did. ‘I was in the car.’ He said it. No one else said it. He said it. So why? Why? Why would you say that if you didn’t want to get caught? So you know, I got no love for dude. It was a chain of events that should not have ever happened. It’s all out of my realm of understanding,” he reasoned. The veteran actor concluded that the reputed gang member will likely die behind bars and that Davis’ own statements has made the prosecution’s job easier. “He names everybody else in the car,” Ice-T said “And now he’s basically dead. He’s gonna spend the rest of his life in prison all by his own hand. You don’t even need anybody to testify.”Last month, Davis was arrested by Las Vegas Police after he was indicted by a Nevada grand jury on one count of murder with a deadly weapon. According to the Associated Press, if convicted, Davis could receive up to 20 additional years due to a sentencing enhancement predicated on his admitted gang activity. Law enforcement has not fingered Davis as being the gunman in the shooting, but say they believe he “orchestrated the plan that was carried out.”Watch Keefe D speak on the murder of Tupac Shakur below.[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3uoB8zvLdI[/embed]More from VIBE.comClick here to read the full article.

(For Payday muses) Who would / do they believe without question?, Who have they forgotten about that remembers them very well?, What’s a simple daily activity / motion that they mess up often?
Not gonna link the meme cause I'm a wee bit overwhelmed lol
Tumblr media
Who would / do they believe without question?
It really depends on the matter at hand. Vlad has lived too long to trust any one person on every matter, having a keen understanding that nobody will ever have perfect information even if they truly mean well. That being said here's a couple topics.
Threats to the Kings as a group: The Elephant & The Dentist, while they've had a severe falling out when it comes to personal trust and goals he understands that were there a threat to all of them, all of them would act in their own best interests up to and including working together.
Judgement upon his actions: His watcher, he's probably the only one who actually takes their original purpose seriously. While he'll undercut them for the stake of his own benefit they have the best chance at talking sense into him when he starts to go too far.
Who have they forgotten about that remembers them very well?
Honestly most of the people he worked with before getting arrested that weren't involved in his double crossing. He's long since relegated his memories of that into the unimportant pile meanwhile they are still kinda terrified he's gonna show up and ruin their lives or kill them too.
What’s a simple daily activity / motion that they mess up often?
Touch screens, he does not do well with touch screens at all. The tactile element is important to him when it comes to pretty much everything so he finds them just too "floaty" to make good use of. For that reason he has stuck with flip phones and laptops when he needs to use electronics, though any personal notes are just kept in a notebook.

Glenya penpal AU 3/3
This is gonna be a super long post, so beware!
I also wrote this like, at March or sth?might not make too much sense
-The question of " how on earth are they going to get 4 train tickets" finally arrived. The risk of having Anya arrested for treason turns a question into a huge fight. Gleb left at dawn after the fight/planned to get them some tickets by sneaking in as a soldier.
*Cue he sings the Neva Flows to Dmitry and makes the conman promise he would PROTECT Anya at any cost before they reunited on the train to Paris*
-The squad goes on with their plan of getting on the train with fake IDs and tickets. As Gleb predicted before he left, there are soldiers checking IDs on the train. A group of soldiers starts to enter every cart for ticket inspections.
-A random soldier eventually entered their cart. The squad watches the man lock the cart as he closes the thin, cheaply-made wooden door.
Vlad stares at the other two with shock as they walk up to the *soldier* with a smirk on their face.
-cue sth like:
"How can you guys NEVER told me this part of the plan?"
"Well, it was CLEARLY Gleb."
"NO, IT WAS ONLY CLEAR TO YOU ANYA"
"Come on Vlad- Just let him have some fun!"
-They arrived at Sophie's place soon after. What awaiting them was not a tricky list of questions but an awkward reunion.
-Sophie opens the door, prepared to meet someone who brought her another so-called princess and grand duchess Anastasia.
The former countess froze for a second when she recognized Vlad, and the young man standing right next to him.
"-Vlad, how did you find him?"
"Him? the guy who traveled with Anastaisa here? What's special about him?"
"I-"
"Sophie?"
"Gleb? Is that you? You- "
"Sophie! "
" Okay, yes. Let's get y'all settled before doing- this."
-(random headcanon for this au)
Sophie remembers Gleb cause he was like the son she never had. Yes, taking care of a teenager for a night is one thing. But helping a young kid settles down as the playmate/ guard of the princess is another thing. She taught him how to speak and understand how the Romanov talks. How to eat properly. How to hide his accent. And even remembering everyone’s name. Normally, Sophie starts to treat this boy who has a strong desire to learn with a little too much care. Up till the day the raid happened, Sophie told him how to escape before she followed Dowager out of the palace.
“Protect the princess Gleb, you are and will be the only one she has left-”
“I will ma’am. I PROMISE I WILL. “
-They settled in at Sophie’s place as she instructed. Well, they have nowhere else to stay before visiting their dear Grandnanapaying their dear Grandnana a visit. The countess is more than just exciting to see people she had missed again. Different from what the squad expected, the Countess is convinced that they brought the real grand duchess to her.
“You are not asking any questions? But I thought-”
“I trust Gleb and his hard work. He had fulfilled his promise when we departed. Why would I not believe him when he brings the princess back to us? ”
“Gleb? What did she mean by that?”
“You did not tell them about what happened to-?”
-And yes the Paris holds the key shopping scene with Sophie bringing all of them to the mall. Gleb still in his grey suit, but a lot more fashionable with his hairstyle and choice of material. And both Dmitry and Gleb gasp out loud when they see Anya in her new gown. They spent way too much time buying new outfits that would help them fit in with this fast phase city.
“How are we ever going to pay you back, ma’am?”
“The greatest gift I received tonight is being able to see you again, son. NOW LET ME BUY YOU AN EXTRA SET OF SUIT-”
“SOPHIE NO.”
-It took Sophie last than a minute to believe that Anya is the duchess they have been searching for. But she warns them the Empress has lost all hope of finding her a couple of years ago. Approaching the Empress directly would only get them banned from ever getting close to her estate. So they need to come up with a plan to let the empress finds them instead. They planned every little factor out, even having a car prepared if the reaction of the Empress is to- arrest them on sight.
-Then the Quartet at the Ballet scene happens. Instead of singing about arresting Anya or not, Gleb sings and thinks about what should he be doing after Anya gets back with her family. Is his job done after Anya reunited with the empress? Is it his place to stay by her side after all these? *cue Gleb being in an existential crisis for a 3-hour Ballet*
-The Empress saw Anya. She recognized her and saw all the resemblance from the young girl she once loved deary. The granddaughter she searched year after year without a trace. Only the imposters, the scammer, and all the con-men trying to collect the price she offers- this is not going to be the night of he getting played again.
- The squad was filled with excitement when Empress approches them. All of them thought their dear grandnana is going to reclaim Anya. But instead of a teary reunion, the Empress tells them to stop scamming an old woman like her. And there’s no way her granddaughter had survived the raid.
Gleb walks up to the Empress right after Dmitry stops her from leaving. She only looks up to him for a moment before her guards try to push them away.
“I bring her back to you, like what you wanted. Why are you not giving her a chance? “
“ Stop fooling yourself, young man. I don’t know where did you find this gullible young woman. But Mr.Vaganov, she is not, and never will be my granddaughter. “
-Anya heard everything her supposed-grandnana said to Gleb. And it- only brings up a wave of question inside her. She has so many questions to ask, alongside a horrible headache being triggered by a strong set of strange feelings. Therefore she practically runs out of the ballroom. Everything happens in a matter of seconds. After exchanging a quick look, they split up to convince both parties to give it a try, again before it’s too late.
-A moment later, Gleb finds Anya sobbing under a table. Covered with a heavy table cloth that made it looks- almost like a small tent. The ex-guard squeezes himself into the tiny space to talk to his confused and upset friend.
Anya soon starts to bombs him with a long chain of questions that he doesn’t have an answer to.
“Who AM I Gleb? Do you really believe I’m a royal? How can you lie to me like that after everything we been through?”
“Because I know you ARE her. And you have always been the princess since- the day we met.”
“The day we met? How can a camping story prove anything?”
“Well, I, left out a lot of detail when I told you that story last time.”
“You w h a t ?”
- Gleb eventually told her the /real/ story of how they met. From how her father shook both him and his father’s hand to the nights they spent watching stars. And the fact they started to exchange letters for a long while till the day she invited him to stay as her guard. He shortened these stories again- but this time he did not leave out anything that’s important for Anya to understand the full picture.
- They spent a couple more moments under the table cloth till Vlad finally found them. He rushes them to get back to Sophie’s place like what they had planned if The Empress refuses to recognize Anya.
*cue Dmitry convinced the empress to at least give try to talk to Anya seriously before making a decision she would regret. And the reprise of Once Upon a December*.
**here’s some aftermaths that might happen in this au**
-Gleb asks Empress to not release any information about finding the lost princess. Since he knows Cheka would not ignore this news/let them pass without trying anything. So the press conference song will be replaced by the final.
- Gleb and Anya travel back to the campsite and watch the stars again.
-They travel back to St.Petersburg to visit Dmitry. The trio later goes on a lot of trips and picnics together.
-Glenya confession later? y e a h definitely will happen if I have the energy to write something about it-

Humanity
Upon their arrest by the GIW together, Valerie learns something interesting about Phantom and herself that make her question just how human both herself and Phantom are.
note that this isn’t a phic phight thing, just something i wrote literally months ago for Lexx but forgot that i wrote
on FFN and AO3
----------------
They didn't even have the decency to arrest her before Mr. Lancer's class. Being arrested for...well, the Guys in White were never really clear as to why they showed up to Casper High to arrest her. But whatever the reason, that would have been one hell of an excuse as to why she was not just missing, but why she couldn't turn in that book report that she not only didn't do, but hadn't even read a single page of yet. Valerie had an inkling she knew why, but she remained completely silent the entire march out the front doors of the school. She wasn't an idiot after all.
The agent to her left opened the door, and the agent to her right put his hand on her head to duck her into the white SUV. The door closed, and Valerie glanced to see just how tinted the windows were, as well as the police-style framing of the windows and the separation between the driver and passenger as well as the backseat dwellers.
"Oh, I was wondering why we stopped here."
That familiar voice made her jump, and she turned to see Phantom. He was in the exact same predicament. Hands behind his back, leaning against the seat, though she could immediately tell that his handcuffs were much clunkier and glowed. Obviously anti-ghost.
"You!" Valerie hissed. She immediately leaned into the window, lifting her leg up, and she began to kick him repeatedly. "What the hell are you doing here!?"
"Ow!" Phantom hissed as she got him in the shoulder, and then his rib. She didn't stop, and she didn't miss. "AH! Fuck, stop it! OW!"
"Knock it off!" one of the agents boomed. The sudden, strict tone made Valerie pause. She kicked him one more time, square in the face, before finally stopping.
Phantom made a weird wheezing noise, and she saw him shift to rub his nose on his upper arm and shoulder. He frowned.
"My nose is bleeding," he complained.
"I hope your nose is broken!" Valerie snapped back at him.
Phantom glared at her. He made a weird noise in his throat, and it took Valerie a moment to realize what he was doing. Preparing spit. And indeed, the ghost teen stuck his tongue out, drool instantly dripping, and he leaned in. Valerie instantly leaned away from him.
"Ew! Gross! Get away from me!" she complained.
"Nu-uh!" Phantom replied, his tongue still out as he continued to scoot. He got close enough to open his mouth, and some of his saliva dripped onto her knee.
"Gross, gross, gross!" she shrieked. Valerie kicked him in the side, and Phantom let out a pained wheeze.
"Knock. It. Off," the other agent snapped at them. They had gotten into the driver and passenger's seat, and both were glaring at them.
"She started it!" Phantom accused. The driver frowned at him, obviously not amused. Phantom scooted back to his side of the backseat. Valerie stayed pressed against the window and door. She could hear the drive mutter something about hating kids before turning the vehicle on, and they drove off.
--------------------------
They made the duo sit in the interrogation room for three hours, according to the clock. They had, thankfully, just connected the teenagers to the table via a long chain and handcuffs, so that they could at least be a bit more comfortable, even though Phantom, and for some reason her, were both given anti-ghost bracelets to wear. A box of tissues were also tossed onto the table, and Phantom had spent the first half hour tending to his bloodied nose. He stuffed all the used tissues, grossly, into his pocket, though she suspected why he did that. It had his DNA on it.
Phantom nor her attempted conversation. Neither were stupid. They essentially stared at each other and the walls, their only words were occasional out-loud wondering of when somebody was going to show up to question them already.
Obviously her more pressing question was why the hell they were still together. For some reason, Phantom was with her every step of the way of their weird little field trip. They got escorted in together, processed together, and now were sat at the exact same interrogation table. Why? She had absolutely no idea. Didn't they normally separate people they arrested?
At exactly 6:38 PM, somebody finally opened the door, and she and Phantom sat straight up.
The agent that sat before them was a large man, muscular and tall with big hands and sunglasses that fully blocked any chance of the teens from seeing what he was looking at.
"We know you're both half-ghost."
Valerie's mind instantly went to Vlad. That must have been what he was...she had been debating with herself for weeks now as to what he was. A ghost disguised as a human? A human who had ghost powers?
She pushed those aside to look at Phantom. To her surprise, he was pale. Nearly as white as his hair, with anxiety sweat drops beginning to form. Her interest peaked instantly. Silence hung in the air. The man said nothing, simply keeping his attention intensely on them. Valerie
"That's ridiculous," Valerie finally said something. She nearly added that the entire idea itself was ridiculous too. Well, it kind of was. It was so weird to grasp, but it wasn't really something that she wanted to think too hard about these days, and especially now. There was nothing more that she'd love to do than to throw that manipulative old bastard under the weird half-ghost freak bus. However, not only was it probably not a good idea to start beef with a literal superpowered-villain billionaire...but Dani was still out there.
"Don't lie to me." The man sounded agitated. "Both of your ectoplasmic readings are abnormal."
Ectoplasmic reading? Her? Valerie stared at him as if he had grown a second head.
"I shouldn't have any ectoplasmic reading," she pointed out. "I'm alive. Alive people don't have ectoplasmic readings."
The man opened up his folder, pulling out a few choice pieces of papers to slide her way. Phantom silently watched them, his eyes wide and his face looking utterly blank yet...so fearful. Valerie opted to ignore him for a while, accepting the papers to hold as she read through them.
She was familiar with how to read ectoplasmic readings, charts and monitors by now. Green eyes scanned the data, frowning in confusion as she checked the details, and she could see out of the corner of her eye Phantom leaning in to read too. She adjusted her position so that he couldn't.
This description was definitely her, and...she was giving off ectoplasmic readings. Not really in the same way as a normal ghost; there was something distinctively different about hers that any set of trained eyes could pick up on. But how?
"I don't understand," Valerie spoke slowly. "I'm alive." She put the documents back down on the table. "You can take a swap or slap some ghost goop stuff on me. Hell, prick my finger." Valerie held her palm out to the man. Her anti-ghost bracelet sparkled a bit in the light of the room. At least she now knew why they made her wear the bracelets too. "I'm not dead."
The interviewer stared intently at her hand. He gave a neutral hum of acknowledgement, swooping the papers back up.
"Testing and experiments will be reserved for a later time," he replied. Valerie got instant goosebumps. Testing and experiments? "Maybe a few hours in holding will help you realize why you should just come clean to us."
"Can I get some water first?" Valerie asked. The agent snorted in amusement as he stood up.
"Ghosts don't eat or drink."
She felt numb, and she had no idea how to respond to that. Two more agents came into the room, and they silently took the teenagers further into the building until they reached a door. The third agent opened it, and Phantom and Valerie were ushered inside.
The room almost immediately led into bars, and the first thing Valerie could think of was just how much it looked like jail. Two uncomfortable looking bunk beds on either side, a toilet in the middle, a small sink, and no windows. The light was dim, and the room was cold.
Phantom was pushed in first, and then Valerie, and the bars clunked as they closed. She turned to see the bars begin to glow as the bars were locked.
And there was no goodbyes. The agents were eerily silent as they filed out, and the door was shut behind them. She could hear the faint click as it also locked.
Valerie turned to see Phantom's reaction, and he still looked shaken and pale. She already suspected the answer, but she needed to hear it.
"So...are you?" Valerie asked.
"No!" Phantom's answer was way too quick. "What about you? Don't you hate ghosts?"
"I'm not half ghost!" she snapped back. "I have no clue why they'd think that."
Phantom studied her for a moment. His eyes lit up.
"Your suit!" he declared. "The one Technus gave you. It must make your reading wonky."
The second he reminded her, she felt a cold shiver. Suddenly her heartbeat felt off, and she assumed she was colder than usual because of...ya know. That couldn't be true. It had to be wonky readings. The suit was so nice...so much nicer than the suit that she had made herself. It was so much more powerful, so much nicer, just flat out cooler.
She put her heart over her chest. She still had a heartbeat, right?
"What's your excuse?" she asked. Phantom didn't say anything. He turned his attention to the wall, staring blankly at it.
"...Why would they let us stay trapped in here together?" Phantom changed the subject. Valerie narrowed her eyes at him, but she had to admit. It was a good point. "Especially knowing that we'd just plot our escape together."
"Pump the breaks, Phantom. I'm not escaping," Valerie scoffed. "They'll realize their mistake and just let me go."
"Well, they're not gonna let me go," Phantom frowned. "The Guys in White don't exactly play nice with ghosts. And I'm not leaving without you."
"Not my problem," Valerie replied. She raised an eyebrow at him. "Unless...of course there's a reason for it to be my problem."
"You can't just do it out of the kindness of your heart?" Phantom sounded sarcastic, despite staring at her desperately. Valerie crossed her arms. "Please?"
"Give me one good reason to escape with you."
And thus began a staring contest. Phantom shifted from foot to foot, and he glanced at the floor. A lightbulb made the realization click. The GIW knew her identity. They arrested her at school. But they didn't know Phantom's. Nobody probably did. This was likely a ploy to get them to reveal themselves to each other. How or why, Valerie wasn't sure. But now it was glaringly obvious to her.
Phantom was half-ghost. Just like Dani. Just like Vlad. The Guys in White don't play nice with ghosts, and she had a strong feeling that they didn't care much about playing nice with humans either. Especially if they suspected that there was ghost within them.
"Nevermind," Valerie sighed. Phantom stared at her, and he...looked scared. "I can destroy ghosts…" But I really can't take part in destroying a human.
Phantom grew a bit pale again, as they both knew the unspoken words. He took a deep, shaky breath. His reaction was all she needed to know, that this wasn't some weird lie or ploy.
"So. What's our game plan?" he asked.
Valerie studied their surroundings. She reached out to touch the bars of their shared cell, taking immediate note that she wasn't shocked.
"Well, obviously there's that big shield outside," Valerie lightly mused.
"I can get past that shield," Phantom spoke up. "Under the...right circumstances."
Valerie nodded. If Phantom was able to turn human away from the prying eyes of cameras and more, they could both obviously escape right out the front door. Hell, they could likely utilize both Phantom and his? Human? Side? Whatever he was called.
"This facility was designed for ghosts, not humans," Phantom continued. "If we worked together, we can probably make a quick exit." Valerie hummed in agreement.
"That's not just enough," Valerie replied. "I'll just get arrested again. They know who I am. Like, they know Valerie Gray is the huntress." Phantom frowned, and he thought for a moment.
"We could maybe delete their evidence files or something?" he suggested. Valerie paced their cell for a moment.
"There has to be some kind of computer security room somewhere," Valerie spoke aloud to herself. "If we can find it, we can probably wipe evidence and also fully take down the shield."
Phantom leaned against the back wall of the cell.
"I don't think that's enough," he replied. Valerie stopped pacing to stare at him. "We need to make sure the Guys in White don't do this again. Ever. Never even have the chance to get to this point again." Valerie scowled.
"They help hunt ghosts!" she protested.
"And they'd consider Danielle a ghost and rip her to shreds," Phantom countered. The reminder of that little girl hit her straight in the gut. She sighed.
"I don't know," she said slowly.
"They're a government organization, they'll rebuild," Phantom pushed. "We just need to stall them long enough to buy time for us to figure out how to keep you, Danielle and I safe."
She hated it, but...yeah. She wasn't really in the best position either. Valerie had no clue what was going on with her, but the Guys in White were incredibly persistent...and she knew her dad wouldn't be able to afford a lawyer for her anymore.
Valerie held her wrist up. Her suit's bracelet was basically hidden underneath the anti-ghost one, but she could still feel it there. Her suit wasn't gone. She could still access it, and that made her feel more confident in that she was still human. Which she had to be. Right?
Valerie activated her suit, and she held her wrist up to read the screen. She pressed a few buttons.
"I think I can figure out a map of this place," she said. "And from there we can see where's what."
Her forearm glowed brightly as it gathered data. It took a few moments of calculating, but soon, she had her results. Phantom was soon peering over her shoulder, both of them studying the map.
"How accurate is this?" Phantom questioned.
"It tends to be fairly decent. Sometimes it's hit or miss with collapsed buildings, but overall it's spot on," she replied. She adjusted the screen, zooming it out. "I can only get the floor we're on though."
"That looks like it could be some kind of utility room," Phantom pointed to a specific room. Valerie zoomed in on it, studying it.
"Yeah," she said slowly. "Yeah. Gotta be. It's got a lot of power coming to or from there. Has to be a source, or at the very least some kind of major technology area."
"Either way, we should destroy it," Phantom said. Valerie frowned.
"I don't know," she hesitated.
"I mean, you can't even summon your powers."
Phantom glanced down at his wrists, glancing curiously at them before setting his sights on Valerie's arms.
"Can you shoot them off?" he asked.
Valerie tried to summon one of her weapons. She waited. And she waited. Nothing came, and her gut became queasy. She couldn't get her ghost weapon. None of them would summon. This had to be a bad sign. Or was it just the GIW prepared against humans too? That was the most logical explanation. She couldn't be…But also she could be...after all the ectoplasmic readings...
"Um, actually, I think I can…" Phantom's voice caused her to truly look at him again. The ghost was fiddling with his wristbands, using his knees to lock it in place as he attempted to slip his wrist through the band with no success.
"Here, let me try," Valerie interrupted him. Phantom glanced up at her.
"Can you shoot them?" he asked. Valerie forced a weak smile, but she held up a screwdriver.
"Got something even better. My travel tool kit," she replied. After too many breakdowns in the field, she had replaced a small pouch that previously held smoke bombs, something she rarely used, with a few small tools. It was easily one of the best choices she made.
Phantom held his wrist out to her, and she turned the bracelet around. Eventually she managed to pry a piece of the metallic covering off, exposing screws and a few wires. Valerie didn't undo or cut anything right away, both her and Phantom silently trying to make sense of the connection and mechanics behind it. Would really suck to find out the hard way that disconnecting a certain wire would trigger an alarm, after all.
"I think you shouldn't touch the red wire," Phantom lightly mused. "Pretty sure that's a power, and if you turn it off it'll be bad news."
"Mmm, yeah," Valerie agreed. "I think I can just unscrew this though, and we should just be careful to not slip the wires off."
Phantom nodded, and he waited patiently as she did just so. After twenty minutes of careful disconnecting, Phantom had two hands free, and he flexed his hands with a happy sigh.
"God, that just feels so much better," he told her. He motioned for her to hand him the screwdriver. "Here, I'll do yours." Valerie shook her head.
"I can't leave. I won't say anything if you escape, but they know my identity."
Phantom frowned.
"I'm not leaving you here. Come on, you saw your map. We can destroy their power. We can destroy this entire building," he began, only for Valerie to cut him off.
"And do more destruction? Is that all you think about?" she snapped. "You're safe. They know my identity. You want me to get more charges or something? I can't risk it. I'll just stay here. They'll figure out soon enough that I'm fully human." A full human who apparently had mixed logic as to whether or not they could use their ghost hunting suit. If she was fully human, she could summon those weapons, right? Unless it was specifically preventing any ghost weapon, regardless of the user, use it.
"Red, I don't think you understand," Phantom told her. "They're not going to go easy on you. Even if you prove you're human, they're not going to believe you. You heard them. They already denied you contact to the outside world."
That reminder sent a chill down her spine.
"Then tell my dad," she told him. Phantom stared at her. He began to unzip his suit, and she instantly began to look away. "Dude, what the hell?"
"Valerie, look at me," he demanded.
"You're naked!" she protested.
"I'm not naked, just look."
She decided to humor him with the intention of taking a quick peek. But when she saw him, she felt a cold sweat hit her. Phantom had only zipped enough to expose his chest, and there was a distinctive Y-patterned scar on his chest that stood out against the other scars.
"This is what happened last time I was trapped here. I'm not going to leave you alone here," he stated. He suddenly looked away, and he quickly zipped his suit back up. "There's no way in hell I'm going to risk this happening to you. Red, you need to come with me."
That urgent gut feeling of needing to go finally crashed into her. The GIW would never believe her. Not just because of stubbornness, but...Valerie herself wasn't even sure anymore.
She swallowed dryly, and she nodded. Her right wrist was offered to him.
"Do you know what to do?" she asked. Phantom scowled.
"I just watched you do it," he reminded her. She rolled her eyes, but held her wrist up for him, and a half hour later, she too, was free.
She wasn't sure if she was more concerned or relieved to instantly feel that distinctive rush of power back. The second Phantom removed her bracelet, she knew that she could summon any of her ghost weapons now at her fingertips. But she could still summon her suit regardless, and activate her GPS abilities. Was this normal? Valerie had no clue what this meant anymore.
"So, next step, I think we can escape through here."
Valerie looked up to see Phantom was now floating by the vent at the top of their cell. He was already using her screwdriver to undo the vent cover. She pulled her map back up on her forearm, glancing at it and studying it.
"I'm pretty sure the vent will go straight to that electric room," she told him.
"Oh, now you're finally seeing the big picture?" Phantom lightly teased, glancing over his shoulder as he popped the vent cover off. She nodded at him, but didn't crack a smile.
"...You and Dani may look just alike, but I never want you two to have matching scars," she said. Phantom's smile dropped, and he nodded in agreement.
He placed the vent covering on the top bunk, handing Valerie back her screwdriver. She slipped it back in it's pouch.
"Here, I'll give you a boost up," Phantom offered, pressing his hands together. She nodded, stepping a foot onto his hand. With ease, Phantom pushed her up, and she grabbed onto the vent, pulling herself in. It was surprisingly fairly roomy yet not, and she managed to get comfortable on her stomach, pulling her map back up.
"Ready to commit several federal crimes?" Phantom's voice half joked. She looked behind her the best she could to see the ghost right behind her. She snorted in amusement.
"Ready as I'll ever be," she replied. "Just follow me. It's time to give these idiots hell."
And hell they did. Who knew that the Guys in Whites headquarters could cause such a colorful explosion.

Yeah, forget side content, just gonna steam on ahead with the Sports Festival and onwards. I might not actually stop and start trying to do overarching plot stuff until ~chapter 100 (more specifically, post ch 97, the last chapter of the Kamino Arc) because then there will be enough material to actually like. Do stuff. Might also have something smaller after the Sports Festival since that’s ~chapter 50. Shrugs.
Anyways, onwards. Don’t you miss the days when the main trio of the series was Izuku, Tenya, and Ochako? Man, don’t I. :(
[No. 22 - That’s the Idea, Ochako!]
Tumblr media
Character sheet! I am honestly laughing super hard at everything because just. ‘Very Ochako.’ Thank you, Horikoshi. A few things about the sheet:
1) god I love that her fingerpads are called soft. Like. Actual cat paw pad fingers going on here. just imagine if you like pressed one of them like you do with cat paw pads and like, she had cat claws that would extend. cute but also menacing.
2) strong legs. leg day squad. her, izuku, and iida all doing leg day workouts together tho... katsuki wishes he had the leg strength of those three y'all
3) That quirk description… that’s not quite how centrifugal forces work, but I mean. Superhero comic physics. At least he made an attempt at explaining her quirk.
Tumblr media
Anyways, onto the actual chapter.
We open up in a staff meeting in a conference room at UA, with Tsukauchi presenting the results of the police investigations. He states that the one called Shigaraki has a quirk that allows him to disintegrate anything he touches. They (the police) have been through the list of men in their twenties and thirties in the quirk registry with no luck - and nothing turned up on the ‘warp gate’ user Kurogiri either. With neither registered, both using aliases, and no quirk records, they’re pretty much confirmed to be members of the underworld.
God sorry, I’m just distracted with the sheer size difference between Toshinori and Nedzu here.
Tumblr media
What the fuck. Why did you put the largest person in the room next to the smallest?
Whatever. Snipe surmises that they know next to nothing, but they need to learn fast, or the leader of the villains, Shigaraki, will heal up and be back again. Toshinori is thoughtful as he mulls over the use of ‘leader’, which Nedzu catches quickly and inquires into. Probably still heavily banking on Toshinori’s instincts here since he was technically right about his bad feeling about the USJ just two days before.
I mean, how it has to sting Nedzu that all his state of the art systems meant to keep out intruders and alert UA to situations on campus failed at the critical moment, while Toshinori’s instincts on something being wrong had been absolutely on point and, if Nedzu had let him go, might have solved the situation that much sooner.
(I mean, there’s arguments for what could have happened if All Might did arrive early, so. Shrugs.)
And so we get into the segment I like to fondly consider a prime example of the fact that yes, Toshinori does in fact have a 6/6 intelligence score for a reason.
He brings up how nothing about the situation feels normal. It was an especially daring attack - and not just in the meticulous planning! Shigaraki had started going on about some ridiculous ideology… and though he didn’t say anything about his own quirk, he couldn’t keep himself from bragging about the nomu’s quirk. And when things didn’t go his way? He threw a tantrum. Toshinori then admits with grit teeth and clenched fist that the business about quirks was meant to provoke him, and that it did hurt.
Tumblr media
Nedzu says that even so, it’s foolish for villains to reveal quirks in a battle against heroes and so waste the element of surprise.
Toshinori surmises his previous observations about Shigaraki - spouting a plausible yet deluded ideology, bragging about the toy he brought along, simple-mindedly assuming all would go his way. If they thought about how the attack was carried out, it seems clear that Shigaraki couldn’t hide his childish nature, the sense that he does what he wants, and then flat-out calls him a man-child.
Vlad King sums up Toshinori’s words as Shigaraki being a kid with too much power. Midnight adds on how Shigaraki might never have received general quirk counseling in elementary school; Vlad wonders whether that even matters.
Tsukauchi steps back into the conversation to give the rest of the arrest results - a total of 72 villains were apprehended at the USJ. He states that all of them were just back-alley thugs, but the question is why so many of them would agree to follow this ‘man-child.’ He points out that modern society is saturated with heroes, so small-time villains like them, who always get kicked around, might have been drawn in by that sort of pure, unaffected evil.
Tumblr media
Toshinori having a flashback here, though his expression… I wonder if he’s having doubts already. And honestly, that flashback bit has me wonder just how common ‘uncontrollable’ quirks really are… and what COUNTS as ‘uncontrollable’ in their society.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To avoid a longer derail, Tsukauchi finishes up by saying that thanks to the heroes, the police can focus on their investigation. They’ll expand their search and devote efforts to apprehending the perpetrators.
Nedzu finishes out the scene by musing over the use of ‘man-child,’ stating that in one way, Shigaraki is a lot like their students. He has potential to grow, if only he had a proper mentor to follow. It’s difficult to think about these things.
And so we shift scenes back over to 1a. I doubt this sports festival talk is happening at the same time as the staff meeting, if only because Aizawa should have been at said staff meeting. Or maybe he wasn’t supposed to be there at all and the homerooms were meant to handle themselves that morning? Wait, hold on-
Tumblr media
That clock reads 8:25. This is happening during the homeroom period, which means that the other classes are having independant homeroom. Which also means it’s no surprise that Aizawa isn’t at that meeting, because he’s busy hobbling to his class to announce the sports festival. He probably had to be caught up on the meeting stuff later.
Tumblr media
Anyways. The class is surprised over the announcement of the sports festival, someone calling it ‘totally ordinary’ while another (I think Mineta) questions whether Aizawa’s sure about this, since they just had that villain attack. Aizawa states that it’s necessary to demonstrate that UA’s crisis management protocols are sound - or that’s the thinking, anyways. There will be five times the police presence of previous years. Oh, and also the sports festival is the greatest opportunity the class will get. It’s not something that can be cancelled over a few villains.
Mineta (again?) asks if he’s sure about that, muttering about how it’s ‘just a stupid sports festival.’ Izuku seems completely horrified at the idea that Mineta might have never seen UA’s sports festival, which Mineta hastens to correct - he has, that’s not what he meant.
Tumblr media
I’m sorry just. That face. I can’t with this kid. Jdsjlgkd.
Also, we finally get to the page that had me double-take when I got to it because, well.
Tumblr media
So yeah, apparently the BNHA timeline didn’t have certain current events happened that would force the cancellation of the Olympics. (I mean, obviously Hori had no way of knowing the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo would be cancelled, but it’s still like a huge sign of how long this series has been running that this is here.)
Moving on, basically the above surmises for readers that the sports festival is as big an event to them as the Olympics are to us. So basically, super hype. Momo notes that all the nation’s top heroes will be watching and scouting. Kaminari adds on how the heroes will be looking to hire the hero students as sidekicks after they graduate. Jirou makes a cutting retort how a lot of those sidekicks never manage to go solo, stuck as sidekicks forever, before telling Kaminari that’ll be him.
Tumblr media
Shot through the heart.
(Also a total aside I just realized: current manga events likely mean there will be no sports festival for 2a. I mean, I would say the events happening there are large enough in scope that UA just doesn’t have the inclination or interest in broadcasting vital information the villains could use. And like, no scouting, no internships, no purpose for it.
And I mean, even if they did, would any of the kids even be able to focus on doing their best? God knows how stressed and nervous they all must be with how society is basically collapsing outside the school.)
Aizawa tells the class that they’ll gain valuable experience and popularity if they’re picked up by a big-name hero. However, their time is limited. They need to show the pros what they’re made of to make futures for themselves. This happens once a year, so they have three shots. If they want to be heroes, this is an event they can’t miss.
The whole class seems to be taking this seriously, but Izuku…
Tumblr media
Well, he doesn’t seem as enthused as expected.
Anyways, I’ll cut it there and leave the rest for next time, since there’s a time break in here anyways. It’s not quite halfway, but eh.

War of heartbreak (FINALE!!)
Aizawa didnt fight back when the officers arrested him. He did everything he was told and was taken to the jail. After 2 hours of being there, Mic was allowed to visit him.
"Hey sho...how you holding up?"
"Being here reminds me of the island...it also reminds me that I dont wanna go back."
"And you wont."
"You dont know that! For all we know that judge could look up and down at me, tell me im a villain and send me back without a second thought!"
"Thats not how it works here, Sho."
Aizawa sighed as the guard told mic his time was up. Mic gave aizawa a thumbs up and a weak smille as the guard closed the door and locked it.
3 hours later the guards told aizawa it was time, cuffed him and took him to a court room. People and news reporters were flooding the room with chatter. How did so many people hear about this?? The judge sat down and demanded order in the court. "Shouta aizawa, formerly known as underground pro hero: Eraserhead, correct?"
"Yes sir."
"Now before we get started I just wanna know, what were you doing during the wars 8 years ago?"
"I was fighting along side me friends."
"Who are?"
"Pro heros present mic, Midnight, all might, snipe, and vlad."
"Why not help the underground heroes? For your own beniefit?"
"No sir. The wars made me pick sides. And although I thought about not even fighting in the war I knew I had to. And if i did, I wanted to be right by my friends."
The judge nodded, shuffled through a few pages and gave it to the guards.
"So apperantly we have photo evidence of you before the war started. I have not see it yet I just know that we have it so guard can you project that imagie?
The guard nodded and soon a picture was on the wall. As the war was just about the begin, the picture showed both sides on the front line and there Aizawa was, on the pro heros side. Cameras flashes and shuttered and whispers filled the room. Aizawa looked back at mic who was crossing his fingers and whispering under his breath.
The judge hummed and flipped through the file. "Now Aizawa, why should I let you stay here with the Pro heros? I mean just because your own "people" hate you on your island doesnt mean that makes me feel pity for you. So why should we trust you?"
"Sir you have no reason to trust me. No one in this room does. And you could send me back to the island and leave me for dead and I wouldnt blame you. But I am a hero. Ive saved at least 10,000 people, ive stopped crimes, ive been kidnapped, tortured, questioned and Ive had a gun to my head more times then I can count. But no matter how many times I get shot, or stabbed, or punched, I will always want to be an offical pro hero. Not just an underground hero. And the only reason I became and underground hero, was because I dont like being in the spotlight. But its too late for that now. So forgive my language but screw it! Why not become a pro hero save a few thousand more lives and put my life on the line to support myself and hopefully.." aizawa looked back at mic with a soft smile, "a future family...So again, your honnor. You have no reason to trust me. But I will do ANYTHING, and I mean ANYTHING to gain the trust of everyone in this city if I must in order to stay here." Aizawa bowed his head and all the whispers stopped. Even a few reporters put their camera's down. Then a clap. Then a few more claps. Until the whole room was clapping for aizawa. People all around the city were now cheering for aizawa. His reasons were bold and true and everyone loved him for that. But what about the judge? The judge sighed.
"Now before I say anything I would like to point out that this man that stands before us all stayed in a jail cell for 5 HOURS and asked for nothing but 2 glasses of water. When guards put hands on him to arrest him, he did not resist. He did not curse. He did not struggle nor try to lie his way out. He listened and followed directions from the guards, giving them the utmost respect. And for a man who was almost beaten to death by guards and just well through hell and back, that is amazing. Now, youve given me only a few reasons why you should stay but..."
Smiles started fadding in the room and a woman even started tearing up. Mic put his face in his hands. After all that work, Aizawa would be send back to the island to be killed and mic would have broken a serious promise.
"But you have given me every reason to trust you. With that, I, Judge William, close the case of Shouta Aizawa: Eraserhead. Eraserhead is allowed to stay here in Japan with the pro heros and should be given the proper treatment, training, and respect as any other pro hero here, as of today, he is one." The case closed when the mallet slanned down. The room burts into cheers and aizawa's mouth and eyes were wide open. He couldnt believe it. All of a sudden mic jumped over and hugged aizawa. "YOU DID IT SHO! YOU DID IT!"
The prison guard forced mic back to his seat while another took the cuffs off aizawa. "Enjoy your new life Aizawa. Congratulous."
"Thank you, your honnor. I didnt expect this..."
As aizawa left walking next to mic, cameras flashed and he was flooded with questions. Mic was scared aizawa was gonna snap at them but he smiled and answered a few questions before leaving. Aizawa had changed not only his career but also his entire life. As he would become number 13 on the heros list (beating mic by 4 whole spots.), and even becoming a teacher to class 1-A, who basically fangirled over him. And that's how Aizawa become a legend in Japan history.

I like that the cop who does patrols at night to enforce the curfew in Bathory that didn't like Vlad was very indicative of what cops are like to punk and goth kids. I think it's funny, like this exhausted cop is driving around Bathory with his lights off trying to keep an eye out for people, and he doesn't catch Vlad out at night, but he just has a feeling that this is the sort of kid that breaks curfew. Mind you, the major reason for curfews in small towns is to cut down on people vandalizing things or teens having out of control parties.
Vlad isn't involved in these things, he breaks curfew to sit in an abandoned structure that no one cares for so that he can read in peace. I headcanon that it's easier for him to think without the noise created by people during the day, so sitting somewhere away from people at night is about as quiet as it gets. This is such a tame thing to do as a teenager. The fact that cops are suspicious of him is purely based on bias that he's a goth kid, but he's never done anything wrong, he's never been arrested or done anything illegal outside of breaking curfew, at least that Bathory's police are aware of. [We're all gonna ignore that time he committed assault and battery by beating Joss and the fake cops that were actually slayers bugged him about it, because I'm pretty sure it happened in Stokerton.]
Headcanon: Vlad absolutely bonded with the other goths over specifically being suspected of crimes by the police because they were goth. October and Kristoff also admit to the group that they vandalized stuff in Stokerton all the time because "the city needed sprucing up" and it's literally just them putting pride stickers and antifash stickers on benches and street signs and walls. Also if given a hammer or two they will destroy anti homeless architecture. Because it's ugly. Because they're punks.

-.-.-.-
Phantom was currently drifting on the Ghost zone trying to hunt down his next unsuspecting victim among the ghosts.
‘Oh, how the turn tables.’ the halfa chuckled.
Jazz had kept her word and after pulling an all-nighter they had come up with some interesting options.
Now he just needed to pull them off.
The sound of growling at his back made him freeze on his tracks. He turned around to look at the source of the sound.
“Oh,” Well, this certainly had not been on the plans. To stumble upon such a mighty beast this early on. He smiled. “Hi, Cujo!”
The happy barking that followed the greeting was rather endearing, normally whenever he crossed paths with the pup he would spare some time to play with him and teach him some tricks. After some months of the pup following him around and of the halfa trying to deny to anyone who would listen, especially Val, that the dog was not really his, Danny finally gave up and got him a new collar.
The little guy was quite spoiled nowadays.
Sadly, right now he was on a timeline.
“Sorry, bud. No playtime today, I’m on a rather tight schedule.” Phantom cooed softly, reaching down to briefly scratch behind the pup’s ears.
Cujo sat on his hind legs, paws in the air and tail wagging, effectively cutting off his path.
Not like he couldn’t try to fly around, mind you, but with a dog that could go gigamax on your ass, it was better to just talk your way out.
Just when Danny was about to open his mouth the pup upgraded to excited wiggling on the non-existent floor of the zone.
The halfa sighed to himself. Fond smile growing without his explicit permission.
“Cujo-” he tried, just to be interrupted again. “And there goes the whining, Oh. My. God.”
The boy covered his face with his hands, not daring to look until the sounds stopped completely. After a moment, he finally took a peek from between his fingers.
Sad, puppy dog eyes were looking up at him, small little whine making a comeback.
Fucking shit.
He was going soft.
-.-.-.-
“Match head.”
The sound of the nickname momentarily dragged Ember’s full attention from the tuning of her guitar to the new arrival.
“Baby Pop.” She took notice of the green puppy posing as a hat on the white-haired boy’s head and snorted, eyes going back to the guitar. “Blessed the eyes. You going Cruella on us now or what?”
“Please,” The boy jested. “Like we need a remasterized skulker around here.”
“At least the woman did it for fashion.” She hummed. “You would make a horrid carpet, you are too fucking skinny.”
“Excuse you, bitch.” Phantom shot back, irritation clear on his voice. Ember rejoiced on it.
She faked a gasp,“ Are you saying you want Skulky to make you into a rug, baby pop? Scandalous!”
“T-that’s not-!” the halfa spluttered before Ember cut him off.
“What do you want, cupcake? It’s not like you to venture so far into the Zone willingly unless you are looking for blood.” She questioned, carefully putting her guitar back in the case.
The boy huffed.
“Whatever, Ashley,” he grumbled under his breath. “I think it’s time we revisited the terms of our agreement ” The boy sat by her side nonchalantly, not noticing — or outright ignoring — the sudden rise in temperature as the girl’s blue hair flared violently, a deep frown marring her face.
Cujo did notice. But the little doggo was more distracted with the movement of the pretty light-emitting hair, and the fluffiness of the hair on his current method of transportation to register the imminent danger to his fur.
Priorities.
“Revisit? You want to fucking revisit?” She growled. “I will tell you what you can fucking revisit-!”
The halfa just laughed at her reaction. Ember’s hair doubled in length. The laughter died off.
Her hand was getting dangerously close to her guitar.
Danny swallowed hard, deciding to just get on with it before Ember tried to use the instrument as a wanna-be war hammer again.
“It’s quite the contrary, my dear flaming hot,” he rushed to appease her “I want to expand on it,” he said, throwing in a sickeningly sweet smile for good measure.
He hoped it was enough to regain her attention in a more positive light. He didn’t want to explain to Jazz why his ghost form’s eyebrows were singed off. Again. He didn’t have time for more lectures. Thank you.
Luckily, If the hair-inferno reducing to a cheerfully blazing bonfire and the growing smirk taking over ember’s face was any indication he had succeeded. Cujo whined for the loss. Danny wanted to squeal for the win.
He did not. But it was a very close thing.
“Oh ho, now we are talking, baby pop.”
-.-.-.-
The window of opportunity to pull this off was very small. He had to take into account the amount of time that had passed since the last fight, the reason for the aforementioned fight, and how much of an emotional investment the objective really held for it to be a proper detonator.
This operation required surgical precision, which meant a lot of preparation. And research.
It was a good thing it happened so often.
“I will be direct with you, sister,” Phantom spilled, sprawling himself on the free seat on Kitty’s right side. “your bitch boyfriend doesn’t know the jackpot he hit with you and that just ain’t gonna fly.”
knowing where Kitty would end up after a fight with Johnny was not a problem. tracking down which bar she was going to be crashing for the aftermath was the real problem.
Danny hadn’t even known there were bars in this place.
In the last months of his treaty with one Ember Mclain, he had learned plenty of- interesting facts about the Zone that he would prefer to forget. Not that he really had an option, Jazz had taught him early on that information on the enemy — and sometimes on friends —was a valuable asset to ensure victory.
So he would play dumb about knowing these things. But he would not forget about them.
Couldn’t afford to forget them.
If the Ghost Writer pulled another surprise quiz on him and the answers were less than perfect the man would riot.
The halfa stretched out a hand to take a menu and leaned his elbows against the bar-top. Cujo chose that moment to leave his position on the teen’s head to sit next to his forearm so he could peer at the menu too.
He skipped the drinks section and went straight to the food. There was no way he was getting any alcohol.
Don’t get him wrong. They would serve him whatever the fuck he wanted if he asked for it on the zone, but the teen had tasted it before and hated it with a passion. Fuck the peer pressure. Never again. Good for when you are sad? Bitch, just get ice cream. Maybe he should have asked Ember for Kitty’s favorite flavor and save himself the hassle. Oh well.
Too late now.
Danny chose his order but decided to risk a look at the drinks for non-alcoholic options while he waited for Cujo to paw at whatever he wanted.
Kitty, who had been spluttering and getting progressively redder since he made his entrance, was about to smack him upside the head because even if it was true the brat shouldn’t just go saying it like it was any of his goddamn business. They were in the middle of a crowded bar, these people didn’t need any more confirmation for her relationship problems. Couldn’t she keep some dignity?
Before her hand could connect though, a pair of arms surrounded her, bringing her firmly into a backward hug against a warm chest.
A very familiar warm chest.
Startled, she looked up to stare into fiery green eyes.
“Cool it kitten,” Ember purred, clad in a leather jacket that was, most likely, scammed off some unfortunate soul. Still. She looked damn good. Kitty got so tongue-tied she couldn’t manage to even begin to stutter a response, let alone a protest. Danny took advantage of Ember’s intervention to finally place his first order. “Babycakes is right.” Ember continued, effectively cutting off all the air from kitty’s sails once and for all, because really, Ember was her best friend and if there was anyone who knew exactly how many times Johnny and Kitty had fought it was the blue-haired girl.
Kitty let out a defeated sigh and wiggled a little on the embrace to settle into it properly. Might as well get the best out of this-
“Oh, they have frappes!” Phantom trilled in awe. Kitty twitched.
If only Phantom would go away. Ugh. She couldn’t deal with males right now.
“Can’t you leave that thing alone?” Hissed Ember, who had seen the teen open the conversation with her kitty kat just to completely ignore her right after in favor of the menu. The bitch boy needed to focus, they were supposed to be on a mission here.
“Hey! You were the one calling me skinny earlier!” Remarked the teen, only to get a raised eyebrow back from the rockstar.
“As if a single frappe is going to fix that. Give me that!” She sneered at him and snatched the laminated paper from his hands. Phantom tried to snatch it back and failed. So he resorted to pouting and tried to give her the sad puppy dog eyes.
It wasn’t going to work with the matchstick, he knew, but it was good practice.
To pull this shit with Ember you had to be either Kitty, Youngblood, or an honest-to-god puppy. He was not risking ticking off Kitty more than he already had. Youngblood was not here — for obvious reasons—. Cujo was here and didn’t hate him, but sadly the dog wouldn’t be any help right now.
The pup was already accepting belly rubs from the waiters and completely ignoring the world around him.
Again: Priorities.
So really, Danny was just doing this for the sake of being extra.
While Ember and Danny continued with their dramatic standoff, the other girl blinked rapidly and turned her head towards Phantom.
“Oh” Kitty’s bad mood banished almost magically in favor of curiously peering at the teen’s figure. Danny fidgeted on his seat apprehensively.“I hadn’t noticed. You are really lean.” Ember snickered. Cujo — coming back from the belly rub induced coma — barked. Phantom sighed and just accepted defeat.
“I suppose that’s somewhat better-” He grumbled under his breath.
Kitty allowed a tiny smile to escape from her lips but shook herself slightly to get back on track. “What are you two even doing here anyway?” She asked, alternating glances between them.
“Pretty sure you already know,” Ember answered, rubbing her cheek against kitty’s green hair and sending A Look at Phantom. “Because someone is not subtle. at. all.” She ended with a hiss and a flare of her hair. Kitty winced lightly at the confirmation. Phantom rolled his eyes.
“Oh, Cry me a table, matchstick.”
Kitty knew alright. Ember made it her personal business to get involved in whatever petty fight Kitty got into, more so if it was about Johnny.  Phantom getting involved in the aftermath — and not the fight itself — was new though.“It was just another stupid fight. And- You know, his obsession-”
“Nope. That’s no excuse, Kath.” Ember cut her off. “If you can work around yours for him, then so can he.”
“You can do better.” The teenage boy agreed while Ember continued squeezing her.
“What do you suggest then?”
Phantom and Ember exchanged a look, mirth flashing in their glowing green eyes and matching smirks growing bold, they turned to look back at Kitty. The green-haired girl gulped down her growing unease. In her experience, these two banding together was never a good thing for anyone.
“We are here to talk to you about the Remember Initiative.”
-.-.-.-
“Such a skinny boy!”
“Hey! I’m just lean-!” Phantom let out a yelp as he ducked under yet another juice box “What’s with you people and your obsession with my weight-! Ugh! If you would just listen-! Wait. Is that apple grape?” He said the last part in a hushed rush, looking in silent awe at one of the little juice boxes she was about to throw his way.
The Lunch Lady preened.
“Boxy got them for me! 100% Juice Fruit guaranteed!” She was radiating smugness about these facts.
“Oh my gosh- Wait! NO. That’s not what I came here for!” Danny managed to shake himself out of his stupor just in time to keep evading the Lady’s attempts to shove a spoon full of food down his throat while he was distracted with the juice.
The last time she had gotten a hold of him he had ended up feeling like one of his mom’s thanksgiving turkeys. Danny gulped. Best to just go for it and hope for the best.
“Did you know that there are 37.2 million people living in food-insecure households?!”
The screamed question froze the lunch lady on her tracks. At the look of horror his words achieved, he decided to keep going.
“1 in 6 American children don’t even know where their next meal is coming from.”
The lunch lady let out a horrified gasp, “Those poor children-!”
And with that, the woman exchanged her attempts at stuffing him for furious-but-mournful whisperings. She looked really constipated about this new information. Danny almost felt sad. Almost.
“There is a way to help, you know?”
The lunch lady’s head snapped back towards the half-ghost, eyes narrowed in a glare. Not the usual I’m-going-to-choke-your-skinny-ass-in-food glare, but an I’m-paying-attention-to-your-skinny-ass glare.
Danny refrained from openly cheering after sensing his upcoming victory. Better not chance it.
“Have you ever heard about old San Nicolas?”
-.-.-.-
“You know,” Danny murmured, slurping noisily from one of his juice boxes as he watched from a safe distance how Johnny and Skulker got wrecked by a pair of cute-murderous-girls, “I wasn’t expecting that to work so well.”
His only response was a pair of little barks from the green puppy that was happily squirming on his lap.
The boy paused on his watch to look down at Cujo. Danny extended one of his hands towards the puppy to carefully try to swat at him. The cub rolled onto his back and trapped Danny’s upcoming fingers between his paws with a playful growl, giving little nibbles to the appendage.
He couldn’t help the giddy giggles that escaped him.
Those little paws were precious.
At the sound of high pitched screams Danny’s head snapped back up to continue watching the ongoing smackdown, surrendering complete possession of his hand to Cujo to do as he pleased.
If the Initiative didn’t work out, both girls would do awesome on the wrestling circuit. Not like Ember lacked in the costume department.
Speaking of costumes, he wondered if the match stick would let him borrow her feathered hat. That thing was awesome.
Better just ask.
Once she was done throwing down with skulker, of course.
He was not about to become cannon fodder.
Priorities.
-.-.-.-
“Ahoy! me fellow comrades!! Your future Cap'n ’s talking!! I’m here on a recruiting mission to embark on the most perilous dangers of the Realms!! May ye, dear comrades, embark under your own risk! Arrrgh!! ”
Thanks to Youngblood’s presence the main residential area of Phantom’s keep was starting to become complete disarray. The adult ghosts were frantic for the possible kidnapping of the tiniest ghosts that was most likely going to happen. The children amongst them were cheering for the possible playtime in their future.
The guards were starting to panic. No one had seen the kid enter, much less bring along that enormous ship of his. The little brat was not supposed to be here!
“Who the freaking hell let Young Blood get in?!” One of the guards hollered.
“It’s fine, I invited him.” Came the cheerful reply from behind the guard. “I’m expanding the lair so the kids have more space to mess around. Just don’t tell them.”
The ghost was startled at the voice but didn’t panic anymore. Instead, they started to relax. They knew that voice, but they needed to confirm-
“P-Phantom?”
Phantom, in full cosplay and sporting the biggest feathered pirate hat on this side of the realms, landed lightly beside the startled ghost with a little chuckle, “Just play along, man.”
“Also, pretty sure there should be a ‘Lord’ in there somewhere.”
“I-I thought you preferred to not be called that, my lord?”
Phantom winced.
“Ah- No. It’s- You know what? Never mind, I keep forgetting you guys don’t really get updates of pop culture on this side of the coin” Phantom frowned. “I really should see about getting some wifi for this place”
He continued to murmur about the updates he would need to do to the tech to make that possible. But the guard was not paying attention to his words anymore.
They were staring speechless at the whole pirate get-up the halfa had managed to assemble. It had been mostly borrowed last minute — not that the guard knew that—. It looked really good. Especially the gold hoop earrings that kept swaying slightly alongside the fluffy white hair with every motion of Phantom’s head.
The guard let out a dreamy sigh.
Their Lord was so cute.
“How is everything going?”
“Wha-?” Getting suddenly pulled out of their daydreaming
“The preparations?” Danny hummed distractedly, diligently searching for his journal and pen among the numerous layers of clothing he had donned for the occasion. Why the fuck did this thing have so many pockets?
“Oh,” Came the ghost’s soft exclamation, suddenly remembering the requests the owner of the keep had left the last time he had come around. Finally emerging victorious from his search, Phantom turned to look at them, raising an eyebrow at the lack of proper explanation “Oh, yes! Everything is going smoothly, and we received the last confirmations this morning, sir.”
Danny smiled at the answer, completely unaware of the effect his playful smile had on the guard and the other ghosts that had started to converge there upon seeing their ‘landlord’. “Awesome.”
That was the last one.
-.-.-.-
Well, almost the last one.
He must admit that the shell shocked expressions on Sam and Tucker were funny the first few minutes.
But after having to repeat himself over and over again it had gotten increasingly less funny.
“Y-you are leaving?” Tucker stuttered.
Danny sighed, “Yes, we are leaving. As in, Jazz and me.”
After gaping at him for another few seconds, Sam finally gathered herself enough to start talking again.
“what about the ghost?”
“I- um- already took care of that,“ Danny mumbled, nervously avoiding eye contact while playing with his milkshake straw. “I also cashed in some debts and asked some favors from my allies, so most will be taken care of until we come back. Either way, I will leave enough Fenton Tech for the both of you and Val. Just in case.”
“Enough tech?” Sam repeated incredulously. “That’s it? Just leave some tech and jump boat just like that?” Danny frowned but refrained from answering her until he thought it through. Sam wouldn’t accept less.
Jump boat? That was not really the case. Jazz and he had really put some thought into this, heck even before the Internship on Loony Capital had come up — specifically, since Jazz’s breakthrough — the siblings had already been toying with ways to get some of the most persistent ghosts to back the fuck off, distract them with better and useful targets or entice them into submission.
At first, it had been a tentative thing, something fragile that they didn’t let themselves hope for. But with Jazz’s change of course of action, it had become something more urgent.
They had to pull it off. There were no other options.
Danny pursed his lips, then took a deep breath to strengthen himself for what was coming. “That’s not it-”
“You are just going to dump us.” She announced like it was final in a harsh whisper.
At least she was keeping her tone quiet.
“No one is getting dumped, Sam,” Danny tried to reassure her in the same tone of finality, sans the harshness. “I told you. We already thought this through. I already put some plans in motion and rigged some backups and- ok. Meaby they are not good enough to be permanent but-”
“You are going to put everyone at risk just because Jazz somehow got the ridiculous idea that ‘talking it out’ is the answer” She scoffed.
“Maybe it is. Maybe not. We won’t know until we try.”
“They are ghosts-”
“So am I.” Danny Interjected. Sam seemed to choke on her next words.
“You are not a ghost Danny.” She had, somehow, gained a tone even more quiet and harsh than her previous one.
“Aren’t I?” He was looking directly into her amethyst eyes. Daring her to fight him on this.
He already knew she wouldn’t.
She had opened her mouth to rebut but closed it immediately after. She took a long breath; most likely to prepare for her next rant than to calm herself. Weighing her options. She didn’t seem willing to have that particular conversation. Not yet. Danny had counted on that. “It’s still a goddamn risk.” She finally countered, a slight sliver of defeat coloring her words.
Maybe he had been a little harsh, but he needed her to understand. “There is risk in every choice I could make. This is not different-”
“What about us?”
Ok, so she was just getting her second wind. Fucking amazing. “Sam, please-”
“We are your friends!”
“And she is my sister!” He finally snapped.
She startled. Gazing at him speechless for a moment before standing up and storming out of her seat without a backward glance, making the people on her way part like the red sea. Leaving in her wake a bunch of curious persons staring after her and throwing shameless glances to their table.
So much for not causing a scene in the middle of the Nasty Burger.
The boys ignored the stares. They were already accustomed to being the focus of attention. Almost never positive, mind you. But that was what cleansings were for.
Tucker, who had been silent for most of the back and forth, finally spoke.
“She just needs time to cool off.”
The Fenton boy would be lying if he said he hadn’t seen this coming. Sam had always been very opinionated and believed herself to be right most of the time. In her defense, she usually was right and knew how to go about expressing it to her friends without resorting to this kind of standoff. This just appeared to have struck a nerve.
Living with her parents and having to fight for every single choice she wanted to make had left her on a constant defense mode that the boys had learned to navigate in their years of friendship. It hadn’t been easy for anyone. But neither Danny nor Tucker were perfect. They had their quirky shit to deal with.
The three of them stuck together and hadn’t bothered to try and expand their friend group that much over the years. Not like they had many options. But that was ok.
Until now.
With Danny leaving them the relative feeling of a support system was trembling at its foundation.
She was probably scared. So was Tucker if the wobbly but sincere smile he was giving him was any indication.
Danny had to admit that when he let himself think about it he got scared too.
They had been in the same boat for a while and parting ways was not something they had accounted for, not for the near future, at least.
In a weird way, they still would be in the same boat even after they were apart. Struggling to learn how to function without the other there.  Sam and Tuck would have each other, they were resilient, he was sure they could cope. He would have Jazz like he always had, enough said. And they would keep going like they always did.
Tucker was right. She would come around. But-
Danny slumped on his seat, running a hand through his hair releasing a big sigh.
“Yeah, I know” He murmured looking pensively in the direction their friend had stormed off. “Doesn’t mean I have to like it.”
“So, you are not mad?” Danny asked when he finally turned around towards Tucker.
“Nah, man. Just a little squeezy about dealing with this without you. But if your sister is really going to do this she is going to need you there.” Tucker shuddered a little bit. “I have never been there personally but if the social media and forums are not lying Gotham is a goddamn beast dude.”
The halfa hummed in agreement. Not like Amity Park didn’t have its own reputation on their corner of the internet, but still.
Gotham.
Danny took a sip from his milkshake before doing a mental check-list and frowning, “I’m starting to feel like I’m forgetting something” he whispered.
“Oh god, please don’t say that.”
“It’s okay,” Danny had made his best at planning, so his friends wouldn’t have to deal with the ghost in his absence. But with things like this, you never knew for sure. Not until it slapped you right across the face.“Probably just the paranoia.” ‘I hope’ he finished mentally with a weak laugh.
“Dude,” Tucker started before taking hold of his friend’s hand and squeezing it. “If you need help with anything I’m your man. just say the word.”
Tucker may not understand the full extent of the situation, but he was trying, and that meant a lot to the Fenton. He squeezed back and shot his friend a small but grateful smile.
“It’s ok. Thanks, Tuck-” He cut himself off, being interrupted by the sudden ding of one of Tucker’s devices.
The afro American boy ignored the sound though, in favor of putting his full attention on his friend, an action that demonstrated how serious he was with his words, but Danny was already lost in thought, staring intently at the briefly, but brightly, illuminated screen.
“Actually-” The halfa suddenly chirped, turning his full attention back to the boy across the table. Tucker just blinked back, waiting. Danny leaned forward dragging the other boy towards him so he could continue with a whisper. “You could help me with a pair of things.”
The mischievous smile Tucker was witnessing had come out of nowhere and couldn’t presage anything good, but as it was not aimed at him — necessarily — he couldn’t help but join in.
Several cities over, some of Gotham’s more infamous residents couldn’t find an explanation to the sudden shiver that ran up their spines.
-.-.-.-
When Danny made it back home he didn’t waste time tracking his sister down. She was down in the lab, typing away on the main computer and using one of her shoulders to keep her mobile pressed against her ear.
She was in the middle of a conversation and still managing to rewrite part of the ghost portal code like a pro.
His sister sure loved multitasking.
At the sound of the door closing behind the younger Fenton, Jazz looked up from the screen to shoot a brief smile to her brother before carrying on with her conversation.
“Yes. That’s perfect, I will be sending the three files then-”
The boy froze on his step and blinked a pair of times. She was already talking with one of the G. A. proctors? When he left this morning he had just dumped his proposals on Jazz for a second revision. He wasn’t expecting to have them sent already.
Hmm. Well, to be fair, he had rambled at Jazz about his projects relentlessly whenever he had a chance and didn’t feel like death warmed over.
Which weren’t many times. But once he got into a ramble it was an Olympic endeavor to shut him up. He was a Fenton. It was in their blood. Jazz did it too, even if she tried to chalk it up to healthy-and-completely-natural excitement.
So. Jazz already knew the contents pretty well, it was just a question of pulling off the presentation, which was the thing that Jazz was supposed to check over.
His sister had given him some tips, and even if his parents were not as invested in the writing process as in the practical, the fruit loop had more than enough experience doing it and didn’t give two flying fucks over whether or not Danny wanted his knowledge.
Danny knew monologing was an essential part of a villainous experience but he had spent way too much time listening to Vlad bitch about most of his employees to last him a lifetime.
Even little Madeline couldn’t stop the loneliness that had brought the madness. Danny had put so many hopes in the fluffy thing.
Letting out a resigned sigh the boy decided to just let it go and be grateful that his sister - who had more than five Universities fighting over her-  deemed it acceptable already.
He liked writing his ideas down, but using formal language and fudging APA was fucking exhausting.
Good fucking riddance. He thought, shaking his head slightly and sending a light sneer in the computer’s direction. As if the files on it could feel his disdain from his position on the other side of the room.
Danny spotted some of her sister’s nail polish bottles by her side on the table and made a beeline for them and took most of the little bottles before retreating to a chair on the other side of the desk.
He had heard some of the cheerleaders saying that the nail polish helped to keep the nails from getting all fucked up quite as easily, and it had caught his attention.
Danny had looked down at his hands and winced. Normally he didn’t pay much attention to his nails, but ever since getting on a constant string of fights he was more aware of how easily the goddamn things could break on you if you didn’t trim them properly, and it hurt like a bitch every time. It always seemed to be the tiniest things that told you to ‘fuck off’ to your face like nothing else.
Danny guessed that it was worth the try. And if anything, putting some color on them would help hide some of the blood — and ectoplasm — that got under his fingernails.
So he tried it out.
By this point, he was not sure if it really helped or he was just fooling himself into thinking it did work. The only sure thing was that he didn’t feel comfortable going without it anymore.
Danny liked to borrow the clear nail protector from Jazz, but most of the polish he had in his possession had been previously Sam’s. All pastels and cheery colors that her mom kept insisting on buying her because they kept being used.
“Thank you, Miss Gordon!”
If she had bothered to pay more attention to her daughter’s friends for more than sneering at them she may have noticed Danny’s pastel pink nails. But she hadn’t. And that had just ensured Danny a constant supply of pastels to cover his bloodied nails with-
“So, how did it go?”
“Uh.” The boy startled at the sudden proximity of the voice. He looked up from his nails and to his sister, who was now seated beside him.
“The execution.” Jazz prodded, smiling at him in anticipation. It looked downright creepy, considering the words she used.
“Seriously Jazz?” He snorted. “You make it sound like I went there to dispatch murder at random.”
“Don’t be ridiculous.” His sister scoffed, watching how her brother resumed painting his nails.  “They are already dead. You couldn’t kill them any more than they already are.”
“I could certainly try.”
“Danny-”
“Let’s just say the all-nighter paid off, and leave it at that.”
“So you had fun.” She teased. Stealing back one of the bottles of polish to finish her own nails with a second coat.
“For the most part, but-” He stopped, struggling to find words to describe the sheer mayhem that went down in the zone-
Jazz just hummed and gave him a little nod, still focusing on her nails. Danny relaxed. He could tell her later. When he had cooled off some more from the attack-protect mode he got into whenever he visited the zone. Remembering it all right now would just set him off again.
“So, what do you want for dinner?” The redhead asked suddenly.
Danny blinked a pair of times, perplexed, and stole a look at the clock.“It’s a little late to be asking that, don’t you think?”
“I suppose, but I decided to wait for you and then got sidetracked with the files.” She really needed to work on her awareness of time. “Didn’t even notice the hour.”
“I don’t even remember what we have in the cupboards.”
“Maybe we could-” She didn’t manage to suggest something before she got interrupted by their mother’s voice.
“Dinner is ready!”
“They made dinner?” Danny whispered to Jazz in dread.
“So it seems,” she responded, sharing his dread.
“Why did they make dinner? They never make dinner!”
“I mean, they do for special occasions, like-” She shuddered. “Like thanksgiving.”
This was ridiculous. Jazz and he were normally the ones cooking. Their parents spent most of their time in the lab or trying to hunt down ghosts. Today was not a holiday. They hadn’t invented anything new worth the ‘celebration’. There wasn’t a reason for them to-
“Oh! and Vlad is here~!”
Danny slammed his face against the desk with a groan.
Jazz winced at the sound.
“Time to face the music, little bro” She closed the polish bottles and patted him carefully on the back a few times before standing up and going to the kitchen.
“I still feel like I’m forgetting something…” Danny grumbled under his breath before following his sister upstairs.
-.-.-.-
It was the last Friday of the month and this could perfectly be one of Jazz’s many attempts to make them a functional family unit.
Except that the Fenton girl had let said efforts slip in favor of pursuing her little brother’s scholarship.
Oh, And the fruitloop was here.
Vlad had weaseled into the family’s — unplanned — plans because of course, he did.
“Everything looks absolutely lovely Madeline.”
Jazz would have believed his words. If she hadn’t seen the man poke at the food on the table with the wariness of a man on the death warrant whenever mom was not looking.
The siblings had spent way too many family dinners doing the same thing whenever they couldn’t quite manage to keep the older Fentons off the kitchen. And even when they did, they didn’t lower their guard. The chance of contamination was always a latent threat to the house.
Jazz turned her head slightly to look at her brother. The boy was, very pointedly, not poking at his food and just watched it with all the scorn he could gather. He refused to do the same things as Vlad, which didn’t mean he was crazy enough to try and eat the food on his plate.
The dinner proceeded with making some catching up, abundant science talk, teasing, scathing remarks, sighing, and finally dissolved in a three-way match between the Fenton children and one Vlad Masters to see who could dispose of the food in the most sneaky way.
She had always wondered how the man survived with her parents for as long as he did back in their college years. She knew now.
“Oh! And Jazzrinces finally decided on a college! The G.S.A. is backing up her research on ghosts! Isn’t that incredible?!”
Vlad smiled blandly at Jack. Skillfully suppressing the sneer the man’s cheeriness was trying to invoke to his face. He had lots of practice.
“And Danny decided to tag along to help his sister! Isn’t he such a sweet boy?” Maddie added with a cheer a little more forced than her husband’s. But still, cheer.
Now, that. That got Vlad’s attention. And he decided to take advantage of the children’s distraction to get more information and decide a proper plan of action.
Dany was making it a point to completely ignore the three adult’s conversation. Jazz stuck to taking small sips from her glass of water. That was, until-
“Surely you’re not planning on sending them without some proper equipment, are you?” Vlad tutted. “Don’t get me started on weapons. I mean you never know for certain what will be indispensable, right?”
“That’s a wonderful idea!”
The heads of both children snapped up.
“I mean, most of my research isn’t-” Jazz tried hastily to stop this on its tracks.
Sadly, it was not to be.
“Nonsense Jazz,” Her mom interrupted her, “It’s better to be prepared!”
Vlad hummed in agreement, “They won’t, after all, have anyone else to protect them from those trashy ghosts.”
Just like that, the Fenton parents started to list out loud all the things the kids would surely need for the research.
Vlad smirked.
Danny narrowed his eyes at the pompous fucker.
Jazz resigned herself to keep sighing until the end of times.
-.-.-.-
“How are we supposed to take this with us..?” Danny whispered looking horrified at all the equipment his parents had just thrown their way
“Can’t you just put it in the thermos?”
“The ectoplasmic energies of each Item would clash horribly” Danny winced
“You tried to…?” Jazz side-eyed him
“Yes.” He said curtly, “Wouldn’t really recommend” he continued with the air of someone haunted by the consequences of their life choices. death choices. Both were accurate, she supposed.
Jazz swallowed.
Cue in more silent horrified staring at the equipment.
“Maybe if we start with some boxes-”
“BEWARE!!! THE BOX GHOST!!!”
“Oh my god-!”
“I Fucking knew it!!”
-.-.-.-
A little while after, once the ghost box was gone, and the siblings had retreated to Jazz’s room for safety and the opportunity of proper evening gossip. The fruitloop came barging into the room.
“Ok. I raided the kitchen. There is nothing edible in this house. How do you even survive.” He stated, not asked, in a deeply judgemental tone.
“Magic. Pokemon Magic.” Danny deadpanned from his place on the bed. Jazz, who was cuddled beside him, was still chewing on the dry crackers that managed to survive the onslaught of their parents, for the simple reason that the things had been in her room.
Vlad sighed and started to massage his temples.
“Fine. Truce. Grab your things, we are going out.”
Jazz slightly choked on her crackers. Danny just choked on air. “What? Where-?”
“To get some proper food, of course.” The man sneered like it was completely obvious and tagging a smirk on for good riddance.
“Why would-”
“You have directions. I have the money. Chop chop. Before your parents catch us.” With that, the millionaire turned around and left, leaving the door wide open fully expecting them to follow along.
The siblings stared at each other for a moment before scrambling after Vlad.
Food was more important than playing the archnemesis-game.
For the hundred time that day:
Priorities.
ENDNOTES:
I couldn’t help the fucking references. Danny is a dork and I am ashamed.
-.-.-.-
I headcanon Danny as someone who really likes pet names, be it because he really likes the person or because it pisses them off. Two stones a deader bird.
-.-.-.-
What do you mean The Avengers aren’t a boyband?
-.-.-.-
The siblings are firm believers of the borrowing culture. There is no shame in asking to borrow some things.
Are those Ember’s hat & earrings? Yes. Yes, they are.
Why does Danny have his ears pierced, you ask? BECAUse there is no absolute heteronormative bullshit in this household AND I MUST ADD THAT-!
-Danny & Jazz watched ‘The parent trap’ when they were small little beans and were really interested in whether or not piercing your sibling’s ears was the ultimate bonding moment.
Jazz insisted on researching a lot more about proper sterilizing, mind you- but like the tiny feral unsupervised cupcakes they were, they decided to try it.
Jazz already had her ears pierced, SO, yeah.
It hurt like a bitch for Danny, and Jazz panicked for a week afterward about infections, but it was indeed a good bonding moment.
-.-.-.-
If I ship Jason with some fucking therapy does that mean I can ship him with Jazz?
Ship’s name is JJ for you.
… I just gave myself YOI flashbacks.
Fuck.
-.-.-.-
You might want to say: ‘but author-san, those are not all the ghosts Danny deals with?’, and you are damn right they aren’t, but you must trust in Danny thousand-back-ups Fenton, my children.
(Also, where would be the fun if everyone was accounted for since now? You will see what went down later on. :p)
-.-.-.-
Don’t know if you noticed, but Jazz is not the only one that thinks Danny is a cutie patootie :v
Danny has long ago resigned himself to the being called “Lord” thing. Is better than the ‘K’ word.
-.-.-.-
The thing about the nails is something I do. I started because they looked pretty, I kept painting them because I felt they broke up more easily if I didn’t put like three coats of polish on them.
At least I don’t bite them as much anymore. :p
-.-.-.-
If there is someone on this green earth that knows about the struggles of living with Jack and Maddie Fenton, that someone is Vlad Masters.
Change my mind.
You can’t.

I think Vlad is gonna fuck Red over with Anne because Liz already approached him to switch sides. Interesting how they identify Rakitin at the same time he gets the order to kill Cooper. Vlad will push through in Rakitin’s arrest and extraction and circle around to Anne’s house in Kansas. I’m expecting Vlad to steer episode 12 and 13...and whatever happens in 13 will push Red toward Ressler in 14, which will basically push Liz to surrender at the end of 14 or 15.
For anyone who doesn’t understand the concept, who doesn’t see what I see in Anne’s character, know this... Anne is Red’s tiny island of calm. Take that away, and Red will be swept out to sea. If you don’t believe me, just rewatch all their scenes and notice their soundtracks.

fanfiction
based on the animatic idea i had for this song
Warnings: injury, character death
i still dont know why the page break is gone does anyone know
Dash stared at the boy in front of him. He didn’t know Dash was behind him but Dash was gaping at the twerp.
Danny Fenton was over there facing a ghost.
He was fucking staring it down and exchanging banter.
Dash was floored as he watched, jaw dropped, as Danny casually sauntered right up to the ghost.
The fuck does Fenton think he’s doing? Danny laughed at something he said and before Dash knew it the ghost was throwing an ectoblast right at the boy. He jumped and rolled to the side so quickly that Dash’s jaw was nearly unhinged now.
And then something happened that Dash couldn’t explain. No matter how hard he racked his mind over it, he couldn’t come up with a conceivable explanation.
Two blinding white rings formed around Danny’s waist, floating away from one another as they passed his chest, his hands, his head. Until left standing there was Phantom. The Danny Phantom.
Dash looked like a fish now, mouth opening and closing as Phantom-Danny- rushed head first towards the ghost, hand charged up with radioactive ectoplasm.
Fists flew, debris rained down, and soon Danny was sucking the ghost into that little thermos he always seemed to have. Floating there, Danny had a smirk on his face and he began to turn around. When he met Dash’s horrified and shocked gaze, his own eyes filled with fear. Danny’s eyebrows drew down though and he floated over to Dash who scooted away.
Dash could see Danny’s mouth moving but he couldn’t hear anything. The sound of his heartbeat rushed through his ears and his chest heaved up and down too quickly.
A hand softly landed on his shoulder and Dash looked up into Danny’s green eyes. His white hair stood on end, sticking up messily. Now that Dash had seen he could clearly see Danny in Phantom now. He was wearing a jumpsuit for fucks sake.
Dash took in a deep breath and shakily spoke.
“Change back.”
The whisper was airy and Dash could still feel himself shaking and breathing too fast but he got it out.
Danny’s brows furrowed again. “Dash, do you want me to take you home? It’d only take-”
“No! Change back!” Dash spit back.
Danny jumped at the tone, but did as he was asked. The rings appeared again and Dash jerked his arm away from them before they could touch him. Before him was a totally normal, dweebish looking Danny Fenton.
“Are you dead?" Dash asked, voice barely above a whisper. “How is this possible? You can’t be both alive and dead.” Dash’s face went slack and his eyes widened. “Am I dead? Am I imagining all of this in my last seven minutes of brain activity?”
Danny rolled his eyes. “Dash, no-”
“I’m not ready to die!” Dash wailed. “Is this the karma I get? To be left in purgatory until the end of time being tormented by both my hero and the kid I wailed on everyday?”
Suddenly Danny’s hands were both on Dash’s shoulders shaking him. The smaller boy leaned forward until their faces were only a few inches apart.
“Dash! You’re not dead!” Danny huffed out a small breath, hanging his head. “You just saw something you weren’t supposed to.”
Dash’s eyes widened at that again. “Are you gonna kill me?”
Danny groaned. “Dash, no. It’s just… There are people that if they knew this secret they’d want to kill me. The GIW, The Red Huntress. My parents.” His voice trailed off on the last word.
“Your parents don’t know?” Dash whispered in horror.
Danny snorted softly. “Are you kidding? Who knows what they’d do if they found out their son was public enemy number one. They could kill me, dissect me, try to expunge the ghost overshadowing me. Tear me apart molecule by molecule.”
Silence reigned between them before Dash spoke again.
“Does anyone know?”
Danny nodded. “Sam and Tucker have known the whole time. Jazz found out on her own. All the ghosts know. For some reason.” He scrunched his nose at that. He groaned and leaned away from Dash, resting against the car the jock had been hiding behind during the fight.
“How did it happen?” Dash asked quietly. He had calmed down most of the way but he was still having the shakes. He looked at Danny who had his eyes closed, eyebrows drawn down.
“Accident with the ghost portal. I accidentally turned it on and it electrocuted me while I was inside it. It’s why I missed the first two weeks of freshman year.”
“Man..” Dash looked at the rubble on the ground in front of them. “That sucks.”
Danny snorted. “Tell me about it.”
They sat there in silence for awhile before Danny groaned again and started to stand up.
“I gotta get going. I have chores and homework I need to do.”
Dash stood up shakily, leaning against the car once he was on his feet.
“Do you want me to fly you home?”
His head shot up at Danny’s question and he saw the other boy rubbing the back of his neck.
“I just thought because you’re still shaking that maybe- I don’t know how long it’d take you- another ghost could-”
Dash let out a chuckle at the boy’s nervous stammering. “Sure why not.”
Those rings appeared yet again and something clenched in Dash’s stomach. It wasn’t nearly as terrifying this time around.
Danny picked Dash up off the ground and leapt into the air, going about the speed as a car would normally be driving down one of these roads.
They finally made it to Dash’s house and Danny flew in through the wall to his room. Danny’s tail turned back into legs and he touched down on the floor before placing Dash back on his own feet.
“You gonna be okay?” Danny asked as he started turning back to the wall they just flew through.
“Yeah. Are you gonna be okay?”
Shrugging, Danny cracked a smile.
“As okay as a dead kid can be.”
He waved and floated through the wall, leaving Dash alone.
QQQQQQQQQQQQQQ
“Danny!” Dash screamed. He ran between crumbled buildings and bent cars. “Danny!”
The ghost boy wasn’t anywhere in sight, not that that really mattered but it scared Dash. They’d all been at school when the guys in white smashed through walls and dropped through the ceiling.
English class with Lancer.
Dash held his chin in his hand, looking boredly down at his notebook where he was doodling circles instead of taking notes. He looked up at Danny who was sitting in front of him to the left, barely keeping his head up off his desk.
Mr. Lancer was droning on about some sort of poetry when the outside walls burst into the classroom, the ceiling falling apart above them.
“Of Mice and Men!” Lancer exclaimed while students shouted and covered their heads as debris fell around them.
As the dust cleared Dash could make out boulders of men, their white suits still immaculate of dust or dirt, all pointing their weapons at Danny.
“Danny Fenton,” one started, “Under the Ecto-Containment Bill, section D paragraph one, you are hereby arrested for harboring a ghostly fugitive.”
“What?!” Danny exclaimed. “Why would I be harboring a ghost fugitive?” “The reasons are unknown. What we have gathered is that Phantom is taking up residence within you and either you are completely fooled, or you allow his presence.”
The blood drained from Danny’s face and Dash’s eyes widened.
“Phantom? How would I be harboring Phantom? We’ve never even been seen in the same place before! How could I have met him?” Danny asked nervously. He eyed an agent as he took a tool from his pocket, pointing it at Danny who flinched.
“Level 9 specter. We’ve been tracking Phantom’s ecto-signature for weeks. But if you’ve never been seen together before then…”
One by one the agents raised their weapons and pointed them at Danny. They came to life, the whirring filling the otherwise quiet classroom. The first shot was fired and students could be heard screaming as Danny ducked and rolled across the floor.
Another blast was shot towards him and nearly clipped his arm.
“Go!” Dash shouted. He ran towards Danny, blocking the agents aim.
“Dash!” Danny hissed. “What are you doing?”
“Buying you time. Now get out of here.”
Dash turned his head back towards the agent who fired the first shot at Danny. Running forward, he tackled the man to the ground, managing to knock the gun out of his hands. The other agents let out exclamations as they tried to pull him off the bastard.
“The Fenton kid is gone!”
At this, Dash was thrown to the side, forgotten, as the agents ran from the school, piling into vans or equipping their flight inventions. Once the area was clear, Dash sprinted from the building, ignoring the cries of Lancer and his classmates.
“Danny!” Dash yelled again. His eyes were starting to well up and his breathing was getting faster. If he didn’t find Danny soon he’d be too panicked to continue looking for him.
Suddenly, Dash felt a hand around his wrist pull him into one of the buildings the GIW had crashed through. Dash turned around and couldn’t help the sob that left his throat.
He threw his arms around Danny, pulling him close against his chest.
“I thought they got you!” He whispered.
Danny shook his head. “They’ve got my ecto-signature, I won’t be able to hide from them for long here. I need to leave.”
“Leave where? Where could you possibly go?”
“Australia? The ghost zone? Hell, I might even actually need Vlad’s help this time.”
“But-”
Dash was interrupted as another hole was smashed into the building they were hiding in.
There stood at least fifteen GIW, all armed, all aiming at Dash and Danny as they stood there. Guns began whirring and the two of them started backing towards the wall.
“You’re surrounded, Phantom. There’s no escaping this time.” The agent barked.
“What do you even need him for?!” Dash yelled. “He’s done nothing but good for this town!”
“He needs to be disposed of.”
The way the agent said it was so cold it sent ice down Dash’s spine.
“What?”
“Whatever this child is shouldn’t exist. His power increases faster than any other specter and it would be unwise to leave it in the hands of a mere teenager. He must be exterminated.”
Dash gaped. “This is a kid you’re talking about! A living, breathing kid! That’s murder!”
“There are no laws protecting ectoplasmic organisms. They are supposed to be dealt with and disposed of.”
Dash’s vision swam with red. He stormed towards the agent, preparing to strike the snake’s face with his fist.
Something shot into his stomach. It threw him into the ground and as his vision tilted he touched the aching, burning spot on his abdomen, lifting his hand to see it slick with blood.
After that everything felt like it was happening outside a fish bowl that he was lying in. The sounds around him were muted. He vaguely registered Danny yelling. The glowing shield now surrounding Dash. Danny screaming. It all felt like it lasted a lifetime and a second all at the same time.
Someone was shaking Dash’s shoulder, trying to get his attention. He turned his heavy gaze towards the figure-Danny-above him. He could make out the GIW agents scattered on the ground in front of them, the tears on Danny’s face.
“Dash?” He could finally hear his name being spoken. Danny’s voice was filled with raw panic and Dash knew. He knew it wasn’t good.
“Danny…” Dash whispered. He began to cough, a copper taste filling his mouth and over Danny’s shoulder he saw a hazy light blurring the broken building.
“I’m not gonna… Not gonna make it.” Dash said shakily.
A sob pushed its way out of Danny’s throat and tears streamed down his face faster. “No Dash, you gotta hold on. I’ll get you to a hospital and they can-”
“Danny-” Dash’s breath hitched as he placed his hand on top of Danny’s. “I can already- already see it. I’m not gonna make it to a hospital.”
Danny leaned down and pressed his forehead against Dash’s, his tears dripping onto the other boy’s face.
“Go to- go to Australia. Or the ghost zone, Danny. Please. Get somewhere safe.”
Danny lifted his gaze to look into Dash’s unfocused blue eyes. His breathing picked up and Danny took his free hand and ran it through Dash’s hair until the erratic breaths stopped.
Dash was standing above Danny and his body, watched as Danny leaned over onto his chest and sobbed.
Dash took one last look at Danny and turned to walk towards the hazy light, leaving Danny alone.
