Mala-along hampas ng karagatan ang protestang ikinasa ng laksa-laksang mamamayan sa pang-apat na SONA ni Rodrigo Duterte. Nasabayan ng malawakang pagsigaw ng mga panawagan kahapon; ini-rehistro ang lahat ng mga kasalanan at nalimutang pangako ng kasalukuyang rehimen sa mga Pilipino. Ipinaramdam ng sambayanan na handa tayong tumindig para sa ating sariling soberanya at pambansang kalayaan. Handa tayong lumaban para sa bayan! Mula sa hanay ng mga magsasaka at mangingisda, patuloy na panawagan nila ay tunay na reporma sa lupa na dapat ay nasasakahan at dagat na dapat ay napapangisdaan nila. Bigas at pananim ang dapat nilang itanim hindi bala ang dapat ipunla ng pamahalaan sa mga pagal nilang katawan. Kaya sigaw rin nila ay hustisya. Mula sa hanay ng mga manggagawa, hindi pa rin tapos ang isyu ng kontraktwalisasyon. Mailap pa rin ang pagiging regular sa mga pagawaan. Sinasabayan pa ng kakarampot na sahod at hindi maayos na trato ng kompanya. Pakinggan ang panawagan ng mga hukbong mapagpalaya, ang uring manggagawa!

Mula sa hanay ng mga estudyante, patuloy pa ring komersiyalado, kolonyal at represibo ang edukasyon. Mistula pa ring eksperimento ang kabataan sa pamamagitan ng bogus na K-12 program. Patuloy rin ang paniningil ng dagdag na matrikula sa mga unibersidad. Sinasakal pa sa pamamagitan ng nagbabadyang Mandatory ROTC ang mga estudyante. Giit ng kabataan, itigil ang represyon, libre at kalidad na edukasyon para sa lahat! Mula sa hanay ng maralitang lungsod, ng mamamayang lumalaban hindi pa rin tayo titigil na irehistro ang ating panawagan para sa paninirahan, trabaho, at murang bilihin. Tuloy-tuloy ang pambuburaot ng gobyerno sa porma ng TRAIN Law at kaliwa't kanang pagtaas ng kinokonsumo sa pang-araw-araw. Dagdag pa ang pagpapaalis sa mga maralita dahil sa sunod-sunod na demolisyon. Lalong humihirap at mahirap ngayong rehimeng Duterte. Para sa bayan, na harap-harapang binubusabos ng pangulo at pinamimigay sa dayuhan patuloy na titindig ang mamamayan nito. Sa atin ang Pinas! Hindi sa Tsina o sa kahit na ano mang bansa.

"We haven't exacted justice for the massacres, displacement, closure of our schools yet another massacre killed our fellow Lumads under the Duterte regime," say Lumad student.

[It’s] graduation season for students in the Philippines, but for indigenous Lumad the ending of school year means continuing evacuation & closure of Lumad schools.

For [Indigenous peoples] & marginalized people, "Wakasan Na!" (End Now) echoes the disgust over the 5 years rule of... Duterte. With reports on Duterte’s plan to run again for VP & his daughter's presidential dreams, the #WakaSONA call grows.

Not only [Indigenous peoples] but different sectors including health workers cry for #WakaSONA after Duterte’s failed pandemic response. [...] We call on ... the int'l community to act, support [Indigenous peoples] & Filipinos demand for accountability, justice!

4. A Lumad student wearing regalia and a paper graduation hat holds a placard made to look like a report card. The placard reads: “Grado ni DU-30 sa 5 taong panunungkulan: Ekonomiya -5, Kalikasan -5, Kalusugan -5, Karapatan -5, Soberanya at pambansang patrimonya -5 — DROPPED” (Duterte’s grades after 5 years in office: Economy -5, Environment -5, Health -5, Rights -5, Sovereignty and national patrimony -5).

Underneath the org names Sandugo, Katribu, MCPA, BAI, IPMSDL, Panaghiusa, Katribu Youth, Sandiwa, and Tabak are listed. 

6. Two activists from the healthcare sector are dressed in full PPE and pantomiming surgery on a cariacture of Duterte, excising “budget cut”, “privatization”, “West Philippine Sea” (which has a tiny Chinese flag next to it), “contractualization”, “extrajudicial killings”, “corruption”, “red tagging”, and “kagutuman” (starvation) with a giant scalpel and surgical scissors. Both props are labeled “Wakasan na!”
