I’m so tired of the “batfamily can defeat all their friends” trope like bffr.
Batman? Sure he can cheat and bring out some kryptonite but you really think he’s gonna defeat WONDER WOMAN?
Nightwing: maybe Roy, but Donna Troy literal Amazonian trained by Wonder Woman? He’s done for. And Garth the magic user. What’s he gonna do throw his escrisma stick at him? Wally West former temporal being? He’s dead before he can comprehend what is happening.
Jason Todd: I actually fully believe and stand by the idea that Roy Harper would defeat Jason in a fight, no I will not be accepting criticism. Don’t even try to tell me he stands a chance against my girl starfire. (I know he’s also friends with Artemis and bizarro but I try to avoid reading anything that involves Jason Todd)
Tim drake: bro’s got a kryptonian, Amazonian, and a speedster as friends. I don’t care if he’s a good detective, he’s getting the brakes beaten off him.
Damian Wayne: only one of his friends I know enough about is currently THE Superman. I know he can use kryptonite but that’s like tying a dude to a chair then beating them up and saying you won a fight against them.
I will not be including Stephanie brown, Cassandra Cain, or Duke Thomas because I actually like them and because I haven’t seen them interact with other DC characters enough to actually speak on this.
But guys I know they’re like “geniuses” or whatever, but they’re not the only ones…
As someone said on another post “who wins: Batman with prep time or Wonder Woman with her fist”

Can I pretty please have a ranunculus and and azalea bouquet? With burlap wrapping and perhaps a little bit of lace?
Wally West @ Batsis' extravagant birthday party, where she looks fine asf.
Justice League + Young Justice are included and they all come to wish Batman's favourite protege a happy birthday 💓
I love your writing so much, it's creative and genuine, please never stop! So many people love your work ♥️
Keep doing what your doing, and stay healthy 🫶
he couldn’t help it, whoever he saw you he’d run straight to you. much to bruce’s dismay, the batman’s hard glare sat on the speedster as he talked to you. he hated the way you smiled at wally.
he hated wally sometimes.
dick raised a brow, noticing his adoptive fathers annoyance. he understood bruce’s mood, after all his best friend and baby — you were 20 — sister were in a relationship.
“don’t poison him.”
bruce merely hummed in response, his grouchy grumbly hum. dick shrugged it off, moving back to kory’s side, the tamarian wasted no time chatting his ear off.
meanwhile you and wally were in your own little world. the speedster could help but gawk when he first saw you. the colour of your dress went so well with your skin tone, jewellery complimenting both.
roy had laughed at him, teased him and told him that if he had a tail it’d be wagging at super speed. he shoved roy off before speeding to your side.
you laughed when you were spun in a hug, kissing your boyfriend’s cheek as he set you down on your feet. he returned the kiss, instead pressing one to your lips, accidentally staining his own the same shade of pinkish red.
“i love you.” he whispered.
the night went on, superheroes, former sidekicks and current ones all around the manor’s ballroom. wally spent the whole night by your side, the two of you danced, he stuffed his mouth with food much to your amusement and as the night grew older you two slipped away.
back to your bedroom where your ‘gift’ from him was waiting, he used his super speed, getting your dress off in seconds before he had you on the bed.
“you’re gorgeous, y’know that?” he undid his shirt quickly, tossing that and his pants to the side and then he was on you.
straddling your hips and pressing a kiss against your lips, hungry and needy. “so pretty, been waiting all night for this.”
his hand slipped down your body, fingers against your clit, he grinned against your lips before vibrating his fingers.
you gasped into his mouth, hips writhing under his touch. his fingers didn’t stop, he kept going. the only ‘downside’ to your boyfriend being the fastest man alive was he could go faster, and he did just that.
vibrating his fingers even faster until you came. “new record, honey. reckon i could make you cum even faster than that though.”
he chuckled as you mindlessly agreed, pressing a kiss against your lips again before going down on your body. “lets see if my tongue can go faster.”
he looked up at you from between your thighs, green eyes glimmering up at him in the moonlight. he let his tongue fall from his mouth, he looked disgustingly hot like that.
licking up and through your folds, sucking on your clit when his tongue met the pretty little bud. he didn’t waste another second before moving his tongue faster than humanly possible, if you listened carefully you’d hear the little buzzing coming from him.
he groaned against you, hands holding your thighs apart. his own hips were rutting into the bed, and you came again, the visual of him getting off on getting you off was more than what you needed.
wally thinks he can fuck you faster, guess he’ll have to find out.

I saw a picture from one of the All-Star Squadron’s first meetings, and I have to ask… why are so many heroes a “The”? Some, I get. Like the Flash or the Whip. But the Hawkman? The Hourman? What?
This one can basically be chalked up to the journalistic and aesthetic preferences of the time and is a really good object lesson in how we saw "Mystery Men" then vs how we see Superheroes now.
Nowadays we treat superhero mantles as accepted titles. Many heroes, one way or the other, make their nom de guerres known to the public directly. Superman, Batman, Green Lantern. We call them these without the article because we are accepting, as a collective, that those are the names these people are to be called.
In the olden days they weren't mantles, they were descriptives. When old newspapers called Carter Hall "The Hawkman" they weren't treating the title "Hawkman" as a standard name. They were saying "The guy who dresses up like a hawk. He is The Hawk-Man". They were novelties, named like pro wrestlers or sideshow attractions.
"Superman" is familiar language. He's Superman, that's who he is, the name is the description. We don't call him "The Superman" because we're not describing him as "The man who is Super".
Golden Age Mystery Men were, despite the admiration they collected, considered aberrations. Something to point at and gasp, sometimes for good, sometimes for ill. Superheroes, where they now operate, are considered normal. Standard. Part of the city's color and character.
The Flash is the exception, you'll find that these days a lot of people do call them "Flash" in standard conversation but the term "The Flash" has become traditional. The people of the twin cities are very protective of The Flash legacy so now that's how it's printed on everything,
(Photo my dad took before I was born on a firefighting convention trip to Central City. Note, the sign, in every iteration says "Home of THE Flash and that this sign if probably the most famous thing with his name on it)
And language is ultimately a description of the words people actually use so...

Nickleback and Wally
Wally West sped through the streets of Paris, his heart racing with excitement as he made his way to a quaint café where Zatanna Zatara was enjoying a leisurely cup of tea. The aroma of freshly brewed beverages filled the air, and the vibrant atmosphere of the city buzzed around them.
Wally skidded to a halt in front of Zatanna, his breath slightly labored but his enthusiasm undeterred.
“Sup?” Zatanna greeted, unaffected by the man's sudden speedy apperance.
“Can you magically teleport my best buddy and life partner here?” Wally asked, his request tumbling out in a rush.
Zatanna paused, curious. “What for?”
Wally practically bounced on his feet. “There’s a concert for Nickelback in Bludhaven! He doesn’t like Nickelback, but I love the band, and I will not have him avoid this again!”
Zatanna chuckled, leaning back in her chair. “Good enough answer for me.”
“Wait… no questions about why I’m meeting you at a café in France to ask this?” Wally questioned, a hint of disbelief in his voice.
“Tsk, I’m used to a lot of things. This isn’t even odd to me,” Zatanna replied, a mischievous grin spreading across her face.
Without further ado, she pulled out her wand, her fingers dancing over it with magical elegance. With a flick and an incantation spoken softly, a burst of light erupted. Suddenly, Dick Grayson bewildered, dropped from the sky, landing perfectly into Wally's outstretched arms.
“I said I would think about going!” Dick exclaimed, a mixture of surprise and exasperation evident on his face.
Wally tightened his grip on his friend, his excitement unabated. “We can’t miss this concert! You have to go!”
Dick glared at him. “You put on your costume, went to Zatanna, and kidnapped me for a concert! You have to understand how bad that sounds!”
Wally beamed. “I will show you the awesomeness of Nickelback!”
“Some of their music is pretty catchy, Dick,” Zatanna chimed in, taking a sip of her tea.
“Not helping!” Dick shot back, his irritation growing.
Zatanna lifted her cup to her lips again, a slight smirk playing on her face. “Wasn’t intending to! Do this for your boyfriend!”
“Stop saying that!” Dick protested, his cheeks flushing. "I don't like the band, let me go home!"
“Come on, please! It’s not like you were doing anything important,” Wally implored, determination gleaming in his eyes.
“I was at work!” Dick countered sharply, crossing his arms.
“You can get another job. Let’s go!” Wally declared, taking off at full speed with Dick still in his embrace. Dick didn’t protest further, though annoyance etched across his features.
As they sped away, Zatanna took another sip of her tea, humming the tune of “Photograph.” She smiled to herself, reveling in the unexpected antics of her friends.
