Before.
"I know what you're doing."
Three weeks prior, Natasha's sentence would have made her jump with fright. Perhaps she would have tried to hide all those files and lie and lie again, until she could convince herself the whole thing was about the job.
But today? Wanda was tired. She had spent the last few hours stumbling into dead ends, no progress on whatever she was trying to do with all that vague information Shield had on you.
So she lifted her face to the redhead who appeared in her room late at night, two cups of coffee in hand, and chuckled weakly at the statement. It was obvious that the drink was an invitation - perhaps even a sign of 'hey, I'm not trying to start a fight. I want to help,' and Wanda accepted without hesitation.
"It's not like I'm doing a good job of keeping it a secret." She retorts to Nat, who smiles before taking the empty space on the bed. Practically all the Shield files - now labeled Avengers - about you are scattered on the mattress. It's a mess, and to Nat, it makes sense that Wanda hasn't made much progress.
"To be fair, for a first-time Investigation, I think you're doing all right." Says the widow after a sip of her coffee. "You covered your tracks and even used an official justification for researching her. Your mistake was involving Vision."
Wanda sighs. "Let me guess, he talks under pressure?"
Nat chuckles, nodding. Wanda rubs a tension point on her forehead. Taking advantage of this, Natasha gestures to one of the files. "I'm not going to tell you what you can and can't do, Maximoff. But this doesn't seem very healthy."
Wanda gives a sad smile, and Nat expects her to defend herself. But instead, the smaller girl sighs. "I know." She murmurs sincerely, forcing a faint smile at the widow. "But I need this, Nat. It's the first time in months that I've managed to think about anything other than Pietro. And I know it doesn't look healthy, but it's all I've got. I'm an Avenger now. Maybe it's just time to get to work, and arrest villains or something."
Natasha frowned at her, absorbing the confession for a moment before rebutting: "Is that what you want to do with Y/N, though? Lock her up?"
Wanda swallows dryly, looking down. "Of course, Nat."
"You're a terrible liar."
The brunette sighs. "I mean it!"
"And I don't believe you." Nat insists in a good mood despite everything. "Look at all this, Wanda. You've been at it for days. Studying her. Did you even remember to eat anything in the last few hours?" Wanda snorts, gesturing to the breakfast leftovers on the dresser in the corner of the room which makes Natasha let out an incredulous laugh. "Wow, a nutritious example you are."
The witch tosses her hair back. "If you've come here to try to babysit me, please leave."
Natasha rolled her eyes and ignored the other woman's stubbornness. She put her coffee down between her crossed legs and started organizing the files.
"You're naturally perceptive and clever, Maximoff. But you lack experience and practice. You need to put together a timeline and find the gaps." The widow began, and masterfully, all the security camera photos, reports from shield agents, and unexplained crimes related to thieves with no identifiable faces began to connect and make sense. "But I must warn you, I did all this years ago. When I started at Shield, your little friend was already some sort of the goose that laid the golden eggs, or stole the gold for the saying to work."
"She's not my friend." Wanda murmured, her gaze fixed on the files so Natasha wouldn't see her blush. The widow ignored the comment and continued talking.
"My point is that I didn't get very far." Nat says with a sigh. "To be honest, it was an insult to my ego. She was just a kid back there. And she managed to flee much more experienced agents. She had endless, untraceable disguises. She doesn't need to impersonate, you know? She can create faces. It makes her almost impossible to monitor. When we met for the first time, it was she who found me." Nat says, swallowing dryly at her own memories. Wanda's eyes widen softly, listening carefully. "I never told this to anyone, but when Clint first met me, he told me that he felt something. As if he knew I wanted to escape. And when I saw Y/N, I had the same feeling."
"What did you do?" Wanda asked and Nat sighed.
"I couldn't do what Clitn did for me, Wanda, I'm sorry." Said the widow sincerely. "She attacked first. And I had to defend myself. It wasn't just protocol, it was all I'd learned to do."
Wanda frowns. "Why are you telling me all this, Nat?"
The redhead sighs. "Because it's important. It means that she doesn't trust easily, and attacks when she feels threatened. She reminds me of both of us, to be honest." Nat comments, getting a small smile from the witch. "Besides, I want you to be really careful if you do dig into this."
"I will."
"I'm serious, Wanda." Insists the redhead. "Careful not to miss a gun hidden in her dress." She remembers the last official report Wanda made, regarding her first mission, the night she simply couldn't stop thinking about, especially after your secret vision to the compound, and the witch swallows dryly. Nat doesn't mind her hesitation. "Careful in a way that you'll use your powers if necessary."
Without looking the widow in the eye, Wanda retorts between her teeth: "I get it, Nat."
"You're not going to carry this on until you look me in the eye, Maximoff. And swear it."
Wanda's stubbornness falters, and she returns her attention to the widow, looking at her seriously. Nat gives her a small smile as she adds, "It's not just Clint who cares about your safety. We all do. I'm not going to allow you to throw yourself headlong into something dangerous just to escape your grief, Wanda. Swear that you'll be very careful, and you'll walk away if it gets too dangerous."
Wanda is surprised by the tenderness, and a little embarrassed. It takes a moment but she finally nods. "I swear." She says before adding. "I want to help Y/N. Like Clint helped you. Not lock her up, like I said before."
Natasha chuckles. "I know, kid. I know."
With the Black Widow’s blessing, she kept digging those files. And Nat didn't lie, you're untraceable. Every time you meet, it's clear that you've let yourself be found. Even with handcuffs on your wrist, you keep smiling as if it was all part of the plan. Judging by the way you always escape from prisons, later going public that some confidential information for the police was stolen, this is easily confirmed.
The Avengers are getting used to the strange persecution, very much because each of them has their secrets. And just like his protégé, Steve Rogers had side missions to pursue Bucky. It would be hypocritical of him to hold anything against Wanda for being after you.
And Wanda couldn't stop. Even after hundreds of dead ends and ridiculous escapes. She had to meet you, and have less than five minutes in your presence with another twelve agents and the whole Avengers present every fortnight when they manage to track you only for you to escape again. She didn't know why, but she had the impression that you looked forward to these moments as much as she did.
Like a little private game of mouse and cat, only you and her were part of.

There are a hundred things to do in the Capital of Crime.
The most complete list of gambling games imaginable, right down to a mural of targets to be captured.
All these things are at your disposal, and all you can think about is the new addition to the Avengers team.
Wanda Maximoff was born in the country that fell from the sky around the same time that Baron Strucker was playing Pinky and the Brain with your cells in a secret laboratory of the now-destroyed Hydra. A Stark bomb made her an orphan, and after bouncing from orphanage to orphanage, often expelled for getting into trouble with her twin brother, Wanda embarked on protest groups in search of civil rights until she was finally recruited into a human experimentation program that turned her into an enhanced version of herself. She was the only reason for the first time in your life that you wished you hadn't split with Strucker so soon - If you'd still been his puppy instead of the clients he got, you would have met her. You may have become friends.
"She's doing it again." Xu Xialing whispered to Layla, the two engaged in a game of Beat the Hero - a competition of colored cards that contained electronic figures detailing the abilities of real-life superheroes. It was, in a way, training for possible battles in real life, where they learned about their enemies by playing. The two of them were sitting in opposite armchairs, while you were practically lying on the sofa, drinking with a lost look on your face. According to them, fantasizing for the tenth time in a row about the Avenger you met in Italia weeks ago.
Layla giggled when she saw your expression before turning her face to Xu Xialing again. "You know, they say Maximoff has psychic powers. Maybe Y/N is under a spell."
"A love spell, that is." Mocks the Chinese woman, getting a laugh from the other.
You only came out of your trance of thoughts about Wanda with the bell from the private room you were in. Your face changed before the curtain opened, and Xu Xialing was the first to look at the security guard entering, somewhat annoyed at having her private time playing games with friends interrupted.
"Forgive me for intruding, madam. The Countess is here and requests the Sage to join her." The man said, and Xialing nodded in understanding. She turned to you, but there was no need. With a soft leap from the sofa, you got to your feet and took one of Layla's cards from her pile - you threw it on the board and helped her win the game, taking the opportunity to leave the room while the two of them discussed whether the assisted victory had been fair or not.
The Golden Daggers Club was as packed and vibrant as ever. The next round of betting for the fights was due to start soon, and there were a lot of people shouting their bets to the judges, and joining the fight cages, so you had to make some effort to follow the venue's security guard into the special area of the place - where federal agents were given even more privacy to be around.
Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine was waiting for you alone, but behind a door with six security guards guarding her. Each of them gave you a look of contempt, but you walked past them without any reaction until you were with Valentina in a room with no windows, every inch of which was covered in priceless works of art, many of them stolen throughout history, which you and Layla recovered together in the service of the Ten Rings.
"You wanted to see me, Countess?" was your greeting, softly snarky. You weren't in the best of moods, especially since Valentina had interrupted your rest.
The woman gave you a false smile from the armchair where she was sitting waiting for you. A closed file and a glass of wine lay on the corner table.
"Oh, what a surprise, after your last defeat, I thought you'd given up on Sage." She comments with a certain venom on your disguise, the same one you wore two weeks ago when you went on what she called a streak of bad luck in the Club's fighting competitions, but which Xu Xialing called a distracted lovesick puppy. You try to disguise your clumsiness by clearing your throat.
Checking that the door is closed, you return to your real appearance and Valentina gives you a small but genuine smile.
"What do you want?" you insist, and in response, she pats the file resting on the table. You sigh. "What's this?"
"Last month has been very busy, but I've finally had time to review some of your late missions reports." She begins and you hide your nervousness, knowing full well where this conversation could end. "I apologize for taking so long to check them, darling. I hope you don’t think I’m jeopardizing your learning progress."
"Stop stalling, Valentina, just tell me what the problem is." You retort grumpily but she chuckles, her fingers tracing the paper before she grabs the file.
“Normally, I trust your experience, but I've heard that you've been particularly... antsy in your last few operations. Of course, you've successfully made it out of all of them, after all, we're having this conversation, but for a master of disguise, the increased number of encounters with the Avengers attracted my curiosity. I thought I'd take a closer look at your original encounters with them, and found an interesting passage in your report on Italy two months ago."
The page is already marked and in the next moment, she begins to read;
"My exit was interrupted by the presence of a new Avenger. A woman, perhaps the same age as me. The new, improved one from Sokovia. Average height, brown hair. Green eyes. Intense. Hypnotizing."
You swallow dryly, looking down at your feet. You're grateful to have control over your own body, or Valentina would be able to watch your cheeks blush.
She continues reading. "We faced each other briefly. The girl doesn't have complete control of her abilities, it was a quick fight. I immobilized her and departed in the getaway vehicle. No disguise was compromised, no other witnesses." Valentina narrates, finally raising her eyes from the file to you. "You know what's funny, sweetheart? The Avengers submitted their own report on Sapienza, and Wanda Maximoff describes the encounter with a Shapeshifter in detail. My question is, why are you lying for someone who didn't hesitate to use her special abilities to show her team your real appearance?"
You're caught off guard. A conflict of emotions rises in your chest, from anger to disappointment. It hurts. It's confusing and suffocating, and you feel the urge to start crying. But none of these emotions floats over your expression, your nails digging into your palm are enough to keep everything well buried.
With a soft sigh, you look Valentina in the eye.
"I don't trust the CIA."
Your boss chuckles, closing the file and crossing her legs. It's not exactly her best lie, but it seems to work on her.
"If this is about the Hydra clean-up in the public sector, I can assure you that we're safe." Valentina says. "Besides, your job is to trust me, Y/N. Not the CIA, or the Ten Rings, or any of your contractors. Only me, dear child, must you trust."
You bite your tongue hard, tears almost escaping this time.
"I just..." You try, not knowing exactly what to say. "There was a conflict, and the girl, she beat me. Effortlessly. That energy she possesses revealed my disguise immediately, I had no chance to try another one. So I made a choice, and I omitted the part that I thought would do me any harm. Isn't that what you taught me to do?"
Right answer. Valentina grins, before sighing and standing up. You don't want her to touch you, but she puts her hands on your arms and you resist the urge to pull away.
"I'm proud of you, you're getting cleverer every day. I want you to be this way, Y/N. Strong-willed, resourceful." She compliments you, her hands moving up to your cheeks. You try to smile, but Valentina squeezes your skin tighter. "That doesn't mean you will lie to me. Understand?" She asks but doesn't expect a vocal response. Your nod is more than enough for her to give you a fake smile and loosen her grip. "You're my most valuable employee. I don't want you to put yourself in vulnerable situations without a reason."
Valentina steps away, and you decide to take a chance.
"She's like me." It's more hesitant than you'd like, but it's enough to make your boss raise an eyebrow at you. Swallowing dryly, you continue. "Wanda and her brother were also Strucker's experiments. We are the same. I thought I could-"
Valentina interrupts with a spiteful chuckle that makes you cringe like a frightened child. "The same? Is that what you think?" She retorts in a mocking tone that makes you feel too ashamed to even broach the subject. Leaning her waist on the table, she looks at you. "I know you've been digging through my files on her, Y/N. I don't blame you for being curious, but by now, I imagine you know very well the conditions of the experiments Miss Maximoff was part of. How she volunteered for all that. How can you say you're the same?"
You hesitate uneasily. "I don't mind that she volunteered. War called for desperate measures. I just... I've never met any other of us. Another who survived the Baron. I've been thinking if I could just see her-"
Valentina bursts into laughter, and you fall silent, concentrating so that she can't see your red ears. "See her? Now what's that, huh? Romeo and Juliet of the supers? What an absurd idea, child!" Refutes your boss, still chuckling as she walks away to the table. She finishes her glass of wine in one long gulp, and to your surprise, throws the file in your direction. You catch the item flat against your chest. "The notes the Avengers made about you are on page 24. Read what she said about you, and draw your own conclusions about who you call an equal. I came here to confirm your mental state, and this conversation was enlightening. I'll arrange an assessment."
"Val-"
"It’s not open for discussions Y/N." She cuts you off, a car key already in hand that makes you groan to yourself impatiently. "You're not going back to work until you talk to Doctor Grand."
She leaves without saying another word and you're left alone with the file in your hands. Without hurrying, you flip to the page mentioned earlier and sigh when you find a photograph of Wanda wearing a uniform with the Avengers crest embroidered on it. Below is her statement about the mission.
You trace your fingers over the passage "An extraordinary and dangerous skill from an equally impressive fighter" but hesitate when you read the passages about how she felt scared and unsafe. About how she thought you were aiming at her. About how she felt she failed by not bringing a high-risk criminal into custody.
Your tears finally fall, staining the page before you quickly wipe them away, closing the file tightly after ripping Wanda's photo out.
It was time to wrap up loose ends and get back to your perfect record.
-&-
In the fake drawer hidden on the floor under your bed - safeguards for someone whose apartment is frequently visited by a two-faced countess - you kept some personal things. Hydra's last record of you, small souvenirs from missions, and a photograph of Wanda Maximoff.
And this morning - and any other morning really - you were supposed to ignore that drawer, leave any weapons at home, put on a presentable outfit, and meet Valentina in the lobby promptly at 10 o'clock. She would take you by car to Dr. Grant's office who would do a standard assessment of your mental state that would tell whether or not you were fit to return to work.
But instead, you took the photo of Wanda out of its hiding place and put it in your pocket. You stood up, walked through your closet, and chose the least flashy backpack you owned. Then you armed yourself with three different types of knives and two pistols in a chest holster, very similar to that of American detectives. And speaking of the police, your drawer of false documentation provided by Valentina was studied without haste until you had in your pockets the identity of a Shield agent who never existed but was meant to be a little tribute to the job you were performing today.
With your disguise ready, you left the apartment two hours before your scheduled meeting with Valentina, and you had barely boarded the ferry when she called you.
"Our appointments aren't something to be skipped, young lady." Stated the woman seriously, but you gave her a weary sigh.
"I don't wish to see Doctor Grant."
Valentina chuckled, as you handed your ticket to the clerk passing in the corridors. On the other end of the line, she then spoke;
"You're not getting away with this, Y/N. I'm not authorizing your return to work until Roland confirms to me that your mental state is stable for you to continue."
You prop your feet up on the seat, switching your cell phone to another ear. "Val, I'm not running away, I promise. I just needed a break. Give me a few days, okay? Reschedule the visit, I'll be there. I'll even be there early."
She pauses thoughtfully, you can hear her breathing. And then she sighs in defeat and you smile. "Okay. If it's any encouragement, your next service is already being prepared. It's something you've never stolen before, and I'd like it to be yours. Of course, if you prove suitable."
A few weeks ago, the temptation would have been too much and you would have turned around and gone to the appointment just to win Grant's approval and be cleared for the job. To prove not only to Valentina, but to the world, and to any other colleague, that you could complete that mission.
But now you let out a short laugh, and that surprises Valentina enough for her to keep quiet. "Reschedule for the end of the week. I guarantee that I'll have Dr. Grant's approval and you'll have your order in no time."
The promise seems to be enough for her, and after another sigh, Valentina hangs up. You put your cell phone away and return your attention to the now-stamped train ticket to New York.
The trip didn't take long, and within a few hours, you were in the bustling city. Especially today, at the inaugural Heroes of Earth celebration event, Manhattan was almost chaotic.
With fans and journalists from all over the world filling the streets that had been closed off for a sort of open-air Comic Con, you had no trouble at all going unnoticed in the crowd. You wore a disguise, of course, but you didn't have to. A few minutes into the fair, you really did look like a tourist, with your Avengers sweatshirt, cap, and colorful glasses.
The knives in your backpack were well hidden under the amount of superhero souvenirs you got.
You were trying to choose between an Incredible Hulk smash-burger or a portion of Thor's worthy chicken when the bell announcing the photo session with the Avengers was about to start.
Your appetite disappeared, anxiety taking over your whole body at once.
It was time to move.
The queue was huge, as was to be expected. At least, most of them were there for the best-known Avengers. Thor wasn't even on Earth, which meant that the other five originals were competing with each other over who got the most autographs. The new members, like Wanda, the Falcon, or Vision, were given presentation stands but had much more free time at the event.
You tried to ignore the pang of pride when you saw that among the new members, the queue of people to see Wanda was the longest. A considerable number of children were very excited to ask her to do magic tricks.
Your strawberry milkshake - Black Widow's Special - almost fell out of your hand when you finally saw Wanda leave the curtains dividing the dressing rooms and join the autograph table.
She wasn't wearing the soft hoodie with the Avengers symbol from the photograph you sneak a peek at almost every night, nor was she wearing the pathetic disguise she wore the first time you saw her. No, somehow, she managed to look prettier. Like all her teammates, she was wearing an outfit similar to the official fighting uniform, probably designed just for the event. With a black tactical outfit covered by a red jacket, the gloves that didn't cover her fingers were probably your favorite part.
Despite her relatively unfriendly uniform, Wanda offered such lovely smiles to the people who came to greet her that you thought the milkshake made you sick, judging by the way your stomach and heart were unsettled.
When the Meet & Greets began, you had to go to the ticket booth and buy a single ticket in cash; to meet Wanda, of course.
It would take place back in the fair's improvised dressing rooms, and after waiting for almost forty minutes, you were finally guided inside. Your backpack wasn't searched, perhaps because your weapons were hidden by Ten Rings technology, a gift from Xu Xialing on your last assignment, and when it went through the X-ray at the entrance, all they detected were the countless fair toys you had acquired. And the knives hidden in your body, well, it's obvious to say that when it comes to changing aspects of your anatomy for any situation, passing a security search was quite easy.
"Miss Maximoff will be here in a minute. She had a little problem with her costume, the children who came in before you caused a little milkshake accident."
One of the organizers informed you, and you gave her a kind smile, commenting that the Black Widow special was essential, even if it might cause minor accidents. The employee chuckled before going to answer a call on her communicator that could have been your intentional flooding of one of the toilets to occupy as many of the staff as possible.
Wanda's dressing room was the most intimate environment of hers you've ever been in. It didn't have many things, of course, but for someone who only had access to government documents, it was paradise.
Curious fingers traced all the belongings you could reach, from more comfortable pieces of clothing for her to change into during the event, to different types of tea and books, until you found a music device.
The password protection on a Stark Industries MP3 player made you laugh to yourself. "What a distrustful little witch." You murmured affectionately, stowing the item in your jacket pocket and moving over to the schedule board.
You had already read the row that marked the start of the Meets, probably described there and in all the other dressing rooms, when your gaze caught a small notebook forgotten in one of the armchairs.
You got the chance to take it in hand and smile at the sketches on the first few pages before the item was suddenly lifted and pulled out of your hand.
"Sorry, but this is private." Wanda grabbed the item out of the air, but you stood there, static like a frightened animal, unable to breathe properly under her gaze. She seemed to realize that she had been too harsh and huffed out a laugh, the notebook clutched tightly against her chest. The sound made you swallow. "I shouldn't have kept you waiting, I guess you got bored. Sorry about that. Let me put this away, and we can, um, get started."
She didn't use magic to return the book to a safe place, you didn't know that yet, but Wanda was still learning to trust her powers. And if she could help it, she usually didn't use them.
She approached you, to put the book away in a bag that you didn't have a chance to peek into, and the sudden movement made your body react in alarm. Your back hit the schedule board, and Wanda frowned, stopping in her tracks with an almost hurt look on her face.
"You don't have to be scared. I'm not going to hurt you, you know." She murmured with the tips of her ears red. "I'm just going to put my notebook away, you see." The backpack floated towards her with a tug, and Wanda hardly met your gaze after that. She tossed the bag into a corner of the room and fiddled uncomfortably with the edge of her blouse.
She was no longer wearing the outfit she'd worn before, she was wearing a comfortable set, too soft and domestic for you to be calm-minded about anything.
You forced your brain to work because you thought the whole thing was getting ridiculous.
"I'm not scared." Your voice comes out very hoarse, so you clear your throat. Wanda raises her eyes, finally, and the green irises make your cheeks warm. You don't hide it from her. "As a matter of fact, I'm not the one who usually gets scared when we meet, am I, Maximoff?"
Taking the time she needed to understand, you removed your colored glasses and cap, your face changing back to its original appearance. Wanda sighed shakily as soon as she recognized you.
"Hi, Y/N." She greeted, too sweet for you to do anything but smile shyly, forgetting for a moment exactly what you had come for.
"Hello, Wanda." You tried to sound just as gentle, but you must have done a poor job, to blame it on your body that doesn't seem to be working properly. Wanda swallows dryly, her hands moving slowly in the air. You watch the unhurried gesture - the way her fingers draw the air, and how the items of disguise float away to the armchair, and in your hands appear handcuffs that don't prevent you from moving them, and don't hurt either. The most you feel is a tickle.
"I've come all this way, just for you to put me in chains, little witch." You try to tease her, and you think it's a victory the way Wanda tries to hide a smile, approaching with her head down until she's close enough to touch you.
Her hands should be gripping the magical handcuffs, but instead, they hold yours. Wanda sighs.
"You can't be here." She whispers, meeting your eyes, and you think it's ridiculous that you made any plans at all. You could never do anything to harm Wanda, and that was just the truth. "Then why are you?"
Unlike her, you don't hide your smile. You shrug as if your heart wasn't thumping in your chest, and revel in playing with Wanda's buttons.
"I was in the neighborhood. Wanted to say hi." Your casual reply makes her snort impatiently.
Her hands release yours, and you raise an eyebrow at Wanda's audacity to start searching you.
"Wow, take me on a date first, love." You joke, but despite the new color her cheeks acquire due to the joke, the fond nickname, Wanda doesn't stop. She gropes in your pockets, reaches into your jacket, and grimaces with disapproval at every illegal item she finds. The false documents, the Shield badge, the guns. The MP3 is in the front pocket and Wanda gets a little closer to reach it, enough so that you have to lick your lips trying to control the instinct to break the distance. She just looks so kissable and smells so good.
She offers you an incredulous look at the stolen item, which floats back to the table as she gropes for the other pocket. Finding the train ticket, she lets out a short laugh.
"Six hours of travel is not being in the neighborhood." She comments, raising her eyes to you.
"What do you want me to say?" You retort with a little smile, discourteously glancing between her eyes and her lips. "That I couldn't help myself and had to get on the first train to see you again? That I can't even go back to work because I can't stop thinking about you?"
There's this thing that Wanda's eyes do. The pupils get huge, and the green darkens. And she looks at you as if you were something to be devoured in every detail as if you were worth admiring. As if you were worth any of her time.
She speaks again, so low and hoarse that you wouldn't be able to hear her if you weren't close.
"Your thoughts are loud. Are you always so hard on yourself?"
You swallow dry, caught off guard. Your hesitation makes Wanda sigh. She looks ready to apologize when you nod.
"It doesn't matter, every time we bump into each other, you make me feel different. Better. You look at me as if you can see more. What do you see, Wanda?"
She sighs deeply, and her hands move to touch your face. It's too gentle, and affectionate in a real and true way that you never experience. Your body goes rigid, not knowing how to handle the tenderness, but Wanda doesn't catch any request for her to stop touching, so her hands continue to hold your cheeks.
"I can see your anger, just as I can see your fear. I see the thief, and the murderer, but I can also see only you. No disguises, no lies. The person you are underneath it all." She says, swallowing dryly as she lets her gaze fall to your lips. "This is the person I let get away. And the person I'd like to meet, if you'll let me."
Your chest is heavy with confusing feelings. Your traumas beep in unison, your defenses beg you to push Wanda away and flee before the rest of the Avengers decide to show up.
But instead, you return watery eyes to Wanda and gasp softly; "Why? Why do you care?"
And Wanda tries to lie. "I think you could use a friend."
You chuckle dryly, pulling away from the touch. "Hard pass." You mutter, but Wanda doesn't let you move away entirely. She decides to risk everything.
She grabs your chin and tilts your face towards her. It's a miscalculated kiss, you both flinch and gasp at the first contact of your lips and being taken by surprise makes you lose your balance in the middle of the movement to get away from her.
You fall into the armchair, and Wanda should apologize, but she doesn't even bother. She pushes your tense shoulders and straddles your lap, this time, when her mouth meets yours, it's much hungrier and more determined.
The handcuffs disappear into thin air with the first gasp that leaves her lips, and you waste no time in grabbing her waist, roughly pulling her down and holding her tight against you as your mouths move together. It's a passionate kiss full of urgency, charged with all the tension you've built up.
Your tongue slides into her mouth without warning, more experienced than Wanda, you manage to get a whimper out in no time. She wants to shrink away from the sound, but your hands slide down to grab her ass and pin her down onto your front, and suddenly all she can do is moan.
It seems absurd that you've gone a lifetime without kissing Wanda Maximoff when you both seem molded to do this with perfection.
You don't even move apart to breathe, a battle of restless hands and hungry mouths panting against each other. Wanda begins to grind herself into your lap in search of friction and you let out a sound you didn't know you could make.
Everything is suddenly so hot that Wanda doesn't hear her surroundings. She doesn't hear the curtain or the footsteps. But she definitely hears the machine man's surprised exclamation.
"Oh, forgive me, Wanda." Vision's back is turned the second he catches a glimpse of what's happening in that armchair.
Wanda jumps away as if she's received a jolt, and you groan in displeasure at the interruption. Despite the way every cell in your body seems to be vibrating with euphoria, you manage subtle changes in your face that prevent the Synthesized from recognizing you if he decides to turn around. "I didn't mean to interrupt-"
"Vis, please leave." She demands with ragged breathing, her face bright red. Wanda looks neither at you nor at Vision.
The man clears his throat, stuttering. "Of course, Wanda, I'm so sorry." He says, but although he mentions leaving, he doesn't. Stopping just before the curtain, he risks a glance over his shoulder. "There was a forced distraction with criminal indications in the western sector, the fair has already been interrupted. The captain has asked everyone to gather for a patrol check, in case there's an attempted attack. I just wanted to warn you. It would be appropriate to send your... friend away." explains the machine, exchanging a quick glance with Wanda before leaving the dressing room.
You'd like to kiss her again, but Wanda sniffles at Vision's departure and you frown in a mixture of concern and confusion.
"That's why you're here, isn't it?" She deduces annoyed. "To try a bloody attack on a children's fair? God, I’m so stupid. You’re obviously using me to distract your partners-”
But you stood up with an impatient sigh for the anxious and nervous conclusions of an avenger who has been caught in the act.
You grab Wanda again and kiss her hard enough for her to lose her balance, and she ends up pressed against the schedule board, and then the coffee table, each kiss more desperate and heated than the last.
Your thigh presses between hers, and Wanda practically meows at the friction. You love how responsive she is to your touch, and you try to push a little further under her clothes, quickly addicted to attracting more sounds.
And you're almost to the edge of her bra when you're interrupted again.
"Jesus, Maximoff, what the hell is going on here?" Unlike Vision, Natasha Romanoff is much more serious and determined to put an end to the whole thing. And she cares little about what was happening against the table. You hide the change in your features on Wanda's shoulder, while also trying to control your own breathing, somehow much more aroused than before. "We're working, Maximoff. There may be terrorists on the perimeter and you're here, well, I'm not judging, I'm just saying there's an appropriate time for everything. I'm sure your friend will survive if you let go of her mouth for a few hours. Who knows, maybe next time you can meet in a more appropriate place?"
When you finally look at Nat, you can see that she's hiding a teasing little smile. You're glad that Wanda is making friends.
And unlike you, who doesn't mind having been caught not once but twice by the Avengers, Wanda looks like an embarrassed tomato who nods quickly while her magic does the work of adjusting your half-open clothes and leaving the objects you bump into in order again.
"Of course, Natasha, I'll send her away. I'm sorry." Wanda practically pushes you out, dragging you to a more secluded area at the back of the dressing rooms.
She tries unwillingly to resist your eager hands or the quick but intense kisses you steal from her on the way.
"You have to go." She struggles to gasp, her hands pushing your shoulders to stop the whole thing or she wouldn't be able to think.
Wanda with her hair disheveled after a proper make-out session, her face flushed and her lips swollen is too much for you.
"Fuck." You gasp and she swallows.
"What?"
You don't know what to say, nothing seems enough. She's awakened something in you that you didn't know existed. Suddenly, the idea of staying away from her seems an impossibility.
"When will I see you again?"
She frowns at the question, laughing nervously. "We shouldn't have seen each other even today."
But your hands pull her by the waist. "Nonsense. We should definitely do this again.” Your lips trail down her jaw, to the sensitive points on her neck that you're trying to memorize. She sighs, and struggles to keep her eyes open, but only for a moment before she pushes you away again, laughing shyly.
"Please, darling, I need to get back, my job-"
"There's no attempt attack, I flooded a toilet so I'd have time to see you." You clarify quickly and Wanda has to shake her head and laugh incredulously.
"You're nuts."
"Honestly? Yes. I think I've figured out what was wrong with me over the last weeks. You’re driving me nuts, Wanda Maximoff. I can't stop thinking about you." You retort quickly, not caring about the irregular beating of your pulse, nor the way she blushes heavily. "I need to know when I'm going to see you again."
She looks back into the dressing rooms and can see that Natasha is coming out through the curtain. She approaches you at once to give you one last intense kiss and whispers goodbye on your lips as you part.
With every inch of skin that Wanda touched vibrating and your heart pounding in your chest, you only remember to regulate your powers and return to a disguise a good few minutes after she has disappeared from sight, and hope that no security cameras saw you there.

Destined Part 2

Warnings: Kidnapping, mentions of killing I know this part is really bad but I promise the next one will be better

Kamar taj is not like anything I had expected it to be. It was a fortress with many young sorcerers training or that's what they were supposed to be doing. Instead they all stood still, waiting for the fight that was bound to happen.
I stood downstairs with America as the roof above us shook violently signifying the fight that was happening upstairs.
“We have to get you out of here.” Strange spoke as he entered the room. Wong explained to us that Kamar taj had fallen and I took a deep breath. I knew Wanda was capable of a lot of things but killing a bunch of innocent people like this? This was madness.
Suddenly the doors began to slam shut and people disappeared into puddles.
We had to quickly cover all reflectable surfaces but America was too slow and suddenly Wanda appeared in front of us. Wanda made eye contact with me before she went on to explain how her multiverse self had children in every other universe. How those children weren’t just hers but mine.
“None of that is real Wanda.” I spoke, stepping forwards ignoring America pulling my arm back. “At least not in this universe. You choose your life. You choose to cheat on me with vision. To create a life and children with him. Not me.” Wanda took a step towards me and softly caressed my face with her hand before gripping my jaw tightly. I heard a gasp from behind me and could feel the way Strange prepared himself to step in.
“You do not get to speak to me that way, little one. Even if you may not think so, you are still mine. Once I get America's powers I am going to get our children and we will be a perfect family. Now step out of my way.” She releases the grip on my jaw and I step back towards Strange and America.
“I'm sorry Wanda but I will not let you kill a kid or tear apart a happy family.” With my words Stange sends a creature towards Wanda but she is quick to fight them off and send Strange flying into a wall. She lifts America into the air and I am quick to send a white burst of energy flying towards her but she only dogages it glaring at me.
“Stay back” She growls as she uses her magic to cuff my arms behind my back.
I watch in horror as Wanda uses her magic to suck the energy out of America.
“STOP STOP. WANDA STOP!” I shout and her attention turns back to me. “Don’t hurt her!” I scream again. Suddenly everything seems to go in slow motion as I watch Strange jump towards America knocking her back into the portal she had created. I hear Wanda scream angrily as it closes right behind them and then I feel the pain in my head as she grips my hair tightly dragging me outside.
I say nothing as tears fall down my face from both the pain and the destruction around me. And nothing as suddenly my vision goes black.
When I wake up I look around confused as I notice my surroundings. Looking around I notice I'm in a bedroom. There are curtains half open on the windows and the door leading out of the room is cracked open. Slowly I sit up and begin to make my way towards the door. My eyes widen as I look down the hallway and see Wanda step out of a portal and into the living room.
When she sees me she smiles and beckons me over.
“I'm glad you're finally awake Bunny. Come have a seat.” When I refuse to come towards her she frowns and flicks her wrist sending me flying towards her. Out of fear I attempt to send an energy blast at her but panic when I realize I can’t.
“What did you do to me!” I yell as I struggle against her magic.
“Just a little spell to keep you in line. Your powers do not work anymore. Thanks to the dark hold our powers are no longer balanced.” She speaks as if it's the most simple thing in the world.
“America did you..?” I ask, remembering the portal she had just created.
“No. Her and Strange got away. The portal was to my throne.” she takes a look at my confused face before giggling. “You're such a naive little bunny. At first my goal was to gain America's powers so that I could steal the life of my counterpart but once she got away I figured why do that when I can just have my own. Even if I have to make you give me what I want.”

❀ Non-con, dubcon, Captivity, restraints, slight experimentation, shapeshifting! Wanda, the ocean, sailing on a boat, a storm, shipwreck, a little bit of violence, virgin!reader (she has never had a sexual encounter, period. So she is very innocent), Wanda doesn’t know human anatomy lol, oral (r receiving), forced orgasm, overstimulation, fingering, (this next part is major whump, so PLEASE heed the warnings) Sewing readers legs together for a punishment, holding reader under the water until they pass out, screaming, lots of screaming, making someone stay unconscious with telekinesis, quick acceptance, soft-ish wanda, some fluff, Stockholm syndrome, (if there is anything else PLEASE let me know!!)
❀ Disclaimer and Authors Note: The pictures only represent aesthetics and themes. There is no certain skin color, body type, ethnicity, or description other than Y/n and “you”. I hope you like this! The pictures go to their rightful owners on Pinterest, and the comic-style picture belongs to the beautiful artist Jenifer Prince. I also have a really big feeling that Mermaids' love language is gift-giving. Because… stuff is all they find lol!
This is for @eloquentreverie 's Dusk Till Dawn writing challenge! I chose the lines “All you are is a liar…” “My love for you is not a lie.”

Bright rays of sunshine reflect off the water, not one cloud in the sky.  The perfect conditions for sailing. You had been planning this trip for ages, and the perfect time has never been seen before now. Packing your bags was an easy task, all that was left was prepping your boat. Aphrodite is what you call her. The beautiful sailboat your father had left for you.
The sails are off-white, the texture of a canvas. In a way, this boat is its own form of art, and the beautiful name that your father picked fits perfectly. She was small, livable, and durable. It could withstand the fiercest of storms, waves, and monsters. Monsters, that you at least think are real. They were all just myths your mother told you about.
Mermaids that left trinkets on the helm of each ship they came across, an octopus-like creature pushing the boats in the wrong direction, and even the ocean itself; a lively source of nature that will always lead the way when these malicious creatures have any form of malicious intentions.
Making your way down to the pier, you are stopped by a villager, an older woman who knew your father very well. “Y/n! Y/n! Come here, I have something for your travels!” You hear from her frail yet powerful voice. She gently grabs your hands and pulls you into her home, making you giggle softly as she sits you on her couch.
“Now, I knew I would see you today because of the conditions out… there. I have this for you, wishing you safe travels and return.” She puts a dainty necklace in the palms of your hands. “It was a gift from your mother, she had told me to wait until you were older, and I think now would be the perfect time.” She smiles as you look at the beautiful oval-shaped locket.
“My family and I really love you, Eleanor. Thank you for taking such good care of us.” You smile up at her, closing your fingers around the locket with a picture of both your mother and your father. “Thank you, really, for everything.”
She shakes her head, “The only thing you owe me is a hug and a proper goodbye.” She says, opening her arms for you. You happily oblige, wrapping your arms around her hunched body. She was like a grandmother to you even when she was just a family friend, but you most definitely loved her as a grandmother.
“I love you so much, and I will most definitely bring you some trinkets if mermaids ever leave anything for me.” She chuckles in response and waves you off, sending you on your way to uncertainty.
Entering the deck of your boat was a feeling of freedom that you had longed to feel ever since the death of your parents. It was difficult to make it through the day without breaking down into your most vulnerable form; A sobbing, shaking mess.
Standing at the helm brought mixed emotions. You were finally here. You were finally able to feel like the woman your mother described you as. “You are a brave, independent, beautiful girl Y/n. You will do amazing things one day. That may be tomorrow or ten years from now. But amazing things they will be.”
Those words stuck with you from the day she died. Those words were what drove you to sail alone after all these years. She told you that you were brave, and that was all it took to motivate you to learn, grow, and persevere in your passion for sailing.
Now all you had to do was make sure you had enough food, water, and supplies in the cockpit, untie the sails, and mark the coordinates on your map. Once those subjects were taken care of, the last was to untie Aphrodite from the pier and raise the anchor and you are all good to go!
With the small gusts of winds every now and then, it would take about 6 to 7 hours for you to make it to your destination. That is if there is no storm, headwind, or pirates that you have to worry about. Crossing Captain Barnes is on your list of “most feared encounters” and you could not imagine getting stuck with him, let alone see him. Rumors say he lost his arm to the Kraken and used the gold from a found treasure to make a new arm. A much more dangerous one than he already had.
The thought of seeing him gives you chills in of itself, so you decide to put your mind to something else. You begin to steer the boat in the direction of your destination, your blue navy-themed sailing dress your mother made you flowing in the wind. You smile as the smell of salt and cold water fills your nose, the ocean and wind guiding you in the right direction.
~~~~~~~~ 3 hours later ~~~~~~~~
The clouds had come out of nowhere, casting a large, dark shadow over Aphrodite. The wind was skin-biting and strong, the waves getting unruly as she becomes angry with something. What? You had no idea. You had prepared for this, but the worst thing that could happen happened.
As you put on your dark blue cloak to keep warm, a large wave crashed over your boat. With much luck, Aphrodite held strong and pulled back up from the water. Raindrops soaked your clothes as well as waves that rolled over the surface of your boat. As you were pulling on the sails, you froze in fear. A colossal wave formed. Bigger than anything you have seen, towering over you. At this point, you knew your fate and you fully accepted it.
As the wave crashed over your boat, the water engulfed you into a frigid and bitter hug. The sheer force of this wave cracked your beautiful boat in two, ripped the sails a part as if it was cut by scissors, and lastly shredded your near-perfect map to shreds. It was a saddening sight to see to anyone on the outside.
As your vision fades to black, numbness takes over your system and you are finally at rest.
Or so you thought.
“Is she ok? She- Oh she’s breathing! She looks ok, just a little roughed up.”
‘Squawk!’
“She’s a human! She’s beautiful, she looks so cute in this little dress of hers.”
‘Squawk!’
“Can we keep her?”
A pause…
“Let's bring her inside, but we have to make sure she doesn’t escape. Grab some of the rope from her boat, that will hold her.”
“She scared? She scared?” The animal squawked.
“For certain…”
The voices were faded and muffled, and you felt like you were held in a bubble. Everything was quiet. The voices were smooth, siren-like, minus the power. There was something dark in the woman’s voice that hovered over you. There was something in her voice that sounded almost… dark and evil. As if she had malicious intentions with you.
Your eyes fluttered open at the sound of waves crashing against the sand, but you were not on the beach anymore. You were in a cave, a dark, cold, dreary cave. With a pounding in your head, you moved your hand to your temple. Well, tried to. You look to your left, letting your eyes get used to the darkness and you see rings of rope around your wrist, holding you to a rusty bed frame. Looking to your right you see the same.
Struggling was your first instinct, but you were frozen in place. It was fear taking over your body and you didn’t know what else to do. There wasn’t much you could do in your state. It was so cold, and you couldn’t find a way to get warm.
“H-hello?” Your voice echoes in the abyss of the dark cave in front of you and you have yet to hear anything other than that. But moments later, other voices fill the cavern's echos.
“I wonder when she will wake up, oh I sure hope it’s soon.” One voice said. Were they talking about me? You think to yourself.
“Well, when she does, it will be quite the surprise don’t you think?” That voice, it was the voice that sounded evil…
In an instant, the dark cave was filled with lowly lit torches. From what you could see was a room full of different trinkets, a makeshift vanity with a sea-glass mirror, shelf portions of the cave filled with sea shells, and lastly her.
A beautiful woman walks into the cave carrying what looks to be wood, sail rope, some canvas sails, and cloth. It took you a moment to realize that these were parts of Aphrodite. Your precious boat.
“Ah, she’s awake.” The woman says to her accomplice, a parrot on her shoulder.
“Awake! Awake! Awake! Awake!” The parrot responds, making the woman let out a soft chuckle.
“Please, let me go!” You plead.
“No, you are mine now and I get to do what I please,” She gives you a smug smile and sets her trinkets and shells down on her vanity. You watch her carefully, salty tears falling down your cheeks as you pull at the ropes around your wrists. “There is no coming out of those ropes, darling. I know how to tie a good knot” She emphasizes the ’t’, making you jump slightly in response.
“Such a curious creature humans are. They move around on these water contraptions just to go see another piece of land. Can you imagine that?” She says, chuckling at her own question. “Well of course you can, you were doing just that!” She moves towards the makeshift seaweed and canvas bed and sits on the edge.
“I have yet to see a real human up close and see what they are really like. How much pain and torture they can take, just like my sisters had to endure.”
Her intentions scared you, and her smirk told you that she already knew that. “P-please don’t hur-” she cut you off with a laugh and a mockery of your fear.
“Puh puh puh, please! Oh don’t be so cute, I love hearing screams of fear…” She leans close to your face, her tongue sliding against your cheek and picking up a tear. “Mmmm, tastes so good. I can’t wait to taste the rest of you.” You whimper as her eyes turn bright red and before you know it, the clothes are ripped from your body leaving you nude, cold, and exposed. You flail your feet attempting to kick her, but she quickly pins them down and wraps more rope around them, connecting them to the bed posts at the bottom.
She shakes her head at your action and gently slides her fingers over your now exposed belly, “Nuh uh, none of that. We don’t need anyone else to get hurt, right?” You shiver in response, making her smile grow even bigger. “Oh, so you feel me…” She realizes and she runs her fingers up your belly, and to the valley of your breasts.
Your reactions are very minimal at first, but then she starts going in other directions. “Hmm, I have little buttons like these too, I wonder what yours do?” She moves and grazes her fingers over your nipple, making you shudder. A new feeling has come to you, and the woman takes note. “Ah, how interesting. This little bud of skin is much more sensitive than the skin over here…” She does the same motion of rolling her fingers but with just a small section of skin from your breast.
“What if we do both?” She inquires, moving both her hands above your breasts. Taking both nipples in her fingers, she smiles at your reaction of curling in on yourself. The little noises you make are what set her off. “Wow, how amazing,” She whispers, smirking at your reaction. As you whine and shake your body slightly, you try to get her off of you, but she is just pulled towards you again.
“Someone is a little feisty,” She slaps your breast harshly and you yelp in pain. She chuckles and stands up. “Now let me introduce myself. I am Wanda, and as you can see I take the shape of a human, like you. But I am nothing of the kind. I have morals.” She pauses, and moves between your spread-open legs. “When I got the ability to use my shapeshifting power, I first wanted to try to be human. Just to see what it feels like to walk and run. I liked it at first, but then came this feeling that I can’t describe. It is like a fire was lit right here,” she puts her hand just above your lower regions, goosebumps pebbling at the touch of her skin on yours.
“There was nothing I could do to put it out. So I explored down there… I have a button down there just like up here,” She rolls your nipples in her fingers once again, making you whine in protest. “Oh, my Poseidon… it felt heavenly when I rubbed it just right. I thought the feeling would never end! But then it did… it felt like I exploded. It was like getting caught in a wave, only to fall back down into warm water again.” She smiles down at you from her spot between your legs.
“I want to see if you feel it too.” She smirks and you whimper as you pull at the restraints around your limbs. Dismissing you, her fingers spread your slick petals and she gently rubs around the top of your pussy. A soft moan emits from your mouth and she gasps. “Oh, I think I found your button too,” Wanda continues to rub your clit, loving every single reaction from your mouth. With curiosity, she pokes at your entrance with her fingers. When she enters her fingers into your wet cunt, the moan from your mouth is beautiful.
“That was beautiful, I need to see more!” She exclaims and starts to move her fingers in and out of your hole while rubbing your clit. With never feeling these things before, you are like an exposed nerve and are oh, so, sensitive.
You soon start to feel what she was describing, the fire, the riding up the wave, and after seconds, the falling from that wave and into warm water. As you cum, she smiles at the feeling of your walls clenching around her fingers. “It feels nice, doesn’t it…” she states, not addressing it as a question. You vigorously shake your head, denying her. She smirks, knowing deep down you absolutely love it.
The ropes burn your limbs and you were tired. But Wanda was far from done. She had so much more planned as she was infatuated with your pussy and how it pulsed around her fingers. “Should we see how many more of these little episodes we can see today?”
“N-no! No, please no more, I- I want to go home, please,” You beg, knowing deep down you most likely won’t make it out of here. Not without a fight. Already you were scheming how you could possibly escape her, but your thoughts were shut down as Wandas' fingers intruded your hole at a fast rate. Her fingers moved in and out of your cunt, a burning feeling bubbling inside of you once again.
“Oh, you’re so wet down here, little one. I swear if I go too fast, there may be a tidal wave coming at me.” She smirks at her words, not slowing her pace as she curls her fingers in a ‘come hither’ motion. Your moans were music to her ears, like putting a sea shell to one's ear and hearing the beauty of the ocean on the other side.
Failing miserably, you try to quiet your moans. But the feelings are just too intense for you to handle. She leans down as she continues to pump her fingers inside of you and smiles as she licks along your red, hot clit. Your legs jolt once a more sensitive wave of pleasure falls over you, her tongue moving expertly over your little bud. Your back arches as much as it can with the bonds keeping you down and you try to enjoy your current state under Wandas' domination.
In a matter of seconds, you are crumbling at the feel of Wandas' three fingers inside of you as well as her tongue licking your clit over and over again. Cumming a second time was even more of an experience. You saw white as your orgasm came crashing over you once again. Whimpers come out of your mouth as tears are falling down your cheeks. It’s too much, and your cunt feels like it's on fire.
Finally, Wanda has had enough, and she lets out a sigh as she looks down at your abused petals. “Aw, look how red you are. You must be so sensitive, hm?” She chuckles at your fucked out sounds as she grazes your clit with the back of a finger, your hips pulling away in retaliation. You whimper as she suddenly stands up, her other fingers leaving your hole in an instant. You shudder at the emptiness, letting out a sob as your emotions take control of your body again.
“Sweetheart, don’t cry, we have just barely begun.” Her smile is malicious and full of evil. There is nothing welcoming about her smile, almost like the waxing gibbous, right before a full moon. Only a sliver of a smile of the night sky, then the werewolves come out. Her teeth were sharp but smooth enough to look human. But she was far from human.
You found out she was a mermaid while she let you roam the beach a little bit. All she gave you for clothing was a paper bag-type dress made out of the canvas of your sails, and a rope around your middle as a belt. She took the chains from the anchor of your boat and kept it around your ankle, the other end under a very heavy bolder that she moved with her powers.
While you stayed on the beach, chained to the rock that gave you the shade you needed, Wanda was hunting. There was a little bit of forest above the cave you both took shelter in, but she warned you to never go in there. Well, not without her. You were curious as to know if there was danger, or if she just didn’t want you out of her sight. But it was easy to say, she did not want you going anywhere.
Sitting on the beach was the little bit of freedom that you looked forward to every day. One hundred and eighty-two (182) days of being in Wandas' captivity. You learned on day seven (7) to never run away from her. She will make everything hurt. She will take everything away from you if you try to take yourself away from her.
On day seven (7), you found a way to rub the chain links together and break the loop off of your foot. Making sure she was in the water, you made a run for it on the wet sand of the beach. Trying to go around the island and then out into the ocean was your goal. Wanda sensed you were gone the second the chain broke. It was no use trying to swim away from a mermaid.
She caught up with you in a matter of seconds, her webbed tail making her swim much faster than you; A mere human. She grabbed your ankle from underneath the water, dragging you down to the ocean floor. Not too deep as she knows the pressure builds, but deep enough where you would not be able to escape. She smiled as you thrashed against her iron grip, your arms trying desperately to reach the surface, and the last few bubbles exited your mouth as you finally fell unconscious.
Once you were out, she pulled you to the beach, getting the water from your lungs and making sure you are breathing again. She sent a wave of energy over your body, keeping you in an unconscious state. Picking you up, your head hung over her arm as your legs hung over her other arm. She looked at your sleeping face in slight disappointment as you were doing so good the few days before this. She knew that the time outside was going to be limited as part of the punishment she was going to give you.
Laying you on the bed, she gathers a few trinkets she has found. Including a sewing kit. She looked over your body and stripped you of your canvas dress. She laced the rope around your arms and fastened them to the rusty bars above your head. Angrily, she stares, thinking of the things she is going to do to you when you wake up. She growls and pounces on top of you, grabbing your legs and putting them together. She takes more rope from your boat and wraps your thighs and ankles, rendering you unable to walk.
Now comes the painful part; She threads the thread through the eye of the needle and pinches the skin of your thigh. Carefully she puts the needle through your skin, puncturing through the layers mercilessly. As she pulls the thread through the hole in your skin, she meticulously sews your legs together in an intricate zig-zag shape from your left leg to your right leg. Once she gets to just above the rope around your ankles she hums at her work, making sure that you won’t be able to pull the thread out of your legs, even if you tried as hard as you could.
Waving her hand takes away the power keeping you unconscious, and she makes her way out of the cave, not wanting to hear your screams as you realize what she had done to you. Of course, she loved to hear you scream, but not in pain. It was never meant to be this way. If you had just listened and stayed where you were put, this never would have happened. As she transforms into her mermaid form, she dives into the ocean to cool off as she was much too angry to argue with you, worried she would kill you in the snap of a finger if you said the wrong thing to her.
You started to come to, becoming more and more aware of your surroundings by the second. Once again, you tried to move, only to be stopped by the ropes around your wrists, but there was much more than what was done to you last time. You looked to the source of the tension of your legs and your panic set in. Screams of pain and horror echoed through the cave, tears and sobs were heard for miles outside of the cave, and Wanda was nowhere near where she could hear them.
~~~~~~~
More than a few hours later, your sobs had calmed to nothing more than whimpers. Your legs were screaming in pain, blood dripping from each of the holes Wanda's needle had made, soaking the thread and keeping them together. You closed your eyes, hoping that someone would find you, help you, kill you. But your wishes were only met with more fear.
As Wanda entered the cave, she had a whole net of fish, more shells, and trinkets from the ocean floor, as well as the part of your ship you were going to miss the most: The picture of you, your father, and your mother. It was still in its gold-plated frame, the monotone black and white of the picture still prominent. “I brought you a couple things,” Wanda says, unapologetically. Setting the net down, she places a pink and coral-colored conch shell next to you on the bed, the picture, and what looks like a shell necklace that she put together herself.
You did not acknowledge her in the slightest. From the moment she walked into the cave, to the moment she begged you to talk to her. She even untied your arms and helped you sit up, but you didn’t say a word. In a fit of rage, she throws your body against the bed, letting you curl against yourself as you try to undo the thread.
“It's not going to come off. I put a spell on it, and until you talk to me, it will stay that way. Do you understand?” She holds your chin in her hands, her sharp nails digging into your soft, beautiful skin. You whimper in response, tears pooling in your eyes. A few fall, but Wanda is quick to wipe them away as you look up at her. She gives you a soft smile and your brows furrow. This smile is different, it's out of pity, and out of a different type of intent. “Please, say something…” She whispers, tears of her own filling her eyes.
“Wh-why did you do this to me?” You whimper, pulling your hands away from the thread and to your chest to cover yourself.
“Because you ran away… I told you to stay here, and you disobeyed me. This never would have happened if you just stayed, and enjoyed the sun like I so generously allowed you!”
Her eyes close, and she covers them with her hand. As she removes her hand, she sits down on the bed and her eyes soften as she looks at you. “I never wanted this to happen, love. You are mine, but I never wanted to hurt you.”
"All you are is a liar..." You respond, with no emotion in your voice, eyes, or heart. Wanda sighs and helps you sit up once again.
“My love for you is not a lie.” She says, moving to the floor as your legs drape over the side of the bed. She unties your thighs and ankles, her hands glowing a soft red color. Your legs lose feeling for only a moment, and you watch in awe as the thread is removed without pain or discomfort. It floats out of your skin, and the holes where it once was were closed. “Please forgive me, my little human. I won’t do this unless you make me angry. You won’t be punished if you don’t do something punishable. Do you understand me?”
You nod softly as the feeling returns to your legs. You stand up, as does Wanda. You stumble at first, but you slowly make your way out of the cave and over to the rock where your chain lay. You wrap the chain around your ankle and hold it up for Wanda to seal with her magic. She looks at you, confused.
“What are you doing?” She asks.
You sigh and you hold up your foot again. “Im showing you I can be good. That I can keep a promise of being good.” She understands and seals the lock over the two open links. You stand up again, and you make your way to the water. You have already accepted the fact that will rip the dress off of you when you get back inside anyway, so you stand in the sun, bathing in the warmth as you stand nude. You are grateful that the chain grants you the length to reach the water.
The waves make you sway slightly, and you close your eyes. Your destiny has proven itself, and you were to stay captive with Wanda.
Soon enough, day three hundred sixty-five (365) hits and you are smiling with Wanda. Happily letting her devour you every night to her heart's desire, as well as shower you with gifts and jewels she finds on her hunting trips. In a form of trust, you both agree to a collar around your neck. One that claims you as well as keeps you on the island when Wanda is away. It was a way for Wanda to make sure you were safe, and a way for you to feel secure in someone's watch. And if any pirates come to the island, it would notify Wanda if you were in danger.
She loved to see you in the sun, the jewels around your neck shimmering in the bright sunlight above you. A bright ruby right at the center of your neck, represents the love that Wanda has gifted upon you. Every morning when you woke up in her arms, you felt safe and sound, and no longer in danger of her. Of course, you were never going to make it home to Eleanore, so you threw a bottle with a letter in it into the ocean hoping that it finds her well.
Yours and Wandas' routine grew every day, her even letting you go for a swim. She would transform into her mermaid form, and you would hold onto her shoulders as she sped through the water at speeds you have never felt before. On other days, she would take you to the edge of the forest above her cave. She told you stories of the cannibals that lived among the trees but willingly agreed to keep on their side of the island and never venture past the river about a mile into the grove of trees.
You would tell stories of when you sailed with your father and cooked with your mother. Wanda loved to hear about humans and the hobbies or skills you can acquire with the right supplies and practice. She was infatuated with humans just as she was with you.
One of your favorite things to do with Wanda was lay out on the sand at night, a soft seaweed blanket underneath you both, the water reflecting the moon, and the stars shimmering above you. For every shooting star there was, you would point to it and give Wanda a soft kiss on her cheek, making her smile and return the kiss. That was a nightly ritual you both had and when the both of you had soaked up the moonlight for the perfect amount of time, she would take you inside and make love to you. She would worship you, and care for you. She gave you meaning in a world where you had no one else to be there for.
She loved you.
Your keeper loves you, yet you love her too.

part i of lush ministrations | series masterlist | main masterlist
Tumblr media
the paintings adorning the vaulted ceiling, proof of faith and wars, encapsulating the sacrosanct space. the divinity of the cosmic beings, the galvanic echo of every worshiper who ever knelt before the cross, a prayer for every miracle.
the whole crew of leviathan of light have gathered for the final shooting, excited spirits witnesses of the flamboyant setting, and none other than the two main stars — two goddesses molded into human forms, brazening each other accompanied by swords belted at their hips, prepared to swing with one mistake — fulfilling their roles as the camera rolls.
you know a mistake occurs when the director scratches the front of his neck, a blush forming there.
“do you really want me? or is this your way of getting back at my brother..?”
“CUT!”
no one notices the curl of your lip when the director yells the magic word, each and everyone filling the cathedral fixated over the two actors who are now having a small talk — one who provides encouragement, whilst the other spurting genuine apologies. “maximoff! what was that all about…”
“i’m so sorry, william. too much going in my head at-right now. can i take a 10? 15?”
you intently listen to the hollywood star who simultaneously stammers and sighs, bringing her best doe-eyed face; the one that brings her everywhere. you try your best to mask a smirk.
“of course, wanda.” an exchange of an understanding nod with a squeezed shoulder and you’re gritting your teeth, unable to take your sight off wanda’s exhale. pressing the circled button, you hear her faint yelp at the crawling pressure in her, each passing second sending her to hell. no one is supposed to touch her like that.
wanda shuts her eyes tight whilst biting her lower lip, crouching as she grips her sides, causing the clingy man to help her stand, putting his hold around her hips to support her, touching her in places only you could.
an uneasy groan erupts from your throat as you approach both co-workers, veiling your fume with a faux smile. “you okay?” placing your hands above where the director’s are, you tighten your grip around wanda’s waist to pull her over to your side. there’s nothing subtle with how you pushed his body away from her to stray, finalizing the interaction with, “i got her, thanks, william.”
“do you want to rest for a moment?”
miss hollywood nods her head, “yes but, maybe in the dressing room instead? i need-“
“say less, wanda. i’ll take care of you,” mumbling the last part is essential, shielding the exchange to the public eye. you escort wanda into the designated room, your arm possessively clutching her waist as she makes an effort to walk as normally as she does, declining the possible speculation that it’s like there’s something in between her thighs.
“please baby!” wanda maximoff moans the moment you lock the door, pushing you against the nearest wall and latching her lips onto yours. she opens your mouth wide with her fingers, snatching them open, aiming to suck at your upper lip and catching your tongue with hers.
it is rushing and sloppy, wanda pulling everything out of you because she needs you, because you’re the only one who could offer it to her. you’re smug about that, the provocation of wanda’s desperation to have you. with muffling moans and ragged breathing, you wrap your arms around wanda’s neck caressing the back of her hair as she grabs your sides, pulling your body towards her to grind on.
a wanton whine escapes her throat, nipping at your lower lip, “please,” shock overwhelming her she bites your lip hard it bleeds. she licks it clean, and then swirls her tongue with yours, tasting the copper-metal of your blood. “plea-mmm!” a vibrating hum replaces wanda’s begging, her body quaking at the stimulation, falling over you. her grip tightens as another pulls at your hair. “let mommy come, baby-“
“hush, stay quiet. come here,” you prod sharply as you guide her face with your free hand and lock her lips with yours, an encompassing tender kiss. you allow wanda to hump her clothed pussy against your thigh, the firm grip on your sides never ending. a squeak escapes her when you flip places, pinning her against the wall.
the actress shakes her head and pulls her face towards yours to capture the taste of your swelling lips but you are quick to pull away. you chuckle, “easy tiger,” pushing her shoulder blades to rest against the brick wall. wanda nods her head in defeat, “please, princess…” batting her doe-eyes. you chuckle, shaking your head. “that’s not gonna work with me.”
you breath hotly against her left cheek, “we have to be quick,” licking a stripe of her slender neck as you descend down towards the floor. “yes, baby. please me. please mommy,” wanda whimpers and tilts her head upwards, unbelievably enjoying how you handle her. she shivers as the shift of your hands deals with the buckle of the belt, undoing the zipper of her sponsored leather pants, the constricting clothes liberating her.
you let out a teasing noise, “hmmm,” rubbing your thumb on her clitoris, grinning up at her as it sloshes. “you hear that?” you husk and lick your lips, imitating her desperate nods, batting your eyes innocently. “yeah?”
the actress clamps her teeth to her lower lip to suppress a loud moan threatening to spill your dirty little secret as you insert two fingers in her occupied pussy hole to release the bullet wedged in her ever since 7 in the morning. it’s half past 3 in the afternoon now, and there’s nothing more sensual than a domineering woman having all the patience in the world.
you gasp, fake surprise coating your vicious, addicting face. “look what you were hiding in there, mommy!”
certainly drenched with wanda’s hot cum.
your frolic concludes as the hollywood star pushes your face against her pussy, your reflexes kicking in to lick her clean with your tongue.
“yes!” wanda hisses, grinding herself over to you. forcing her hips to plant themselves against the brick wall, “impatient twat,” you mumble, the vibration reminding the hollywood actress who’s barely keeping it together — hand against her mouth — of the toy nestled inside her warmth on set the whole time. you pocket the toy, bringing both of your hands to focus holding her thighs in place.
you refuse to tease wanda any longer, aware of her sensitive body caused by your amusement. watching the renowned wonder actress (derived from wonder woman) struggle reciting the most basic lines, and then enacting them in awe-striking emotions whilst you play with the remote control’s buttons, purposely pressing the highest setting when she was to do something elaborate. thus why miss hollywood deserves her awaiting release before the whole crew comes knocking down the dressing room.
“all the things i want to do to you…” she heaves as she alternates between caresses on your crown and pulling at your mane. you could only hum, lapping at her juices, drinking her in for your own pleasure. wanda’s hot cum drips straight through your welcoming mouth, the scent of butter and almond filling your nostrils.
flicking the tip of your tongue against the actress’ sensitive nub, you press your thumbs on her fleshy inner thigh, digging your nails into it to form red crescent marks. wanda’s legs quiver at the pain, a loud moan echoing inside the dressing room.
“mommy can’t take it anymore, prin-!” a high-pitched keen comes out and no matter how still she makes herself to be you know she can’t prolong it any longer. “do it for me then.”
being stared at by someone above you — beneath you — is a privilege so thrilling you’d be nailed at the cross for it. notably by the most gorgeous actress of the nation, wanda maximoff desperate to rut into your mouth. a moan can’t be helped, the brief cherished moment of having the biggest star — revered by many, applauded by the entirety of the land — her sweet and tangy, her slick and leaking cum.
your scalp burns from wanda’s fingernails scraping you as you fulfill your duty of satiating her, the warmth of her pussy slipping off your lips. you protest with a cry, latching your mouth back in her pussy, throbbing she is, sucking her clitoris getting to the pulse, quicker and quicker coming undone.
“mommy, mmm”
“come on, come on princess,” wanda encourages you, sucking her hard and wanton, the thought of her coming in your mouth is so intense the need becomes primal. “fuck, mommy, fuckkk,” your muffled curses sends wanda over the edge—
she’s riding your face now, your head bobbing up and down at the movement, every sip and slurp messing your face. incoherent promises and assurances coaxes out of her awful, dirty mouth, coming apart onto you.
wanda maximoff, professional as she is, typically an expert in keeping herself hushed in public spaces, especially on set in the middle of the day, howls blatantly like a wolf; hitting her head against the brick wall when she lolled it back, the clutch on your head so airtight you had to pull away from her pussy and bite her thigh. “what the fuck!”
you keep your hands holding her legs because sooner or later she’ll collapse, and you don’t want to be trapped under her.
“we’re never doing this again.”
a breathless chuckle flows out of you, catching your breath as you laid on the floor on your back. you glance across the actress and find her ass sitting on the floor with her back slumped against the naughty brick wall, her pants untucked.
“agreed,” you start now that you’re recovering your breath. “i would’ve teased you more if this wasn’t a quickie.” you stand up with your supporting palms, copying wanda’s position although without the wall.
“you’re dead when i get you home,” she barks, giving you the eye. you tilt your head and give her an eye smile, amused at her habits.
so you do what you know best.
you get on all fours, crawling onto the space in between her spread legs. you get close enough to feel the hitch of her stuttering breath, “i’m not coming into your humble abode then,” biting your lip as you stare at her blown out green obs, down to her lipstick-smudged lips, and back again at her siren eyes.
giggling as you get on your feet by wanda’s desperation to capture your lips again, “how long it’s been?” you leave her hanging, pacing around the dressing room until you find your half-empty apple juice box. you take a long sip, replenishing your system, lounging on the leather chair’s arm closest to the star. “seven.”
“good,” wanda lolls her neck to the side, momentarily closing her eyes. “then i have eight minutes left to ‘take a break’ before i get back on set, empty-handed.”
“that’s funny,” sarcastically, you reply, “i thought it was your pussy that was full.”
“y/n…don’t get started,” she warns, exhaustion and titillation coating her sweet face.
you huff and surrender, putting your arms in the air for great measure, “okay, alright, i’ll stop,” hopping off the leather chair and going over to the vanity mirror. “then we should get you touched up so they wouldn’t notice-“
“y/n?” wanda coughs, the sounds of shifting movement indicate she’s fixing her costume.
“yeah, wanda?” you pick the bobbi brown full coverage face brush and look at her from the far end of the dressing room.
“do you have a date tonight?”
“what,” you chuckle, “you asking me out?”
“o-of course not, cocksure. i was just curious,” her voice drifts and for a moment there’s silence, until wanda rises up from the floor.
“well i’m-“
“never mind i asked. could you send that blue-haired girl here? i have to ask her about the method she uses when she does her foundation trick…”
“let’s get you a touch up first, yeah? there’s no rush.”
“i- of course, just that the time-“
“don’t worry about it, miss hollywood,” you reassure with a tease, squeezing her stiff shoulders as she sits down in front of the vanity mirror. “you’re so flushed, they’d think you’ve ran a marathon,” you chuckle, dabbing the brush onto the finishing powder.
wanda grins, her lust-filled gaze focused on you. “it’s scientifically proven that you burn as many calories when you go to the gym.”
“you dork,” you shake your head, reapplying makeup to return to her fresh, doll-like appearance. “it’s alright,” she whispers, “i’ll just tell them i’ve done 100 push-ups.”
“vouch for me?”
a thick pause allows you to stare at wanda’s still green eyes, her pupils far from dwindling any time soon. it was always like that, anyway. you don’t miss the slight tilt of her head, a signal for her curiosity.
you grin, subtly sultry, mostly taunting. “of course, miss maximoff. you were doing a hundred push ups, while i watched sipping my apple juice, fantasizing on slurping you up instead.”
she slaps your shoulder playfully, “you’re coming home with me! whether you like it or not!”
you wonder whether she’s playing or not by the smile on her face. after sex glow has never looked good on her.

Warnings: This series deals with mature topics, including, but not limited to: death, mental health issues, physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, grief, trauma, general unwellness, illness (both mental and physical), and a most likely inaccurate portrayal of group therapy (though it’s much better than whatever was going on in TFATWS.) POSTING SCHEDULE: doesn’t exist because I am a liar who cannot follow directions I give myself
*This is not an alternate chapter, but this is a (hopefully) non-triggering summary of the chapter. Chapter seven is a heavier chapter, and is the source of that huge block of series warnings I put at the top of every chapter. Please stay safe and mind the warnings!

series masterlist. || main masterlist.
It was almost noon when you woke up the next morning, groggy and disoriented. As your brain caught up with your body, you registered warmth under your cheek, a gentle hand lazily stroking your hair; Wanda. The gentle rise and fall of her stomach could’ve lulled you back to sleep, might have too, if a traitorous yawn hadn’t given you away. “Look who’s awake.”
You turned over with a groan, hiding your face in Wanda as she giggled at your display. “You could’ve woken me up if you weren’t sleeping.”
Wanda pretended to think it over, not once planning on giving away that she’d be a fool to pass up the chance to commit the sight of you peacefully asleep on top of her to memory. “You needed your rest.”
Quiet moments like these happened to be Wanda’s favorites; where anything was possible and she could pretend that when you finally did awaken, she’d smother you in kisses and the two of you could roll around in bed for a lazy Sunday morning together. Where eventually, when she somehow pries you off of her, she’d stroll to the kitchen on shaky legs and make the apple cinnamon pancakes she remembered you telling her your mother used to make you as a child; the breakfast you missed most. And after a quick shower, you, not wanting to be anywhere else in the world, would sit at her small IKEA kitchen table and tell her all about your alcohol induced dreams.
All of that was possible until you woke up and you, the real you, sat up and stretched with an even louder yawn, casually reaching over her to grab the glass of water she knew last night you’d need right this minute. You drained the cup’s contents in one long gulp, setting it back on the nightstand before perching on the edge of the bed, one leg folded under you while the other dangled.
Wanda wished she could be the type to coax you back to bed, insist you sleep more and if not that, at least lay with her a little while longer, but the words sounded silly in her head and your imagined rejection stung her heart enough not to chance it.
You regarded her properly after a few slow blinks, taking in the sight of Wanda still half propped against her pillows, blankets now askew after you got up and tossed them aside. She looked smaller now, nestled amongst her plush bedding and looking up at you expectantly. The previous night’s events came back to you in a flash; the party, the game, the kiss that ended it, and the other that started something new. You cast a risky glance downwards, spotted perfectly patterned silk shorts and wondered whether the night’s hours alleviated any of that ache Wanda had tried subtly rubbing away with her legs as you fell asleep. Instead when you opened your mouth, a completely different line of questioning came out. “I shouldn’t be surprised you wear matching pajama shorts to bed.”
She knew you didn’t mean anything by it, but you were also blissfully unaware of the skimpier white one-piece she’d originally planned on luring you to bed with. The further away it got, the more Wanda wanted to hit herself for thinking she could ever stage such an after-party for you, on your first night out together no less. “I like to match! I shouldn’t be surprised you wear your street clothes to bed.”
Wanda was referring to your wrinkled t-shirt, the outstretched fabric and your underwear being your chosen sleepwear. Typically you did only wear a shirt, some old things you’d retired from your wardrobe and relegated to being strictly house wear until you officially wore it to shreds, “Well I didn’t have much choice, did I? You’re the one who asked me to stay, or would you rather I sleep naked?”
Laughter erupted from deep in your belly when the brunette’s jaw went slack, eyes wide as saucers, “You know that’s not what I meant! I don’t care what you wear!”
“Hey, your bed, your rules, princess. Just let me know for next time.” Next time, you’d said with a suggestive wink; if Wanda wasn’t already stunned into silence would surely send her rambling on.
Beside her earlier fantasies, she hadn’t factored in clothing, much less the absence of it. That train of thought sent her spiraling; she could see your legs in their entirety, goose pimpled from the cold air, but devilishly soft looking, but she was more curious to what lay under where you were covered— what you felt like, where you were most sensitive, if anywhere else made you shudder like Wanda discovered you did whenever she trailed her short nails over the nape of your neck.
“Think any harder and steam will come out of your ears,” you chuckled, getting up to uncover wherever you’d tossed your jeans. Messing with Wanda never failed to be an impeccably funny start to your day, but here, now, you had to put a stop to it. If you continued, you worried Wanda really would blow a gasket or worse, you’d push her so hard you’d break. “Don’t worry, I’m going off to go shower. I’ll leave you alone in a minute.”
Curious as Wanda was, you were exponentially so, wanting to snatch her up and take her and discover every place that made her tick. But Wanda was still drowsy, evident in the tiny yawns she hid behind her hands and how her head lolled against the headboard once she’d calmed herself down, and you needed her wide awake for everything you wanted.
So, admittedly, you were a little shocked to turn around after slipping on your shoes to find Wanda not only sitting fully upright, but with a very obvious forlorn look across her features. “You’re leaving?”
You shrugged, so casually her frown only deepened, “I know you like to clean on Sundays, don’t want to be in your way.” Not the real reason, but true enough to be believable. Wanda was notorious for her Sunday cleaning, preferring to start her week out as organized as possible. You told yourself to stop, not to tease her anymore, but she looked so akin to a kicked puppy you couldn’t help it, “What’s wrong, miss me already?”
Maybe she hadn’t fully coped with the loss of her fantasy day, or she’d lost her patience altogether, but whatever it was, Wanda wanted to cry. Again. She hated it, despised that instinctive response, and wanted to do anything to deflect that energy. So she picked up an unused pillow and launched it. The fluffy object flew at your face before you could catch it, smacking you with a dull thud. “Not with that attitude, I don’t.”
Her outburst gave Wanda enough time to wipe her eyes, ensuring there weren’t any tears that couldn’t be passed off as sleepiness; by the time your vision returned, she was sitting with her arms folded defiantly over her chest, pointedly avoiding having to look at you. Wanda was strangely huffy, but instead of catching her genuine disappointment, you wrote it off as morning crankiness and tossed the pillow back to her side. “Just for that, you’ve forfeit your goodbye kiss.”
You were joking really, having not even thought about giving her another kiss because she’d had yet to mention the others, but Wanda didn’t know that. She shot up in an instant, shuffling over to where you stood at the end of her bed and flinging her arms around you in an apologetic hug. “No wait, I’m sorry! I don’t know what came over me I just-”
One gentle finger pressed against Wanda’s mouth, silencing her until all she could do was gaze up at you with pleading eyes from where she’d planted her chin on your chest. “You don’t want a kiss right now anyways, I haven’t brushed my teeth yet.”
Wanda shook her head, brushing off your excuse, “Neither have I…” If you were going to leave, she wouldn’t let you without the one thing she knew she could have. She’d make peace with her boring Sunday cleaning alone in her apartment, the lack of you, all of it, if she could face the day freshly kissed.
“Just one. We’ll make it quick,” You couldn’t deny her, not when you felt envious of her own teeth, biting down on her pink lower lip like you’d briefly done last night. Your thumb pried the flesh away from her grip, promptly replacing it with your mouth. It was meant to be a simple peck, short and sweet, but when the tip of your tongue accidentally brushed Wanda, she gasped— a tiny, quiet thing that sucked you right in.
Wanda parted her lips as you nudged against them once more, let the rough surface of your tongue slide over the straight row of her teeth and surrendered herself to whatever this new blissful feeling was. She could taste the last bits of alcohol on you, much less than the times previous, and having fully sobered up, your lead was more sure, more insistent, and it made Wanda’s legs tremble.
Somewhere in your embrace, the brunette’s arms fell from around your midsection and you pulled away, allowing you both air and her to fall back to her seated position. She touched her fingers to her lips, tried to ignore the tingling in her core that begged her to press just a little bit harder into the mattress for the friction it so desperately craved.
You had to leave Wanda there, her wildly lost expression too much for you to handle. “Text me when you’re free, princess.” You ruffled her already messy hair before leaving, the action coming across way too platonic for the intensity you’d just shared.
She heard her apartment door click, signaling she really was alone, and she planned to get up, honestly. But as her legs parted to move, a thick fold of her comforter dragged over her clothed center and Wanda couldn’t talk herself out of doing it again.. and again… and again until the lace underwear she’d picked to hopefully show off to you when she got home were thoroughly soaked.
It was all too easy to sink back into her fantasy land, the one where you hadn’t left, deciding instead to stay and waste the last half of your weekend kissing her instead. Eyes screwed shut, she imagined it was your bare leg she mounted instead, offering your thigh up to her as long as she let you have your way with her mouth. It was slightly uncomfortable, damp fabric pulled taut against her, but shaky fingers came to tug them to the side, pretending they were yours as her fingertips momentarily played with her clit before she forced her hips down swiftly.
Wanda didn’t know what you’d say, if you’d say anything during her frenzied display, but she hoped you did; something less practiced than the videos she’d seen. You’re so gorgeous all worked up for me, princess, a name you’d called her before and each time her heart latched onto you a fraction more, I want to see you cum now, will you do that for me?
She nodded her head as if you were still right there with her, mouth falling open as she rut her bare cunt over her comforter at just the right angle. If she focused enough Wanda could see your sly grin, that look you gave when you knew you’d gotten her right where you wanted, pretended her fists were balled tight into your shirt instead of her wrinkled sheets, “Yes, yes… I’ll do it! I-I’m gonna…!”
Wanda came with a whimper, weakly jerking her hips until she could no longer hold herself upright and fell forward. Dull aftershocks pulsed pleasantly through her body, but her pussy clenched around nothing, begging for something more Wanda never worked up the confidence to give it. The shame she felt having ruined not only her new undergarments, but also her shorts and sheets, laying limply in the cooling wet spot she’d made in her dalliance, was more than enough to leave her cheeks burning hot and she let out a loud, dramatic groan into her pillow.
Luckily, it was already laundry day.

That evening, once Wanda showered the last of yesterday’s events away, washed her dirty clothes, and carefully remade her bed with new sheets, she flopped down on her couch in exhaustion. She pondered texting you, but the mere thought made her brain fly back to earlier activities and she wasn’t quite ready to face you yet. Instead she pressed Agatha’s name, thumbs hovering over the keypad as she tried to figure out how to even start the conversation she wanted to have.
So we kissed… three times…
The text barely read as delivered before Wanda’s phone buzzed, Agatha clearly having been on her device already, Three times where?
She fought the urge to toss her phone as she read the message punctuated with a suggestive emoji. Of course Agatha would think the worst. On the mouth, obviously! We’ve only been out once!
Once is more than enough, even nuns like you have to know thatWhat happened?
Wanda detailed the last twenty-four hours as positively as possible, leaving out the game context for what was technically your first shared kiss. She smiled as she recalled your little bedroom fall, your sleepy scramble to rejoin her; maybe she’d be willing to face another party in the future if it meant spending the night with you.
She stayed over and she didn’t try anything? Did you scare her off or something? Wanda sunk deeper into the couch, having convinced herself your restraint was more because you were drunk than her putting you off. But she was well aware you’ve slept with Carol before, much more intoxicated than last night and haven’t spent even half the time together she had with you; it wasn’t the setting or the timing that was the problem. As her thoughts wandered again, Wanda hoped she wasn’t the issue.
Unfortunate turn of conversation aside, it gave Wanda the perfect opening she needed to talk about what she texted her friend about in the first place. I don’t know how to tell her I’m interested in her in.. that way…how we talked about? But I don’t want her to think I’m too forward.
So what if she thinks you’re a bit of a slut, that’s hot!
Aggie! Be serious!
Even as Agatha assured her that she would never joke about something as serious as someone’s awakening, Wanda groaned; maybe she should’ve texted Natasha… she’d tell her roommate anyways. Just tell me what to do.
Take the opportunity when it comes and when it does, go with it.
The advice was easier said than done, Wanda first needing to know what an opportunity looks like to even have a hope of seizing it. Trading her phone for a pillow, she dropped the plush object over her head, squishing it to her face just enough to muffle the anguished sigh she couldn’t hold in one second longer.
The two of you were… terribly normal after that weekend. Still inseparable in your classes, you continued to come over in your free time, flirted with her until she shook— now though, Wanda quickly grew addicted to your kisses. Never as intense as Sunday morning, but whenever there was a quiet moment, walking behind a building or before you went back to your respective rooms, if she tugged at your hand and waited, you’d give her what she was after. Anyone else, you’d call them childish or brush the behavior off after a while, but each time you felt that shy pull on your sweater, you melted. You were falling for her so fast, so hard; if you ever crashed, it’d hurt like a drop from a skyscraper.
It was always private though, Wanda treating each touch or smooch as illegal levels of scandal. You tried not to think about it too much; she wasn’t ashamed of you, just introverted. When you tried to think of a time where you’d been so intent on secrecy, you were thrown back to your first girlfriend; everything was so special that you’d been obsessively possessive with keeping those butterflies between you and your partner, where no one could ruin them. Considering Wanda and what she’s been through, you couldn’t blame her for hoarding her joy. Besides, there’s something undeniably hot about sneaking around.
Nonetheless, however much time you spent with her, you always wanted more. Maybe that was your own greed amidst Wanda’s; as long as she’d have you, you’d keep her. “So Wands,” you whispered to get her attention, not wanting to scare her or disrupt your professor’s impassioned monologue on the global impacts of the evolution of the written world, “do you have any plans this evening?”
Wanda looked up from her detailed notes long enough to let you know she was listening, her pen still writing, “You know I don’t.”
“I’m just checking!” You nudged her gently, winding your arms around her until your head rested on her shoulder. “Since you’re not busy, would you be up for checking out the fall festival with me?”
Wanda stopped writing then, turning to you again as your lips kissed her shoulder. You were looking at her in that peculiar way again, where your eyes got so wide they started to shine, the barest hint of a mischievous smile tugging at the corner of your mouth; she doubted you knew how often you gave yourself away like that. “Is this a date? Do I need to dress up?”
“Yes to the date, no to dressing up.” Last weekend, she’d gone so far out of her comfort zone for you; now you wanted to take her somewhere she could hopefully relax and have a more familiar type of fun. Wanda mentioned in passing her dad used to bring her and Pietro to the fair nearly every year and while she hadn’t outright said she wanted to go, you were sure she’d want to go.
“Hm..” When Wanda returned to her notetaking, you figured she was just thinking it over, but she didn’t write anything, held her pen too tight, and chancing another glance at her face, her teeth worried her bottom lip how she did whenever she fell too deep in her head. A few days after Carol’s comment, Wanda dressed differently; it started with her party outfit, black and fitted, and while she’d gone back to her patterns, her dresses now were shorter, thinner. Today’s choice was a dark pink slip dress, adorable but modern, and while you wouldn’t complain or tell her what to wear, her pointed refusal to bring her favorite cardigan to classes made you wonder if Wanda felt like she had to make a change.
You thumbed over the curve of her hip, pulling her close enough to nuzzle into her neck. It was the furthest she’d let you go in class without pushing you away; as long as you could reassure her somehow. “Wear exactly what you are right now. I’m just excited to take you out, silly.”
“You look very pretty today, sunshine.” Wanda sighed long and deep, relaxing her shoulders and trying to absorb your reassurance. She loved the fair, missed not going the past couple of years, and she knew she was bound to have a good time if you were there; her nerves just wanted to eat her alive. “I’ll win you something soft and get you all the fair food you want?”
“It’s really not smart to keep offering me things before I’ve even said no.” She turned quickly, pressing a small peck to your warm forehead before scribbling away yet again, “Now I’ll make you win me the biggest teddy we can find.”
♡.﹀﹀﹀﹀.♡ ♡.﹀﹀﹀﹀.♡
The fair was pretty much how Wanda remembered it, same layout, same variety of vendors, same rigged carnival games. You were happy to let her show you around, not that this small county fair was anything innovative, but Wanda was so thrilled to point out her favorite booths, it was only polite to let her guide the way.
True to your word, after a dozen tries you’d conquered the bean bag toss, winning the brunette a pink bunny rabbit who she immediately dubbed Carrot. You’d paid for that thing at least twice over by the time you won, but Wanda snuggled it so lovingly, cooed over the object so sweetly… money well spent. “He’s going to sit right on my bed all the time so I can remember your perseverance!”
“Oh I’m honored, a coveted bed post for my little thing!” Your gasp was way too dramatic, a few people close by turning their heads to find the source of the sound. Wanda swatted at your arm before pulling you along, but you stopped her as soon as you felt her chilly hand in yours. “Are you cold?”
Wanda shrugged, taking her hand back to fold her arms over her chest as a gust of wind blew by. “A little, but…well…”
“You didn’t bring a jacket.” Wanda’s sweater rejection strangely carried into your date and the further into the afternoon it got, the worse of a choice today’s dress was. Usually she’d pull on a sweatshirt as soon as she settled into her apartment or you could persuade her to bring an outer layer if it wasn’t during school, but tonight she’d insisted three times not to worry about her. “I’m starting to think you’ve stopped wearing sweaters just to steal my jackets.”
“Would you be mad if I did?” A playful grin grew on Wanda’s expression, teeth biting her lower lip as she waited for you to give in. If there was one thing she loved more than her own collection of thick cotton knits, it was your hoodies. None of them braced against the cold as much as hers, but the embedded smell of you kept Wanda plenty warm.
You sighed and shed your jacket, momentarily taking Carrot from Wanda’s arms before helping her into the sleeves. It was a little too big for her small frame, extra material slouching over her shoulders and to her wrists, and as she took her precious stuffed animal back, snuggling it to her chest, your heart leapt. “Not when you look as good as you do in them.”
Wanda didn’t know where to go with the compliment, still painfully lost on how to reciprocate such a comment, but she knew she didn’t want you to spot her blushing from something so small. In a panic, Wanda spun around, darting to the nearest stall and practically leaving you in the dust. “Come on, I want ice cream!”
“Are you sure you want something that’s gonna make you colder right now?” You went after her of course, catching up only when she paused to take a spot in line. Wanda really could run fast when she wanted to.
She nodded, pretending to study the menu that only gave her three different choices of soft serve, “You promised all the fair food I wanted. Right now, it’s ice cream.”
Once she’d gotten it, she only took a few licks, taking much more interest in walking and talking with you than eating. You noticed and, figuring she might be the type that prefers to sit and eat rather than realizing her diversion for what it was, found a set of hay bales just off the beaten path of fair traffic.
Wanda didn’t mind, let you help her onto the middle row of the haystack and tried not to visibly stiffen when you sat below her… between her legs. It’s just a convenient place to sit, she tried reasoning, willing herself to focus on anything besides the warmth of your back on the inside of her calf. Lost in thought, she missed the small drip of ice cream over her fingers until it fell onto her knee, “Great…I forgot napkins.”
Without thinking, you ducked down and licked the melted mess, your tongue making quick work of where she’d spilled it. You should’ve been even a bit more ashamed for the forward action, but in your head it was harmless. An easy and helpful fix for a lack of napkins, was all. “Finish your ice cream quickly, Wands. You’ll make a mess.”
The brunette was stunned at how casually you’d licked her, having gone straight back to mindlessly scrolling your phone without a care in the world. Meanwhile a thin coat of your saliva cooled on her leg, prickling at her skin and daring her to wonder what that same action would feel like elsewhere on her body. You weren’t paying her any extra attention, giving Wanda ample chance to run through her options: act outraged and warn you not to do it again, something that was so big of a lie Wanda wasn’t sure she could believably play it off, or allow herself a stint of not so innocent curiosity.
Her hand tipped before she’d rationalized it any further, a larger drop above her knee this time.  Wanda needed to see if you’d do it again; what she would feel if you did it again. “I’m trying, but it’s cold..”
Her whine from above caught your attention, turning around to see Wanda’s once again sticky leg and sighing. “You’ll ruin your dress and then I won’t hear the end of it-” You licked it off, forcing away your suggestive thoughts… until you looked up. Her face gave her away instantly, cheeks pink and eyes alert; she did it on purpose.
The current position wasn’t wasted on you, perched perfectly in between her legs, just above eye level to her bottom half. To what extent Wanda caught on, you didn’t know, but you’d be a fool not to at least try, “Careful…” You shifted enough to place both hands on her legs, sliding the hem of her dress a few inches up as a small test of her comfort. If she pushed you away, you wouldn’t have been surprised, the public setting making this all more scandalous than you ever thought Wanda would agree to.
But she didn’t move a muscle, not one utterance of protest; Wanda kept her eyes locked on you. The hay bales were faced away from any crowds, far enough that nobody walked directly past you; if someone knew the back of Wanda’s head they could spot her, but whatever lust clouded her brain, that was enough security for now. Another set of drops fell, purposeful now that you both were on the same page. Wordlessly, she watched as your tongue made another appearance, licking away her self-made mess.
Each time she spilled the cold treat, you lapped it up with a slow sweep, lingering longer the higher you got. Wanda doubted you noticed you’d begun a series of low groans, fully leant over as you kissed each area you cleaned. Everything she knew taught her to be ashamed of both of your behaviors, overtly passionate and so very inappropriate, but honestly it only turned Wanda on more. If she had to be penitent for the rest of her life over this, so be it.
You had none of the same moral dilemma Wanda had, more than willing to play this little game all night. You’d yet to speak aloud how much her legs lived in your head, every sighting of them driving you just that little bit further into the depths of your growing need for the girl now leaning back to let ice cream fall higher. When you’d slept on her, you’d done so with thoughts running wild of how to touch them again, how sensitive she’d be if she allowed you even five minutes to focus on her impossibly smooth skin; never in your wildest dreams did you think Wanda would offer herself up like she was now.
At mid thigh, she was visibly twitching, either from damp skin exposed to the cold, arousal, or a combination of the two. “You just had to go and get yourself all wet and sticky?” Her ice cream trick, yes, but as you spoke, your eyes were trained under Wanda’s hitched dress, the barest hint of her underwear visible in the dim light of dusk. It was torture to only just be able to see her, restraining your urge to dive closer and confirm what you’d bet money on was a dark spot on the white cotton fabric.
Wanda was breathing so heavily her chest heaved, both mortified and flattered by your shameless ogling. She nearly snapped her legs shut, instinct screaming to hide and deny the effect you had on her; a louder voice remembered Agatha’s go with it advice and she had to admit, this proved a lot more fun. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to, I swear…”
It was a fake apology, accented with the largest spill yet, a heavy glob of her near fully melted dessert landing on her inner thigh… right next to where you were already staring. Countless times she’s asked for kisses; same principle, different area. “First my jacket and then wasting my money on something you had no intention of eating properly, what a naughty girl you’ve been.”
She thought sure her eyes would roll back into her head as you cleaned her up again, your tongue making slow, languid strokes Wanda vowed to commit to memory. When the last of the chill was gone, Wanda assumed you’d pull away, but if you had to give something up today, you’d grant yourself the reward of adding your own piece to her game. Lips making noises Wanda would only ever describe as obscene, you sucked a hickey into the sensitive skin of her thigh; a not-so-gentle reminder of what you could do should the other girl let you.
When you backed up, it was to sit straight on your knees, hands glued to Wanda’s hips where you still had her dress pinned. She looked terribly disheveled, poor thing, free hand clutching her stuffed rabbit for dear life while her mouth hung open far enough to let you know she was seconds away from outright panting. “Think you’ll bring napkins next time or will you let me lick you clean forever?”
It was those devious circles your thumbs rubbed into the join of her hips that did her in, so close to where she was scared she was now dripping, an unexpected shudder forcing Wanda to drop the entire cone, the sugary mixture splattering across her dress and your jacket. “Oh! I promise I didn’t want to do that!”
You remained unfazed, one track mind set on kissing lips bit so hard they’re now slightly swollen. “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you.” And you were so close too, less than an inch from the trembling girl in front of you— Carol calling your name was the one thing that ruined it all.
It took you a moment to register you were on the ground, Wanda having shoved you back as hard as she could the instant she heard. You watched from below as she righted her dress, your ass stinging from the heavy fall while Wanda tried looking as normal as possible. She turned to see Carol approaching with barely contained laughter, having witnessed Wanda knocking you off balance. The blonde only wanted to ruin your moment, she had no idea her classmate would actually push you; that just made it all the more funny. “Might be pushing your luck after that one kiss, buddy. Think that was it for a lifetime!”
Wanda shot you an apologetic look as Carol passed, the shock and confusion on your face darkening her mood further. “I’m so sorry. It’s just, I heard her and panicked and I…” She wasn’t ashamed to be with you, not in the slightest; she was forever in awe of you being so willing to be seen with her. Maybe not for much longer, if she kept up her habit of sneaking around and shoving you off, “What if she tells? Oh god, it’ll be awful-”
“I’m fine, don’t worry. I get it.” You cut her off before she could spiral out of control, jumping up a little too fast for how much your back hurt and brushing the dust off your pants. Truthfully, you didn’t get it, you’d never had to experience anywhere near what Wanda grew up with, couldn’t imagine the lasting impact that might have on someone. Reminding yourself to be patient was hard but doable, picking up Wanda’s stuffed rabbit and placing it into her shaking hands at the same time you pressed a comforting kiss to the crown of her head. “We should get you home anyways, it’s getting late.”
The sun was nearly completely gone now, far off on the horizon, a deep purple sky replacing its bright light. Wanda wanted to ask you to stay, to try again and see if she could revive the moment she and Carol broke, but large globs of ice cream were soaking into her dress, splattered from when she’d dropped her cone and darkening the pink color; both she and her outfit needed a wash. “Yeah, okay. I’m sorry…”
“I didn’t ask you to apologize.” Wanda took your hand when you offered it, let you zip up your hoodie around her to somewhat cover the large stain; no matter how lighthearted your tone was, she couldn’t shake the embarrassment scratching at her, filling her head with now way too familiar thoughts of how stupid she’d been.
You kept your arm around her the whole way to your car, constantly checking over to see if her slumped posture and shy mood improved; it didn’t. Every day you spent around Wanda, each time the two of you danced a little closer, your need for her grew. It was harder and harder not to just take her, especially when she came out of her bathroom freshly showered, shuffling over to her bed in yet another too sweet set of pajamas.
She cuddled up to you wordlessly, choosing not to comment on how presumptively you’d settled into her bed because this time, it fit her needs. Natasha taught her the subtler way of flirting, close contact, small touches, things felt rather than seen. But even after wrapping her arms around your middle, fingering the edge of your shirt, letting her nails graze just barely over your hip, you didn’t make a move. In fact, you were notably less touchy than usual and Wanda hoped to god she hadn’t ruined her last chance back at the fair.
In reality, you were just barely hanging on to the last bits of your restraint, rationalizing to yourself Wanda’s touches meant nothing more than absentminded fidgeting. You hadn’t bargained on how badly she could affect you, not her floral scented shampoo or whatever body wash she used that made her skin heavenly soft, but all of it was dangerous. You’d resolved not to try anything further tonight, wanting to give Wanda ample space to recover from whatever she felt with Carol’s sudden appearance; she made it nearly impossible to do the right thing.
“So..about earlier?” You asked, giving in and pulling one of her legs until it lay over your lap, greedily demanding more closeness from her you didn’t know she was more than willing to give.
“Yeah, I…I liked it.” Liked was a grave understatement, a laughable comparison considering how the mere reminder of it all made her thighs tense up all over again. This was where Wanda expected you to make some kind of move, anything really, some hint that gave her an ounce of reassurance that you wanted to try again.
But your hand stayed still splayed over the curve of her hip, unmoving while a billion thoughts ran through your head. You didn’t even kiss her like she’d come to be accustomed to, what you knew full well she was expecting once you’d gotten her home. Whether she was aware you could feel every squeeze of her legs around your abdomen or not, you refused to speak up about it. If you had to be tormented by her fingers still scraping your warm side, Wanda could handle a little torture herself. No, you’d stay quiet as a mouse, just to see what leaving her wanting more would do. “Right, I’m glad.”
Wanda wanted to shake you, to sit on your lap, push you back, pin you down, and just… yell very explicit words until you understood how much she needed you to fuck her. Maybe it wouldn’t be the sexiest thing in the world to have to ask someone to take her virginity, but she’s never wanted it gone so badly. Something new had washed over Wanda in her time with you, some obsessive need whose intensity might’ve worried her if it didn’t always feel so damn good.
She knew you’d done it plenty of times before, last week you told her you’d have sex with her if she wanted to. Well, Wanda wanted it and she was determined to get it sooner rather than later, preferably before she exploded from sheer frustration.

Tumblr media
You found Wanda sitting alone in your kitchen, a drink in front of her as she circled her fingers on the rim of the cup, her black stained fingertips slowly dragging on the glass. Swallowing, you forced your eyes away from your girlfriends hands and made your way to sit next to her. From an outside perspective, Wanda would’ve looked like she was only deep in thought, but you, you could tell she was angry. Muscles in her neck tensed and her jaw was clenched as you settled onto the barstool next to her, her eyes staring ahead, refusing to look at you. Hesitantly, you placed a hand on her shoulder, retracting it with a sad look when she brushed off your touch with a harsh rotation of her shoulder.
“You left the party early.” Your small voice broke through the silence, intensifying the static air between you. Wanda scoffed, bringing her drink to her lips and downing the rest of the amber liquid.
“Sorry to ruin your fun.” Her voice was harsh and sent dread down your spine as you racked your mind, trying to decipher why your girlfriend was mad at you. Wanda pushed her seat back from the island, standing up and rolling her neck, sending an indecipherable look your way.
“I’m going to bed.”
As soon as she started walking away, a memory clicked into place, your eyes widening in realization.
The party was in full blossom, people chatting, their words overtaking the atmosphere. Dim string lights illuminated the outdoors, strung on tall ancient trees, adding a mystical vibe to the occasion. You stood near the back, away from the crowd of people, arms wrapped around yourself for warmth. The night wasn’t particularly cold, yet a chill ran through the air, prickling your skin. Your eyes searched every familiar and unfamiliar face for Wanda, who you hadn’t seen all evening.
“You look like you’re freezing,” came the suave voice of Carol Danvers, standing next to you, her light brown eyes shining, “would it be too forward of me to ask if you needed warming up?”
As your mind processed that the Captain Marvel was speaking to you, you quickly shook your head, a small laugh escaping your lips.
“If it means no longer being cold, its not forward at all.”
The Captain laughed, wrapping an arm around your bare shoulders, her powers radiating warmth under her skin. Sighing, you relaxed as you became comfortable, the chill of the night leaving your skin. Carol’s hand rested on your forearm, right below your shoulder. The blonde offered you a drink, which you gladly accepted.
“So,” she started, taking a swig of beer while her eyes looked at you full of humor, “why are you standing all alone, Y/N? Not a fan of giant, overcrowded parties?”
You laughed, the out of place feeling you had before melting away. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw a flash of red hair, but didn’t turn towards it. A part of you was mad at Wanda, how she had left you alone at a party full of people with sticks up their ass.
“Not really a fan, no. Wanda was supposed to accompany me but I guess other things came up.”
Carol nodded, taking another drink of her beer, before replying.
“Well, until she shows up, I’ll keep you company no problem. I’ve had enough ‘success’ stories from men this evening to last a life time.”
It felt like hours that you spent joking and laughing with Carol, forging a friendship you hoped would last longer than just this night. Her arm remained around your shoulders, warmth continuing to radiate off of her. You were having too much fun to realize how that might’ve looked. Carol was about to introduce you to her girlfriend, a fierce looking woman with long braids and multiple swords on her person, when you saw a glimpse of Wanda’s face before she turned and walked out of the party, hands clenched at her sides. Furrowing your eyebrows in confusion, you excused yourself from Carol and Valkyrie, the Captains warmth leaving your skin. The two women looked confused at your sudden leave but didn’t follow you as you pushed through the crowd, following and searching for Wanda.
”Wanda, wait!”
Your voice paused the red head, who turned only her head in acknowledgement. You fiddled with your fingers before going to play with the fabric of your dress.
“Carol and I were just talking, she was just being friendly!”
Wanda scoffed, turning fully to face you, her eyes practically glowing red.
“Friendly? Her hands were on you the entire time!”
At Wanda’s raise of volume, you stood from your seat, anger now flowing through your system as well, drowning out the previous worry.
“She was using her powers to keep me warm, Wanda! I was freezing and besides, you left me alone at that party, you have to right to get mad about me ‘having fun’!”
Wanda raised a singular eyebrow, her face seemingly loosing all emotion. Your newfound anger dissipated and your heart rate increased as Wanda’s eyes bore into you.
“No right?” She asked, cocking her head to the side slightly, slowly walking towards you, “Am I that replaceable, Y/N?”
Her question shocked you, and you furiously shook your head.
“What? No, that’s not what I-”
You gasped as magic wrapped around your wrists, bringing them behind your back, silencing your words. You were pushed up against the cold countertop, the edge digging into your back as Wanda stood in front of you. Her eyes were now fully red, magic swirling in between her fingers as she looked deep into your eyes.
“I thought you knew, malysh,” she trapped you with her arms, leaning so her face was right in front of yours, “the only hands that are allowed to touch you are mine.” She growled out the last words before crashing her lips against yours, devouring you in a soul sucking kiss. You gasped, closing your eyes, as Wanda bit your lip, gaining her access as you parted your lips. Her tongue immediately won dominance, deepening the kiss as one hand came to cradle the back of your next. She broke the kiss suddenly, nipping your bottom lip lightly before bringing a finger to rest on your collarbone. Your chest was moving rapidly, trying to gain back the air Wanda had stolen from your lungs. She trailed her finger until she hit the neckline of your dress, flickering her eyes to yours as she dragged the finger down the cloth of your dress, her magic burning away the fabric, eventually causing the dress to pool around your ankles in pieces. You gasped in surprise and a bit of annoyance.
“Wanda, that dress was really-”
Her fingers lightly brushing against your clothed cunt stopped you, your words trapped in your throat. Wanda smiled, leaning her face close to your neck, peppering kisses against your sensitive skin. Her fingers rubbed in circular motions against your clothed folds, lightly pressing against your clit every so often. You let out breathy whines, trying to capture Wanda’s lips with your own and bucking your hips outward to gain more pressure. Wanda pulled back from your neck, looking at you with faux confusion.
“lyubov', do you want something?”
Her ministrations against your folds stopped and you let out a frustrated groan.
“I want you,” you panted, not wanting to drag out your longing. An idea sparked in your mind and you leaned forward, whispering in Wanda’s ear, “I want your hands.”
Wanda growled, the hand behind your head coming to wrap around your waist, pulling you up to sit on the island. With a great amount of strength, Wanda pushed you down to lay on your back, the cold marble chilling your bare skin. You shivered as Wanda’s hand wrapped lightly around your throat, squeezing every so slightly. Wanda towered above you, her fingers returning to rubbing against your clothed folds. A flash of red sparked in her eyes and your bra disappeared, exposing your nipples to the air. You gasped as the cold perked up your tits, making them sensitive. Wanda smirked, leaning until her mouth was inches away from your breasts.
“Ask and you shall receive.”
Immediately, Wanda’s warm mouth encased one of your tits, the contrast of temperature making you sigh in pleasure. Her fingers slipped under your panties, pointer and ring finger separating your folds as her middle finger played with your clit. You let out a loud moan, hips bucking up into Wanda’s hand. Her magic quickly held down your hips and Wanda switched to your other tit, biting it lightly before flicking it rapidly with her tongue. Her finger continued with it’s assault on your clit, circling the bud before rubbing you in a delicious fashion that sent stars into your vision. Your moans filled the air, music to Wanda’s ears. She moved to kiss the valley between your breasts before migrating up to your neck, where she doubled down against your skin, creating bruises with every kiss and bite.
“Wanda, ah, please - please.” You begged, your mind so hazy that you weren’t even aware what you were asking for. With a smirk, Wand slipped two fingers into your hole, groaning at how your walls tightened around her. You gasped, arching your back. Slowly, Wanda started pumping her fingers in and out, the pace sending frustration through your body. Sensing that, Wanda increased her pace, crooking her finger slightly, causing your vision to blur as pleasure flooded over you. She continued to hit that spot inside of you repeatedly, causing a knot to grow in your stomach. Wanda felt your walls tighten and throb around her fingers, telling her you were close. Her pace turned brutal, causing your body to almost fold in on itself as your g-spot was hit and your clit was stimulated by Wanda’s palm.
“I’m - I’m gonna-” You didn’t have time to finish your statement before you felt Wanda’s magic flood through your body, heightening your senses. Your eyes widened and you keened as the knot in your stomach broke, your orgasm shaking your body. You felt Wanda’s fingers leave you and her arms wrap around you as aftershocks shook your core. She pressed soft kisses into your hairline and you slumped against her, head on her shoulder as you caught your breath. You pulled back, leaning your forehead against hers, smiling softly.
“You know I love you Wanda, right?” Your voice was hoarse and your question was tainted by a bit of fear. You felt Wanda nod, pressing a kiss against your lips softly. When you leaned back, you expected Wanda to remove the magical bonds from your wrists, but she merely looked at you like a predator who just caught her prey.
“Wanda?” You asked, your voice quiet as her magic propped you up, her hands spreading your things apart as she knelt on the ground.
“I didn’t eat anything at the party, dorogoy,” her voice was gravelly as she stared at your glistening folds, your underwear pushed to the side, “I’m positively starving.”

The Compound is huge.
There's everything from a shooting range, to multiple break rooms, to some mega-equipped labs, not to mention bedrooms.
Obviously there are many, there will be many people who will have to sleep here.
Some more than others, those like you and the twins who have no one out there in the world will stay here.
Since you two girls were the last to arrive, you had to make do with the rooms. Luckily there were two rooms quite far from Pietro's, and after you sat through a discussion on why you go so far from his room you laughed enough accompanying the brunette to your respective two new rooms.
At least, your room also had another positive side. It was opposite Natasha's
This time it only took you a quarter of an hour to rearrange the things from out of the boxes, also because compared to the room in the tower this one is much bigger, and then yes Wanda was right, with magic it would have been faster.
Oddly it had been a whole day since you had seen anyone else but Wanda so you are surprised when you finally decide to leave the room and as you turn the corner into the kitchen you find Pietro, the last person you wanted to see, who was chatting with her sister while she was cooking something.
You weren't really angry with Pietro but he made you remember something you just wanted to forget so as quickly as you left the room you come back in tears, slamming the door and closing it.
In addition to the twins you hadn't noticed that there were also others present, all puzzled when you ran away.
Maybe only two people could tell what was going on with you, and those two were Wanda and Natasha. However, the redhead seemed not to be there at the moment, so whatever Wanda was cooking, she let go and ran after her, leaving everyone stunned.
You were sick,
why couldn't you save her?
Why did Pietro yes and she didn't?
These were the questions that kept running through your head as you circled the room choking on tears when you heard a knock on the door.
Wanda seeing that you had no intention of opening her decided to act. "Y/N, it's me Wanda, please open up" she tried to coax you softly, unfortunately you were stubborn and broken so you refused to even let your presence be known.
She then tried to open the doorknob with her magic but you apparently sensed what she was doing and were thwarting her.
She had no other choice, she sat on the floor with her back against the door and she thought about what to tell you. "You know I still have to thank you for saving Pietro's life. I don't know if I would have been able to go on without him. After our parents died it was just us two against the world, we protect each other."
You were still in a panic when she started to speak but the more she spoke the more she managed to calm you down, in the end you too put yourself on the floor against the door.
She heard you were on the other side of the door and she knew you were crying because she could hear small choked sobs, you were in pain and she couldn't understand why and it made her feel bad.
"Do you remember the other day, before leaving for Sokovia, when I told you that I had been there too? Well the last time I saw my parents alive I was 10 years old. -
- It was evening and my father came home, we didn't have much money it was barely enough to survive, he had a menial job, he sold dvds of American sitcoms"
"That night, they made me choose what to watch during the tv night, you know during those moments we couldn't speak Sokovian and we had to talk another language. That's how I learned English you know? I had my favorite episode, number 21 of the second season of 'The Dick Van Dyke Show' put on."
"All of a sudden as we were watching it dark. It was just a bomb exploded a few floors below us, and when I regained consciousness Pietro found me and we hid under the bed." now she too was starting to cry, less repressed than you remembering her last moments with her parents.
Despite sobbing she decided to keep talking to you, she had to make you feel better at all costs.
"Then a missile fell just a few feet away from us, on that missile was a name… Stark" she broke off trying not to think of her growing hatred in her heart for the man a few rooms away.
"We sat down there for two long days, hoping that bomb wouldn't go off. In fact it didn't go off, maybe the only good thing from that shitty day. We ended up in an orphanage until we were 18 and then abandoned on the street."
"Full of rage and reckless as teenagers we saw in Hydra a way to defend our country and take revenge. So we ended up as volunteers for Strucker's experiments and from there with our new powers we met all of you." she then concluded calming her sobs and wiping her tears on the sleeves of your hoodie.
Hearing those words, all the pain they exuded, all that anger. Maybe you could tell her your secret, something even Natasha doesn't know.
Your mind has been off limits to her ever since you ran into the room, so when new waves of pain pass through her, pain not hers, she knows you're moving.
When you finally unlock the door you let out a single word. "I had a sister" you almost whisper for fear of admitting what you fear most.
She sees you scared, she understands that it's not easy for you to say what you're saying so she closes you in a hug as you enter the room and closing the door with red tufts.
Don't worry, no one else will know if you don't want to.
Take a deep breath knowing it will be hard to talk from now on. "I had a sister, her name was Nora. She was my big sister, basically we've always been together since I was born." you look up, with a smile watered down by tears you tell Wanda the most beautiful part of your life.
"Always smiling, she never let life get her down, and when you had some problem, any one, she would help you to solve it."
"You know this necklace I'm wearing, this lightning bolt, she gave it to me for my 15th birthday. Since she had to go to college, I was worried that she would leave and forget about me, but she gave me this necklace and said 'So I can never forget my little sister'. I've been wearing it every single day since then, after all it said that as long as I wore it she would always remember me." you try to explain, holding the pendant hanging from your neck in your hands, sometimes with trembling sighs.
"She seemed like a really good sister" Wanda encourages you by making circles on your back. You nod without answering, too overwhelmed with held back tears.
At this point, seeing you already about to collapse, she makes you sit on the bed before sitting next to you, ready to take you when you can't take it anymore.
Do you wish to continue? You don't have to if you don't feel like it
You hear the words she says to you mentally, for a while you hesitate but then you understand that you have to tell someone, you can no longer maintain this weight.
"No, I have to do this, I have to tell someone" you shake your head as you wipe the tears from your cheeks.
"A few days before she left, we were walking down the street wandering through shops looking for the last things she needed to bring."
"We were talking on a sidewalk when a suspicious guy came around the corner running in the opposite direction to us, came up and almost he wouldn't knock me down if I didn't dodge him."
"The guy ended up in the middle of the road and almost got hit by a truck if - " you can't finish the sentence because you almost get out of breath
" - Nora hadn't jumped to save him by being run over in his place." you whisper weakly reaching the limit of endurance, you can't take it, you collapse in a pool of tears and moans.
Two arms wrap you in a desperate hug as soon as you start crying louder and the only moment they let go is when Wanda gets out of bed and sits on your lap to be closer to you. Not even she knows what she's doing, she usually wouldn't be so emotional but with you in this situation she just comes naturally.
You two stay in that embrace for a long time, you hide your weeping face in the crook of her neck as she continues to hold you close and gently stroking your back.
If someone would have entered, even if Wanda would not have allowed them, they would have seen two girls sitting on a bed embracing, while the one sitting was probably crying.
This is what would have been seen on the outside, while many conversations were going on inside
You feel bad. Why did you say that? Now surely Wanda will go away and she will leave you alone like everyone else does.
Hey hey hey I'm not going anywhere. I stay here with you. I'll hold you until you feel better alright? You don't have to answer, I got you, now you can let go.
All you could think or feel was Nora and that hurts, you miss your big sister very much and you feel responsible for her death.
After all, if you hadn't dodged the guy as hard as you could, you would have fallen and scratched yourself but now Nora would still be with you.
But strangely even though you were crying Wanda's warmth comforted you, she was quietly singing something to you, you don't understand what she's saying but you assume it's Sokovian and you let yourself be lulled by the sweet words as you vent all your two years of secrecy.
When the moans have subsided into little sobs it's night time and you're very tired but you really don't want Wanda to go away, you don't want to go over everything by yourself.
"Can you stay with me tonight? Please" are the first words you've said for hours and you're begging her with your eyes still shining. "Of course" she can't help but please you, also because she herself had no intention of leaving.
It's been a while since you two slept, for the second night in the same bed, and you were starting to fidget.
Wanda awakened by your movements turns to check on you before seeing red for a few moments and then black.
For the first time, you'd had a dream so violent it was projected into Wanda's head.
When she starts seeing again she's in an apartment, with a younger version of you and two older strangers. 'You forgot about it. You forgot about her!' she hears your desperate younger version referring to what she understood to be your parents.
'How could you forget about her. She is your daughter!' you look sadder, this makes Wanda's heart ache even more because she understands what's going on.
'She was your daughter. My big sister. Nora.' she sees you get down on your knees on the ground with your face in your hands and start crying and muttering.
'I want my big sis back...she forgot about me...she promised me' you repeat like a mantra swaying back and forth.
Wanda can see and feel all the pain you are in, you miss your sister, you feel responsible for her death and your parents are not helping.
Then a bigger and bigger red wave begins to spread out from you, she feels the great power in you fueled by the pain, and she knows what happens next.
You destroy the building, remain the only survivor and then Steve finds you.
When she emerges from your dream she inhales a breath of air to materialize what she had seen.
How much suffering you had experienced, you didn't have time to dispose of it because you had to become a superheroine, a bit like her and this helps her even better to understand how you are.
She knows you need to feel happy now that you're sleeping so when you turn and try to wrap yourself around her, she lets you do it, actually she starts cradling your head when you put it on her chest.
Then she makes a decision, she will make you have the most beautiful dream of her, then she puts her fingers on your temples and they start to glow red as she browses through your memories.
When she finds the only happy memory you have of these times she is surprised to understand that it is a moment with Natasha, surely you have a very strong bond.
She must be very attached to you, she seems to act like a mother only you don't understand it or don't want to admit it.
There is something in that moment that you like so much and then she decides to make you relive it several times at least until you can accumulate enough hours of sleep.
——————————————————————
When you wake up, you're still clinging to Wanda, and to your surprise she's still asleep.
You take the time to analyze her whole face, every detail of her. She's sleeping blissfully, and since you've known her you've never seen her so relaxed, she even seems happy.
She no longer wears the many rings that she usually wears, you think she took them off before you just don't remember when, and this gives you a better way to see her hands.
Analyzing, however, a strange sensation becomes more and more insistent, as if they were many butterflies fluttering in your belly.
When you lay back down to admire the ceiling, you accidentally wake Wanda with your movements.
"Hey" she still sleepy try to say hello
"Hey you. Thanks for staying". you give thanks as you think back on everything she has done for you.
"I would do it again. But I have to tell you something" she says, leaving you time to refuse, seeing that you remain impassive, she takes it as a yes.
"Tonight I saw how your parents died. Don't take it badly but they asked for it. But then I also saw something else, the relationship you have with Natasha is something special. Don't miss the chance to have a family again" she explains, attentive to your possible reaction, mainly you remain shocked but then something changes.
"Do you think I should talk to her? I like being with her, she reminds me of when I was little. I feel safe." you speculate thoughtfully, while you think about whether she'd better run to the bathroom.
Don't even think about it!!!!
"You should talk to her" at the end she says to you and you say "Later I will".
And so you both stare at the ceiling in silence for quite some time.
——————————————————————
This was four months ago.
Since then you still haven't found the courage to talk to her and you've reduced conversations with Natasha to a minimum, limiting yourself to the bare essentials only during missions.
Your relations with the rest of the team have also worsened, you hardly ever spoke to them and only if forced.
However, this does not apply to new team members, with whom you have formed a strong friendship.
You apologized to Pietro and even if initially he didn't understand why, when Wanda explained the situation to him in private, the young man understood everything. You didn't know Wanda had told him, but you honestly didn't care, you didn't have to pour your guilt feelings on him especially if he didn't know the cause.
Wanda on the other hand was your breath of fresh air, your happy little moment, she was the only one who saw you laugh or even just talk. You spent most of your time together either in her room or yours, very often falling asleep in each other's beds after a tiring day while watching something on television.
You've discovered that in addition to powers, you and Wanda also have many things in common, such as a boundless love of sitcoms and an exceptional cooking ability.
In fact, the only other environment in which you felt at ease was the kitchen only when Wanda was there with you, otherwise you would have been almost a mirage due to the speed with which you entered and exited.
In all these shared moments she (in four months) hasn't even brought up that whole issue once, because if you had to do something, the only one capable of putting an end to it was you.
With Pietro the story was complicated, initially you saw him when he left his sister's room just before you entered exchanging embarrassed glances.
Then slowly over the weeks those looks turned into brief exchanges of words and then into real conversations, involving Wanda every time too.
When you weren't spending time with the twins, you were either on some solo mission or working out in a deserted gym.
Once you all trained together and it ended badly, at least for Pietro. He ended up crashing into a wall while he was trying to dodge two attacks from us girls regardless of where he was running.
He came away with some broken bones, but thanks to the accelerated healing he recovered by the end of the day. From that day you decided that training in three was dangerous so you created shifts of two.
You haven't said more than three words to Natasha in four months and honestly she doesn't know why.
Everything should be fine right?
She doesn't know and that's why she has to force you to tell. Only that she will need a little help, or rather two little helps.
This is why she is now in the kitchen and there is no shadow of you, but she is not looking for you, she is looking for the twins and they are right there. "Hey guys, what are you up to?" she approaches the two Sokovians completely masking her intentions.
The two exchange a quick glance before Wanda speaks. "Let's cook" she replies bluntly continuing to stir a mixture.
The redhead nods thoughtfully, as if what they're doing really matters to her, and subtly expresses her intentions. "Have you seen Y/N?"
"Nope" promptly Pietro lies shamelessly covering up your true position. "It's not true! You two always know where she is. Basically you're always together" she complains then annoyed by their too much loyalty, it's not that she annoys her it's just that now she would like it to be less.
"She doesn't want to talk to you Romanoff" Pietro gets up from the counter and stands next to his sister.
To which Natasha sighs, they are such good friends for you. "I know guys, but I need your help. She has to tell me something but honestly she can't find the courage, I know she's always been shy" she admits, leaving the two dumbfounded, she knows you really well, they can be trusted then.
"Help with what?" Wanda asks, still a little wary.
They created a plan to lock you in a room with Natasha long enough for her to talk to you, and since you were returning from a mission with Vision (the humorless being) the first place you would go would be Wanda's room.
So while Wanda waits for you as planned on her bed, Natasha hides in her bathroom ready to go out when the door lock clicks.
You're tired, the mission went quite well but Vision is really boring, sure you understand many of the scientific things he says but it's not the right time and this bores you, maybe you even miss Tony's selfishly sarcastic jokes a little.
And above all you can't wait to hug your new best friend and hear something other than philosophical thoughts about human beings.
What you don't expect is that when you enter her already open room she's on her bed and looks at you scared. "Hey Y/N, I forgot something in the kitchen, I'll go get it for a moment and then come back, you can stay here" she says before being carried away by Pietro leaving you alone with his bluish trail.
You hear the lock click and then you see the redhead you don't expect come out of the bathroom and then you understand.
You are trapped
All the alarms start ringing in your head,
you don't want to tell
or you want?,
what if she doesn't want to?
Talk to her she wants it too
hear Wanda prompt you in your head and thank yourself for being as much a telepath as she is for having this amazing form of non-verbal communication. "Alright I'll tell her, but if it goes wrong I'll blame you" you scream making sure wherever she is she has heard you and you prepare yourself for the ordeal that awaits you.
" Что за проблема, моя малышка?" (What's the problem my child?) she asks you worried
"Ты хочешь говорить по-русски? Серьезно?" (Do you want to speak in Russian? Seriously?) you argue nervously about the situation you're in
"Вы сказали, что это для чрезвычайных ситуаций. И это чрезвычайная ситуация!" (You said it was for emergencies. And this is an emergency!) she takes your angry tone, totally changing the initial setting of the conversation.
"If I have to speak I prefer to do it in English. I'm too shocked to do it in Russian." you say offended, but you're just stalling and she understands it from the way she looks at you.
"Well then, talk, I listen"
It's hard but you finally do it.
You talk to her about Nora, about your relationship with her and how you feel responsible for her death. You also tell her about your parents and how they died and especially the trigger of your anger.
But then you talk about the last few months trying to apologize and I tell her about what you did, as if she didn't know, she had seen all the cameras in the compound just to see you again. You tell her about how you became friends with Wanda and her brother and how happy you feel when you can talk to them.
She finally gets it all, all the nights you spent crying and moaning in your sleep, you were thinking about your big sister and your parents how you missed them and how guilty you felt about how they died.
She is happy that in the last few months you have found people who have been close to you and from the way you talk about it you really enjoy spending time with the twins, she couldn't wish for anything else.
But then comes the speech, the one about your relationship. "Since you came here two years ago you've made me feel something I never imagined I'd feel, a constant fear of hurting yourself but also an overwhelming amount of love. But it's not the kind of love between engaged is something motherly, something I never expected to be... a mother"
"Now, I know you have a mother, but I don't think she would want you to be alone. In that sense too. So if you want I can try to be some kind of mom" she looks at you anxiously after she finishes her speech looking for signs of rejection, but there aren't any.
You throw yourself into her arms with tears of joy in your eyes. You leave her suspended with your action until you gently whisper to her "You are already my mom".
You knew she was from the first night she was close to you during one of your meltdowns, you just felt fear that you were somehow cheating on your biological mother. But now that you knew that she too felt the same way, the road seemed easier.
Perhaps your mother from wherever she is she will be scolding you, but shouldn't a mother want only the best for her children?
Now your best was clearer, you built a family without your knowledge and found in Natasha a new mother in time of need.
If Natasha thought she couldn't be happier when she heard you calling her mom her heart melted completely. After a long time she was truly happy.
When the hug between mother and daughter is finally over you fixed your slightly messy hair. "I have Wanda to thank," you say shaking your head and thinking of your dear friend.
"She's a good girl" she replies with a slight wink at which you make a face. "Don't start with mom's advice" you beg her playfully laughing embarrassed by your mother's insinuation.
"I'll have to start from something" she makes fun of you and you reply rolling your eyes and giving your hand to your face, surrendering to such lightheartedness.
——————————————————————
You truly thanked Wanda. Since she came into your life she has always helped you and from now on you promised yourself to always be there for her. Whatever it takes
After that day your life was turned upside down. Now you didn't wake up alone anymore, Natasha was always there to wake you up even when you fell asleep in Wanda's room, sure sometimes you just wanted to stay in bed a little longer without disturbing your roommate but you were thankful to your new mum for give you all these attentions.
If breakfast wasn't ready, you prepared it for everyone, knowing their tastes and habits, many times you cooked it with Wanda while you two happily sang.
Steve would always arrive at that point, up since dawn, and he would greet you like the true gentleman he is while he took a bottle of water and left. And like two teenagers then you sneer at the compliments while continuing to cook all sorts of delicacies.
Cooking of course as well as singing and dancing you talk about your plans for the day, and every time you are disturbed by an energetic Pietro who runs around the room to distract you before slipping in to give his sister a kiss and steal a plate of bacon and pancakes.
You really don't mind, you know that's how he is, and then your second favorite moment of the morning always comes after that.
The one where Natasha comes in and she gives you a kiss on her head before taking her plate and sitting down near the counter. The best time, your whole family, together.
Now your days have changed and you spend a lot of time away from your room preferring the gym and the laboratory (now that Tony has taken a sort of gap year you are free to give vent to your free intellect in the laboratory) where you finally keep your promise, with Wanda's help you create her first suit. Obviously you don't stop there, you are committed to creating the best outfit for her twin too, preferring heat-resistant and very elastic materials.
Now the time you spend training is with many more people and not at the most unusual hours, you have resumed training with your mother like four months ago and she is surprised at how much you have improved, while you still continue to train with Wanda to master the best your powers and develop some special tactics.
The missions you do now aren't so solitary anymore and you're almost always assigned in teams with either one or both of the twins or Natasha and your espionage skills you can tell are really improving.
Now you always spend your free time with Wanda, but now in the common room sharing books, TV series and various chats.
That's what you're doing right now, sitting next to Wanda on the couch as you watch an episode of Bewitched for the umpteenth time.
You're so involved that you don't notice Natasha approaching her until you find her in front of her with a toothy smile and her hands behind her back.
"What are you keeping back there but?" you ask standing up and trying to see what she's holding on to, but she always manages to elude you. "We did it" she tells you, taking her hands away behind her back to reveal some documents, the ones for my adoption.
Immediately a smile spreads across your face and you're almost incredulous. "Are... those... are those documents?" you stammer out loud in disbelief at the situation, finally, but you didn't expect it so soon.
She nods her head joyfully and you're elated.
You lock her into a bounce hug because you have too much energy to spread for the good news that you can't help but move. "I pushed a few buttons, and asked for some Avenger favors but I finally did it, now we can make this official" she comforts you as you look over your mother's neck to see Wanda watching the loving scene familiar in front of her and a little sorry, you wish she still had her parents.
You are already part of my family, Wanda, don't forget that
Thanks Y/N but this is your moment with your mom and you shouldn't be thinking about me
I will always think of you
You briefly saw Wanda blush at those words so you returned to the actual conversation you were having with your mother. "Then where should I sign?"
Now after signing all the documents you were officially her daughter.
You were finally Y/N Romanoff
(Ah of course there was a big celebration afterwards, obviously all Tony's doing)
You've never felt happier in recent years than right now. You have it all, a family, friends and fantastic powers.
You know this won't last long but you'll make sure you enjoy it while this peace lasts.

The ash from the previously burned wood in your fireplace exploded in a cloud of dust, a few logs rolling out onto the floor as something bright and colorful dropped down your chimney and landed in your fireplace. You screamed in reaction, covering your mouth as you stared at the fireplace, unable to make out what it was at first.
It was something wrapped in a string of multicolored Christmas lights. Then you saw blonde hair matted with blood, and you screamed at the top of your lungs.
“Carol!” you shouted, diving down to your knees in front of the fireplace and reaching inside, grabbing her and pulling her halfway out of the hollow until she was laid on her back in your lap, her face pale and splotched with blood. “Carol, oh my God.” You cradled her head and shook her, tapping her face and realizing it was cold and lifeless to the touch. “Carol, wake up! Wake up!” She was bloodied all over, her body still wrapped in the lights that were shining even though they were plugged into nothing. “Oh my god, oh my god,” you repeated, trying again to shake her awake even though you knew that she was gone.
Suddenly, you heard music, gasping to see that the power had turned back on, your record player spinning again and your Christmas tree lighting up. The hum of electricity filled your ears again, but you were blinded by the tears in your eyes.
Then a smooth, deep voice filled your ears. “I do hope you like your present.”
“Ah!” You jumped, turning your head to the sound of the voice. Horror filled you when you saw a woman sitting at your kitchen island, picking up a cookie from the plate of cookies you had made earlier. She was dressed in all red, a crimson corset with tights and a cloak that cascaded down the legs of the stool she was sitting on. Her legs were crossed casually, as if she were an old friend who had come to visit, as if she had been sitting there the entire time. What terrified you the most was the sort of crown resting on her head of red hair, with two ends pointing upwards above her forehead—it was the person you had seen in the woods.
She continued speaking before you could utter any of the thousand questions and fears running through your head. “But do keep in mind that you can’t return it—I don’t have the receipt.” She took a bite from the cookie, chewing as she turned a pair of dark green eyes to yours, inciting chills that coursed through your entire body.
“What… who…” you breathed, staring at this woman who froze you with her glare.
“Don’t be so ungrateful!” she exclaimed as she stood from the stool, her movement making you tense up. You were still cradling Carol, clutching her upper body to you as if you could still protect her from this woman. “I should have gotten you a lump of coal since you were so naughty,” the woman spoke as she walked around the island, going to your fridge and opening the door as if she owned the place. “It’s such a shame. You were such a good girl all year, and you just had to ruin it on Christmas Eve.” She looked around in the fridge for a few seconds before clicking her tongue in disappointment. “No milk? Where are your hostess manners?”
“Get the hell out of my house!” you screamed as if she would immediately obey and leave.
She only turned to meet your eyes again from across the room, a sickening smile twisting on her lips. “This is the season of giving, is it not?” She aggressively slammed the fridge closed and began to saunter towards you. “I gave you something. Now you must return the favor.”
“Stay away…” you began when she started to walk closer to you, trying to crawl away with Carol still in your arms. “Stay away!”
“Put the corpse down, detka,” she husked, using her boot to easily kick Carol’s body out of your arms. You whimpered and tried to crawl away, staring up at the woman who stood over you. “Please… don’t hurt me.”
She loomed over you, staring down at you through shadowed eyes. “This girl was doing you no good. She was a nuisance, a pest.” She crouched down slowly, resting her elbows on her knees as she became eye-level with you, her face only a foot from yours. “At least I would ask before touching you.”
Your eyebrows sewed together—had this woman seen the kiss that happened right outside only hours before?
“Always annoying you at work, dragging you out to lunch, texting you every minute of the weekend,” she continued with a velvety tone. “She was getting in my way.”
How did this woman know all of this? “W-who are you?” you whimpered, trying to discreetly increase the space between you and this psycho by inching backwards on the floor.
“Who I am doesn’t matter,” she bluntly responded, a strange accent coming through her tone before she reached out and grabbed your thigh, pushing your leg flat on the floor with force—she was strong. “But you… Oh, you, detka.” She leaned forward, placing one hand on the floor beside you and starting to crawl over you. “You are my Christmas miracle.”
“I don’t know who the fuck you are!” you yelled, your defense mechanism booting up and causing you to kick her in the stomach. She was shocked by the kick, jumping away and holding her stomach which gave you the opportunity to scramble to your feet and sprint towards the front door.
Your hand wrapped around the cold doorknob, but as soon as you opened the door, the knob slipped from your hand, and the door shut on its own. You paused for a split second before opening the door again, but it slammed shut again. When you tried to open it a third time, it wouldn’t budge.
Slowly turning your head, you saw that the woman’s hand was held in front of her, red light glowing from her fingertips. She was controlling the door.
More tears filled your eyes as you realized your situation. Carol was dead, probably killed by the same person who now had you helplessly trapped in your own home and was most likely going to murder you, too.
“Don’t pout at me like that,” the woman said as she lowered your hand, stepping over Carol’s body to come closer to you. “Don’t cry, detka. I’m going to take such good care of you.”
“Please stay away from me,” you sobbed, pressing flat against the door as she approached you. “Please, I’ll give you money if that’s what you want. My wallet—it’s in my—”
“Stop talking,” she growled as she reached you, clamping a firm, cold hand over your mouth. She pressed herself against you, trapping you between her body and the door as she held your mouth shut. “I’ll tell you what I want.” Her other hand grabbed at your hip as she dug her hips against you, bringing her lips close to your ear. “I’ve been watching you all year. You’ve been such a good girl, coming home to me every day. Never going out at night. Never showing up late or calling out of your job. Never seeing anyone else—until her.”
You glanced over at Carol’s body on the floor, tears blurring your vision as you whimpered under the woman’s hand.
“I have to admit, detka, I’ve become a little obsessed with you,” she said with an edge of laughter, her warm breath fanning across your neck as her lips grazed the skin there. “There have been others, but they never measured up. They all turned out to be useless whores. You… you’re different.”
The hand on your hip tightened, and you whimpered when you felt her lips press against your neck, leaving a soft kiss there. You tried to turn away from her, but she kept your head still with the hand on your mouth. She kissed your neck again, harder this time, sloppier. Her breath grew heavier as she pressed her body harder against you, making herself as close to you as was physically possible.
You tried again to move away from her, pressing your hands to her shoulders and trying to push her away, but she was stuck to you. You lifted your leg to try and kick her again, but she reached down and caught your thigh, bringing it up and around her waist.
“Giving in already?” she whispered, removing her mouth from your neck which glistened from her kiss now. She looked at you with a dark hunger in her eyes, breathing through her teeth as she reveled in the fear on your face. Somehow, you noticed how beautiful she was for a psychotic murderer and stalker. “I thought you would need some warming up first.”
She finally removed her hand from your mouth, and you took a deep breath of fresh air, feeling the hand drift down to the front of your lower abdomen. She took your shirt and lifted it up, slinking her cold hand up the front of your stomach which made you shiver.
Your lips fell open in a gasp when she grabbed at your breast, squeezing your warm flesh in her hand as she groaned into your ear, causing an unusual trail of warmth to blossom throughout you.
“You’re so soft, detka,” she whispered, using her teeth to bite at your earlobe.
“Please…” you cried, grabbing at her wrist to remove her hand, but your body was beginning to betray you. Your chest arched naturally into her touch, and your ear burned at the sound of a snaky laugh.
“I knew you would be so good for me,” she said as she took her other hand away from your thigh and lowered it between your legs, grabbing your core boldly. Another gasp drew from your lips as sizzling heat whistled through your bones and made your insides throb. Whatever spell this witch was putting you under was working, because you found yourself bucking your hips up into her touch, your thigh still hooked around her.
A lustful snarl drew from her throat before a hand grabbed your hair and pulled you away from the door, her warm body leaving yours. You cried out as she threw you over the arm of the couch. You tried to stand up, but she bent you over at the waist, pushing her hips into your ass which kept you tucked and bent over the couch arm.
“I told you I would take good care of you,” her husky voice came from behind you as her hands reached under you, fingers finding the buttons of your pants. “But only if you say yes.”
With your face turned on the cushion of the couch, you were staring right at Carol. Tears fled down your cheeks, but even in the moment of sadness and pain and terror, your body was turned on by the woman manhandling you over the couch. She pulled your pants down your ankles and let her hands roam over your ass, gliding down to your thighs and humming at your smoothness. Yet, she didn’t touch you where you shamefully desired her. She leaned down over your back and pressed a kiss to the side of your cheek.
“Detka? Are you going to disappoint me on Christmas? I have been waiting all year,” she whispered tremulously, her voice edged with her own feral lust. She grinded her hips into your ass, and you felt a bulge through the fabric of her pants. Your eyes fluttered shut, but even through your eyelids, the image of Carol burned in your retinas.
But she was touching you so good, so softly, like a candle flame tickling your skin and warming your entire body. The bulge of her strap pressed right against your core, and the helpless position you were in seemed to goad your baseless desire in a dark, twisted way.
“Yes,” you croaked, tears burning your eyes as you panted through your open lips. Her spell was working—you were hers now.
“Oh,” she gasped, and her lips against your cheek turned into a smile as she bit the skin on your face, her hands on your thighs tightening their grip. “You are so very good, just how I expected you would be.”
You heard the sound of a zipper, and then your underwear was pulled down where your pants pooled at your ankles. Your hair was taken into a fist and yanked so that your body arched upwards, exposing yourself just right for her.
“My good slut, letting me fuck her so easily,” the woman hissed into your ear as she lowered her hand between your legs, her fingers dipping into your folds and feeling how slick you had become. “So wet, even after being so, so frightened.” She let her fingertips slide inside you, causing a groan to catch in your throat. “You liked it, didn’t you? You liked being scared.” She laughed condescendingly, which burned the side of your face where her words rested. “So pathetic, so dirty.”
The tip of her strap met your core, gliding across your clit and causing you to twitch at the blissful sensation. As if she hadn’t already broken you, she wanted to work you up even more. Her fingers buried deeper inside you, feeling your walls suck them in greedily.
“Don’t worry, detka. You’ve been so good all year, keeping your clothes on and your pussy tight. I’m here to help you.”
She slid her fingers out of you, the momentary emptiness causing you to whine before she replaced it with her cock, sliding it all inside you all at once until she bottomed out against your cervix. She was so big that your eyes squeezed shut, jaw falling slack as she filled you to the brim. Wet noises burned your ears as she pulled out slowly before snapping her hips to harshly enter you again, a laugh of sinister lust drawing from her throat behind you.
“My slut, all bent over the couch for me,” she groaned as she snapped her hips again, picking up speed. “Your little girlfriend, bloody and dead just a few feet away.”
Your eyes opened and fixated on Carol again, hot guilt and disgust filling you and causing you to squeeze your eyes shut again.
“No, open them,” she demanded, using her hand in your hair to turn your head towards where Carol was lying. “I want you to look at her while I fuck you. My present to you—you don’t want to be an ungrateful brat, do you? Appreciate your gift while I appreciate mine.” She groaned as she dug her cock harder inside you, grinding against your sweet spot which made you melt under her. You did as she said, opening your eyes and looking at Carol’s body turned away from you on the floor. That guilt and shame swirled inside you again and mixed with the pleasure she was giving you, and it overwhelmed you to the point that you were crying again.
“What did I say about crying, detka?” the woman grunted, punctuating her sentence with a harsh slap on your bare ass. You squeaked, the burning sensation melting into even more pleasure. You could feel your wetness dripping down your thighs at this point.
She was so deep inside you, stretching you out around her cock as she fucked you against the couch. You let out chaotic noises of both pain and pleasure as she pounded into you even harder, your hips hitting the couch painfully as hers slapped against your ass. She held your hair tight so that you were halfway up, causing your back to ache.
Her hand slipped down to your clit and rubbed it, amplifying your pleasure to the point where your body grew closer to the edge. Pressure built within you, sparking with the threat of exploding at any moment.
“That’s it, detka. You’re doing so well,” the woman groaned, her voice cracking as she came closer too.
“Please…” you moaned. You didn’t know exactly what you were asking for, but she somehow knew. Her teeth sunk into your neck, biting you as she grunted and fucked you with animalistic power, bruising your hipbones against the couch as she released, her hips trembling and thrusts becoming sloppy. Your eyes screwed shut as your body climaxed into pure bliss, throbbing and pulsating around her strap with such fierce, orgasmic energy that it jolted you awake.
“Ah!” you screamed, sitting up from the couch with a start. Sleepiness weighed down on your eyelids as you looked around your living room frantically—the credits of Polar Express were rolling on your TV. The power was on. The record player was still spinning music. Carol’s dead body was not lying on your floor, twisted up in lights. There was no woman, and you were not getting bent over the couch.
Your blanket had fallen off your lap, as well as the plate of half-eaten cookies which had now fell to the floor in your wake. Your entire body felt hot all over, and you swore that you could still feel her malicious, magnificent touch on your skin.
The buzzing sound of your phone caught your attention, and you saw that your phone, lying on the couch cushion next to you, was getting a call from Carol.
Confused and frantic, you grabbed the phone and answered it. “Carol?! Oh my god, are you okay?!” you breathed, standing up and walking around your house in search of that woman.
“What?” Carol’s voice came over the phone, sounding just as confused as you were. “Yes, I am. Are you okay?”
“Are you home?!” you asked as you went to your window, breathing heavily and looking all around your front yard. Carol’s car was no longer there down the road, and there were no streaks of blood in the snow.
“Y-yes, I got home a while ago. Y/n, are you okay? You sound scared.”
You backed away from the window as a dizzy, hot feeling filled your head. It was all just a dream… A nightmare, more like. Carol was alive, and no one had broken into your home. Nearly falling over, you sighed in relief.
“Yes, I’m sorry,” you breathed, placing a hand on your hot forehead. Your entire body was sweaty from that crazy nightmare. “Sorry, I fell asleep and I… had a really, really weird dream.”
“Oh, well you can tell me about it on work Monday. I just wanted to call before I went to sleep and say that… I’m sorry. I’m sorry for kissing you earlier. I just—I got the wrong signals, and I was impulsive. I really hope I didn’t upset you.”
You sat back down on the couch with a huff, staring at your perfectly normal house. “No, it’s fine, it’s fine. I was just taken off guard. Everything’s okay.” You placed a hand on your chest and felt your heartbeat even out.
“Okay, good,” she said with a sigh. “That’s all I wanted to say, I know it’s late. I’ll let you get some sleep.”
“Okay,” was all you could say. You’d only halfway been present during what she was saying due to being so confused and dazed from your nightmare.
“Goodnight, y/n. Merry Christmas.”
“Merry Christmas,” you said before the call ended, and you let your phone in your hand fall down to the couch, leaning your head against the couch. “Just a dream… It was just a dream.”
The rest of your Christmas Eve was uneventful. You cleaned up the cookies and turned off the record player, tidying up the living room before making your way to bed, wary of having more nightmares. Luckily, the exhaustion that the dream put you through guided you to fall asleep as soon as your back hit your bed. You were safe and sound.
Or so you believed. Carol wasn’t the only one wishing you a Merry Christmas. Right outside your window, peering through the curtains, was a pair of glowing red eyes and an insidious smirk.
“Merry Christmas, detka.”

One For The Road - Heart Shaped Series
Tumblr media
Chapter Summary: Wanda's first mission as an Avenger was also marked by the first time she met you.
Warnings: typical canon violence, fluff and Avengers working together but nothing major | Words: 2.501k
A/N-> This is an extra chapter (can be read separately and doesn't impact the current plot of the fic). It's just about delving a little deeper into what happened before the main story and I plan three of them in total (the other two will be their first kiss and their first time). Good reading!

Before.
They were there to observe. After all, what criminal in their right mind would let the Avengers attend an event where half the guests were wanted by Shield?
But even on the outside, and accompanied by Barton, Steve and Natasha who were basically the most protective members over her, Wanda was nervous.
It was her first official Avengers mission. Not only that, but she had what they called a perfect disguise consisting of an old American football team cap and sunglasses, and Wanda was having a hard time thinking that it would work. Maybe so, because she had only appeared a few times on television, and wasn't exactly the most popular Avenger among them.
But there was also Captain America in all of his glory of an enchanted big body wearing the same outfit. So ignoring Steve's warning about keeping it on the down low, she was forced to use her skills when she noticed that the waitresses were whispering about him - One peek and Wanda could read their suspicion. The blonde among them was sure of who he was, but a little influence from the witch and that certainty vanished. She could go back to serving coffee without further doubts.
Steve could thank her later for that.
Wanda's first mission was simple. To observe, to provide support. It was more about seeing Steve in action than anything else. Learning how the more experienced ones acted or something. She knew that Clint was somewhere high up, perhaps in one of the buildings away from the main square.
In any case, they were all surrounding the large Italian-style mansion on the edge of the island. And Tony in his iron armor was taking care of the offshore area, in case the targets escaped by water.
Everything was going well, and almost tedious to be honest, for hours on end. The gala party was happening loud and clear into the night, but Wanda and the others had the excuse of dinner time to stay at the tables in the cheap corner restaurant.
"We have our first celebrity guest, Captain." Clint's warning over the communicator almost took her by surprise - but Wanda was paying attention to the mansion's large iron door, where she could see the movement in and out of the party. The equally bored security guards finally got something to do - Opening the door to the visually drunk man heading towards the limo waiting for him.
Steve left some cash on the table, standing up before the drunk man had even finished insulting the staff for taking so long to open the door for him. She knew the captain was heading towards the parked motorcycle to follow the car since that was the plan. But she noticed - felt - something different.
The target was an Italian mobster who had attracted Shield's attention by being quoted in a human experimentation scheme. All those involved in the Hydra project, which created people like her and Pietro, were being hunted down one by one. It was an Avengers-level operation because little was known about how far Hydra had managed to go. How many superhumans they manage to create? It wouldn't be smart to send ordinary agents who would probably be up against people as powerful as Wanda.
And well, there was another detail about the target; he had two daughters. According to the files, the girls didn't take part in their father's work. They just enjoyed the money from a crime like two foolish socialites.
Although the two figures were identical to the photographs in the files, something in Wanda clicked when she looked at what was supposed to be the mobster's youngest daughter.
"Steve, there's something wrong." She gasped into the communicator. The waiter looked surprised - he thought she was talking to him.
"Mi dispiace, signorina, cosa ha detto? (Excuse me, what did you say, miss?)" But Wanda muttered excuse me in a very bad accent and got up. At her warning, Steve hesitated and instead of going to the motorcycle, he stopped at the bar.
The mobster didn't leave the scene either, confirming Wanda's suspicions that things were very wrong.
From inside the mansion, two security guards ran out - they shouted that something had been stolen from the sale. And the gate was closed again.
The man, drunk and confused, was searched. The presence of a pearl necklace hidden in his jacket was enough for him to be dragged back by the thugs, who ignored the foaming protests of him and his eldest daughter, who ran inside after her father.
"What's the saying again, thief who steals thief...?" Clint joked over the communicator, clearly from wherever he was, he had witnessed the whole scene.
Although he laughed, Steve began to move forward. "Change of plans, guys. Let's break up the party." He announced, and it was no surprise that the positions of the remaining team members quickly began to reveal themselves.
Everyone left their hiding place to invade the party - Tony's armor was the first to act to hack open the iron gates. Most of the security corps surrendered on seeing the Avengers there, but there was still conflict. Steve just wanted to act quickly before the mobster they had come to capture was executed for stealing a pearl necklace.
And Wanda, well, she followed her instincts.
The mobster's daughter fled the scene - She was supposed to go after her father, but she snuck into the parking lot. Wanda had to run a little to avoid losing sight of her.
The confusion of the party invaded by the Avengers was loud enough to drown out her footsteps, and Wanda managed to hide behind some pillars when the figure reached a parked car. She thought she was about to discover that the mobster's daughter was actually more aware of her father's business than she let on when something much more shocking happened.
Before her eyes, Wanda watched the figure change completely. From the original appearance, only the coat and expensive dress remained.
A shapeshifter? What an incredible thing to witness, Wanda thought. She had only heard stories about Loki and had never seen anything other than Natasha's tools of disguise. This here was truly remarkable.
You hummed low, pulling out a closed suitcase from your coat. The Italian mafia symbol made Wanda understand the whole thing quickly - The necklace was just a distraction. The real theft was what you were carrying.
The coat was discarded on the pavement in the parking lot, but before you could stow it in the trunk, you froze. Wanda had half a second to hide behind the pillar, holding her breath and hoping you hadn't seen her.
Well, worst case scenario, she'd use magic on you.
She risked a peek, but you were no longer near the car. Gone, like the suitcase.
Wanda sighed in defeat, feeling pathetic. Her first mission would be marked with the escape of an enemy. How embarrassing.
But then she was suddenly grabbed and restrained. Wanda gasped in shock, imagining that it was one of the building's security guards. Her magic acted faster than the panic in her system - it went through her body and hit the attacker in the chest, who was thrown to the ground.
"Wow, how did you do that?" The voice that came out was definitely not that of a brute like the party security guards. Wanda turned around panting, ready for another attack, but you were sitting on the floor, back to your original appearance, looking at her as if you had just seen the most incredible creature in the world.
Wanda opened her mouth, but couldn't think of anything to say. She was sure she had been grabbed by a security guard, but then she understood: You had changed to look like one. But her magic forced you to return to your real appearance, and Wanda had to convince herself that the way her heart raced and her stomach did two flips was because of the fright, and nothing more.
Her lack of reaction didn't intimidate you. You tilted your head gently. "You're the new one."
You started to get up, Wanda swallowed dryly, taking another step away.  Her hands glowed as red as her eyes. "Stay back."
But you looked at her carefully, as if you were studying her. And you didn't seem afraid of your powers, even though a minute ago you'd been thrown to the ground for it.
"Oh, I remember you from television." You suddenly declare, a glint of recognition in your eyes. "The girl from the country who fell from the sky."
Wanda tried to steady her trembling hands. "I'll take you into custody. I know you stole something."
But you didn't pay any attention to the statement - You advanced against her and she backed away instinctively until Wanda was pressed to the pillar again. One hand against your stomach and the other on your shoulder, keeping you at a safe distance.
She could have just hit you with the magic, but she didn't. Just like you, she didn't attack.
"What... are you doing?" She gasped in a mixture of curiosity and fear, both hands controlling your distance were expelling her power. One of your hands moved up and grabbed her face gently - Wanda had to bite the inside of her cheek at the way her skin burned at your touch. Was it attraction she was feeling? No, it couldn't be. You were a complete stranger. She had to convince herself that this was fear.
You turned her face to one side and then the other, your eyes so focused that you seemed to be trying to memorize every aspect of her appearance.
"I've never met another one of us before." You say, and Wanda frowns in confusion. Your hand remains on her chin, and she swallows dryly before taking a chance:
"Us? Like... another Baron Strucker experiment?" She deduces, and you nod softly before letting go of her face.
You move your hand down and hold the one she has against your stomach. "It's so warm. What is it?" You ask tenderly about her magic.
Wanda can feel her cheeks burning but she managed to stammer: "Hm... it’s a form of energy, I think." Jesus, Wanda pull yourself together. Well, who could really blame her for feeling out of place about the whole thing? She was literally on her first mission, being pinned against a pillar in the parking lot of a mafia party by some random thief, blushing under the worshipful gaze of that same shape-shifter while her team blew stuff up in the background. It was too much for anyone.
She tries to gain a little control when she evades your touch, slipping to the side and putting distance between your bodies again. She also ignores how her hand is tingling, as if she was missing your touch from seconds ago.
"How did the Baron manage to give you energy?" You asked curiously but frowned in a worried way.
Wanda sighed. She really was having a conversation with a jewelry thief.
"It was a stone... um, a special kind. It may sound ridiculous, but it was a magic one. It came from outer space, the Avengers actually have a lot of work protecting them. And well, it now sits on the head of one of us and-"
But you suddenly moved - You lifted the hem of your dress just above your thigh, and pulled out a small, hidden pistol. Wanda's heart leaped to her throat. She barely had time to think about reacting, and you had already pulled the trigger.
There was still an arc of magic protecting her when she risked opening her eyes again. You were both out of breath, staring at each other before you lowered the gun.
The shot wasn't aimed at her, as Wanda realized the next second. But behind her, to one of the party guests who was trying to escape the Avengers by running into the parking lot. And well, catching one of them, off guard was quite an opportunity. The man now was writhing in pain on the ground, bleeding from the shot to the neck that you had hit him with. His own gun, loaded to shoot Wanda, rolled off his hand to the grass next to his body.
Wanda should move. Criminal or not, trying to murder her or not, he needed help.
You raised an eyebrow at the magical protection disappearing around her. "You’re full of tricks aren’t, you?” You teased while hiding your gun again, now on your belt. “This was fun, Wanda Maximoff. Unfortunately, I must leave."
She shallows, knowing she really should move her feet. "You can't go... I have- I should arrest you."
You glance towards the man on the ground, practically unconscious now before looking at the girl again. "But he needs your help, and what kind of superhero doesn't help a bleeding victim?"
Her body reacts to your sarcastic words; she rushes to reach the assaulter and stop the bleeding. You don’t miss the opportunity to walk away to your motorcycle.
Wanda is too busy with the guest to notice you are escaping - Her magic do the hard part to patch up the bleeding and she’s stuck there with this man, at least for the necessary time for you to escape.
Wanda bites her tongue when she sees your motorcycle flee out the back exit, hoping none of her colleagues saw her letting you escape.
It doesn't even take five minutes for Natasha to find her, worried about where she was hiding during the shooting.
“What the hell happened here?” Asked the widow but as soon as she saw the gun on the floor, she assumed that Wanda was defending herself. She sighs before the witch can come up with an explanation. “Fuck, I’m just glad you’re okay, Maximoff. Pretty hardcore for your first mission, huh?” Nat jokes, and somehow, she manages a little chuckle from Wanda. The redhead gives her shoulder a soft tug. "Come on, witchy, i’ll take care of this one. Go find the others."
Natasha offered her a hand to help her up, but Wanda didn't want to take it. Her own were stained with blood.
"I think I'll go back to the quinjet." Said the brunette with a sour stomach. A lot had happened in a very short period of time. Natasha nodded quickly.
"Yeah, sure, go ahead." Said the widow, forcing a smile when she noticed the way the witch was shaking with adrenaline. "And Wanda. You did alright, okay? More than that, to be honest. You caught the hint that something was wrong very quickly. I’m proud of you.”
Wanda just nodded, taking the opposite path from all the confusion.  Completely unaware that a few kilometers away, at high speed, a shapeshifter left the motorcycle's handlebars to press against their own chest. Trying to understand why their heart was racing so much and the feeling of doing something wrong if the robbery had been a success.

"fu-"
A hand covers your mouth as a voice whispers in your ear, "Shh, you gotta be quiet" Wanda lightly bites on your earlobe, "Don't want anyone to walk in right?" She asks you, grinning when she feels your walls tighten around her fingers.
"Oh? You want someone to walk in, huh?" The redhead purred, moving her fingers in and out of you, "Such a fucking slut, wanting to get caught with my fingers up your wet pus-" Her words cut off when the door was knocked on. Wanda moves her head back, giving you a look to stay quiet, stilling her fingers.
"Um Mrs. Y/l/n, we're ready to start when you are" The person spoke behind the door. Wanda rolls her eyes, muttering 'fuck' under her breath, "I'll be right out!" She shouts back, hearing a small 'okay', she pulls out her fingers from you rolling her eyes again when she sees the look on your face.
"Shut it, diva" Wanda warns you playfully but sternly, "If it weren't for you going commando, I wouldn't have dragged you in here" She says as she pulls your dress down, straightening it out.
Watching her, you giggle at her words giving her a sly smirk, "Mm, you would've drag me in here regardless" You wrap your arms around her neck pressing her body against yours.
Rolling her eyes yet again, Wanda wraps her arms around you waist, placing her hands on the swell of your ass, "Didn't I tell you to shut it" She smacks your ass playfully before letting you go, taking your arms off her neck, "Come on, we gotta go" She grabs you hand, pulling you with her as she walks towards the door. Opening it, she walks out letting go of your hand. You frown but knew that it wouldn't be appropriate right now.
"I'm sorry for your loss, girls" You turn towards the voice and see you neighbor, Mrs. Smith, a sweet old lady. Giving her a small smile, you began walking up the aisle, you take your seat in the front row, eyes locking with the closed casket. You mind drifted back to the day your father died...
(A few weeks earlier)
"Wanda?" You called for the redhead as you walked into the dinning room, you heard a grunt in the living room, quickly walking over to the noise. You spot your father, black eye, bleeding, and covered in bruises, sitting in a chair tied up with tape covering his mouth. Wanda stood behind him, dressed in one of her many suits grinning like a child on Christmas day.
"Welcome home, diva." Wanda walks around the chair to you, going behind you and wrapping her arms around your waist, pulling your back to her front, "Like the present daddy got for you."
"Yeah.." You spoke, eyes still locked with your fathers, you could see the anger in them causing you to shrink a little, "I thought you were going to do this somewhere else."
Wanda kisses your temple before explaining to you, "I was but that's too much moving and touching the body. Got to really make it look like a robbery." She watches as your face drops a little, feeling sad herself; she asks, "What's wrong, div? I thought you wanted this."
You swallow before answering her, "I do. I-i just wasn't expecting to watch, you know. He's still my dad." Wanda lets you go, turning you around to face her, "But you wanted this."
You rolled you eyes at her and snapped with a hostile look, "I know that but that doesn't mean I wanted to see it!"
"Hey, don't get feisty with me, diva." She raises an eyebrow at you, giving you a stern look, "I thought you would like it, get some revenge."
Smiling, you cup her cheek, stroking it with your thumb, "You're the sweetest." You leaned up and peck her lips. You felt bad for snapping at her when she just wanted to do something nice for you, she can be the sweetest person ever when she wants to.
Wanda smirks hearing your father wiggle around, yelling as best as he can behind the tape, "Oh, yeah. I forgot to tell you." She moves back behind you, pulling you in her arms, "I’m fucking your daughter and I only married you for her. Don't worry, I'll take good care of her." She leans her head down and kisses your neck, a shiver ran down your spin.
"She'll protect me with her life, father." You smirk at him, eyes full of mischief, watching as he glares at you, huffing.
"I will. I'm good at protecting what's mine." The mob boss assures him, letting go of you and taking a step back, "Go ahead, divs."
Unassured if you had heard her correctly, you turn towards her, "What?"
"Throw a punch. Hurt him like how he hurt you." Giving you a cheeky smile, she crosses her arms across her chest, "Go on." She says when she notices your hesitation.
Turning around, you stared in his eyes, anger floods in you, that anger you pushed down, the anger caused by him. Clenching your fist, you take a step forward and swing your arm, your first connecting with his cheek, "Fuck you!" You screamed at him, all your anger coming out, you punch him again, "I hate you for being a shitty father! I hate you for not loving me! Not believing in me!" You continue punching him, adding a few flaps, tears pouring down you face. "I hate you for leaving me alone with him!! You left me alone.." You sobbed, feeling Wanda come up behind you and hold you to her.
"I got you, baby." She coos, pressing a kiss on your head as she grabs your hands, wrapping them around the gun, pressing your finger on the trigger, "Pull the trigger."
You sniff keeping your eyes on your father as he slowly lifts up his head, eyes locking with yours. "Goodbye, father." You whispered as you pulled it, ears ringing from the the shots that were fired, his blood spraying on you. You watched as his head hung low, blood spilling out from his head.
"Come on, let's go upstairs and clean you up." Wanda takes the gun from you, unloading the gun and throwing it on the floor, before taking you in her arms, "Shh, I got you, my baby." The redhead picks you up, bridal style, kissing your forehead as you laid your head on her shoulder, a vacant look across your face.
Walking out of the living room, Wanda sees on of her guys coming out the hallway, "Clean up." She ordered, walking away and up the stairs, whispering sweet nothings to you. She knew your first kill was going to be hard on you, especially it being your father and she’ll do anything in her power to make you feel better. Anything.
(End of flashback)
"Y/n?" You blink rapidly as you felt Wanda nudge you. Looking up at the podium, you realize Father John had been calling you. You didn't even realize the ceremony had started. Looking away, you stood up, throwing Wanda a small smile before walking up to the stage. Drawing a shaky breath, you swallow the lump in your throat, as you eyes ran over everyone who sat in front of you.
"Um, thank you all for coming." You cleared your throat, shuffling a little, "I uh I don't really know what to say." You stop, clearing your throat before speaking again, "My father was a good man. He uh he loved his family... I remember when I was a kid, he would take me out every Sunday night to New York City. He knew how much I loved the lights. I always loved Sunday's, they were the best days, sadly he got busier so our Sunday nights started to happen less and less but he always made it up to me. I loved him, so much and it hurts knowing someone took him away from me, from his wife." Looking down, you felt a tear roll down your cheek, "I'll miss him so much.. I'm sorry." You voiced croaked, more tears poring down you face, you quickly move away from the podium and back to Wanda, who had tears rolling down her cheeks.
"My condolences to you both." Father John gives you both a small nod, "Would you like to say anything, Mrs. Y/l/n?"
"I don't know if I'm strong enough." Wanda croaks, wiping her nose with a tissue as she pulls you in her arms.
"That is perfectly fine, Mrs. Y/l/n." Father John flashes a small smile before heading back to the podium, "On behalf of the Y/l/n family, thank you all for coming. Y/f/n will be deeply missed, may his soul rest in paradise." He closes the ceremony, saying a quick prayer to himself then leaving as everyone gathers around you and Wanda, giving their condolences and how great your father is before leaving. It took about 45 boring minutes, the amount of times you had wanted to roll your eyes at every single person. All you wanted was to go home and have Wanda fuck you into a daze but this would have to do.
"Let's go home." Wanda declared as the last few people leave, grabbing her hand she stuck out to you, you both began walk out and into the car. Once seated, you leaned into her open arms,  snuggling into her side.
"You, my diva, are a good actress." Wanda kisses the hop of your head, you smiled at the nickname. The start of that nickname, "diva", had started all because Wanda had gotten a call saying she was need but you had planned the whole day out with her causing you to throw a bratty fit, explaining to her how you a feeling hours apart are scheduled for the hours for a reason and to not break them because that would throw the who day off. But it had thrown Wanda off, as she had never seen you do that, she had shook her head at you smiling brightly at how cute you looked though to fit still surprised her. She pulled you into her arms and called you her little diva, safe to say it stuck.
Grinning up at her, you thanked her before pecking her lips. "When is Mr. Lewis meeting us?" The mob boss asked against your lips, kissing them again before you answered.
"Friday." You gives her one last kiss before laying your head on her shoulder, "Okay." She rubs your arms and peck your head.
"Hey." Wanda calls for you, lifting up your head, you turn your head to her, She smiles bright at you, eyes full of love, "I love you."
"I love you too" You giggle, pecking her lips before pulling back with a teasing smirk, "Daddy."
←———————————————————————————————→
Friday couldn't have came quicker for you, though it was only two day after the funeral, you had grown tired of Wanda asking every minute if Friday was here yet. Now her was the mob boss herself pacing around the living room,
"What the fuck is taking him so long." She huffs, lifting up her arm , pulling her sleeve up to read her watch, "It's already 3:30"
"Why have somewhere to be?" You asked as you look down at your yoga pants, pretending to pick lent off of them.
"Maybe I do." Wanda says, shrugging her shoulders, you look up, rolling your eyes, "You don't. Your little bitch told me you don't." You spat, causing Wanda to stop in front of you, placing her hands on her lips.
"Then why ask?" You shrug giving her a mocking smile, The redhead rolls her eyes, grumbling, "I swear if he is not here in fifteen minutes, I'm going to blow his brai-"
She quickly shuts up as the door opens and a man walks in, you quickly stand up, greeting him, "Mr. Lewis, welcome."
He shakes your hand, giving you a sad smile, "Ms. Y/l/n, I'm sorry we have to meet again under these circumstances." He let's go of your hand and shakes Wanda's, "My condolences to you both." He looks between you both, "Shall we get started?"
"Yes, please." The Scarlet Witch sighs causing you to elbow her. "I would actually like to talk to you separately." The elderly man voiced, causing Wanda to frown, "Why?"
"Mr. Y/l/n demand his will be read to his wife and daughter separately. His words, not mine." He explains to her, before she can protest, he waves a paper at her, "He gave me a strict orders."
"He's de-" You cut her off by elbowing her side again causing her to sigh, "Fine."
He looks you, giving you a grin, "I'll speak with you, Ms. Y/l/n first."
You nod, squeezing Wanda's hand before walking with him to the dinning room, one of the guards closing the door behind the two.
Once closed, Wanda takes a seat on the couch, leaning back and letting out a big sigh, her thoughts wandering to you. The redhead had been meaning to talk to you for a while but there hasn't been the perfect time to talk. She knew about you whole little plan, knowing who she was. She has to admit, you got her good, Wanda truly believed you didn’t know she’s the Scarlet Witch but you did, you knew the entire time. It made her a little skeptical about it, wondering if there were others that knew her or if you were the only one who figured it out.
A knock breaks her out of her thoughts, the door opens and one of her men comes from behind it, "Ms. Maximoff, there's someone here claiming to be Mr. Y/l/n's fiancée."
Blinking, she waved her hand, "Send her in."
He nods and opening the door more, a tiny brunette walks in, Wanda stands up, crossing her arms on her chest. "So you're the one that claims to be my husband's fiancée."
"And you're the bitch who killed him." She spits back, glaring at the redhead, who glares back stepping forward to the smaller woman, "First of all, don't call me a bitch." She continues, "Second, I didn't kill him. I loved that man while my whole heart and it hurts to know he betrayed me for a lowlife whore that just wants his money."
Rolling her eyes, the brunette scoffs, "Please, cut the bullshit. You didn't love him, cause if you did, he wouldn't have crawled to me." She smirks at Wanda, continuing, "Don't try to act like 'wife of the year', I know you fucking killed him. He has good security around this house, he lives in the best neighborhood with zero crime. Out of all the years he has lived here, he gets 'robbed' and killed the year he gets married to you."
"Listen here, bitch. I don't know who you think you are but you're in my house." Growling, Wanda takes another step forward, the woman in front of her looks up at her, "This isn't even your house!"
"You're right, it's mine." You announced, walking into the living room,hands behind your back, glaring at the person yelling at your love, "Who the hell are you?"
Holding up her left hand, she flashes her engagement ring, "Your almost step mommy." You scoff, walking forward, crossing your arms, "You sure you aren't just another one of his whores." You smirk at her, "He's proposed to almost every one of this whores. What makes you so different?"
The older woman smirks back at you, mischief in her eyes, "Wouldn't you like to know."
You squint, licking your teeth before asking, "Why are you here?"
"Mr. Lewis told me to meet him here, says my handsome left something for me."
"He did." The older man announces herself walking to the trio, as he looks down at the paper, grabbing a set of keys form his pocket, "He left his Miami beach house, his Lamborghini Sian and" He holds the keys out to her, "the penthouse."
"That's it?" Snatching it from him, she squeezes the keys, you scoff at her attitude, rolling your eyes, "You sure you didn't want his money."
"Whatever. I'll be back. I know you killed him." Clenching her jaw, the older woman rolls her eyes back, pointing a finger at Wanda, "I'll find proof one way or another." She promises before leaving.
“What a crazy bitch.” Wanda mutters before turning around to leave with Mr. Lewis to the dinning room. You stay staring at the door, your thoughts wandering back to that day. Taking a seat, you anxiously waited for Wanda to be done. You really wanted to know who the woman was, your dad had never said anything about her. You truly thought he was at work and loves Wanda so much but now you know there was probably no love to begin with.
You say there for thirty minutes wanting for Wanda to be done, thoughts racing. Sitting up, you hear the door open and walks in is Wanda and Mr. Lewis. You watch as the both shook each other’s hands, "Ms.Maximoff."
"Thank you, Mr. Lewis."
Using his other hand, he pats her palm, giving her a comforting smiling, "Anytime, dear. Call me if anything."
"Of course." She nods, walking him out, you throw a quick smile at him as he exist. Sitting back down, you lift your hand towards your face, checking your cuticles, you look up at her when you felt her staring, “What?"
"I know."
You felt your heart quicken, "Know what?"
Walks over standing in front of you, "I know you knew about me, that I'm the Scarlet Witch. That I’m part of the Maximoff family." She says, all you do is shrug, "Okay."
"Okay?" Wanda questions, a hostile look on her face. You shrug again, standing up causing her to take a step back, "Yeah, okay. That's not really what I'm worried about right now, Wanda. I wanna know who that bitch is"
"And I wanna talk about how you found out."
Sighing, you explains to her, “Wanda, that's not important right now. What's important is that some whore thinks that we killed my dad."
"Because we did." The redhead deadpanned, rolling your eyes at her, you hissed, “ But she doesn't know that.. at least not yet! We need to make sure she doesn't find out."
"She won't." She brushes it off, scoffing causing you to glare at her, "How do you know that? For all we know she could have access to these cameras or knows a guy who knows a guy to hack into them or something. This is why we should talk about it."
"No, we shouldn't. We should talk about what I said."
"Wanda, we don't even know what she's capable of." You pointed out, crossing your arms tightly, "And she doesn't know what I'm capable of. Now forget about the tramp and start talking." The older woman scoffs cockily.
Shaking your head in disbelief that she can brush off the fact that someone is claiming to be your father’s fiancée and that Wanda is a murderer, "What is there to talk about? I knew who you were and I played you. End of story."
Wanda scoffs, giving you a smirk, "Oh, honey. You didn't play me." Leaning forward, your noses almost touching, "You can't hide shit from me."
"Really? So, you knew the entire time? Since you and dad started dating?" Raising an eyebrow, you grin watching as Wanda's eye twitched, indicating that she was lying. One of her little ticks you found out about her, "That's what I thought."
"Don't get smart with me, sweetheart."
"And don't start acting like my step mother, Sweetheart." You chuckle at her, "No need to be upset that I can hide stuff from you, baby" You crinkle your nose and giggle, "Or how I outsmarted you."
Wanda rolls her eyes at you, "Anything else you're hiding?"
"No."
"There better not be. Cause you'll be sorry if there is." She declared, eyes narrowed as she towers over you.
Beaming at her, you say, "That's if you can figure out what I'm hiding." You shrug as she gives you a pointed look, "I mean, I'm not hiding anything from you but if I was. How would you even find out?" You asked her, waving your hand.
"The same way I found out you knew who I was."
You laugh causing Wanda to look at you with confusion, "You only found out because I let you." Giving her a sympathy smile, you lightly pat her cheek.
"I mean it, Y/n." Wanda sneers, grabbing your wrist, gripping it tightly, she pushes your hand down, her eyes full of anger, "If I find out you're hiding shit from me, you're gonna wish you told me now."
"Don't." You shove her hand off you, a dark look painted your face, "Ever. Touch me like that again or you'll be sorry." You clench your jaw, eyes darkening as you challenger her, "I'm not one of your little bitches you can toss around. Respect me and I'll respect you, okay?" You let out a deep breath, giving her a warm smile as you eyes light up again, "Now, I'm gonna go for a walk because this energy is not it. I should be back in a few hours or so. Love you." You lean up and kiss her cheek before turning around.
"Love you, too." Wanda says watches as you grab you keys and walk away. She stares at the spot you were once in, she had never seen you act that way and it sent a chill down her spin seeing that look in your eyes, it was like all your emotions disappeared. Wanda hears the door open and slam close, taking a seat on the couch and staring out the window.
She couldn't blame you for being defensive about hiding stuff, though you knowing exactly who she is, was a bit concerning since she is always careful about her identity but maybe she wasn't careful enough. But that fact that you wanted her, knowing how much of a monster she is, made her heart melt. Wanda knew you had nothing to hide from her, well nothing else. She just wanted to test you, maybe even scare you a little, which didn't work and that made her proud, she couldn't wait to introduce you to her team.
Pulling out her phone, she clicks a few buttons before dialing the memorized number, "Hey." She greets the person, "Set up a meeting on Tuesday. I want everyone there, no questions asked." She says before hanging up. She sighs, slumping her body on the couch, thinking about what you mentioned earlier, your father's little side hoe, probably just some bimbo thinking she would get all his money when he dies. Boy, was she wrong. That girl is the least of Wanda's worries.
←———————————————————————————————→
You kick a rock as you sat on the bench, a cigarette hanging between your fingers. You could believe the way Wanda was acting, pretending as if that fiancée bitch doesn’t exist. With or without Wanda, you were going to find out who that woman is and makes she she doesn’t get any evidence. No offense to your sweet Wanda, you love her and her guys are pretty cool but they fucking suck, some of those newbies don’t know how to properly get rid of evidence so who knows if they didn’t accidentally leave something that can point towards you or Wanda.
Breaking out of your thoughts, someone strolled to the bench and sat next to you, you turned towards the figure, scanning the blonde woman, maybe around your age, possibly a little older. Feeling your stare, the woman throws you a small smile.
You mirror her before looking away, inhaling the smoke, feeling the burn in your lungs, you exhale, "Sorry, I don't usually smoke.. cigarettes at least." You glance at her, apologizing as you try your best to swipe the smoke away.
She turns towards you, waving your off, "It's alright, I don't mind at all."
“Well still. Sorry.” You apologize once more before staring back at the sky. The blonde watches you, noticing you seemed to be bothered with something, maybe, "Long day?"
"Yeah." Licking your lips, you throw the cigarette bud on the floor, smashing it with your shoe.
"Wanna talk about it?"
You laughed, peering at her, you were a bit shocked to hear her asked that, you just expected small talk from her "And why would I want to talk about it to you, a stranger."
"I'm Yelena Belova." The blonde holds out her hand for you to take which you did, "Now i'm not a stranger." She grins at you, shaking your hand.

Please mind the warnings below.
Warnings: death of a romantic partner, depression, mentions of death of a family member, anxiety.
||Part 2|| 🌻 Series Masterlist 🌻
———————————————————————
𝐈 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 The apartment had never been this quiet. It was never so silent. There had always been some kind of white noise, whether that was the coffee pot or the washing machine running. It had never been completely silent, up until now.
You could divide your life into two parts. Before the accident, and after. Before the accident, your life was awesome. Of course, some pretty awful shit had happened to you, but it didn’t compare to all of the good shit that happened too. You liked living. You liked being alive. Now, well, you weren’t as sure.
It had been nine months. Nine months since the worst day of your life. Your life had been so full, and now, it felt so empty.
You get up. You get ready. You go to work. You drive home. You turn on the TV. And then, you just sit.
It’s been a while since the funeral. You couldn’t remember the last time you’d left your apartment for fun. You went to work and you went to the store. That was pretty much it.
The last time you’d left for any reason other than those had to be..maybe six months ago?
You’d gone to a coffee shop with your friend, Sharon.
“You’ve been so different after..you know. I completely understand, of course, but you shouldn’t have to live like this.” She said after sighing. She takes a sip of her latte from the porcelain mug in front of her.
“After my aunt died, I felt just like you, really. Remember my cousin Dottie? She went to a group therapy thing by the old Target. I don’t think they have it anymore, but some office nearby has to have one. I don’t know. I just think it would be good for you.” She suggested.
“I’ll think about it.” You said, knowing you were not going to be thinking about it. Part of you felt ignored, knowing that the relationship between you and your late girlfriend was different than that of Sharon and her aunt. You said nothing, staring down at your own drink.
“Good. I’ll send you some links later, alright?”
You nodded numbly.
You’d really ended up ghosting her after that, along with all of your other friends. Sharon was the only one who continued to try and reach out, sending you a message every two days or so. She didn’t stop, knowing that you were at least reading them.
You’d never reply, but that didn’t stop her.
Your phone vibrated in your pocket as you laid on the couch. You knew exactly who it was.
Hey! There’s a group near your apartment that’s only just starting up. I have a friend who went there for just one on one therapy, and she said the people were super nice. You should think about it 💕
You sighed, letting your phone drop on your stomach. And then, in an instant, it was like you’d just snapped out of a dream. You looked around your apartment, seeing how dirty it had become. Trash littered on the kitchen table and counters, trash bags stacked in a corner. It smelled gross. You smelled gross. You felt gross.
“What are you doing?” You mumbled to yourself, standing up. “This is fucking awful.”
You grimaced, and you realized that Sharon was right. You should think about it.
So you did.
You took out the garbage. You took most of the junk off of the table. You did some of the dishes. You took a nice, long shower. You made some kind of improvement. Even if it wasn’t much, it was at least something.
It was better than nothing. Then, you took Sharon’s advice. Sending her a quick thumbs up emoji, you clicked the link she sent you, opening the website.
A small form later, you were officially signed up. The first meeting would be on Wednesday.
—————————
“What do you think, Nat?” You mumble, adjusting your shirt. You weren’t wearing anything particularly nice, but you could tell there was a stark difference between what you looked like now, and what you’d looked like a few days ago.
You glanced down at the photo of the two of you you’d set on your dresser. Sucking in a deep breath, your phone vibrated in your pocket, your ringtone playing from its speakers. You’d set an alarm for when it was time to go.
The car ride there wasn’t too long. You’d been on much longer car rides before. One summer a few years ago, you and Natasha went on a road trip to a bunch of national parks.
You parked in the parking lot of the large building. Staring up at it, you noticed the logo and name. It was an eagle, you were pretty sure, in a circle. S.H.I.E.L.D. Therapy Offices, white letters on the front of the building announced.
Taking in more deep breaths, you nodded a few times. You were ready for this. Even if you weren't, there's no getting out of it. Not now.
Your legs felt hollow as you walked into the building. You were greeted by a large waiting room, which looked open and friendly enough. There was a reception desk, and a woman with dark brown hair and blue eyes smiled at you.
“Uh..hi,” you greeted awkwardly as you walked up to the desk.
“Hello. Are you here for that group?” She asked, and you felt your eyes widen. How would she know that? Did you look out of place?
“Sorry. We normally don’t have any appointments scheduled around now. Until the group, I mean.” She explained, and you nodded, smiling. Her name tag read ‘Maria Hill’, and you mentally took note of her name.
“Alright, I just need you to fill out this.” She slid a clipboard with some kind of form over the counter.
You smiled again, taking it and going to sit down. There was one other guy already there. He was wearing a purple shirt, his brown hair short. You couldn't tell what color his eyes were as he looked down at his phone.
You filled out the paperwork, going and taking the clipboard back to Maria.
"Thank you. Peter's gonna call you guys in when Dr. Coulson is done." She said, taking the clipboard from you. You went to sit back down, watching your feet.
The door opened, and two men—one short and skinny, and the other was about average height and seemed to have a bit of muscle on him, but you couldn’t be sure—walked up to the reception desk. The smaller one was blonde, with sky blue eyes and pale skin. He wore khaki pants and a t-shirt that was loose on him, and stood quite confidently. Not particularly bold or self-centered, just..open. He seemed very friendly, and you watched through your eyelashes as Maria Hill smiled at something he said.
The other guy dressed with a lot less confidence, and he stood awkwardly next to the blonde man. His hair was brown, and went down to a little above his shoulders. He had a jacket on, even in the warm weather. His eyes were a steel blue, though you only got a glimpse of them.
They quickly filled out their paperwork, and a few more people walked in. Most notably, a redhead. For a sliver of a moment, you mistook her for Nat. You mentally kicked yourself for it. You'd be lying if you didn't believe Nat could just walk through the door of your apartment any moment.
Her voice was warm, friendly. As she spoke to Maria, you could hear it. When she turned to fill out her clipboard, you saw her large doe-like green eyes. She smiled softly at you, before coming to sit a few seats down from you. She was beautiful, you couldn’t deny it.
Pushing that strange thought out of your head, you waited patiently.
A young man, with brown eyes and brown hair, walked through a hallway and into the waiting area. This must be Peter, you assumed.
“You can all follow me this way—Dr. Coulson’s ready now.” He announced.

series masterlist. || main masterlist.
Even with your lunch offer, Wanda couldn’t bring herself to let you do all the work; after picking up sandwiches from her favorite deli, she directed you down the block to her -and apparently, your- apartment building. When realization set in, the two of you had a laugh until you suggested going to your unit.
“You’re serious?”
“What, afraid I’m luring you into my apartment to have my way with you?” Wanda didn’t respond to that, just shook her head as you quickly discovered she did whenever she was talking herself out of a thought. Oh what you’d give to see what was running through that imagination. “Such a good girl, not trusting strangers, but I don’t bite, I promise. We can go to yours instead?”
She had to have told you her apartment number along the way because you’d gotten there with ease, guiding her down the hall with a hand on her back, but two simple words made her forget the whole walk. Wanda was a good kid, an amazing student, she’d heard words of encouragement so many times over the years— none of it affected her how it had earlier.
If you noticed her nerves, you were gracious enough not to point them out even as she carelessly dropped her bag to the floor and ran to the bathroom, shutting the door tight. Wanda calmed herself with a splash of water and a quick talking to, reminding to keep it together. This wasn’t a date, it wasn’t anything, it was lunch. All this meant was you were a decent enough human not to stoop to the level of an overgrown schoolyard bully and feeling bad doesn’t make them a friend. Certainly didn’t mean she had a chance with you.
That rationale didn’t stop her from talking out her nerves in the form of oversharing.
From that, you learned a lot about Wanda. She’s a twin, the younger one as her brother Pietro so often loved to remind her. They were close, but when it came time to choose colleges, he decided on another university in the next state over— mostly because of a very generous track scholarship he was offered. She nearly went with him, wanting to take advantage of their massive literature program, but their father said it’d break his heart if both of them left and Wanda, darling daughter that she is, caved and attended a more local school.
Part of her compromise was being allowed her apartment. Leaving home to live off-campus by herself was an instant no, but for once, Wanda pushed. It was around the same cost of any room and board fees and she had the freedom she insisted on having. Partially to live away from home, but mostly because the possibility of rooming with one of her childhood enemies was high and she’d rather go without college than deal with that stress.
“I raised such a fuss that night, Pietro thought I’d lost my mind. It’s worth it, I think. I like it here.” Here in what turned out to be your shared building, blaming different schedules on why you’d never run into the other. In the end, her dad could rarely hold firm against Wanda’s puppy dog eyes and constant pleas and she won the small space now filled with various plants and cozy furnishings.
“Well, I for one, am very happy to find out the cute girl I’ve been wanting to talk to only lives a few floors away.” You said it so casually, like it was easy as chewing your ham and cheese sandwich to call her cute. It wasn’t helping that she’s just being nice mantra Wanda had going in her head to keep her calm.
While you ate, Wanda searched for any other reason you’d be so flirtatious and came up empty. Still, she couldn’t discount her inexperience for how she perceived your wanting to have lunch, your compliments, even the comment about asking her to dinner could’ve just been a passing joke she hung on to too seriously. She’d never been allowed to date, not that it mattered with how she got treated like the plague, and she didn’t know the first thing about well, anything. Somehow Pietro fared much better in that sense, sneaking out and rebelling any chance he could.
Some nights when she couldn’t sleep, Wanda would catch him stumbling out of the woods that bordered their backyard and tired as she was, helped him climb through the window, questioning him all the while about his disheveled clothes and the glittery lip gloss smeared along his neck. “Stop being dad’s golden child and maybe you’ll find out one day.” Wanda never was bold enough to try nor did she like the options to try with. None of her classmates were interesting enough to be worth getting in trouble for.
The few times she did go out, the situation got the better of her and she had more anxiety than rowdiness. Wanda tried, really she did, there was just so much to remember: how to drink, who to drink with, the perfect things to say and no matter what, she always came up short. Then came that dreadful night after junior prom; her fatal mistake— distressed to the point of tears, Wanda called her father to pick her up, not thinking how not parent-approved the activities swirling around were. His appearance and the subsequent adult discourse at church the next morning solidified her status as Westview’s pious snitch. Ultimately, as much as she hated talking about it, even after Pietro took her side and offered to take matters into his own hands, she didn’t regret it for one day.
Opportunities to act out quickly dropped to zero after that incident. College was supposed to be better, new people and new surroundings, maybe a whole new her if she could figure out how to upgrade, but the proximity to her hometown made the past three years an extended high school. And then, there you were, shiny and brand new, straight out of her prayers— but they got to you first.
Wanda resigned herself to staring at you in class, watching you text under the table with Carol Danvers who’d given you her number almost as soon as you’d first sat in your chair. If you’d been in the front of the class, she’d have slipped you her number instead; that’s what she told herself at least. Everyone else was too fast and forward, and Wanda didn’t stand a chance when everyone’s classes overlapped as much as they did. Each time Wanda caught you looking back at her, she turned away so fast she missed your smile or the silent waves you tried sending her way, too afraid to see if you’d regard her with the same disdain your new acquaintances offered.
There weren’t a lot of people in class today; the middle of the semester meant burn out was creeping in, students skipped more now, but you were there in your usual spot, empty seats all around. If you weren’t always cutting your arrival so short, Wanda could’ve moved next to you, but class began and, not wanting to disrupt, she stayed put. Those next ninety minutes were the most distracted she’d been her entire college career, solidifying exactly how she’d introduce herself, act cool and collected while she gave you her handwritten phone number, written and rejected countless times over so Wanda could draw the little heart at the end just right. She’d been so close too, just feet away from your desk; Brock always had a way of ruining even her best laid plans.
“Earth to Wanda, where’d you go?”
“Huh?” The poor girl had been staring much too intently at her crumpled sandwich wrapper for the last few minutes, having decided she wasn’t listening when she didn’t react after your suggestion to run away and buy an RV. Wanda was adorable when she zoned off, playing with her rings absentmindedly and spinning them around her fingers, but you did wonder where she flew off to. “Sorry, I got distracted.”
“Clearly…” Gathering any lingering trash gave Wanda a task away from your watchful gaze, wiping off the table with another mumbled apology before skipping off to the kitchen. She took a deep breath, steadying herself against what to do now that she’d gotten this far. Her plan only went as far as exchanging phone numbers, maybe putting the digits in your phone if she was brave enough, but you’d skipped that stage and gotten straight to the apartment hangouts and she was… lost.
Luckily for Wanda, you had no problem taking charge. The moment she returned to the living room, you took hold of her arm and pulled her down until she was finally sitting right next to you instead of her far off spot. All of lunch she’d been far away and selfishly, you missed how close you’d been when you walked earlier. Now with Wanda’s thigh brushing against yours, you could see each one of her little reactions intimately. “What’s going on in that head?”
“I was thinking about earlier and got carried away, nothing important.” Wanda shook her head again, hoping to settle at least a fraction of the blush that’d overtaken her face, but when she tried to pull her hand away from yours, you held tight. As much as she loved the feeling of your warm, steady hand wrapped around her cold and shaky one, Wanda feared growing too used to it too fast and having to fight not seeking out your touch from then on.
“If it’s got you this frazzled, it’s gotta be some kind of important. You can tell me, I promise.” You almost wondered aloud who you’d tell, but she didn’t need to be reminded of who you talked to. Not that you’d ever say anything, no, mostly you just wanted to see Wanda all sweet and flustered, committing the sight to memory on the off chance she kept her distance after today.
She stared hard, judging your sincerity before deciding whether or not she’d lie or divulge the truth. Unpracticed as she was with this, Wanda wasn’t an idiot; this afternoon was nice, but she couldn’t blurt out her crush only a few hours after your first official meeting. She could tell half-truths, thoughts buzzing in her brain that ranked lower on the exposure scale to hopefully not scare you away. “Well.. you know how I tried talking to you in class?”
You nodded, politely letting her continue, and Wanda bit the inside of her cheek, trying painfully hard not to think about your thumb rubbing over the back of her hand. It was a small gesture, obviously, but it meant everything to Wanda who’d never been on the receiving end of such gentle reassurance. “I’d been waiting to do that since the first week of class.”
So you weren’t imagining her sneaking glances at each class; good to know you could still sense when someone was into you. Most girls tended to talk way before Wanda did and you started wondering if your attraction to her made her small acknowledgments into something a lot bigger than it actually was. “Why didn’t you?”
“Someone else always got there first.” The truth was embarrassing. As isolated as Wanda had been, she didn’t actively dislike most of her peers. It was that one particular group you hung out with that seemed to go out of their way to not only make Wanda’s life hell, but also warn anyone they possibly could away from ever giving her a chance. She grew up being taught hateful behavior only bred more hate, that it wasn’t polite or productive, but if there was anyone she hated, it was them.
When she saw you with Brock and Carol and the rest of their tiring friend group, she nearly cursed aloud, strangely mad that of all the transfers, they had to get you too— it wasn’t fair. In her defense, Wanda gave ignoring you a good, honest try, but every time she saw you wander through the door, she wanted to be the one who waved you over, who sat with you and leaned in close or put a flirtatious little kiss on your cheek. “You seemed..busy.”
Finally, once the jealousy threatened to consume her alive, she did change course, ignoring you wasn’t working so why not try talking? Worst case scenario, you tell her to shoo or get lost; painful, but nothing she hadn’t heard before. When she heard Brock talking about her, the brunette swore she felt her heart drop into her stomach, any hope she had of possibly getting close to you just… dashed in an instant. She had to pack her stuff quickly, not because she was afraid, but because she felt so embarrassed she knew she’d cry if she heard another word of that conversation.
“I’m not stupid, I know they talk about me. They don’t really try to hide how they feel.” Wanda’s laugh held a bitter edge, laced with the defeat of someone who knew what to expect when trying to make new friends. “I just- I didn’t want to interfere or get you involved with any of their weird… whatever and.. I don’t know, it didn’t seem like it’d go over well to talk to you when you’re already friends with them.”
At first you laughed, disbelieving Wanda could ever think you were off limits just because you’d spent a month or so interacting with people who, admittedly, weren’t the greatest, but one look at Wanda’s troubled face showed she was all too serious. “I can talk to more than one person, you know!”
You weren’t the type to blindly follow everything someone said, preferring to make your own judgements, and after a few hours with Wanda you could tell that, just as expected, she truly wasn’t as bad as everyone made her out to be. Shy and reserved, sure, but you couldn’t count those as bad qualities. Not when she was just as gentle, funny, and kind as you’d imagined she’d be.
“It’s always more than just one person talking or inviting you somewhere or shoving their phone in your face asking you to text them…” The last part was mumbled, but you caught it all the same. Her earlier confirmed watching combined with that last comment had the last piece sliding into place so perfectly in your head, you’re sure you heard a snap.
Wanda didn’t just want to say hi, she wanted what she saw; flirtatious texts, low-spoken promises of naughty after class activities— not that Wanda knew that’s what she was asking for. Sweet thing… you’d show her how it all worked.
“Can I tell you a secret?” You beckoned her closer with a finger and she leant in with innocent curiosity, shivering as you came to whisper in her ear. “I’d rather text you so I’d like your number, if you don’t mind.”
It was the truth; sure you messed around with one of two girls since being here, but none of them stopped you wanting the darling girl in front of you. The longer you sat with her, the more you wanted to know and not just to sleep with her. Not that Wanda would probably let you right away; she didn’t have to say it for you to know she was virginal as a little lamb.
Your lips brushed against her cheek, the barest hint of a kiss, but it stunned Wanda all the same. She pulled back, searching for her phone much more intently than needed to play off how affected she really was. “Does that mean you want to have lunch again?”
“I want to do a lot more than just have lunch with you but..” Eventually you gave Wanda your own phone to give the poor girl something to do where she was not so subtly scrambling. When she handed you hers, you punched your number in and as she took it back, you watched her sign your name off with a set of hearts. How precious. “Yes, if you want to?”
Wanda agreed perhaps a little too eagerly, but she couldn’t stop herself planning your next lunch date complete with food she made herself. She really hoped you liked homemade things. “Absolutely!”

And so it went like that for the following weeks, walking around campus with Wanda and having lunch together when you were both free, going to her apartment multiple times a week to collaborate on school things or just to talk to her. Whatever you were doing, Wanda was a pleasure to be around and she never complained when you copied her answers on homework or came over just to lay on her couch and watch movies.
For Wanda’s part, she might as well have been in heaven; having someone to spend time with regularly was nicer than she remembered. Of course, growing up, she had Pietro, but this was different. You made her laugh just as much as he did, but you didn’t torment her nearly as much, and the big difference, obviously, was that she most certainly did not want to kiss her brother.
When she showed up to your apartment door with a box of heart-shaped sandwiches, she felt silly, but the moment your face lit up when you laid eyes on them… she wanted to drop the food and kiss you until you fell to the floor.
But she’d always wanted her first kiss to be special, memorable and at least pleasant; it couldn’t be over a stupid sandwich in a doorway. So Wanda waited until.. well, until she felt the time was right to politely ask.
You made her nervous, not in the frightened way others had, but with a giddy, butterflies in her stomach feeling that left Wanda always wanting more. If you’d asked Wanda a few months ago, she’d say her ideal romance was to be blissfully swept off her feet like she’d seen in movies, brought flowers, chocolates, and lovingly courted until she finally says yes— meeting you through all of that out her balcony window. For the first time in her life, Wanda wanted what she’d seen her peers get ever since hormones descended over her sixth grade class. She craved casually possessive hugs and touches, that anticipated first kiss… special private time she’d stumbled upon during late-night internet browsing.
The first one thankfully Wanda didn’t have to wait for.
Startling as it was the next day when you not only walked with Wanda to class, but traded your spot in the back of the class to coax her to sit off to the side, she didn’t complain. How could she when you insisted sitting next to her made class more bearable; whether it was true or not, Wanda couldn’t know, but she didn’t care, the compliment made her blush every time.
A chair next to the top student should’ve meant you paid more attention, but it was the opposite. Before you’d watched Wanda from afar, now with her close, you couldn’t help but stare longer, much more intrigued with how she bit her tongue whenever she concentrated than anything your professors taught.
Even more since you’d begun vying for her attention during class, Wanda liked to ask questions of them after lectures were done, getting clarification for anything she couldn’t pick up in the discussion. Jokingly, you called her a nerd, but you took her notes to study from all the same so you figured the least you could do was hang back and wait for her— the perfect opportunity for Carol to strike up a conversation.
“She wheeled you right on in, didn’t she?” The blonde also went to school with Wanda and while she wasn’t ever directly antagonistic towards your new friend, she’d never made an effort to include her either. To you Carol was nice enough; if you were being honest, you hadn’t given it much thought whenever you fell into bed with her.
Hanging out with Wanda meant abandoning your typical seat next to Carol in your Wednesday morning class and while you missed her sharp banter and the silly drawings she snuck in the corners of your notebooks, nothing beat sliding your arm around Wanda and toying with her skirt under the desk. She didn’t fully know what you were up to, grew squirmy as she felt the room’s chill on her thighs, but even when you pinched at her hips, Wanda didn’t want to cause a class disruption by protesting.
Not that you and Carol hadn’t done the same, but Wanda’s reactions were so pure and sweet, just like her. Carol was fun, but Wanda was something else entirely and you actually wanted to get to know her. The brunette was easy to be around in a way you couldn’t remember experiencing and where Wanda didn’t go out of her way to mention your first friend group, you didn’t miss the judgemental looks Carol shot Wanda’s way whether the brunette’s back was turned or not.  “It’s easy when you’re not an asshole. Try it sometime.”
She brushed off your comment, sliding further in your line of sight until she blocked your view of Wanda at the podium. What you two shared might’ve not been serious, but losing your situationship to someone like Wanda was an ego hit Carol refused to believe was actually real. “I’m having a party on Saturday. You’re coming.”
“Guess I’ll cancel my plans…” The singular party of Carol’s you’d been to was a riot. Admittedly, you didn’t remember much besides large hits from shared pre-rolls and waking up in her bed the next morning with a pleasurable ache between your legs, but even after stumbling back to your apartment with a throbbing headache, you were more than excited at the prospect of going to another. Coincidentally, that particularly reckless night was days before you first talked to Wanda and now, only a few weeks later, you hesitated.
“Is anyone invited?” You searched over Carol’s shoulder to find Wanda still chatting away, dutifully scribbling down something your professor was referring to. You couldn’t imagine she’d be upset if you went at all; Wanda might even appreciate a Saturday night to herself after you’d wormed your way into her plans week after week. It was you who didn’t want to go to the party without her.
Both of you knew the singular ‘anyone’ you were referring to, and Carol’s expression soured. “I said I’m having a party, not bible study.”
Sam walked over then, the large guy you’d met at orientation having also made fast friends with the people who threw the best after hours get-togethers. He was nice enough, louder than his roommate Steve, but always a fun time. “Come on, Danvers, she can’t be that bad. Besides, isn’t her dad like, an hour away now?”
Word really did travel fast on this campus. Even new kids retained personal facts about the girl who didn’t know the first thing about them, but Sam was another one who hadn’t bought into the group verdict on Wanda and for that, you were grateful. If you did bring Wanda along, you thankfully wouldn’t be the only one looking out for her. Not that you planned on letting her out of your sight. “I doubt she’d call the police.”
“Doesn’t sound like something I’d want to chance.” She wouldn’t get grounded like she had back in high school, but violating the lease on the house she and her friends rented wasn’t in the cards either. Catching sight of Wanda making her way back over to where the three of you gathered, she nudged your shoulder and you felt a heavy lump in your throat. The last thing you wanted was to be caught talking about her, much less make her believe you were plotting anything malicious.
Carol was well aware of your growing soft spot in the past few weeks, taking note how you instantly shifted focus away from Wanda whenever someone dared bring her up in your presence; it’d almost be sweet if she didn’t hate her. And so, instead of cutting the chat short, Carol waited until she was sure Wanda was within earshot, “If she ruins anything, it’s on you.”
Wanda, reticent as she was, strolled right up to you with a smile, but your stunned face made her brow furrow. She knew she’d been the topic of conversation, both having caught the tail end of Carol’s conditions and gauging the apprehension you regarded her with.
“Look who it is, missionary of the hour…” Carol mumbled, Sam only getting a fraction of his snicker out before you shut him up with a warning glare.
With a nervous breath, you tried playing it off, but the blonde’s icy temperament was impossible to mask, “We were just talking about this thing Carol’s got going on Saturday, but it’s a party so…”
Wanda nodded, ignoring the other woman completely, which only made her stew further. Honestly whatever was said wouldn’t be anything new; she did have a terrible reputation for disrupting parties and she was far past expecting to be wanted there. The hesitation didn’t bother her, but Carol did; if she could come out on top just once, she’d die happy.
So this time, instead of being forced to watch Carol flirt with you and exchange texts in class, Wanda was the one who’d spent hours getting to know you and the last lecture blushing through your teasing, pushing you away when you got too handsy, giggling into her hands when you told her something especially funny; she knew, on some undescribed level, you liked her better.
Maybe that’s where the confidence to link her arm with yours and press a chaste kiss into your temple stemmed from, “Well, I love parties! We have to go!”
If your eyes weren’t already wide enough to fall out of your head, they certainly were now. The blonde’s eyes narrowed, darting between the two of you while Sam, loud as ever, laughed at the clear and present tension between the two women on either side of you. “Last thing: Don’t let her wear anything like…” Carol gestured to Wanda, dressed in a light floral dress and one of her favorite cozy sweaters, “that. I’m not having a church social.”
Wanda’s grip loosened at the insult, brief confidence struck down as fast as it’d come, but you didn’t let her fall away completely, winding your arms around her midsection. “I told her she should wear this sweater today. But don’t worry, she’ll look even cuter than she normally does.” Scooting the stunned girl closer until she was snug between your legs, you kissed her cheek and gave her a squeeze of reassurance.
When Wanda didn’t move a singular muscle, shoulders still slumped, you wished there was a hug tight enough to say I’m sorry I let them hurt you again. “See you Saturday!”
You never did thrive amidst conflict, preferring to sit back and let any drama go by far away from you, but it wasn’t fair staying silent when Wanda could barely stand up for herself. Whether it was your defense of Wanda’s outfit choice or your protective hold you kept, your defense was enough to get Carol to roll her eyes and back off for now, “Fine whatever, I’ll text you the details later.”
Sam left you with a pat on the back, shaking his head at the tension he happened to stumble in on and couldn’t wait to tell Steve and Bucky, “Way to stand up for your girl, kiddo, well done.”
“Don’t call me kiddo! You’re maybe six months older than me, and she’s not my— fuck, whatever.” He was jogging out the door before you could correct him, but you dropped your arms anyway and Wanda tried to ignore the loss she felt. She longed to admit she needed at minimum five more minutes of that hug to truly keep her tears at bay, but she couldn’t ask.
It was bad enough you had to lie about picking her sweater; Wanda threw it on not only because it kept her warm in the often chilly lecture halls, but Pietro bought it for her years ago for her birthday and the familiar fabric kept her calm. She wore the sweater and her current dress often enough for the outfit to be considered a wardrobe staple, Carol saw it constantly; there was no way she didn’t know how pointed her insult was. “Sorry about that…”
Wanda half expected you to run after Carol, trying to smooth things over with her for the sake of preserving whatever you two had that Wanda threatened. Instead she found her hand loosely caught in yours, thumb rubbing over it just as you had the first day she shared her anxieties, and when dim green eyes traveled from your touch to your face, she saw concern so genuine Wanda wanted to fall back into your arms and sob. Not only for herself, but for you and how much of a burden she feared she was already becoming. Her family always dubbed her the crybaby and she couldn’t deny it; of the three of them, Wanda was the first to let her eyes go watery. The only thing worse than dealing with what you’d just witnessed would be having to console the crying mess of your new friend.
But you wouldn’t have minded, not one bit. “Don’t apologize when you didn’t do anything wrong. That’s not fair,”  You spotted her frown and longed to ask her what you could do to help, but as soon as you opened your mouth, Wanda pulled away.
She was quick to replace her sad expression with another smile, pushing your forgotten books into your now empty hands. If you didn’t watch her so much, the sudden change wouldn’t mean anything, but the smile she was trying so hard to pass off didn’t reach her eyes— it wasn’t real. “You’re going to be late for class again, get moving.”
“Well yeah, but…” Clearly, Wanda was deflecting again, you’d be a fool to miss the nervous way she hugged herself tight as if she could hide the knee length dress she’d walked out of her apartment in so happily just hours ago. Choosing the sweater wasn’t a lie, but what you thought about her look wasn’t; Wanda dressed in a comfortable yet sweet style you found wholly endearing. “Are you alright? I didn’t mean for all that to happen, I only wanted to ask if I could bring you along.”
The brunette scoffed loudly and in the interest of not making the situation any worse, you ignored how her voice cracked, “I’m fine, don’t worry about me.”
“Right okay, I just- I’ll see you later then? If you’re up for it?” If Wanda didn’t want to talk about it now, maybe this afternoon she’d be up to discuss and unfortunately, she was right. You only had about ten minutes now to rush across the courtyard to your next lecture; no time to argue with her. It was too early in the semester to routinely skip all of your classes.
Wanda joined you to the door, hands tight around her backpack strap. The walk was short, too short; you hated leaving her to fend for herself when she was obviously still upset. You’d make it up to her later, maybe ask her favorite movie and bring over pizza to watch it with her. For now, resolved to be on time, you left her with a hurried wave and a clumsy sprint that admittedly did make her chuckle just a little, “You know where to find me!”
With you gone, tears pricked at the corners of her eyes and Wanda wiped them away with the knit sleeve of the sweater she couldn’t stand wearing right now. It was too cold out to only have her shoulders exposed, but she tore it off anyways, bundling it as small as she could in her clammy palms.
She walked briskly, destination clear, but for once, she wasn’t going home. Any other time, Wanda would’ve been polite enough to text ahead and assure she was welcome, but the harder it got to hold back a full cry, the less she worried about etiquette. If anyone could tell her what to do, how to proceed, anything… it was them.
From the class schedules they’d shared with her at the beginning of the year, they should be in; Wanda hoped their ‘you’re welcome whenever you want some company, no questions asked’ sentiment held true just this once.
The route home seemed endless, late summer breezes stinging her blotched cheeks; she looked a mess and she knew it, her frazzled appearance driving her to practically run down her apartment floor hall. Wanda knocked on the door just a few doors down from her own, the one she hated to bother but loved being in all the same, “I know it’s the middle of the day, but I really need your help, please?”
