has Peach ever seen Mario like that? during those phantom pain moments I mean- or has she ever assisted Luigi in helping him? or was Mario too stubborn and unwilling to let her see him like this? what about Toad? sorry that makes a lot I just love the dynamics you’ve got for the characters so far and I’m a sucker for that type of hurt/comfort
Yes! She has. Although it took a long time before she first saw it.
My idea was that Mario and Peach slowly grew closer and closer over time. They would talk about Earth and what it was like.. they would talk about life in the Kingdom.. they would spend hours together. Eventually Peach started to invite Mario to chat in her private living quarters. Basically like her own personal living room.
Now, Mario was always very careful to not let anyone know he deals with this. Especially not Peach. The last thing he wanted was for Peach to see him as weak. But the more time he spent with Peach, the more comfortable around her he got. And the more comfortable he got.. the more often he dosed off..
Eventually one day he had that dream again. And that phantom pain came with it. Mario tried to walk it off, he tried to hide it. But it was clear something was wrong. He was so afraid of what Peach would think of him.. but to his surprise, she was supportive.. So he ended up telling her everything. And she was still supportive.. Mario just didn't understand it..

if one (1) person asks I will post an in depth analysis of every panel [UPDATE: the analysis is buried in the reblogs somewhere and on my blog if anyone is interested]
I think Bubby stays in the ship most of the time due to his fear of heights. Coomer can very well handle himself but when in the presence of others (Gordon) he will stand in the face of danger just to ramble out its description. Tommy is like me and just kind of runs off 80% of the time without much warning, but keeps frequent check-in's over the walkie. Benrey is there to just bother Gordon
