One of my favorite visual details of a story is when a character's eyes are vacant because they're this shell of what they used to be and then something happens that enlightens them and makes them happy again. 😭

So... How far have you read the WB manga? Well, you see... Maybe I have a request that could be angst? Buuuuut I don't want to give spoilers and make you uncomfortable with it (the spoiler) 🤧

dw dw ive alr read all the way to the end of the manga the second i watched ep 1 of the anime 😌 though i may have to refresh my memory a bit by rereading the manga considering how i read the entire thing in one night 😅 you're comfortable to send me whatever angst that your heart desires! i love angst and am always happy to write it, as long as it doesn't breaks my rules of requesting :)

Need I remind yall that Blackbeard has consistently and relentlessly mocked and disrespected both the dead and those left behind that cared for them too. Like Absalom was god awful, but Blackbeard killed him in cold blood and then had the nerve to mock Moria about it when he was grieving his lost crewmate. He mocked the WB pirates over Thatch and then still had the nerve to mock Whitebeard's BODY because he was a coward to his face. He kidnapped Bonney with the sole purpose of turning her over to the Navy because he's not capable of getting anything he wants without throwing others under the bus in front of him. And that's not even to mention manga only spoilers too.

These sound like solid reasons to vote for Blackbeard! (Also thanks for not including the spoilers! 🙏🫶)

some major WB pirates timeline points after reading it

the graves were placed on the island that Marco is currently on and the crew decided to stay there to look after WB’s precious home

they lived in peace together on the island while protecting it from invaders

the island is where the payback war had happened after about a year which wiped out everything except a small hidden village

there were probably a lot more casualties within the WB crew again and they were likely buried with the Marineford War victims 

the rest of the crew dispersed to protect themselves from further losses from people like Weevil and the Marines

with the new information we know the Whitebeard pirates have been separated and in full hiding for about a year. it’s unknown if they’re in communication with one another or not

OK, I finally found full texts of One Piece Novel A and Noval Law and read them and now I’m having feels.

Warning: Novel A and Novel Law (plus some current chapter) spoilers below

Novel A:

Apparently, most of the Spade Pirates joined White Beard Pirates once Ace was accepted himself. Ace also had a big cat (linx?) that got friendly with Thatch. I wonder if they went to Marineford to rescue Ace back then, and whether they’re still alive at this point. Since Marco and Izo are joining Luffy & co to fight Kaidou and Big Mom, I assume they’ll have a catchup after Wano Arc and maybe Luffy will meet other WB Pirates too. Is Luffy finally going to see Ace’s past crewmates, the ones that he started his voyage with? Is Luffy going to take over the linx??? I need to knooooooow. Especially about the linx. Kotatsu is such a good boy. And apparently has a very cute purr. I want Luffy to keep him. It’ll be fun. And I assume Jimbei already met the big cat before, him being close with WB Pirates and Ace and all. Anyway. The cat.

I do want to see Masked Deuce and Skull too. I think Skull can be of great help to Luffy with his intellegence collection. And Deuce’ll tell Luffy all the stories of the Spade Pirates’ adventures.

Novel Law:

OK Law, stop pretending you’re some edgy, cold-hearted killer. Because you’re obviously a big, big softy and a doctor to heart (pun intended). This dude has a stubborn pride about being a doctor and saving lives to the point that I really doubt he’s actually killed anyone. Some “Surgeon of Death”, huh. Also a big tsundere that claims “I just feel like doing it” every time he saves someone without expecting any kind of payback. Canonically speaking, I believe he saved Luffy during Marineford entirely out of his pride as a doctor, but of course he had to like Luffy enough in the first place to actually care to do that. I bet he was quite proud of the fruit of his labor when he ran into Luffy again in Punk Hazard. Noncanonically he fell in love with Luffy at first sight.

Anyway, I’m so happy to know Law had some very kind people other than Cora-san in his life to help him start loving others again. Oh, and I bet he was secretly very happy when Luffy said alliance meant friendship lol

Regarding Law’s motives to be a pirate, it’s made very clear in the novel that he set out to sea to 1. finish Cora-san’s job and deal with Doffy; and 2. to seek the meaning of “true freedom” that Cora-san talked about. So he has no interest in One Piece or being Pirate King in the first place. Now that Doffy had been dealt with, I think he’s only staying in the alliance because the entire premise of the alliance is taking down Kaidou together. Not sure what he’ll do once the Wano Arc is over, but I’m at least certain that Luffy will somehow help him find his true freedom, since Luffy wants to be the most free person on the sea and has always been freeing others along his adventures. Maybe he’ll stick around and become part of the Straw Hat Fleet??

Also some headcanons: 1. Shachi is the stylist of the crew and cuts everyone’s hair; 2. although everyone takes turn to cook on Polar Tang including Law, they all look forward more to the days when it’s Shachi or Penguin’s turn; 3. Penguin will take everyone’s order first before handing them over to whoever’s on cooking duty that day; 4. they’re all hooked on Sanji’s cooking by now, after the Straw Hats’ arrival on Zou.

Phew this got long. I had much more to say about Novel Law than Novel A because Novel A mostly expands on information we already knew from manga/anime while Novel Law provides some new backstories.
