Iâll never forget how insecure Stansaâs got when the Key Five was revealed, complained about it and then to cope they created the âCore Sixâ and actually ties into their continuous stream of passing of fanon as canon and at the same time being the usual delusional bunch theyâve always been
What's really funny is that they still confidently claim that the Key Five doesn't mean anything, solely because she isn't a part of it. The Core Six is a completely fanon invention but people talk about it like it's fact. They want her to be more important than she is so badly that they're straight up ignoring the author. And yes, until otherwise stated by George, the Key Five are still a thing. Tbh I'm not sure if there was ever a time that they engaged with the source material though? A lot of them came from the show (*cough*fanfiction) so that's where a majority of their takes are coming from. That's why we get people saying things like "Sansa charmed George off the page" or "Sansa took Arya's place as George's favorite Stark sister". They just desperately want the show to match up with the books. What's annoying is that her not being a part of the Key Five doesn't mean she isn't important, but people take it as hate towards her. It's sad that the only version of her they like is her fanon one.

Kinda random, but what made me really start shipping Kataang was how determined Aang was to get Katara's necklace back from Zuko, especially when we know how important said necklace is for her both as part of her family and part of her culture. And the thing is, Aang is always doing nice things for Katara without expecting any reward, like offering to fly her to the North Pole and refusing to train under sexist Pakku. Things that made me go from "this is a cute ship with good development" to "this is my OTP."đđ§Ą
So true, anon thatâs a great scene!! Hmm I donât know what made me ship it cuz I was 5 when I watched it for the first time so I really didnât care about ships. But as I got older I started watching the show for Katara and she kept touching him and asking him how she looked dhdjfj it was beyond obvious TO ME (bass amplified).
That and every time she cried over him. It just felt really intense Iâd be like why are you crying queen đ«đ«đ« sheâs so extra I canât.
But I think a singular scene that really made me ship them was in The Serpentâs Pass when he said she made him believe in hope and she cried. When I think about it, Aangâs opinion seems to mean a lot to Katara and I think he notices that and makes sure to praise her so she wonât doubt herself. I liked seeing the fmc be praised and loved by the boy she liked without having to grovel and look pathetic, you know?
That reminds me of a meta I read the other day about how Sokka (yes I have to mention sokka or katara when I talk about the other đ€Ș) doesnât really take compliments and I think Katara is also like that in a less extreme way.
Like when she tried to discredit herself when she revived him with the spirit water and Aang was like hello you literally saved my life??? dhdjdj I donât care what delusional fanon shippers have to say, Aang compliments and appreciates Katara more than anyone, and thatâs my fave part of their dynamic.
Anyways yes I agree with you. Aang always does what Katara wants simply because he wants to and she wants to. They donât really force the other to agree with them either, even tho they both clearly care a lot for each otherâs opinions. I think the show does a great job of setting the foundation for their romantic relationship this way through all these platonic moments.
Back to my fave scene in the Serpentâs Pass, I especially like how that scene shows Aang letting go of one of his beliefs for Katara which is linked to bigger moment of him refusing to let go of her to master the avatar state in the Guru, and eventually finding a whole new way to end the war while still staying true to himself. I donât wanna say Aang and Katara getting together is integral to his arc or her arc, but I do think they link it in this way on purpose, and itâs why a lot of people that claim âAang never changedâ often donât ship Kataang and the same for people that hate Katara and call her annoying then say they didnât understand the ship. Like clearly my guy.
Anyway, to sum up this ramble đ€ this is why I love the Serpentâs Pass scene and think itâs very underrated among kataang fans. Iâm curious to know what kataang scene made oomfs ship too? I loved this ask and thank you for sharing that with me anon xx

I was just thinking, what do you think Chris's love language would be? I tried imagining what it might be, and surprisingly I can't decide on it. I was thinking that words of affirmation might be one? In both fics he reassures and comforts Ryan with his words, but then I got thinking about GP and the end of chap 4. He's growing somewhat touchy, and jealous (although I don't think the latter a love language?) so then I wondered if physical affection could be in the mix too. But it's difficult to say bcs he usually tries to hold himself at a distance doesn't he đ€
Also, I was rereading the chapters again, and I finally have theory about how he could be watching Ryan in the basement. So, you said Ryan knows about the cameras now, but from what we know (that Ryan knows) is that they're outside camp by the trails and stuff. But what if Chris has also got cameras inside?
But then I sort of scratched that bcs Ryan would have noticed a camera in the room...unless it was one of those sneaky hidden cameras that don't look like one? đ€ then I got thinking about why he'd wanna watch Ryan do laundry in the first place, is there a reason for that which will be revealed later or no? If Chris has managed to spy on him in there another way, that would be really cool and equally creepy. But I'm here for that, it's spooky season, and it's a horror game anyway đ€Ș
ahhh, itâs such a good question! and such complicated one, when it comes to them. mostly, bc their relationships are always balancing on line of what âcanâ one do and, then what one âwantsâ to do, and technically still can, but it might be taken as them committing smth inpropriate. tho funny enough, the game on itself, low-key cheers it on. so itâs more of chrisâs own inner issues, really. personally, i donât think, that most of hacketters (not all clearly) would care if ryan slept with their camp operator lol. but when it comes to chris there is the major issue of him âallowingâ himself to act on his desires/instincts, bc he himself view them as âbad thingâ. so yeah, for the most part he only uses his words as showing ryan, that heâs very important to him. i mean, in the beginning heâs sort of reached out to him only via conversations, and very small portions of supposedly âfatherlyâ touches. but back then, his affection was also of a different nature vs how it progressed from there on (if we take fanon of ASB, at least). the best way i can put it is that chris wants to do more, but feels like he canât.Â
and tbh, this is one of those aspects, that i find hella intriguing in their dynamic. it can go a few ways, and there is always a âlineâ, that chris would try not to cross, but usually, does end up crossing, anyways. but how far that âlineâ lies heavily depends on ryanâs responses. or on how openly he provokes the reaction from chris. and like, ryan was still somewhat modest in ASB. but how modest will he be in GP, when heâs the one, who will eventually have all kinds of âleveragesâ? and how much longer can chris ignore all that temptation, when itâs literally being shoved into his face? now, that's a thing to take in consideration. but ah, iâll leave it here for now! i already sorta walked away from the main question. so back to chrisâs way of showing affection/love, in GP there will be more physical stuff later on. but as far as it goes now, i guess, we can say that words/eye contact and teasing of proximity is chrisâs main established love language atm lol. but there are always new forms to express it too.
and ah, youâre spot on! there are cameras inside the lodge too. naturally, chris wouldnât tell this to anyone, bc it would make them wary and rightfully so. like itâs one thing to track what happens around the camp, but what good can the cameras inside the lodge do? well, prob none. but thatâs until you take in consideration what exact locations of these cameras are. one is inside the basement for sure. and from what we know, from the prologue alone, is that chris used the basement as a container for himself, on time of the full moon (at least occasionally). so itâs safe to say, that he didnât use that camera for anything âcreepyâ, right until he didnât notice ryan going there day after day, and started, well yeah, doing just that. being creepy about it lol.Â
as for how come that ryan didnât see the cameras, the answer is kinda simple tbh. for one, he didnât have a reason to look for one, or even truly admire the ceiling or just go around the place. for example, there are cameras all over the big malls, but usually, an average person wonât even bother to pin-point where it might be located or even consider, that they might be filmed right now. itâs kinda the same principle here. then, ryan is also tired and sleep-deprived, so his attention to the details isnât the best. oneâs vision get all fucked up, when you donât sleep well for weeks, so itâs hard to see smth small, so far away, esp in the fairly poorly lighted room. and yeah, this will be touched upon, and ryan will actually attempt to âput the piecesâ together, haha. i also was considering later on, making a single chapter, that would be sorta a recap of âmajorâ happenings in GP, but from chrisâs perspective, which will give a different spin on some things, that we can only see through ryanâs eyes. anyways, the explanation to how chris was watching ryan is fairly âdown to earthâ, less so the reason why he just kept on watching him, over and over. making all kinds of assumptions. and thenâŠwhere the rest of cams are? was he also watching ryan elsewhere? soon, ryan will learn exactly that.Â
anyhow, thank you for the question! i had fun answering it, so hopefully it was somewhat fun to read too, haha. like even if the cameras âintrigueâ is killed now, there are different âsuddenâ things to come. ryanâs (mis)adventure into Hackett's quarry lore had only started.

Iâm really bothered that Love-Square Shippers are now assuming that just because Luka knows Ladybug and Chat Noirâs identities, that heâs a love-square shipper now. Iâve been seeing comics and posts about how âLuka is one of us now đ€Șâ but is he? I know Iâm bias because I like Lukanette, but I didnât get that vibe from the episode at all. If anything I would say that Luka seemed a bit disappointed/sad that Marinette and Adrien are âdestinedâ to be with each other, not happy? Yeah he wants to be there for them now (Iâm assuming based on that last comment he made, âthanks to Ladybug and Chat Noirâ), but where on Earth did the episode elude to him shipping the Love-Square? Do you have an opinion on this?
(first, lol, appreciate the jab at them with the âđ€Șâ; it really emphasizes their complete lack of respect)
Not really an "opinion," more just exactly what I've read from one of the ambassadors for the show (though I agree that, fanon-wise, he should be disturbed by the whole "destiny" thing; he would want Marinette to be with someone because she chose to, not because fate chose for her and refused to let her think otherwise, and I'd also say that - if anything - he should be thrown off the love square because Ladybug doesn't love Chat). I'll drop the screenshot mess of tweets along with the summary of them below:
- Yes, the green ice cream in "Wishmaker" is meant to represent Viperion, though the ice cream itself is """platonic/friendship""" ice cream (pretty sure that's a retcon of "Glaciator" but that's not what we're talking about). Honestly, considering that 90% of the current ships in the show are such trash, yes, just give me them being best friends and I can have them get together later in life via fanon; I can't imagine how badly the show would unintentionally ruin their relationship if they were endgame).
- The apparent message between Adrienette VS Lukanette is that Adrien is Marinette's """romantic soulmate""" while Luka is her platonic soulmate. The idea of platonic soulmates is not one I'm vehemently against (people can have multiple friends after all) but of course here we go with "romantic soulmate" and I've already explained how I feel about that. Luka has also apparently known since "Truth" that Adrien was Marinette's soulmate (you know, the episode where the problem was her identity and then they retcon'd it) and thus wants to help them get together. He "has the maturity" to "know that he's already had his chance with her" (after they broke up not due to incompatibility) so he prefers her to be happy with Adrien "if that's what she wants" (not like anyone has bothered asking her what she wants while the narrative holds her at gunpoint, but okay), even though he still loves her.
- The scene of Viperion looking sad after seeing Chat Noir's identity is because "everything makes sense" to him and he emphasizes with how difficult it is for them. Luka also never saw Adrien as "competition" since they're """good friends""" ("Party Crasher" flashbacks over here where Adrien is just handed friendships on a silver platter), and thus it wasn't that he "realized he couldn't compete," which is stupid. He doesn't have low self-esteem either and is the kind of person who isn't affected by much, allowing him to focus on others. He doesnât need a person to complete him and is his own person. It's not that he isn't "good enough" for Marinette; he is, as they're best friends now, but her heart beats for Adrien (all I'm hearing is "destiny and soulmates") and he understands that.
- This was the thing that annoyed me the most out of all that: Luka will be appearing more, apparently, and now he's an important support for - wait for it - both Marinette and Adrien. Basically, all I got from that is the show going, "oh, thank god this side romance is over; now Luka can focus on the important thing: Adrien!" and Marinette is now going to have her best support shared while her other support betrayed her last episode, unbeknownst to her. Adrien let his identity get revealed by allowing himself to be hit by the akuma, and not only was time reversed so he faced no consequences, but he'll be rewarded as Luka secretly supports him.

Hi! Before starting this, I hope you're safe and are having a good day!
So, I came across a post on IG where the person twisted almost every interaction with Gwyn we had in ACOSF and said with such enormous conviction that she's secretly a Lightsinger when all the evidences they provided were just...fanon. I commented on their post claiming that she can't be that because the Lightsinger theory goes against every canon info we have about her character and it's disgusting to twist a strong SA survivor into those creatures.
Here's the important part. An Elriel replied that I should stop weaponizing Gwyn's SA. I swear my mind went blank for a few minutes. Was it really weaponizing Gwyn's SA trauma when I called out their fanon theory that they were passing as canon? I'm genuinely curious about it though because Gwyn's trauma is a delicate subject and the Elriels are the ones who keep invalidating it.
Furthermore, the Elriel also said that if I want people to take my argument seriously, I should provide textual evidence why Gwyn can't be a Lightsinger.
Honestly, did we read the same book? Literally nothing in the book suggests that Gwyn is a Lightsinger. It's only the Elriels who keep screaming it at the top of their lungs.
I sometimes wonder if all Elriels are this stupid or if they have the comprehension skills of a potato. After this, how can they expect anyone to take them and their ship seriously?
I still don't understand why they're so hellbent on making Gwyn a Lightsinger while also claiming that they don't think she's evil lol.
But anyway, sorry for the long rant. I'm simply a big fan of your blog and all the arguments you present.
Thank you for bearing with me!
OMFG this kind of logic is driving me crazy.
"Prove I'm wrong" well you just pulled something out of your ass and I don't handle bullshit directly since I'm allergic, so...
So first off, not wanting a SA survivor to be vilified and compared to a rapist is not "weaponizing" her SA. You aren't saying that she can't be a lightsinger because of her SA, you are saying that making an SA survivor into a villain makes you uncomfy, and that is completely valid. You said she couldn't be a lightsinger because of canon. That's very different.
I've noticed a lot of people throwing around words they don't understand, which on the one hand, okay. That's fine, we don't know all the words, we haven't learned all the concepts, we learn things intentionally or incidentally or whatever.
But people using these words in arguments, to make other people feel ashamed, is just đ€Ș Words have meaning, concepts have meaning and context that you can't always get from a dictionary (hence why I tell my students to look beyond dictionaries and go to more discipline-specific sources, but anyway), and those meanings are important.
Literally nothing in the book suggests that Gwyn is a Lightsinger.
Literally nothing!
LIterally nothing
LITerally NOThing!!!!
I sometimes wonder if all Elriels are this stupid or if they have the comprehension skills of a potato. After this, how can they expect anyone to take them and their ship seriously?
I don't want to speculate about anyone's intelligence because like I said before, people don't always know things. I can't expect people to have had the same access to education that I did. But it does get frustrating when people dig in their heels and not only misuse these words and concepts, but refuse to improve their knowledge of them.
It's the last gasp of a dying subfandom. They're just making a mess on their way out the door.
Sorry for responding to this late, I have had a lot of grading! As usual!
