I don't know what to tell you, man. None of that should feel like pulling teeth. If you truly dislike reading books, do yourself a favor and find another outlet for creativity that doesn't require it. Ask yourself if you want to be a writer or if you just want to be perceived as the kind of person who writes—if it's the latter, thrift a tweed coat with leather elbow patches and keep vaguely alluding to an unfinished novel.

#i haven't even watched s2 yet also when i tell you i saw official merch in a mall and i JUMPED at it #i could ramble abt link click all day #the animation ofc is gorg even if it can look a bit goofy and off model sometimes #THE STORYTELLING.... insanity (affectionate)#the first episode is extremely compelling from the get go with no bulky exposition it's conveyed naturally and immediately introduces us to #-the main 'gimmick' for lack of a better word and still hits so many emotional beats in the FIRST EPISODE #characterises our main trio (less so qiao ling but we see her more later) AND fleshes out a stranger's life in 20 minutes????#(the whole thing is that they dive back in time thru photos to solve clients problems so each episode introduces us to new strangers with-#-different backstories and problems and characterisation and the DEPTH with which they're portrayed is lovely)#all while also furthering our understanding of the main duo of cheng xiaoshi and lu guang AND with broader story things happening in the bg #not to mention ofc the chinese title of the donghua is 时光代理人 quite literally time agents and the way i was like waitttt #程小时 as in xiaoshi like hours and 陆光 put it tgt and u got the shiguang in the title as in time so they complement each other.... oughhh #but yeah the way they handle levity and humour and balance it with drama and tragedy is perfect godd it's wonderful #link click #personal

Idk who needs to hear this, but if you think you are annoying and that no one likes you, just be glad you aren't my Earth Surface Processes professor who is so awful at his job and so hated by his students that we had an insult tally on the whiteboard during our 2 hour study session.

(Do not feel bad for this man. He absolutely deserves it.)

#regarding our midterm (worth 20% of our grade) alone he:#1a) randomly moved it from in 2 weeks to in 9 days claiming it was department policy #1b) This was apparently a LIE as stated by a different geoscience professor who then encouraged us to complain to the higher ups #2a) released the exam study guide a day late #2b) Study guide was poorly worded with repeat questions/grammatical errors/run-on sentences/conflicting information #2c) got a bit annoyed when we asked about the conflicting info #3) Responded to yes or no questions with “sort of” (Ex: will we be provided the equations)#4) decided to add a new question onto the exam and guide 2 days before the midterm #5) negelcted to teach us how to solve one of the problems until 2 days before the midterm #6) was not present for his own office hours (never told us that he canceled or anything he just didn't show up)#and like i said this is regarding the midterm ALONE #Some insult highlights:#“Why does he love soil creep so much?” “Because that was his nickname in high school.”#“*Student* has been teaching us the content in the past 30min better than *Prof* ever has in an hour and 15.”#“I am not convinced that *Prof* is a human being. haven’t had such a nice day in so long

#visited my childhood friend of 20 years in the city she had moved to #she picked me up from the train #then treated me to a delicious lunch and cake #we watched the start of the new gntm season #then she made my nails and omg I’m in LOVE #I’ve never seen her be this focused on something before agdhgj she did such a good job #we also had wine while doing that and listened to fun music #after we went to a cute immersive light show exhibition thingy #and then she borrowed me some of her clothes bc she had convinced me to go out #and my god was she cute and supportive and sweet about it #and I really really needed all that #she’s that friend that always gets hit on when we’re out if you remember That story of me being miserable #WELL the queue in front of the club was too damn long so we just went home again so that was great for me ahdjgj #all in all such a lovely day I adore her lots she made me feel so loved today

all my old fav youtubers coming back this fall has gotten me into a mood where I've been diving back into old bands I used to listen to religiously. and i gotta say ... they all still slap

something i was thinking about on stand yesterday.. danganronpa shsl lifeguard who tries to save a dying person they find, bonus points if they dont come clean about it at first because they think they actually killed that person with their efforts

#or if they do actually kill them which would be really tragic. this happens in chapter 4 of course #ok i actually put way too much thought into this. to put it into perspective i had shifts with 5 hours on stand saturdsy and sunday #i thought of it on saturday 20 mins in. so this concept has been in my brain for a while #anywayyy im thinking she had some pretty high profile eddie aikau type saves and got a little famous off that #AND is always offering to help people #so for the sake of writing another tragic athlete yuri ch4: i think the victim in her case is someone who is adamant about not wanting help #like a woman playing a sport typically seen as being manly (american ‌foot‌ball rug‌by wrestlin‌g etc etc)#im imagining shes from a family of pretty good (male) athletes and is constantly dealing with comparisons to portray her as weaker #she wont accept help or medical assistance because she thinks it makes her weak. which is a trait female characters should have more #so you get two really valid worldviews and its debatable whether the victim actually needed medical assistance/help or if it #just made things worse #anyway im imagining the ending of the previous chapter shows a black screen with #'unknown: hey hey are you okay?'#and ms life guard tries to give her situationship a slightly dignified resting place so we dont discover the body for a little while #not too long but a little while #actually i think the lifeguard killing the athlete with chest compressions would make a really compelling scenario #where the actual person with murderous intent was someone who poisoned or near-fatally hit the athlete #and they get to walk free (under extreme suspicion from other students) while the girl who got sooo close to saving her dies #lifeguard could be someone whos easily distracted but locks in while on duty to the point where shes like a different person #but slipping up and breaking the athletes rib (or whatever) was her one moment of panic #because she cared about the victim on a personal level #i neednto be sedated so i shut the fuck up. tomorrow is the first day of school bro #i DID say i had 10 hours to think about this

i’ve been sort of unintentionally sitting on most of my only friends opinions but really they largely just amount to ‘thank you, she was perfect, if you get it you get it, if you don’t you don’t.’

#one day i’ll get bored and just write an entire thesis called ‘in ardent defence of only friends’ and it will be my magnum opus #and/or just me rambling about the immense attention to detail and deliberateness in all the decisions and the way the show set everything #up piece by piece like an interesting and fun little puzzle #that it’s not supposed to be a manifesto it’s just supposed to be a 12 episode snapshot into four insane months in this group of young #people’s lives. and that viewing the characters and relationships as early 20-somethings through the eyes of a slightly older and more #experienced lens (like once you’re out of your 20s and removed enough away from that time) feels like a big part of #why i found the experience as a whole so gratifying #it’s like looking back at your youth and saying wow we really lived like this #idk it’s not gonna hit the same for everyone and that’s ok but #to me it was by far the most interesting use of a university setting in a bl imo imo imo #show: only friends #only friends the series
