Weasley Wednesdays
I will be doing a new thing on tumblr called Weasley Wednesdays where every wednesday I want to show some love to the Weasleys by posting a little snippet of fics I’m working on, sharing a headcanon I love or anything else to do with the Weasley generations.
On this #WeasleyWednesdays I want to share a little snippet from my new fic surrounding Ginny visiting Charlie in Romania - taking a little time off from being a fulltime mom and sports news editor for the Daily Prophet.
‘Are you ready, shadow?’ a familiar voice breaks through her thoughts that had been filled with worry about her children and her husband.
She looks up at her older sibling, Charlie, who is standing next to her now. They look down at her with a broad smile spread across their face. She smiles at the fact that her sibling still calls her the same nickname after all those years.
When Ginny was just a kid, she always followed Charlie around like a shadow. Most siblings would be annoyed at their younger sibling following them around all the time, but that was never the case with the two of them. Charlie would give her a piggyback through the garden of the Burrow or they’d run around the garden playing tag, trying to find bugs or because they were playing catch with a quaffle. They used to spend hours in the garden in which Charlie would teach Ginny all about Quidditch. Ultimately shaping her into the Quidditch player she was.
‘Here’s your broom,’ Charlie hands Ginny one of their brooms.
‘Do you ever wonder what it’d be like if we could’ve played on the same team during Hogwarts?’ Ginny asks him, one hand on her waist and the other around the broomstick.
Charlie chuckles. ‘I don’t think anyone would’ve been ready for that. They definitely wouldn’t have stood a chance against us as a team.’ They wink at her before mounting their broom. ‘I know you’ve been retired from Quidditch for a while now, but how about a little race?’
Ginny narrows her eyes at them. ‘Oh, you’re on. Show me what you got, grandpa.’ she says, sticking out her tongue before pushing her feet off the ground.

Weasley Wednesdays
Another week, another Weasley! This one is a whole bunch of Weasleys (and Scorpius) from chapter 2 of my WIP: (if only you would) take my hand. If someone could yell at me to continue this, that would be great. Also, if anyone wants to hear more about it, or anything else writing related, I would be happy to answer some asks :)
Albus and Scorpius walked into chaos the next morning, as all mornings at the Burrow started out. Lily and Lucy were playing an intense game of gobstones in the corner whilst Grandma Molly was running about trying to get breakfast sorted. James and Freddie were definitely planning something in hushed voices but Albus steered Scorpius away from them and led them into the kitchen, where Bill, George, Angelina and Audrey were helping Grandma Molly with the cooking.
“Oh look, the dead have finally woken,” uncle George joked just as Scorpius let out a yawn. They both had actually woken rather early but had chosen to stay lying in bed a little longer, Scorpius was reading a potions book whilst Albus contemplated the meaning of life - you know, casual morning things.
“I need coffee,” Albus mumbled, rolling his eyes when Scorpius giggled next to him.
Bill poured him a cup and passed it to Albus. He took a grateful sip almost immediately, allowing the heat to travel through his bones. Bill looked at Albus in disbelief, then to Scorpius. “Is he always like this?”
“Every morning without fail,” Scorpius said, patting Albus on the back whilst he sipped his drink. “Then I have to give him about ten minutes for the caffeine to kick in before he can talk to me.”
“Reminds me of Charlie,” George smirked. Albus frowned, his uncle Charlie wasn’t able to make it over this Christmas, which means it’s been a year since he saw him last. They were making improvements at the sanctuary and Charlie was tied up with a lot of the developments and Albus missed having him around. He could always rely on his uncle Charlie to be there for him when he needs. He also really wanted Scorpius to meet him, which is why it hit a little harder when Albus received his owl informing him that he wasn’t coming.
“Uncle Charlie never judges me for my coffee habits,” Albus said, sticking his tongue out at his other two uncles.
“Two bad uncle Charlie isn’t here, kiddo,” George ruffled his hair and grinned. “Anyway, I need your help, Al, your Grandpa needs some help moving something in his shed, he asked me to get you.”

Weasley Wednesdays
I love to think of Dominique Isabelle (named after her mother) Delacour-Weasley (she/they) as the Ravenclaw Seeker. She has always been very fond of the sport, her parents don’t know a time that she didn’t love watching and playing Quidditch.
As a very young child, Dominique used to love going to Quidditch games, especially the ones where her aunties Ginny and Angelina played in. Ginny and Angelina were both Chasers for the Holyhead Harpies. They had played together before in the year of 1995-1996, during their years on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Ginny had to fill in for Harry as the Gryffindor Seeker and Angelina was the first Quidditch Captain Ginny had known. So it wasn’t a surprise to her that Angelina was appointed Captain of the Holyhead Harpies before going on to become their Coach after she retired from playing Quidditch herself.
Dominique used to have a poster of both her aunts on her wall, they even asked them to sign them for her. I’d love to think the young Ravenclaw got a lot of help from her aunts Ginny and Angelina when it came to practicing Quidditch before they tried out to make the Ravenclaw team. Getting a lot of Seeker advice from Charlie and Harry. Dominique also often joined Ginny, James and Rose for some training. The Weasley family hosted a lot of family Quidditch games during Family days, it was Angelina and Ginny that got Dominique her very first own broom on the day that she was allowed to join them for a family game of Quidditch.
Dominique used to describe the day she finally got to join them and got her very own broom as one of the most beautiful days of her entire life. One of the other ones was the day she caught the snitch during the last game against Gryffindor and it resulted into Ravenclaw winning the Quidditch Cup, getitng lots of praise from Rose and squished hugs from James. It was pretty clear that Dominique, being short and really fast on her broom, had a lot of talent for the sport and her family knew that.
It was Angelina that eventually talked Dominique into trying out for the Quidditch team - because the young Delacour-Weasley had a lot of doubts whether she should go to the try outs. Scared to fail and not being able to live out their dream of being on the team, scared to fail her aunts - to not be as good as them. I can’t go into detail about this too much because there’s a fic coming up about this particular moment, that I hope to share very soon!
Naturally Angelina was also the one that later scouted Dominique in their last year of Hogwarts. She had become the top seeker of the four house teams. Dominique’s Seeker performances were outstanding and it got quite a bit of attention from some big Quidditch teams all throughout England and France. But being able to play for the team that their aunt Ginny and Angelina played for had been her dream ever since she was young. She eventually made the transfer to one of France’s biggest Quidditch teams and eventually joined the French national team in competing in the Quidditch World Cup.
I have a lot more to say but for now I’ll just say that I think that Dominique Isabelle Delacour-Weasley is very cool.

Weasley Wednesdays
This week for Weasley Wednesdays, I am sharing a small snippet from a WIP of mine, where I am writing Hermione and Rose for the first time! I’ve shared a little from this before, but I have made progress and would like to share a little more. The working title is: slipping through my fingers, and it’s about Hermione seeing Rose off for the first day of Hogwarts.
“What are you thinking about?” Rose asked as she pulled away. “I can hear your thoughts,” she grinned, a mischievous glint in her brown eye.
Hermione stroked a thumb down her cheek. “How much I’ll miss you. Are you nervous?”
Rose looked over at Albus, who was hugging Lily Luna, and said, “no, I’m not nervous.”
It was that moment that Rose reminded Hermione of herself. There were not many moments like this, for Rose resembled so much of her father in her outer personality, where the introverted side to her was much more like her mother. But the sheer bravery that came with saying those words, Hermione was reminded that Rose was her child. That they were carved from the same stars.
“You two look out for each other, and Molly,” Hermione said. Molly was across the platform, saying goodbye to her little sister.
Rose was nodding, a smile on her lips. Until that smile dropped. “What if we don’t all end up in Gryffindor?”
Hermione raised her eyebrows. “Are you worried for Albus?”

Weasley Wednesdays
Another week, another Weasley Wednesdays. Today I’d like to share a snippet of the beginning to my new Albus and James fic. After writing my fics Walking In My Brother’s Shoes and If You Can See Me Now I really wanted to write another story in which something goes wrong and we get to read a lot of the great dynamics between Albus and James. From frustration, to humour, to the love within their brotherly bond.
This one is called Long Story Short in which James has asked Albus to help him practice for his potions exam. You would think James would know better than to do anything in the Potions classroom without his brother’s supervision if you’ve read my other two Albus and James fics, but no. James thought it’d be a great idea to start on his potion before Albus arrived - even though his little brother told him to never start before he had arrived. His great idea turns south when his brother walks into the classroom for their lesson and all of a sudden Albus is face to face with 11 year old James.
I will be adding a ‘keep reading’ function here for the people that want to read the beginning of this WIP. I hope you like it, please let me know what you think! x
Albus walks into the Potions classroom, a foul smell welcoming him. He scrunches his nose in disgust as he makes out the outlines of his brother in the green smoke coming from a cauldron in the middle of the table. Albus sighs as he walks over to his brother, ready to examine the disaster that is the potion he has brewed this time. Covering his mouth and nose with the sleeve of his sweater.
‘James?’ Albus calls out to his brother, walking around the table.
James’ face appears as he looks up at Albus. A pair of goggles on his face to protect his eyes from whatever the smoke is and a broad smile on his face. His face glowing from the heat of the potion.
‘What are you brewing, James?’ Albus asks carefully.
‘I’m practising,’ James says. ‘I know you told me always to wait for you before starting on my potions-’
‘Yes, because you came to me for help with your potions exam.’
‘-but I thought that after all the tutoring I could start on my own for once,’ James continues like Albus hadn’t interrupted him just now.
Albus raises his eyebrows before eyeing the potion from up close. ‘But you still haven’t told me what you’re brewing.’
‘It’s-’
The sound of hissing interrupts James. Both Potter brothers eye the potion with caution. James gets up from his stool, standing slightly behind Albus.
‘I’m not sure if it’s supposed to do that,’ James mumbles.
Albus looks at him, a frown on his forehead as a sigh escapes his lips. ‘Have you even read the instructions of the potion? Do you even know what the potion does?’
James rolls his eyes at his little brother and the annoyance in his voice. ‘I read the instructions as I was making the potion and-’
‘Did you read all the instructions and what the potion should be doing before you read them one by one as you started making the potion?’
James’ silence says enough and Albus sighs - trying to rack his brain for any information about ageing potions or how to neutralize a hissing potion. One thing he knew for sure, a potion is not supposed to hiss the way James’ potion does. He turns around, walking toward the cabinet filled with potion ingredients.
‘James, what did-’ but Albus’ voice is cut short when James calls his name.
He quickly walks back toward his brother, who is looking into the potion. But before Albus can ask what’s wrong or James can explain what he called his brother for, the cauldron explodes. Soaking both brothers’ clothes. Albus gags, there’s a burning sensation in his throat and the taste of burned charcoal in his mouth.
‘James, are you okay?’ he calls out for his brother.
He coughs as he’s trying to wave off some of the smoke surrounding the two of them. He reaches his hand out before grabbing hold of the fabric of James’ robe. He grabs hold of his wand, waving it slightly causing the smoke to disappear. Before he can ask his brother again if he is okay, he comes eye to eye with James. But not James.
11-year old James.
Albus is speechless, words caught in his throat as he looks at his brother. His older, but now.. younger brother?
‘You look like you’ve seen a ghost,’ James says, eyeing his brother up and down. ‘What is-’ his voice catches in his throat as he looks up at Albus. ‘Why are you suddenly taller than me?’

Weasley Wednesdays
On this Weasley Wednesdays I am sharing a short piece from the beginning of fic I’m writing that is Hermione seeing Rose off to Hogwarts for her first year. It is also based of the song “Slipping through my fingers” by ABBA.
Hermione always knew this day would come, she always knew she would see her only daughter off to Hogwarts soon enough. She just never expected that day to come so quickly. Oh, how much her little girl had grown. It was wonderful to watch, to see her blossom and bloom every single day. With a fire in her eyes, she stated she was going to be in Gryffindor, “just like my mum and dad,”. Or that sheer determination when she stated she was going to make the Quidditch team and break records in her second year, “just like my Uncle Harry,”.
Or the way she’d smile with pride when stating, “because I’m a Granger-Weasley!”
Hermione couldn’t stop the ache inside her chest as she watched Rose, schoolbag in hand, talk animatedly to Albus Severus. She had watched them both grow up together, be best friends the way she and Harry always had been. It meant more to her than she could possibly put into words to see them go off to Hogwarts together.
Yes, Hermione Granger was speechless, could you even imagine?

Weasley Wednesdays
On this fine Weasley Wednesday I would love to shed some light on the friendship between Albus Severus Weasley-Potter and Rose Granger-Weasley. Best friends ever since they were children but grown apart when they got onto their first train to Hogwarts.
I really wanted to share a fic that I have written about their friendship with all of you. It’s a bit of very shameful promotion but also me trying to find people to talk about Albus and Rose’s friendship with because they are two of my absolute favorite characters to read and write about. They are just such complex and interesting characters and there’s so much more to their friendship than Rose being “mean to Albus” and like we see in the play. The fic is called Begin Again. Press ‘Keep Reading’ for a snippet of the start of the fic.
Read it on ao3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/26900959
Rose Granger-Weasley and Albus Severus Potter used to be best friends while growing up. But ever since their years at Hogwarts started, things started to change. As did their friendship. Rose tried her best to live up to her family name, trying to live up to the expectation that had been set for her. Meanwhile Albus got caught up in time-travelling and his difficult relationship with his father. During those years they lost track of each other but this Christmas is all about the Weasley cousins getting together and, hopefully, about new beginnings.
Rose takes off her scarf and winter coat, wet from the snow falling down from the clear skies. Her nose and cheeks are red from the cold winter air as she hangs them from the end of her bed to dry. She had just returned from a winter walk with Lily, Roxanne and Molly. It had taken a lot of effort to get Roxanne to leave the warmth of the Slytherin common room. But eventually she gave in and joined them on their walk to ring in their Christmas morning. Christmas morning spent at Hogwarts.
Normally she’d be at home. Her mother would have called Hugo and her downstairs, greeting them with a wide smile and two mugs of hot chocolate and she would have kissed her mother's cheek and gratefully taken the warm mug from her. Closing her eyes as she inhaled the sweet scent of the chocolate.
But they knew Albus had been through a lot and Headmistress McGonagall had cancelled Christmas at home for him. None of the cousins knew what he had been through except for James, but knowing Albus had struggled was enough for the Weasley cousins to know he needed them right now. Even if he didn’t realise it himself or wouldn’t say that out loud. So it had been Rose’s idea for everyone to stay at Hogwarts, to stay and celebrate Christmas with Albus. Her cousins and little sibling had wholeheartedly agreed with the idea.
It had been heartbreaking to see Albus become so estranged from the family, from them, from her . But she can’t blame him - she had given him no reason to keep confiding in her. Even though they used to be best friends since they were little. She hadn’t given him the friendship he deserves, the friendship he probably needed. She-
‘Rose, are you ready for breakfast?’ Lily’s head pokes into her dorm room. ‘Freddie and James are waiting for us in the common room.’
‘Yes!’ Rose answers her. ‘Let me just get something real quickly.’
Rose reaches into her trunk, her hands folding around a neatly packed package. She takes it out, very carefully, making sure not to shake it. The corners of her mouth slightly lift as she looks at the name tag, hoping with all her heart that it would bring the receiver a bit of Christmas joy. She smiles up at Lily Luna - who answers it with a broad smile of her own.
‘You shouldn’t have!’ her little cousin says jokingly which Rose answers by rolling her eyes.
‘Let’s go eat everything that our parents wouldn’t let us have for breakfast,’ Rose says before pressing a kiss to the crown of her Lily’s head.

Weasley Wednesdays
It’s a new Wednesdays and on this fine Weasley Wednesday I want to ask all of you if you ever think of Rose Granger-Weasley being a Ravenclaw?
I’ve been in my Rose feelings for a long time now and can not stop thinking of just how well Rose actually fits into Ravenclaw so here’s a little ramble from me on that. Lorcan Lovegood would tell me that Hogwarts houses are a facade and very old fashioned. People and personalities are much too complex and complicated for them to limit them to 4 houses and therefor 4 character stereotypes. Knowing someone’s house gives you a (sometimes) false and wrong impressions about them. Naturally they are very right about that.
Mind you, this is still very much a work in progress in my mind but I’ve been thinking about how I feel Rose wouldn’t have been sorted into Gryffindor during the ceremony if it was really up to the Sorting Hat.
Like yes, her parents both came from Gryffindor, but even Hermione fit perfectly into Ravenclaw. I feel like Rose might have asked the Sorting Hat if it could sort her into Gryffindor, the house her parents were in and the house where her older cousin James was in. She had seen her family being proud of her older cousin and wanted that as well. She feels like she has to be in Gryffindor, that’s just how it’s supposed to go. She wants to make her family proud. She wants to live up to their expectations, which are usually indirectly just expectations that she sets for herself and not those of others. She may not have directly asked the Sorting Hat (I’m still working on the moment it happens in my mind), but it Knows what you think and what you want from it.
I feel like that’s also one of the reasons that Albus and Rose drift apart. They used to be the best of friends. They’d talk about all the things that they would be up to and learn when they are at Hogwarts - when they’d be sorted into Gryffindor just like their parents. The Golden Trio. Then she was sorted into Gryffindor, ignoring the questions of the Sorting Hat, asking her if she was sure about it. But then Albus got sorted into Slytherin and that was not how she imagined it going - later she knows this was very selfish of her of course. But also, afterward, she realises that it might have been envy she felt, that Albus didn’t persuade the Sorting Hat to sort him into Gryffindor. He was brave enough to let it happen, to let the Sorting Hat choose where he belongs. But Rose gave into her fear of not fitting into her family - of not fitting into the image that she had planned out all of her childhood years.
So in conclusion I do think Rose would have been sorted into Ravenclaw - if it had not been for her asking the Sorting Hat to (maybe indirectly) sort her into Gryffindor. That doesn’t take away from her bravery, her courage and her nerve because she is full of that and we see that in her a lot. I could go on and on about my views on Rose as a character but I will spare you now. But, for me, this happening explains a lot of her behaviour that we see in the play but also in my version of her, when writing her. It just Makes Sense. I get not everyone’s interested in this but I just wanted to share this with all of you.
Also I really love Rose Granger-Weasley as a character.

Weasley Wednesdays
For this week I’m going to be sharing a snippet from one of my fics called Through The Pages. It was one that I am probably most proud of, I really enjoyed writing it even though I had a few doubts during the writing process and after posting, but I still love it to this day.
Summary:  Albus and Scorpius are volunteering to read books to children stuck in St Mungos, but during their first reading session, one of the children gets a hold of Scorpius’ wand and Albus winds up in a bit of a sticky situation involving a lion, a tin man, a scarecrow and a girl named Dorothy.
I have put the snippet after the ‘keep reading’ feature. The snippet includes one of my favourite scenes with my favourite red-haired Weasley, Molly Junior! She is a character I’ve been enjoying writing a lot and one I would love to get more into writing when I have the chance!
Scorpius looked around the desk, searching for the book. When he never found it, his heart dropped to his stomach. He moved the books around frantically, Molly asking him what was wrong but he didn’t have time to answer her. Coming up empty on the desk, Scorpius then checked his school bag.
“Where is it?” he muttered to himself, rummaging through hoping that it would just magically pop up.
“Where’s what?” Molly asked.
“The book, the book that Albus is stuck in, it’s not here.”
“Well,” Molly said, getting up from her chair. “Let’s not panic just yet, when do you last remember having it?”
“I don’t know, I thought I put it in my bag, it should be here,” he said as one by one he pulled out all the items from his bag and threw them carelessly onto the table. Molly was talking to him but Scorpius was barely listening to a word she was saying. Then it hit him. “The library, I must have left it in the library. I must have put it back with my other books, I’m such an idiot!” he scolded himself, throwing his bag onto the chair and making a beeline for the door.
“Wait, wait, Scorpius!” Molly called, grabbing him by his arm. “It’s past curfew, the library is closed.”
He resisted the urge to scream out and turned to Molly. “I need to go get him.”
Molly grinned, her eyes glinting mischievously. “Scorpius Malfoy, are you ready to be a rebel for the first time in your life?” she asked.
Scorpius grimaced. “Second time, actually, and as I recall it didn’t go too well the first time.” Molly just continued to grin at him. Scorpius dropped his stance. “How are we going to sneak into the library after curfew without James’ invisibility cloak.”
“Wait here,” Molly said and took off in a run to her dorm. She returned two minutes later holding a piece of parchment. “With this.”
“Is that what I think it is?”
“The Marauders Map, yes.” Scorpius was just about to ask how Molly had it when she started explaining. “Uncle Harry gifted this to Teddy when he started school, who gave it James after he graduated. James gave it to Freddie when he got the cloak, who gave it to Roxanne last week as a present as he’s graduating in a couple of months, and Roxanne just happened to accidentally leave it on the table when we were having dinner together yesterday. I was going to give it back to her but I completely forgot about it and well, I guess we could use it, right?”
Scorpius stared her sceptically. “I don’t know if we should.”
“Don’t you trust me?” she asked.
“Dad always told me never to trust a Weasley,” he responded with a hint of unease in his voice.
“Your dad would be right there, let’s go.”

Weasley Wednesdays
So, @sophiaameliebarclay started a new trend called Weasley Wednesdays which is all about the Weasleys and sharing headcanons and snippets! With so many Weasley generations, I think it’s nice to have a day just for them, so thank you for starting this!
This #WeasleyWednesday, I am sharing a snippet I wrote about Louis and Freddie Weasley which is based on a headcanon of mine that together they create the Hogwarts Drama Club!
Louis put their arm around Freddie, smiling proudly. “I can’t believe we’re about to do this,” they said, overwhelmed and slightly impressed that they both managed to pull this off. For the first time since before the war, Louis and Freddie were going to put on a live performance of a famous Wizarding play.
“I admit,” Freddie said, pulling away to get closer to the stage where the show would be performed, “I knew we were brilliant, but this brilliant….” he trailed off and turned to face Louis. “I’m proud of us.”
“Us? Fred, this was your idea, I just helped,” Louis said, modestly. Louis was about the only person who Freddie tolerated calling him “Fred,”. Though, Louis tried not to do it often, knowing their cousin wasn’t a fan of his given name. Not that he wasn’t happy to share the name of his dad’s brother, Freddie just wished he didn’t have to honour it. Fred Weasley was a legend, and as much as Freddie admired him and loved him, he simply wished he didn’t have to have the portraits tell him how much he’ll never be like his Uncle.
“I guess I can take some credit,” he smirked. Louis watched as Freddie dramatically jumped onto the stage and dropped down to one knee. “It were a grief so brief to part with thee. Farewell.” Freddie dropped to the floor, splayed out like a starfish.
Louis scrunched their nose. “Is that Romeo and Juliet?”
Freddie sat. “Roxy’s favourite,” he explained, before dropping back quickly, pretending he never broke character at all.
“You do have a flair for the dramatic, don’t you, Freddie Weasley?

Weasley Wednesdays
Hello! It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another Weasley Wednesdays! For this week, due to my lack of writing ability and my love for this fic and the Weasley cousins, I’m here to do a shameful self-promo.
This here is a snippet from Chapter 3 of my fanfiction: Room On The Third Floor, which is a scene with all the Weasley cousins who show up in support of Scorpius (and Albus) and remind Albus what family is all about. Enjoy :) It’s long, so I do apologise for that!
##
“Guys? Everything all right?” Lily’s voice sounded from the other side of the door. They jumped apart and shared an exasperated look before Scorpius unlocked the door and opened it with his wand. The moment had disappeared, and Albus couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed.
His overbearing family and Jenny piled into the classroom. It seemed more of Albus’ cousins had showed up. Domi, Louis, Freddie, Hugo and little Lucy had popped up from somewhere. It seemed only Roxanne and Rose were missing and- nope, there they were. Albus didn’t realise he’d signed up for a family meeting.
“Fine,” Scorpius spoke, but his voice was strained.
“That was rough, Scorp,” James said, walking over and placing a hand on Scorpius’ shoulder. He had clearly witnessed it.
“Yeah, Fletcher is a douche,” Molly chipped in helpfully, jumping onto a desk.
“What happened?” Hugo asked.
“Fletcher Adams refused to make Scorpius Slytherin seeker purely because of who he is, which is not only extremely discriminating but also just plain mean. Scorpius, I’ve literally known you for five days, but you’re the nicest person I’ve ever met and deserve to be treated better than that,” Jenny said, making her way through the mass of Weasley-Potters to stand next to Scorpius. She pulled him in for a hug, and Albus saw him tense slightly before he settled into it.
“Thanks, Jen,” he smiled, though Albus could tell it was forced.
“So, what’re we going to do?” Louis asked, a grin on his face that mirrored Freddie’s.
“Yeah, are we going to get him back?” Freddie asked, and Albus could swear that if you looked close enough, you could see the ideas swirling through his brain.
“No,” Scorpius cut them off and they both deflated. “You guys are amazing, but I’m not going to do anything to him.”
“Why not?” Lily asked. She had a bone for pranks too.
“Because it’s not me. Look, I wanted to join Quidditch because I wanted people to look at me and see Scorpius. Not a Death-Eater’s son or the boy who fucked up the world by trying to change time,” at that, Albus reached out and squeezed his hand. “Obviously, even Quidditch can’t do that for me. So, I’m going to do something different. I’m going to find a different way, my way, to show people I’m not a monster. To show them that I’m only a Malfoy by name but not by personality.”
The fire in his eyes had returned, but this time it wasn’t anger. No, it was determination. Albus had no idea what he was cooking up in that brain of his, but if he knew Scorpius, then it would be brilliant.
“So, then what are you going to do?” Hugo asked, and the Weasley-Potters looked among themselves when Scorpius shrugged. Albus watched as his mind faded away, letting him get lost in his thoughts for a moment.
He looked to his family, who were all looking at him with such intensity it was heart-warming. It had only just occurred to him that they hadn’t come here because it was Albus that was being discriminated against, but because it was Scorpius. That day Scorpius came over the summer, he was welcomed into the family with open arms. Albus smiled knowing his family were still looking out for him. They were willing to risk detention because of some prick who somehow made Quidditch captain. They were treating him like one of their own without Albus asking them to.
He looked among them. To James, Freddie and Louis who looked ready for a fight if that what Scorpius asked for. To Domi, Molly and Lucy who were ready with their arms open if Scorpius requested a hug. To Rose and Roxy, who had a fire in their eyes not unlike Lilys, ready to hex if needed. To Hugo, who looked at Scorpius with a proud smile, and he knew he would be proud no matter what came out of Scorpius’ mouth next.
Albus felt a swell of love for his family in his heart and thanked every star he could imagine for their existence. Twenty years ago, the Weasley’s would never have dreamed of being in the same room as a Malfoy and ready to defend his honour. As a family, they had overlooked the prejudices’ of the past that even their parents suffered through, and openly accepted Scorpius. If the Weasley-Potters could achieve that in one day over summer break, then why couldn’t the rest of the world get on board just as easily?
Scorpius snapped from his reverie and gave Albus a proud smile.
“So…?” Rose prompted, clearly noting Scorpius’ breakthrough.
“I’m going to change the world, one lonely nerd at a time,” he spoke proudly, a grin of pure elation on his lips. No one had any idea what it meant, but for the second time that day, Scorpius was out the room in a rush of black and green robes.

Snippet from WIPs I started but never finished
This little snippet is one I started back when Folklore came out... oops. It’s loosely based off Invisible String and it’s working title is: invisible string or purple pink sky :)
The first time he saw him he was fourteen on the beach by his Grandparent’s cottage. Gold was the colour of sand, illuminated brilliantly by the radiant sun blaring upon the shores. His hair was whiter than the paper Albus was drawing on, but what caught his eye was the beautiful shade of silver in his eyes.
He caught Albus’ eye when he ran over, water dripping from the ends of his platinum hair. He was blocking the sun from Albus’ eyes, making him glow like an angel sent from above. And he smiled a beautiful smile that could brighten the entire world in a blackout and picked up the football that had rolled by Albus’ feet that he hadn’t even noticed.
“Sorry,” he muttered. “Dad has two left feet,” he looked back at two people, both whom looked far too young to be his parents, but Albus had no choice but to assume otherwise. “Nice drawing,” he complimented, turning on his heels and running back to the man and woman waiting for him. Albus remembered thinking, he looks just like his dad.
Then he turned back to his sketchbook and drew those eyes and that smile from memory.
When he returned to his Grandparent’s cottage he told them nothing exciting had happened. Albus had dreamed of finding love on that beach, and he believed the boy with the silver eyes could be that love, but he let him walk away.

I thought maybe I'd share a little snippet, in honour of finishing the first chapter of 'only child of the universe' :)
People.
They were out there. Surely, they were out there. He just had to find them, had to find a new society and start fresh.
But his heart panged.
Here, in the middle of a torn-down store, Albus had never felt so lost. Lost from the world that he knew, lost from the people he loved. He was lost, lost, lost, lost, lost. He was lost and lonely. Not alone, not anymore. But lonely. He missed his mum and dad and the way they would hold him when he was sad or angry. He missed his brother and how he would tease him but fight for him in the same breath. He missed his little sister who would brighten his day with just a smile. Then there were his cousins, all bright and beautiful all in their own way, all so tough and intelligent and brave.
“Albus?” a voice came, interrupting his grief.

Scorpius: I know, I can be a handful.
Albus: Well, it's a good job I have two hands then.
