Celebrating top tips for sunset ceremonies. This is La Herradura on the Costa Tropical. These perfect sunsets happen regularly in this one little bay between November and January. In fact the sunsets are so consistently breathtaking that FB friends get fed up of me posting images!... then as the sun sets in a different location so the colours become less vivid, more subtle, until eventually the sun sets on the other side of the headland. It is not the same all year my lovelies! You want a sunset ceremony? Celebrating family. Back in the UK, all rugged up against the weather. We have driven through floods and closed roads to get to a family meal. I've seen my granddaughter meet Father Christmas for the first time (teary me). I've cooched up on the sofa between my two gorgeous sons. I've had lots of cuddles and read nighttime stories to my grandchildren. And today we go to stay with my parents to be totally spoiled on Christmas Day with a traditional turkey and all the trimmings. All the time loved and supported by my gorgeous man. Celebrating living by the sea. I love walking to a beach chiringito and ordering a locally caught barbequed fish. The sea here is clean, the marine life is varied and plentiful. At times the water boils with sardines, there are large pods of dolphins, the and the delicate eco system is protected by natural park status. Playa Patrol volunteers ensure the beaches are also free from plastic and cigarette butts. I've only ever missed one collection and that's because I had a ceremony. Celebrating wedding cash! Many couples have already set up home before they get married. They don't need a wedding present as such. So why not offer those guests who would like to gift you something, the opportunity to give you some cash? Have some envelopes ready and a way of collecting it during your wedding celebrations. This wedding post box in the photo is perfect. Your wedding money can go towards whatever you choose... your honeymoon, your ceremony costs or even a charity donation as happened at the ceremony in the photo. Here in Spain, local tradition is to pay your own way at a wedding reception plus a bit extra for the couple. Envelopes are circulated, guests pop their money inside and then queue up to present it to the lucky couple. With guest numbers often going into many hundreds, some couples make a healthy profit... enough to put a deposit on a house in some cases! The downside being some invited guests cannot afford to go to the wedding, so send one person to represent an entire family, or don't go at all. On balance, I think I prefer the optional charity donation idea. Celebrating what goes around, comes around. I rarely post personal photos on my business page. But my grown up children have birthdays two days apart this weekend so it's a time to celebrate 😍🥰😘 Parental love is unconditional. The love we give our animals is unconditional. The love we give in our relationships should be unconditional too. Love is an intense personal investment that leaves you vulnerable as whatever you invest, you risk losing. But the love you invest can also pay priceless dividends. Love and loss. The ultimate gamble. But "'tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all"- Alfred Lord Tennyson. Invest every possible moment in enjoying the people who are closest to you. And in the event of separation or loss, the memory of love shared will always remain. So today I am celebrating karma - what goes around, comes around. In my professional life as a Celebrant I invest a lot of time, energy and emotion in my couples and clients - a lot! I get enormous personal gratification from helping people, but I also know that someday, somewhere they may post a beautiful review, a personal recommendation, or a magical photo that they allow me to share. Being a Celebrant certainly is a vocation but for me it's also the gift that keeps on giving.
