Anyone think it's really sweet how Wendell and Wild got all dressed up to meet their Hell maiden. Like, they got themselves all fancy and gave themselves a full shave and a haircut.
raul is so funny because he is DEFINITELY that type of character that just wishes his life were normal but the plot chose him at a raffle so he keeps being put into Situations
wendall & wild was genuinely so good. the characters were amazing, the stop-motion animation, the music, the diversity - it was great. i just wish netflix promoted it more
The undercover representation of Black daughters who get their love for rock and roll and alternative music from their Black daddy was welcomed from Wendall and Wild. 😌😌😌
In all my years, I've never seen a movie use non-christian pre-colonial religious imagery as a force of good against evil.
And the fact that in Wendall & Wild - a movie that takes place in a Catholic school, this type of imagery is portrayed as SO much more beautiful and powerful than the drab dreary Catholic imagery of the film... it was fuckin' rad as hell.
No cause I haven’t stopped thinking about Raúl from Wendall and Wild. How dare you have an artistic brown transmasc teen who loves his mom and comes out while in an all-girls religious institution in a movie. How dare I be seen.
Wendell and Wild is really good but it’s also insane because it’s already almost 3 hours long but the whole thing is at a BREAKNECK PACE with no slow or tone-setting moments, there are multiple backstories set up that sound like they’re leading to a flashback or further elaboration — very little is ever elaborated on, because there’s just so MUCH in the movie that a lot has to rely on implication or base explanation — I wouldn’t call it a confusing movie at all but it’s such an interesting circumstance it really does feel like something that was meant to be or planned to be a mini series rather than a movie
Hell the majority of this movie takes place at or around a catholic school, the kids are all catholic school students, there are nuns and priests rounding out the cast, and at the end of the movie Catholicism is irrefutably disproven before EVERYONE and there are no ramifications (maybe an exec or editor thought it was too weird for a family movie to like. Portray a community having their real-world-religion disproven
Like to comfort Kat about losing her parents Wendell and Wild show the cast the model of the amusement park — essentially purgatory if not THE afterlife
