NOW PLEASE GARY AS A WEREWOLF TO FINISH THE TRIO🥺
Love to see werewolf Gary stuff-
Didn’t know he was a werewolf until he was 13
First time he turned on a full moon he almost killed Pete
Can’t wear sliver anymore and forces Jimmy and Pete not to have not on them at all times
You know how puppies have a lil playful bite? Yeah he does that
He likes to bite Petey’s arm at random times
Jimmy’s reflexes are fast enough that he can’t bite him but Jimmy normally lets him chew on his arm
Skips school on a day of the full Moon and the day after
This leads to rumors of him being a werewolf but only couple of people ACTUALLY believe it while the others just think it’s silly fun
Eats a lot of meat now
Tried to convince Edna to give him raw meat once
And she straight up did-
Jimmy gets him a lot of dog/wolf themed stuff after he learns about it
Jimmy found out by finding Gary mid transformation on a full moon
Afterwards Gary officially told him cause Jimmy had already seen-
Pete’s been in the know as Gary was 13 and helps him try to hide it

Further speculation on Shen Yuan transmigrating in some kind of Beast:
Werewolf Shen Qingqiu.
And like, major emphasis on the wolf, in his case. Not wolfman. Every full moon Shen Qingqiu has to make arrangements for himself to turn into a gigantic silvery-white wolf that retains extremely little of his consciousness, and mostly just seems to want to do Wolf Things, though according to PIDW and all information he has on the matter, he ought to be turning into a violent and bloodthirsty predator.
However, it turns out that the wolf form does retain some awareness from the mind/soul of the human, meaning that the reason SJ's wolf was so incredibly unsafe to be around was because it was constantly trying to process SJ's trauma in wild animal terms. So, it was hostile towards the vast majority of humans and in a heightened state of anxiety, always anticipating violence (and reacting accordingly) whenever something unexpected happened. Matters were not helped by SJ's decision to try and lock himself up for every transformation, which of course freaked his wolf out even more (trapped) and resulted in self-harm as it desperately tried to escape. It was just that SJ interpreted the self-harm as a sign that the wolf was so extremely violent that it would cannibalize itself rather than go a single night without the taste of blood.
SY, who is a lot less traumatized, conversely has a much more calm and curious wolf. Like he's extremely cautious and nervous about the whole thing, because he's expecting it to be violent based on his information, and since he doesn't retain much awareness of his transformations he has little idea of what his wolf-self does. But he also isn't great at locking himself up like the original goods did, and he never really seems to wake up covered in blood or anything? Once or twice he thinks he might have hunted a rabbit, but they definitely were rabbits and not like his subconscious somehow going after children in the middle of a wilderness somewhere, because when he came to the wolf had brought the leftover bunny bits along back to the ruined temple he was supposed to be shutting himself up into.
The new Shen Qingqiu consequently gets a bit complacent about the whole thing. He can only blame himself. Maybe he should have anticipated Luo Binghe, with his boundless curiosity and interest in his shizun, would notice the oddities in his schedule and follow him out one night. Everyone's supposed to believe that he's just going to brothels and engaging in purely mundane debauchery, though, so why would Binghe doubt his story?
But he did, and so of course Luo Binghe ends up witnessing his shizun's terrible transformation into a wretched and hated beast. Stunned, the young disciple stands transfixed (no doubt in horror) in the moonlight. The wolf sees him, and though Shen Qingqiu doesn't retain much memory, he recollects the running, the leaping, the... uh... licking...?
Well. Turns out that even Shen Qingqiu's subconscious wolf mind recognizes Luo Binghe as pack, and thank goodness too, because at least he didn't attack him!
Although after that it becomes an extreme challenge to explain to Luo Binghe why he can't accompany Shen Qingqiu for his transformations every month. It's not safe, the wolf is unpredictable and Shen Qingqiu can't promise that he won't startle or suddenly change his tune and lash out, and even though Binghe's cultivation is progressing in leaps and bounds, the wolf also isn't limited to normal mortal strength. It would be able to track his scent and follow him relentlessly, chasing him down to catch and pin him beneath its massive paws, and... Binghe why is your face so red? Are you feeling alright? If it's too frightening, then let's not describe it any further, but the point is that it's dangerous.
Shen Qingqiu has to put his foot down. In the end, he has his suspicions that Binghe is still circumventing him, as he could swear he sometimes remembers running around the wilderness with company. (Binghe is absolutely sneaking out to go spend time with Wolf Shizun.) But there's nothing concrete enough to be certain. Meanwhile, Luo Binghe has at least agreed to keep it secret (for now -- probably not once the time comes for Shen Qingqiu to be put on trial) and fusses over his shizun, helping him keep track of the moon scheduling and always making sure he has a full belly before he goes into wilderness seclusion (Shen Qingqiu never says, but somehow Luo Binghe guesses anyway that he doesn't like waking up to find that the wolf had a snack during the night...)
Another hazard: lycanthropy in the PIDW setting is a curse. Like admittedly it's kind of a kickass one, but it still has tons of negative associations, most commonly befalling impoverished individuals or travelers who get bitten by wild wolf demons, and survive only to find that a piece of the wolf's spirit has gotten stuck to their own. Cultivators with lycanthropy are often associated with demons and disrepute, like Wu Yanzi, and there are countless tales of them turning on their own people or being revealed as violent, depraved criminals. It's only slightly more acceptable than being a demon outright.
In other words it's not a desirable circumstance.
And yet, for some reason, Luo Binghe is reprehensibly lapse in his protections against lycanthropy. Shen Qingqiu has told him all of the precautions he knows against it, and yet it's almost like Binghe keeps doing the exact opposite things! Listen, wolves are cool. Shen Qingqiu knows that. He's actually kind of fine with turning into one, since it seems to be less of a ravenous beast situation than he'd feared. But there are still social consequences to this kind of a thing! Luckily, it doesn't actually matter much because even with his uncharacteristic youthful irresponsibility, Binghe's heavenly demon blood protects him from ever being cursed. The only way he'd get lycanthropy would be if he deliberately let a werewolf bite him and then just refused to excise the curse, and even then, he could purge the tainted wolf spirit from him just by force of will whenever he wanted.
Seriously, though! It's only when Shen Qingqiu points out that Luo Binghe is going to make people suspicious with all his negligence towards basic precautions that Binghe finally smartens up about it.
(Luo Binghe, out in the woods during a full moon: Wolf Shizun please bite me? Bite Binghe? Then we can be together every full moon! Look here I'll stick my hand in your mouth... just, just chomp down... no don't lick... *sigh*...)
Anyway, the plot still goes mostly the same, except that when Shen Qingqiu put into the water prison it's the full moon. He expects this is part of Luo Binghe's plan against him -- Binghe probably couldn't reveal the lycanthropy without also admitting he'd known before and helped hide it, but this way, Shen Qingqiu can just get caught as a wolf by the palace guards. But Luo Binghe's just been so frazzled and distressed by everything that he genuinely forgot what phase the moon was on. Shen Qingqiu's expecting a lot of things when he wakes up after transforming in the Water Prison, but being back out of the Water Prison and snuggled up to the protagonist's chest wasn't on the list.
Turns out that after his confrontation with Luo Binghe and the Little Palace Mistress, Gongyi Xiao went to check on him and found him transformed. After Gongyi Xiao alerted the rest of the palace, the Palace Master determined that Shen Qingqiu being a werewolf was as good as a confirmation of guilt, and had the wolf dragged out to be killed. Luo Binghe intervened, Shen Qingqiu took off, and between one thing and another the whole night was spent with Huan Hua and Cang Qiong cultivators trying to catch him (for different reasons).
Of course it was Luo Binghe who eventually cornered the terrified wolf, at which point the wolf actually, finally did bite him. But when Binghe failed to react, it whimpered and went back to its usual behavior, and let Binghe lead it out of the city and off to its usual territory near Cang Qiong. The wolf then proceeded to act like an overjoyed puppy whose owner had finally come back from war, until Binghe broke down and sobbed himself to sleep. It must have curled up onto his chest afterwards.
Shen Qingqiu is deeply embarrassed, but... somehow Luo Binghe doesn't seem to be taking revenge on him?
He's going to need to treat that bite wound soon, though.
Binghe.
Binghe, you are going to treat that--

Monster au (no content warning. Gn reader, use of y/n, reader is a medium)
The two of them always show up late in the evening, far after the sun has set. It's easy to clock which one of them is a vampire, especially since you've never really seen him eat anything. He'll order something, sure. But the food always gets packed away in a to-go box that Johnny takes.
You learn through Johnny that the other man's name is Simon. Oddly normal name for a vampire, you think. But maybe he hasn't been around long. You don't bother asking, it seems rude too.
But that's the routine. Johnny and Simon come in late, sit in your section, and have dinner. Sometimes you take your break with them. It doesn't feel like you're forcing yourself into their little group. Hell, Johnny's your roommate. But sometimes, the way Simon stares at you makes butterflies erupt in your tummy and heats your cheeks.
You're pleasantly surprised when Simon comes in with someone else tonight. It's not a complete shock; Johnny's preoccupied with the full moon. But you've never seen them come in with anyone else, and you've certainly never seen this man before.
You head over to his table with a smile, already pulling your pen out of your apron pocket. “Hey, Si. You're here early,” you comment. A technical truth. The sun had set only thirty minutes ago; the sky still aglow with the remains of the day.
“Soap said you don't work late tonight,” he replies.
Another truth. One of the new girls took your typical shift, meaning you'd have been long gone by the time Simon normally comes in.
“Couldn't lose your favorite server,” you joke, noting the way his eyes crinkle, a sign he's smiling under his medical mask.
You turn to his friend, an apologetic smile on your face. “Where are my manners? I'm Y/N. I'll be your server tonight.”
Both men stare at you, different looks on their faces. Simon's eyebrows are furrowed together, confusion dancing across his eyes. The other man, dark hair and even darker eyes, stares at you in shock, mouth agape.
“Love, who are you talking to?” Simon asks carefully, his honeyed eyes darting between you and the other man.
“Your friend,” you answer, reality already settling heavy in your chest. You've gotten pretty good at telling the difference between the living and the dead, and haven't had a slip up in awhile. Only to ruin it all in front of the man you've been trying to impress.
“I, uh, I mean… let me get you some water,” you awkwardly fumble out, turning and practically running away.
You fumble around in the kitchen for fifteen minutes, hoping maybe he'll just leave. But that's the thing with the undead: they've got endless patience. Simon's practically glaring holes into the other side of the booth, as you return with a glass of ice water.
“Sit.”
It's not a question, and you know better than to argue. The other man scoots over, and you sit beside him. Subconsciously, you wrap your hands around the glass of the cup, the cold grounding you to the present situation.
The man moves his hand slowly, mouthing something as he does. It takes you a second to realize that he’s using sign language, that either he didn’t speak during life or his death removed the ability to. You don’t ask, just appreciate that he’s signing slowly so you can keep up.
“Your nickname was Roach?” you ask, outloud, missing the way Simon’s posture changes at the statement.
The man explains that his name is Gary, but Simon knows him as Roach. They were in the military together, before Simon got turned. This is news to you, as you had only gathered bits and pieces of Simon’s life from the things Johnny and him had dropped during casual conversation. Which, in all honesty, wasn’t a lot of information.
Finally, you turn to look at Simon, who stares like he’s seen a ghost (pun not intended). He stares intensely at the spot where Gary sits, like if he stares hard enough he’ll be able to see him. After a moment, he turns his dark eyes on you, frowning.
“So, you can see the dead?” he asks.
“I prefer the term medium, but yes, I can see the dead,” you agree. “Can hear them too, sometimes. It depends on the spirit.”
Simon sighs, leaning back in the booth. He pinches the bridge of his nose, trying not to go off on you. For a man, literally and metaphorically, surrounded by the ghosts of his past, he’s equally impressed as he is pissed that you didn’t say anything sooner. But, for now, he needs to know what Roach wants. The man deserves peace, after everything they went through together.
“Okay, so what does he want?”
“What?”
“Sanderson. What does he want?”
Now, it’s your turn to stare in confusion, eyebrows furrowed together. “What do you mean?”
Simon grumbles under his breath for a moment. “Don’t ghosts usually linger when they’ve got unfinished business, or whatever? So, if he’s still hanging around, then what’s the issue? Why hasn’t he passed on yet?”
“Oh, uh…” you reply, glancing over at Gary, who shrugs in response.
You learned pretty early on that, in some cases, the deceased just can’t move on. Sometimes it’s because they need help moving on, a burial in the wrong spot, missing important items, ect. Tangible things that they have no power in controlling. But, sometimes, it’s because they’re stuck in eternal limbo, better known as purgatory, condemned to wander the earth forever. But you’ve got a feeling that telling Simon this isn’t going to end well, so you keep it to yourself for now.
“He, uh, he doesn’t know,” you tell Simon, who looks like he might blow a gasket.

ooo and 5 please! who's saying fuck no about what??
This waaaas a werewolf oneshot I was playing with, separate from Hungry. It features a transmasc Gareth, protective Eddie and Steve, and a personal favorite, Secret Berserker Jonathan Byers.
This was another oneshot that is made entirely of various scenes, so I wrote a quick introduction here to it. It wouldn't make a lick of sense otherwise lol.
(Similar to Hungry, we're playing with dominant/submissive werewolves. Think Patricia Briggs and Ilona Andrews & how they run their werewolf stories based on super outdated but very fun concepts of real wolf packs lol. I have my own little modern twist on them, but there's a difference between a social work/school friend group "pack" and a Wolf Pack TM. )
Snippet
Hellfire won't be out for another few minutes, but neither Steve or Jonathan talk much as they wait.
It's a peaceful kind of silence they share, particularly between two people who aren't friends, but ended up as family anyway.
Which is why both startle hard when the doors to the school slam open.
One of Munson's wolves storms out, looking over his shoulder instead of ahead. "What part of fuck no don't you get!?"
"Come on." Wheedles another voice, and Steve and Jonathan both watch as a sandy haired boy in a letterman jacket pursues the first.
Slowly, casually, and with the air of a predator.
"Don't fight it so hard, baby!" The harassing party coos, in a smug mimic of Danny Zuko.
"Do not call me that." Munson's wolf--Steve can't recall his name but he thinks it starts with a G-- whirls around.
The guy seems to be made of both fury and anxiety, backing away even as he spits and snarls--though his actual emotions are hard to get a read on given he's drenched himself in scent-neutralizing cologne.
(Steve almost sneezes when he scents it, but manages to keep himself together.)
The Hellfire kid's putting up a fight, but its clear from the way he holds himself that he’s a more submissive wolf--and a bad match to the dominate one chasing him.
Jonathan tosses a glance at Steve.
"I'll call you whatever I like." His pursuer tells him, a smile unfurling on his face. "Especially after I make you my bitch."
Steve shoves off the car the same time Jonathan does, but he ends up being the first to the scene, surging forward to step in-between the two.
Hardened battle buddy he is, Jonathan takes this as his cue to fall in behind him, sticking near Munson's wolf.
"Andy." Steve identifies, voice cold. "What the hell do you think you're doing?"
"Harrington?" Andy replies, thrown off his target and showing it. "What are you doing here?"
"Putting you in your place, apparently."
Andy's head snaps back, eyes narrowing in mounting rage.
"Excuse me?"
Steve cocks his hip, hands on his hips.
"Not until you swear off hunting down submissive wolves, you fucking walnut."
"That isn't what this is, Harrington. Mind your business."
He makes to go around Steve, and finds the older wolf won't let him.
"I told you to back off." And the voice Steve speaks with then, is different.
Weighted.
Steve's wolf is the dominant party here, and he's making Andy feel it.
Andy growls at him, an inhuman sound, eyes darting from Steve, to Jonathan and back.
He's outgunned and he knows it.
Tension grips them all as Andy meets Steve's eyes in challenge, before clearly thinking better of it.
He drops his head, stepping back.
"Fine. But I'm not giving up, Grace. We're doing this, sooner or later."
"My name is Gareth." Munson’s wolf snaps, and Steve knows Jonathan will hold him back if he tries to escalate things,
Submissive has never meant unable to fight, after all.
Steve keeps an eye on Andy as he retreats another step, and it's all too clear he wants a parting shot.
"Now we both know that's not true." He says, and Gareth hisses like a kettle, fury emitting off him in choked waves.
Steve clears his throat in warning--he's done playing here, and no matter how much he hates fighting, his wolf has no such qualms.
Andy's eyes dart to him once more, before he whirls around on a heel and storms back through the school doors.
Right in time to plow through the rest of Hellfire.
"Get out of my way, freaks." Andy spits, shoving his way through.
Will yelps in surprise, caught off guard and off balance, falling back into the lockers with a crash.
His head smashes against metal and he slumps for a moment, stunned.
Mike and Dustin both turn to shout at Andy, Lucas slotting himself to Will's side and trying to get a look at his head.
Behind Steve, Jonathan's eyes go dark.
Munson and Gareth both choke as power floods the parking lot, bloodlust pouring off the elder Byers in waves.
He knifes forward, past Steve, hands blurring in a slurry of shifting muscles and bone until his fingers elongate into sharp, wicked claws.
It's a controlled change, a feat very few can accomplish--and a deadly one, given Jonathan's reacting out of instinct than anything else.
"Jon." Steve calls, power ringing out from his voice.
(Can see, from the corner of his eye how even Munson, the second most dominant wolf present, flinches from it in surprise.
Steve isn't. He might be a trash fighter, too worried about preventing injuries to inflict them, but his wolf doesn't share the same sentiments.
It's not a disconnect. Rather, it's an agreement he has, with his wolf half, and it serves them very well.)
Jonathan freezes, and it's immediately clear by how tense his muscles are that he's not doing it on his own.
That Steve's using his position in the Pack to hold him, magic and Pack bonds pulsing between the two.
"Steve." Jonathan warns, all too calmly.
Steve's wolf doesn't rise to the challenge. Doesn't consider it a challenge, even if most wolves would.
Amber pours into Steve's pupils, the mark of the two halves of a werewolf blending themselves together.
Just as Jonathan did.
"Check on the kids." Steve and his wolf say together.
Jonathan's face twist in a snarl as his body shudders under the command.
"Fine." He says after a beat, and Steve's Pack magic releases its hold.
Jonathan's hands twist again, bloodlust fading from his scent, frantic energy draining from the air like a hole punched into an inflatable pool.
"I'm fine." Will calls out to him, and Steve eases himself back into his own natural state, the threat of Jonathan murdering Andy neutralized.
He turns to check back in on Gareth, and finds the younger wolf has pressed his face hard into Munson's shoulder.
"He okay?" Steve asks.
It's redundant because of course Gareth’s not okay--but that's not the question he's really asking.
What he's asking, is if Eddie has Gareth.
Steve has never quite been sure of Munson’s pack status--he knows some clubs and friendships are closer than others, and many can act similar to how Steve’s own capital P Pack does.
Knows through the kids that Munson runs his group more similar to a proper pack than your normal little high school friend group.
That does not mean Gareth will get the care he needs right now, hunted down like he had been.
"Yeah." Eddie says, understanding relayed in a nod. He turns his gaze to the right of Steve's face, the polite thing to do when two dominant wolves to interact. "Harrington, we need to talk."
It's in a tone that'd normally have Steve's hackles up, but given what's happened, Steve soothes down his wolf.
Follows when Eddie gently pulls away from Gareth, handing him over to a teen Steve is pretty sure is named Jeff before edging Steve away from the crowd.
"Can you tell me what Andy said to him?" Munson asks, and his tone is odd.
Off slightly, like he's trying hard to be extra careful.
Steve chooses not to read into it.
"He called him names. Bitch and baby. Said Gareth shouldn't fight him so hard."
Eddie stares at him then, eyes burning into Steve's own, and Steve's wolf itches under his skin at the audacity of it.
"Anything else?" Eddie demands.
"He said he wasn't hunting, that it wasn't what it was."
Munson frowns. "No, did he call Gareth anything else?"
Steve's dropped the polite urge to keep his eyes averted, now staring dead into Munson's eyes, unable to ignore the direct challenge offered in it.
"He called him Grace, but I figured that was just another insult."
Steve’s voice is clipped. He’s not eager for a fight, particularly not against the guy the kids won’t shut up about, but his wolf is already closer to the surface than it usually is.
Munson stares at him for a moment longer.
"Think you and Johnny boy over there can keep that last bit to yourselves?"
It's too much like a command, a threat of force in Eddie's voice that's backed by hints of his own wolf shoving forward.
The Steve of old would have been downright violent when faced with that.
The Steve of now, the one who'd gone three rounds with the Upside Down; who sat drugged out of his mind in a bathroom while Robin confessed to liking Tammy Thompson and then looked at him like he might kill her for it, keeps himself in place as he looks Munson over.
He’s not imaging it, there is a challenge there--but Steve pauses to think about what he’s being challenged over before he responds.
How Munson isn't so much focused on Andy, as he is on the name he'd called Gareth.
His eyes flick over to find the younger wolf staring right at them.
The guy’s arms are wrapped tightly around the middle, a poorly hidden tremble rolling through his body.
Steve hadn't taken Andy's words at face value but Eddie’s request reframed things in his head, and he’s silent as he works out why, exactly Gareth's name matters so much.
No wonder the kid had drowned himself in that awful, scent neutralizing cologne.
"Yeah. I'll make that happen." Steve agrees, his words heavy with promise.
"Thanks." Eddie inclines his head.
