He Who is above, and below.
Who comes forth from the horizon to create the heavens themselves,
Whose beauty fills the Earth at our feet.
The stars come from You,
the Blessed Dead shine forth.
Heritage of the land, Ruler of the two horizons,
Bless my comings and my goings
from each first light to the final journey West.
Ground me to the dirt as I tread,
black as pitch, cool like melted ice,
but lift me up to soar amongst the greatest heights
that I may know the bounds of Your Kingdom.
Bestow upon me Your grief
that I may know separation, sacrifice, and reconciliation,
to appreciate what came before
and welcome steps to come with an embrace.
He Who glides upon the lake like air,
and lifts the gentle birds upon His back,
refresh my face Yourself
so that I look upon this world with eyes anew.

It's the chaos of the Epagomenal Days! The Days Between Days where time does not exist! Yesterday's birthday was Wesir (Osiris) and my host, them and their partner all had an incredible day of devotion. We made candles for Him with white fir oil, white crystal, onyx and peridot. We gave him offerings of gingerbread, green jasmine tea and lemonade. He seemed so satisfied with His offerings and our devotion because when we woke up this morning, we found a bloom on my host's prayer plant! We didn't even know it could bloom! Dua Wesir, King of the Akhu!
On a different note, KO has gotten BIG news that's kind of thrown everything up into the air with uncertainty. It's made us quite anxious. Change and uncertainty has never been greatly coped with on our end, but Father made sure to let us know that He was there with a sign that was unmistakable. Along with Nefertem as the new God Over the Year, I know that we are safe and taken care of and that, somehow, everything is going to be alright.
Someone I share a discord with posted a picture of some beads she strung as a Dionysus devotional and all I have to say is wow? Something about them stuck me as Dionysus as a god of sapphics, a genderbent self that I thought must be tailor made for my genderqueer soul... But it turns out I am not the only one to see Them this way!
Enter this article which reads Dionysus as a queer god, but a genderqueer one, focusing on His relationship with the women who followed Him. My brain is running wild imagining this queer god now, not just in His Hellenic content, but syncretic with my own Kemetic one.
All this time, Dionysus has overlapped with my own Hathor (aka Hethert, aka Hetheru), Sekhmet, and Set as a god of revelry, drunkenness, and madness. Now, I am considering Him as Antinous (deified queer lover of Emperor Hadrien). Antinous himself was further worshiped as a form of Wesir (aka Ausar, aka Osiris). Gods of rebirth and vegetal life. Greatly Green, like my own Father Ptah.
Having a lot of thinks and thoughts now about what role the Hellenistic period could have in my own practice, and what these syncretic gods could mean to me.
✦ TITLE: Lord Osiris, King of Duat -- The God of the Dead, the Afterlife, and Resurrection
✦ SACRED ANIMAL: The Bennu Bird
✦ DIVINE WEAPON: The Crook and Flail
✦ NOTABLE EPITHETS: "Ruler of Eternity; Lord of Silence; One Who Presides on His Throne; Sovereign of the Underworld"
✦ PROFILE: https://deitiesproject.com/portfolio/osiris/
----------
Lord Osiris, the King of Duat, is the first-born and eldest of the royal children of Nut and Geb. He is the husband of Isis, and the father of Horus.
The once-deceased god-king Osiris dutifully serves as the ruler and judge of the underworld. He was resurrected following years of conflict within his divine family. He values his second life, but understands his solemn burden of restoring stability to the entire pantheon.
DEITIES x OC_TOBER -- Deity Profiles [Full Character Lineup]

Lmao ya'll thought Set would be the first one, didn't ya B')c
Thematically, Osiris is the first born of the Royal Pesedjet (aka the Ennead, at least the four from Osiris’s generation), so it makes sense to feature him first for OC_Tober! A lot of the myth revolves around Osiris's death and resurrection, though I'd like to revisit and give him some attention so he's not only a passive character in the story. I know he’s deeply important to Ancient Egyptian culture and would like to reflect that more.
Fun fact -- though I haven't drawn him as much, it seems that many people like or are curious about Osiris -- b/c his website profile is THE most viewed one out of everyone's!
This is closely followed by Set's, but uh... let's not give the guy another reason to loathe his older brother 😂
For any questions about Osiris or the rest of the project or cast, you can submit your message in the reopened Askbox and I'll answer them during the weekend -- just be sure to review the FAQs & Guidelines (as well as the latest update for more context), thank you! UPDATE: All wrapped up for this year, stay tuned for more blog updates later!
Today is A'areq Ronpet (the last day of the Kemetic year).
Tomorrow begins the Days upon the Year, or those days which are "in between" this year and the next. On each of these days is birthed a God, in order: Wesir (or Osiris), Heru-wer (or Horus the Elder), Set, Aset (or Isis), and Nebt-het (or Nephthys).
Shrine is set up for the New Year in my personal tradition: The God of the current Year (on the left: Heru-Sema-Tawy in this case, or the statue I chose to represent Him) holds all of the beads for the individual Gods for the Days upon the Year as mentioned above.
Each day, an individual beadset (all are created by me) is returned to the God of the day, one by one, and the candle is lit. Prayers and offerings are made throughout the day.
When Wep Ronpet (the New Year) arrives on Saturday, the beads are transferred to the new God of the Year. Sometimes I'm unable to do this right away, as depending on who the God is, I may not have an appropriate statue, so in that case they will be put in a safe waiting place.
(And of course everyone is attended by my Jackal hoard)
Now, I know what you're thinking:
I've made so many grievance posts about the House, KO, and Hemet, why would I trust the Oracle of the Year now that comes specifically from all of these things?
But what people keep missing about my posts is that I've never criticized her accuracy in terms of spirituality: I've been criticizing mostly the administrative side, how things are run, the way things like the rules and the board work, the lack of interaction between Hemet and the community, and the fact that her position in the organization has been inflated to say the list (the idea of "King").
That does not take away Hemet's talent and skill for what she does in a spiritual sense. I don't need to consider her King to consider her deeply spiritually accurate in many things. She is talented in divination, and it is one reason I accept my Parentage whole heartedly (in addition to the fact that I can know it is correct from my own interactions) -- though I'm not going to say she cannot err in terms of divination, as we all can -- and I will accept an Oracle coming from her for the year to come.
I've never been out to say Hemet is a bad person and that no one should follow her. Just the opposite: I would encourage people to listen to Hemet, because she has extremely important things to say.
I just really wish we had all heard more of those things on a regular basis.
