fascinated by the lore implications of dapc dan originally being left handed but holding the knife in his right hand for the ritual. from the glitter faces "why am i left handed" "everyone makes mistakes! :)" -> ?????? -> knife in his right hand now......

a temple to a two-headed guardian god that demanded sacrifice for better drop rates which xB encouraged fellow hermits to partake of when they came out to visit. why has that not been discussed more.

i'm not rly the type for mcyt stuff, but i think i finally managed to articulate why qsmp in particular just feels so incredibly special to me.
it's the way that the language proficiency of literally everyone involved is slowly evolving the longer they play together. the way that the english speaking players are making an effort to talk to one another in spanish and vice versa. when this thing started i remember hearing from multiple eng povs that they had to lean a lot on the google translate tab (and thats ok!), but something that really excites me is when i see those same eng ccs express how much they want to learn more about speaking spanish bc it's a way that thet can genuinely connect with their fellow players.
it's not even the fact that it's a minecraft smp; that just Happens to be the medium through which we get to watch this unfold. it's the first time, at least to my knowledge, that we're able to watch both the spanish and english-speaking communities bond over a game they love at a level as involved as this. both sides of the community are equally prominent, and more importantly, they're united in a way that i've never really observed in an online space until now. genuinely ive never seen anything like this before and its just really fascinating to see how all the players take on the challenge of building that bridge over something that once was a communication barrier for them. i love language i love cooperative gaming i love humans having fun learning new things from one another

I think a good place to start looking for something that would let a vampire walk in the sun would be Gortash's notes, possibly the ciphered letters he and Durge communicated with - anything regarding their brainstorming for using the illithid.
'Cause an interesting fact about mind flayers is this:
"Like most races long resident in the Underdark, the origins of illithids are lost to the mists of history. Nevertheless, the tadpole form of their young suggests they may have evolved in briny, subterranean pools before developing the parasitic adult forms they now assume through ceremorphosis. [...] In any event, the utter hatred mind flayers evince for the sun indicates a long tenure within the tunnels of the Night Below."
They're amphibious beings built for the dark and damp, and the sun is bright, dry and uncomfortable on their damp flesh. When your future illithid thrall nation absolutely fucking hates the sun, it might be a good idea to start magically bioengineering tadpoles that won't have this issue; if they're enchanted with sunlight resistance to keep their future selves comfortable in the horrible dry, mucus-evaporating heat of the sun's rays, it might explain why the tadpole'd be able to extend such protections to a vampiric host.
Obviously you can't just shove another tadpole in your eye, but such research would be a good reference point on places to start looking if you wanted to find ways to replicate that effect on a vampire sans-tadpole.

The Sumeru glider lore description just makes me think about how it emphasized the divine as an important aspect of Teyvat's natural law. According to all known laws of aviation, the gliders cannot possibly have the ability to glide, and yet they function through the blessing of the Anemo Archon
In Firnas' dream, the Dendro Archon tells a story where the wind tells a story within a story within a story wi- all of them follow a similar structure of (y) telling (x) a story to encourage them. Now, the story in the Sumeru glider is about Firnas wanting to make a glider without the Anemo Archon's blessing, but in the end asks for it anyway because of the looping story driving him up a wall
I find it kind of neat how in Amber's story quest where we get a gliding license, she accidentally gives us the "Wind, Courage, and Wings" storybook. In the Sumeru glider lore, the stories had someone encouraging another. In the storybook, the lesson is that "What you lacked was not wind, but courage."
I'm just throwing this at a wall to see if it sticks, but what if there's a connection between these stories regarding the wind, courage, and wings and Genshin's overarching themes. The endless stories within a story in Firnas' dream only ends when he realizes how the divine is connected to the natural law, and the birds in the storybook relied too heavily on good wind conditions to fly before risking it all and leaping off a stormy cliff
What if these two stories are a sort of foreshadowing to how Teyvat is stuck repeating its history and the only way to truly end it is through both mortals and the divine working together. Mortal engineering cannot overcome its limitations without divine intervention, the birds cannot fly on strong winds alone without taking a leap of courage first, so perhaps one day the "courage" in these stories would be enough to take the people of Teyvat into new heights and weave their own fate

does anyone remember when team salvato had that “for fans by fans” fanart merch contest, but like it had a backstory that monika “wasn’t allowed to participate” cause “she always wins and it would be unfair :(” but like all images of her and mentions of her name were glitched out, and in the background of the promo art there was a piece of paper with her poem “Hole in Wall” mostly erased (and not even in her font asset, just in the neutral/MC handwriting font) so all signs pointed to monika’s file being deleted
but then literally none of that was ever directly acknowledged in the posts or the merch for the contest, or in ddlc+ lore, or on other posts from team salvato’s twitter or monika’s twitter account? so, though it probably wasn’t intended to be lore to begin with, we never got any context for it, even within the constraints of the “backstory” for this specific contest?
…no? just me? ok.

really actually kind of enjoy how the big lore moments are sort of quiet on a singular stream (or a small group!) instead of the events solely being the lore; i think there would be this hesitation to develop anything solo if the server reinforced this idea that Big Lore could only happen during scheduled events and days. instead the more narrative-progressing moments (take the baghera hybrid experiments revelation or the philza birdnapping for recent example) are very low-key and almost unhyped up— there’s no expectation for that kind of lore necessarily at the time which makes it more rewarding to experience as a viewer. big fan of how they do the events as player bonding time rather than serious narrative progression because it allows all the players (especially the ones who don’t engage in the rp side that much) to participate and get to know each another more; it’s very neat it’s really smart it’s nicely executed
