Meet October's Pal of the Month: the Honduran White Bat!

The Honduran white bat, among the smallest bats in the world, is known for its unique tent-making ability. By chewing along the veins of heliconia leaves and forcing them to droop, they create shelter from the sun and predators. But then, why white fur and not green? Light shining through the leaf tent makes their fur appear more green, helping them camouflage. These bats also have black membrane over their skulls, which is believed to shield them from UV light. The bat's diet of figs gives it lutein, an antioxidant that causes it's yellow appendages. It is the only mammal with enough lutein to cause that skin color. Since lutein is a carotenoid, it protects the bat's eyes from damage. Researchers are studying this in relation to macular degeneration in humans. The Honduran White Bat population size is unknown, but rainforest destruction is decreasing their habitat and they are very close to being classed as "vulnerable". One of the things that the RWBY x Justice League comic has with the Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes & Huntsmen, Part One film, is that they have featured Bruce and Weiss as friends and allies. One of the comic covers is even of them standing back to back, along with the film's poster placing the two close to one another.

That's why quite a few people are already considering on the idea of shipping them. I already have two possible titles in minds, but don't know which one to use? Should it be BruWeiss or White Bat?

Inktober Day 3: Bat

After I saw clips of Bruce and Weiss from the first part of the Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes and Huntsmen film, I got inspired to ship them and to do a collage on it. As well as getting me to take a look at the RWBY x Justice League comic it was inspired from. At first I thought about using screenshots of Batman and Weiss from the 2023 film, but the moments of Weiss with Remnant Bruce got me to try something a little different for a change.

I've consider of calling the ship "BruWeiss" and "White Bat," and the later appears to be wining the vote. While the two sharing cups of hot chocolate got me wondering if "Hot Chocolate" could serve as another ship title option, to reference those moments. There was also someone who thought that the ship's title could be "Butler Babies."
