I documented multiple cases with @/ EuroMedHR of Israeli soldiers abducting blonde children from #Gaza claiming they might be abductee Israelis. As Israeli forces are nearing my area of refuge, I just actually told my brother’s wife to dye her blonde daughter’s hair black! [@/ MahaGaza on X. 01/07/24.] Read this twice, took me twice Zionists are kidnapping blonde Palestinian babies and pretending they're isra*lis, Palestinians are being told to dye their children's hair black [@/ Lamis_Deek on X. 01/07/24/]
Thank you to a mutual for sharing/alerting me to this. This is absolutely horrifying. Like WHO was it that said blonde and blue-eyed babies were superior??
This also makes me think of white European colonizers kidnapping Indigenous children and bringing them to "residential schools" -which were mass genocide camps. If ya'll even know a little about this history, that's what it reminds me of. Indigenous children were forcibly separated from their families and cultures. They were forbidden to speak their languages and were violently abused, and many were killed in heinous and cruel ways -there are still MANY unmarked graves in the white-settler nation of Canada.
This is beyond disturbing. I can't even imagine the horrors behind something like this. The IOF are depraved.
*Edit: for context, I'm not saying that the history of cultural genocide of Indigenous people in settler-colonial countries like Canada and the United States is a direct parallel to what is happening or what appears to be happening to Palestinian children. It just brought up initial thoughts (in terms of my perspective) about the IOF kidnapping Palestinian babies for their 'perceived whiteness,' [which made me think of Nazi Germany's white supremacist discourses], and how very specific it is of them to be taking Palestinian babies/young children and saying they are 'Israeli' [which reminded me of how Indigenous children were forcibly taken from their homeland/cultures by violent settler-colonial states]. I think most of us can agree that the intentions behind this are nefarious, and no matter the reason -I am not trying to erase the severity of and atrocities behind nearly 2 centuries of anti-Indigenous racism and systemic violence against Indigenous communities. I saw a re-blog with commentary about this -and I just want to acknowledge what they had said because this is important to address.

The CRTC has launched a public consultation on whether to ban Fox News from Canadian airwaves after a complaint over incendiary comments made about LGBTQ2 people on the right-wing American network.
The broadcast regulator posted the notice on its website Wednesday, saying it is accepting comments from interested parties and the public until June 2.
Egale Canada, a Toronto-based LGBTQ2 advocacy group, urged the CRTC to hold the consultation in an April 4 open letter that cited “false and horrifying claims” about transgender people made by then-host Tucker Carlson during a March 28 broadcast.
“This programming is in clear violation of Canadian broadcasting standards and has no place on Canadian broadcasting networks,” Egale’s executive director Helen Kennedy wrote.
Carlson was fired from Fox News last week, but a spokesperson for Egale told Global News it remains “committed to the call” to remove the channel from Canadian airwaves, citing anti-LGBTQ2 rhetoric made by other hosts at the network. [...]
Note from the poster @el-shab-hussein: This post presents the reason Tucker Carlson was fired, for reader context.

hope one day the internet understands that two things can be true at the same time and that it is possible for a group to be a minority, suffer prejudice and at the same time oppress another minority group. For example, we need to talk openly about homophobia, about the discrimination that lgbt+ people faces and at same time talk openly about antiblackness that exist in lgbt+ spaces and any other minority group. how black lgbt+ are treated in the lgbt+ spaces etc
just to keep going with your example anti blackness is so baked into latin america that even brown latines are racist to afro latinos.
a really good example is lin manuel miranda a brown latino whitewashing the story of washington heights and what was supposed to be a story of the dominican americans (the majority of which are afro latines) and cast almost exclusively light skinned latines for the movie version of the musical.
(and as a reminder he turned the slave owning founding fathers into a musical and made them rap and cut out the contributions of Brown and Black Americans in the founding of the USA).

It makes me so upset that both the marvels and blue beetle has been treated like shit by their studios and by the fandoms that the studio have created . Like both did poorly in box office but that was not the fault of the movies itt was the fault of the studios absolutely doing nothing to premote the movies during the strikes and also the fandom (white af) being Jackasses about the films.
Brie iman teyonah and xolo deserve so much better and a fucking major apology for what happened by the studio 😔😔😔😔
racism and sexism totally have a part to play in it too though. like yes the studios are shit for not properly advertising it but like theres this deep set hatred of people of color in the comics fandom. like Monica Rambeau has always been Black, Jaime Reyes has always been a brown Latino, Kamala Khan has always been Desi and muslim. white people are constantly saying they don't want white characters racebent anymore (Iris West Allen, Ariel from the Little mermaid etc). but when presented with actual characters of color white people claim its a woke agenda thats them.
Like its just really frustrating superhero movies are finally super inclusive (racially at least) and now the whites are nowhere to be found.
and before anyone comes into our inbox to complain about this just look at how well Barbie did in theaters.

I know nobody gives a shit about this in comparison so posting a save file with uncredited builds in it, but reminder of that time @mapanou started calling me out of name and spewing hateful nazi ideology at me out of nowhere just bc i made a lukewarm criticism of a paywaller and I dared to say black people are often criticized more for being angry... but since only one of my parents are black that ain't allowed 😬 some of yall acted like this was okay but I didn't forget it, I notice how some of their friends are acting all betrayed now bc their homie turned out to be a sims content thief but you knew who you were laying down with clearly. You were glad to support an extremely nasty ass person when the vitriol was directed at me, but God forbid someone not credit a build! anyway guess who was struck down and it wasn't me bitch 💀

That aside, since the insufferable cunt had the nerve to mention the One Drop Rule, which has been used as a tool to discriminate against all black people and keep their mixed offspring othered for as many generations as possible, here's some sources on what it actually refers to (and some related articles about the struggles of mixed race people). It's a method of discrimination by white supremacists, not a way for mixed race people that you think are unworthy of speaking to "claim" to be black. If you're lurking, mapanou, i hope you and your friends read them and understand something you should have already at your "very big age".

^ the basic gist for the lazy. and just an added bit. I don't know if mapanou has ever seen me, because I barely know them and certainly didn't share with them, but I have been doxxed plenty and my pics probably shared to them by others and im obviously not white though i am light skinned. im very proud of my dark natural hair, brown eyes, thick lips and big nose that I all got from my father. I have nothing to prove nor hide about who I am. I am black and asian and white and I love every part of what makes me, me. I am mixed race and if you don't believe or like me as I am that's your problem not mine. just wanna clear that up for all the people that may have been confused about it. and for all my followers that are mixed, especially black and asian, I love you and you have a place here. your voices and experiences are valuable and you deserve to be heard. that's all I got to say.

TW: This post contains explicit discussions of white supremacy and the alt-right, including mentions of racism and antisemitism.
One of my most impactful recent library reads was Sisters In Hate by Seyward Darby, and I want to take a moment to encourage other white Americans to check it out as we prepare for next years' presidential election and all the shit it's going to kick up.
Sisters In Hate is a book about the role of women in American white supremacist movements and specifically in the alt-right. Darby does a really excellent job of showing just how critical white women are to these hate movements. The book also gives us a detailed look at what radicalization looks like and how that process can be different for different genders.
The book is divided into three sections, each of which follows a real woman through her radicalization into the alt-right. I especially want to draw Tumblr's attention to the story of Ayla, a self-proclaimed "polyamorous, raw foodist-vegan, feminist, pagan" whose radicalization started in college with natural living and homebirth and ended with her running a popular tradwife blog and speaking at the Unite the Right rally.
I think a lot of leftists and liberals feel that we're too smart, or too educated, or too savvy to fall for white supremacist recruitment schemes. We are not. Intelligent, college-educated, left-leaning people are radicalized every day. Some of them are less overtly hateful, like your college friend who starts voting Republican in their 30s. Some of them are like Ayla, and their radicalization takes them all the way to the other end of the political spectrum until they're openly and genuinely calling for a white ethnostate with the same passion they once used to advocate for feminism, racial equity, and queer rights. And we need to remember that any one of us intelligent, college-educated, left-leaning white folks could be in her position, which is why it's so important to learn about radicalization tactics so we can recognize and resist them.
I'm not gonna lie -- this book is hard to read. The text contains racial slurs, white supremacist rhetoric, antisemitism, and anti-Black racism. All of this is condemned by the author, but Darby doesn't shy away from showing just how vile this movement is. I had to take a lot of breaks from this book and read it over several weeks, but I'm very glad I did because I feel like I needed this information.
White supremacist recruitment efforts are going to pick up in the next year, especially if Tr*mp is the Republican nominee for president. Stay informed and stay ready.

I am probably not the best person to talk about this, but an arm of white supremacy I've noticed is this idea that white people who even passively recognize racism or the idea that a person of colour is an equal are groveling at the feet of PoC.
While these ideas attack a seeming "character flaw" of a white person/person seen or conceptualized as white who isn't overtly or openly racist, these ideas rely on the white supremacist idea that non-white people (are at best) subhuman, or not human at all. There's this trope of the White Saviour that absolutely does exist, and I'm not denying that, but sometimes, I've noticed that people invoke the idea of the White Saviour in order to subtly insinuate that white people should "put PoC in their place (below whites)." Does that make sense?

While it's true that anyone *can* change, I think it is also true that someone has to *want* to change.
There are so many people out there who grew up in hardcore conservative environments and will provide detailed stories as to how they grew out of that way of thinking--but I think a lot of that ability to grow comes from the doubt in said beliefs that were likely already there. A former white supremacist doesn't just decide they don't want to be anymore, they likely already had doubts in the idea of white supremacy. An exvangelical turned atheist/agnostic/ other spirituality don't wake up one day and decide they don't believe in God (or at least the version they grew up with) anymore. They already had their doubts. They just weren't allowed to express them.
Like, there's so much talk about "reaching across the aisle" and talking to the "other side," but that is just not safe most of the time. You're likely not going to convert bigots into being non-bigots anymore. Call it an "echo chamber" all you want, but it's much safer to talk about these issues amongst ourselves. The ones who want to change will find our conversations themselves.

Over the Canada Day long weekend, 19 Peterborough residents reported receiving flyers promoting anti-Jewish conspiracy theories and white supremacist propaganda, marking the third time in three months that such flyers were distributed to various neighbourhoods in the city.
“It's just not acceptable that our brothers and sisters in the Jewish community have been targeted for this kind of vile hatred,” said Peterborough Mayor Jeff Leal.
The mayor said the hateful conduct originated from the United States and the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center, a Jewish advocacy organization, and others have specifically linked the flyers to the U.S.-based hate group Goyim Defense League (GDL). GDL is described as a “loose” network of individuals on the internet who stream antisemitic content and engage in stunts to harass Jewish people.

Residential school deniers tried to dig up suspected unmarked grave sites at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School, not believing a May 2021 announcement from the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc that as many as 215 Indigenous children had been buried there, according to a new report. "Denialists entered the site without permission. Some came in the middle of the night, carrying shovels; they said they wanted to 'see for themselves' if children are buried there," said a Friday report from Kimberly Murray, the independent special interlocutor for missing children and unmarked graves and burial sites associated with Indian Residential Schools. She did not say who the denialists were or when they came to the site. But the unauthorized visits to the site are the work of a "core group" of Canadians who continue to deny, defend or minimize the physical, sexual, psychological and emotional abuse inflicted on Indigenous children in the Indian Residential School System "despite the indisputable evidence of survivors and their families," Murray said at a Friday news conference. This is not a post arguing whether or not you should or shouldn't like Jason as a character. This is simply to point out why Jason and his actions evoke racist imagery in America. If you are not American, some of this may have gone over your head. It is important nonetheless to understand. Note, I am white. I am not going to tell fans of color how to feel about Jason either. I am just pointing out for historical reasons why many fans are disturbed by Jason's actions beyond the context of the show, that does not make an explicit connection between his actions and racist America though it is heavily implied, intentional or not.
1) The concept of white men forming lynch mobs to punish black men for allegedly assaulting their white girlfriends played out many times in real life in racist America. While Jason's lynch mob initially targeted Eddie, his final target and the one who received the most harm was Lucas.
Emmett Till was one of the most prominent victims of this kind of lynching. He was just a 14 year old black boy who was tortured and killed for being wrongfully accused of "disturbing" a white woman. This was not in the distant past. His accuser Carol Bryant is still alive.
2) The "one of the good ones" line is a white supremacist dog whistle and a microaggression in America for any person of color who is respectable enough to whites in their attitudes and behaviors that are perceived as helping to hold up white supremacy. This was told to Lucas.
3) Jason's appearance whether intentional or not fits the "uniform" of American white supremacists. For example, below is an infamous photo of the Unite the Right rally that took place in Charlottesville Virginia. White men especially paraded in polos and khakis with their hair done in a conservative fashion. It is no coincidence that this same look is valued among the white Christian conservative right.
Tumblr media
Regardless if it was intentional, Jason brings to mind all of these things in American viewers. If you do not understand what racism in America looks like then some of this may have gone over your head. It's why I find it surprising that people will call Billy a violent racist, but then argue that Jason was just grieving his girlfriend. There have been plenty of white men who were "grieving" or "trying to protect" their white girlfriends who then violently attacked black people who were doing nothing but existing while black.
The fact that Lucas became the primary target and people accuse Lucas of "acting suspicious" reinforce this, justifying a rather brutal attack by Jason who is white on Lucas who is black. Do I think anyone who is invested in Jason's character is a bad person who is violently racist? No, because I can recognize the difference between people liking a character and condoning their actions. However, when people fail to understand why Jason's behavior strikes a nerve in American audiences... this is why.

I wasn't sure about sending this here or to fandomshatepeopleofcolor so sending it here. Anyway, as someone who enjoys playing video games I love to add mods to games and always thought people who made mods for games were amazing, and I still think a lot of them are but some of them are just gross. I'll mostly be using BG3 for examples bc that's the most recent game I've looked at mods for, but someone made a mod to make Wyll and his father white (note that Wyll is the only non white companion, Karlach's VA isn't white but Karlach is a red tiefling). Then someone made a mod to make Dame Aylin (a woman who's strong and can be direct and say what's on her mind, could come off as a little rude at times but tbh I don't blame her, and she's in a relationship with a woman) into a man and the description is "meet Ser Aylin, a slightly more polite and male version of Dame Aylin" and that the mod "ensures that the gender and sexuality of world NPCs match medieval status quo" but dragons and magical creatures are okay ig but not people of color or LGBTQ+ people. I believe the white Wyll mod and the Ser Aylin mod are made by the same person. Both mods were removed from Nexus and the account banned but sites like moddinghaven and rpghq still have them up and have other terrible mods to make NPCs white, straight, cis, etc. on RPGHQ the modder has a mod pack called no alphabets that includes the Ser Aylin mod and removes mentions of any LGBTQ+ relationships by changing someone's gender and turn trans characters cis. Oh and they also use AI to alter their voices. Baldur's Better Aesthetics is another mod that changes NPCs from POC to white claming it's more "lore accurate" even tho the creator of the forgotten realms setting has said forgotten realms has always had LGBTQ+ people, people of color, etc. Anyway I just needed to rant and to say if anyone mods their games, maybe stick to nexus and not moddinghaven or rpghq who keep these mods up. RPGHQ doesn't just allow these mods they encourage them as well
Hey thanks for taking the time to explain all of this to us!! I want to play bg3 but my laptop is old lol.
So here's Wyll in bg3
Tumblr media
and here's the alternate wyll on moddinghaven (btw there's 2 white wyll mods the original was revamped to make it work better 🤮)
Tumblr media
here's the ser aylin
Tumblr media
and here's the "better aesthetics" (the one that white washes the npcs)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So um yeah its a shit show!!!
Since I'm not familiar with moddinghaven I don't think its worth it to complain. and I'm not even clicking on rpghq because like this is their results when you look it up on ecosia
Tumblr media
Like the top 2 mods are for the whitewashing mods. also "made in america"??? what bullshit. just admit you're nazis and go.
I'm really really hoping that like me none of our followers have strayed from nexus!!! Because this is honestly repugnant and I wish I could coordinate like an attack on moddinghaven and rpghq and bring them down.
