What even is Tumblr

Look I wont try to fool you guys, I’m too bad at it. I have never paid enough attention to tumblr to really figure out how to use this website. I started a Tumblr probably around 5/10 years ago, uploaded some pictures, may have made a story or two and then bounced on my merry way. I didn’t know what it was really, and definitely did NOT understand how to use it. 

Most of that...hasn’t changed....but I am noticing that you have so many different Tumblr categories. Text, photo, quote, video, audio, links,.....chat????? CHAT??? Like a live chatroom or a forum? How do you use all of these? Should you use all of these or do people generally pick one or two and stick with that? 

I’m rambling....but this was originally like a journal site right? So why not, let’s keep going. 

Now I do mostly art. I love my art. My art has improved immensely since I started taking it seriously somewhere around going on 4 years ago. Wild. Seriously seriously wild. I’ve been taking art seriously for 4 years after believing art wasn’t for me most of my life. Believing I shouldn’t take it seriously because I wasn’t good enough.

Well I am good enough, so I did start taking it seriously, and now I am one happy clam. Making art. Improving in art. Sharing that art with all 1 or 2 of you.

Also, I watch anime again. So whats your favorite anime ever vs whats your favorite anime RIGHT NOW.

If you define yourself by anything outside of you… who are you when it’s taken away? That’s what often leaves people feeling broken and lost… This is easy to see in ROLES we play: Someone lose a job where their title was what mattered to them… People put all their worth in being a mom but are lost when their kids go away to school… It happens on break ups all the time (and understandably so…) Athletes? Experience this all the time when transitioning out of sport. It’s also easy to see in things we HAVE: “I’m the girl/guy with the abs…” (reminder, bodies change with age) “I’m the one who always has great hair…” (What happens when we start to lose our hair?) If you live with this quote in mind, it will remind you to always keep exploring who you are, what your core values are, and allow you to still feel whole when things you value (things *outside of you* that you value) start to change… because inevitably, they will change. (This doesn’t mean we shouldn’t value things outside of us… it means we should realize that we are still whole when things outside of us change. We should expect it to happen…but how do we prepare ourselves? Villains are not born. There isn’t some innate impulse that makes a person “bad”.

Villains are MADE.

As we age, we encounter the ugliness that’s been passed down, generation to generation, since the dawn of time.

Lack of empathy. Distrust. Pain. Let downs. MISUNDERSTANDINGS. Impatience. Distractions. Selfishness. Pride.

That’s what makes a villain.

As children, we are good. Pure.

Let down after let down, we tire of trying to be good in the face of what we decide is evil.

WE DECIDE.

Villains DECIDE to be villains after time and time again if not getting our needs met. Perhaps when we’re too weak to speak up, or perhaps when our pleas fall onto deaf ears too many times.

How does it feel to know that you may have inadvertently added to the reason that another human became a villain?

Or worse.
