Willow would emit more climate pollution annually than more than 99.7% of all single point sources in the country. It’s estimated that the oil from Willow, when burned, would add more than 280 million metric tons of climate pollution to the atmosphere over the next 30 years — equivalent to the annual emissions from 76 coal-fired power plants. Willow is a climate disaster we just can’t afford.

"On Monday, March 13th, 2023, the Biden Administration approved the controversial Willow Project, the largest fossil fuel project the United States has reckoned with in decades. An $8 billion initiative of ConocoPhillips, Alaska’s largest crude oil producer, the project will nearly double existing oil production in the state."
"Long story short, over 30 years, Willow will release 260 million metric tons of carbon emissions into the atmosphere. That’s not good, especially given a United Nations climate report saying global carbon emissions rose in 2022. Also, Alaska Natives are sharply divided on this project. The blog explores the long history of extractive capitalism in Alaska, and how that has essentially put impoverished Indigenous people at the end of the barrel of a gun when it comes to fossil fuel projects like Willow."
The Lakota Law Project has another petition going around against a massive oil drilling project in Alaska. First link is the petition, second is their blog post about it with more information. Signing the petition is super easy. Just add your name and email.

Please sign this petition, or we could be in some serious danger
Update:
Biden is going through with the project. But it is not too late. Many lawsuits are to be held against him, and we can still put the pressure onto him
Keep signing, keep putting pressure onto Biden

VERY IMPORTANT
Hi everyone, I'm sure most of you are aware of the Willow project. If not.
Tumblr media
Our planet will be in terrible danger, which includes us. We are already suffering from immense climate change. If this project continues, we can't undo anything. I know all of my followers are Avatar fans. "The dying world" that is described will be our planet. We all wish for a Pandora, for a mother nature that looks as beautiful as Pandora. We already have one and we need to try what we can, to save Earth. Please sign these petitions and any of the petitions you come across to stop the willow project. <3

Stop the Willow Project
Broskis I have never done a post like this and tbh, I barely get interactions on my posts so this may be a complete dud, but recent i’ve gotten an influx of followers so I’m going to use that momentum right now.
If you care even the slightest about the planet and want to piss off the boomers and ConocoPhillips (a disgusting ass oil company 🤢🤮) with a big fuck you, please please please sign the Protect The Arctic petition against the Willow Project in Alaska and the Arctic and/or the Change.org petition against the mining.
If the Biden administration does go ahead with the plan, it really will mark an end for the planet - ConocoPhillips wants to drill for petroleum and as a result, will destroy local habitats and disrupt the wildlife. It will pump over 278 MILLION tons of greenhouse gases into the air. You know, one of the biggest things currently warming our planet and killing us? The locations that they want to destroy are “…critical habitat for migrating caribou, waterfowl and other wildlife.” They have even aggressively lobbying Congress and the White House to try and pass the bill to allow for the project! It will destroy any progress towards the end for oil drilling and the destruction of the climate. The warming planet is wreaking havoc on the wildlife there (and across the world) as well.
Please, if there’s anything you take away from this, is that this is a threat to my future! To your future! To our future! Please sign the petition I’ve linked and i’ll link the change.org link as well. I’ve also included links about the project itself and how it’s detrimental to the arctic and it’s wildlife, alongside how important the arctic is as a whole to keeping the balance of Earth’s climate.

The Willow Project
surprise ! surprise ! the government, whether it be blue or red, doesn't give a damn about you and the environment. The climate crisis has been going on for decades now. Oil companies are destroying the environment since the 1970s. And the State allow it.
We live in a capitalist society, where "money" (literally colored pieces of paper) are more important than lives. I'm tired to see people being like "we need to wake them up! They need to realize how serious climate change is!"
THEY KNOW. They're wide awake. They just don't care. The State and its friends doesn't give a damn about the consequences of their actions. They simply don't fucking care. They've been telling us since the very beginning that they don't care. THIS CRISIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR DECADES NOW – when will we finally accept the message and start organizing ?
a petition has been made to protest against the Willow Project. But will a piece of paper really change anything? If I shared what I wanna do against those disgusting, selfish companies, especially to those who are behind this stupid project, I'd be banned and arrested.
Honestly, we have no choice left ; we need to *seriously* fight against capitalism and the State.
How are we supposed to smash the State if we keep following their rules ? They don't deserve peace or kindness. They reached the limit.
Those assholes are stealing our future, destroying the environment and killing living beings (whether it be animals or human beings such as Indigenous populations), why should we be peaceful ?
Those protests are useless. Those petitions are useless. Those speeches are useless. We've been doing this for years. FOR DECADES. This has been going on for years, when will we finally realize that this way of protesting against climate change isn't the solution?!
This type of activism is performative and only serves the State. If we say "Fuck the State", then we shouldn't be following its rules. The solution to put an end to this capitalist dystopia is a fucking revolution.
FIGHT BACK!

PLEASE READ!!! IMPORTANT!!
Hi everyone! I usually don’t post about things like this as I try to keep this blog light-hearted and comfy and a place to escape the negativity of the real world. But this is really important and I want to spread awareness. I’m hoping most of you have heard of the Willow Project and have taken a step to get involved. If not, I’ll try to summarize it, but for more information I’d definitely google it or go to Tik Tok where people are making videos to raise awareness and spread information. Basically, the Willow project is a Oil Drilling project in Alaska. The project would dismantle the air, food and water quality there. If the project is approved, it would produce about 600 million barrels of oil over 30 years. It is a carbon bomb. Our planet is already suffering so much and the more we can do to help save it, the better. So I beg of you, please help us get this project denied.
Please use this link. Use your voice. Save our planet. Do your part. Please.

Common Dreams
Sept. 13, 2023
"It's clear that the crisis is spiraling out of control and the policies of your administration with regard to fossil fuels fail to align with what the science tells us must happen to avert calamity."
In an open letter published Wednesday, around 400 scientists implored U.S. President Joe Biden to endorse the demands of this weekend's March to End Fossil Fuels in New York—which include halting new fossil fuel projects, ending oil and gas drilling on public lands, and declaring a climate emergency.
Noting that "on your first day in office, you issued an executive order pledging that it is 'the policy of my administration to listen to the science' in tackling the climate crisis," the letter's signers lamented that "more than two years later, it's clear that the crisis is spiraling out of control and the policies of your administration with regard to fossil fuels fail to align with what the science tells us must happen to avert calamity."
"With the climate crisis raging all around us—in the form of fires, floods, hurricanes, drought, heatwaves, crop failures, and more—we call on you directly, clearly, and unequivocally to stop enacting policies contrary to science and do what is needed to address the crisis," the signatories added.
The scientists called on Biden to:
Stop federal approval for new fossil fuel projects and repeal permits for climate bombs like the Willow project and the Mountain Valley Pipeline;
Phase out fossil drilling on our public lands and waters;
Declare a climate emergency to halt fossil fuel exports and investments abroad, and turbocharge the buildout of more just, resilient distributed energy (like rooftop and community solar); and
Provide a just transition to a renewable energy future that generates millions of jobs while supporting workers' and community rights, job security, and employment equity.
"We scientists heard the president loud and clear when he pledged two years ago to 'listen to the science' on climate. Yet now we're watching our nation's greenhouse gas emissions spiral out of control while White House policy becomes increasingly unaligned with reality," Sandra Steingraber—an initial signatory of the letter and a senior scientist at the Science and Environmental Health Network"—said in a statement.
"Science says we need to ratchet down fossil fuel extraction—the White House is doubling down," she added. " Scientists are here to say that our data support the demands of this march."
"Given how bad global heating has now gotten, it's simply insane that President Biden still refuses to declare a climate emergency."
Peter Kalmus of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory—another initial signer—said that "given how bad global heating has now gotten, it's simply insane that President Biden still refuses to declare a climate emergency, and indeed, continues to make everything worse by expanding fossil fuels."
"Nothing takes away my hope for humanity's collective future more than Biden's choice to stand with the fossil fuel industry," Kalmus added. "He must pivot and become the climate leader the planet needs, or else he'll continue locking in higher temperatures and ever more irreversible damage to Earth's habitability."
Nearly 800 international, national, and local organizations have endorsed Sunday's March to End Fossil Fuels, which comes ahead of United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres' Climate Ambition Summit and this fall's U.N. Climate Change Conference—also known as COP28—in Dubai. More than 400 marches, rallies, and other climate mobilizations are slated for this weekend.

I don't particularly talk about heavy worldly problems on my Tumblr but this is of the utmost importance. If you are unaware of what the Willow Project is, it is a proposal that could severely damage both our Arctic and make climate change irreversible. I don't have the means to explain everything, but the link provided does so exceptionally. Please follow the link and sign the petition, we are at +2 million signatures and almost 1 million letters are written that opposes this project. At the very least share this post around as much as possible, please. It will literally take only five minutes of your time.
I know climate change is scary and honestly it gives me anxiety to the point where I actively avoid topics, but this is of the utmost importance, please. We don't have much time, the more we can get them to postpone, the more chances we have of them not going through with it

Sadly, The Willow Project has been approved, but I know we can count on it being fought against every single day - starting now and lasting for its entire existence (there's already an open lawsuit against it). -qbv
