Zombies Masterlist
Links Last Checked: August 31st, 2023
part two
Abandoned by Heaven (ao3) - Royswordsman (RoySwordsman) steve/tony T, 32k
Summary: Steve is injected with a deadly virus that lands him straight into quarantine. However, the virus does more than any of the others could have thought— It kills him, rebuilds him, and turned him into the walking dead. Tony tries desperately to prevent it and cure Steve, but is left with coping with his dearest friend turning into a zombie. This takes its toll on Tony in more ways than one, as Tony has to watch his friend slowly display symptoms of the undead. Doing all he can to save him while, Tony is forced to watch the heart-breaking transformation take place.
a god to a non-believer (ao3) - calciseptine steve/tony M, 4k
Summary: After the world ends, Steve finds happiness.
A Scared New World (ao3) - Capstar98 pepper/tony M, 44k (WIP)
Summary: It’s been a few months since the world fell to a mysterious disease that made the dead rise from their graves. Now a group of survivors, led by Tony Stark, are trying to find safety among the madness. That’s when they come across a scared kid named Peter Parker.
(Aka the zombie apocalypse AU)
Battle for the sun (ao3) - snoozingkitten steve/tony E, 9k
Summary: This story is about that moment, that hour, that day right after the end of the world where all the pieces were there but no one had any idea how they fit together any more. It is also about zombies. Mostly, it’s about unethical science.
Where it wasn't aliens, but zombies.
Between the Shadow and the Soul (ao3) - prettyboyporter steve/tony E, 23k
Summary: For 34 years, Steve Rogers has been in a relationship with Tony Stark. In each of the story’s four parts, an object or memory triggers a flashback to an earlier moment of their lives. Steve recalls a children’s hospital visit, his musical education, a very drunken Christmas and a zombie apocalypse.
dead masquerade (ao3) - sleeponrooftops steve/tony, jane/thor M, 10k
Summary: An epidemic strikes that renders planet Earth infected. Save for those who have sworn to protect her, of course. But even the Avengers find that the infected have gone beyond their control, and they seek retreat in the safe bases overseas, hiding from the bite and struggling to survive.
Gravely, Deeply, Deadly (ao3) - Winterstar steve/tony E, 7k
Summary: Tony looks at the remains of what he’s done. He looks at it, long and hard. He memorizes the details, the horror. This is his sin to own.
or Tony and Steve are caught in a zombie apocalypse and things do not go well.
if the world was ending (you'd come over, right?) (ao3) - coykoi mj/peter T, 37k
Summary: When the world is basically ending, keep your loved ones close.
Unless they’ve been bitten.
Then keep them far away.
Very far.
In This Last of Meeting Places (ao3) - DrowningByDegrees steve/bucky E, 44k
Summary: It’s been three years since the world ended, and Bucky Barnes has gotten pretty used to the new order of things. From the abandoned radio station he’s laid claim to, Bucky protects his little corner of the world the best way he knows how, sharing information.
When he’s not behind a microphone, his home serves as a waypoint for weary travelers. He knows nearly all of them, counts them as friends even. It’s a good setup all things considered, and Bucky is pretty sure he has everything and everyone he really needs. Then, his ex-husband turns up.
AKA: Steve and Bucky are a divorced couple who find their way back to each other in between trying to avoid becoming a zombie snack.
Not Without You (ao3) - SevereStorms, wreckingthefinite steve/bucky E, 94k
Summary: Six months earlier, Bucky would have said the prospect of dying back home in Brooklyn sounded like a dream. Now, faced with his own imminent demise in a Brooklyn that is almost unrecognizable, it’s decidedly less appealing.
Honestly, it’s just sort of bizarre. Survive Afghanistan and come home to die in the pseudo-zombie apocalypse. Can’t make this stuff up.
Pretty Lies (ao3) - Spicysauce mj/peter T, 43k
Summary: Or, a zombie apocalypse AU, featuring our favourite trio, a lot of Peter whump, and a good dose of Irondad! (I promise the story is better than this summary.)
saw you from the city ruins (ao3) - Bugsquads mj/peter T, 12k
Summary: ‘The first time a zombie was shown on TV, before they knew this meant the end of the world, Peter, MJ and Ned had been sitting around the TV in Ned’s room, and MJ had been fascinated by the science behind it. She wanted to know everything about its physiology, its brain, its diet.
Now, they’re just the monsters that make the outside off limits.’
Peter, MJ, and the end of the world.
Searching For The Good (ao3) - perfect_plan steve/bucky M, 21k
Summary: A zombie outbreak has pretty much ended the world and Bucky is alone, intent on surviving without anyone's help. But then he meets another survivor and starts to think that maybe being alone isn't the best way to be.
So, The Helicarrier Needs Curtains (ao3) - lettered bruce/natasha, clint/phil, clint/natasha, bruce/tony G, 3k
Summary: This isn’t actually about curtains. It’s about friends, taking care of each other, pizza, and zombies.
The Long Road South (ao3) - citsiurtlanu steve/tony T, 41k
Summary: Zombie apocalypse AU. Steve Rogers is rescued ten years after going into the ice to find the world taken over by the undead, with the man who brought him out being none other than his old flame, Tony Stark. Believing that the serum running through Steve's veins is humanity's last hope for finding a cure, they begin the long journey south in order to meet up with Tony's other contacts - dealing with hordes of biters, living people of varying trustworthiness, and Steve's own unresolved anger toward Tony for his role in the War along the way.
Zombies (ao3) - EaSnowPw tony/stephen G, 4k
Summary: The zombie survivors welcome a new member in their midst.

Cap-IM Rec Week 2020 (Wednesday - Canon Divergence)
What-If Wednesday, June 17th: Time to rec some AUs! Canon divergence, no-power alternate universes, soulmates… send them all in - for @cap-ironman Rec Week.
This list is for canon divergence fic recs, my AU rec list is here. Some of these are fix-its, some are open-ended, please read the summaries and tags.
Remember to show some love for your hard-working authors!
the mind-body problem by firebrands ( @firebrands ):
Steve is a reporter for the New York Bulletin, and one day he's assigned a story that might be just above his pay grade. To find out the truth, he's got to speak to the man implicated: Tony Stark.
A canon-divergent fic where Steve is not captain america, but Tony is still Tony Stark. Set around the same time as Iron Man 1. (WIP)
that’s the gift that holds me by theappleppielifestyle ( @theappleppielifestyle ):
Tony asks if there’s anything he missed while he was away - away, he says, because it’s easier than saying hey did anything interesting go down while I was kidnapped and getting tortured in a cave - and Rhodey hesitates before saying no.
(Or, an Iron Man AU where Steve is defrosted while Tony is in Afghanistan.)
Double-Blind (Get Me Back In the World) by navaan ( @navaan ):
Shortly after being defrosted, Steve meets a handsome stranger at a party and has the certain epiphany that sex is a good way to reconnect with the world that is now so strange to him. Because one thing that hasn’t changed is that sex is simple. That the man seems to hate the very thought of Captain America makes it even easier for some reason.
Or the one in which Steve sleeps with someone called Henry Hellrung. Although - not really.
given you a number, taken away your name by janonny:
As Tony behaves more erratically, S.H.I.E.L.D. sends in Steve as an undercover agent in S.I. to be Natasha’s back-up. Except Steve is really, really not cut out for this undercover business.
Mister Fixit and the Mechanic by Mizzy ( @mizzy2k ):
An Iron Man 3 AU, wherein Steve was defrosted too early, and after a couple of lonely decades working for SHIELD, decides to retire and run a hardware store called Mister Fixit’s in suburban Miami.
Tony Stark, presumed dead, presumed not-Iron Man, needs to make some weapons to take on the Mandarin’s mansion. A non-chain store that takes cash and doesn’t ask questions is just what Tony needs.
Steve becomes intrigued by the mysterious mechanic that keeps buying things from his store, but when he becomes more aware of what Tony the Mechanic is up to, is Steve ready to be this close to the world of superheroes again?
Drifting Further Everyday by GotTheSilver ( @gotthesilver ):
Steve’s quiet a lot of the time, it’s almost like living with a ghost, and Tony kind of hates it; he lives with more than enough actual ghosts every day. The longer time goes on, the more Tony recognises what’s going on, sees the jumpiness, the haunted look on his face, and he gets it. Realises they’re both trying to bury things they don’t want to talk about. More often than not, Tony turns around in the workshop to see Steve sitting there, patiently working on something in his sketchbook or reading an actual book, usually something he missed during the years he was frozen.
Somehow Steve is filling all the gaps in his life Tony didn’t realise he needed filling.
one night in new york by CapnWinghead ( @capnwinghead ):
Steve needs somewhere to lay low after Pierce's men come after him. Unfortunately, there's only one person he trusts at the moment.
Cabin Fever by Winterstar:
After Ultron, the team needed something to pull them back together. A long weekend away at a cabin in the woods sounded like an excellent idea. They could binge watch favorite shows, cook, eat, play games. It would be great. Except it wasn't, because the storm of the century hit and Tony ends up stuck with Steve - alone in the cabin.
Butterfly Dreams by Teyke:
In one world, Tony and Steve are newlyweds, trying to make the most of their honeymoon. Too bad about the incredibly inconvenient timing of earthquakes, volcanoes, and supervillains...
In another, Steve's just gotten Bucky back, and the Accords have been struck down. But the fractures the Accords caused haven't healed, and Tony has vanished from the face of the earth.
The problem? It's the same Steve. When he falls asleep in one life, he wakes in the other. Unless he can figure out which life is real, both are at risk.
Any Road by sheron ( @sheronwrites ):
Three months after defeating Thanos, Steve Rogers wakes up in the middle of a cornfield, with no memory of how he got there. No memories of anything, not even his own name. The only valuable on him is a flip-phone with a single contact number.
Tony Stark will do anything to help him remember, but he won't even admit they are friends.
Message in a Bottle by dirigibleplumbing ( @dirigibleplumbing ):
After Thanos destroys half the universe, Steve starts recording messages and putting them online. He also asks Friday to transmit them into space. Just… because.
Machines and Marvels by rainbowninja167:
In an alternate timeline where the Avengers never formed, Steve and Tony need a crash course in team bonding. Stephen Strange just had to take that literally.
Steve's Terrible Gauntlet by hollyandvice ( @hollyandvice ):
Steve has never been one to accept what the world has given him. When returning the Stones presents an opportunity to undo the worst loss of the final battle, Steve reaches out and holds on with both hands. Even if it means needing to save Tony over and over and over again. Steve isn't going to let him go. Never again. (WIP)
Miles to Go (An Infinity to Get There) by Padraigen:
Steve isn't dead. Tony knows it in his heart, and he is willing to risk everything to bring him back.
But that proves to be an infinitely more difficult task when Tony realizes it's not so much a question of saving Steve from the stones as it is saving Steve from himself. (WIP)
Bright Things and Fair by sheron ( @sheronwrites ):
The course of true love never did run smooth — and neither did time-travel to retrieve the Tesseract. When circumstances outside their control force Steve and Tony to spend more time together in the 1970, they do what two people with their history do under the circumstances: work together and try to get through it without unnecessary feelings getting in the way. Falling for each other is definitely a bad idea, isn't it?
Redame by magicasen:
When he finally spits into the trash, he doesn’t understand what he’s looking at. Had he managed to swallow a piece of paper without realizing? It’s wet and disgusting, but curiosity gets the better of him as he picks it up gingerly between his fingers. It’s a flower petal, he realizes abruptly, rubbing it carefully as it rolls up and finally crumples between his fingers.
Like losing half the world wasn't enough, Steve's body also begins to rebel against his love for Tony.
i'll take coffee and talk about nothing. by frostfall ( @kapteniron ):
Every Friday evening, Steve meets with Tony for coffee.
Warmer Corners by vorkosigan ( @the-vorkosigan ):
It all started when Morgan decided she wanted to meet Captain America. Or perhas it started when Steve fell into a frozen lake and Tony had to fish him out. Or maybe when he decided it was a good idea to crawl under the blankets and try to warm Steve up using his body heat. But, most probably, it actually started a long time ago.
Where Our Restless Monsters Sleep by Mizzy ( @mizzy2k ):
Years after Tony Stark saved the universe, the Avengers realize there’s a major problem: his body has gone missing. And he isn’t the only one. Fallen heroes all over the galaxy have had their graves pillaged.
An old foe is stealing the bodies of fallen warriors, but for what nefarious reason? There’s only one solution. To find out why it’s happening, Steve’s gotta die.
He probably shouldn’t be so eager to do that.
Lover Come Hold Me by RurouniHime ( @thegertie ):
One by one, the stones must go back.
shades of happiness by lazywriter7 ( @lazywriter7 ):
Part of the journey is the end.
Steve Rogers considers his many possible endings, and chooses one.
There's a Party Going on Right Here by Annie D ( @no-gorms ):
After the Battle of Earth, Tony hosts a party.
the eventual corruption of my body by nasa:
Steve wants Tony back, so he makes a deal with Death. If that deal has him dying in exactly a year's time - well, that's a price Steve's willing to pay.
couldn't whisper (when you needed it shouted) by @onlymorelove:
Steve still can't let go of that damned flip phone. (Really, he can't let go of Tony.)
In My Hands and Gone Again by nostalgicatsea ( @nostalgicatsea ):
Memories were like fish, Tony had explained, or the tease of one. A flash of silver, and his hands would plunge down. Sometimes he would catch one; other times, it would dart out of reach. He wouldn’t be sure whether it had been real or just a trick of the light, after.
Hope you guys enjoy the recs, and stay tuned for more! Check out my tag for previous years’ rec lists :) For more fix-its, check out this list from last year.

Hi! Do you have any recs where Steve/Tony got hurt in a battle and ended up in the coma? And after Steve/Tony got out of the coma he (Steve/Tony) gets ‘scolded’ by the other on how dangerous and stuff is? Hope that you have one which Steve sacrifices himself snd another where Tony sacrifices himself. Thank you!
hey anon! i don’t know many coma fics, but here are a handful that i do know. i’m afraid not all of them fit the category you’re looking for, and you might want to ask @ad1thi who’s taking rec requests right now :)
One Step Backwards by LagLemon
Steve Rogers went to bed last night and everything was fine. He had Bucky back, friends that accepted him for who he was and a lover he never wanted to stop snuggling with.
The next morning, things have gone to hell in a hand basket. He wakes up in hospital bed, recovering from a seventy year long coma - a coma caused by the apparent failure of the Super Soldier Serum. He's small again - and he's not Captain America anymore. Bucky is.
the things we invent when we are scared by nanasekei
Steve is trapped in a dream machine, programmed to make him believe he's living his happiest fantasy.
Tony goes inside to wake him up, but what he finds is a lot more complicated than he expected.
Upon Waking by Winterstar
A story of recovery. In a world without superheroes, Tony Stark, the disinherited son of a billionaire, goes to Afghanistan as an embedded media star, only to be held hostage for months until he’s rescued. During his recovery, his therapist Doctor Bruce Banner prescribes an unusual treatment; volunteer work at a rehab center. He meets an eclectic assembled group including a vet who thinks he’s Thor, a physical therapist who might be a spy, and an all American hero, Steve Rogers. It is Steve Rogers, the soldier in a coma, who captures his interest and, eventually, his heart.
Equivalence by thegraytigress
When Tony wakes up, he wakes up to a nightmare.
Blue Lips, Blue Veins by romanoff
Tony Stark is Iron Man.
Before that, he was an man with bigger heart than brain. Before that, he was an asshole with a bigger mouth than sense. And before that, he was was a scared little boy. Not that it matters. Stark's always have had iron in their backbone.
hope you find some of these to your tastes! don’t forget to leave comments and kudos on the fics :)

Q11: What do you recommend for someone trying to get into the ship?
A: Fanfics! That’s how i started out and we’re lucky to have some of the most talented writers out there writing for our boys! Seriously, whatever you’re into you’ll probably find it in some corner of A03. But to get you started I’ll rec some of my current favourites for you to look through if you’re interested!
I don’t care, I’m down for what you want by IronSwordStarShield
Steve Rogers came out of the ice somewhere in 2009 but he didn't pick up the Captain America mantle again. Instead, he chooses to become "Nomad," an agent for hire in one corner of the dark net. Then things get interesting when someone hires him to steal plans for something called an "arc reactor" from the recently rescued Tony Stark. Steve expects this to be an easy job but little does he realize, this whole life is about to change.

Over Sea, Under Stars by vorkosigan
Tony gets the phone, but he never uses it and he never intends to. Or, he doesn’t until Steve starts texting him, asking strange questions about medication and mental health, which is when Tony gets worried.
(A texting fix-it that grew beyond all proportion. Deals with depression and anxiety quite a lot. There is even some plot in there somewhere.)

The Way You Look by BlanketOfDeath and im95notdead
The year is 1948 and Steve Rogers is one of the most powerful and most feared men in Brooklyn as well as leader of the Irish mob. When he realizes he's being cheated out of his protection money, he decides it's time to do things himself. He walks into Howard Stark's deli, a stop on his route, and there he meets his eldest son, Tony.

There Were Young Once Too by DufflecoatsandBurberry
Peter Stark-Rogers is sent back in time after an unknown alien weapon misfires, when he and his Dad were investigating it. Peter arrives in September 1991, landing in his Dad's college apartment to find that his parents aren’t together, let alone speaking to each other. Peter must find a way back home but has he changed history just by being here? Guess he will just need to befriend his dad, The Tony Stark, the then famous son of Howard Stark.

The Family Man by madeitsimple
Tony Stark wakes up in a strange apartment. The first thing he sees, much to his surprise and relief, is Steve Rogers, leaning against the kitchen counter, sipping coffee.
He has no idea how he got here, but he knows he doesn't want to leave.

From Where We Began by RunningInThePouringRain
When Steve returns the stones he knows he is going to stay in 2012. This is the only chance he has. He can do better there. He knows what he needs to change so when Thanos comes, he and Tony are standing side by side. The only thing he didn't plan on was confronting his own feelings for Tony Stark.
(Or the fix it fic where Steve arrives in 2012 and tries to rewrite MCU canon in order to save Tony Stark).

A Winter Dance
Here’s my Secret Santa for @octobersfarm
I had really fun trying to write someone else’s character and I hope I made Wren enough justice since they seem really cool! Let me know if anything feels weird and I’ll change it and otherwise, enjoy! And Happy Holidays!
Wren ran around the room looking for the present as the snow fell outside. She had to leave for the feast soon and if she were to pick up Penny on the way she couldn't be late. She rummaged through her drawers to find where she'd put it and successfully took out a small package that she hurried towards the kitchen with.
On the sink stood a rack of muffins freshly out of the oven. She put them carefully into the box before grabbing the ribbon she had found and topped it off with a bow. She then grabbed the package and headed for the front door after making sure the stove was turned off. On her way she stopped in front of the mirror looking at her reflection.
She was wearing a long brown skirt with stockings underneath and a white sweater over it decorated with a wintery pattern. She nodded to herself before heading out of the farmhouse and locking the door before starting to make her way towards the town.
She was thankful that she had shoveled this morning  as the sides of the road were now covered in snow that went well over her boots hight. It had snowed all week which had sealed the town in a layer of thick snow but today it looked like it would clear up. The sun was setting and she managed to spot the beautiful pink hues between the cloudy layers as she walked towards the town. If they were lucky they might even be able to see the special winter star that was rumored to only show this day of the year. Walking down the road she could see the colored lights lighting up the square from the distance and faintly hear music and laughter.
She rounded the corner of Evelyn's house and strode towards Penny and Pam's caravan, thankfully the road up to their house had also been shoveled so she could easily make her way to their front door. She knocked before taking a step back as she heard shuffling before Penny opened the door.
"Whoa! You look amazing!"
Penny smiled as she took Wrens outstretched hand and helped her down. She was wearing a long red dress with a sweater over it to combat the cold. The sequins was reflecting the lights and coloring the space around her.
"You don't think it's too much..?"
"No it's absolutely perfect!" A blush dusted Penny's cheeks.
"You look lovely aswell."
They started making their way towards the town. They could see the town center being lit up by lights making the snow around it glow. The sun had now completely gone down, the cold air now making them shiver. As they rounded the bar and entered the town's center they were hit with the noises of people celebrating. There were tables set up holding this years harvest, some of the food coming directly from Wrens farm. They could see families slowly settling around their tables officially starting their feast.
The thing that caught both of their eyes were the giant spruce tree now decorating the middle of the plaza, lighting the surrounding town up with twinkling lights and adored with a bright star on top of it. There were presents piled underneath it where Vincent and Jazz were now standing, staring at it with big eyes while trying to find their own presents.
"I'm surprised every year at how Lewis manages to pull this off every year" Penny said while looking at the tree.
"Yeah... It really is magical."
The moment didn't last long. As soon as the kids spotted them they came running, both talking in the mouth of the other making it unable to be understood.
"Penny! Have you seen the tree! Isn't it the best?!" Penny laughed at the children tugging at her dress, dragging her towards the tree.
"Have you seen our present?"
"I'm getting a really big one this year!"
"Aren't you forgetting something?" Wren looked at them with a stern look before smiling when they bowed their heads.
"Miss Penny, can you come with us to the tree? Pleeease?"
"Sure" She answered with a chuckle before following the two children towards the tree, waving goodbye to Wren for the moment.
Wren took a moment to gaze at the tree. It had been decorated with twinkling lights. It looked like most of the village had already gathered and when she looked towards the buffé table she spotted Shane standing by himself, a drink in hand. She started to head towards him. As she came closer he saw her and smiled.
"Merry Christmas Shane!" Wren said cheerfully.
"Merry Christmas to you too."
"It's been awhile since I've seen you. How have you been?"
"Good, It's been good."He said while gazing at the ground. "It's been hectic at home. You know how Marnie gets around this time of the year.. I think she's made at least 5 main courses and ten types of cookies for tonight. I tried to tell her we won't need that much but it's no use." He said with a snicker. And you? Everything going good at the farm?"
"Yeah, I don't really have that much to do since I can't really grow anything. I've been spending more time inside with Penny. Just enjoying winter I guess..? It's been nice to get to relax for a bit."
The conversation died down as Shane took a sip from the cup he was holding.
"Don't worry." Shane quickly added when he saw Wren eyeing it suspiciously. "It's just hot chocolate. I've been trying to switch out the strong stuff, besides, this is way more enjoyable and it makes Jazz happy.” He added with a smile.
They stayed like that for a moment just admiring the tree and enjoying each other's presence. Wren saw Penny making her way towards her so she said goodbye to Shane and started walking towards Penny.
"You manage to get away from them?" Wren asked laughing.
"I haven't seen them this excited since Jazz's birthday." She snickered. "That reminds me!" She pulled out a present she had hidden behind her back and stretched it towards Wren. "Here's your present. I hope you like it!" She said with a smile. Wren snickered to themselves while admiring the pretty paper. It seemed like Penny had used several tape rolls to hold the present together. In it was a red knitted sweater. Wren pulled it out and measured it against her body. It seemed to fit perfectly.
"Have you made this?" Wren said while admiring the gift.
"Yeah, do you like it?" Penny asked shyly.
"I love it! And it fits me perfectly! I didn't know you could knit?" Wren said amazed.
"Evelyn has been teaching me so it's her you have to thank! My first attempt was just a mess of loose strings." Penny said while letting out a small chuckle.
"Guess I'll be living in this over the next weeks! My turn now!" Wren moved towards the tree and came back with a present that she handed to Penny. "Just be careful! It's a bit fragile!"
It was a box wrapped in flower printed paper with a red bow around it. Penny slowly untied the ribbon and opened the box, as she did so a familiar smell reached her nose. Pennys face lit up. The box contained poppy muffins gently wrapped as to not crumble.
"Thank you! When did you even have time to make these?" Penny beamed. Wren rubbed at her neck.
"Well I made them this morning before leaving. They're better fresh so I didn't want them to go stale..." She said awkwardly. Penny put the lid back and placed the box on the ground carefully before enveloping Wren in a hug.
"I love you." Wren quickly returned the embrace.
"I love you too."
Lewis voice ended the moment as it cut through the noise. Everybody quieted down as he wished them welcome and let everyone take a seat to let the feast begin. Wren and Penny had managed to grab some seats at the end of one of the long tables along with Pam and Gus right next to Marnie, Jazz and Shane.
The meal was enjoyed between friends as everyone had helped bring something. As they ate the homemade food they caught up and discussed everything that had happened since the last time they had seen each other, laughing and appreciating each other's company.
As the meal ended Lewis put on some music and invited everyone to dance. Robin and Demetrius opened the dance and soon many formed couples and followed.
"Now I expect you kids to join aswell!" Pam shouted over her shoulder as Gus lead her towards the dancefloor.
"You know I'm not good at dancing.." Penny said. Not really making any attempt to stand up.
"I can promise you I've seen worse." Wren said while looking over at Haley who loudly complained about Alex stepping on her toes. Wren stood up and stretched out her hand towards her.
"Come on, it'll be fun." She said with a smile. Penny cautiously took it as they slowly made their way over towards the dancefloor. At first Penny was stiff, keeping her gaze on her feet trying to follow Wrens steps but after some time she started to relax and let Wren lead her. Even laughing when Wren spun her.
"Not so horrible after all?" Wren said with a smile on her face.
"Maybe not." Penny replied still laughing.
They stayed like that, slow dancing to the music and enjoying the evening.
As the clock came closer to midnight everyone started to gather in groups to find a spot to wait for the winterstar.
As the star fell over the valley Wren and Penny stood close in the group of people, hands intertwined as they watched it light up the night sky. Penny leaned closer whispering "I love you" Before Wren kissed her she answered "I love you too."

This year, we got 102 works submitted for our event! That is amazing. We hope you had lots of fun :) The full event masterlist together with the creators of each work is here under the read more! IT’S LONG AND AMAZING.
Unmade by laireshi for Kiyaar (616, 3600 words) "He looked exactly like you," Tony hears himself say. "I knew it wasn’t you, but he looked like you, so I believed he wouldn’t hurt me." Why is he telling Steve that? "He told me you loved me," Tony continues. Maybe he just wants it all to hurt. Maybe if it hurts enough, it’ll finally end once and for all. All I Want For Christmas by scifigrl47 for Mozzarella (MCU, 6300 words) It's the Christmas season, and all Steve wants is a little privacy. All Tony wants is a date. All thanks to Justin Hammer- Wait, what?? by afincf_tirwer for adarksweetness (MCU, 2900 words) Tony ends up for auction at a charity ball. Steve ends up with a ticket. But with both boys smitten and unable to address it, well, that leads to complications. Which leads to this story. All the Difference in the World by Winterstar for Lunatical (Avengers Academy, 7200 words) It's Tony's luck that on his first date with Steve away from the Academy, they end up abducted by AIM agents and it looks like their boss just might reveal Tony's big secret. Ribot’s Law by Veldeia for Winterstar (MCU, 19600 words) Steve Rogers doesn't know he's Captain America. The ice erased his memories. It's up to Tony to convince him. And teach him how to be Captain America again. Soulmates by HeroSkatman for lazywriter7 (Ultimates, art) (art; no summary) This town ain't big enough (for the lot of us) by Bill_Longbow for Cap Iron Man Community (Multi, 1400 words) For the prompt: Identity Porn+Multiverse. Two Steve's from different universes get into a fight over which of their crushes is better: Tony Stark or Iron Man. A Wish Your Heart Makes by a_salty_alto for Cap Iron Man Community (Avengers Assemble (Cartoon), 2000 words) A fill for the Community prompt "Tony Stark: disney princess and friend to all living things." Conditioning by One and Five Nines for Cap Iron Man Community (MCU, NSFW art) Fill for the prompt: Tony has some wild, possibly dub-conny sex with Winter Soldier!Steve. Coffee War Christmas by Neverever for Caped-Ace (Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, 7000 words) After realizing that he loves Steve, Tony finds out that he might have missed his opportunity to ask Steve out. Astable by Ironlawyer for ranoutofrun (616, 4100 words) Extremis was supposed to make him stronger, but after the fight with Mallen, Tony loses control and Steve struggles to handle a Tony who’s falling apart at the seams. Staking A Claim by ChibiSquirt for Leio_Rossi (MCU, 8700 words) When Sarah Gwen Rogers meets Natasha Stark, Tasha says, "My dad used to rave about you. That marvelous Captain America and how amazing she was, how good... It's too bad his little girl didn't follow in her footsteps." But as it turns out, there's rather a lot Howard Stark didn't know about Gwen. It Takes Only a Moment by Dophne for gottalovev (MCU, 3900 words) Steve and Tony have been in love for months and it took one stubborn tug and a giving mind for them to find out that the feelings were mutual. Eigengrau by vorkosigan for marinarusalka (MCU, 16800 words) Tony is captured; he doesn't know by whom, or why. He doesn't know how much time has passed since. What he knows is, he can now hear something in the adjacent cell, and that 'something' sounds a lot like Steve Rogers. I hope you have a White One (But for me it's Blue) by mitochondrials for fandomfrolics (Avengers Assemble (Cartoon), 1400 words) Tony's never really been a fan of the holidays, even now with Steve and the team. But that doesn't stop Steve from coercing him with cookies and ... Christmas trees? Enchanted by kikijpn1121 for Impala_Chick (Avengers Academy, art) Amora the Enchantress' truth spell worked... as not she had expected. So Much That I Wanna Do by ChibiSquirt for Cap Iron Man Community (MCU, 4900 words) Steve wants Tony, but Tony has a boyfriend. Then Tony's boyfriend talks him into a Public Use fantasy, and it's a little too tempting for Steve to resist. Based on this prompt: Tony is left out for public use, Steve takes his turn. I Search Myself (I Want You to Find Me) by tisfan for Cap Iron Man Community (MCU, 3100 words) [NSFW] 5 times Steve jerked off to Tony while out in the wilderness + 1 time he jerked off on Tony Almost Feelings by XtaticPearl for Neverever (MCU, 6500 words) Steve never knew what life he could have lived or how the present would have been different if he had died in the ice. He didn't think he would ever handle thinking about either without losing control. Tony doesn't want to think about how his life could have been different if Steve had never crashed or hadn't come back. He didn't think he could handle giving that much control to missed chances. It was probably ironic that such men should find each other. It was definitely amusing that they such men should love each other. Sleepy Boyfriends and Lovesick Fools by Lunatical for palindrome (MCU, 2100 words) For the prompt: Tony is always falling asleep in weird places; Steve loves carrying him to bed. (not) Chasing Tomorrow by Mozzarella for izazov (616, 2900 words) In which Steve Rogers makes the most of a time loop by falling in love Ghosts of the Gilded Age by teaberryblue for ladyshadowdrake (Marvel Comics, 20600 words) In 1883 New York, Tony Stark, millionaire inventor, is a man of science, reason, and a sense of humor that other people sometimes even appreciate. That's why he has no time for the latest popular obsession with seances, the supernatural, and the afterlife. Until a ghost finds him. Watercolors by palindrome for MiniRaven (MCU, 4300 words) At a masked art gallery event Tony hits it off with Steve, but they end up separating before they can exchange information. Cue Tony starting a mad search to find Steve. I Told You So by thudworm for dapperanachronism (MCU, 1900 words) Holiday Exchange Fill for the prompt: Steve and Tony are out one afternoon on a walk or some such. One of them ends up getting hit on very obnoxiously. The attention is very clearly making them uncomfortable. The other steps in and saves the moment, with an awkward follow up conversation once they're alone again. The light at the end of the tunnel by Shaliara for Ironlawyer (616, art) There is freedom there. Touch Wood by Ironlawyer for Cap Iron Man Community (Ultimate, 1900 words) Steve likes jerking off outside. He likes jerking off outside even better when Tony is there to watch. Maybe with enough duct tape by Bill_Longbow for Cap Iron Man Community (MCU, 3500 words) This was a stupid plan, so very, very stupid, but given the choice he would rather face one disappointed Steve than a horde of disappointed Carbonells. Even though Tony forgot to mention he broke up with his boyfriend and Rhodey refuses to dye his hair it might all work out in the end. Open for Christmas by FestiveFerret for Cap Iron Man Community (MCU, 9000 words) It was Christmas fucking Eve, in the middle of fucking nowhere, and his car was completely fucking dead. Fuck. Paper Boats by Juulna for Reddwarfer (MCU, 14200 words) Tony never thought that he'd be asked to come to Wakanda, let alone by Steve. What was even more unexpected was that Steve had no memory of the last two and a half years. Written for the prompt: 'Amnesia helps Steve/Tony forgive each other.' "Anger is like flowing water; there's nothing wrong with it as long as you let it flow. Hate is like stagnant water; anger that you denied yourself the freedom to feel, the freedom to flow; water that you gathered in one place and left to forget. Stagnant water becomes dirty, stinky, disease-ridden, poisonous, deadly; that is your hate. On flowing water travels little paper boats; paper boats of forgiveness. Allow yourself to feel anger, allow your waters to flow, along with all the paper boats of forgiveness. Be human." ― C. JoyBell C. east of my youth, west of my future by foldingcranes for MsErmestH (616, 2600 words) There are two sets of memories in Steve’s mind. Two lives lived. Are they equally real? Steve doesn't know anymore. Don’t Let Me Down (Got a Lot Going On Right Now) by sheron for soniclipstick (Avengers Academy, 5100 words) A failed chemistry experiment in the lab means Tony has to take off his gauntlet. In front of Steve. Who has never seen him without it before. Try Again by Impala_Chick for tsukiharu (MCU, 2500 words) For the prompt: AU in which Post-CACW!Tony is sent back in time (by Dr. Strange) to prevent War, but things go wrong and he meets Pre-serum!Steve. There Tony learns a lot of things about Steve (and ends up helplessly falling for him). Can You Feel My Heart Again by IndigoNight for Rowantreeisme (MCU, 5300 words) Tony has a nightmare and over reacts. The bots worry. And Steve is very stubborn. The Perfect Tree by MK_Yujji for frosted_astronaut (MCU, 4200 words) Who knew that finding the perfect Christmas tree could be such an adventure? The Sound of Bells by SarkaS for teaberryblue (616, Art + 510 words) Gift for lovely teaberryblue who wished for Steve/Tony Regency AU. I've done my very best and hope you'll enjoy your gift! Everything You Desire by cptxrogers for Cap Iron Man Community (Any, 4300 words) After a run-in with an unfamiliar villain, Steve ends up tied up and left with a vibrator up his ass. This is not the kind of battle he was expecting. Just as well Tony is there to help him out. Exposed by FestiveFerret, SirSapling for Cap Iron Man Community (Ultimates, 5900]) Of all the people Steve could be stuck with while this agonizing drug surged through him, of course, it had to be Tony Stark. A Proportional Response by MsErmestH for mitochondrials (Ultimates, 11400 words) Steve doesn't have a reason for cock-blocking Tony. No reason, whatsoever. Not even past by marinarusalka for XtaticPearl (MCU, 6100 words) Tony meets a painful reminder of his past, and Steve gets caught in the fallout. Headin’ Down the Atlanta Highway by fandomfrolics for PannaNat (Avengers Assemble (Cartoon), 4000 words) Tony and Steve are tricked into taking a road trip together. Cue lots of UST in a moving, compact space. The Persistence of Memory by ladyshadowdrake for laireshi (616, 4400 words) Director Stark has an office he hates, a job he doesn't want, and the fallout from a war he doesn't remember to handle. A late night meeting with Steve turns into an argument, but that's nothing unusual for them anymore. The way it ends is certainly new. Like Cats and Dogs by kenshincha for SarkaS (Avengers Academy, 1000 words) "This is so embarrassing!" Tony exclaimed, his hands firmly on his head. Loki sighed, looking at his nails. "Calm down." "Calm down?!" Tony snarled and took his hands down. The black cat ears on the top of his head angled back, and the black tail poking out of his pants swished in agitation. "It's not my fault you bumped into me while I was studying arcane lore in the Timeless Archives." Loki smirked. "Be happy you still have thumbs." All My Roads Lead Back To You by Reddwarfer for Dophne (MCU, 5700 words) Tony and Steve find their way back into each other's lives in the most Steve and Tony way possible. The only things that stand between them talking things out are one of them being a fugitive, the Accords, Everett Ross, Hydra, and their own stubbornness. In the Catacombs of Paris by Lets_call_me_Lily for Veldeia (Noir, Art) While exploring the catacombs of Paris looking for the magical ring of Princess Angelica, famous adventurer Tony Stark and his steadfast new chronicler Steve Rogers become trapped after a tunnel collapses... Serenity Oasis by FestiveFerret for Cap Iron Man Community (MCU, 19800 words) Waking up with the last six months erased from his mind was bad enough, but apparently some time in that missing period, Steve went from hating Tony to marrying him... or was it all a cover for a mission? You Want It Darker by laireshi for Cap Iron Man Community (616, 1800 words) When Steve kisses him, he tastes like champagne. Or: Hydra Steve has a gift for Tony. Pride by Meatball42 for MK_Yujji (MCU, 1700 words) This year, Steve wouldn’t have to watch the Pride parade from inside a cold, lonely suite while other New Yorkers like him celebrated. He would be a part of it, free to speak his mind, in this strange new world, in a way he’d never dared before. Black Silk and Plastic Touches by Caped-Ace for Sineala (616, 5600 words) They say you should try walking a mile in someone else's shoes. Well, the New Avengers are more the partying than walking kind, which leads to masquerade shenanigans and everyone dressing up in each other's worst costumes. Cue Tony hiding away in the workshop to make the perfect outfit for the occasion, with its silly half-cowl and low-cut neckline that should be illegal. Enter the long lost Nomad, the Tony Stark remix, featuring Steve with rollerblades. Retention by ranoutofrun for Shaliara (616, 3400 words) Steve and Tony find themselves in the hospital from a sudden and terrible attack, after cleaning up a dime a dozen villain wannabe on their date. One of them gets out relatively unscathed, as the other looks on, it becomes more apparent that this may not be entirely so. Unfound his Treasure by diabla616 for magicasen (Ultimates, 2800 words) A year later Steve Rogers again wakes up in a SHIELD medical facility, with no memories of having done this once already. In Your Warmth I Forget How Cold It Can Be by izazov for genderfluid_pigeon (MCU, 28000]) Tony's relationship with Steve Rogers was complicated at best, volatile at worst. It didn't change the fact that they kept ending up sharing a bed. And not in the fun way. Not again! by Lanidzac for kenshincha (Avengers Academy, Art) [Art Fill] Hogwarts AU: Slytherin!Tony keeps trying new experiments in the potion lab that keep exploding. Gryffindor!Steve is horrified and is trying is best to keep Tony from killing himself. Baby Alpaca Love Letters by FestiveFerret for Cap Iron Man Community (MCU, 5700 words) Someone is leaving beautiful, perfect, warm, soft, knitted gifts for Tony, and he'd really like to know who. And why. Hold on when you get love (so you can let go when you give it) by MsErmestH for Cap Iron Man Community (616, 2500 words) Steve's thrown for a loop when dozens of babies, belonging to the Tonys and Steves of the extinct multiverse, mysteriously appear. But he's not confused to find out that there were universes where he loved Tony. He's only surprised to learn that there were universes where Tony loved him back. a kind of macabre and somber Wondertwin type of harmony by MsErmestH for Cap Iron Man Community (616, 2800 words) Steve didn’t bring much with him when he left New York to explore the rest of America—just his motorcycle, the shield, a change of clothes, and the memories of his Hydra-counterpart. Now, after six months on the road, he's stuck in a hell of his own creation. It's a hell with no room for Tony Stark, who just happens to be standing in the middle of his motel room. it’s not the magic, darling (i was already under your spell) by soniclipstick for Meatball42 (Avengers Academy, 6300 words) When a lust spell cast by Amora goes awry, it’s Tony that takes the brunt of it. Steve’s sure Tony’s fine by now. After all, he flirts like he breathes, and someone is bound to give him a hand, or so the saying goes. Fortunately for him, Tony has a pet unicorn who’s happy to set the facts straight. With a little help from Natasha, of course. EVEN THE WIND CAN FEAR by clumsykitty for jiokra (Marvel 1872, 13600 words) In the lost town of Timely, things do not go well and with the appearance of a crossroads demon offering Tony something he wants above all things, only magic and a pair of extra hands can help the blacksmith succeed between demons and Pale Riders conspiring against him. Nothing to Forgive by Sineala for HeroSkatman (Marvel 616, 4800 words) Steve's roadtrip across America is derailed by the news that Tony's comatose body has disappeared. He unhesitatingly volunteers to join the search, even as he wonders what Tony will think of him when he finds him, and if their relationship can ever be the same again. between the stardust and the sand by adarksweetness for clumsykitty (MCU, crossover with multiple verses, 3800 words) In a world that's always changing, soulmates are a perpetual feeling. Or, Steve and Tony get a visitor from the far-flung future. (the more I get to know you) the less I know by Fluffypanda for Juulna (MCU, 7700 words) Everytime Steve thinks he knows something about Tony, it gets turn on it's head. aka Sam asks Steve to babysit his nephew, Tony gets kidnapped, and everybody learns something new. A dazzling place I never knew by PannaNat for diabla616 (MCU, art) What if Tony found Steve on his own and helped him adjusting to the new world? A small series of drawings. Portrait of the Artist as a Young Woodchuck by teaberryblue for Cap Iron Man Community (Marvel Comics, 2450 words) Steve paints Tony. The Thing About History (Is That It's Doomed to Repeat) by heartsandmuses for Cap Iron Man Community (MCU, 19200 words) As far as rough weekends went, this was, hands-down, the worst Tony ever had — and considering one of the runner-ups involved being kidnapped by a terrorist group and held prisoner in a cave with a car battery hooked up to his chest, that was really saying something. Still, at least there weren’t any dinosaurs in Afghanistan. All Better by FestiveFerret, SirSapling for Cap Iron Man Community (Ultimates, 4700 words + art) The first time it happened, Steve almost clocked Tony in the face. Do-Over by gottalovev for ChibiSquirt (MCU, 14578 words) Steve woke up six months ago into a future that leaves him indifferent. There is work, and not much else. His current mission is a basic search and rescue operation to retrieve an American who was kidnapped by a terrorist group ten days ago. He won't let the fact that the hostage is Howard's son be a distraction. Our Love Is A Ghost That The Others Can't See by Kiyaar for navaan (Marvel 616, 11329 words) Post-Civil War, canon-divergent from Director of SHIELD. In Tony’s dreams, he is back in the street, in a crater, the city on fire around him. Steve kneels over him and beats him to within an inch of his life. It’s his favorite place to go, these days. Like A Painting by magicasen for scifigrl47 (MCU, 3740 words) Tony wasn't sure what compelled him to go for it. A dare? Curiosity? A check on the bucket list? Either way, what mattered was that Steve Rogers had never found a challenge he wouldn't take. Ghosts of Fanboys Past by MiniRaven for thudworm (MCU, 11940 words) As a kid, Tony practically worshiped Captain America. He read every comic book, treasured every poster, every playing card. To say he was obsessed would be an understatement. Thank goodness Tony's early fanboy days were far behind him. Or, at least, they would be if AIM hadn't kidnapped Tony, reached into his time stream, and pulled out the six year old version of him who was absolutely smitten with Captain America. Or, as Tony liked to call it, Tuesday. After being rescued by the newly reformed Avengers, Tony realizes he's got a lot on his plate. Not only does he have to figure out how to send said kid back to the past, but he also has to deal with his teammate's strange infatuation with his younger self. Specifically tell his new boyfriend, Steve Rogers, that this kid is not adorable. You should not listen to him. You should not encourage him. Why do you let him say all these embarrassing things. Child, stop. You're embarrassing me. No, don't do that. Stop. Please stop. For the love of god, someone please shut him up! When I Say Team, When I Say Follow by navaan for foldingcranes (Avengers Assemble, 4788 words) The Avengers are back together, but what does that mean for his relationship with Steve? Out of Time by tsukiharu for vorkosigan (MCU, art) Tony goes back to when Steve hasn't taken the serum yet, falls in love, and asks Steve not to get on the plane (so he'd be able to stay with his friends, instead of lost and hopeless in the future). Except, Steve remembers Tony from that time and doesn't take the plane to be able to meet him again. Never Let You Go by cptxrogers for Cap Iron Man Community (Marvel 616, 3300 words) It's the return of Tiberius Stone and his evil virtual reality technology! Things are just perfect for Tony. He is happy with his Avengers family, his company is doing great, and he and Steve are deeply in love and finally getting to enjoy their life together. So why doesn't it feel right? Tactical Field Care by Veldeia for Cap Iron Man Community (Marvel Noir, 8410 words) One unlucky shot is enough to turn a mission in occupied France into a nightmare, but Steve isn't going to leave Tony behind, no matter what. The Icing on the Cake by teaberryblue, GrayJay for Cap Iron Man Community (Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heros, 1422 words) Tony Stark decorates a cake. (Don't) Want To Remember by laireshi for Cap Iron Man Community (Marvel 616, 1830 words) After Civil War, Steve and Tony don't want to so much as even talk to each other--but then they're trapped in a snowstorm and are forced to cuddle. It works out better than expected. Easier by laireshi for Cap Iron Man Community (Marvel 616, 757 words) 505 noun (informal) 1. Do Me The Honour, It's For A Good Cause by laireshi for sheron (616, 2700 words) Tony finds the perfect way to make everyone trust Steve again: he just has to propose to him. Undercover Steve by Neverever for kikijpn1121 (Avengers Assemble (Cartoon), 3400 words) Steve pines for Tony while the team goes undercover as customers at a strip club. Always Honest by FestiveFerret for afincf_tirwer (MCU, 3800 words) “It’s a truth spell,” Clint admitted. “It forces you to answer any question asked with the truth, until it wears off.” A Life That's Full by fictionforlife for Fluffypanda (Marvel Noir, art) Noir, pre-serum Steve, adventure, and bed sharing. Curiosity Killed the Cat (Satisfaction Brought It Back) by Sandrene09 for Cap Iron Man Community (Ambiguous Universe, 23000 words) Written for the 2017 Cap-Ironman Holiday Exchange: Community Prompts: Tony has a major crush on Captain America despite not knowing who he is beneath the mask. He gets turned into a cat and the only way to turn back is for someone he loves to love him as he is. He obviously doesn’t have a chance with Cap. After wandering the streets, he gets taken in by an ordinary guy named Steve, who turns out to be pretty great, maybe even his chance at breaking the curse. The Price of Love by Ironlawyer for Cap Iron Man Community (616, 1600 words) Tony lingers, burned into Steve’s life and heart. How do you learn to live alone again? Nothing Much, but Everything by navaan for Cap Iron Man Community (616, 1500 words) It had always been that way between them and Steve had never examined it. But I can’t do it.” He was shaking, on the verge of tears, and Steve understood something terrible had happened. To The End Of Love by laireshi for Cap Iron Man Community (616, 2500 words) Steve's been married to Tony for years when the Stamford disaster happens and the Superhero Registration Act tears the superhero community apart. When Tony disagrees with Steve, Steve still expects Iron Man to follow him: he's his best friend, for one, and he's chosen to keep his identity a secret from everyone. But Iron Man also fights against him. And then Steve smashes his faceplate open. Strangers Now by FestiveFerret for Cap Iron Man Community (MCU, 7650 words) Back in middle school, Tony Stark was Steve's whole world school until Tony's parents packed up and moved him to LA. Steve Rogers is Going to Hell by ChibiSquirt for Cap Iron Man Community (Ambiguous Universe, 700 words + knitting (photos)) Steve, being an old-timey soldier from before current gender norms, knits. That's... not exactly why he's going to Hell, but the two facts are definitely related. I Can't Exactly Hold Your Hair Back by SirSapling for Cap Iron Man Community (Marvel Ultimates, 4000 words) Steve had never particularly been a person people had turned to for comfort when ill, he mostly just wished people better and went on his way. However, this is Tony, and a sense of obligation wells up within him that he needs to help, but he’s completely lost as to how. won't let it take you from me by navaan for Cap Iron Man Community (Marvel Noir, 2100 words) Tony is injected with the Zemo formula and things don't look good, but Steve doesn't want to give up on him. And when Steve finds out, it happens in the worst way possible. Happenstance and all that by gottalovev for Cap Iron Man Community (MCU, 7400 words) It's been six months since the Battle of New York and Tony is exhausted. A fun Stardew Valley fanfiction I wrote mostly for myself and my friends... wasn’t really planning on posting it but figured why not. I enjoy playing this game so much so why not write about it!
You can read it on Wattpad

Grandfather’s Letter
Uniformity. That was the goal that Joja had set out for themselves when they had started and that was the rule that they had enforced. Each cubicle was sad, grey, and boring. Perfectly reflecting Joja in every way. The only decorations allowed were Joja sponsored posters which had varying logos telling you to smile, and how much better life was with Joja. There was even one of those cheesy motivational posters in the break room with a kitten hanging from a branch telling you to just “hang in there”. Not that anyone was allowed to use the break room. It was just there for show.
It was actually a miracle that Isa and Mey had stumbled across the break room in the first place. They had gotten lost on their way out and discovered it collecting cobwebs and dust. Mey had actually made a joke saying that they were probably only the second people ever to discover this legendary relic. The kitten poster was actually one of the few things of color that seemed to have been allowed in an otherwise monochrome building. Well, the kitten, the green of the giant light that was eternally lit up next to the word “work”, and the flashing red light on the security cameras located above each cubicle. It was great, they didn’t even have to decorate for the Feast of the Winterstar. Having the green and red already spattered throughout the office.
The office was also already decorated for Spirit’s Eve. Two desks in front of Mey was a plastic skeleton slumped over a keyboard. It had been placed there over a year ago, either as a memorial to the employee who had spent two days dead on his desk before someone noticed or as a sick joke. Either way it had yet to be moved. Mey and Isa had dubbed him Paul after the nameplate that had been left on his desk. Not that the nameplate meant anything. Isa had a nameplate on her desk that read “Magret” and Mey’s read “Kyle”. They hadn’t been changed since the original people and after three years in the company a new one wasn’t on the way.
It was another grey day, not that you could really tell from the windowless interior of the room that made up Joja’s work floor. The only evidence that it was late winter were the heavy jackets hung up neatly on the back wall of each cubicle. One of the few perks of working at Joja was that they had heating in the winter and air conditioning in the summer. Some joked that the changing of the air temperature in the building was the only way you could tell the changing of the seasons.
Isa had been staring at her computer screen for hours, like every other day and took a second to readjust her position in her chair so her back didn’t hurt so much. She could hear Mey in the cubicle next to her typing away at her keyboard and the man two rows back pop open yet another Joja cola. She drew a small tally on a sticky note, marking the sixth one that day. A dangerous game to play when bathroom breaks were frowned upon.
Mey pushed back from her desk, standing up and walking around the tall cubicle wall so that she was standing behind Isa. Each box housed an employee and they were built to discourage interaction between coworkers. Mey could care less though, especially when she had spent at least four straight hours entering in price units and keeping track of recent stock.
“Do you have the winter finance report from last year?” She asked Isa, who blinked slowly in reply. She hummed quietly as she opened up drawer after drawer, shuffling through old reports, documents and employee conduct updates. It wasn’t looking good when something caught Mey’s eye.
“Wait! What was that?” Among the black and white army of words and papers a flash of color had piqued Mey’s interest. Isa went back through the files, until a yellowed envelope with a purple seal settled into view.
It brought on an instant feeling of nostalgia between the two women. Recognizing immediately where it was from. Memories of a time before Joja. When university gave them sleepless nights and hope for a bright future. When they vowed never to take a desk job. When they would spend time with their adopted grandfather at the nursing home. They had originally signed up for the volunteer program in their freshman year of college when they still had plenty of free time. Little did they know how attached to the funny and quirky old man at the nursing home they would be. They stayed by his side for the next four years.
It was in their fourth year, only a couple of months before the two friends would be celebrating graduation. Their friend’s health at the nursing home had taken a sharp turn. Both women knew that he had no other family and wanted to be there for him. They passed up on many opportunities in order to be there for him in his last two months, but they regretted nothing.
That was how they had ended up getting their desk jobs at Joja. Joja had scouted them while they were both depressed and in need of a distraction... and a job. It was meant to be temporary, but three years later it was seeming rather permanent.
Then they found the letter. It was working hours. They had already stalled long enough, any longer and someone would come by to remind them of what they were supposed to be doing. However, both seemed to recall the same memory at the same time. An echoing of words… patience… and a burden.
Isa popped the seal, the warm, solid wax splitting from the paper. The blinking red light of the security camera above their heads the furthest thing from their minds. Inside was a carefully written letter in a scrawling, familiar script. Isa looked to Mey before diving into the contents of the letter, ready to see what final wisdom their grandfather wished to impart upon them.
***
“It’s madness! We don’t know the first thing about farming!” Isa argued as her long strides took her through the crowded city streets. Mey was just ahead of her on a warpath to the apartment to see the contents of her own letter.
“Says the girl who fills our apartment with as many plants as she possibly can.” Mey retorted.
“Growing individual plants in pots and hundreds of plants in a field are two very different things.”
“We’ll learn! We can buy books and…”
“You don’t learn how to farm through books! You need a degree! And a mentor! And real life experience!”
“It’s a way out! Don’t you see!” Mey ducked between two businessmen+. Isa had come to a sudden stop behind them and then had to jog to catch up to Mey. Her breath coming out of her mouth in short bursts of fog.
“Can we just... stop for a second? It’s been waiting there for three years, what’s a little longer?” Isa pleaded.
“It can’t wait. Not now that we’ve seen it.”
Mey burst into their tiny apartment, which was filled with more furniture than there was space. This, of course, was saying something as they really didn’t have that much furniture. Isa followed behind Mey, carefully pulling off her toe-pinching heels as she watched Mey run around the apartment looking for where she stashed the letter.
It didn’t take long for her to return triumphantly, letter in hand. It was only then that she hesitated. One hand gripping the letter as the other hovered over the identical purple seal. Isa sighed and placed a hand on her shoulder.
“Well?”
Mey carefully broke open the seal, a tongue of ripped paper sticking to the wax where it had been pulled up. The letter snagged against the envelope as she pulled it out. Unfolding the letter Mey’s eyes hungrily snapped across the rows of text. She had always been a faster reader than Isa.
“It’s the same,” she sighed as her lips turned up into a smile. Mey sat down on the sofa and Isa joined her, holding her own letter next to Mey’s. Each containing the same promise of the inheritance of the Firefly Farm.
“You know for a second I was actually worried that I wasn’t going to be able to go with you. That I was going to be stuck at Joja all alone with this stupid dumbass desk job.”
“You know he wouldn’t do that to you.”
“I know… but that didn’t mean that I was any less… afraid.” Mey looked away from Isa. “We promised that we would never get stuck in this kind of dead end job. How did this happen to us?”
“I… I don’t know. It still feels like yesterday when we signed  those contracts with Joja… and yet at the same times it feels like we’ve been here all our lives.”
“I know we joke about that skeleton in the cubicle over, but Isa… I can’t end up like that. We've worked too hard and gone through too much to just give up.”
“It sounds like you’ve made up your mind…”
“I won’t leave without you, but I just… I just can’t stay here anymore…” Mey sighed heavily.” Isa gave her a small smile in return.
“Okay, then what do we need to do?”
“First we need to check that the will still stands and that we are still able to inherit the estate. Then,” She started, as she got up from the couch to stand up on the coffee table. Isa tried to stop her as it wobbled precariously under her. It was after all, just a cheap ass piece of furniture. “we give that god damn sack of shit Morris, our two weeks!”
“It’s actually Justine now, Morris got shipped off to oversee the opening of a new store remember?”
“Who the fuck cares! We’re outta there!”
***
The rest of the season passed in a flurry in activity. Lawyers were contacted, the will was checked and despite the small hiccup of him referring to them as his granddaughters in the will and them not being his actual granddaughters the matter was quickly resolved. With this knowledge in mind they walked up to their managers Monday morning and handed in their two weeks notice. Rumors quickly spread throughout the office. It was well known that the only way you left Joja was forced retirement or on a stretcher to the morgue. So it was rather astonishing that someone was walking out on their own accord, and not just one person, but two!
In the little free time they had, Isa and Mey sold off most of their furniture in the hopes of having a little more money in their pocket and packed up anything that would fit in their suitcases for the bus ride to Stardew Valley.
They went to the library and rented as many books about farming and gardening as they could, reading late into the night. The information was useful but foreign to them as they learned about different kinds of soil, fertilizer, plants, water and ph levels. So many things to learn and so little time.
The night before it was time to leave, Isa and Mey lay on their floor swaddled in the left over from their old beds duvets. Their minds raced with the impossibility of what they were about to do the next day. When sleep did come it was light and on the edge of waking the entire time.
Before the winter sun had even risen they were up, packing up their blankets and any final belongings that lay scattered on their barren apartment floor. Seeing the empty apartment felt so final. When they had first moved in it had been such an exciting place, now it just felt small and sad.
As they walked the unfamiliar path to the bus terminal their thoughts turned towards their new home. A place they had never seen before. Their grandfather had told them so many stories of his old home. A quaint building with no more space than was necessary and a fireplace big enough to keep the entire place warm in the winter. It was supposed to be akin to a log cabin.
The image created from their memories was fond and warm, but reality added time to the images conjured in their heads and an all too real fear of what state they may find their new home in.
They boarded the bus in silence as the reality of what they were about to do settled in their minds. The quiet hum of conversations between the other passengers filled the otherwise quiet space.
The bus roared to life and pulled away from the station, from the quiet afternoon, and from Zuzu city towards an unknown but all the same exciting future.

10 Years of SteveTony Fic Rec
As I’m sure you all know by now, today (March 14th) is the 10th anniversary of The Confession and the 10th anniversary of the SteveTony ship!
Since my fic wasn’t done in time to post today (homework and midterms are a bitch), and I wanted to post something today for the anniversary of The Confession, I’ve decided to post a fic rec with my all time favorite stevetony fics of all time! Here we go! Hopefully my anniversary fic will be done by tomorrow lol
It’s long, you’ve been warned. Also, this is in no way an exhaustive list of my favs and when I think of more I might add them lol
Blue Lips, Blue Veins by romanoff - Explicit, 300K
Tony Stark is Iron Man.
Before that, he was an man with bigger heart than brain. Before that, he was an asshole with a bigger mouth than sense. And before that, he was was a scared little boy. Not that it matters. Stark's always have had iron in their backbone.
+ This is my absolute favorite fic of all time, honestly. It covers Tony’s entire life, literally from the minute he’s born and it shows, very well I might add, how Tony’s childhood and growing up affecting him mentally, emotionally, and developmentally. Maybe it’s because I’m a psych major at school, but this fic really got me. It is also the fic that started my headcannon of Tony as bipolar 2, and the portrayal of mental illness is so on point and accurate, I love it. It’s an emotional rollercoaster and you’ll cry a lot but it is soooo worth it. This fic is probably one of the best, if not the best Tony-centric and SteveTony fics of all time. I just love it so much.
The Last Love Song of Anthony E. Stark by jibrailis
After contracting an Asgardian virus, Tony starts forgetting things. And people. And Steve.
Winging It by arianapeterson19
The problem was that none of the important things - like life- came with a how-to guide. Everyone was just winging it and Tony wasn't entirely sure if he was okay with that.
Namesake by missbecky
An innocent question leads Steve to look up Edwin Jarvis, the former Stark family butler who gave JARVIS his name, and bring him back to New York to see Tony one last time.
When Life Becomes a Play (and I Don’t Know the Role I’m Cast) by firelord_zutara
Months after the Battle of New York, the team moves into the tower. Tony and Steve keep dancing around each other, but besides his feelings towards the man, Tony has enough to deal with, what with trying to come to terms with himself and his own, personal issues.
He struggles through and through, but in the end, there's only one person who can save him -- the one person he hates the most: himself.
Deep in the Heart of Me by Finely Honed (jaqen_hgar)
There were days when the realization that he was someone’s father made Steve's head hurt, but mostly he was grateful that he could trust his instincts, because apparently Peter was what had been missing from his life. Yes, he still had lingering, unresolved issues from his time in the Army, and sure, he had what Bucky annoyingly referred to as a criminally untapped ass, and no life outside of work and Peter, but Steve was okay with how his life had turned out because of trusting his instincts.
Unfortunately, those same instincts had straight up betrayed him by going absolutely haywire upon being exposed to Tony Stark.
Veteran single dad Steve runs a tattoo shop. For his 40th birthday, Pepper arranges for Tony to get that tattoo he always wanted, and he winds up with the mother of all crushes instead. Jumping out of airplanes is one thing, but falling in love is something else entirely. Steve struggles with the idea of actually letting someone into his life. Tony is left trying to keep his heart from being broken while Steve figures things out.
But Loving Him is Red by theapplepielifestyle
"It is- it is not just destined, Steve Rogers. It will reach through the decades, through entire universes if it has to. It will scour the galaxies without rest until the two of you are standing next to each other. Migardians- Migardians call them soulmates, I believe."
-
Through the decades, through layers of realities, through superheroes and tangles of string- it will always be them.
Tales of the Bots Series by scifigrl47 - 487K
When Tony Stark was seventeen years old, he built his first AI.   On that day, he ceased to be his father's creation, and became a creating force in his own right.
That one act likely saved his life, and not always in the most obvious ways.
You Are My Sunshine by tonystarksnipples
"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are gray. You'll never know dear how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away." Barely a week after he and Steve's wedding, Tony is diagnosed with lung cancer. Both Steve and Tony take it upon themselves to play the optimist, despite their true worry.
Sing the Body Electric by georgygirl - Explicit, 427K
When a well-meaning nutcase from the cosmos determines that Steve and Tony have one of the strongest soul bonds she's ever sensed, she takes it into her own hands to ensure that Steve and Tony are able to have what she believes every soul-bonded couple wishes — and is made — for.
Too bad she doesn't tell Steve and Tony about this before she weaves her little magic spell. Now, Steve and Tony are forced to come to terms with the fact that the week Tony spent as a woman was not as harmless an exercise as they'd originally thought.
And there's no easy way to fix it.
+ It’s actually part of a series, though it can be read as a stand alone technically, but you’ll get a lot more out of it if you read the whole series.
Say When Verse by ann2who - Explicit, 328K
A series rewriting MCU verse, beginning with an alternate version of Iron Man 2, in which, instead of Natasha, Steve got assigned to help Tony while the genius was slowly dying of Palladium poisoning. Continues there in unfolding Steve's and Tony's journey through acceptance, trust, and eventually love.
+ Covers through CACW
Awakenings Verse by Agent_Orange_III, Brooke_Lynn - Explicit, 351K
The Battle of New York is only hours past, but Steve Rogers’ battle to assimilate to his new world has just begun. Steve realizes his frosty existence since his awakening is every bit as debilitating as the Arctic ice he escaped. He sets upon a journey of self-discovery, even as the Avengers make rebuilding what the Chitauri destroyed a priority, encountering notions of friendship, home, family, and love he’d never considered. But Steve is not alone: Despite efforts to deny it, Tony Stark has to face the fact that his heart has awakened as well. Steve manages to rock Tony’s world in ways he’s never imagined possible.
Awakenings details the romantic, heart-warming, and sexy story of Steve and Tony’s emerging relationship. Their transition from teammates to friends to lovers is bumpy yet charming, exasperating and exhilarating. Simultaneously, Phil and Clint’s love overcomes life-threatening obstacles, Thor finds new amusements in his adopted world, and Natasha and Bruce discover unexpected aspects of themselves.
If you enjoy romance, drama, hurt/comfort, hot sex, emotional growth, humor, heroic friendships, camaraderie, and a sweet, new-fashioned wedding, then this might be the story for you.
Before the Darkness Swallows You by Veldeia
 Steve was gone.
Tony was all alone in the dark, the blackness of the damp, rock-walled corridor only occasionally broken by the fluttering fluorescent lamps in the ceiling.
He wasn’t afraid of the dark. An abandoned mine was by no means the scariest environment he’d ended up in. Still, he’d have been crazy not to be afraid of what lurked in these shadows.
Toaster Verse by scifigrl47 - 343K
Steve takes things like personal responsibility and respect seriously.  Tony's got people he pays to take care of that kind of thing, and anyway, he's pretty sure that he's going to die of some exotic disease in his workshop, because Dummy's still a little spotty about what is 'clean' enough to put on an open wound.  The rest of the Avengers are in this for personal gain, except for Clint, he just enjoys being a dick.
And some things shouldn't be a chore.
Saving the World (Is Totally A Date) by Wordsplat
Tony discovers Stane's betrayal while he's still being held captive. When he escapes, he sets out to ruin Stane as completely and ruthlessly as he can, playing up his PTSD and quitting his job to destroy Stane quietly from the outside. He also picks up a teaching job-all Pepper's fault-and oh, right, becomes a supervillain. Okay, that one was Tony's fault, but it was totally an accident.
In the meantime, a certain Capsicle is defrosted a year early, and is assigned the task of capturing the notorious Iron Man. It's not going particularly well, if the embarrassingly high number of times he's been kidnapped in the past six months is any indication. When SHIELD decides to help him "adjust" by getting him a teaching job, Steve is skeptical; but then there's Tony, and Steve finds he doesn't mind the 21st century so much after all.

WoL & More
I'm currently trying to draw all of my Characters, but it's a lot of work and i don't have much time sadly, soooo.... I started writing a little about them. Still not manage to this for everyone, but it will be added soon. <3
Tumblr media
Fine Shadowsong - Warrior of Light & my Main (Chaos/ Phantom)
Fine (pronunciation; Fiene) has a calm, patient character. She learned to take responsibility at an early age when her mother disappeared, leaving her and her little sister Rue behind. She finds it very difficult to show emotions, but would do anything for her loved ones. After her childhood in Garlemald and her confusing teenage years in Ala Mhigo, she escaped to Gridania where she expanded her skills as an archer and eventually transitioned into the teachings of Barde. After the 7th Calamity, she helped rebuild Gridania, but soon felt the need to move on, and eventually landed in Ul'dah where everything began...
Tumblr media
Rue Shadowsong (Light/ Lich)
Goblin Child lmao. After her difficult childhood in Garlemald, comes the even more difficult teenage phase in Gridania. After she and her sister have escaped, she has great problems finding herself. Alcohol and drugs and the one or other theft characterize her youth, until she finally decides to go back to Ala Mhigo where she mainly smuggled spices from Gyr Abania to Ul'dah… and weapons from Ul'dah to Gyr Abania to support the rebels. She is a very sarcastic person who tries to hide her fears and worries mostly with such comments. She is definitely the funniest person in this group and very magically gifted.
Tumblr media
Dianne Winterstar (Aether/ Sargatanas)
Dianne is descended of a former noble family from Ala Mhigo. Her parents were murdered on a diplomatic mission in Garlemald, leaving Dianne on the streets. She did not speak a word for months, so the others even believed that she could not speak at all. After escaping the capital of the Empire, she ended up in Ishgard, where she was able to isolate herself well from the rest of the world. By chance, she met X'rhun Tia, with whom she immediately got along well due to her origins. He showed her the teachings of red magic and pulled Dianne out of her hole. She now travels to unknown places and ruins to practice her mother's old profession as a cartographer, mapping the area.
Tumblr media
Etar Vega (Dynamis/ Halicarnassus)
A Voidsent who was trapped on the Void Ark for centuries. After being freed after such a long time of slavery, he fled far away from the Ark to Coerthas. Due to the Dragonsong War he could do whatever he wanted there and no one noticed. He consumed any aether he could get, both from dragons and Ishgardians or other travelers who happened to be there. He didn't think much about what he was doing, for a long time Etar was just terribly angry at everything and everyone and much too hungry to think clearly. When one day he meets Dianne and had actually chosen her as his next victim. Then by a stupid mistake they were locked in an energy field on Azys Lla and Dianne offered him her aether, because she could not see him suffer. He was so surprised by this action that he decided not to kill her and stays with her for a while.
And my other poor babies are not yet written lmao
Rose Melody (Elemental/ Atomos) Feli (Felicitas) Alani (Primal/ Lamia) Elias (cen) Marcu

Steve And Tony (Stony) (3) Masterlist
Links Last Checked: December 15th, 2023
part one, part two
A Fool's Name For Fate (ao3) - elise_509 E, 71k
Summary: It’s 1949. Hollywood’s system of powerful studios and contract stars is fading fast as a new decade looms. Tony Stark thinks he’s just the type of forward-thinking, madcap genius that can solve the dream factory’s woes, and maybe he can.
If not for a certain distraction named Steve Rogers, the golden boy who should clearly be twenty-feet high on the silver screen yet seems determined to stay hidden behind the scenes. Tony’s used to getting what he wants, but now he’s not sure what that is. Or rather, who that is.
All That's Left (ao3) - Winterstar E,
Summary: In the midst of the civil war, Steve meets Tony at an abandoned hotel.
Celestial Navigation (ao3) - sabrecmc E, 210k
Summary: Celestial Navigation: 18 year old Omega!Tony finds himself Bonded to Captain Steve Rogers. He isn't happy about it until he is.
Coming Home (ao3) - Sonora M, 21k
Summary: When S.H.I.E.L.D. approaches Tony Stark to help with their 1940s deception for Steve Rogers, to be a semi-familiar face and name to help re-introduce him to the world, Tony agrees on one condition - that it's his show to run. And at first, it seems like his plan's going off without a hitch. What he doesn't account for, however, are his own growing feelings for Steve.
Emergency Protocol (ao3) - laireshi T, 7k
Summary: Falling in love with Tony Stark has always been easy. That he's an artificial intelligence now changes nothing. Luckily, Tony will always catch him.
Falling Into You (ao3) - sabrecmc M, 53k
Summary: Tony and Steve end up as fuck buddies after the events of The Winter Soldier until Steve calls it off. When Loki's spell wipes all of Steve's memories since the last time Loki was in town, Tony decides it will be so much easier to just not tell Steve they had something of a relationship. Spoiler: It isn't.
Or, how Steve fell in love with Tony and forgot about it, and how Tony fell in love with Steve and realized it.
Friends with benefits? (ao3) - Hotaru_Tomoe E, 12k
Summary: Five times Steve and Tony have casual sex and avoid having an adult conversation, and one time they don’t.
Good For You (ao3) - orbingarrow T, 41k
Summary: Steve doesn't understand why Tony dates people who abuse him. Tony doesn't understand why Steve cares.
The rest is bad choices, good choices, rehab, milkshakes, paintball, YouTube videos, couples therapy and learning to put the past in the past. Or: How Tony finds his happy ending.
He Blinded Me With Science (ao3) - orbingarrow G, 9k
Summary: The Security Admin Department at Stark Industries has a point system in place to pass the time.
+10 points for tagging management with a "Kick Me" post it note +10 points for paging a punny fake name over the office intercom without getting caught +10 points for stealing any office supplies off Clint's desk and returning it in jello +20 points for making Steve swear
It's a good thing productivity isn't in the job description.
I have kept my feelings to myself (I could find no language to describe them in) (ao3) - theappleppielifestyle G, 9k
Summary: It’s not like Steve is starting from scratch, but nowadays Steve watches Tony almost like he’s studying him, like Tony is one of the paintings he had to write about in art school and Steve is trying to see past the paint.
(Or, Steve and Tony find better ways to communicate.)
many names in history, none of them are ours (ao3) - aubkae E, 42k
Summary: Steve's not sure if he'll ever understand Tony Stark, but it's good, living here. If he still wakes up sometimes convinced this was all a dream, well, it's better than it was before, and that's something, isn't it?
The Avengers live in a world that both glorifies and fears them, but they know each other now behind the scenes.
Mark XXX (ao3) - Robin_tCJ E, 4k
Summary: Oh, look, another filthy, filthy threesome porn. This time, it's Steve/Tony/Iron Man Armour. No plot, mostly porn with a little bit of cracky humour. It's dirty, and I'm sorry.
No I'm not. I'm not sorry. You know what, you're all down here in the muck with me.
me and you +1 (ao3) - samandbucky N/R, 4k
Summary: Steve discovers that he's pregnant after the events of Civil War, but he doesn't get a chance to tell Tony because Team Cap is currently in hiding, and Steve can't risk calling Tony and getting the others in trouble. Steve is trying to get through the pregnancy, but it's hard when he doesn't have Tony around. He's grateful for Natasha and Sam's support, but it's not the same.
Never Eye To Eye (ao3) - vorkosigan M, 26k
Summary: After the Civli War, the Avengers were back together.
How is everything going, Tony? Pepper had asked in her email. It's fine (Tony had written back). I'm fighting with Steve all the time. Everything is going to hell. I'm okay (you know I'm always okay).
(Or: How Tony and Steve learned to be a bit gentler with each other)
Never Too Late for Love (ao3) - Sineala E, 98k
Summary: Steve has always believed that a soulbond is a blessing -- a rare and beautiful miracle, joining the thoughts and feelings of two people forever, from the first time they touch. Steve knows he's not going to be one of the lucky ones. He knows Gail isn't his soulmate. But he loves her, even if they're not soulmates, and he's going to do right by her. After the war's over, he's going to marry her, and they're going to settle down. They'll buy a house. They'll have children. He'll see his family again. Maybe Bucky will live next door. It's going to be a good life. He doesn't need a soulbond. He'll be fine without one.
Then Steve wakes up sixty years in the future to find that his wonderful life has moved on without him. His family is long dead. His fiancée married his best friend. And the only purpose he has left is leading the Ultimates, a misbegotten team of superheroes with flaws too numerous to count. Steve hates everything about the future -- but most of all he detests Tony, flashy and flirtatious, who embodies everything Steve hates about a world he never wanted to live in.
And, oh, yeah, Steve has a soulmate after all: Tony fucking Stark.
The Long Road Home (ao3) - ladyshadowdrake T, 47k
Summary: Maria Stark told her son that the Mark on his wrist meant there was a special someone out there just for him. Sarah Rogers told her son that his soulmate was waiting for him, and he needed to be strong for them.
Neither of them ever mentioned what to do if that soulmate just doesn’t want them.
Think of This as Solving Problems (That Should Never Have Occurred) (ao3) - Sineala T, 35k
Summary: No one knows Tony is Iron Man. Then Tony gets amnesia, and literally no one knows Tony is Iron Man.
voglio sentirti (ao3) - lackluster_lexicon E, 4k
Summary: Steve returns to Stark Tower ten months after leaving Tony in Siberia.
(what is hate) but jilted love (ao3) - LemonGrenade E, 27k
Summary: After a messy mission, Tony winds up injured and unfit for duty. To keep the press and anyone else overly interested in the current post-Accords Avengers unaware, Tony elects to hide from the public eye at his cabin in the Canadian wilderness. His plan is simple: lay low and work on his projects until he's recovered enough to make it back.
And then Steve shows up.

Steve/Tony Fic Recs: Soulmates (Part 2)
Here you go guys, more soulmate fics to enjoy!!
Here’s Part 1 of soulmate recs for your reference :)
Remember to leave kudos and comments for your hard-working authors!
To Strike A Match by 51stCenturyFox:  The marks that appeared on nearly every human one day weren’t very obvious -- a pattern resembling the whorl of a fingerprint and almost as unique, on the inner wrist, tinted the color of coal-black ink. Almost as unique, because everyone was supposed to have a match somewhere on earth, and when the match was found, with a solid press of bared wrist to wrist, mark to mark, the pattern disappeared.
Communication and the Lack Thereof by AetherSprite (AranthianPrincess):
An inconsequential touch during the attack on the Helicarrier is all it takes to send both Steve and Tony's lives spiraling out of control. While one tries to bury the truth, the other will stop at nothing to uncover it. And, while they have their own private battle of wills, a new supervillain is leading the Avengers on a merry chase.
Love is a wish your disgruntled (future) boyfriend makes by shetlandowl (@shetlandowl):
Tony wakes up to a world he doesn't recognize, to a life he doesn't want, with someone he really can't stand. How much worse could it possibly get?
In All the World by wallhaditcoming: In a world where Sentinels, people with five heightened senses, bond mentally and spiritually with Guides, people gifted with empathetic powers, Tony Stark has spent thirty-three years overwhelmed by the emotions of those around him and running from his own.
Sentinel Steve Rogers wakes up sixty years out of his own time and struggles to deal with the massive amount of new sensory input while trying to find his footing in a New York very different from the one he knew. When they finally find each other, how will their bond change them?
Afterheat by Jay Tryfanstone (tryfanstone): Steve's tucked up in bed with the radio and a book, the lights dimmed and the moon shining in through the blinds, when sudden as an air-raid siren he hears an unearthly yowl....
After All by MusicalLuna (@musicalluna): The voice in Tony's head is not his own.
Time Bomb by Winterstar: Soulmates might be the way for the universe to balance itself out, but Steve and Tony aren’t sure about the end result.
Home (Is Wherever I'm With You) by wolfstarheart: Tony Stark's timer was stuck at zero. Tony Stark didn't have a soulmate. At least, that's what he thought. Then Steve woke up.
There Is What I Believe (And Then There Is You) by Pandemic:
Tony knows, when he’s beaten and bloody on the locker room floor watching Steve through the eye not crusted over with blood, that he will never love anyone as fiercely as he does Steve Rogers.
Stand Back, I'm Going To Try Science by Good_News_Everyone:
Soulmates are a rare and cherished thing, a simple touch of hands bringing love that lasts forever. By all the rules of romance, they're meant to wait for each other and to trust in the vagaries of fate to bring them together.
Tony's never been good at waiting, and when he has science on his side, who needs fate? (IM:AA)
Home by america_chavez: Tony then promised himself he would find his soulmate, even if it took him 70 years. He didn’t want to turn out like Howard, unhappy and bitter for the rest of his life. He would find the one meant to be with him. He would find home.AU where everything is black and white until you meet your soulmate. (AA)
The Truth of It Is by nightwalker (@onemuseleft): You can't lie to your soulmate, everyone knows that. Tony's always thought it was just hype until he tries to sass Steve and the words freeze in his throat. (616)
Amor Fati by citsiurtlanu: Tony Stark has always known what the words on his wrist are supposed to lead to. What he's never known is who the words are for. 616 soulmate AU.  (616)
love and other lies by laireshi (@laireshi): “You can lie to me,” Steve notes very carefully.“That doesn't mean I don't lo—” Tony stops himself.
love will tear us apart by laireshi (@laireshi): Soulmates don't exist.
The Words Don't Matter (We Break Them Anyway Remix) by laireshi:
I remember falling in love with you. I remember waiting for you. I remember the first time I saw you.
Not: I remember what you've done to me, I remember the unforgivable.
colours by laireshi (@laireshi): Steve draws in charcoal, sometimes thinking of how it would be to see colours. Everyone’s heard the legends, myths, stories; every person who’s found their soulmate has exclaimed in wonder, looking around. But it’s not something that could be described.
He doesn't see it for himself, not until he meets Iron Man.
polychrome (the world revolves around an axis remix) by magicasen (@einheriar):
Tony doesn't see colors until he meets Captain America.
Slipping off the Page into Your Hands by Sineala (@sineala):
Soulmates have their first words to each other written on their wrists. This should make it easy. For Steve and Tony, it is anything but. Steve's problem is that the future he has awoken into is nothing he was ever expecting: he has a soulmate now. Who might be a robot. And if his soulmate is Iron Man, how can he be so attracted to Tony Stark? It should be impossible. Tony's problem is that he is Iron Man, his soulmate is a man whom he in no way deserves, and he is going to fight everything in his heart and do his best to make sure Steve never, ever finds out the whole truth.
Follow in Your Footsteps by Sineala (@sineala): When Tony is twelve, his soulmate's name appears on his wrist. Unfortunately, it's hard to find out anything at all about Steve Rogers.
It turns out there's a reason for that. (616)
Nothing Else but Miracles (An Ancient Secrets and New-born Dreams Remix) by Muccamukk (@muccamukk):
In the rough and tumble of the Lower East Side, the only constants in Steve's life are the solid black letters of the name on his wrist. Because even with the law and society against them, his world falling apart piece by piece, and his search for his soulmate taking him to stranger and wilder places, Steve has faith that finding Tony Stark is only a matter of time. (616)
Do It Over by Sineala (@sineala): The last words your soulmate says to you are written on your skin, and you won't know who they are until they die.
The thing is, Steve and Tony die a lot. (616)
Never Too Late for Love by Sineala (@sineala):
Steve has always believed that a soulbond is a blessing -- a rare and beautiful miracle, joining the thoughts and feelings of two people forever, from the first time they touch.
(Ults)
multiverse steve/tony soulmate au by @theappleppielifestyle:
Tony goes over the data eight times before he lets himself think it, and then goes over the data another four times to get the courage to tell Steve about it.
Over and over, in too many forms to count, Tony watches versions of Tony Stark and Steve Rogers fall for each other. It doesn’t end well sometimes, it doesn’t start well almost all the time, and no matter the version there’s always an abundance of screaming arguments, but there’s- there’s always love between them, always overwhelming and always happening, no matter the circumstances.
your words are the last words you say to your soulmate by @theappleppielifestyle:
It’s always seemed cruel, to Steve: the fact they’d only know someone was their soulmate at the very last second, if at all.
'fuck off' in block capitals as their words by @theappleppielifestyle:
Tony is minding his own damn business when a blond bombshell walks into the coffee shop and starts ordering just as Tony’s finishing his latte.
From the back he doesn’t seem like much, bean-pole skinny, dangerously skinny, the kind of thin that makes Tony distantly think about the guy being malnourished. His hair is messy, his clothes are cheap and wrinkled-
Then the guy turns around with his weirdly big hands around a takeaway coffee and Tony thinks whoa, eyes.
the voice in your head is your soulmate’s by @theappleppielifestyle:
Tony is forty-three, tired, in a business meeting and bored out of his mind when a voice vertebrates through his head, panic and shock griefgriefgrief bleeding through: I had a date.
matching soulmate marks by @theappleppielifestyle:
When Tony sees it, he drops his damn coffee.
Steve jumps at the noise, whirling around and frowning when he sees it’s just Tony with a broken mug on the floor, coffee spilling in all directions.
soulmate au where first skin contact burns by @theappleppielifestyle:
Tony’s never understood it: the first touch of a soulmate would burn the both of you. He understands, conceptually, that it’s the permanence of it- burns turn to scaring, it means that their touch is seared into your skin forever, but Tony never got why it had to be a burn, let alone one deep enough to scar permanently.
heterochromia soulmate au by @theappleppielifestyle:
A lot of people have blue eyes.
His mother tells him this, hand too tight on his shoulder as Tony watches his father storm back down to his workshop.
seeing the world in black/white soulmate au by @theappleppielifestyle:
The first colours Steve ever sees are the Iron Man colours, glossy red and gold, and Steve hears himself gasp, hears Iron Man’s modulated voice say, “Oh.”
Iron Man’s gauntlets shake as he takes off his helmet, and Steve blinks hard and the he’s looking into brown eyes, somehow more startling than the bright colours of the Iron Man suit.
soulmates are seen as a curse by @theappleppielifestyle:
He had asked his Ma once, before her hair had started falling out, why it was considered a bad thing, and she had hesitated, her gaze falling on the ever-covered name on his arm.
“The thing about soulmates is it can either go very, very well or very, very badly,” she had said eventually, her hands on his shoulders. “It can- Steve, big things happen, with soulmates. World-changing things, always. Together, soulmates can- they either break the world, or build it better than it ever was. But people are so used to the first that they daren’t hope for the latter, we’ve had too many-”
soulmates switch bodies for a day by @theappleppielifestyle:
Tony wakes up to the sound of someone banging on the door, and he’s halfway through groaning ‘fuck off’ when he realizes his voice isn’t his voice and it’s his birthday, he’s eighteen today, and that means he’s switched with his soulmate when they’re eighteen-
He bolts upright in bed, and a weirdly familiar voice on the other side of the door yells, “COME ON AND OPEN UP, I HAVE FIVE BUCKS ON WHETHER YOU’RE A BEAUTIFUL DAME OR NOT,” and Tony spares a look down his soulmate’s body, which, wow, thin, and very male, Howard will not be pleased- before going and opening the door.
soulmates have numbers counting down on their wrists by @theappleppielifestyle:
Tony’s number has been zero, has always been a zero and has never changed from that. A lot of people have zeroes from birth, but red numbers usually appear sometime during their childhood, the numbers blinking hotly into existence meaning their soulmate has been born.
handwriting on your skin soulmate au by @lightshadowverisimilitude:
Tony had been writing on his skin his entire life. Sure, most people wrote on themselves occasionally, just to see if someone would write back. Tony had started doing it mostly to tick Dad off, but he’d found that it was a surprisingly good medium for record-keeping.
When he was seven, he’d taken a sharpie to the inside of his left forearm and wrote Are you there?
“you have a black stain where your soulmate is supposed to touch you for the first time and it turns to millions of colors once they do” au by @goodmorningbeloved:
There are hand-shaped marks inked into Tony’s waist, pinky-to-thumb with a brush of the palms. He doesn’t realize the implications of this until his first time with someone, and it’s messy and imperfect and unmemorable but they get him on all fours and grip his waist for leverage.
The contact sends a jolt of panic through Tony, and he’s shoving them off and scrambling to the bathroom before his partner can blink.
Growth by @lackofcooperation: Pepper’s tattoo is on her hip. Well, the one that isn’t faded yet. There are five dull, grey ones scattered across her body, seemingly random and different in shape and size, but what do they matter? They’re done.  It’s over.
The only one she looks at these days are the sunglasses on her hip. They’re big. Obnoxiously big and shiny and she knows who they’re for, of course she knows.

Fics over 50k words.
My Son, My Sun by Wordsplat | T | 70k | superfamily
Just before the events of Iron Man, a baby is left on Tony's doorstep. He wants nothing to do with it at first, but his time in Afghanistan changes his mind and Tony vows to become a better man for his son's sake.
I (created from fantasies) exist solely for you by Mizzy | T | 62k | comicbook office!au
Six years ago, without the Avengers Initiative there to save the day, scientist Dr. Eric Selvig sacrificed himself to save the world, the almighty demi-god Thor was lost to a terrible storm, and vigilante Iron Man – spotted with a nuclear weapon trying to take advantage of the situation – was forever labelled an enemy of SHIELD.
This is a comic book office AU, where Steve is defrosted a year too late, Thor has forgotten who he is, and no one knows Tony is Iron Man.
Also includes: office pranks, inappropriate post-it notes, and superheroes who like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain
The Ghosts of War by scifigrl47 | M | 60k | historical!AU
Steven Rogers never wanted to be king, but he knows his duty, and he does it well. Lord Tony Stark, the king's appointed consort, does his duty as well, even though he'd enjoy his duty more if it actually involved sleeping with the king. As it doesn't, he's just resigned. The war that made Steve king and cost him nearly everything may be over, but a meeting of old enemies might stir up some ghosts none of them are prepared for.
Truth Behind Masks by scifigrl47 | M | 98k | identity porn
Steve Rogers has plenty of friends. He just doesn't know two of them are the same man.
That's just how Tony Stark/Iron Man likes it. Until he comes to regret it.
One More Troubled Soul ♥ by sara_holmes | various | 61k | wintersoldier!steve
And Tony realizes that working out who the Winter Soldier used to be and who he is now are two entirely different things.
Slipping off the Page into Your Hands by Sineala | E | 68k | soulmates!au
Soulmates have their first words to each other written on their wrists. This should make it easy. For Steve and Tony, it is anything but. Steve's problem is that the future he has awoken into is nothing he was ever expecting: he has a soulmate now. Who might be a robot. And if his soulmate is Iron Man, how can he be so attracted to Tony Stark? It should be impossible. Tony's problem is that he is Iron Man, his soulmate is a man whom he in no way deserves, and he is going to fight everything in his heart and do his best to make sure Steve never, ever finds out the whole truth.
I wanted to fix this (but couldn't stop from tearing it down) by missbecky | E | 50K
A visit from a Reed Richards from a parallel world convinces Tony and Steve that they must do whatever they can to prevent their world from falling into Civil War. They can save the world…but at what cost to themselves?
Like Coming Home by missbecky | M | 75K | universe crossover, 616
After a tragic accident, Steve is given a chance to go back in time and deliver a warning to Tony in the hope of avoiding their fate. Something's gone wrong, though, because this is not his world he's ended up in. And that is definitely not his Tony who's planning to delete his own brain.
Sometimes your second chance isn't at all what you were expecting.
Stay With Me (home is where your mind is.) ♥ by sara_holmes | M | 67k | multiverse
Where Steve doesn’t quite die, ends up stranded in the multiverse and would quite like to know how the hell so many versions of himself ended up sleeping with Tony Stark. Well, that’s going to make things a tad awkward when he gets home.
Relativistic Heat Conduction ♥ by BlossomsintheMist | E | 69k | AOU, H/C
Age of Ultron-based, but not entirely canon compliant. Written for the 2013 Cap-Iron Man Reverse Big Bang. Ultron has attacked, obliterating most of the world's superheroes and resistance in a matter of hours. The remaining heroes band together and share what strength they have to get through it, to survive, and defeat Ultron once and for all. Steve Rogers grieves in the wake of the disaster and the heroes' defeat, and no one knows if he will be able to provide the leadership they need--but Tony Stark isn't about to let him slip away that easily.
If We Never Got This Second Chance ♥ by Pookaseraph | M | 50k | time travel, superfamily
When Tony and Steve’s son from the future, Jake Jensen, arrives at Avenger’s Tower, the two of them are forced to confront some hard truths: Tony that he might not actually become a horrible father, and Steve that he might not be able to set aside his discomfort with sharing a child with another man. When they both get a second chance at a first try at fatherhood, it’s up to the two of them to learn from their own future's past.
His Fate Will Be Unlearned by scifigrl47 | M | 94k | canon divergence
Tony Stark spent his childhood making weapons, filling the hole his father left in the world when he succumbed to alcohol, grief, and his own demons. At the age of fifteen, he ran away from home, and made it as far as MIT before all of his responsibilities caught up to him. Now seventeen, he just wants to finish his degree and escape from everything connected to the Stark name.
Steve Rogers crashed into the icy North Atlantic in the 1940's, sacrificing himself to save the world. He never expected to wake up, and now that he has, he's not sure he's glad. The US Army has other plans for him, but for now, Steve is slowly learning to live life in the 21st century, and taking classes at Boston College. He's beginning to suspect that there is no escape.
Boston College is on the T's Green Line. MIT is on the Red. The two lines meet at the Park Street Station, and so will Steve and Tony.
This time tomorrow (where were we?) by dorcas_gustine | E | 85k | Marvel 616
Tony goes to see Wanda, and suddenly Steve is alive and there are Skrulls! Or maybe Tony is just going crazy. Nothing happens in this fic, until the very end. Seriously. There's a lot of talking, mostly at inopportune moments, Tony's views on the acceptable gifts to give people are slightly different from everyone else's and he spends more time than would seem necessary being (half-)naked. What else is new?
And We Are Giants by CapsicleRogers | M | 68k | pacificrim!au
When Captain Steve Rogers wakes from an injury-induced coma, a lot has changed in the battle against the Kaiju. There are new Jaegers with new pilots, new advances in the study of the beasts, even new rules in the Shatterdome. It’s starting to seem like they’re finally ready to defeat the monsters once and for all, but first Steve must learn to get along with his new team of pilots. Especially the troublesome Tony Stark, who’s proving to be harder to deal with than the Kaiju problem itself.
Upon Waking by Winterstar  | E | 80k | serious injury, PTSD, angst
Fics over 100k words
Say When Verse ♥ series (9 works) by ann2who | E | 328k | MCU
A series rewriting MCU verse, beginning with an alternate version of Iron Man 2, in which, instead of Natasha, Steve got assigned to help Tony while the genius was slowly dying of Palladium poisoning. Continues there in unfolding Steve's and Tony's journey through acceptance, trust, and eventually love.
In Which Tony Stark Builds Himself Some Friends (But His Family Was Assigned by Nick Fury)  ♥ series (7 works) by scifigrl47 | various | 343k | MCU
Blue Lips, Blue Veins by romanoff | E | 300k | growing up, friends to lovers, slowburn
Tony Stark is Iron Man.
Before that, he was an man with bigger heart than brain. Before that, he was an asshole with a bigger mouth than sense. And before that, he was was a scared little boy. Not that it matters. Stark's always have had iron in their backbone.
Will of Iron, Heart of Glass ♥  series (3 works) | M | 104k | AI!tony
Tony has been held by Stane since his escape from Afghani terrorists, marked dead in the eyes of the world while Stane is free to use his mind, inventions, and company as he sees fit. Tony feels there's nothing he can do and has resigned himself to death to save those he loves. That would be when JARVIS lets Captain America stumble into his old lab.
Steve has been wandering Avengers Mansion in the steps of a ghost, seeing empty spaces, and recurring oddities that mean nothing to anyone but him. He doesn't know who left them, or why the ghost lingers. It isn't even until he enters a dusty lab that things start to fall into place as he meets Anthony, a computer program named for its creator Anthony Stark.
Deep in the Heart of Me ♥ by Finely Honed (jaqen_hgar) | E | 257k | modern/non-power!au, ptsd, parent!steve
A Higher Form of War ♥ by sabrecmc | M | 292k | historical/royalty!au
Tony is a King with a surprising number of people out to kill him. Steve and the rest of the Avengers are fighting for Pierce's rebellion and end up with Tony as their prisoner. Oops.
Basically one of those bodice-ripping romance novels I don't read (ahem) but with far more gay.
The Captain and His Courtesan by Winterstar | E | 189k | space au
A story of revolution.Captain Steve Rogers is just trying to pay off his debt to SHIELD, carting cargo from the Rim worlds to the Inner Belts in his bucket of bolts ship, the Howling Commando. He keeps a low profile and makes sure his crew is safe and happy. But the universe has a different plan for the once highly decorated Captain of the Honor Guard. The universe drops a Courtesan by the name of Tony Stark into his life. The Captain doesn't like it, but Bucky convinces him that providing transport to the most elusive Courtesan in the Guild could be their ticket to freedom. His crew from the engineer with anger management issues to the pilot who may be a beautiful but deadly assassin wants him to take the commission. What ends up being a simple commission puts his crew in jeopardy and could change all of humanity, because the Courtesan is not really just a pretty face and the Captain of the Honor Guard can fall in love far too easily with a man of conviction - and Tony Stark is a man of conviction.
Newborn series by Ilerre | M | 109k | infidelity, body modification, read all warnings
It all started when they stopped trusting each other.
Power and Paradox by The_Kinky_Pet | E | 221k - WIP | MCU set in BDSM verse
“Billionaire, genius, engineer, philanthropist, submissive.  Yeah, submissive.  Any questions?”
OR
Yet another BDSM-AU.
The Limitations of Wax ♥ by RayShippouUchiha | M | 175k - WIP | MCU with fem!toni
So Jarvis is the one who pulls her up onto her feet, presses a tool into one hand and a book into the other and tells her to create. Tells her that if the numbers and the shapes and images in her mind hurt so bad then she should build them, should give them form so that they can finally leave her alone.
Jarvis is the one who finally teaches her how to breathe.
Or
Toni Stark grows up with the tale of Icarus swirling in the back of her mind. Instead of taking it as a precautionary tale about hubris and overreaching she decides it's more about the limitations of wax.
Years later when she builds herself wings of her own she makes sure to build them out of better material.
Go Ugly Early by just_another_tinker | E | 156k - WIP | mob!au
He’s The Captain?
This was not good. This was so not good.
There were theories of course, of what The Captain would look like. Most followed the typical Hollywoodesque belief that he was some version of the Godfather, sitting in a dark room with a cigar, commanding his forces with a flick of his wrist. There were even some that even thought that The Captain was not one person, but a whole network of people with eyes and ears everywhere.
The blonde Adonis in front of him was definitely not what Tony was expecting.
Of course, in the end it didn’t matter.
There was a reason no one knew what The Captain looked like.
Because anyone who saw his face never lived to tell the tale.
Sins of Omission by Kiyaar | E | 155k - WIP | dark, torture, skrulls (be warned: this hasn’t been updated since 2013)
A Post-Civil War, Pre-Secret Invasion AU where Steve is dead, Tony's a mess, and everything sucks.
In which Tony deals poorly with Steve's death, falls off the wagon, sees ghosts, and misses a lot.
Oh, and the Skrulls are about to invade.
Indelible ♥ by Penumbren | various | 104k | dimension travel - marvel noir/616
When an experiment goes awry, Tony thinks he may have found an answer to his problems and Steve faces something he's been avoiding for a very long time.
Pulse, Beat, and Measure ♥ by Sineala | E | 134k | hero worship, marvel noir/616
Two men. Two worlds. Life during wartime.
Holding Out for a Hero ♥ by Wordsplat | T | 100k | medieval au
When Tony was a prince and Steve was his manservant, they were young and reckless and hopelessly in love. But an attack on Tony's life convinces Steve that he can't protect Tony, so he leaves in the dead of night to train until he can. Ten years later, Steve returns to the kingdom a strong and able knight, but his king is both furious and broken-hearted.
Proof Positive by MegaraNoelle | T | 362k | superfamily, getting together
Tony is no stranger to paternity claims from his female conquests, there's a system in place for them. But when one of the tests actually comes back positive, he makes a rash decision to not tell anyone about it, not even Pepper Potts. All Mary Parker wants is for Tony to spend a little time with their son. Tony has a lot to think about in his life now, how he wants to run his company, how his life is going to change with the arc reactor, and what he's going to do about his son, Peter. Then, the Avengers Initiative pops up, and in waltzes his childhood hero, and enemy, Captain America.
It's All in the Mind (14 works) by inukagome15 | T | 332k | MCU verse mutant!tony
The adventures of Tony as a mutant; how he learned to accept himself and his subsequent growth into his own. Hijinks ensue.
