🌍✨ A Voice from Gaza: Fighting for Hope ❤️🩹
Hi, my name is Mosab , and I’m from Gaza. Life here has been harder than I could ever imagine, but today I’m sharing my story with hope in my heart, because your kindness has already given us so much strength.
This journey hasn’t been easy. The war has taken 25 family members from us—25 beautiful souls we loved deeply. Their laughter, their presence, their love… all of it is gone, leaving behind memories that are both precious and painful. Every day, I carry the weight of their loss, but I also carry their spirit, which gives me the strength to keep going.

Our Journey So Far
When I first reached out, I couldn’t have imagined we’d make it this far. Your support has been a light in these difficult times, and we are so deeply grateful for every single contribution.
But the road ahead is still challenging. Every day, we’re reminded of how much we’ve lost and how much we still need to rebuild.
Here’s what life in Gaza looks like for my family right now:
🏠 Safety: The uncertainty of tomorrow weighs heavily on us.
😢 Loss: The absence of the 25 family members we’ve lost is a pain we carry every moment.
💔 Dreams on Hold: The future feels so far away when survival takes all our strength.
How You Can Help Us Cross the Finish Line Even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference:
$5 may seem small, but for us, it’s a little relief, a moment of comfort, and a reminder that kindness still exists. ❤️
Can’t donate? Reblog this post to help us reach someone who can. Every share matters more than you know.
✅️ Vetted by @gazavetters ( #309 ) ✅️
Why Your Support Matters Your kindness isn’t just about helping us meet our goal—it’s about reminding us that we’re not alone in this fight. It’s about hope. It’s about survival. And it’s about giving my family a chance to rebuild our lives, even in the face of unimaginable loss.
Thank you for helping us get this far. Your generosity and compassion have already brought us closer to a better tomorrow, and for that, I’m endlessly grateful.
With all my love and gratitude,
Mosab and Family ❤️

A Spell for Every Mood
Tiny spells crafted for every feeling — a charm for when you’re overwhelmed, a blessing for when you’re hopeful, a whisper of magic for when you don’t know what you need.
Let these words wrap around your mood like a second skin, soft or sharp, healing or wild.
• Overwhelmed:
“With breath steady and mind clear, I untangle the threads of chaos around me.”
• Hopeful:
“I plant my wishes in the rich soil of tomorrow; may they bloom without fear.”
• Vengeful:
“By mirror and thorn, let justice find its sharpest path.”
• Lonely:
“I weave a silver thread from heart to heart, unseen but unbroken.”
• Joyful:
“With every step I take, may the earth hum with laughter under my feet.”
• Anxious:
“I press my hand to my chest and anchor myself to the steady pulse of the earth.”
• Grieving:
“I offer my sorrow to the river, trusting it will carry it somewhere softer.”
• Inspired:
“I strike a flint in the dark, and welcome the fire of new creation.”
• Tired:
“I drape the night’s velvet over my shoulders and surrender to its quiet magic.”

a reminder that the trees you grew up with have not forgotten you and the way your feet padded along the ground.
the breeze that sweeps through the foliage once swept through your hair and between your fingers.
the moon has not forgotten you, in fact she still watches over you during the night.

I will add:
- Building a regular practice will do more for you than trying to do a complicated spell every [insert significant date here]. You'll do it more often and won't burn out. And it'll help you get a feel for how and when to actually do those bigger workings effectively.
- Cast a damn circle. I don't care about the specifics of how you do it, but cast a circle. This does a couple of things: it limits the space you're trying to energise (much less taxing to do a circle around you than an entire room/field/whatever), it acts as a barrier to keep whatever you don't want in there out (which means it's easier to do whatever you're doing because tbe intent and working is concentrated), and it'll help you not bleed all *your* energy out during or after you've done the thing. Plus it helps you get into the right heads pace, which is more important than a lot of people will tell you.
- Meditation and breathwork do not just have to be you sitting cross legged on a stool in silence. Do what works for you. The point is to work on quieting your mind. If music, or prayer beads, or whatever else helps you do that, go ahead and use it.
- On a related note: quieting your mind doesn't actually mean telling every thought to shut up and trying to ignore them all. That doesn't work. Concept that helped me: your thoughts and your emotions are not *you*. You are the observer who sees/feels/etc them. So practice noticing they're there first (involves grounding), name them (preferably out loud: it feels stupid but it'll make them less slippery), see what they have to tell you, and then let them pass. If there's a particular image or breath pattern you find useful in doing this, use it.
- The most important thing you van do is find a way of practicing and doing things that has meaning to you. Not just "oh I like how this tradition does this, I'm going to use that bit", but things that feel *right* in your gut. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you will when you feel it. This involves doing research. And genuinely, if you're working with energies and spirits and magic, it's a really good idea to be respectful of other spirits and traditions: don't poke things that are not yours or you have not been initiated in, you don't know what will poke back and how peeved it will be.
- The research is in fact fascinating (although I wouldn't suggest wandering into the academic Freya/Frigg discourse unless you're really interested: there are no solid answers but everyone is mad about it). But don't just research pantheons and spirits. They're the concept everyone *wants* to focus on, but you will get further if you focus on practices and techniques instead. Not just spell ingredients, but how people connect with the divine and how they move energy around (I would suggest taking a tai chi class, if you're paying attention you can feel the energy you're moving as you go through the motions, it's super cool). Also make sure you don't get all of your information about a thing from one source: check what different people (preferably ones with some kind of experience) have to say. A good resource for things like "how did people before us practice" is JSTOR: the academic articles can be dense reading for sure but you'll get fascinating little tidbits you won't get anywhere else. There are also some really excellent witching podcasts out there. I'd recommend the Antlered Crown, as not only do they discuss a lot of technique stuff, they also interview other practitioners who practice in very different ways.
- Hand me downs, inherited things, recycled things, and things you have made will always be better for workings and altars than bought things. They have more meaning and energy attached usually. I'm not saying you can't buy things, but I am saying that using the mugs I inherited from my grandmother to do morning coffee offerings has far more meaning for me than if I used a mug I had bought at TK Maxx or something. Try not to fall into the witchy capitalism trap.
...I was not intending to write an essay this morning. Oops.
Some little things I've learned over a decade of witchcraft:
If you are feel called to work but are tired/drained, sit outside. Take in all the energies around you. Nature can help charge you
Every witch does a little bit of a bunch of types of magic but sticks mainly to one or two in general. You usually won't be eclectic forever. You'll find what magics work best with you.
Never be lazy or cut corners with spirits. Always be respectful and always tell them to leave when you're done
When you see a plant or ingredient with a long list of properties, there are different things at play. Season of collection, the part of the plant, the health of the plant, etc all play a role in impacting which properties it will carry.
Don't call on spirits unless you have confidence and control
Be careful with sea/water magic. Get into it gently and slowly until you have the energy figured out because it can get out of hand quickly.
Adding a little pinch of magic into your breakfast can make a major difference in your day.
Your personal emotions/feelings over something will impact a work
Planting some plants is good, not only to have a garden, but the dirt helps cleanse you too. Get all dirty and muddy. It's good for ya
Not all trees are nice
The more you listen to your intuition, the easier it will be to tell it apart from your anxieties and worries
Incense is very easy to make which is why it's usually cheap to buy. But you can find a million tutorials online on how to make your own personal incense which is great if you want a spell to take effect over a while but also want to infuse the fire energy in it.
The more you work with something the better feel you get for it. Cinnamon goes in almost everything i cook and most of my spells because me and cinnamon just get right along
Your path is yours and no one else's. It will look like yours and no one else's

Reminder that even if a religion is open, it can still be appropriated and bastardised.
You can't just cherry pick and choose titles, practices, deities from different practices/religions you think sound cool to use however you like without any understanding or respect towards the cultural/historical/religious context.
