Venmara carefully followed the strange claw marks in the trees and dirt. The sun shined brightly during the chilly fall day, keeping her warm enough.

She slowly followed the marks to a cave, frowning. 'A troll must have taken shelter here for the day. I wonder if they're alright?' She thought.

She shined her light into the darkness of the cave, listening closely. She could hear faint breathy.

Venmara slowly made her way inside, keeping her light on. The breathing got louder and louder until her light shined on dark black rocks.

The troll flitched and stood, well, sat up would be a better term, the cave barely being big enough for Venmara to stand at full height.

It's red and yellow eyes watched her cautiously, growling. Venmara slowly shined her light over it, noting the several wounds and cracks.

"Jeez... what happened...?" She mumbled.

"None of your concern, human." He spat back.

She blinked. He couldn't tell? Oh well, the fewer people, or trolls, that knew of her true nature, the better.

"Well, I'm making it my concern. Looks like you barely escaped daylight." He hissed, glancing away. "Look. I don't live far, and I have a basement. As long as you don't break anything, you can stay there until you're healed. Think about it, and I'll come back later tonight." She said, turning and leaving.

I had to admit defeat, I don’t really know where I wanted to take this, but it’s cute and I AM happy with the angles on El’s head +hands and Annie’s content face.

So Blue and Yellow I don’t write taking place in a particular year but just for this current event, it’s 16 years since they met since, as my OCs, I’ve had them for 16 years (So this would put Blue at 31 and Yellow at 32).  Didn’t think too much about it, just that Yellow gets some facial hair and Blue is devastated by the news.

Gonna post some old sketches.  This is from that one AU where if you write anything on your body, it shows up in the same place as your soulmate.

Blue and Yellow are precisely the kind of idiots who don’t realize it until after like a year of knowing each other and trying to convince themselves their soulmates are most likely to be a non-romantic sort so they can feel okay asking each other out without worrying either of them will inevitably leave for their soulmate.

Blue has a chatty soulmate so he writes where they don’t (back of the knees, back of the neck, on the face) with a UV marker.  So they figure it out playing laser tag when Blue sees a tag on the back of Yellow’s neck and they are, in polite terms, “escorted off the premises” when they make a scene wailing in each others arms blocking the door to the bathroom.

Bottom-most pic is when they met while Yellow is complaining to his friend about his soulmate never replying and Blue chimes in with the eternal wisdom of “do you leave room to reply?” His friend ends up leaving like “what the fuck was that”

They are two halves of a perfect idiot genius and I love them.

When you’re tipsy and the bf dresses up for the first time in like 8 years instead of looking like a beach hippie.  Yellow’s also kinda insecure about how young he looks, especially in comparison to Blue as they’ve gotten older and Blue’s like “idk, man, we’ve known each other since we were actually teenagers so????”

But dang if a button up with rolled sleeves isn’t doing it for him.

Literally, Blue and Yellow lose their shit every time the other one wears a new outfit.

And so I finished the bases for Blue and Yellow, ages 15 and 16 respectively.  Basically their default outfits without accessories or outer layer (Blue’s p partial to hoodies unsurprisingly).

The last time I’ve done a colored piece with them was apparently 2011.  I gotta say laying down the base colors for them is nice to see, especially since color is a huge part of their character (to a point I don’t even refer to them by their actual names, just their color, even in script lol).

Two bases left to make (as seen in this line up sketch), Yellow’s hair back/hair down, and Blue’s normal/unspecified sickness posts.

Idk if anyone remembers this I posted in October but I actually have been working on it.

I’m trying to also start using Clip Studio instead of Photoshop and it’s been interesting.  Imma be real, I been using Photoshop for 16 years so transitioning over to another program feels super bizarre.  Anyway, the other two age variants and Blue will be coming along after this.  I’m actually making all of these as bases for the outfits they wear throughout their story.

Current google doc page count is 500 with 84 stories (51 of them finished, others in progress, all needing editing lol).

I cannot express how much I am liking working with these OCs of mine and am honestly really excited about the work I have planned for them. <3

When the bf is a huge romantic and you still get all flustered.

Blue loves sweets so Yellow just gets him ALL THE CHOCOLATE for VDay and then they go to whatever store and he has Blue pick whatever he wants for half off day.

I planned this for VDay, hoping to still finish it while half off chocolate is still in stores. :y

OCtober Blue and Yellow: “In Love”

Yellow and Blue both have a condition where the longer they’re in contact with something, the hue all shifts to that of the color they “represent.”  This color change is permanent, even if another person with the same condition comes in contact afterwards.  Blue was too depressed to move a lot of the time and so he’d end up “staining” things almost everywhere he went which later turned into a more severe problem ir2 his health (like aside from the depression).  Their hair and eyes are the same color as the one they stain things with and that often is what gives away someone with this condition.

Because of this, Yellow, who does a lot of crafting (his favorite making knotted bracelets), ends up working exclusively with yellow material so he doesn’t get to work with other colors.  When Blue asks how much it’d cost to buy a bracelet, Yellow ties a bunch of cords around his wrist and says that after they turn, they can call it a collab.  It was the first time Blue could say that he’d seen some kind of value in his condition and while he’d begun to stop outright hating it, it’s where he’d actually started to accept it as a part of him instead of trying to ignore it.

As for punching ghosts... that’s another thing entirely tho still related to some color symbolism lololol.

So I know I’m already behind on OCtober, but it’s more I’m planning to up my content outoput.  I’ve had a hard time just getting the energy and motivation to draw lately so sketching so far with these two has come out amazingly very much how I want it too.

So while these will probz get more finished, I’d like to share what I have so far.

Yeah, that’s a Jeopardy modus.  Directly follows this one I posted yesterday. :y

I p much drew this whole thing just for Yellow sitting on his own quest bed when Blue shows up to get the other set of bracelets.

He totally just hucked his own body off the bed spire in the hope that, being short on time, Blue wouldn’t decide to climb the thing and instead just fly to it.  It’s why the blood is still there.

(Blue has a Wheel of Fortune modus even though it’d be far more appropriate for a light player, but it’s gotta do with the actual canon of the story they’re in where he noodles around with music and has a series of songs inspired by Yellow that he calls his Wheel of Fortune series.  For various pun reasons in the context of their story)
