if you ask me wizardry is about hubris.

wizardry is about someone who was once merely a man and now she's a vessel to insane cosmic power.

wizardry is about calling forth the demonic hands of Zulmanos to go put away your laundry because you can't be asked to do it and then getting shocked and annoyed when the foul miasma of the lower planes starts spawning imps in your changing room.

wizardy is about picking fights with dragons and kingdoms and small planets and having 50/50 odds of winning, or of your pathetic mortal frame pop like a fresh grape because you fucked up your defensive runes and now you're a smear of red wearing a very nice robe.

wizardry is the ultimate expression of human power, our ability to shape the world around us to suit our deep desires and our petty whims, and at the same time human weakness, both our physical vulnerability and the various foibles and quirks that make us make mistakes but also make us who we are.

its also about going "heehoo" and scuttling around your tower like a gecko.

Had a thought today! Some bodies and brains are prone to a quicker, nastier slides into entropy than others. Taking (correctly recommended and prescribed) medication staves off the effects of that entropy on those bodies and brains. Taking meds = mundane wizardry? After all, if your meds keep you alive one way or the other, that's one less spark the Lone One snuffs out, right?

Exactly so.

In the philosophy (if we can call it that) underlying the YW universe, it’s routinely been implied that the forms of action-on-the-physical that we call "science" and "wizardry" are positioned at different spots along the same spectrum of action; and there are places where the barriers between the two blur. 

So the difference between, say, a specific series of pharmacological actions on someone's body, and of a wizardry constructed for a similar purpose, would be mostly one of perception. And if your vantage point is located outside the shared spectrum—as it would be if you were one of the Powers that Be—then the nature of what's happening (ontologically speaking) is just a matter of point of view. :)
