Hi. Are you a fan of werewolves?
Lady werewolves?
Do you like horror that’s thrilling but not actually scary? Do you miss horror with creative practical effects, prosthetics & puppetry, instead of overly used CGI?
Do you like romance? Drama? Comedy? Do you enjoy stories that center found family? With the central theme of allowing yourself to take the risk of fully committing to loving and being loved, even when you’re terrified your own demons might hurt those closest to you?
Do you ever fantasize about a bearded, plus sized DILF who will comfort you, wash the blood out of your hair, and stand by your side no matter what? Even after you try to eat him?
THEN BOY, DO I HAVE THE SHOW FOR YOU!
Please stream Wolf Like Me on Peacock, literally nobody knows about this show and I WISH it had a fandom, it is SO good, so well acted and so well written, the soundtrack absolutely SMACKS, and I would die if it didn’t have enough viewership to continue. I am begging you to watch this beautiful show. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

i’m watching Wolf Like Me season 2 and i know i always talk about how much i love werewolf media but oh my godddd i love this show’s concept/portrayal of werewolves!! lycanthropy functions sort of as a metaphor for trauma - vibes of something happened and it changed me, something is different about me now, sometimes i just explode, i feel like a monster, i feel less than human, am i still loveable? am i still deserving of love? how do i return to normalcy after something like this?. and even when you’re healing, it doesn’t go away, it just changes and you learn to exist with this part of yourself. as someone with trauma and mental illness etc, wow this feels so relatable (in a metaphorical sense i mean lol). plus it’s australian so it’s relatable in that way too lol.

You know I think I do love when werewolf stories really reflect on the intimacy of loving a person through hard shit. Like bisclavret, wolf like me, the dormant sisters, all it is that those stories are situated in the feeling of I love you and I'm going to act like it. Your internal conflict the dysphoria all that shit is something the partners cannot and usually don't try to control. But they make warm baths or make sure every where you go you are treated like you're home, or saying prayers while baking bread for the morning after.
And maybe it's a little of that sameise quote of "I can't carry this but I can carry you" where love is doing the shit that makes it easier for that person to be themselves and not asking them to be better or stronger or more™ and I wish it wasn't passed over for the sake of harsher or more common tropes within the genre.
