Put together the frame for the coat rack. Used some cherry and some very simple hand cut dovetails. Pretty happy with how it turned out.

The finish is still drying but it's complete.

I whittled a Totoro for a friend of mine for Christmas. She has an upcoming first time trip to Japan coming up in the new year and I wanted to make her something to bring with her.

The figurine is made in basswood and was way harder to do than expected. I'm considering myself a relatively experienced wood carver and the carving itself was fine. But getting a nearly round character looking correct from all angles was more complicated than I anticipated!

But he turned out good so it's all fine!
