what i read in september 🌤️

this month was crazy, i read more than three times my usual amount because i had the privilege of having loads of time on my hands. considering the current trend in reading communities online to be a bit obsessed with quantity, i feel the need to clearly state that i don't think this is anywhere near normal - i did it because i could and, above everything else, because i wanted to. you shouldn't feel pressured about the amount of stuff you read. read what you want, how much you want and you know what? read slowly. i know, at least for myself, that slow reads are often what stays with me the most. and now, here's a list of what i read this month:

anyone else spend the past week thinking about how it's not just that Tonkla pushed Korn out of the way to take the bullet for Korn, but also that the reason Win drew on Korn to begin with was because Korn was about to shoot Win and by pushing Korn aside, he stopped Korn from being able to shoot his gun at all?

he was trying to save them both, and in the end he only saved Win.

Tonkla was on a mission of vigilante justice for this whole show, and he made sure that the one person who was not actually associated with crime or anyone's death or murders, who had spent the whole time trying to get justice for Dome and Tonkla, who had tried to help even tho things were constantly taken out of his hands and every trail he followed led to a dead end, was the one who survived.

Tonkla died thinking that both of the men who loved him were alive, that he had stopped them from killing each other. that they would both live even if he didn't.

it just makes everything sadder.

EEEEE, got some very lovely art by Eliot (who you can find here). This is what happened during a semi-public session (my first official one, there were way more critters than shown here) I did in @nocturnowlette's Discord server! It was super lovely and I'm very very happy with both the session and this piece! ^w^

I won't be sharing the session here as I didn't get everyone's permission (and there was around 20 critters in the session), but basically it was a deep relaxation session where I wrapped up everycritter in my tail. Squeezed out their thoughts and energy, gave them each pets and attention, and even used my lavender mist breath a couple of times. I put some critters to sleep, even! Everycritter seemed to enjoy it lots :3

Maybe if I do another public session in the future, I'll see if everyone's okay with me sharing it more publicly beforehand.

「 Kim Dokja thought: Yoo Joonghyuk is now in the Gilobat Industrial Complex. 」 At first, I purely felt gratitude. Ah! Yoo Joonghyuk was a decent person! That jerk hit the industrial complex to save me! I felt thrilled for a while without thinking much. Then once I thought about it, I couldn't believe it. That Yoo Joonghyuk entered the Gilobat Industrial Complex to save me? In the first place, it was strange that Yoo Joonghyuk knew about my crisis. How could a guy who wasn't a constellation or have access to a channel know about my crisis? Thus, Yoo Joonghyuk was likely to do the opposite of coming to my rescue. He noticed that I impersonated him and came to the Demon Realm to pick me up. In the meantime, something went wrong and he headed to the Gilobat Industrial Complex first where he went through an unnecessary dispute and overturned the industrial complex. I couldn't even fathom how much rage it felt to do that.

Hey, remember when Uriel and Joonghyuk had that conversation about saving Dokja and Joonghyuk gave those absolutely atrocious excuses as to why he was "really" going to the Demon Realm, you know the ones that were so bad Uriel straight up started laughing at him right in his face?

Remember how Joonghyuk was soooooo obvious in his desire to save Dokja that nobody would ever believe his bullshit mumbling about 'usable items' or some shit?

Well great news!

THE ONE PERSON IN THE ENTIRE STARSTREAM WHO ACTUALLY BELIEVES JOONGHYUK'S UTTER NONSENSE IS KIM FREAKING DOKJA

In fact, Joonghyuk didn't even have to give his excuses, Dokja just thought them up all on his own!

Summer wrap up!

15 books, three of which I don’t own so they’re represented with flipped books. One five star. A few unhauls. A love of reading rediscovered. Summer was strange and long and bad and good. I’m excited for a new season, but grateful for the one we had 📚

JOMP BPC || January 1 || Reading Goals:

To slow down. The last few years I've noticed that I was paying more attention to number goals and aesthetic books stacks at the end of every month instead having fun with fiction or learning something from nonfiction. I wasn't sitting in wonder with poetry or lingering on comic art. I want my reading to be about the books, the story, the words painting their pictures in my imagination! Reading is joy and it's time I remembered that!

oops, got myself thinking again about byan having a little hoard of weird and random trinkets and shiny things hidden away under their bed in the same way that some cats have collections of bottle caps under furniture.

like, none of it is particularly meaningful and they don't wear any of the jewelry that's under there, but they like to pull it all out once in a while to look at and are always adding more

Just the eye connection during the knuckle kiss. The music. Like yes some other stuff MAYBE you can say was not as diliberately romantic...

But you can't say to me the way that single moment went down between Sansa and Tyrion, and their glances and interactions after that played out after that, that there wasn't some kind of mutual romantic tension there. One born out of trust and just very much seeing and understanding one another.

These two STILL get me and there is no end in sight. We could have had it all.
