like a popular writer did for their jk bridgerton fic? its tagged with all members and smut like it wouldnt hit thousands and thousands of notes anyway

They're not the only ones. It keeps happening more and more these days. As I've previously mentioned I've seen this happen with Taehyung fics along with Jungkook fics. But yes they are I suppose a current example of the problem and clogging up most if not all of the seven members' smut tags.

I don't know why it's so hard to to just stick to member specific tags. If you're a popular author with tons of followers surely you don't have to rely on putting your Jungkook fic under Hoseok's tag or Yoongi's tag in order to get notes? Like you already have an established reputation as a good writer, I'm sure that your fic will blow up regardless due to it's quality.

It seems counterintuitive because the people who go to read hyung line fics or Jimin fics definitely aren't going to be like "ooooh a Jungkook fic! Let me just change my mind and read it." It's more likely they'll be mad at how much harder it's making it for them to find the right fics. And if anything I feel like fics would be even more successful using proper tags because a lot of people read fics for multiple members, not only their bias. They would've come across your fic when they were searching for that member or seen a reblog on their feed and found it. It's absolutely unnecessary to use the other member tags which only make people mad since it makes them scroll through endless posts that have nothing to do with the tag like the photo dumps for example. Others of which do not use the "read more" function. I wonder what exactly the proposed solution of people who abuse tags is? Should we mass block you all and never come across your fics? Doesn't that undermine the reason you used the tags in the first place? To increase the visibility and the audience?

Also if you're gonna use something like "seokjin angst" or "namjoon smut" they better have an angst moment or smut moment in the fic. You can't be all "the member appeared in my fic why can't I use that tag." Did Namjoon fuck y/n? Also its really disappointing when you think you found an ot7 fic because an author is tagging all the members but that's not what it is 😭

The only thing it's doing is painting a bad picture of you or your fic to the people who find it on the wrong tags. So many reblogs I have gotten have mentioned they put fics using tags incorrectly on "do not read" lists and same with the authors who own those fics.
