IDK how many people are running the account, but if you or a member of the team running the account has ADHD, do you have any tips for ADHD writers, particularly when trying to get WIPs done? Outlines don't work for me like 99% of the time ;_;
Tips for Writing with ADHD
Here's what works for me, but your mileage may vary...
1 - Know What Outline Works for You - You say outlines don't work for you 90% of the time, but what type of outline are you using? Many people hear the word "outline" and imagine an academic outline with roman numerals and bullet points, but that's not what most fiction writers mean when they talk about using an outline. For fiction writers, outlines can be anything from a beginning to end written summary, to a scene list, to a detailed timeline. My post How to Outline a Plot has some different things you can try. Ultimately, there's no right or wrong way to outline your story. Anything that works as a "road map" to guide you through your story can help.
2 - Pants When You've Got to Pants - Some writers are "pantsers" or in other words, they prefer not to go off an outline. Some don't even plan in advance. They "write by the seat of their pants" and let the story take them where it may. For some writers, it depends on the specific story they're working on. Some stories might require planning, others might work better if you pants them. What works for me is understanding my needs (what type of story I'll usually need to plan/outline ahead of time, and what type of story I can pants) and then planning/pantsing accordingly. If I spent time outlining a story that I could easily pants, it would definitely take the wind out of my writing sails.
3 - Schedule Your Writing Time... Sort Of... - For me, I can't just rely on myself to write when the mood strikes me. If I did that, I'd never get any writing done. So for me, it's important to have a dedicated writing time each day. That doesn't even have to mean my butt's in the chair writing from this time to this time, it just means I'll do my best to write during whatever span of time. So, let's say this week you're home every day from 2pm until 6pm and some of that time is free time. That's going to be a good time to write, so you could say you're going to sit down every day at 3pm to write. Or, you could do 10-minute writing springs every hour, or every other hour. Or you could say you'll write when the mood strikes you, but definitely from 5:30 to 6 if you didn't get it done earlier.
4 - Try Random Writing Sprints - Writing sprints in general can be a good way for people with ADHD to write. You can schedule them or you could do them when the mood strikes. Get a timer and set it to whatever works for you... 5-minutes, 10-minutes, 30-minutes, whatever. Then just set it and go when you have time. Even if you don't feel like writing, getting into that habit will make it easier to write as soon as the timer comes out.
5 - Don't Give Yourself a Hard Time - One of the most profound things I ever heard about writing resistance is that it's often the product of writing feeling stressful. In other words, the idea of writing causes you stress, so your brain says, "Avoid! Avoid!" and you sit down to write and nothing happens. One of the ways we make writing stressful for ourselves is by giving ourselves a hard time when we don't write or don't write as much as we wanted. So, just do the best you can and congratulate yourself on small victories. Find ways to make writing fun and relaxing rather than stressful and like a chore.
Bonus - Sometimes the problem isn't ADHD but something else. My post 5 Reasons You Lost Interest in Your WIP, Plus Fixes! has some other things to consider.
I hope that helps!

WARNING! ME AND MY FOUL MOUTH 🧏🏾‍♀️ (in my defense Im really angry)
So I did see the posts from @celtic-crossbow but I had no idea this person actually followed me lmao 😭 I went through their account to make sure none of my works or any others have been stolen, I can’t seem to find her youtube however and I have this itching feeling some of my shit might be on there, especially since I noticed they’ve reblogged some of my stuff.
I dont fuck with plagiarism, I don’t even like when people so obviously take inspo from someone elses work and dont even credit them. Weird how when people know they're doing some fucked up shit they turn off their mentions! Should just change your user to just-a-hardcore-scaredy-cat-who-steals so people know you're nothing but a lame ass unoriginal cunt 💙

Just incase she's reading this, if I do find your youtube and I find a single one of my goddamn stories on there, inshallah I WILL TAKE LEGAL ACTION Idc what might happen to you since you clearly don't care about what you steal from others I won't care about stealing from you. Keep fucking around and I promise you you'll meet your match, and I will sit and watch your entire life crumble around you from just a few shitty criminal charges. You're a literal grown-ass woman which is just embarrassing as fuck.

Unleashing Creativity: Top Ways to Generate Unique Fantasy Story Ideas
Tumblr media
Photo: Standard License- Adobe Stock
Welcome back,
There's no denying that fantasy has been at the core of some of the most enchanting, daring, and downright unforgettable tales (for one reason or another) that have shaped the literary landscape. Who doesn't love the thrill of journeying to some new adventurous place with otherworldly creatures and epic battles between the forces of dark and light? Personally, I'm all about the dark side. Even for the most seasoned writers sparking the imagination can be difficult. Things like inspiration seem elusive as a dragon hiding in a mist-covered mountain. Today, I will cover a few ideas to find your muse. My muse sometimes hides in a dumpster...so let's find better ways to do this, shall we?
People Watching, with a Twist: Observing people in everyday situations can be a great source of inspiration. Now, add a layer of 'What If?'. What if the barista at your local coffee shop could control elements? What if the older woman feeding pigeons in the park was a retired warrior queen? This exercise allows you to create complex characters with intriguing backstories, ripe for the world of fantasy.
Travel Through Time: History is brimming with periods that, with a little twist, can become fantastic settings for your story. Victorian England's social hierarchies, the Renaissance's scientific innovations, and the fierce battles of Feudal Japan offer fertile ground for fantastical tales. Weave in elements of magic or mythical creatures, and you have an intoxicating cocktail of historical fact and enticing fantasy.
Bioinspiration – Fantasize with Flora and Fauna: The natural world is a veritable treasure trove of inspiration. Let's call this approach 'bioinspiration.' Start by exploring Earth's biodiversity's peculiar traits, behaviors, and survival mechanisms. Why not envision a species that communicates like whales but hunts like a pack of wolves? Or perhaps a plant that blooms under the moonlight and has the power to manipulate time? The possibilities are endless when you fuse the wonder of our world with a dash of fantasy.
Take a Hike (Literally!): When was the last time you truly engaged with the wilderness, the mountains, or the sea? Natural landscapes are rife with potential for fantasy storytelling. As you walk through a dense forest, consider the creatures that might inhabit such a place in a fantasy realm. That murmuring stream could be a water nymph's dwelling, and the wind howling through the canyon might be a dragon's call. Try to visualize your surroundings through the lens of fantasy — you may be surprised at what your imagination conjures up!
Harness the Power of Music: Like music, few things can stir the soul and spark the imagination. A piece of music can evoke many emotions and images depending on its rhythm, melody, and harmony. Try listening to music without lyrics (like classical, orchestral, or ambient music) and let your mind wander. Picture the scenes that the music evokes. Is that tranquil harp melody the song of a peaceful elven village? Does the tumultuous symphony represent the climax of an epic battle? Use these mental images as a springboard for your fantasy narrative.
So there it is, everyone. Five unique ways to draw up some inspiration. Go find your muse!! Probably shouldn't have said mine hides in a dumpster. I'm all about being superstitious, so I'm sure she'll never speak to me again.
Happy Writing,
Indigo Everly

Don’t apologize for your writing
I’ve seen so many Tumblr profiles on here, where writers describe themselves, and then their writing-but then they say: “it’s not that good”, or “it’s garbage”, or that it’s just “writing that’s all over the place”. They are apologizing in their profiles for what they think is their terrible writing.
But if they didn’t like their writing, why post it?
Because there is someone out there that will read it, and like it. Someone could find it a beautiful piece, or well written, or just plain intriguing.  Or maybe a part of the writing could inspire someone, a word, a phrase, etc. I could find a few writing pieces by others I didn’t particularly like and point out a spot that stood out to me.
The point is, everyone has experienced bad writing days, or bad writing projects they weren’t happy with. Just please, don’t apologize. You can point out which parts need work, which parts you aren’t happy with, but never be sorry for your writing.
Writing is a part of me. My writing is unique to me. I think that apologizing for writing is like apologizing for being who you are, because who you are shows up in the way you write.
I personally struggle with this problem of apologizing for my writing. But I think it is important to realize that nobody is going to read anything like we’ve written, because nobody else is like us. Our writing is unique. So don’t ever apologize!
Please reblog so we can help assure writers that their work is always appreciated!
