hi there! i hope this isn’t an odd ask to receive. i used to read wtmyh as it was updating when i was a teenager back in 2016, and as an adult it’s never quite left me. i recently finished another reread of some old favorite fics (cobc and wtmyh among them), and it made me very sentimental: your writing in wtmyh had a huge impact on me when i was younger and was part of what inspired me to become an artist in my own right. i just wanted to say thanks for sharing your work, and i hope you and your family are doing well! good luck with the move to maryland!

Oh gosh, thank you for sending me this ask! It’s crazy to think that people have grown up having read my work when they were teens. My daughter wasn’t even one yet when I started writing wtmyh and now she’s nine. The passage of that time feels so much differently for me.

I’m so glad to hear that the fic left such a strong impression, especially that you were inspired to become an artist yourself! That’s wonderful! I hope you’re doing well, too. This was incredibly touching, and I’m so glad you reached out. I haven’t had the ability to do any writing lately for a number of reasons, so it’s comforting to know that what I’ve already done still exists out there to mean something to people.

Chara thinks you're their older brother, but the truth is you're their dad. In an effort to get away from your own abusive father, the two of you end up falling into the Underground, home to monsters you never realized existed. But, with little to go home to, you and Chara end up staying in Snowdin with Sans and Papyrus.

Something seems off with Chara, however. There's times where they seem to know more than they should. And, to complicate matters, the tall, funny, and surprisingly caring skeleton starts flirting with you. Caught up in a romance you never expected, you try desperately to cling to this new happiness you've found after a life that had very little.

Uh, it’s just a tiny crappy sketch but hey, I drew my version of Reedz from FWTST. I started reading it last week I think? Yeah, and I’ve been hooked. I actually got completely caught up in two days 😅 but this story...I have no words. It’s so amazing and has brought me to near tears, has made me hardly be able to contain my laughter, has even made me angry. This is a work of art, and has made it into my top favorites along with WTMYH and CoBC.

So I had a dream last night that you updated WTMYH and the chapter was called "In which you couldn't have better friends", and the entire chapter was just sans and reader finally being married and lovingly looking into each other's eyes while singing the friend's theme, and the entire cast sang along. Please tell me that was just a fever dream.

Well, it would certainly be a twist ending for my story, Would That Make You Happy, written by me, regular old @onadacora. But I am here to tell you that, yes, that is how it ends. Also you finally cracked the code so I can explain this to you now:

I don't know if this question has been asked before, but is there an official name of Bo & Deacon's daughter? Just a curiosity...

I don't think I ever actually settled on a name for her, officially, but I know I was seriously considering Xanthe, specifically because it means "blond-haired".
