I told the creators of Welcome to Night Vale about the sexyman poll.

im taking a narrative podcast production course, and we had joseph fink and jeffery cranor come speak to the class over zoom

as the final question of our Very Serious QA panel, i told them about the tumblr sexyman poll, with hundreds of thousands of votes, and that cecil still won a decade later. i asked if the power of creating The Sexiest Fictional Man was something that could go to their heads. they couldnt stop laughing.

joseph gave a long spiel about how grateful he is for the impact Night Vale had — he told a story about seeing a fictional flights board in an airport and that it felt so strange to see Night Vale up there. he was super humble and said that Night Vale ‘belongs to the fans’ and takes no ownership of Sexy Creationism.

then jeffery comes in like ‘yeah, what he said, but personally i think it does go to my head’ and giggled and said “It feels pretty awesome.”

Ultimate Night Vale Weather Poll

A bit more than a month ago, I made a poll about everyone’s favourite classic Night Vale weather. Now I’m doing a major series of polls to determine the Ultimate Night Vale Weather. Each poll will last for one week and there’ll be a new one every day until we’ve got through all the weathers so far.

I know it’s been talked about before, but I saw a list of pros and cons laid out by @spooksier (in drawing form, I like their stuff, check it out!) sooooo I must ask again…

Juno’s only advantage here is he is actually a lady that knows how to fight and a trained sharpshooter, otherwise (would the Martian blood do anything here? The other opponents aren’t from “around there” so probably not but maybe), but if he could act first — I don’t even know if Cecil CAN die??? And Jon can smite people — but that does take a sec and would the Ceaseless Watcher even be accessible there? I love you Jon but you’re not exactly a capable fighter without the Ceaseless Watcher. I don’t think Cecil draws power from Nightvale? Does he?? Cecil is a mystery. Would he be less or more dangerous if he did not know where Carlos was— and if it’s —

Ooookay, so first time posting wtnv fanart..be gentle with me please these character designs will change in the future.

I might post the character sheets I did for Carlos and Cecil while working on it. But as I said, I will change the characters a bit because I am not 100% satisfied.

Also, background story. I recently started listening to wtnv and it became my go-to walking to university podcast (the walk is ~40 min but my personal best is 26 min).

Okay, so remeber the clocks not working? My idea was what if the seismograph also wouldn't work and Carlos had to do that cartboard like science fair style seismograph with a cup and pebbels.

There instructions to it in my old physics textbook so I got a great reference~

the reason both cecil and carlos fell in love instantly (which let's be honest is kinda weird) is because of night vale time and reality shenanigans

in most realities they actually developed feeling for one another over time (and carlos usually developed them first, so we can have the carlos fell first, cecil fell harder)

but since night vale is night vale they got a lifetimes love they had felt in every reality the moment they set their eyes on eachother
